Man Who Killed Own Girlfriend Over Infidelity Caged 20yrs

By A Correspondent- High Court judge, Justice David Foroma, has caged a Bindura man, Brian Chikanya, 20 years for murdering his girlfriend in cold blood over infidelity allegations.

Chikanya killed his girlfriend, Sarah Munhu, on the night of August 10, 2017, in an event which left the Ushongani community shocked.

Munhu’s body was found lying by the roadside the following morning, with several fractures, confirming the brutal attack she succumbed to.

She was also found wearing Chikanya’s underwear, with indications that he had been intimate with her before the attack.

In passing sentence, Foroma said Chikanya’s actions cannot be justified under any circumstances.

“What aggravates the offence is that the accused sought to conceal the crime by taking the corpse to the roadside, where it was found the following morning by a passer-by.

“Every person has a right to the God given gift of life, which the constitution of this country considers to be a fundamental right. Courts have an obligation  to protect every person’s right, and will always guard jealously the said.

“A message should be sent to the offender and any like minded, that violence, in this day and age of civilised human behaviour, will not be tolerated, no matter the circumstances.

“Crimes of passion are occurring much too often and are evidence of domestic violence, which courts will always frown upon, “he said.

During the trial, it emerged that Chikanya was having an affair with Munhu but her children were not aware and regarded him as their uncle.

On the fateful day, Chikanya even went with Munhu’s son to do some menial jobs before he passed through her home that evening.

Munhu later went to his house and footprints showed that she never left the hut alive.

An altercation arose while they were in bed, resulting in Chikanya fatally assaulting her.

After killing her, he cleaned the house and took the soiled blankets to his kitchen, trying to conceal the offence.

During the night, he carried Munhu’s corpse and left it by the roadside.

The following morning he pretended not to be privy to the on goings.

He went to Munhu’s homestead and took her children to the scene without disclosing what had happened.

The children only got to know that their mother had passed on when they got to the scene.

An alert police officer attending the scene, Constable Mangidza, of Munhenga Police Station, managed to pick signs that he was involved in the murder of Munhu.

She then asked him to accompany the children to the police station to give their statements, saying this was convenient because he was the one who brought them to the scene.

Munhenga alerted her colleagues, who then arrested Chikanya upon his arrival at the police station with Munhu’s children.

It was established that he killed Munhu using a chisel, hammer and a wooden stool.-NewZim

Mliswa’s Faction Trounced In Mash West Provincial Elections

As factionalism ravages Zanu-PF, provincial affairs minister Mary Mliswa-Chikoka’s preferred Kadoma-Chegutu candidate in the provincial youth league elections was beaten by agriculture deputy minister, Vangelis Haritatos’ proxy.

Chegutu rural district council chairman Tatenda Gwinji, a close ally of Mliswa-Chikoka, was trounced after only managing 31 votes, emerging last in a line up comprising winner Onisimo Zvandasara who tallied 50 votes and Timothy Masviba who garnered 42 votes.

The election was conducted at the Zanu-PF provincial headquarters in Chinhoyi on Tuesday to prevent possible skirmishes.

A Zanu-PF source said although Mliswa-Chikoka and Haritatos enjoy cordial relations, they clashed on the choice of candidate that will represent the province at the national youth league conference scheduled for May 4 to 8.

“This was a sticking point as Mliswa-Chikoka and Haritatos had differed on the youth to represent Kadoma-Chegutu District. After the two failed to reach a consensus, it was inevitable their preferred candidates had to square off in an election to settle the impasse, which turned out in Haritatos’ favour,” said the source, who requested anonymity.

The poll to choose the Kadoma/Chegutu representative was rescheduled following Sunday’s violence that broke out at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) that forced elections to be aborted.

Each province is dispatching four representatives to contest for national executive posts during the conference, which is a precursor to the October elective congress, where the ruling party is expected to ordain its 2023 presidential candidate.

In Sunday’s elections, Valerie Makonza beat Chipo Tagwirei and Sthembeni Madzima to land the gender seat, while Shepherd Marime was elected unopposed for Hurungwe/Kariba district.

Decide Manhanzva won the Zvimba/Makonde polls after shrugging off Godknows Muzhandamuri and Admire Muronzi, who is brother-in-law to information ministry permanent secretary, Nick Mangwana.

“No Western Powers Opposition Will Take Over Power In Zim”: Defence Minister

By A Correspondent- Minister of Defence Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has warned that opposition parties that are backed by the Western powers will not take over power in Zimbabwe.

Writing on Twitter, Kashiri said, “We fought for our land, we fought for our sovereignty. No Imperialist-backed puppet opposition party shall ever take away what we fought for. Never.”

Earlier, the Minister had urged all Zimbabweans to support ZANU PF and President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“All smart Zimbabweans should rally behind Zanu PF and our visionary leader President Mnangagwa. Our country is achieving rapid socio-economic transformation underpinned by sound and people-oriented policies. We are very lucky to have a listening and peace loving President.” She said.

The country is gearing up for harmonised elections to be held next year.

Mnangagwa Warns Rivals Ahead Of December Congress

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has issued a stern warning to rivals within the ruling Zanu-PF amid fears of sabotage ahead of the December elective congress where he fears he will be challenged by his deputy Constantino Chiwenga.

Insiders said the attack was aimed at the Chiwenga camp that is targeting the youth league and women’s league conferences as platforms to consolidate its leadership takeover agenda ahead of the crucial congress where the former army general is set to contest Mnangagwa with the help of the military.

Although Chiwenga remains mum on his ambitions, insiders say there was a serious push to stop Mnangagwa from standing as the party candidate in 2023 despite being endorsed by the party’s Bindura conference last year.

The Chiwenga camp is basing on security reports, particularly the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) prediction of a Zanu-PF loss under Mnangagwa because of failure to address the economic crisis among other issues.

But in his address to the party politburo on Thursday, Mnangagwa said divisive elements will not be tolerated as leadership in the party was “not an entitlement.”

“As we prepare for our conferences of the leagues and the scheduled party congress, actions bent on sabotaging the party and dividing the membership will not be tolerated. Leadership in Zanu-PF is not entitlement,” Mnangagwa said.

“Finally, as the politburo, let us remain united and continue to handle party affairs with honesty, integrity and loyalty. Narrow and self-defeating agendas which are indeed against the interest of our mass party, should be rejected by us at this level and indeed among the rank and file of the membership.”

Mnangagwa is leading a deeply divided party that has failed to heal from the district and provincial restructuring exercises last year that were rigged in favour of those linked to him despite losing to those said to be either independent minded or linked to Chiwenga.

There are serious fight over provincial elections in the Midlands, Mashonaland Central, Manicaland, Mashonaland West, Matabeleland North and other provinces where the party remains divided.

Mnangagwa is also accused of pursuing a tribal agenda in favour of his Karanga ethnic group, promoting his relatives and close allies to key positions while alienating others.

“The conference must help consolidate intra-party unity and democracy, while also serving as a building block to party rejuvenation, modernisation and growth,” the Zanu-PF leader said.

“Meanwhile, I urge the youth league and women’s league, together with all other departments of the party involved in the holding of the conferences, to be guided by the supremacy of the party constitution, principles and values.”

C ritics say Mnangagwa is uncomfortable with the 2023 general election amid fears of defeat from the opposition on the back of internal fissures and bhora musango.  He conceded that a lot needs to be done if the ruling party entertains any chances of winning.

“Much more work lies ahead of us as we gear up for a total victory in 2023 harmonised general elections,” Mnangagwa said.

On the exchange rate that his now hovering above ZWL$360 for US$1 on the parallel market and stoking chronic high inflation, Mnangagwa said: “Government is currently addressing the exchange rate evil and price hikes which are a result of imported inflation.”

In apparent reference to his much-hyped visit to Emmanuel Makandiwa’s church recently, Mnangagwa said there remains a strong relationship between the state and religion.

“The importance of the symbiotic relationship between the state, church and the party cannot be over-emphasised, more so now as we accelerate the building of our great country. This relationship must continue to be nurtured across all levels of society. I exhort the party leadership to deliberately find time to attend their various congregations.”

KASUKUWERE BRINGS MALEMA TO HIS CAMPAIGN TEAM.

BY DR MASIMBA MAVAZA

Julius Malema this week came out on eNCA TV news calling for Zimbabweans to go back to Zimbabwe and vote the government of Emerson Mnangagwa out. He had earlier called President Mnangagwa a sell out and urging him to step down.

Malema’s interest in Zimbabwe’s elections is a result of his intimate association with the former ZANU PF political Commissair Xavier Tyson Kasukuwere. He is taking instructions from Kasukuwere thinking he has a good chance to be the next President. Malema now lives and believe in a lie of course peddled by Tyson.

It is not a secret that Kasukuwere and Malema always meet in their promiscuous adventures as both are known to be failures when it comes to control the items below the belt. Both Tyson and Malema are frequent visitors of the Makema’s penthouse in Sandton.

But why is Malema behaving like this. In most cases Malema is living his name. In Zulu and Ndebele ” Malema” is the word for “Marema” in Shona. This does not mean a person suffering from mental health illness but means a person of crazy and mad behaviour who can not order his fuculties well in relating to others.

Malema has wondered way offline in his spits. He suffers from a mental disorder which makes him like he is the referee.

Malema is the man who has failed to put his mouth where his mind is. He has the mind of a fly and fame of an elephant.

It is a shame that Malema rushed to comment before he understands what is happening. He has a loose mouth and needs some mouthwash to cleanse his unguided speech. It is a shame that such brilliance in Malema has a lunatic as a master.

Mnangagwa can never be called a traitor. He has actually become a double hero since he championed land invasion and land compensation. Malema in his speech he called Zimbabwean government as malicious and nonsense.

After his address on pertaining to the Zimbabweans in South Africa and the issue of voting, one can not help thinking that whosoever gave Malama that name had prophesied his insanity remarks about the Hon president of the Republic of Zimbabwe, ED.

Mr Malema is an opposition leader in SA , not in Zimbabwe or Africa, for that matter. His self-styled posture as a Pan- African Opposition leader is as delusional as his undeplomatic and obscene interference in internal affairs of another sovereign state. His actions are pervasive and totally uncalled for.

Malema starts well by encouraging zimbabweans to go home and vote. His lunacy is exposed when he starts calling the rule of cde Mnangagwa as “nonsense”.

Malema should understand that Voting issues are a complex internal and constitutional issue.

Presently those Zimbabweans in the diaspora have no right to vote from outside the borders of Zimbabwe, save for those on external duties. Mr Malema must know that this position can only be changed by Zimbabweans not by an over-exuberant howling of a foreign opposition leader.

In so far as Mr Malema is urging Zimbabweans in SA to return to vote in their country, he is behaving like a crazy man hiring a locksmith to open a door that stands ajar. In his understanding who is stopping these citizens to return?

Mr Malema’s is afflicted of the fallacious thinking and weird assumption that Zimbabweans in the disspora in voting will vote against the government and for the opposition. What nonsense is that. Zimbabweans in Diaspora are more patriotic than their counterparts at home. Being in diaspora one begin to appreciate his country. It is only when you are abroad that the environment teaches you to love your nation.

These Zimbabweans are part of a big family back home. It is more logical to think that the voting pattern at hone will find reflection in the diaspora.

Zanu PF has been winning elections for decades and that is the pattern at home. There is no reason to surmise that the same voters will cross a stream into SA and then change political allegiance.

What really makes Malema suddenly pretend that he is a champion for Zimbabweans? A number of factors:

Malema has really failed to make significant inroads in his own country. While the ANC has lost seats in recent elections, Malema ‘s party has not gained significantly. This is because whatever the ANC has lost, that has been shared between the EEF and the other opposition party, the AD.

Malema can sense that his party is not likely to wrestle power fron the ANC in the next elections. As a consequence of this painful realisation Mr Malema lashes out, boils like an unserviced engine and his mouth blows like a leaky exhoust pipe.

Malema has been promised great opportunities in Zimbabwe should Kasukuwere becomes the president. Tyson still breeds those hallucinations where he will come to be a president of Zimbabwe. That day will never come and Malema should wake up and smell coffee.

Mr Malema must concentrate on coming up with a cogent programme of attracting his own county man as voters in SA. Imbecile speaches and roudy behaviour in Parliament all these years have not had any electorial impact at all. In his cluelessness Mr Malema is now lashing out at president ED much the same way a failing and abysmal footballer who is failing to mark his opponent would then pick the ball and through it assaultingly at innocent spectators. Grow up man.

Another factor in Malema’s mind is clearly the challenges in his own country. A man and opposition leader devoid of ideas to improve his country cast his eyes like a voyeur at a neighbourhood ‘s bedroom.

It may well be that Mr Malema is salivating when he sees some of the illegal immigrants in SA and hallucinate that one day they will vote in his country and vote for him, hence his statement that they should go back to Zimbabwe to vote and “come back”.

If Mr Malema wants to do something meaningful for Zimbabweans in his country, he must join them in the fight for dignity in that country: fight for the right to life of the Zimbabweans who are being burnt alife.

He must address his compatriots to eradicate xenophobia, prejudice and vigilantism. He must seriously engage the government of SA and all stakeholders to find a solution to the most pressing need of the Zimbabweans in SA, which is the need for protection.

Therefore for Malema to ignore the single most pressing issue of protection of life of the Zimbabweans in SA and to talk nonsensically as he did was not just a cynical diversion but an insult to Zimbabweans in his country and all over the world.

Malema gets it wrong when he said the Zimbabweans must go back to Zimbabwe and remove the ZANU PF government. This thinking is flawed and tainted with insults which are not called for.

Zimbabwe is not reneging on the gains of independence. Zimbabweans are not against their government. It was ZANU PF which made Zimbabweans to pick up arms and go to a war. The wars for our freedom were to free the blacks and whites alike. It was not a racist war. The whites were allowed to stay in the great reconciliations championed by Mugabe and Mnangagwa.

Zimbabwe has been riddled by sanctions and Malema could not see that. The Zimbabweans in Diaspora are not all against ZANU PF. So Malema must grow up and respect his neighbours. He has no right whatsoever to issue campaign statements against ZANU PF.
The EFF must take their commander Malema for a mental check up.

Onslaught Against Open View Decoder Owners

Eleven people were arrested, and dozens of illegal decoders were seized during police raids over the past two weeks, as police broke a TV-decoder smuggling ring.

The cross-border smuggling ring is involved in bringing Openview decoders from South Africa into Zimbabwe, in contravention of customs, trademark and copyright laws.

Raids and seizures are set to continue across the SADC region as a regional clampdown on content piracy continues.

The Openview decoders are used to access content from the SABC and eMedia in South Africa.

The content is not licensed for viewing in any other countries in the region.

“We commend the Zimbabwe police on their detective work in breaking the smuggling ring and making the arrests,” says Antonio Lee, COO of Openview parent company eMedia Group.

“We are working with law enforcement in several SADC countries to share information about illegal trade in our decoders. We look forward to more major busts and more arrests being made soon.”

Lee says Openview decoders can only be legally sold in South Africa, and that retailers who sell the set-top boxes in other countries are guilty of crimes of content piracy – the unauthorised duplication and sale of copyrighted content.

“Anyone purchasing an Openview decoder in Zimbabwe is robbing the country of customs duties,” he says.

“They can expect no after-sales service. Also, Zimbabwe’s TV professionals suffer when viewers watch foreign content instead of home-made Zimbabwean shows.”

Illegal decoders are a form of grey-market content piracy, which involves distributing and selling a product or a service outside the geographical area where it is licensed.

The raids follow an intensive investigation across key Southern African markets, which has identified retail outlets selling the Openview decoders.

In total, eleven outlets were raided and 81 decoders including 1094 records containing Openview serial numbers were seized. Follow-up investigations are likely to lead to further arrests and confiscations of devices.

“Openview supports these raids, and we take this issue extremely seriously,” says Lee.

“Pirating content using our devices is illegal. Both retailers and viewers are guilty of crimes. Having an illegal decoder in your store or in your home means you can be arrested at any time and prosecuted.”

Lee says that training has been conducted with law enforcement, customs agencies, and border officials on what to look out for in fighting content piracy and decoder smuggling.

He says that if smuggled decoders are identified, they can be blocked remotely so that they become useless.

Lee says he appeals to Zimbabwe consumers not to buy Openview decoders.

“Several national and international laws are being broken if you use pirate decoders. You will get no customer support, they can be switched off at any time, and you are engaging in illegal, criminal activity that makes you liable to arrest and prosecution.”

Marondera Woman Denied Bail For Trafficking Desperate Zim Women To Oman

By A Correspondent- Farisisai Mupeti, of Rusike Phase 3 in Marondera, briefly appeared before Harare Magistrate Yeukai Dzuda on 22 April and was not asked to plead.

Mupeti was remanded in custody to June 1 and advised to apply to the High Court for bail.

The National Prosecuting Authority alleged that sometime in November 2021, Mupeti made false representations to one Mirriam Zihumo acting in connivance with one Lincell Allimonis, who is still at large and is believed to be in Oman. The prosecution said:

Her accomplice Allimos went on to send Zihumo air tickets and a VISA

Zihumo first knew something was wrong when her air tickets, written in Arabic, showed the destination as Oman, and not Dubai.

Mupeti, it is alleged, processed a fake medical examination report and polymerase chain reaction test for Zihumo.

When Zihumo landed in Oman, her apprehension only heightened when her passport was taken away by men acting in connivance with Mupeti, the charges say.

She was “sold” to a man who would be her “employer.” The prosecution added:

She was denied food, worked around the clock, and was kept indoors for three months.

Zihumo only managed to return home after lying to the man holding her that she had a wedding planned in Zimbabwe and that her family had bought her the tickets.

Mupeti allegedly used the same trick on Isabel Mushoriwa who was subjected to abuse for three weeks and only escaped after lying that her mother had died. Alleged the prosecution:

She even stated that if she failed to attend her mother’s burial in Zimbabwe, she will suffer from a mental illness.

The “employer” allegedly demanded to see the burial order before releasing her. He also wanted her family to buy a return ticket, which they did to secure her freedom.

Mupeti is charged with violating the Trafficking in Persons Act.

On Tuesday, Zimbabwe’s cabinet approved the principles of the Trafficking in Persons (Amendment) Bill which will offer more support to victims of trafficking by obligating the state to repatriate them and also provide counselling services.

“Black Friday To Mourn Extreme Poverty”: Teachers Call For Support

By A Correspondent- The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ) has urged Zimbabweans to wear black clothes on Friday to mourn the high cost of living that has pushed many into extreme poverty.

ARTUZ president, Obert Masaraure, this Wednesday said teachers are preparing for a radical approach in fighting for better salaries. He said:

We will put on black regalia to mark black Friday, mourning extreme poverty in the country, the collapsing economy and demand a solution to the salary crisis and smooth opening of schools.

Black Friday will mark the “death” of our country’s economy. Schools are set to open next week yet prices of fuel, bread and other basic commodities have gone up in the context of stagnant paltry salaries that workers earn. Our teachers and the broad working class are now in deep poverty.

On this Friday we are inviting the working class to wear black in mourning the extreme poverty, marking the death of our economy. Black Friday will be held ahead of the May Day celebrations as we prepare a radical fight to demand better wages for workers in Zimbabwe.

He added that there will be no marches saying holding placards and wearing black will be enough.

Schools are scheduled to open for the second term on May 3.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) secretary-general Japhet Moyo said there was nothing to celebrate on Workers Day given the poor working conditions in both the public and private sectors.

Marondera Woman Up For Human Trafficking

By- A Marondera woman has appeared in court for allegedly selling Zimbabwean women into slavery in Oman.

Several women are reportedly living a nightmare in Oman after they were promised a life-changing job opportunity in the United Arab Emirates with fully paid flights and visas to Dubai, its most modern capital.

Destination Dubai turned out to be Oman, the rich emirates’ south-east neighbour, and the lucrative jobs promised turned into a life of slavery and exploitation.
Farisisai Mupeti, of Rusike Phase 3 in Marondera, briefly appeared before Harare Magistrate Yeukai Dzuda on 22 April and was not asked to plead.

US$2 Million Needed For CCC Congress

By- The Nelson Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change its much talked about elective congress would cost US$2 Million

The party’s interim secretary-general, Chalton Hwende said that the opposition party cannot hold an elective congress before 2023 harmonised elections because it doesn’t have the funds for the event.

This comes barely a week after CCC interim deputy spokesperson, Gift Siziba claimed they will not hold a congress because they feared infiltration by Zanu PF and State security agents.

However, Hwende said CCC doesn’t have the huge sums of money needed to hold a congress as well as for election campaigns. Said Hwende:

The two biggest cost centres in a political party are: 1. Congress 2. General Elections.

There is no sane party that holds both events in the same year because to have a congress for CCC you need US$2 million and an election, a minimum of US$150 million. Politics is a very expensive game.

We are less than 12 months before an election, and the three critical priority areas are 1. Voter registration 2 Candidates selection and polling agents training 3. Fundraising.

Musona Available For Selection

Warriors captain Knowledge Musona is still available for selection should the FIFA ban be lifted and Zimbabwe be allowed to take part in the Afcon qualifiers, Team Manager Wellington Mpandare has said.

Musona (31), became the first Zimbabwean player to score at two different Afcon finals, when he brilliantly headed home Never Tigere’s pin-point cross against Guinea at Afcon 2021 but his future has been shrouded in uncertainty since then.

Soccer24 understands that Musona, who is on the ranks of Saudi Arabian side Al Tai, is still keen on playing for the Warriors should there be international football in Zimbabwe, a position which has been confirmed by Mpandare.

“Knowledge is still available for national team selection but obviously if we don’t get cleared for the upcoming Afcon qualifiers then it will be a different ball game all together,” said Mpandare.

“That will mean our coming back into international football will be after 2023 Afcon final and a lot can happen in between,” he added.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Former PSL Referee Speaks On Mandava Chaos

Former Premier Soccer League referee Ruzive Ruzive believes the penalty incident which led to violence at Mandava Stadium between FC Platinum and Highlanders, was the correct call.

Referee Kuzivakwamwari Jaravaza pointed to the spot in the 82nd minute after Peter Muduhwa was adjudged to have brought down Walter Musona.

The incident led to violence, after a section of Bosso fans invaded the pitch in protest, and police reacted by firing teargas, leading to the match being abandoned.

Speaking on ZTN weekly show The Couch, Ruzive said Jaravaza made the right decision.

“If the holding, pulling of the shirt started outside the box and ended inside the box, then it is a penalty,” said Ruzive.

“So if it is clear that there was holding in this scenario, which I’m seeing from that angle, I’m seeing holding of the shirt.”

“There was a pulled shirt starting from outside the box, and ended up inside, so what it means is, the decision was correct,” he added.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

We Will Bury Zanu PF In 2023- Wiwa

Tinashe Sambiri|The Zanu PF regime is desperate to disrupt Citizens’ Coalition For Change’s campaign programmes across the country.

This was said by CCC deputy chairperson Hon Job Sikhala.

According to Hon Sikhala, Zanu PF agents are working round the clock to disrupt CCC activities.

“Please don’t listen to agenda setting talk allover the air.

We are wiser than the whole machinery of Emmerson Mnangagwa put together !!!

Our focus is on winning the 2023 Elections. All energy and focus shld be on the ball.

Let 2023 be the year to bury ZANU PF and all the evil associated with it,” Hon Sikhala wrote on Twitter.

Why Mnangagwa Has Dashed to Angel, Java, Makandiwa?

By Knowledge Hakata-Political Analyst | With less than a year and two months before Zimbabwe holds its highly anticipated 2023 Presidential elections, President Mnangagwa has of late turned for support from self-styled Prophets and Papa’s in the much flocked charismatic churches in Zimbabwe. The late former President and African strongman Robert Mugabe was usually known for flocking the white garments churches such as Mwazha Sect, Johanne Marange, Mugodhi and he could as well go as far as Zaoga and ZCC. Politically Zanu Pf has managed to keep its political muscles intact through dishing large pieces of land to these denominations and most of their leaders have proclaimed their allegiance to Zanu Pf especially the likes of Ezekiel Guti, Nehemiah Mutendi, Ndanga ,Wutaunashe, the Noah Taguta just to name a few.
By appointing Uebert Angel as the Ambassador at Large to the Americans and Europe, Mnangagwa made a bold move in capturing one of the most followed Zimbabwean Prophet who at one time prophesied that Zanu Pf will not be removed from power anytime soon. Considering that most of his followers in Zimbabwe are gullible and unsuspecting that this man of cloth is just after taking all their hard earned money through manipulating the gospel. His appointment was a clever move by Mnangagwa as the prophet will be used to spread propaganda through the pulpit that will cause many not to register to vote as well as loosing interest in voting at all costs, however one should bear in mind that these prophets they don’t just endorse Zanu Pf without massive benefits.
Walter Magaya is undoutly a staunch Zanu Pf sympathizer, whom at one point had to part with thousands of dollars just to buy Former First lady Grace Mugabe book when the then powerful First Lady turned 50 years. In his words Prophet Magaya said he was happy to meet the First Family and he would continue to support the First Lady’s philanthropic work. During his then crusade in Botswana, Prophet Magaya indicated that it was his wish to meet the then and late President Mugabe. Considering his large following at his Waterfalls base Magaya has never criticized the current regime for its violations of Human Rights either has he ever opened his mouth about the looting and corruption that is practiced by the Harare regime. He is one of these self-styled prophets who have received large chunks of land and mines at the hands of Zanu Pf, whilst thousands of his followers they are walloping in abject poverty.
Comedian and Flamboyant thief Prophet Passion Java was appointed by Mnangagwa to mislead the youths not to register to vote. Java has been campaigning for Mnangagwa and has been following the President at all Zanu Pf events. The self-styled thief has also been recruiting some popular socialist to support Mnangagwa and Robert Mugabe became his latest victim. The fake prophet has also been bankrolling local artist as to spread Mnangagwa propaganda and Roki has been one of his mouth piece through his music. The young prophet has also received his portion of hard cash as well as mining claims, while Zimbabwean hospitals have no cancer machines and thousand are dying every day.
The highly respected and teacher of the word Prophet Makandiwa became Mnangagwa’s latest man of the cloth to endorse the Harare regime when Munangagwa and his Deputy Chiwenga attended his highly packed Easter Conference in Chitungwiza. Makandiwa was quoted saying ‘’It is never the responsibility of the government to create jobs for you’’. The creation of an environment is their responsibility so that you and I prosper and we have that opportunity in Zimbabwe. There is something wrong with a citizen who keeps complaining and shifting blame, Makandiwa said “. However the same government he says should not create jobs has itself been promising those jobs. One hopes that religion is not going to be used by preachers, whom people are following in good faith, to shield the government from accountability and delivery of public services in line with electoral promises. The recent endorsement of Manangagwa by Makandiwa became the final nail on all the famous pastors and preachers in Zimbabwe on which how Zanu Pf has managed to capture all of them.
However Zimbabweans should not lose sleep about how all these prophets are endorsing Mnangagwa one after the other as this is normal in a game of politics, rather Zimbabweans should continue to heed the call by renowned journalist Hopewell Chin‘ono to continue to register to vote in numbers.

ZRP Targets “Illegal” Vendors

Police in Harare Metropolitan Province on Wednesday, 27 April launched an operation targeting pirate taxis and illegal kombis (mushikashika) and illegal vendors.

The operation will also target unregistered cars, street kids controlling traffic and vendors at intersections.

In a statement, Harare Province Deputy Provincial Police Spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Webster Dzvova said:

The Zimbabwe Republic Police, Harare Province, will conduct an operation to restore sanity and decongest the Harare Central Business District and greater Harare.

The operation will include our stakeholders, including ZINARA, VID, Ruwa Local Board, Chitungwiza Town Council, Epworth Local Board, Harare City Council and the Department of Social Welfare.

The operation will be conducted in all Harare Police districts.

Asst Insp Dzvova said Mushikashika vehicles are contributing to congestion during peak hours in Harare’s central business district. He said:

As Harare Province, we are worried about the congestion during peak hours, and a number of criminal cases emanating from these mushikashikas, and non-ZUPCO commuter omnibuses and buses.

He also warned members of the public against boarding Mushikashika as they may fall prey to robbers. Said Asst Insp Dzvova:

A number of robberies, rape and theft cases have occurred in which victims fall prey to these illegal transporters who misrepresent themselves as transporters, through mushikashika.

We have declared war against these mushikashikas.

We will continuously impound the mushikashika and arrest the drivers. We, hereby, appeal to commuters to avoid mushikashika. Only ZUPCO buses and omnibuses are allowed to operate.

Those with private vehicles are encouraged and warned against picking up strangers as passengers as they may end up being robbed of their motor vehicles.

Motorists should adhere to the rules and regulations of the road like stopping at traffic lights.- H- Metro

Butcher Loses Shop For Sympathising With President Chamisa

By- A butchery operator, in Kadoma has been kicked out of his rented shop for supporting the CCC party.

Nicholas Marufu claimed that he had been evicted from rented premises at Tandara Shopping Centre in Kadoma for allegedly hosting Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) activists.“The problem started after CCC supporters were seen buying meat from my butchery while wearing party regalia on April 23. After that, Memory Simango gave me notice to vacate the property by the end of the month,” Marufu said.
Simango owns the premises.
“She had verbally given me notice to terminate the lease, but I told her I was not accepting the termination of the lease agreement on political grounds.”
However, Simango dismissed Marufu’s claims, accusing him of being a bad tenant.
“In fact, he must be negotiating with me because he has not been paying rent for four months. Marufu is supposed to pay US$50 as rent, but he is failing. I was away last week and I was phoned by people asking me if I knew anything about the political meeting being held at the shop and I said I was not aware,” Simango said.
“They said it was not safe and right for business premises to be used for political gatherings. I called him to discuss, but he failed to turn up. I later locked the fridge at the shop hoping that he would come to meet me so that we could talk, but he did not. He instead shamelessly went to the shop and broke the fridge lock. He is just a problem and worse he has no butchery or shop licence, he rides on mine.”
In a written response to Simango, Marufu said he wanted compensation for improvements to the premise.
“I need full compensation for those developments. I also need a full calendar year notice for such termination of lease. I agreed on a five-year lease agreement with you when I commenced operation on these premises,” Marufu wrote to Simango.
“Take note, during the COVID-19 lockdowns, I continued paying rentals although I was not operating. The rent I was paying was for future business operations. It is not fair to evict me on political grounds less than six months after we resumed operations. Newsday

Tower of Babel And The Promised Land

Sabbath School Summary
BY ELDER DR MASIMBA MAVAZA
All Nations and Babel
Lesson 5
Memory Text: “Therefore its name is called Babel, because there the Lord confused the language of all the earth; and from there the Lord scattered them abroad over the face of all the earth” (Genesis 11:9, NKJV).

Introduction.

After the Flood, the biblical account shifts from a focus on the single individual, Noah, to his three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. The particular attention on Ham, the father of Canaan (Gen. 10:6, 15), introduces the idea of “Canaan,” the Promised Land (Gen. 12:5), an anticipation of Abraham, whose blessing will go to all nations (Gen. 12:3). However, the line is broken by the Tower of Babel (Gen. 11:1-9). Once again, God’s plans for humankind are disrupted. What was supposed to be a blessing, the birth of all nations, becomes another occasion for another curse. The nations unite in order to try to take God’s place; God responds in judgment on them; and, through the resulting confusion, the people get scattered throughout the world (Gen. 11:8), thus fulfilling God’s original plan to “fill the earth” (Gen. 9:1, NKJV).
In the end, in spite of human wickedness, God turns evil into good; He has, as always, the last word. The curse of Ham in his father’s tent (Gen. 9:21, 22) and the curse of the confused nations at the Tower of Babel (Gen. 11:9) will, eventually, be turned into a blessing for the nations.
SABBATH: Since Creation, God’s will has been interrupted by Man’s will. The Antediluvians carried on the sins that led to the Fall. God chose to bless Noah & his 3 sons, specially Ham (father of Canaan) whose name implied the Promised Land, where all nations would be blessed through Abraham (Gen. 10:6, 15, 12:3, 5). By the Tower of Babel, the line to bless all nations was broken (Gen. 11:1-9; 9:1).

SUNDAY: Ham saw his father’s sin a tale to relate to others & he was cursed (Gen. 9:18-27). The sin of Noah echoes Adam’s sin in Eden; eating of the fruit, nakedness, a covering, a curse, & a blessing. He lost self-control, got naked & Ham “saw” him (Gen. 3:6). Unlike Ham, his brothers covered Noah (Exod. 20:12, Eph. 6:2). Amid the curse on “Canaan” was a blessing (Dan. 9:27, Isa. 66:18-20, Rom. 11:25).

MONDAY: The age of Noah makes him a link between the pre-Flood & the post-Flood civilizations. Noah likely heard stories from his father, Lamech, about Adam & could relay the stories to his line prior & after the Flood. Bible genealogy 1. gives history about real people 2. builds a link between past & present & 3. tells the fatal effect of sin (Gen. 10, Luke 3:23-38, see also Gen. 46:27, Exod. 24:9, Deut. 32:8, Luke 10:1).

TUESDAY: Those who lived after the Flood decided to build a city & in it a Tower to take the place of God & unite in one body. God had told them to replenish & disperse (Gen. 11:1-4). Their actions echo that of God in Creation (Gen. 11:3, 4; Gen. 1:6, 9, 14, & 26). Satan led them to build a tower to escape another flood (Isa. 14:14). Nations unites to fight God in Daniel (Dan. 1:2, 2:43, 11:43-45; Rev. 16:14-16).

WEDNESDAY: No man can reach up to God, save through Christ. In the Tower of Babel, we find any human attempt to replace God & declare oneself as self-righteous as folly. While men were going up, God had to come down to them. Only God can save, Jesus indeed came down to us (Gen. 11:5-7, Ps. 139:7-12, 2:4, Luke 1:26-33, PP, p. 123). God confused the builders to stop more evil. He cares for us!

THURSDAY: One aim of the Tower was to stop people from scattering abroad. Their act was an attack on God’s charge for them to disperse, replenish, & subdue (Gen. 11:8, 9, 9:1, 1:28). They sought to use their united power for evil. The fame they sought ended in shame (PP, p. 123). “Babel” means “door of God” & relates to “balal” (means confuse). In trying to replace God (reach His door) came confusion.

FRIDAY: Artisans of the Tower of Babel hoped that their city would be the metropolis of a universal empire. They had disobeyed God by refusing to disperse, replenish, & subdue. The tower was to be a testimony to the wisdom & power of its makers. The men doubted God that He would not again bring a flood. Some linked the Flood to nature & not God. The tower was an escape from any danger.

—Ellen G. White, “The Tower of Babel,” pp. 117–124, in Patriarchs and Prophets.

Keywords

PP- Patriarchs and Prophets

Canaan- It’s from the verb kana‘, meaning “subdue.” It is through the subduing of Canaan that God’s people, the descendants of Shem, will enter the Promised Land and prepare the way for the coming of the Messiah who will enlarge Japheth “in the tents of Shem” (Gen. 9:27).

Curse on Ham- It is a gross theological mistake & ethical crime to use this text to justify racist theories against anyone. The prophecy is restricted to Canaan, Ham’s son. The Canaanites engaged in corrupt practices (Gen. 19:5–7, 31–35).

Genealogy- There’s a direct link between Adam and the patriarchs (Matt. 1:1-17). The mention of 70 nations foreshadow the 70 members of the family of Jacob (Gen. 46:27) and the 70 elders of Israel in the wilderness (Exod. 24:9). Along the same line, Jesus sends 70 disciples to evangelize (Luke 10:1).

Lamech- He was Noah’s father & was 56 years old when Adam died. He must have told stories about Adam to his son.

Discussion Questions

? What example do we have from history, or even the present, of the trouble that can come from those who seek to make a name for themselves?

? How can we, as a church, avoid the danger of seeking to build our own Tower of Babel? What are ways we might actually be seeking to do this, even subconsciously?

ZUPCO’s Killing The Economy: Union of Drivers And Kombies:

ZUDAC STATEMENT ON THE CURRENT PUBLIC TRANSPORT CRISIS IN ZIMBABWE.

We hope to find you well. Our transport situation has failed to improve and it has been for decades. We appreciate the efforts being made by the government to address the crisis. The Covid pandemic forced the government to suspend all private kombi operators from offering transport service.

Whilst we agree that the government had to act to protect the public from the Covid 19, we feel that the suspension of private Kombies has now made the situation worse than before as such it needs a review.

Zupco should not be disbanded but we need a supplementary transport system from private Zimbabwean operators.

Zupco must be given routes to operate and private operators the same.

It is important to note that private operators include pensioners, war veterans, war detainees, war collaborators, disabled people, general Zimbabwean citizens and drivers.

The bringing back of Kombies is going to bring a positive impact on our economy. The first signs will be the government’s revenue generation and the income per capita.

The nation of Zimbabwe is now subject to rape, robberies, murders and accidents. It is now evident that Zupco is now providing transport to less than 40 percent of our people and 60 percent from private illegal operators.

Further more the economy has been slowed down by the delays encountered by all workers on reporting for work. This is totally negative to the already struggling economy.

As Zudac we continue to urge the government to review the Covid pandemic statutory instrument of 2020. The statutory instrument makes it an offence for anyone to operate public transport business outside Zupco franchise. This program has exposed our government to a ZWL1, 2 billion debt.

The program has killed compliance for both drivers and vehicles. Vehicles are nolonger going for VID periodical examinations with drivers failing to renew their defensive and medical because they are no longer paid adequately. Inflation is always wiping out their salaries which are always late. The Zupco program has brought suffering to GVT, operators and public countrywide.

The Union engaged the President’s Office Utilities Committee, Local GVT Minister, Home Affairs ministry, Min of Transport and the Parliamentary portifo Committee for local government and transport. What surprises us is that it is taking time for us to get a respond on our submissions.

The transport crisis has lacked coverage from all our newspapers and radios as they are focusing more on politics and social media adultery affairs of celebrities.

The social media is also awash with non productive issues and sideling challenges facing communities. Zimbabweans we must spare time for progressive patriotic thinking.

The morale of Drivers and Conductors is very low because of poor salaries and bad working conditions.

Transport at Zupco is now being run by the wrong people who do not value safety of the public and welfare of workers.

Zupco is doing well on marketing but doing nothing on corruption, competence and welfare of operators and drivers.

As an organization we are there to give our government the right information for sound planning and policing.

Our enforcement is now caught in between poor planning and public disobedience on the transport policy. ZRP and VID are now finding it difficult to impound vehicles belonging to big Names. We know our President does not like this in any way.

Our police and VID must be allowed to execute their constitutional obligation thereby eliminating rogue elements.

We would want to convey our heartfelt condolences to all families of victims of Nkulumane and Chiremba road railway accidents. The accidents happened yesterday the 26 April.

We continue to urge all drivers to follow all road rules and regulations as they are for a reason.

May their souls rest in eternal peace.

Key Information About Immunization Week

Long Life for All

World Immunization

Week 2022 – 24 to 30 April

World Immunization Week, celebrated in the last week of April, aims to highlight the collective action needed and to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.

WHO works with countries across the globe to raise awareness of the value of vaccines and immunization and ensures that governments obtain the necessary guidance and technical support to implement high-quality immunization programmes. The ultimate goal of World Immunization Week is for more people – and their communities – to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

This World Immunization Week 2022 campaign page will be updated regularly in the lead up to and during World Immunization Week.

A Long Life for All is not a promise, it’s an ambition.

Because everyone deserves a chance at a fulfilling life.
One where we’re free to pursue happiness.
And look back without wondering “What if?”.

Vaccines have been indiscriminately saving lives since 1796.
The first Smallpox immunization was a fight back against disease.

For the first time, it gave everyone a chance.
And hundreds of vaccines later,
Across two and a quarter centuries.
Billions of people have lived longer lives.
Grown up to become firefighters. Doctors. Musicians.
Fathers. Mothers. Brothers. Sisters.
Vaccines might not get credit for that first kiss.
That winning goal.
That special day.
That final hug.
But their worth isn’t just measured in doses given.
It’s in minutes given back.
And lives prolonged.

Vaccines provide opportunity and hope for all of us to enjoy a more fulfilling life.
And that’s something we should all be fighting for.
Vaccines, in the pursuit of a long life well lived.

Health Board Takes Over Gushungo Stand At Trade Fair

For years, the family of the late former President Robert Mugabe maintained a stand at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair for its company Gushungo Holdings.

The late veteran leader’s Alpha Omega Dairy company has since folded, and the famous stand has been taken over by the Health Services Board.

Mugabe’s empire started to collapse in 2017 when he was ousted from power after ruling the southern African country for 37 years.

Reports say Mugabe’s companies survived on patronage and nepotism as government departments stampeded to buy “expensive” products to secure favours from the first family.

As back as 2019, reports suggested that Alpha Omega Dairy was auctioning its several properties including vehicles and farm equipment.

The courts have also done less to help the situation as they have in most cases ruled against the Mugabes.

Resultantly, the former first family has been forced to vacate some properties or pay huge sums of money they owed to individuals and companies. – Pindula News

Malema Challenges Zimbabweans To Vote Mnangagwa Out

By- Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), leader Julious Malema has challenged Zimbabweans living in Africa should go home and vote out Zanu PF in the 2023 elections.

Malema said Zimbabweans should not feel too comfortable in South Africa but should know that a prosperous Zimbabwe is a solution to the problems of South Africa.

Speaking at the Freedom Day celebration in Tshwane on Wednesday, the former ANC youth leader said President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his South African counterpart, Cyril Ramaphosa are equally clueless.

 Said Malema:

Mnangagwa is as clueless as (Cyril) Ramaphosa. They are Siamese twins. We are making a plea to all Zimbabweans living in South Africa that when you are here you are home and feel at home.

When they are elections go and vote and remove that nonsense and come back if you want.

The people of Zimbabwe must rise and go to vote for a proper government in Zimbabwe.

Let’s help each other so that we become one big happy family.

When they are elections go and vote and remove that nonsense and come back if you want.

The people of Zimbabwe must rise and go to vote for a proper government in Zimbabwe.

Let’s help each other so that we become one big happy family.

Mavaza Writes: Hopewell Chin’ono ‘s Explosive Sunday Mail Article

…Hopewell Chin’ono, at the time of writing his article to the Sunday Mail, had rational views about US led sanctions imposed against Zimbabwe…

By Dr Masimba Mavaza| Zimbabweans have seen a crop of people who stand and pledge to soil their country. We have seen people who are so dedicated to make Zimbabwe look evil in the eyes of the world.

Dr Masimba Mavaza

But on the top of the list of such subversive and treasonous acts comes Mr Hopwell Chin’ono who knows no other words but to vilify and insult Zimbabwe.

Hopewell has a vendetta against Zimbabwe and he actually dares the police to arrest him so that he gets some form of recognition where he will be portrayed like a hero.

In a way best described as treason, Hopewell vomited profane and perverted utterances against Zimbabwe. He did this to please his handlers and he knew his lies would earn him a cell in a jail. When he arrived home behaving like a witch who was caught during a session Hope was quiet, his tail between his legs, his tongue a bit taimed. He expected to be arrested or something bad happen after his rant, but he has been ignored and his handlers are in a quagmire. They don’t know how to react after Zimbabwe decided not to arrest this fork tongued journalist.

In a rare positive but real point, Dr Mzembi on Twitter said, “By the way I forgot to complement GVT of @edmnangagwa for showing extraordinary maturity over the prompting that was being done on these streets by some overzealous lot to arrest @daddyhope upon his return from an overseas trip . This is as it should be!”
Zimbabwe having a fair share of lunatics one fella and a known hooligan, Job Sikhala responded to Mzembi’s Twitter by saying “they aborted it not voluntarily, but the world clearly warned them not to cross that path. Don’t forget @daddyhope was at a UN organ summit. They were clearly told not to persecute him for exercising his right to speech at an international platform. These people are damn evil.”

One can obviously see that the bitterness in Job Sikhala’s tweet is as a result of a disappointment that the government did not waste time on a dare devil who dares the enforcement system to execute the law.

On the whole, it’s clear, that Hopeell Chin’onos sale by date is nigh. His behaviour has shown that he is schizophrenic and a mercenary, no principle!

In the past few years Mr Hopwell Chin’ono has been, with some measure of success in the eyes of the fickle and frail minded, succeded in re-enacting and modelling himself as a symbol of light in Zimbabwe’s politico-media arena.

Mr Chin’ono has intensely manufactured and branded his hitherto uninspiring image not just as a so- called campainer and advocate for human rights but also as “a martyr of incredible valour.”

Mr HC has, to the guilliable, been able to achieve this grafted and most unnatural image of himself through greed, self interest and above all through a vengeful spirit.
Chin’ono had tried to be given a very high post by the government of Zimbabwe. This he was doing so that he becomes a planted agent of the enemies of Zimbabwe.

In 2017 Hopewell Chin’ono tweeted in response to the late Dewa Mavhinga. “I am still shocked that there are Zimbabweans who are not political enough to know and understand that sanctions against Zimbabwe will not affect Emmerson Mnangagwa but their mothers and fathers in the townships and villages scattered around the country.
When a government is denied a line of credit and falls to raise foreign currency to import fuel it is ordinary Zimbabweans-that will sleep in fuel queues not Emerson Mnangagwa.

We are currently for diaspora’s bite to be granted so that our compatriots abroad can exercise their rights to vote. How do you expect a sitting president not allowed to go and campaign in the diaspora due to Zidera sanctions to grant that right.

I just couldn’t wrap my head aroundDewa Mavhinga’s request to the US government to retain the current foreign policy around Zimbabwe a foreign policy which is anchored on the The Zimbabwe Democracy and
Economic Recovery Act of 2001 which has punitive economic sanctions against Zimbabwe.
Dewa Mavhinga said and asked the US government to, and I quote him; “Maintain
existing US policy toward Zimbabwe until the
military removes itself from politics and the 2018 elections are legitimately assessed to be
peaceful, transparent, free and fair and that power is smoothly transmitted to the newly elected government.”

All the things he spoke of have been overridden by his request to maintain a foreign policy
which includes sanctions on Zimbabwe.

I would understand if Mr Biti and his gang had said that they had engaged the Zimbabwean
government and that the new President and his government did not respond positively.
They haven’t even engaged the new administration whose ministers have only been
in office for exactly eight working days.”

Hopewell at this time he was seeing sense or was he. Immediately after this Hopewell Chin’ono attacked the late Dewa Mavhinga a USA funded activist made to spread negativity about Zimbabwe. After this attack on Dewa, Hopewell approached the second highest office in the Republic promising to shed more light on how treacherous people like Biti and Chamisa were. The appointment was approved since every public office in the new dispensation government operates on *Open door policy mantra.

It’s at this meeting when he begged for a high post position at ZBC or Zimpapers. The answer he got was more or less similar to some morning dew chiefly because there was a need for security check on the persona of Hopewell Chin’ono. Resultantly, Hopewell failed the test. He took no time before he started to join hands with the same people he once had described as enemies of the State.

So it is clear that Hopwell Chin’ono is not only a liar but a bitter unpatriotic evil person and a witch among us.

Now if someone enters in the public arena and makes a living by scandalising his country and others he triggers people to scrutinise him. He has elected himself as a man of integrity and a moral giant fighting for Human Rights. He has elected himself as a freedom fighter.
If you scratch under the skin you will find out this is self interest and vindictiveness. It does not matter if he is telling the truth or not. The truth which is forged for a wrong motive is worse than the Lies. Hopewell’s truth is curved out of vindictiveness and bitterness.

Many would be acquainted with Mr Hopewell Chin’ono’s virulent criticism of the government of Zimbabwe of the new dispensation. Some will also be acquainted with his instiable appetite for cohabitating with the detractors of our country, particularly the West.

The natural product of his illicit relationship with the West is not only that he has become their distinct yoyo and mouthpiece but that more worryingly that he has trumpled over principle and patriotism to reach out to the funding of his handlers.

Mr HC is earning a livelihood by attacking not only the institutions of our country and some of its finest citizens but by also attacking the credibility of their characters, their programmes and their motivation.

While some may be hoondwicked or even convinced by Mr HC’s narratives and seducing antics, it is fair to let the nation see who he really is and what his motivations are.

Chin’ono is best described by who he is not, than the opposite. He is not a democrat. He is not a fighter for human rights. He is not even concerned about ordinary Zimbabweans. As a matter of fact he does not even believe an ounce of what he says and writes about Zanu PF or its leaders. In fact Hopeless Chin’ono is a man of no principled conviction. In the core of his character, behaviours and actions must be discerned a vile sense of greed and most unnatural selfishness. I would take three fundamental aspects of his commentary and purported convictions that graphically illustrate his breath-taking hypocrisy.

1. Commentary on foreign Issues:
On 13 December 2017 Mr HC wrote an article which was published by the Sunday May. He made the following remark on the the illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the USA and the EU: “When a government is denied a line of credit and fails to raise foreign exhange to buy fuel, it is the ordinary citizens that sleep in fuel quees, not Emmerson Mnangagwa”.

In the same article and refering to Mr Dewa Mavinga ( an incorrigible and shameless US mouthpiece himself) stated: ” I just couldn’t wrap my head around Dewa Mavinga’s request for the US government to retain its current foreign policy around Zimbabwe…”.

Hopewell Chin’ono is a fairly intelligent man. His ideas on foreign and domestic policy were clear and logical when he wrote this article. He is at a remote place now, from where he was then. His grand departure from his previous position is only explicable on the basis of a most deplorable gymnastic and shattering hypocrisy.

Mr Hopewell Chin’ono, at the time of writing his article to the Sunday Mail, had rational views about US led sanctions imposed against Zimbabwe. He needs to explain himself to the Zimbabweans as to why and how the beautiful butterfly degenerated into an ugly caterpillar.

Hopewell had similarly rational and progressive views on domestic policy. For example, on the diaspora vote he wrote, in the same article “….how do you expect a sitting president not allowed to go and campaign in the disspora due to ZIDERA sanctions to grant that vote?”

Mr Chin’ono had unsparing and sharp views about the opposition. In the same article he appropriately becried “Biti and his gang” ‘s failure to engage the government of Zimbabwe in rushing to denigrate the country in the USA.

Clearly Hopewell knows and appreciates the values and virtues of engagement and collaboration which he touted in that article. Today Mr Chin’ono is the very opposite of an engager. He is an agitator.

Seemingly Mr Chin’ono has undergone transformation. In practice he is the same old selfish schemer. The article he wrote and the views he expressed, although logical and sane, were not driven by patriotism or by any decency at all. Mr Chin’ono designed and penned the article purely as a bait for a job at The Herald or ZBC. Therefore the Twitt was an insencere act in auditioning.

Soon after the publication of the article by the Sunday Mail, Mr HC approached the authorities for a job at The Herald . While the usual pre-employment checks were being conducted, Mr HC either took fright or he lost patience and abondoned his quest. There and then his old pretentious life ceased and a new feigned life commenced.

Mr HC’s new forms of hypocricy and insincerity are underpinned by a clear and profound spirit of vengenance against Zanu PF and against the government following his failure to get an automatic job at The Herald. The man has a childish sense of entitlement and he handles himself as if the country owes him a living.

Furthermore, in much the same way MrChin’ono tried to prostitute himself to Zanu PF for a position, he has found himself a home in the bed of Zimbabwe ‘s detractors where he is prostituting himself for fame and fortune.

The nation, therefore, must see Mr Hopewell Chin’ono for the man he is: a mercenary who will shamelessly make U turns while castibg himself as a valiant sacrifice.

It is a shame that we have many Zimbabweans who have been fooled by Hopewell Chin’ono the man who has destroyed people’s lives by his lying. The man who is not ashamed at all for plunging Zimbabwe in sanctions while he is paid thousands for demonising Zimbabwe.

But Chin’ono must remember that Zimbabwe is quenched in the blood of those who loved and died for it. Zimbabwe will never be defeated by a bunch if traitors posing as journalists or maybe pretending to be politicians.

Zimbabwe is the only country we can call ours in the whole world so we must defend it with the last drop of our blood.

UN Confronts Mnangagwa Over Human Rights Abuses

By-The United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator to Zimbabwe, Edward Kallon, has urged the Government to create a conducive environment that allows Zimbabweans who have emigrated to return home and contribute to the development of the country.

Kallon also implored western countries to remove targeted sanctions that they imposed on Zimbabwe at the turn of the millennium.

Kallon made the remarks while speaking at a media briefing in Bulawayo on Tuesday 26 April on the backdrop of the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, celebrated annually on April 24

He said Zimbabwe should address human rights abuses and ensure free fair credible elections, among other things. Said Kallon:

I don’t think any Zimbabwean wants to go to another country and I would end by also encouraging the government to make sure they have an enabling environment facilitated for Zimbabweans to come back and rebuild this beautiful country.

You have the human resources, brilliant Zimbabweans who have common interests and natural endowment.

You need foreign direct investment but it is not going to come in the volumes required to push this country forward if sanctions are in place.

That’s why we are saying review sanctions. We call on the government to address human rights abuses, ensure free fair credible elections, open up civic space and encourage civic participation.

I’m sure Zimbabwe will be the Zimbabwe it used to be, a country so strategic with an endowment that it can make its people live a very, very comfortable life.

In response, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Nick Mangwana deplored xenophobia, saying Zimbabwe is ready to assist its nationals in South Africa. Said Mangwana:

It’s really sad (that) we at this stage of African solidarity, unity, multilateral approach and borderlessness, I would say the affairs and situation where Africans are discriminated against by Africans.

It’s tragic that these xenophobia sentiments are being whipped and in some cases politicians.

Should there be any of our nationals who want any other type of support they should approach our embassy in South Africa and they will arrange to give the support that is needed.

Earlier this month, Zimbabwean Elvis Nyathi was brutally murdered by a mob in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, for not having a passport.

South Africans blame foreigners for the high levels of crime and unemployment in that country.

CCC Broke To Hold Congress

By- The Nelson Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change has said it was too broke to hold an elective congress before the 2023 elections.

Dudula Thugs Speak On Beating Up Foreigners

By- The regional coordinator of Operation Dudula in Rustenburg, Rollance Mabula, said that their members were patriotic, and not xenophobic.

The anti-migrant group was expected to launch its North West branch in Rustenburg on Wednesday.

The vigilante-like group claims it is targeting drug dens, unregistered businesses and undocumented foreign nationals who they accuse of engaging in criminal activities and stealing jobs from South Africans. Said Mabula:
We are having a problem with illegal immigrants occupying job positions that are supposed to be occupied by South Africans.
How should I feel when I see people from out of this country coming to make our children prostitutes here?
Members of Operation Dudula sing songs that have derogatory lyrics to refer to foreigners but Mabula insists the group is not xenophobic.

Warriors Star Suffers Racial Discrimination In Spain

UD Llanera goalkeeper Martin Mapisa was a victim of racist abuse during a Spanish Segunda B Division match against CD Palencia Cristo Atletico on Saturday.

The Warriors international, who is on loan from Zamora CF, was at the receiving end of shouts by the home team’s (Palencia) supporters, who repeatedly yelled at him expressions like monkey and macaque during the match.

The incident was brought to the attention of the match officials who warned the fans over the stadium’s public address system to stop that behaviour.

Palencia Cristo has now formally apologised to Mapisa for the racist insults received. The club also said it is investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and take action, and is even considering closing the north end of the stadium for the next match.

“From CD Palencia Cristo Atlético we want to show our outrage and “strongly condemn the outrageous racist insults” that occurred in last Saturday’s match,” the club said in a statement.

“First of all, our apologies to Martín Mapisa, on behalf of the club and all our fans, nobody deserves these insults that do not represent our club or our fans.

“There is no place in sport or in society for any kind of discriminatory behaviour. Such repulsive behavior goes against the sports spirit, the values of our club and a total lack of respect for all the people who, with their work and effort, try to make football serve as a benchmark of union between different communities, social sectors and countries around the world.

“These incidents only reinforce our club’s commitment to fighting all forms of discrimination, the club will take action in this regard by applying the harshest possible punishment to all those responsible.”

The statement continues: “From the club we hope that the requested collaboration takes effect and the identification of the person in charge is completed, otherwise the club cannot fail to act accordingly and in the absence of identification of the person in charge, the fund sector will be closed north (among other measures) from which these repulsive and intolerable behaviors took place, for the next meeting in La Balastera.

“Our fans must understand that if action is not taken there is no point in showing a conviction in writing as it would be forgotten, in these cases everyone must act, we the first to show an example, those who have heard it They must identify it because the facts harm the club, it harms the responsible fans who are the vast majority and above all it harms our city and the sporting spirit.”- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Ancelotti Slams Madrid Woeful Defending

Carlo Ancelotti admitted Real Madrid must improve for their second leg against Manchester City next week, and will need the ‘magic’ of the Bernabeu to help them reach the Champions League final.

City lead Real 4-3 after a brilliantly entertaining first leg at the Etihad on Tuesday, but the Blues let two-goal leads slip three times as Ancelotti’s men gave themselves a fighting chance at the Bernabeu next week. Karim Benzema scored a brilliant double either side of Vinicius Jr’s solo goal in a game of high quality between the leaders of the Premier League and La Liga.

After the game, Ancelotti was full of praise for City but said Real’s defending was below what he would expect.

He told BT Sport: “As a supporter of football, it was a fantastic game, but as a manager of Madrid… we scored three important goals but didn’t defend so well, we could have defended better. We conceded two goals so early. We were able to react, we did well to keep the game open. We have a great dream to play the second game in the Bernabeu. We hope we can have chance to go to the final.

“This team, these players are able to not lose mind when things aren’t good. We did the same, the first 20 minutes were really difficult. After that, slowly, we came back into the game and kept the qualification open.

Asked if Real will need some ‘magic’ at the Bernabeu next week to reach the final, Ancelotti said: “We need it because we are going to play a really strong team, they showed fantastic quality today. We competed but we have to compete more in our stadium.”

Meanwhile, Karim Benzema, echoed his manager’s calls for magic in Madrid as he told Movistar: “We are going to say we lacked a bit of everything in this game – a bit of ambition, pressure, confidence.

“A defeat is never good because we are really excited about the Champions League. The most important thing is we never lay down our arms, we are all in this until the end.

Now we have to go to the Bernabéu and we will need our fans like never and we are going to do something magical, which is win.- Manchester Evening News

Value Of Immunization

Former Referee Dismisses Bosso Penalty Claim

“There was  a pulled shirt starting from outside the box, and ended up inside, so what it means is, the decision was correct,” he added.

Robbers Who Robbed, Drugged, R_aped Pastor Hauled To Court

By A Correspondent- A United Methodist Church pastor was allegedly robbed, drugged and gang-raped by four men from Epworth who had broken into her house in Dema in September 2021.

The accused persons are Ronald Mambo (32), Palace Gwinhi (30), Tinashe Nyamayaro (34) and Cuthbert Homakoma (32).

The suspects pleaded not guilty when they appeared before Chitungwiza regional magistrate Clever Tsikwa facing two counts of robbery and rape.

The trial is expected to continue on 4 May with the complainant giving her account.

Prosecutor Trinity Nyandebvu alleged that on 16 September 2021, at around 11 pm, the accused persons broke into the complainant’s house.

They reportedly threatened to assault her with iron bars and knobkerries if she tried to call for help.

It is further alleged that the assailants demanded valuables and they ransacked the house and robbed the complainant of US$250 cash.

The suspects also stole an Acer laptop, two Tecno cellphones, a car battery, five blankets, an exhaust sealer and groceries among other things.

The four men then ordered the complainant to drink a sour substance from a wild cat container and the complainant felt weak.

Homakoma allegedly forcefully raped the complainant twice without using protection.

The court further heard that the complainant made a report to the police and was referred to the hospital where she was medically examined.

Meanwhile, on 8 December 2021, Mambo and Gwinhi were arrested on other charges and after interrogation, they implicated the other two accomplices leading to their arrest.

On 9 December 2021, the four accused persons were placed on a formal identification parade which was recorded by a static camera.-statemedia

The complainant positively identified Homakoma as the one who raped her on the day in question.

Rituals Gone Wrong- Man Kills Own Family, Neighbours, Workmates

By A Correspondent- In a bizzare development, a recent guest on Tilda Live Zim (Zvinotyisa) confessed he was responsible for the death of his parents, wife, kids, several relatives, neighbours and workmates.

The man was a farmworker in Glendale and he thought of finding favours from his employers and gain power and wealth.

He then approached a certain sangoma who gave him some muthi and other things he would use to achieve his goal.

He said things were working out perfectly well at first but after some time misfortunes started happening in his family.

From the man’s narration, it appears it was a case of rituals that went wrong and he could not open up to his family.

He said his only option was to kill his father first and he made him collapse after he did certain rituals on a grave.

His mother’s death came soon after his father’s demise, followed by his other two siblings leaving him and his other sister.

He also confessed to being responsible for the death of other farm workers.

He said he became jealous whenever their employer appeared to be showing favours to others and this led him to perform rituals against them as well.

According to the man, he killed his wife and four kids

Deborah Fraser Asks For Prayers

Deborah Fraser

By A Correspondent- Veteran gospel singer Dr Deborah Fraser, who is now using a wheelchair for mobility, has pleaded with South Africa to pray for her because of her illness.

Dr Deborah Fraser (56) has had diabetes for many years now and she revealed that this could be why she is now in a wheelchair. From February to March 2021, she was hospitalised after falling ill on her way to a gig at Klerksdorp in the North West.

I was unconscious, even the artists that came there said I should be transported to hospital. I still cannot walk. I think it’s because I was in bed for a long time, but I don’t know for sure. It’s stressful to live a life that you’re not used to. I’m asking for love, I’m asking for prayers.

The gospel doyen shed more light on her immobility:

I went to different doctors and they said it does happen and it’s just a matter of time, so I am waiting for that. It will take time for me to go back to walking. If there isn’t a major problem. They have to check it thoroughly. If nobody is supporting me and I don’t walk slow, I fall. Even the way you place me on a couch, you need to be careful. I can’t walk alone and can’t try to walk because I lose direction. When I have to go to the left I go to the right and vice versa. I get dizzy

Dr Fraser said despite being in the wheelchair, she would not drop the microphone and stop singing. She added that her voice and hands are not affected, so she will continue singing.

Watch her speak about her condition earlier this month.

Harare City Council Boss Caught In Stinking Land Scam

By A Correspondent

A senior city of Harare employee is accused of corruptly distributing land to desperate residents, swindling the local authority of thousands of dollars in the process.

Following a letter we published on the 12th of March titled: “https://www.zimeye.net/2022/03/12/exposed-city-council-boss-corruptly-distributing-land-via-own-ben-10/ “ Our journalists managed to investigate into the tip and it all came out as had been stated.

Principal town planner Miss Rita Chipo Barbara Mugocha (45) is indeed involved in the corrupt parcelling out of land through her part time live-in boyfriend and Ben 10 one Kudzai Elton Mawondo (33).

On the 13th of December, Mawondo approached Mugocha with information that his boss, Kuziva Mamvura had alerted him that they as City Council Of Harare had stated that there is available land along Samora Machel.

Mugocha, over the phone, admitted that indeed the land was available but she needed her money first for deposit to institute action into processing the land for them.

She gave a figure 1500USD and stated that her cut from the deal was 10 percent which meant she would get 150USD.

Kudzai Mawondo then further went on to connive with her to put the figure at 2500USD so that in the event the boss was to negotiate they would end up settling at 2200USD as the last figure.

He enquired if it was achievable and she assured him as long she got her cut that was attainable. Before closing the deal she then asked what percentage she was getting from the extra mark up to which he offered 30 percent and she declared she wanted 40percent from the 1000USD that was the extra mark up.

The two lovebirds later settled for 35 percent and Mawondo went on to inform his boss.

There seemed to be a misunderstanding as Mugocha was not willing to engage “a surveyor “ unless she had received her share and Mawondo then assured her that she would be handed the money at the site directly and he was not being given the money first in such a way that she would assume he would con her over the deal.

With corroborating chats that followed; Mawondo then tried to have the exact location of the said land and Mugocha refused to budge wanting her money first as Mawondo had conned her in the past in other deals and also on a personal level. In her exact words she highlighted “Pay me first and the work will be done, you will appreciate you have conned me in our business deals before and twice on a personal level, I would be anything but naive to trust you now” Mawondo assured her he had changed and likened himself to Paul who was once a glorified sinner as Saul. When he then went to her office at Cleveland land and contacted her after he found her office closed she then informed him she was home down with COVID and he could gladly drop the money at her house.

There seemed to be tensions until Mawondo gave in to giving her 800USD and him taking home 200USD from the extra mark up.

On the 30th of December 2021 the two lovebirds proceeded to inform each other of another meeting the Boss Kuziva Mamvura had instituted at his offices and there lay another 750USD that Mugocha was to collect.Mawondo informed her to prepare so they could go together to which she responded she was already heading out to town.

Mawondo felt betrayed as the point person between this deal but she assured him she wasn’t going to leave him out.The two then liased to meet at Chance shops.

The meeting went ahead as planned and money exchanged hands and the two congratulated each other on a job well done of their illicit deals and Mawondo concerned ; urged his sugar mama to put snuff “bute” on the money so they could do something meaningful on all these transactions and it wouldn’t waste away.

She then assured him that now the buck lay on pushing her paperwork as principal town planner and all they had to do was wait. For a job that would normally require 3 months she assured as the “Boss” at Council she would have it done in 3 weeks.

These transactions carried on until 2 stands were specifically created for Kuziva Mamvura and ZimEye.com has all the evidence to cement this.

As corruption is a deep root and a lot of names were dropped in the conversations
Who is Conrad? How deep also is the District Surveyor implicated in this?Have investigations been instituted or COH is covering up for Mugocha? How many deals of this sort has she done and gotten away with yet trusted with the public to hold such an office.

We will be proceeding with airing live some of the conversations and audios.

Both Mugocha and Mawondo were not immediately available to give their side of the story pertaining to the allegations.

Cancer Machines: Govt Slammed Over Comedian’s Death

By Robert Mukondiwa| It begins with a C. It isn’t Clive or Chigubu. It’s cancer. That he was in pain and couldn’t get medical attention should never escape our minds.

That he had been booked for an appointment and arrived to see the place closed should be scandalous to ‘normal’ people in ‘normal’ circumstances.

Early detection where no interventions exist doesn’t save lives, its a death sentence.

That he fell ill and could only see the ENT (ear, nose and throat specialist) on a Friday because they are available one day a week should anger you….but it doesn’t. Because death by cancer is not a priority.

Medical equipment to give cancer patients a fighting chance is not important is it? Clive has just made his final joke and it’s that our health system (system indeed) is itself a joke. But nobody is laughing.

His death won’t move anyone into action. He’s not a priority. He’s just another young Zimbabwean whose life has been cut short by cancer.

He has ceased to be Clive and become a statistic. Another brick in the wall. I’d planned to see him on Thursday.

To me he was not just another Zimbabwean comedian. He was the best in the business by a country mile.

Now he has dropped the mic in the cruelest fashion and his most sadistic joke. He leaves a 5 year old girl confused at being fatherless. Now it is a funeral that I’ll have to attend. And like thousands of dead Zimbabweans he died nowhere near a radiotherapy machine.

An accident of geography found him being born in our piece of the world and like millions dead from cancer before him, we let him down. Clive; forgive us!

Sorry State Of Cancer Machines Irks Zimbabweans

By A Correspondent- Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN) journalist Robert Mukondiwa has bemoaned the sorry state of cancer treatment in Zimbabwe following the death of stand-up comedian Clive Chigubhu from the disease.

Chigubhu passed away on Wednesday, 27 April around 5 AM after he was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B cell lymphoma (DLBCL), a type of cancer.

DLBCL is a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), a cancer of the lymphatic system.

Mukondiwa also lost his mother to the disease after she failed to get treatment at local hospitals.

In a post on his Facebook page, Mukondiwa said Chigubhu, just like thousands of dead Zimbabweans, died nowhere near a radiotherapy machine. He wrote:

Recalled By Mwonzora, Unwanted By Chamisa: Former Mutare Mayor Sees Fire

Former Mutare mayor, Blessing Tandi was last Friday labeled a traitor and barred from attending a Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) provincial assembly meeting presided over by party president Nelson Chamisa.

Sources who attended the meeting revealed that Tandi was barred by security after a directive was given by the party’s provincial leadership.

“Despite being recalled by Mwonzora for secretly working with Chamisa, Tandi was barred by security at the gate. They told him he was not allowed to attend Chamisa’s meeting with the provincial leadership. Trinity Manjengwa was one of the leading CCC’s securities who chased away Tandi, who could be heard begging to be allowed entry,” said the source.

The source added that security was given a directive by CCC Manicaland Chairperson, Prosper Mutseyami and senator Keresencia Chabuka to block Tandi from getting inside the venue where the national leadership was addressing.

CCC Manicaland spokesperson David Panganayi expressed ignorance over Tandi’s predicament.

He said if Tandi was refused access to the meeting it was on grounds that he currently does not hold any position within the party.

“I am not aware of his being barred from the provincial assembly. What interim position does he currently hold? It is unfortunate that he was barred from a meeting he was not invited,” said Panganayi.

He added that a provincial assembly is a meeting for particular positions within the party and invitations were sent accordingly.

Panganayi distanced Mutseyami from the chaos, indicating the provincial chairperson and women’s chairperson were not responsible for selecting people who attend meetings.

“No such directive was given. When we inform police of our intention to hold any public gathering, they require us to give them in writing all the expected guests. How was Tandi’s name going to be included when he was not invited?” he said.

Crypto and Bitcoin Trading in 2022 and Beyond: Pros and Cons

Are you thinking of entering the bitcoin market this year as a trader but wonder about the various opportunities and risks unique to 2022 and beyond? Anyone who plans to buy, sell, invest, trade, save, or otherwise speculate on crypto, particularly bitcoin (BTC), should be keenly aware of how current political events, economic trends, and other circumstances impact the alt-coin space.

Perhaps the best way to acquire a thorough understanding of BTC and other top alt-coins is to study the latest developments in the cryptocurrency markets, research the recent price activity of BTC, examine the many opportunities and risks, and learn what it takes for newcomers to succeed in one of the most exciting asset classes of all.

Latest Developments in Crypto Markets

For everyday investors, it’s becoming much easier to buy and sell digital currencies like bitcoin, Ethereum, and others. One reason is that the leading brokerage firms have begun offering alt-coin trading on their websites.

The expected future of BTC and the entire sector is bright. Several factors play into the long-term success of the asset, including rising acceptance by merchants, increasing use by consumers, government policies that have generally made it easier for citizens to acquire cryptocurrency, and the continued price rises of BTC amid a highly volatile global economy.

Learning how to trade bitcoin with AvaTrade is a straightforward process. The brokerage walks new account holders through each step. In under an hour, traders can be buying and selling the world’s most capitalized crypto in whatever manner they prefer.

The long-term future of alt-currency is extremely positive. Even with wide price swings, many investors have learned to catch short-term spikes for significant profits.

Bitcoin as Market Leader

When people speak about blockchain and financial markets, as well as digital money, they inevitably mention bitcoin almost as a synonym for the asset class. There are many reasons for that phenomenon. First, BTC is the most capitalized of all cryptocurrencies.

Currently nearing a total value of $1 trillion, the worth of all coins in existence far surpasses any other alt-coin. Another reason it’s leading the segment is its price history.

For starters, BTC has a longer history than any of its competitors. It was the first of its kind in 2009 and essentially spawned the growth of an entirely new form of money.

Not only is bitcoin easy to buy and sell, but consumers can also spend it, save it, store it, accumulate it in accounts, lock it into digital cold wallets, and stash it into retirement accounts for long-term growth potential.

As the only market leader the sector has ever had, bitcoin’s success has had a deep impact on the performance of hundreds of its competitors.

Opportunities

If you trade any alt-coin as a part-time or full-time endeavor, it’s critical to be aware of the opportunities within the asset class during the 2020s, which could turn out to be a golden age for cryptos.

In addition to virtually unlimited upside potential for the price, all current signs are pointing toward widespread acceptance within the next several years. Among consumers, traders, and investors, demand is growing.

One reason BTC’s capitalization total increases regularly is higher demand. All it takes to calculate capitalization is to multiply the price by the number of coins owned by all holders. Even amid huge swings in value, capitalization rises consistently.

There’s another factor behind rising demand. What investors call stacking is the simple accumulation of an asset, like gold or bitcoin, for the sole purpose of long-term appreciation.

They aren’t interested in short-term trends, financial news, or current events. They merely wish to acquire their preferred asset and stow it away for the future. It’s an old-fashioned way of doing things but can offer potentially massive payoffs for those who have the discipline to follow the method. One other component of demand is the recent trend toward staking.

Right now, BTC does not pay interest on staked assets, but it might do so in the near future. Ethereum and other coins do offer staking rewards, which are close to earning interest on the cash you put in a savings account.

Risks

Everything comes with risk, and digital currency is no different. Note that for many investors, the potential rewards of ownership clearly outweigh the risks. Otherwise, the asset would not be so popular. Risks include extreme price volatility, pyramid schemes, potentially strict government regulation, the loss of anonymity for users, and tax reporting requirements that could take a number of burdensome forms.

For New Traders

What are BTC’s pros and cons from the viewpoint of traders? Accounts are easy to set up, and the top brokerage firms allow multiple ways to own, trade, and invest cryptos. Account holders can buy alt-coins directly, acquire shares of crypto-backed funds, or use CFDs (contracts for difference) to speculate on price moves without owning the underlying asset.

Fortunately, brokers work hard to deal with some of the challenges that come with owning a digital asset. Because it’s not so easy to understand the technology behind alt-coins, most brokers offer extensive educational resources that include library access, trading simulators, and webinars.

Mealie meal Price Shocks Consumers

By A Correspondent- The recent increase in mealie meal prices by 50% has irked consumers across Zimbabwe who are saying it has become unaffordable due to poor incomes they are earning while most of them are not formally employed.

The mealie meal retail price increase saw a 10kg bag of roller meal going up from $1 099  to $1 665, equivalent to US$11,10 according to the official exchange rate.

Most consumers said they do not have stable jobs and have huge families

Save Mlambo said the government must review mealie meal prices as a basic commodity as many families are starving due to unreasonable prices.

Grain Millers Association of Zimbabwe (GMAZ) chairman Tafadzwa Musarara said the decision to hike prices came after the Grain Marketing Board (GMB)  increased the price of white maize by 50%  from $50 000 to $75 000 per metric tonne.

“The new price structures will further push ailing Zimbabweans into deep hardship, considering that many are still earning salaries that are way below the Total Consumption Poverty Lines, amid research findings establishing that 49% of the country’s population is living in extreme poverty,” Musarara said

ZRP Speaks On Nkulumane Horror Crash

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed an accident that occurred in Bulawayo after a commuter Omnibus (kombi) collided with a haulage truck Tuesday morning.

Six people were killed and 11 others hospitalised.

The kombi was coming from Pumula South carrying commuters when it collided with the moving heavy goods truck at the intersection of Khami Road and Masiyephambili, close to the Nkulumane Complex.

National police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:

The ZRP confirms a fatal road traffic accident which occurred at the intersection of Masiyephambili and Khami Road today at 5AM where six people died while 11 others were injured.

A non-Zupco Toyota Hiace kombi with 17 occupants went through a red robot (traffic light) and rammed into a moving truck before it was trapped between the horse and trailer and dragged for about 30 metres.

The kombi landed on its roof.

Six people were already dead when the Bulawayo Fire Brigade arrived at the scene at 5.55 AM, 10 minutes after getting the call, a spokesman said.  The spokesman said:

The Brigade extricated the trapped and the commuter omnibus was turned to stand on its wheels using a winch.

Three ambulances ferried the injured to Mpilo Central Hospital.

Kombis are banned from carrying commuters, except for those registered with monopoly transporter ZUPCO, but the government’s failing public transport system forces many to use “mshika-shika” – unlicenced transporters to get to work.

One Person Dies In Head On Collision

By A Correspondent- One person dies while seven others among them five family members from Cowdray Park cheated death by a whisker when a Toyota Vitz collided head on with their Mazda Familia at a 70km peg along Harare- Bulawayo road.

Bulawayo City Council Acting Chief fire officer Lynos Phiri confirmed the accident.

“The driver of the Toyota Vitz, Hove Mackerel (31) from Mpopoma died on the spot after he was found trapped inside his car. Five out of the seven people that were injured are Mushevedzi family members from Cowdray park but had no injuries sustained, while details of the two more victims were not yet obtained and were all conveyed to Mpilo hospital,” Phiri said.

He said one vehicle might have encroached on the line of the oncoming traffic and collided head on resulting in serious damage.

Phiri said the vehicles were thrown to the sides of the road as a result of the impact, indicating that ages of the Mushevedzi family members varied between 3 to 32 years.

New Twist To Noah Taguta Exhumation Saga

By A Correspondent- Clements Momberume, the brother of the late Johane Marange Apostolic church leader Noah Taguta has been granted an interim interdict barring the sect from using the sacred burial shrine in Mafararikwa Village, Mutare where Taguta was buried.

The legal challenge could result in the exhumation of his remains from the sacred Chinyamukumba Mountain in Marange.

Momberume was granted a prohibitory order by Mutare High Court last Wednesday.

He filed the application through his lawyers, Maunga Maanda and Associates, under case number 353/22, on the basis of the separation of family and religious affairs.

The order was filed and awarded last week Wednesday, which is on the same day Taguta was buried at the church’s shrine, amid squabbles between church leaders and Momberume who also runs a splinter group dubbed the Johane Marange (Simon Branch).

The first and second respondent includes Saratiel Taguta and Titos Taguta respectively, brothers to the late High Priest.

Mutare magistrate, Langton Carter, granted an interim relief order and further hearing on the matter is set for April 29. Reads the order:

The 1st and 2nd respondents, their agents or proxies, are barred from interfering with the gravesite of the late Johane Muchabaya Momberume at the southwestern side of Chinyamukumba Mountain Range in Taguta Village, Headman Mafararikwa, Chief Marange.

Pending the return of this matter, the 1st and 2nd respondents, their agents and proxies be,  and are hereby barred from pointing, marking, preparing for burial site of the late Johane Machabaya Momberume, which is at the south-western side of Chinyamukumba Mountain Range in Taguta Village, Headman Mafararikwa, Chief Marange.

The interim order further barred respondents from burying Noah Taguta at the sacred summit of the Chinyamukumba Mountain Range.

The Johane Marange sect violated the interim order, as in the past, where it went against a number of court orders by Momberume, a direct sibling of the late Johane Marange Momberume, who was the founder of the apostolic sect.

There has been a longstanding brotherly feud between late Noah and Momberume.

Tenant Evicted For Supporting Chamisa

By- A Kadoma butchery operator, has been evicted for supporting the CCC party.

Newsday

Pogba To Join Real Madrid?

Paul Pogba has reportedly told his teammates that he will be leaving Manchester United with PSG and Real Madrid being potential destinations.

There have also been rumours that the France international could rejoin Juventus in Italy.

The French midfielder, who is not expected to play for United again this season after picking up an injury, entered his final six months of his current deal at Old Trafford, and negotiations for a new contract between the 29-year-old’s representatives and United have stalled.

The EPL club offered the player a new contract last year but nothing has been agreed on yet.

According to the Daily Mirror, it’s now certain Pogba is leaving United and has already told his teammates that he is on his way out. The midfielder is even said to have left the WhatsApp player group the squad uses to stay in touch.

Meanwhile, Jesse Lingard, Nemanja Matic, Edinson Cavani and Juan Mata are also expected to leave the club on free transfers during the summer window.

This is happening as Old Trafford has announced that Ajax coach, Erik ten Hag will be joining the struggling club at the end of the season.- Soccer24 Zimbabwe

Robert Mugabe Jnr Speaks On Dad’s Demise

By- Robert Junior Mugabe has said that his father , the late former President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, died a painful death after being sick for a decade.

Robert Jnr told a local interview with local media in an interview.

My dad was sick for a long time – over 10 years.

It was a matter of time. So, for those 10 plus years, we knew as a family that dad was sick and [at] any time the doctor can tell us he has a couple of days or months to live.

But that day never came. So I guess within those 10 plus years, a lot was going on; emotional rollercoasters, so we spent as much time with him.

He (Mugabe) came to Singapore for his treatment and that’s when he stayed a couple of months

But those five to six months when he was there, that’s when he was most ill. He wasn’t coming out of bed, he wasn’t walking and he didn’t want to eat. He was sick to the point [where] he was in a wheelchair.

My mom would bath him and I would, at times, come help. It’s a lot seeing someone who used to take care of you at a point where they can’t take care of themselves. It’s painful.

Mugabe Junior’s remarks likely represent the first time a family member has opened up about the veteran leader’s struggle with failing health which was a closely guarded secret during his long reign.

Mugabe died in September 2019 aged 95 at the specialist Gleneagles Hospital in Singapore, some three years after being toppled by a military coup.

While in power, the veteran leader would draw criticism from the opposition and commentators over the cost of his regular annual trips to Singapore for medical checkups.

At the time foreign media claimed that the Zimbabwean strongman was receiving treatment for prostate cancer. Gleneagles Hospital is renowned for its specialist cancer services.

Mugabe was buried at his rural home in Zvimba, Mashonaland West against the government’s wish to have him interred at the National Heroes’ Acre in Harare.

My Wife Bashed Me With A Spoon

The below video is from the incident when the former ZB Bank chief executive Ronald Mutandagayi (59) was filmed by his step daughter bashing his wife last year, the video which quickly went viral

The ex-CEO has since dragged his wife to court, accusing her of perpetrating domestic violence, after earlier saying the footage was old and lacks full context.

Mutandagayi, whose video of him bashing his wife, Loveness (48) went viral last year, is accusing her of assaulting him with a wooden spoon and unlawfully disposing of their property worth US$100 000.

Last year, Mutandagayi issued a statement saying:

“I have noted with regret that there is video footage circulating on social media suggesting that I assaulted my estranged wife. Whilst the circumstances of the event cannot be attributed to me alone, it is important in that regard to put the record straight.

“The unfortunate circumstances surrounding the incident occurred on 2 January 2021 after three consecutive days of severe assault and harassment on my person. It is surprising that only two months later is when such footage is issued. The bona fides of such action is questionable.

“Further, it is regrettable that the video footage only shows a certain portion of the incident obviously meant to sell a certain narrative. Nonetheless, I am mindful of my right to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Since the matter is currently pending before the Courts, I shall let the law take its course.”

Loveness appeared before magistrate Tafadzwa Mhiti and was remanded to May 17 for trial on free bail.

The State alleges that between January 14 and 28 this year, Loveness disposed of the couple’s property worth US$100 000, taking advantage of the complainant’s poor health.

The State alleges that the couple’s domestic worker confirmed to him that his wife had taken a number of household items.

It is alleged that Loveness bashed Mutandagayi with a wooden spoon after confronting him over a missing car steering wheel.

Mutandagayi later locked himself in a room. Loveness allegedly instructed one Samantha Mamvura to capture the fight with her husband on video.

It is alleged that their relationship turned hostile, prompting the banker to seek alternative accommodation.

While he was away, Loveness disposed of more household property worth US$95 000.

Mahere Mocks Mnangagwa

Tinashe Sambiri|Citizens’ Coalition For Change spokesperson Advocate Fadzayi has mocked the Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa over frantic attempts to rig the economy.

Despite Mr Mnangagwa’s empty bravado, the economy is dwindling with each passing day.

Commenting on the pathetic state of the economy, Mahere said:

“Economy haina chitsotsi. Njuga dzarema…”

“Vakamboti heee mapera, hamuna plan. Now moto urikubvira and they want to direct which log goes where. Hanzi furidzai makadai moto wenyu unyatsobvira.”

Schools Opening Next Week

Schools will reopen for the second term on Tuesday next week under strict compliance with Covid-19 prevention and management protocols to ensure a safe environment for learners.

Monica Mutsvangwa

In January, Government came up with a school calendar with 184 learning days following a long break from classes in 2021 owing to the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw many outbreaks being reported in schools.

The second term is opening 26 days after schools closed on April 7 and will run for 69 days until August 4.

Speaking at a post-Cabinet briefing yesterday, Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, said learning institutions will open on May 3 as scheduled.

“The nation is further being informed that the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is currently preparing for the safe reopening of schools on May 3, 2022 in full compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the Prevention and Management of Covid-19 as well as other Influenza-like illnesses,” she said.

She said the country had been registering a continued decline in Covid-19 cases due to the policies put in place by the Government and the compliance by citizens, making the reopening of schools on time possible.

The Standard Operating Procedures are minimum terms of operation set by the Government last year to ensure all schools operate in a safe environment without risking a spike in new infections.

They prohibit hugs, handshakes and sharing of desks in schools, while break and lunch times are staggered to prevent crowding.

Sporting activities were also banned and classrooms were only allowed to accommodate a maximum of 35 pupils to allow for social distancing.

Zimbabwe National Association of School Heads president Mr Munyaradzi Majoni said all systems were now in place for schools to receive learners.

“On our side as heads, preparations are at an advanced stage for the reopening of schools. Before we closed, some schools had already received PPE from the Government while in other schools, parents were procuring PPE for their children.

“Schools are doing a lot to make sure that we have a safe environment for the learners in terms of Covid-19. Schools are working with SDCs to ensure the provision of adequate protective clothing and equipment,” he said.

Mr Majoni expressed hope that after the negotiations between the Government and teachers, there would not be a repeat of the industrial action which affected the learning process at the beginning of last term.

Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education spokesperson Mr Taungana Ndoro said all protocols for the safe reopening of schools were in place.

“All Covid-19 protocols for the safe reopening of schools remain in place as we anticipate the second phase of the vaccination blitz by the Ministry of Health and Child Care.

“Parents and guardians are advised to prepare their children for returning to school next week so that we contribute to the socio-economic development of the nation,” he said.

The opening of schools, however, will coincide with the winter season which is usually associated with a spike in Covid-19 cases as well as flu-like illnesses as evidenced by the rise in cases in the past two winters.

Zimbabwe entered the third and worst wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in July last year and the Government has been pushing to ensure that all eligible citizens get vaccinated against the disease.

The inclusion of the 14 to 15-year-old age group in the vaccination programme helped to ensure that most learners in secondary schools and some in Primary schools were protected.

Since the launch of the vaccination blitz last month, over two million vaccines have been administered bringing the cumulative numbers for vaccination to 5 835 047 for the first dose, 3 646 916 for the second jab and 588 440 for the third dose as of yesterday.

Up to yesterday, Zimbabwe has recorded 247 667 Covid-19 cases with 241 500 recoveries and 5 469 deaths.- Herald

3 Men Kill Themselves

THREE men are suspected to have committed suicide in separate incidents in unclear circumstances in Harare and Bulawayo while another man has also been arrested on allegations of killing his wife following a misunderstanding in Centenary as murder cases rise countrywide.
The man from Centenary Edward Chizombe (32) struck his wife with a log several times all over her body and she died on the spot.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incidents.

“On April 24, 2022, police in Centenary arrested Edward Chizombe aged 32 for murder after he fatally assaulted wife Cathrine Masiye aged 45 at Mwedziwendira Village, Chief Makope, Cheweshe on April 23, 2022.

Rotary Club In Campaign To Foster Reading Culture Among School Children

By A Correspondent| Rotary club chairman, Walter Nyamurima, has emphasized the need to instill a reading culture in school children from an early age to foster creativity and innovation.

Speaking at the Glenview library in Harare on Tuesday in commemoration of World Book and Copyright Day, Nyamurima stressed that the foundation of a reading culture begins at a young age.

“The important message that I have for the children is twofold: one, we need to promote the reading culture because knowledge is power. Once you have knowledge, nobody can take that away from you,” Nyamurima remarked.

He emphasized, “What we are witnessing here is the manifestation of the abiding passion that we have as Zimbabweans for matters pertaining to education.”

Nyamurima highlighted the necessity for Zimbabwe to have more knowledgeable individuals, stating, “So, it’s important to engage these kids early and instill in them this reading culture and the importance of acquiring knowledge.”

Memory Mungana, the project manager of Glenview Library, conveyed their efforts to raise awareness among children regarding acknowledging the authors of the material they read.

“What we want to do is bring awareness to the children. While we encourage them to develop a culture of reading, we also want them to be aware that the material they are reading actually belongs to somebody else; it’s an idea that somebody put on paper,” Mungana explained.

She added, “We want them to read and have an opportunity to open their own minds to their own ideas. They must always be aware that when they are writing or quoting anything from a book, they must acknowledge the author.”

Mungana expressed gratitude to the Rotary Club for the generous book donations to the library.

Health Board Grabs Mugabe Trade Fair Stand

About World Immunization Week

Government To Compensate Tortured Teacher

Harare Magistrate Victoria Mashamba has ordered the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) and two cabinet ministers to pay ZWL$200 000 to a teacher who was arrested, tortured and abused by police and prison officers two years ago.

According to the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR), Munyaradzi Masiyiwa, who is employed as a teacher and is the Deputy Secretary-General of the Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union of Zimbabwe (ARTUZ), was arrested on 16 August 2019 in Harare.

He was arrested at Market Square bus terminus in Harare as he was waiting to board a commuter omnibus to go to his place of residence.

Police officers who arrested Masiyiwa allegedly mistook him for an opposition MDC party supporter as he was wearing a red shirt.

The arrest took place on the day when the then Nelson Chamisa-led party had organised an anti-government protest over the country’s worsening economic crisis.

The police officers who arrested Masiyiwa handcuffed, bundled him into their truck and severely assaulted and tortured him while he lay on his abdomen.

They used truncheons to assault Masiyiwa all over his body before instructing him to make coital movements and simulate as if he was having sexual intercourse with the ZRP vehicle.

He was taken to Harare Central Prison where he was remanded in custody and further assaulted.

Masiyiwa was allegedly ordered by prison officers to strip naked and jump up and down with his hands in the air and was also denied food.

He was eventually cleared of the public violence charges on 7 October 2019.

Masiyiwa engaged ZLHR’s Tinashe Chinopfukutwa who sued ZRP Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga, Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe, Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi and ZPCS Commissioner-General Moses Chihobvu and a police officer only identified as Jambaya.

Masiyiwa demanded ZWL$200 000 in damages for pain and suffering, trauma, contumelia, embarrassment and humiliation.

He told the court that he had been severely abused and humiliated by the conduct of ZRP and ZPCS officers.

Magistrate Mashamba ordered Matanga, Kazembe, Ziyambi, Chihobvu and Jambaya to pay ZWL$200 000 to Masiyiwa as compensation for the ill-treatment.

The penalty was broken down as ZWL$100 000 for pain and suffering and ZWL$100 000 for embarrassment, affront to dignity, humiliation and contumelia. – Pindula News
