Mapeza Sees Red As Warriors Fall

Warriors interim coach Norman Mapeza has opened up on his straight red card in Tuesday’s 3-1 loss against Kenya in the Four-Nation Tournament in Malawi.

Mapeza was sent-off after he protested the referee’s decision to deny Zimbabwe a legitimate penalty following a clear handball inside the box.

The gaffer also stormed on the pitch as players from both sides got involved in the burst-up, and the play was stopped for over five minutes.

Speaking to the media after the match, the gaffer congratulated Kenya for winning the match but blamed the referee for making “unfair calls”.

“First I should congratulate Kenya for winning the match, but to us we played very well mostly in the first half, we sticked to our plan and got the early goal as we planned, but in some moments Kenya dominated before we came back unfortunately we conceded in the final three minutes.

“Then that commotion began, I think there were some decisions that I was speaking, but I think I overreacted then the referee sent me off of course the Kenya coach was also on the pitch, so I think I did not do anything wrong.”

Chivayo Breaks Silence On Embarrassing Divorce

By Showbiz Reporter- Controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has broken his silence regarding his highly publicized divorce from Sonja Madzikanda.

Last year, on his birthday anniversary, Chivayo shared a cryptic message that left many puzzled, including the media outlet H-Metro, prompting the headline: “WICKNELL, WHAT DID YOU REALLY MEAN?”

In the now-deleted post, Chivayo expressed gratitude towards his two children, emphasizing their unconditional love without any financial expectations.

“The only two living people that love me unconditionally,” he wrote alongside a picture of his children, adding, “The rest makateya mari ndiri kukuzivayi hangu.” This statement stirred speculation that individuals outside his immediate family were only interested in financial gain from their association with him.

When questioned about the post, Chivayo dismissed any hidden meanings, asserting it was merely a caption with no underlying messages.

However, with the recent dissolution of his seven-year marriage, questions arise as to whether his estranged wife, Sonja, was included among those he believed had ulterior motives.

Speculation intensified when Chivayo’s post coincided with Sonja’s apparent omission of a birthday message to him. Now, in hindsight, many are revisiting these messages, pondering if they overlooked warning signs of marital discord.

Social media erupted with mixed reactions, indicating that Chivayo’s post may have carried weightier implications than initially perceived.

Despite the turmoil in his personal life, Chivayo has portrayed an image of contentment in recent months, lavishing gifts and monetary donations upon acquaintances, including artists and church leaders.
Notably, amidst the divorce news, Chivayo continued his generous streak, gifting musician Sniper Storm a new car.

This gesture, coupled with his seemingly unaffected demeanor, has left many puzzled about the true state of affairs behind the scenes.

As the public awaits further developments, Chivayo’s cryptic messages serve as a reminder of the complexities that often lie beneath the surface of a seemingly charmed existence.

Sikhala Shipped-Out For Urgent Medical Treatment

Political Reporter -National Democratic Working Group (NDWG) leader Job Sikhala has been airlifted to a foreign hospital for critical medical examinations.

During his incarceration at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, Sikhala endured persistent health issues, including alarming symptoms such as bloody stool and severe abdominal pain concentrated on his left side. Suspicions of poisoning arose due to the nature of his symptoms, prompting the decision for immediate medical attention beyond the nation’s borders.

Darlington Chingwena, the head of information and communication at NDWG, confirmed Sikhala’s deteriorating health condition, stating, “Sikhala embarked on these medical check-ups fully aware of the risks, given the oppressive tactics often employed against dissenters in our country.” Chingwena further elaborated that Sikhala’s overseas treatment was imperative for accurate diagnosis and proper medical care.

Expressing hope for a swift recovery, Chingwena emphasized the urgency of Sikhala’s return, citing the multitude of challenges facing Zimbabweans. “The completion of these medical examinations is paramount, as Zimbabweans eagerly await Sikhala’s return.

Our nation is at a standstill, grappling with soaring inflation, land evictions, inadequate transportation, educational disruptions, and a myriad of other pressing issues. Sikhala’s leadership is indispensable in navigating through these crises,” Chingwena remarked.

Sikhala’s recent health ordeal follows a prolonged period of pre-trial detention spanning 595 days, underscoring the challenges faced by political figures in Zimbabwe’s contentious landscape.

SA Main Opposition Promises ZEP Holders Citizenship

South Africa of the Zimbabwe Community in South Africa, Ngqabutho Nicholas Mabhena, advises beneficiaries of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) not to readily believe Helen Zille’s statements regarding granting them citizenship in the neighbouring country.

Helen Zille, former leader and current Federal Council Chair of the Democratic Alliance (DA), expressed in a recent interview that ZEP holders should be regularized due to their long stay in South Africa and their significant contributions to the economy.

While Zille opposes revoking their permits, she emphasizes the need for proper laws and border control by the South African government.

However, Mabhena warned that political parties in South Africa may exploit the issue of migrants as one of their rallying points in their campaigns. Said Mabhena.

South Africa is in the middle of an election campaign, whose elections will be held on May 29, 2024, and Zille has said holders of the exemption permits should be given citizenship.

Already, there is a court case which wants ZEP holders to be granted Permanent Residence Permits. Now she has taken it up to say give them citizenship.

We discussed an opinion poll by the eNCA and based on that opinion poll, it seems opposition parties are not attracting enough support to the extent that they will dislodge the ANC from power. This poll put support for the DA at 20 per cent.

While the DA is concerned about the borders it has not taken a tougher stance on migrants in SA. This is election season and migration is discussed.

Mabhena suggested that Zille could be using the burning ZEP issue to attract more funding from employers for her party.

 He said:

I am a member of the African Diaspora Forum (ADF) and know a lot of migrants will welcome what Zille is saying but we need to think deeply about the intentions in this election.

This is an election campaign right, is she trying to attract more funding from employers to her party in this election campaign?

She does make a point that migrants have made a contribution to the South African economy but what is her intention in raising this during the election campaign?

I’ve not seen the response from ActionSA which uses migration as its key message and we know ideologically ActionSA is liberal like the DA.

Is Zille trying to draw more funding from employers or is she genuine?

The ZEP, along with the Lesotho Exemption Permits, was extended until November 2025. This decision affects approximately 178,000 Zimbabweans currently living and working in South Africa.

Wicknell Chivhayo Divorce Drama, Details Emerge

By Showbiz Reporter-Controversial tycoon Wicknell Chivhayo finds himself in the throes of a tumultuous divorce saga, with potentially millions of dollars and properties hanging in the balance as his estranged wife, Sonja, unveils the unravelling of their once high-profile union.

The union, sealed in 2017 with a reported bride price of US$50,000, now faces the scrutiny of legal battles and financial negotiations as the couple parts ways after seven years.

Taking to Instagram, Sonja disclosed the dissolution of their marriage, indicating that the separation would soon be formalized, possibly on the first of May.

She expressed gratitude for the support received and affirmed her commitment to co-parenting their children.

With the impending divorce looming, questions arise about the division of assets.

Legal experts suggest that despite Zimbabwean law typically enforcing marriages out of community of property, Sonja may be entitled to a substantial claim based on assets acquired during their marriage.

The intricacies of asset ownership and partnership roles come into play, potentially leading to a significant settlement for Sonja.

Drawing parallels to high-profile divorces globally, such as Melinda Gates’ $76 billion settlement from Bill Gates and MacKenzie Bezos’ $38 billion settlement from Jeff Bezos, the financial stakes of Chivhayo’s divorce saga are palpable.

In past divorce cases like that in South Africa, where a wife claimed R95,000 monthly maintenance and millions towards legal costs, or in Australia, where a wife sought substantial support and property settlements, the gravity of marital dissolution’s financial aftermath is evident.

As the Chivhayo divorce drama unfolds, all eyes are on the impending legal battles and the potential division of assets, marking a significant chapter in the tumultuous personal life of the controversial businessman.

Bus Gutted By Fire People Inside

By Dorrothy Moyo | ZimEye | Pretoria- In a harrowing incident that unfolded early this morning in Pretoria, South Africa, a bus was engulfed in flames, sending shockwaves through the community and prompting calls for increased safety measures. According to eyewitness accounts, the situation quickly escalated, leaving passengers and onlookers in a state of panic.

One witness, known only as Mike, recounted the moments leading up to the inferno, highlighting a sense of disbelief and despair. Wearing a red t-shirt, which he lamented had “fallen like a sack,” Mike expressed a profound sadness over the event. He implored others to be more vigilant, suggesting that a simple act like looking out the window upon waking could make a significant difference in such emergencies.

“Yhoo guys, I hope everyone will travel well because life is more important than a bus,” Mike stated, emphasizing the value of human life over material possessions. His statement encapsulated the sentiment of many on the scene, underscoring the suddenness of the tragedy and the importance of community solidarity in the face of such challenges.

Speculation about the cause of the fire was rampant among the witnesses. “Did something explode?” Mike pondered aloud, reflecting the confusion and fear that gripped those present. He further advised that in the wake of such incidents, the best course of action is to distance oneself from the danger, a strategy echoed by emergency response teams who later arrived at the scene.

The incident has sparked a wave of concern among residents of Pretoria, particularly those in the vicinity of Brave Heart House and the broader community known as Many Houses. The local community group, “Watch With Your Relatives,” has called for an immediate investigation into the cause of the fire, stressing the importance of implementing preventive measures to avert similar tragedies in the future.

Sengezo Tshabangu Calls Self Genuine Opposition Voice: Fact or Fiction?

By A Correspondent

In a bold assertion of his political stance, Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim Secretary General of the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), has declared himself as the authentic voice of opposition in Zimbabwe.

However, his assertion is met with skepticism from many quarters, labeling him as a puppet of the ruling Zanu PF party, allegedly tasked with undermining political adversaries of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Tshabangu’s claim to be the genuine opposition voice is not without controversy.

Many view him as a figure manipulated by the ruling party to sow discord among opposition ranks, rather than serving as a true advocate for democratic change. Despite these doubts, Tshabangu remains resolute in his conviction, dismissing detractors and affirming his role as the sole legitimate opposition force in the country.

In a recent statement, Tshabangu defiantly asserted, “Let them do whatever they want to do, say whatever they want to say, but the authorities know the truth well, there’s no two ways about that, the real opposition lies in our hands and we’re the only party that’s entitled to get the funding, all these are just pretenders, time will tell.”

These words underscore Tshabangu’s unwavering belief in his cause and his confidence in the righteousness of his claim.

However, they also reveal a hint of arrogance, dismissing other opposition factions as mere imposters. The implication that only his party deserves funding and recognition raises questions about his commitment to inclusivity and democratic principles.

Critics argue that Tshabangu’s allegiance to the ruling party undermines his credibility as an opposition figure.

They point to his close ties with Zanu PF and accuse him of serving as a pawn in their political game. By positioning himself as the sole legitimate opposition voice, Tshabangu risks further fracturing an already fragmented political landscape, potentially weakening the opposition’s collective strength against the ruling party.

In response to these allegations, Tshabangu has remained defiant, brushing off accusations of collusion and asserting his independence. However, his actions and affiliations continue to fuel skepticism among observers, who question his motives and sincerity.

The controversy surrounding Tshabangu highlights the complexities of Zimbabwe’s political landscape, where allegiances shift, and loyalties are often muddled.

As the country navigates its path forward, the role of genuine opposition voices remains crucial in ensuring accountability, transparency, and democratic governance.

In the midst of these debates, one thing remains clear: the struggle for political reform in Zimbabwe is far from over.

Whether Tshabangu emerges as a genuine champion of change or a pawn in a larger political game, only time will tell. Until then, Zimbabweans must remain vigilant, scrutinizing all voices claiming to represent their interests and holding their leaders accountable to the principles of democracy and justice.

His triumph marks a milestone in Senegal’s democratic journey and serves as a beacon of hope for the continent as a whole.

Amidst the jubilation following Faye’s victory, Advocate Chamisa, a prominent figure known for his advocacy in Africa, expressed his elation and optimism.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chamisa hailed the development as “GOOD NEWS FROM SENEGAL…

The face of Africa is young! #AgainstAllOdds.” His words capture the essence of Faye’s win and its broader implications for Africa’s political landscape.

Faye’s rise to power underscores the growing influence of youth in African politics.

His victory sends a powerful message that age is not a barrier to leadership and that fresh perspectives and innovative ideas have the potential to drive progress and development.

Moreover, Faye’s journey from incarceration to presidency highlights the resilience and determination of political activists in Africa.

Despite facing obstacles and adversity, he remained steadfast in his commitment to democratic principles and the pursuit of a better future for his country.

His ability to mobilize support and galvanize voters demonstrates the power of grassroots movements in shaping political outcomes.

Faye’s victory also reflects the growing demand for accountable and transparent governance across the continent.

As an opposition leader, he symbolizes the aspirations of ordinary citizens who yearn for leadership that is responsive to their needs and committed to upholding democratic values.

His election sends a clear signal to incumbents and aspiring leaders alike that the era of autocracy and impunity is coming to an end.

Furthermore, Faye’s presidency holds promise for Senegal’s socio-economic development.

As a youthful leader with a vision for progress, he is well-positioned to address the pressing challenges facing the country, from unemployment to infrastructure development.

His administration is expected to prioritize policies that promote inclusive growth and create opportunities for all Senegalese citizens.

Bassirou Diomaye Faye’s victory in Senegal represents a significant milestone in Africa’s political evolution. His ascent to the presidency underscores the increasing influence of youth in shaping the continent’s future and signals a departure from entrenched power structures.

As Africa continues on its path towards democratic governance and inclusive development, Faye’s triumph serves as a source of inspiration and optimism for the entire continent.

Leave Chivayo Alone : Zivhu

By A Correspondent

In recent times, Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has found himself under intense scrutiny, particularly regarding his alleged involvement in financial irregularities.

Amidst the fervent discussions surrounding his actions, a surprising defender has emerged in the form of Zanu PF official Killer Zivhu. Zivhu’s vocal support for Chivayo has sparked controversy and raised eyebrows, but his reasoning sheds light on a perspective often overlooked in the discourse.

Zivhu’s impassioned defense of Chivayo is rooted in a narrative of struggle and triumph. He portrays Chivayo as a self-made individual who rose from adversity to success, overcoming challenges with resilience and determination.

Zivhu claims Chivayo is a man of humble beginnings, emphasizing the support he received from his mother during difficult times.

In Zivhu’s eyes, Chivayo’s critics are branded as “fools and jealous,” failing to acknowledge the journey he undertook to achieve his current position.

See Zivhu’s statement :

“Those criticizing Sir-Wicknell are fools and jealous.

He struggled in life, facing humiliation and adversity. His loving mother supported him through it all. May her soul rest in peace. How many of you helped him when he had nothing? Now you want to lecture him on how to use it. “

The crux of Zivhu’s argument lies in the notion of personal responsibility and the right to enjoy the fruits of one’s labor.

He questions the legitimacy of others’ claims to dictate how Chivayo should utilize his wealth, particularly when they were absent during his moments of need. Zivhu challenges the hypocrisy of those who now seek to lecture Chivayo on financial management, suggesting that their sudden interest in his affairs stems from envy rather than genuine concern.

While Zivhu’s defense may appear controversial to some, it underscores a broader debate surrounding wealth, privilege, and accountability. In Zimbabwe, where economic disparities are stark and opportunities often limited, the narrative of the self-made individual resonates deeply. Chivayo’s rise from obscurity to prominence symbolizes the aspirations of many striving for success against all odds.

However, the controversy surrounding Chivayo cannot be ignored. Allegations of corruption and misuse of public funds cast a shadow over his accomplishments, raising valid questions about accountability and transparency.

While Zivhu’s defense focuses on Chivayo’s personal journey, it skirts the broader ethical implications of his actions and their impact on society as a whole.

Ultimately, the debate surrounding Wicknell Chivayo transcends individual personalities, touching on fundamental issues of governance, integrity, and justice.

While Zivhu’s defense offers a perspective rooted in empathy and personal empowerment, it should not overshadow the need for thorough investigation and accountability.

In a society striving for progress and prosperity, it is imperative to hold individuals and institutions accountable for their actions, irrespective of their status or background.

As the discourse continues to unfold, it is essential to engage in constructive dialogue that addresses the complexities of the situation while upholding principles of justice and transparency. Only through open and honest conversation can Zimbabwe move forward towards a future built on trust, accountability, and shared prosperity.

South African Socialite Denies Dating Wicknell Chivhayo

Digital content creator and beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase expressed gratitude to Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo for dispelling rumors suggesting they are dating.

Ndamase is currently in Miami in the United States, living her best life but that hasn’t stopped the gossip mongers from spilling tea.

“Meet Mihlali Ndamase’s new boyfriend Wicknell Chivayo,” tweeted Musa Khawula.
“High calorie; Wicknell Chivayo who hails from Zimbabwe and his new beau are currently on vacation in Miami.”

Chivayo took to his official Instagram account to clarify that he was not dating the famous South African media personality.

“This utterly absurd rumour is therefore nothing more than a BASELESS FALSEHOOD originated by some attention seeking blogger known as @The Instigator on X whose feelings and ego were tormented when I posted my latest purchase of a 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre on social media.

“He found an opportunity to find relevance by fabricating a pathetic story out of desperation for online attention,” wrote Chivayo.

The “young black filthy rich millionaire” explained that he understands that his opulent lifestyle does make him trend online for no reason, but with a reputation to protect he had to put a stop to the “spurious and defamatory controversies”.

Ndamase was previously romantically linked to businessman Leeroy Sidambe, who is separated from his estranged wife and undergoing divorce proceedings. Their relationship was the talk of social media.

Teacher Arraigned for Writing ZIMSEC Exams on Behalf of Students

By A Correspondent| A 32-year-old teacher, Bruce Mugadhuwi, employed at Commercial College in Mutare, found himself before the Mutare Magistrates Court, facing charges of unlawfully writing Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) exams on behalf of students.

It is the state’s case that on October 16, 2023, Shellington Brown and Mirriam Maposa sat for a ZIMSEC Mathematics examination at Commercial College in Mutare. Allegedly, both students had arranged with Mugadhuwi to write the examination on their behalf.

Following their plan, the students sat for the examination. Subsequently, upon the submission of the answer sheets, Mugadhuwi purportedly swapped the original answer sheets with those he had written for Shellington Brown and Mirriam Maposa.

The illicit activity came to light in January, coinciding with the release of the exam results, when ZIMSEC withheld results for both Shellington Brown and Mirriam Maposa. Following investigations, Mugadhuwi was arrested on March 22, 2024.

Reportedly, he received USD 380 from Shellington Brown and USD 300 from Mirriam Maposa in exchange for his services.

Mugadhuwi was sentenced to pay a fine of USD 150 for his actions.

Mambo Dhuterere ‘Rejects’ Wicknell Chivhayo Car

By Showbiz Reporter- Gospel musician Mambo Dhuterere, real name Darlington Mutseta, has denied requesting a car from Zanu PF supporter Wicknell Chivayo.

Chivayo is on a spree of ‘gifting’ lavish cars to musicians without restraint.

On Monday, March 25, Chivayo presented musician Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zakaria with a brand-new Toyota Fortuner.

In response, Mambo Dhuterere praised Zakaria for maintaining composure even after Chivayo publicly criticized him. Chivayo had accused Zakaria of interfering in his spending decisions by requesting a car. Mambo Dhuterere posted on Facebook:

If we could be humble sa Nicholas Zakaria and Khiama Boys and acknowledge even ndichiti handina kuresva the other person anogona asina kundinzwisisa.

Sir Wicknell netoshi yaitaurwa still choose happy ending ? l need that ability to ignore all negativity and focus…. This one got me,l did celebrate all gifts to the fullest but iyi ine big lesson kwandiri.l wasn’t humble and focus till now.

Nevertheless, certain social media users perceived Mambo Dhuterere’s Monday post as an indirect plea for a car from Chivayo.

In a Facebook post this Tuesday evening, Mambo Dhuterere asserted that it would be inappropriate for him to seek a car from Chivayo.

He cited the kindness he has received from President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his family.

Within the same post, Mambo Dhuterere disclosed that he battled illness for several months.

Additionally, he had substantial interactions with the First Lady and her twin sons, Sean and Collins.

Furthermore, Mambo Dhuterere said he received generous compensation for creating ZANU PF jingles leading up to the August 2023 harmonized elections. He wrote:

Hanzi Mambo vakumbira pa chikuru ? Truly speaking l will be so, so ungrateful. We were paid 10 times mari yanga tachaja kusvika kumuridzi wema beat.. l heard he bought himself and the guy waakauya naye new cars, ini ndoo pane yandakatengera madam combi.Astrue Muziq bought his first ever car from that, the deal was 1 jingle but we end up tavapa 2 to show our gratitude & report ikauya ichiti the bonus ndoo favourite ya H.E?..

Chamisa Shares Vision For Radical Transformation of Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent| Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has expressed his vision and mandate to radically transform Zimbabwe into a fully developed and advanced modern nation.

In an X posted on Wednesday morning, Chamisa outlined his ambitious goals aimed at fostering a democratic, diverse, and prosperous republic.

“My vision and mandate is to RADICALLY TRANSFORM Zimbabwe into a fully developed and advanced modern nation,” Chamisa tweeted. “This, so that the citizens can live in a democratic and great republic that is more diverse, united, safe, free, just, tolerant, peaceful and sustainably prosperous.”

Chamisa’s declaration comes at a critical juncture in Zimbabwe’s political landscape, as the nation grapples with economic challenges, political polarization, and social unrest. The former opposition leader, known for his vocal criticism of the ruling ZANU-PF party, appears determined to pursue an alternative vision for the country’s future.

In his tweet, Chamisa emphasized the importance of democracy, unity, safety, freedom, justice, tolerance, peace, and sustainable prosperity for all citizens. These principles, he believes, are essential for the advancement and well-being of Zimbabweans.

The tweet has sparked discussions among political analysts and Zimbabwean citizens, with many expressing both support and skepticism regarding Chamisa’s vision. Some view his aspirations as a beacon of hope for a brighter future, while others question the feasibility and practicality of such ambitious goals.

Chamisa’s message also underscores the ongoing debate surrounding Zimbabwe’s governance and development trajectory. As the nation seeks to navigate its way forward, Chamisa’s vision serves as a reminder of the diverse aspirations and expectations of its people.

While Chamisa is no longer the leader of the CCC, his influence within Zimbabwean politics remains significant. His vision for radical transformation could potentially shape the discourse leading up to the next elections and beyond, influencing the agendas of political parties and policymakers alike.

Police To Monitor Easter Prayers

The Zimbabwean government has taken significant steps to mitigate the spread of cholera during the Easter holiday, a period marked by extensive public gatherings, especially in the form of church congregations and religious pilgrimages. Amidst a concerning cholera outbreak with cumulative suspected cases numbering 29,144, these measures are both timely and critical.

Recognizing the heightened risk of disease transmission during large gatherings, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has been proactive in its response. Integrated training programs have been initiated across several provinces, including Midlands, Masvingo, Mashonaland Central, and Mashonaland West. These programs aim to bolster existing healthcare personnel’s capabilities in crucial areas such as case management, surveillance, infection prevention, control, and social mobilisation. Such comprehensive training is indispensable in equipping healthcare workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage and contain the outbreak.

The directive from the Cabinet, as communicated by Dr. Jenfan Muswere, the Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, underscores the government’s resolve to control the situation. All public gatherings during the Easter holidays are required to obtain prior clearance and will be subjected to supervision by health authorities. This step is not only about ensuring compliance with health guidelines but also about actively monitoring and managing the risk of cholera spread in these congregations.

A particularly notable directive involves the mandatory installation of solar-powered or bush pump boreholes by church leaders, aimed at guaranteeing access to safe water sources. This requirement reflects a strategic approach to tackle one of the primary vectors of cholera transmission: contaminated water.

The targeting of known hotspots with community awareness campaigns, oral rehydration points, and the establishment of cholera treatment camps further exemplifies a targeted response to the outbreak. These actions are crucial in not only treating those affected but also in preventing further cases by ensuring communities are well-informed and have access to essential healthcare services.

Collaboration with religious organizations, such as the partnership with the Apostolic Women Empowerment Trust to train interfaith leaders in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces, highlights the government’s recognition of the influential role of religious leaders in community health initiatives. By engaging these leaders, the government aims to foster a collaborative and collective response to the outbreaks of cholera and polio, leveraging the trust and reach of these community figures to amplify public health messages.

The decision to install solarised water facilities and boreholes, as directed by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, at various sites including the Karuyana Shrine, is a testament to the government’s commitment to ensuring safe water and sanitation facilities. This is particularly crucial in areas where such infrastructure is lacking, thereby reducing the risk of cholera transmission among congregations and the wider community.

The expansion of the outbreak beyond the 17 traditional cholera hotspot districts highlights the urgency and necessity of these measures. By taking a multifaceted approach that combines strict supervision of public gatherings, infrastructure development, community engagement, and capacity building among healthcare workers, the Zimbabwean government aims to curtail the spread of cholera and protect public health during the Easter holidays and beyond.

Zim In Stadia Turmoil

THE Zimbabwe Warriors are set to play their next World Cup qualifiers in June on foreign soil amid revelations that the National Sports Stadium and Rufaro Stadium will not be ready to host international matches.

The stadia crisis is also expected to affect Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos who will represent Zimbabwe in Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions.

For the second time, the Zimbabwe Warriors will fulfil their World Cup assignment on foreign soil after the local football mother body (ZIFA) failed to invite CAF inspectors to assess the National Sports and Rufaro stadium on time.

Speaking on the sidelines of a stakeholder engagement in Bulawayo this Sunday, ZIFA Normalisation Committee chairperson, Lincoln Mutasa said they are already working on plan B to host the matches in neighbouring countries.

“We are in a serious crisis given the time frames. We have since started finding an alternative venue and we will inform the nation on the outcome,” said ZIFA Normalisation Committee chairperson, Lincoln Mutasa.

Mutasa said the stadia crisis can only be solved through a multi-stakeholder approach, “Most of the facilities are council owned and given council problems, it will be difficulty to see local authorities give priority to stadium facilities, hence we have advised local teams to reach out to councils and acquire land for stadium construction.”

The crisis is likely to affect Ngezi Platinum Stars, who are scheduled to play in the CAF Champions League and Dynamos, who have CAF Confederation Cup assignments on the horizon.

Zimbabwe played two of their opening World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria at Huye stadium in Rwanda.

Zuma Wins Court Case Against Ramaphosa’s ANC

In a landmark ruling in South Africa’s political landscape, the Electoral Court has dismissed a high-profile application by the African National Congress (ANC) to deregister the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, associated with former President Jacob Zuma. This decision effectively cements the MK party’s place in South African politics, rejecting claims by the ANC that its registration was unlawful and accusing the ruling party of attempting to manipulate the electoral field.

Judge Lebogang Modiba presided over the case, unequivocally stating that the ANC’s application lacked a legal foundation. “We find there is nothing unlawful about the registration of the MK party by the deputy chief electoral officer,” declared Judge Modiba, further emphasizing that the ANC had missed not one, but two critical opportunities last year to challenge the MK party’s registration.

The ruling not only allows the MK party to continue its political activities unimpeded but also highlights a significant misstep by the ANC, which Judge Modiba criticized for its delay in bringing the case to court. The application was filed in January 2024, despite the deputy chief electoral officer’s decision to register the MK party being made clear back in September 2023. The judge dismissed the ANC’s rationale for the delay as “irrational,” pointing out that the party’s acknowledgment of missing the prescribed period for challenge does not excuse its inaction.

This case has broader implications for South Africa’s electoral integrity and democratic processes, challenging the dominance of the ANC, which has governed the country since the end of apartheid in 1994. The unsuccessful attempt to deregister the MK party — closely tied to Jacob Zuma, a polarizing figure in South African politics — underscores the complex dynamics within the nation’s political arena and the evolving nature of political competition.

The ANC’s failure to deregister the MK party is not just a legal defeat but a public relations blunder, exposing internal divisions and a perceived attempt to sideline political rivals. As South Africa moves toward future elections, the presence of the MK party as a registered political entity promises to introduce new dimensions to the political debate, offering voters a broader spectrum of choices.

The ruling by Judge Modiba is a clear message that attempts to manipulate the electoral process through legal challenges must be grounded in substantial legal arguments and pursued in a timely manner. This decision is a victory for the MK party and a cautionary tale for established political powers, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal and democratic principles in the pursuit of political objectives.

Uebert Angel Secret Gimmicks Exposed

By A Correspondent

Recent events have sent shockwaves through the religious community as allegations of abuse of power and manipulation tactics have surfaced against Ambassador Uebert Angel.

The controversy, involving individuals like Jay Israel and Mudiwa Hood, paints a troubling picture of intimidation and coercion aimed at fellow church leaders.

The saga took a dramatic turn when Jay Israel allegedly attempted to extort a hefty sum of USD50,000 from Batsirai Java, the brother of renowned preacher Passion Java.

This extortion attempt has strained relations between Passion Java and Uebert Angel, leading to aggressive actions against Batsirai Java, who has refused to endorse Uebert Angel as a spiritual leader.

Batsirai Java, known for his unwavering commitment to preaching the true word of God, has found himself at the center of a web of intimidation and manipulation allegedly orchestrated by Uebert Angel’s camp.

Reports suggest a calculated effort to coerce Batsirai Java into pledging allegiance to Uebert Angel, using threats and extortion as leverage.

The situation escalated further when Jay Israel reportedly visited Batsirai Java’s office in pursuit of the demanded funds, following an alleged break-in at Java’s residence. Subsequently, cyber attacks targeted Java’s social media platforms and website, adding fuel to the already raging controversy.

These revelations have sparked widespread speculation regarding Uebert Angel’s motives and actions, particularly his frantic attempts to secure endorsements from other church leaders like Makandiwa in the aftermath of these scandals.

An anonymous insider has hinted at Uebert Angel’s potential orchestration of these events behind the scenes, utilizing individuals like Jay Israel to execute his agenda while maintaining plausible deniability.

Concerns about Uebert Angel’s abuse of political office have also been raised, with accusations of power flexing and intimidation tactics reminiscent of organized crime operations.

The insider alleges that Uebert Angel’s recent interactions with Vice President Mohadi and his trip to Malawi are aimed at showcasing his control over political figures, positioning himself as a formidable influencer within the government.

These revelations underscore the critical importance of transparency and accountability within religious organizations.

Leaders must uphold ethical standards and integrity in their actions, lest they succumb to the allure of power and manipulation. As the situation continues to unfold, it is imperative for the truth to emerge and for appropriate measures to be taken to address any wrongdoing that may have occurred.

Only through transparency and accountability can the trust and faith of the community be restored.

Uebert Angel’s USD1200 Charge For ‘Miracle’ Course And Urgent Calls For His Arrest

By Dorrothy Moyo | In this report, we examine the discourse surrounding the announcement by British-Zimbabwean pastor Uebert Angel Mudzanire of an online course on performing miracles, priced at approximately $1200. The announcement has incited a range of reactions from the public, with discussions particularly active on social media platforms such as the DW Africa Facebook page. This analysis will focus on the comments of Facebook users Queen Sandy and Nii Road to dissect public sentiment and the broader implications of such religious offerings in contemporary society.

Uebert Angel charge …

Context of the Announcement

Pastor Uebert Angel Mudzanire, listed among the 20 most influential pastors in 2024, announced an online course designed to teach participants how to perform miracles. The course’s announcement quickly attracted attention due to its cost and the nature of its content, prompting widespread debate about the legitimacy and ethical considerations of selling religious teachings and practices.

Public Reaction

The reaction to the announcement on social media platforms, particularly Facebook, has been a mixture of skepticism, ridicule, and concern. Queen Sandy’s comment, “Our governments need to do something about (Uebert Angel type groups) these churches cause it’s now getting out of hand!! ? ? ? ? ?,” suggests a perception that such practices are becoming increasingly audacious and unchecked. The use of laughter emojis could indicate a disbelief or minimization of the seriousness these types of offerings represent, or perhaps a coping mechanism for the absurdity perceived in selling spiritual miracles.

Nii Road’s response to Queen Sandy, “it’s not funny Sandy, things needs to change, these charlatans should be regulated, pay taxes & prosecuted for offenses,” underscores a more sober and critical perspective on the issue. Nii Road highlights a demand for regulatory oversight, taxation, and legal accountability for religious figures who exploit their influence for financial gain, suggesting a perceived breach of ethical and possibly legal boundaries.

Analysis

The responses from Queen Sandy and Nii Road, though different in tone, both point to a growing public concern over the commercialization of religious practices and the ethical implications of leaders who offer spiritual services for substantial fees. This discussion raises several critical questions:

  1. Regulatory Oversight: The call for government intervention suggests a belief that religious organizations, particularly those engaging in questionable financial practices, should not be exempt from oversight. This perspective advocates for a balance between respecting religious freedom and protecting the public from potential exploitation.
  2. Taxation and Financial Transparency: The demand for taxation reflects a broader discourse on the financial operations of religious organizations. There’s a growing expectation for transparency and accountability, particularly when substantial sums of money are involved.
  3. Ethical Considerations and Social Responsibility: The skepticism and critique of Pastor Uebert Angel’s miracle course underscore a societal expectation for religious leaders to adhere to high ethical standards. This includes the responsibility to not exploit followers’ faith for personal gain.
  4. Cultural and Religious Implications: The debate also touches on deeper issues regarding the role of miracles in contemporary religious practice. It questions the commodification of religious experiences and the authenticity of spiritual leadership that demands financial compensation for divine intervention.

The announcement of Pastor Uebert Angel’s miracle course serves as a focal point for broader concerns regarding the commercialization of religion, the ethical responsibilities of spiritual leaders, and the role of government in regulating such practices. The reactions of individuals such as Queen Sandy and Nii Road highlight a complex web of disbelief, concern, and demand for change that reflects wider societal tensions around faith, commerce, and authenticity in the religious sphere. As these discussions continue to unfold, they will likely spur further debate on the balance between religious freedom, financial ethics, and the social responsibilities of religious leadership.

Gokwe Man Dies After Drinking Guchu

By Staff Reporter- A Gokwe man has died after he allegedly drank a sex-enhancing concoction that a traditional healer had given him.

The traditional healer, Macdonald Ndlovu (49) has since been arrested and will be charged with murder.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said on March 13 at around 8 AM, Chiedza Mdimuranwa (43) of Chireya Village under Chief Chireya in Gokwe North allegedly left her husband, the now deceased Isaac Kabarapate at home while she went to attend her garden at a nearby Ume River.

“Mdimuranwa returned home at around 11 AM and was told by her daughter-in-law that Kabarapate was lying in the bush about 150 metres from their homestead complaining of stomach pains,” he said.

Insp Mahoko said Mdimuranwa went to check on her husband who allegedly told her that he had gone to consult a traditional healer, Ndlovu for a sexual dysfunction.
“He further stated that the traditional healer gave him some herbs to drink after which he started feeling stomach pains and vomiting blood,” he said.
The following day at about 1 AM, Insp Mahoko said, Mdimuranwa and her husband’s brother took him to Chireya Mission Hospital since his condition was deteriorating.
“He died while on the way to the hospital,” Insp Mahoko said.
The matter was reported to police and the traditional healer was picked up by the police and is in custody as investigations continue.

Tshabangu Wins Chamisa Bulawayo Offices Case Days After Meeting Mnangagwa

By Crime and Court Reporter- The High Court in Bulawayo has granted the CCC Bulawayo offices to the self-imposed CCC secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu a few days after he met with President Emerson Mnangagwa.

The High Court ordered the removal of Nelson Chamisa and his alleged supporters from the CCC’s Bulawayo office.

High Court Judge Justice David Mangota ruled that although Nelson Chamisa was not physically in Bulawayo, he is unmistakably associated with those who forcefully occupied the CCC provincial party house located at Stand 41, Fort Street, between 2nd and 3rd Avenue. He said:

Chamisa, in my view, did not have to be in Bulawayo to despoil the applicant of its property. The fact that he could have taken advantage of technological advancements which are currently awash the world over cannot, in the circumstances of the present case, be ruled out,” said the judge in his judgement issued on March 15, 2024.

(Chamisa) must have employed those to achieve his desired end-in view in so far as his despoiling of the applicant is concerned. The old English adage which states, ‘he who acts through another acts himself’ holds true insofar as this application is concerned.

This comes after CCC filed an urgent court application arguing that Chamisa (former CCC leader), allegedly took control of CCC property through agents, assignees, proxies, or employees.

CCC alleged that supporters of Chamisa painted the property and its precast wall in blue and black colours and also displayed Chamisa’s portrait on the property.

Chamisa opposed the application. He distanced himself from those who “despoiled” the property.

He also stated that he hadn’t physically visited the property since resigning from CCC. Additionally, Chamisa denied involvement in any movement, grouping, or political party.

However, Justice Mangota, said neither Chamisa nor his alleged team denied that the walls of the property were repainted in blue and black. Said the judge:

Chamisa, in fact, admits the existence of the blue and black colours which appear on the walls of the applicant’s property as depicted in the photographs.

The judge agreed with CCC and Tshabangu that in despoiling the property, “the dispoliators were acting with, or from, the instructions of Chamisa.” Ruled Mangota:

The applicant proved its case on a preponderance of probabilities. It is, in the premises, ordered that: 1. The application be and is hereby granted as prayed in the draft order. 2. Each party shall bear its own costs.

Chamisa decided to leave the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) in January 2024. He asserted that the CCC had been “contaminated” and “hijacked” by the government.

He also accused the ruling ZANU-PF party of being behind this move, alleging that they abused state institutions to undermine the original purpose and mandate of the CCC.

The party, according to Chamisa, had essentially been “criminally handed over” to ZANU-PF.

Chiwenga’s directive underscores the government’s determination to showcase Zimbabwe’s capability to successfully host and facilitate international events of such magnitude.

The timely completion of road construction projects is essential not only for logistical purposes but also to demonstrate Zimbabwe’s readiness to welcome delegates from across the SADC region.

Unopfeka Hembe Dzebhero: Angry Chivayo Slams Socialite Shadaya

By A Correspondent

Wounded Zanu PF activist and controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has strongly rebuked socialite Taona Shadaya Knight and popular social media figure Tatelicious for interfering in his personal matters.

In a statement released on Monday, Chivayo criticized Shadaya and Tatelicious for attempting to tarnish his reputation.

However, Chivayo’s wife dropped a bombshell on the same day, revealing that they were no longer together, lending credence to claims made by both Tatelicious and Shadaya about the businessman’s romantic issues.

In his statement, Chivayo addressed the rumors circulating about his alleged romantic involvement with Mihlali Ndamase and Mazvi, stating categorically that he does not know either of these women personally or through any business associates.

He attributed these baseless rumors to an attention-seeking blogger known as @TheInstigator on X, who fabricated the story out of jealousy after Chivayo flaunted his latest purchase of a 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre on social media.

While acknowledging that his opulent lifestyle makes him susceptible to trending for any reason on social media, Chivayo strongly condemned those who intentionally deceive their followers by spreading false stories for content creation.

He emphasized that he is a proud father of two children and a successful businessman with an impeccable reputation, and he has no intention of pursuing a relationship with either of the alleged ladies or anyone else.

Chivayo expressed empathy for Mihlali and Mazvi, the women falsely implicated in the rumors, and extended his apologies to them, their families, friends, and partners for any distress caused.

Addressing @TheInstigator, Tatelicious, and Shadaya, Chivayo urged them to consider the consequences of spreading falsehoods on people’s relationships, reputations, and future opportunities.

He emphasized his commitment to focusing on his business endeavors and ensuring his bank balance surpasses those who propagate fake controversies and nonsensical lies.

In conclusion, Chivayo reiterated his dedication to closing significant deals worldwide and maintaining a prosperous financial standing, despite the efforts of individuals seeking to undermine him with false allegations.

Top Businesswoman Unveils Computer Lab, Library In Rural Gutu

Gutu, Zimbabwe – March 23 2024 Divine Simbi Ndhlukula, a prominent philanthropist and award-winning businesswoman unveiled a state-of-the-art computer lab and library programme, at Makudo Business Center in rural Gutu which is also home to Ndhlukula. This groundbreaking initiative marks a significant milestone in advancing education and technology access in the region.

The launch event happened on Saturday, March 23, at the Mbuya Mary Simbi (MMS) Library in Makudo, Gutu. Notably, this initiative coincided with SECURICO’s International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024 celebration, further emphasizing its commitment to empowering communities, particularly women and girls, through education and technology.

In 2021, the MMS Library was inaugurated as a beacon of knowledge and learning in the rural Gutu community. Recognizing the importance of bridging the digital divide, Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula set a key goal to develop a computer lab within the library premises. This visionary initiative marks a significant milestone, with the computer lab being the first of its kind in the district. Its establishment aims to serve seven primary and secondary schools, equipping students with access to digital resources and tools for their academic journey.

The development of the MMS Library and Computer Lab Programme in rural Gutu has been a collaborative effort, with contributions from both individuals and organizations dedicated to advancing education and technology access in the region.

At the launch of her debut book “Entrepreneurial Success: Insights on Growing Business in a Fluid Economy” in February, Dr. Divine committed to raising funds for the realization of her long-held dream of a computer lab for rural learners in her home village. An auction was held and some notable individuals like Ken Sharpe, Gloria Zvaravanhu, Emilia Chisango, and others rose to the occasion which in turn assisted with the hardware

investment. Part of the profits of the book are channeled to the Divine Simbi Ndhlukula Foundation which was instrumental in setting up the library 3 years ago. SECURICO has also been a big benefactor to this initiative as they supported the library infrastructure as well as the human resource costs of employing a librarian, among other needed resources.

Their support underscores the collective commitment to creating a culture of learning and knowledge-sharing within the community as well as bridging the digital divide in rural communities.

Dr. Divine Simbi-Ndhlukula expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support, emphasizing that proceeds from her book will be channeled toward assisting the less privileged.

The lab launch event witnessed a distinguished gathering of key figures from both the public and private sectors, united in their commitment to advancing education and technology access in rural areas.

Among the notable attendees were The Minister of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services-Hon. Dr. Tatenda Mavetera (MP); The Masvingo Provincial Education Director Shylette Mhike. District Education and Area Schools officials, local community leadership Chief Chitsa, representatives from The United Nations Development Programme, the Divine Network, and many friends of the MMS Library. Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between government entities, community leaders, and private enterprises in addressing the challenges faced by underserved communities.

Additionally, the event featured insightful speeches from Ms. Emilia Chisango, who emphasized the role of education and technology in community advancement, and Ms. Elizabeth Magaya, who eloquently addressed the theme of “Inspire Inclusion” for International Women’s Day 2024

This initiative exemplifies the power of partnerships in creating a more equitable and digitally literate society, ultimately paving the way for a brighter future for the youth of Gutu.

During her address at the event, Dr. Divine Simbi Ndhlukula articulated her vision for the transformative impact of donation on the community. With heartfelt conviction, she highlighted the profound value of reading and access to knowledge in shaping the future of the youth in Gutu.

Ndhlukula added, “Within the Mbuya Mary Simbi Library and Lab hangs a colossal world map, inspiring students to dream expansively, transcending the boundaries of their immediate reality. The many books within will undoubtedly propel their minds towards a brighter tomorrow. Now, these young minds can envision a future that extends beyond the confines of their immediate surroundings. In hindsight, I owe my greatest gifts – love, industry, and a passion for books to my parents. Books, the gateway to uncharted worlds for those who dare to dream, empowered me to stand before diverse audiences, to lead experts, and to champion my business.” She said.

Nation Urged To Guard Against TB

Matabeleland North Province’s proximity to neighbouring countries where tuberculosis incidents are high has affected the province’s fight against the disease.

This came out during the World TB Day Commemorations held at Inyathi in Bubi District this Sunday.

Despite the challenges in meeting the global targets of ending TB by 2030, Zimbabwe remains dedicated to fighting the disease. A survivor’s story shared at commemorations to commemorate World TB Day offered a powerful message of hope and recovery.

“I survived TB and it can be defeated if a patient adheres to instructions prescribed by doctors,” said a TB survivor.

The province’s location near countries like South Africa and Botswana, where TB is prevalent, is a contributing factor to the high TB incidence rate.

“Due to the province’s proximity to neighbouring countries such as Botswana and South Africa, the communities go across the borders for trading in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, and Zambia where TB is also rife,” said Matabeleland North’s acting Provincial Medical Director, Dr Nhamo Chivhuru.

The government offers free TB screening and treatment across the country. This commitment aligns with international efforts to end TB.

“Our nation is represented at all international high-level meetings on TB where commitments to end TB are made.

To this day the government of Zimbabwe has lived up to those commitments by ensuring that TB screening and treatment is offered for free,” said Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Richard Moyo.

The Deputy Minister of Health and Childcare, Honourable Sleiman Kwidini said, “TB remains one of the major public problems in Zimbabwe. Let us be reminded that 29 000 people are affected daily globally and more than 3 000 people die everyday from TB.”

Despite the challenges, the fight against TB is showing progress with a decline in cases over the years. In 2021, 1169 cases were recorded, with the figure increasing to 1399 in 2022 however, a decline was recorded in 2023 where 1382 cases were recorded. In 2023, there were 1285 successful treatments and 108 deaths.

National Political Commissar, Dr Mike Bimha this Sunday briefed the media on the party’s candidates for the Mt Pleasant and Harare East Constituencies after concluding primary elections.

Dr Bimha noted that processes were in accordance with the party’s constitutional requirements.

“Harare East had 2 candidates, Mt Pleasant had 4, preps were done in time with distribution of ballots. Overseen by central committee members at polling centres and some from the Commissariat led by politburo members. Kiven Mutimbanyoka won in Harare East, and George Mashavave emerged victorious in Mt Pleasant. These two should prepare their nomination papers on the 26th of March.”

He spoke on the importance of exercising intra-democratic rights.

Mnangagwa Under Fire For Wasting Millions On Propaganda School

By A Correspondent

In a nation grappling with dire shortages of medication and struggling healthcare facilities, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s decision to prioritize the construction of an expensive propaganda school has sparked widespread criticism and accusations of insensitivity.

The Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology, spearheaded by Mnangagwa’s ruling party, Zanu PF, has raised eyebrows and ire among citizens and observers alike. The project, aimed at indoctrinating young people with Zanu PF ideology, has drawn sharp rebuke for its extravagant expenditure at a time of national crisis.

“The decision to proceed with the construction of a propaganda school while hospitals are facing acute shortages is not only reckless but deeply insensitive,” remarked one political analyst, echoing the sentiments of many Zimbabweans.

The stark contrast between the government’s allocation of resources to a propaganda initiative and the pressing needs of the healthcare sector has been starkly highlighted.

Reports of hospitals running out of essential medication and lacking adequate facilities paint a grim picture of the healthcare landscape, while millions are poured into a project deemed by many as politically motivated.

According to statements from Zanu PF Varakashi, the Chitepo School of Ideology is nearing completion, boasting impressive facilities designed to accommodate hundreds of students.

A spokesperson for the party stated, “Its purpose is to educate Zimbabweans to be patriotic,” framing the project as a nationalistic endeavor.

However, critics argue that the emphasis on ideological indoctrination comes at the expense of addressing tangible issues facing Zimbabweans. “While patriotism is important, it cannot serve as a panacea for the systemic challenges plaguing our nation, particularly in healthcare,” remarked a civil society advocate.

The extravagant features of the school, including six classrooms with a capacity of 360 students each, a canteen, information technology center, library, and records rooms, have further fueled outrage among citizens who feel neglected by their government’s misplaced priorities.

In response to mounting criticism, Zanu PF officials have defended the project, emphasizing its role in shaping the nation’s future.

However, for many Zimbabweans, the sight of hospitals struggling to provide basic healthcare while funds are diverted to a propaganda venture underscores a troubling disconnect between the government and the needs of its people.

As the construction of the Herbert Chitepo School of Ideology nears completion, the controversy surrounding its conception and execution serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for accountable governance and responsible allocation of resources in Zimbabwe.

Only time will tell whether Mnangagwa’s investment in propaganda will yield the desired ideological conformity or further alienate an already disillusioned populace.

What Is Plastic Pollution?

Dear Young People
Globally we’re facing a plastic pollution crisis at a scale we have never seen.

But the impacts of this crisis are not felt equally. From the “production” to the “disposal” of plastic, *the most vulnerable communities often experience the worst effects of pollution { Africa is concentrated with these vulnerable communities }

As Young People we can ensure a plastic free environment by advocating for sustainable policies from grassroots levels that will provide consistent removal of plastic waste from our hotspot areas.

As young people we can also indulge into developing skills in green industries, starting or joining green business aimed at turning the tide of plastic pollution into a lucrative enterprise. Most important, we must be willing TO PARTICIPATE in the implementation of strategies to combat plastic pollution, not forgetting that WE ARE AT THE CENTER OF VULNERABILITY!

Tshabangu Hands Over CCC To Mnangagwa

By Political Reporter- The self-imposed secretary-general of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), Sengezo Tshabangu, has surrendered the party’s leadership to Zanu PF.

The unexpected announcement took place during the commissioning of the Pupu memorial site monument in Lupane by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, where Tshabangu met with the head of state.

Addressing the media present at the event, Tshabangu, also serving as the CCC senator for Matabeleland North Province, stated the party’s intention to align itself with initiatives deemed to be in the national interest.

He emphasised the significance of the memorial site, citing it as a pivotal symbol of Zimbabwean history and resilience against imperialism.

“We are here to represent and support government programs that hold national significance,” Tshabangu affirmed, indicating a shift towards collaboration with the ruling party.

However, the CCC’s steering committee treasurer, Mbuso Siso, swiftly rebutted Tshabangu’s statements, asserting that the secretary-general’s declarations did not reflect the official stance of the party.

Siso clarified that Tshabangu’s suspension from the CCC remained in effect and disavowed any claims made on behalf of the party by him.

“His statements at the Pupu event were personal and do not represent the position of the CCC,” Siso declared, highlighting the internal discord within the opposition faction.

Since the tumultuous August 2023 elections, the CCC has splintered into multiple factions, with Tshabangu’s faction accused of exacerbating divisions within the party.

Tshabangu’s actions, including the recall of numerous elected representatives, have drawn criticism for allegedly facilitating ZANU PF’s consolidation of power.

The rift within the CCC underscores the challenges facing Zimbabwe’s opposition movements amid ongoing political turbulence and power struggles.

Mthuli Speaks On Useless Zim Dollar

By Business Reporter- Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube has said Zimbabwe will always have a local currency even though currently, the US dollar is used for 80% of all commerce in the country.

Speaking in Bulawayo, Ncube also said that fiscal and monetary authorities are working on new plans to revive the currency. He said:

We will have a domestic currency, and there will always be a domestic currency so there is no way that we cannot have one.

It’s very important to have a domestic currency so that we don’t just rely on foreign currency only for transactions.

We can only have monetary policy as a macro-policy if you have your own domestic currency. We will have a domestic currency.

On Friday, March 22, the Zimbabwean dollar crossed a notable threshold, falling below 20,000 against the US dollar. This decline occurred after it had previously dropped below the 10,000 level in late January.

The local currency was trading at 20,389 per greenback, indicating a cumulative decline of 70% since the beginning of the year.

Ncube said the monetary policy statement (MPS), which is overdue by two months, will be released soon.

He said the delay in the release of the MPS is due to ongoing consultations with experts within the government and other stakeholders. Said Ncube:

We are working on some measures, people should be patient, we will release a monetary policy statement in the not-so-distant future which will deal with volatility and weakness in the currency.

Just be patient, we want to make sure that we do it right, undertaking some consultation with various stakeholders in the industry, within Government and international organisations, but also some currency experts that we have consulted.

We want to make sure that we have all the arsenal of knowledge that is needed to produce a lasting solution to the volatility and weakness of the currency.

Last month, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) urged authorities in Zimbabwe to fully liberalise its exchange rate, warning that the currency’s continuing depreciation could pose a risk to economic growth.

Govt Says No To Holiday Lessons

By A Correspondent| The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has barred schools from proceeding with Vacation School for Grade 7, ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level candidates, as well as other non-examination classes during the April holiday period.

In a statement, Secretary for Primary and Secondary Education, Mike Mhike confirmed receiving requests from schools to have vacation classes

“The Ministry notes with appreciation the requests that have been received from some of its sectors to allow for the uptake of the Vacation School for examination classes of Grade 7, Ordinary and Advanced level during this April holiday,” said Mhike.

Mhike emphasized the importance of the holiday break for students to rest and engage in independent learning activities while encouraging the use of alternative learning strategies such as the Zimbabwe Learning Passport.

“Having consulted widely on the matter and taking cognisant of the fact that the school term had no disturbances at all to the teaching and learning programme, therefore, authority is NOT GRANTED that schools facilitate a Vacation School during the April school holidays for the Grade 7, Ordinary and Advanced level candidates, as well as for the non-examinations classes.

“Pupils need this holiday break to rest and engage in independent learning where need be, including utilisation of the Zimbabwe Learning Passport amongst other alternative learning strategies,” he added.

This decision is likely to have implications for both students and educators, as it alters plans for academic preparation during the holiday period. While some may view it as an opportunity for students to recharge, others may express concerns about the impact on exam preparation.

BREAKING: Chamisa Colleague Announced Presidential Winner Of Senegalese Elections

Senegal’s political opposition candidate Bassirou Diomaye Faye has been declared the winner of the national elections, marking a monumental shift as the country prepares for a change in leadership after 12 years under President Macky Sall.

The early results, which pointed towards Faye’s victory, incited jubilant celebrations across Dakar, reflecting the populace’s appetite for change amid economic challenges and political unrest that had marred Sall’s tenure.

Nelson Chamisa, Zimbabwe’s most popular national leader, celebrated the outcome from afar, expressing his exhilaration over social media with a message that resonated with many across the continent: “GOOD NEWS FROM SENEGAL…The face of Africa is young! #AgainstAllOdds Well done Young people of Africa!” This sentiment underscores a broader narrative of youth empowerment and change sweeping across Africa.

Senegal’s former Prime Minister Amadou Ba, the ruling coalition’s candidate, initially deemed the early celebrations premature, advocating for a run-off vote. However, in a surprising turn of events, Ba conceded to Faye, signaling a rare moment of political grace and acknowledgment of the democratic process. His concession, along with those from several other opposition contenders, underscored the significance of Faye’s victory in the eyes of both the political establishment and the populace.

Faye, at 44, represents a new generation of leadership in Senegal, one that has garnered significant support from the youth and those disenchanted with the status quo. His campaign, significantly bolstered by the backing of Ousmane Sonko—a charismatic and controversial figure in Senegalese politics—promised a staunch fight against corruption and a dedication to prioritizing national economic interests over entrenched political agendas.

The election, set against a backdrop of economic hardship, violent protests, and political turbulence, was viewed by many as a referendum on Senegal’s future direction. The peaceful transition of power anticipated with Faye’s victory is seen as a crucial step for democracy in West Africa, a region that has witnessed a troubling spate of military coups in recent years.

As Senegal awaits the official proclamation of results, the international community and Senegalese citizens alike hope that this election will herald a new era of stability, economic prosperity, and democratic governance, reinforcing Senegal’s position as a beacon of democracy in the region.- Agencies

Climate Change: What Is Plastic Pollution?

Dear Young People
Globally we’re facing a plastic pollution crisis at a scale we have never seen.

But the impacts of this crisis are not felt equally. From the “production” to the “disposal” of plastic, *the most vulnerable communities often experience the worst effects of pollution { Africa is concentrated with these vulnerable communities }

Sengezo Tshabangu Targets State Cash…

By A Correspondent

In a move that has stirred controversy within Zimbabwean political circles, Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-appointed interim Secretary General of the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), has boldly positioned the party to receive funding from the government under the political party funding scheme.

Tshabangu’s assertion has ignited debates regarding the legitimacy of CCC and the ethical implications of accessing public funds.

Tshabangu’s statement, issued on Monday morning, asserts the CCC’s entitlement to political party funding, citing the party’s recognition by the Zimbabwean Judiciary as the genuine and authentic CCC entity.

With confidence, he declared, “Let me clarify on the issue of funding which a lot don’t know about, we’re the genuine and authentic CCC which is recognized by the Zimbabwean Judiciary and we’re obviously going to get the political party funding, any sane person knows that, no further arguments about that.”

This proclamation has raised eyebrows, given the contentious nature of CCC’s formation and the ongoing legal disputes surrounding its leadership and legitimacy.

The CCC emerged as a splinter group from the MDC-Alliance, following internal rifts and disagreements over leadership succession.

Since its inception, the party has been embroiled in legal battles over its name, logo, and leadership structure, with multiple factions claiming authority.

Tshabangu’s assertion that CCC will receive political party funding underscores the complexities of Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

The political party funding scheme was established to promote transparency, accountability, and fairness in the country’s political processes.

However, the disbursement of funds to a party embroiled in legal disputes raises questions about the effectiveness of the system in ensuring accountability and preventing misuse of public resources.

Critics argue that Tshabangu’s declaration reflects a blatant disregard for due process and democratic principles.

While CCC may have obtained legal recognition from the judiciary, the ongoing factionalism and lack of consensus within the party cast doubts on its ability to represent the interests of its members and the broader populace effectively. Access to political party funding should be contingent upon demonstrating internal cohesion, adherence to democratic norms, and a commitment to advancing the public good.

Furthermore, Tshabangu’s statement highlights the broader issue of political opportunism and self-interest within Zimbabwean politics.

The pursuit of public funding by individuals or factions within a party, regardless of the legitimacy of their claims, risks undermining public trust in the political process and exacerbating divisions within society.

It underscores the need for comprehensive electoral and governance reforms to ensure that political parties operate in the best interests of the citizens they purportedly represent.

As Zimbabwe continues its journey towards democratic consolidation and inclusive governance, it is imperative that all political actors adhere to the principles of transparency, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.

The allocation of political party funding should be guided by objective criteria and oversight mechanisms to prevent manipulation and abuse.

Ultimately, the goal should be to foster a political environment where all voices are heard, and resources are utilized judiciously for the betterment of society.

Mnangagwa Wastes Millions On Building Propaganda School Amid Healthcare Crisis

Chivayo’s Secret Love Affairs Exposed?

By A Correspondent

In a recent development, prominent Zanu PF activist and businessman, Wicknell Chivayo, has vehemently denied allegations of being involved in romantic relationships with two young women, Mihlali Ndamase and Mazvi.

In a statement addressing the rumors, Chivayo categorically refuted any association with the aforementioned individuals, labeling the accusations as “ridiculous” and “laughable.” He emphasized that he neither knows the women personally nor through any of his business connections.

Chivayo attributed the origin of these rumors to a purportedly attention-seeking blogger, identified as ‘@The Instigator,’ whom he accused of fabricating the story following Chivayo’s social media post showcasing his latest acquisition, a 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre.

Expressing his dismay at the proliferation of such unfounded claims, Chivayo highlighted the detrimental impact such rumors could have on his reputation as a father, businessman, and public figure. He underscored his commitment to maintaining his integrity and protecting his image from baseless controversies.

Furthermore, Chivayo extended his sympathies to the falsely implicated individuals, acknowledging the distress such unfounded allegations might have caused them and their loved ones.

He urged caution and responsibility in online content creation, particularly emphasizing the potential harm caused by spreading false information.

In a direct message to the blogger in question, Chivayo admonished them to consider the consequences of their actions, urging them to refrain from engaging in the propagation of falsehoods for the sake of fleeting online attention.

See Chivayo’s statement below :

My attention has been drawn to arguably the most ridiculous and laughable rumors that I am in some romantic affairs with young South African and Zimbabwean ladies by the name Mihlali Ndamase and Mazvi respectively.

Let me CATEGORICALLY state that i do not know both these ladies whether personally or through any of my business associates.

This utterly absurd rumor is therefore nothing more than a BASELESS FALSEHOOD originated by some attention seeking blogger known as @The Instigator on X whose feelings and ego were tormented when I posted my latest purchase of a 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre on social media.

He found an opportunity to find relevance by fabricating a pathetic story out of desperation for online attention.

Whilst I have come to accept that with my opulent lifestyle it’s very easy for a young black filthy rich millionaire like myself to trend for any reason on social media, I take the GREATEST exception to people who intentionally DECEIVE unsuspecting followers by spreading FICTITIOUS stories as a means of content creation.

For the record, I am a proud father of TWO beautiful children and a successful businessman of exceptional repute.

I do not have any affair nor do I intend on having a relationship either with the alleged ladies or any other person whatsoever.

I have a REPUTATION to protect and such unnecessary, spurious and defamatory controversies are unacceptable.

I equally empathize with Mihlali and Mazvi the ladies I am allegedly involved with, for being unnecessarily dragged into such absurdity.

Iyo NGOCHANI marara inonzi TATELICIOUS rwendo runo chandakaitadzira chihombe

Being the gentleman I am, I wish to express my regret to the innocent ladies Mazvi and Mihlali, their family, friends and boyfriend/spouse (if any) on the anxiety that this FICTITIOUS stories may have caused.

In conclusion however, i will never stop working hard closing BIG DEALS worldwide to ensure my bank balance remains far much more HANDSOME than the “instigators” of FAKE controversies and NONSENSICAL lies such as this one ! I THANK YOU…

Outrage Over Moves By Discredited Businessman Dilesh Nguwaya To Steal From Harare

By A Correspondent| The Community Water Alliance has expressed outrage over an addendum to the Joint Venture concession agreement between the City of Harare and Geogenix which will see the local authority paying a further US$2 million for refuse collection.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Community Water Alliance representative Hardlife Mudzingwa expressed worry over the government’s move to force City of Harare to pay the controversial businessman Dilesh Nguwaya owned company huge sums of money at the expense of service delivery.

“Community Water Alliance has expressed concern over what it says were efforts by the government to give unnecessary life to the Joint Venture concession agreement between City of Harare and Geogenix through a proposed addendum where the local authority has to pay over US$2 million for collecting solid waste from suburbs,” said Mudzingwa.

He further revealed that the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works meeting has organized a meeting with City of Harare councilors and staff to force them to accept the addendum.

“The Alliance asserts that this move would incur unnecessary expenses for the local authority, amounting to over US$2 million, for the collection of solid waste from suburbs,” added Mudzingwa.

Expressing further dismay, the Alliance highlights the alarming increase in costs for waste collection imposed on the City of Harare. Under the proposed addendum, the city would be required to pay USD123.92 per ton for waste collection, on top of the existing fee of USD40.00 per ton for dumping waste at the Pomona facility.

According to Mudzingwa, this additional financial burden comes despite solid waste serving as a raw material for the Pomona facility.

Moreover, the Community Water Alliance emphasizes the City of Harare’s disregard for residents’ demands to terminate the Pomona dumpsite deal entirely. The Alliance decries the continued payment to Geogenix by both the city and the government, despite the contractor’s failure to meet contractual obligations outlined in the attached work plan.

Local Community and Authorities Clash with Bruce Chiyangwa Over Wetland Development In Sherwood

By A Correspondent| In a contentious standoff between local authorities and Bruce Chiyangwa, son of business tycoon Phillip Chiyangwa, tensions have risen over the proposed development of a residential area within Sherwood, Mabelreign wetland.

Chiyangwa’s ambitious plans have encountered multiple roadblocks, starting with the Environmental Management Authority (EMA) halting his initial construction attempts due to potential adverse effects on the delicate ecosystem.

A spokesperson from EMA stated, “Our primary concern is the preservation of the diverse flora and fauna in this area, which could be significantly compromised by such development.”

Undeterred, Chiyangwa persisted with his endeavors, only to face another setback when the Harare City Council issued a definitive stop order against any further development activities within the vicinity. However, despite these explicit directives, Chiyangwa has persisted with land clearance activities, indicating a blatant disregard for regulatory authority.

Expressing dismay over Chiyangwa’s actions, local residents and the Wetlands Trust have voiced their concerns, highlighting the potential ramifications for the surrounding community and environment.

“We are deeply troubled by Mr. Chiyangwa’s blatant disregard for the well-being of our community and the natural environment,” remarked one resident, echoing the sentiments of many.

In response to these developments, authorities have reiterated their commitment to upholding environmental regulations and ensuring the preservation of wetland areas.

“We will not tolerate any activities that jeopardize the ecological balance of our wetlands,” affirmed a representative from the Harare City Council who preferred anonymity.

Efforts to get in touch with Chiyangwa hit a snag as his mobile phone was not reachable.

Chief Ndiweni Rips Into Mnangagwa Administration

By A Correspondent| Chief Felix Nhlanhlayamangwe Ndiweni, a prominent figure in Ntabazinduna, has criticized the Zanu-PF government’s actions regarding the commissioning of the Pupu Battlefield Memorial Site in Lupane, labeling it as “hypocritical.”

He alleges that rather than honoring Ndebele heritage, the government’s move serves its political agenda.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa inaugurated the monument and visited other national monuments commemorating the events leading to the battle where Ndebele warriors defeated White settlers.

The ceremony was attended by government officials, traditional leaders, and civilians.

Chief Ndiweni expressed surprise at this gesture, citing the government’s historical tribalism, which he believes has marginalized the Ndebele community.

He accuses the government of attempting to erase the history of organizations like ZAPU and ZPRA Forces, which were led by Ndebele leaders.

Furthermore, Chief Ndiweni argues that the government’s narrative surrounding the Battle of Pupu ignores the contributions of Ndebele descendants who fought alongside ZAPU and ZPRA during the liberation war.

He asserts that the government’s actions in the Ndebele region are often masked under the rhetoric of “Unity and Peace,” despite perpetuating oppression.

According to Chief Ndiweni, the erection of the Battle of Pupu monument is not about preserving Ndebele heritage but rather advancing the political interests of Zanu-PF.

He questions the sincerity of the government’s newfound interest in Ndebele history, particularly considering its past atrocities against the Ndebele people.

He highlights the government’s destruction of previous attempts by the Ndebele community to erect monuments commemorating the Ndebele Genocide, War Crimes, and Crimes Against Humanity.

Chief Ndiweni perceives the government’s involvement in the monument’s commissioning as an imposition, especially given the region’s voting patterns in recent elections.

In essence, Chief Ndiweni calls for a critical rejection of the narrative propagated by Zanu-PF and questions the government’s motives behind its actions in the Ndebele region.

Eddie Cross Says Tagwirei Nolonger Part Of Kuvimba, Off Fuel Industry

By A Correspondent| Former opposition legislator and prominent economist, Eddie Cross, has disclosed that billionaire Kudakwashe Tagwirei is no longer affiliated with the Kuvimba Mining House.

This revelation came to light during an extensive interview with a private media outlet, where Cross shed light on Tagwirei’s investment journey, stating that Tagwirei utilized his earnings from Trafigura to venture into the mining giant.

“Kuda was kuvimba. He took all the money he got from the fuel business, disposing of the sales, putting the pipeline back to NOIC because he had 50 percent shares of the pipeline and NOIC bought him out. He did a lot of money and bought a lot of properties and put it into Kuvimba. Now Kuvimba has been taken over by the National Wealth Fund (Mutapa Fund),” Cross affirmed during the interview.

The Mutapa Investment Fund, which encompasses over twenty companies, has recently absorbed various enterprises, including Kuvimba Mining House, ZESA Holdings, HomeLink, Fidelity Gold Refinery, National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ), and Air Zimbabwe.

Cross also elucidated on Tagwirei’s ascension to billionaire status, debunking the notion that his wealth stemmed solely from political connections, particularly the government’s command agriculture program.

“It wasn’t political connections that made him rich,” Cross emphasized. “He has become extremely rich and Kuda is extremely bright. He owned a fuel company, one of the bigger ones, and the Trafigura guys bought him out and made him a director and trebled the size of the business as they (Trafigura) are the third largest trading company in the world. So it was under Trafigura that he made very substantial money, and he is still a wealthy man.”

Furthermore, Cross, a former member of the late Morgan Tsvangirai-led Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), highlighted Tagwirei’s departure from the fuel industry to pursue other ventures.

“Completely and is the President’s decision,” he asserted.

In a revealing disclosure, Cross recounted his decade-long metaphorical tussle with Tagwirei over the country’s fuel pipeline.

He disclosed his advocacy for MOGS of South Africa to construct a secondary pipeline from Beira, Mozambique, to Harare, challenging Tagwirei’s perceived dominance.

Meanwhile, the government reiterated its stance against granting total control of the fuel pipeline to any private entity.

Great Zimbabwe Uni Charges Students Mandatory Funeral Policy

Dear ZimEye

Please can you look into the issue with Great Zimbabwe University? They are imposing a fee of $25 on students for a Funeral Policy, which is payable directly to their offices. Is this justifiable?

If something were to happen to my son, I would have to manage the funeral arrangements by myself, using my own resources. Why should we be compelled to subscribe to a Funeral Policy that appears to benefit the institution more than the students or their families? Despite opposition from the student body, the university not only increased the tuition fees but also made this Funeral Policy fee a separate, mandatory charge for all students. It’s important to note the university’s close ties with the ruling party, as evidenced by their Chancellor being Zvobgo. This situation raises questions about the fairness and the actual benefit of such policies to the students and their families.

Wicknell Chivhayo Strikes Again, Orders Madzibaba Nicholas Zacharia To Go And See Victor

By Showbiz Reporter-Zanu PF apologist and controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo has offered a brand new car to the seasoned musician Madzibaba Nicholas Zacharia.

The senior lecturer, as he is called in the music cycle, recently posted a video showing off his old Mazda BT50 car being repaired at a makeshift garage in Harare before appealing for a car from Chivhayo.

The VOA news’ Blessing Zulu (BZ) had an interview with Chimurenga music guru Thomas Mapfumo (TM) about a vehicle offer from Wicknell Chivayo, and the following is an extract of the interview:

BZ: Makanya what’s your take on Wickell Chivayo’s remarks that you will get a top of the range vehicle and a house if you sing praises to ZANU PF?
TM: I don’t want that. What will l do with a car when our people are suffering? The poor want well equipped hospitals and all resources must go towards that. I am a man of the people. I stand with the poor.

Chivhayo somewhat ignoring Mapfumo’s caution and has gone on to issue instructions to Madzibaba, ordering him to go and see the so called “Victor” on Monday:

Chiwenga’s New Wife Pushes-Out Marry Mubaiwa From Miss Zimbabwe Leadership

By Showbiz Reporter- Colonel Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga’s new wife, has snatched Miss Universe Zimbabwe’s leadership from Mary Mubaiwa.

This announcement comes amidst a backdrop of transitions within the pageant scene, notably with Baloyi-Chiwenga seizing the position from the embattled ex-wife of Chiwenga, Marry Mubaiwa, who still holds the Miss World Zimbabwe license.

Baloyi-Chiwenga’s appointment marks a resurgence for Zimbabwe on the international pageant stage, following a hiatus.

Last year saw Brooke Bruk Jackson representing Zimbabwe at the Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador, signaling a return for the nation.

The recent launch event for the upcoming edition of Miss Universe Zimbabwe showcased Baloyi-Chiwenga, who expressed admiration for Brooke Bruk’s performance.

Beyond her newfound role in the pageant world, Baloyi-Chiwenga is recognized as a multifaceted figure.

A 46-year-old army colonel, she operates upscale boutiques under the brand Style By Minnie in Harare.

Renowned for her linguistic prowess, she is fluent in several languages, including Mandarin, French, and Zulu.

Additionally, she serves as a government linguist, Chinese translator, and lecturer in Mandarin for various institutions in Zimbabwe.

Ironically, the previous holder of the Miss World Zimbabwe license, Marry Mubaiwa, finds herself entangled in legal battles, including allegations of attempting to murder Vice-President Chiwenga during his medical treatment in South Africa.

Mubaiwa’s tenure in the pageant realm has been contentious, marked by accusations of holding the pageant at ransom and involvement of military and political figures, detracting from its glamour.

As Zimbabwe anticipates the upcoming Miss Universe Zimbabwe edition, all eyes are on Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga as she embarks on her new role, steering the pageant into a vibrant and promising future.

Tshabangu, Mnangagwa Pact Exposed

By A Correspondent

A recent image circulating on social media depicting Sengezo Tshabangu bowing in reverence to Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa has ignited a firestorm of controversy and speculation.

The photograph has reignited debates surrounding Tshabangu’s political affiliations and the perceived influence of Mnangagwa’s Zanu PF party within opposition circles.

The image, which surfaced online, captures Tshabangu in a gesture of obeisance towards President Mnangagwa, prompting questions about the nature of their relationship and the implications for Zimbabwean politics.

Tshabangu, a figure within opposition circles, has long been scrutinized for his alleged ties to Zanu PF, with some viewing him as a proxy for the ruling party’s interests.

In response to the photograph, Zanu PF hardliners, identified as Varakashi, seized the opportunity to portray the encounter between Tshabangu and Mnangagwa as a testament to the progressive nature of opposition politics.

Their interpretation suggests a narrative of collaboration and consensus-building between rival political factions, albeit through the lens of subservience to the ruling party.

However, critics have been quick to condemn Tshabangu’s gesture as a capitulation to the ruling party, accusing him of betraying the principles of opposition politics and succumbing to undue influence.

The image has reignited suspicions about the extent of Zanu PF’s infiltration within opposition ranks and the potential for co-option and manipulation.

Furthermore, the photograph has raised broader questions about the dynamics of power and influence within Zimbabwean politics.

It underscores the complexities of navigating the political landscape, where alliances and allegiances are subject to constant scrutiny and interpretation.

The optics of Tshabangu’s deferential posture towards Mnangagwa have reverberated across social media platforms, shaping public perceptions and fueling speculation about the underlying motivations behind the encounter.

Amidst the controversy, Tshabangu has remained relatively silent, offering no public statement to clarify the circumstances surrounding the photograph or address the allegations leveled against him.

His silence only serves to deepen the intrigue surrounding the incident, leaving room for speculation to flourish and interpretations to diverge.

Moving Towards Plastic Free Environment

Dear Young People
Globally we’re facing a plastic pollution crisis at a scale we have never seen.

But the impacts of this crisis are not felt equally. From the “production” to the “disposal” of plastic, *the most vulnerable communities often experience the worst effects of pollution { Africa is concentrated with these vulnerable communities }

Please be Responsible

Chiwenga’s New Wife Elbows-Out Marry Mubayiwa

By Showbiz Reporter- Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga’s newlywed spouse, Miniyothabo Baloyi-Chiwenga, has stepped into the limelight as the chairperson of Miss Universe Zimbabwe.

Warriors Stun Chipolopolo

Interim Warriors coach Norman has hailed his charges’ fighting spirit after they came back from two goals down to beat Zambia and progress to the final of the four-nations tournament in Malawi.

Zimbabwe struggled in the early stages of the game and saw themselves trailing 2-0 in the 23rd minute, courtesy of goals from Stopilla Sunzu and Clatous Chama.

But Mapeza’s troops fought back and restored parity through goals by Macauley Bonne and Walter Musona.

Speaking to journalists after the game, Mapeza was naturally happy with his charges’ fighting spirit.

“They (Zambia) scored two early goals, and it was just lack of concentration on our part,” said the gaffer.

“But credit to the boys, they kept believing in themselves, we crawled back and scored two goals.

“In the second half, I think we were the better team. I also think we could have won the game in normal time because we got a lot of set piece opportunities.

“But at the end of the day, I will give credit to my boys, they worked so hard. Look, this is a team we assembled some few days ago, so well-done to the boys,” added Mapeza.

The Warriors will play either Kenya or Malawi in the final on Wednesday.
