Mupambi Calls Out Ex-ZPP Boss Jestina Mukoko

By Tanaka Chirigo| The Zimbabwe Peace Project former boss Jestina Mukoko has  been pilfering donor funds, according to a prominent human rights activist.

Speaking to this publication, Abigale Mupambi challenged the former ZPP director to come clean on allegations of defrauding the NGO of hefty amounts of money.

“It is high time  figures in the civic society like Jestina Mukoko be held accountable for the abuse of donor funds. They should be held accountable for pilfering money that would have been mearnt for ordinary citizens.

” What pains us in the civic society is that this has tainted  some of us who are really genuine in our work,” fumed Mupambi.

She added that because of the embezzlement of donor funds it is hardly  believable that organisations like EU pours such huge amounts  of money which doesn’t congruent with the activities by NGOs.

” It boggles the mind that EU can avail over US$5 million dollars grant but the work on the ground doesn’t show.
“Sadly, it is because of elite civic society leaders like Mukoko who are corrupt hence such noise,” added the human rights activist.

Responding to a ZPP tweet, Abigale Mupambi had no kind words for the former ZBC news anchor.

“ZPP Don’t you think it’s high time you respond to the public media allegations that your Director Jestina Mukoko squandered EU donor funds. meant for the so called “electoral torture victims. “I  think it’s to late to diverting us at this juncture, we need answers as CSOs,” wrote Mupambi.

Efforts to get a comment from Jestina Mukoko were fruitless.

Zanu PF supporters caged over demonstration

By A Correspondent- Zanu-PF supporters, who were arrested for their involvement in an unauthorized demonstration at the party’s national headquarters in Harare, remained in custody over the weekend as the State opposed their release on bail.

These supporters appeared before Harare magistrate Apolonia Marutya last Friday.

Prosecutor Takudzwa Jambawu opposed bail, arguing that while the supporters had a right to bail, this right was not absolute. He also contended that they faced charges of public violence and had the potential to pose a threat to public safety.

Jambawu stated, “There is an indication that the accused were warned by the police to stop chanting slogans, and the State is concerned that if the accused are released on bail, they may repeat the same offense.”

The court postponed the case because the investigating officer, Inspector Samuel Matsekwa, was unable to attend due to a family emergency.

However, the supporters’ lawyer, Tonderai Chikosha, challenged the application, asserting that the case could proceed because the investigating officer had already submitted a signed affidavit.

The bail hearing was rescheduled for tomorrow.

The allegations involve 12 Zanu-PF members who, on September 19 of this year, were accused of unlawfully disturbing the peace, security, or order by defying a police order to cease their demonstration against senior party officials in Harare province.

Land developer silence irks residents

By A Correspondent- The government has issued instructions to the Surveyor-General’s Office to conduct a survey of the residential stands at Judd Farm in Gwanda, Matabeleland South province. This decision comes after beneficiaries faced challenges in developing the area over the past nine years.

Approximately 300 individuals purchased residential stands from the land developer, Forit Contracting (Pvt) Limited, in 2015, but little progress has been made since then. Beneficiaries had experienced difficulties dealing with both Gwanda Municipality and the land developer.

In a letter dated September 6, 2023, addressed to the Surveyor-General, Shingirayi Mushamba, the Chief Director of Spatial Planning and Development in the Ministry of Local Government and Public Works, requested assistance in land surveying for the Gwanda Municipality’s allocated portion of Judds Farm for urban development. The letter emphasized the need for the survey to align with the approved plan.

Beneficiaries expressed hope that government involvement would finally lead to progress on their residential stands. They also anticipated that the new Gwanda mayor, Thulani Moyo, would expedite the resolution of this longstanding issue.

Earlier this year, the beneficiaries had petitioned the then Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution minister, Abednigo Ncube, to address the delays in servicing and delivering the stands.

They emphasized the urgency of their situation and sought permission to expedite the process. Despite several petitions and requests for updates, little progress had been made in the past nine years.

Chemhanza High School expels 30 students

Reportedly, 30 students have been expelled from Chemhanza High School in Hwedza, Mashonaland East province, following allegations of bullying and physical fighting, including the severe assault of a student who is said to be the daughter of a high-ranking Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) operative.

According to sources and voice notes shared with NewsDay, concerned parents expressed their astonishment at the school’s decision to expel certain Form 4 and 6 students, who are currently in the midst of their final examinations.

The incident is said to have occurred on September 17, and the school authorities initially suspended the students believed to have been involved in the altercation.

One parent recounted how a student witnessed her sibling escaping from a dormitory for Forms 1 and 2 through a window. Upon investigation, it was revealed that Form 4 students had allegedly been assaulting younger students. In an attempt to protect them, the concerned student brought the younger ones to her room. However, she, along with other students, was subsequently expelled on accusations of assaulting a Form 3 student who is reportedly the daughter of a CIO operative and considered untouchable.

The parent further noted that since Sunday, the expelled students have been deprived of food, prevented from accessing the study area, and are not attending lessons. Concerned parents only became aware of the situation later and visited the school to gather more information.

The parents expressed their dissatisfaction with the expulsion process, claiming that the authorities failed to record the students’ statements objectively. They alleged that leading questions were asked to manipulate the students’ responses.

Another parent mentioned that the school head provided them with incomplete minutes from the hearing, and it was the district schools inspector for Hwedza, Mr. Parani, who instructed them to take their children home.

The parents also accused the school authorities of displaying bias against their children.

Efforts to obtain comments from school officials proved unsuccessful as the deputy head, Tarirai Mararike, referred NewsDay to the head, Reverend Noel Nhariswa, whose phone was switched off.

Red Devils Punish Star Player

Manchester United have made a decision to send Jadon Sancho to train away from the first team.

Sancho’s relationship with coach Erik ten Hag has deteriorated in recent weeks following the gaffer’s claims on the player.

Speaking after the 3-1 defeat at the Emirates, ten Hag said: “Jadon, on his performances in training we did not select him.

“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected.”

The claims attracted a response from Sancho, who hit back at the coach and said “there are other reasons behind this matter” and he has been “made a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair.”

Manchester United have now issued a statement on the situation, reading:

“Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue.”- Soccer24 News

Parents Killed By Own Son

A shocking and tragic incident has unfolded in Lupane, Matabeleland North, as a man identified as Clever Ngwenya (35) is now on the run after allegedly slitting the throats of both his mother, Mildress Ngwenya (71), and his father, Simon Ngwenya (73), during a family gathering that took place last week. The motives behind this horrifying act remain unknown.

According to local authorities, the gruesome incident occurred at a family gathering in Gwalubha Village, Mabhikwa, on September 21. Clever Ngwenya is reported to have attacked his parents, fatally stabbing his mother and father in the throat with a knife. He also purportedly attempted to harm his two brothers during the assault, but they managed to escape unharmed.

In an official statement, the police in Lupane issued an urgent appeal for information that could assist in locating and apprehending Clever Ngwenya. The suspect is now wanted for the callous murder of his parents.

In a separate incident, police are also seeking information regarding three unidentified suspects involved in the killing of Marbel Magurambinga (39) during a robbery at a gold panning site in Mazowe. The suspects allegedly stabbed Magurambinga in the thigh with a knife during the robbery, which resulted in her tragic death. They stole US$350 from the gold panning site at Folyle Farm.

These violent crimes, particularly those occurring at illegal mining sites, have posed significant challenges for law enforcement agencies across the country. Gangs wielding machetes have been terrorizing citizens, prompting multiple police operations aimed at addressing this issue. There have been allegations that some of these gangs may be under the control of influential individuals, further complicating efforts to combat this menace.

My Wife’s Bedding Our Son?

A woman named Mazvida Makunani has taken her husband, Dudzai Mandaya, to court for alleged assaults on her and their 17-year-old son. Makunani appeared before Harare magistrate Sharon Mashavira seeking a protection order due to ongoing physical abuse inflicted by her husband, particularly when he returns home intoxicated.

Makunani stated that her husband had been harassing and assaulting their son, even accusing him of being his mother’s boyfriend. She described how he had been subjecting their son to beatings and choking him while he slept, all based on unfounded suspicions.

“He has been beating his son and choking him while he is asleep for the past three months because he says he is my boyfriend,” she revealed. “He usually assaults him when drunk. I have never had extra-marital affairs, but he accuses me daily of bringing a boyfriend into our house.”

Makunani further explained that when she attempted to intervene, her husband would respond with insults and resort to physical violence against her as well.

In his defense, Dudzai Mandaya denied the allegations, claiming that his wife was disrespectful.

However, Magistrate Sharon Mashavira granted Mazvida Makunani the protection order she sought, instructing Dudzai Mandaya to cease all forms of physical and emotional abuse directed at his wife and son. The court’s decision aims to provide safety and security for the affected parties in this troubling situation.-state media

Former G40 kingpins causing chaos in Harare

By A Correspondent| Former Zanu PF Generation 40 (G40) kingpins are causing chaos in Harare province as they are working tirelessly to illegally remove the current provincial leadership.

This comes after they caused mayhem at the provincial headquarters as they allegedly sent goons to disrupt party activities.

According to inside sources former Harare provincial commissar Shadreck Mashayamombe and his G40 team are being funded by Blessed Charakupa populary known as JB.

Charakupa is trying to take over all Mbare business premises by force using violence and he is funding demonstrations against the party.

“The team want to remove the current Harare executive, they want to protect their interests and in the long run they want to push their faction to take over from President Mnangagwa.

“The team is having a series of meetings and if they are not stopped they will cause serious problems in the province. We are appealing to the party leadership to take action against these malcontents. We cannot drag the party to the time of G40,” the source said.

This comes after Harare province has served six of their members with prohibition orders after they allegedly went to the party’s Harare headquarters and caused unnecessary chaos.

The members who are under fire include Oliver Vhelemu provincial member, Reason Mabhedhla, provincial member, Stanley Maisiri, Chenjerai Hunzvi district chairman, Misheck Mberikunashe, Chenjerai Hunzvi district vice chairman, Brian Chimombe, treasure Mbare3 district, Isaac Simon, Mbare2 district chairman and Killian Gwenhamo, Monomotapa district chairman.

In a letter to all provincial structures, the provincial secretary for legal affairs Blessing Shamba said the seven are suspended from holding any party position until the matter is completed.

“We would like to inform you (provincial structures) that the following party members (seven mentioned above) have been served with prohibition orders in accordance to the Party Constitution in Article 4 section 79 Subsection 1 and 2 they are now hereby prohibited with Immediate effect to hold any party office this prohibition in meant to allow for the full investigation into the above mentioned allegations (demonstrating at party provincial headquarters),

“The prohibition is effective with immediate effect for the duration of 14 days; they will be notified in writing when your hearing will take place after the conclusion of the investigation,” the letter reads.

This comes after 12 suspected Zanu PF supporters have appeared in court facing alleged public violence charges after they allegedly went to the party’s Harare headquarters and held a demonstration.

The 12 are Melisa Master, 27, Irene Makuvire, 50, Ernest Thuola, 35, Tinashe Nheya, 27, Prince Chatendeuka, 36, Tafara Rusere, 30, Edson Chabvuta, 30, Larson Masenda, 43, Rosewinter Munhava, 34, Wellington Mutsvangwa, 32, Blessed Kadumba, 28, and Portia Mhishi, 35.

The accused appeared before Harare magistrate Apolonia Marutya and were remanded in custody. They are returning to court tomorrow for their bail hearing.

Rushwaya Freed

By A Correspondent- The state has closed its case against Henrietta Rushwaya (56) who is appearing in the Anti-Corruption Court at the High Court of Harare on charges of smuggling 6kg of gold valued at USD333 042.28.

The accused was scheduled to appear before the High Court from the 18. to the 22nd of September 2023 and the trial is proceeding accordingly.

Rushwaya is the president of Zimbabwe’s mining association and a niece of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The State is alleging that on the 26th of October 2020 the accused person went through the VIP route at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport evading security check points. Upon going through an X- ray monitoring machine a suspicious object in the accused person’s luggage was identified.

A physical search was conducted by a Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe security officer which led to the recovery of four gold bars. The accused person failed to produce an exporter’s permit and instead produced a commercial invoice and packing list on behalf of a company named All Japan 786 Private Limited which purportedly authorized her to transport the gold. It is the State’s case that it was unlawful to export gold using these documents.

In terms of the law Fidelity Printers and Refiners Private Limited is the sole authorized exporter of gold in Zimbabwe. For an individual or company to export gold, a Gold Dealership License is required. All gold exports must be accompanied by a Bill of Export, Fidelity Printers and Refiners Commercial Invoice, Fidelity Printers and Refiners Packing List CD1 Form and RBZ Authorization Letter. Fidelity Printers and Refiners is also responsible for the movement of the consignment of gold to the airport and will only handover the package to the courier on the Airside. An individual or company cannot physically possess the gold and or package before entering the Airside.

The accused person was initially charged with two others namely Stephen Chenjerai Tserayi (47) and Raphios Mufandauya (40). However, the State has withdrawn charges against the two.

Anger as doctor dies while waiting for ambulance

By A Correspondent- People from all walks of life have expressed anger following the death of Zimbabwean doctor, Mthabisi Nembaware, who died at Mutare Hospital while waiting for an ambulance to be airlifted to Harare.

Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono said over 10 doctors wrote to him “expressing their legitimate anger at what happened to one of their colleagues yesterday in Manicaland.”

Dr. Nembaware, who had been working at a rural hospital in Hauna, was involved in a road accident while travelling to Mutare.

Despite being stabilized at Mutare Hospital for severe Traumatic Brain Injury, the hospital lacked a functional ICU unit and city-to-city ambulance service.

Thus, he needed to be transferred to Harare for specialized care via air ambulance. Chin’ono wrote:

Despite parading the overpriced so called helicopter ambulance, the State couldn’t airlift him to Harare. His family put together US$5,000 to airlift him using a private ambulance air service.

But sadly the air ambulance plane couldn’t go because Mutare airport doesn’t have working landing lights. Unfortunately, Dr Mthabisi Nembaware succumbed to the injuries at around 11 pm last night.

The doctor has become yet another unnecessary statistic of a collapsed healthcare services. Our country has adequate resources to have a good functional healthcare system, but the public funds are ruthlessly looted to the detriment of the whole nation.

Millions of dollars are spent annually buying thousands of luxury cars for Zimbabwe’s unethical political elite, money that could have been deployed fix the critical public services like healthcare. May Dr Mthabisi Nembaware Rest in Peace.

Many people responded to Chin’ono’s post on X (formerly Twitter) expressing their anger towards the government for neglecting the health sector in Zimbabwe.

Critics of the government accuse political elites of looting funds that should have been allocated to the health sector.

They argue that the politicians show little concern for the healthcare system as they can afford to seek medical treatment abroad.

The collapse of the healthcare sector has been an ongoing struggle in Zimbabwe since the early 2000s, leading to daily challenges for the people.

CIO Bribes Zanu PF Gutu Election Agents

By- Members of the dreaded Central Intelligence Organisation, CIO, have allegedly bribed ZANU PF polling agents at Mupandawana offices in Gutu.

This again confirms a close connection between the ruling party and spy organisation in the 2023 election project.

Analysts interviewed by The Mirror stated that this incident is not surprising as there seems to be a strong association between State entities and ZANU PF, blurring the lines between the party and the State.

Mirror reporters visited the CIO offices near Gutu Police Station after receiving public reports. They found numerous polling agents and some Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) members from four Gutu constituencies gathered there namely Gutu Central, South, East, and West.

When contacted for comment, Isaac Moyo, the CIO Director General, denied knowledge of the situation, stating, “I have no knowledge of it,” before ending the call. One of the agents confirmed to The Mirror:

We received our allowances from these offices a few days after the elections. Today, we were called on short notice and told to sign papers to confirm the receipts because there are allegations that some of us were shortchanged and did not receive the money.

The agents were disappointed as they were called to the CIO offices but not given money for transportation or food.

Opposition parties, particularly the CCC, have raised concerns about the CIO’s influence on the elections through a group called FAZ. It is alleged that FAZ controlled the Zimbabwe Electoral Authority (ZEC) and manipulated the elections in Gutu District. Presiding officers, including Teachers4ED members, were accused of manipulating results and harassing CCC representatives. The international community declined to endorse the elections due to the perceived closeness between the State and ZANU PF, suggesting that the ruling party had significant control. The involvement of the CIO in financial transactions on behalf of a political party was deemed inappropriate by Wilfred Mandinde of the Zimbabwe NGO Forum. Mandinde declared:

We have seen arms of the State acting like paramilitaries of Zanu-PF. This has to stop.

According to reports, ZANU PF’s chief agents received US$200 in allowances, while roving agents received US$160, and ordinary agents received US$120. ZANU PF had previously claimed to have millions of dollars for the elections.

In Gutu District, there were reports of widespread harassment by FAZ operatives, resulting in numerous opposition supporters being imprisoned and required to pay substantial fines for minor altercations. Ephraim Murudu, a CCC candidate in Gutu West and a war veteran, was allegedly fined US$300, which had to be paid immediately, following an incident involving a FAZ member.

ZBC Dogged By Humiliating Scandal

A senior official at ZBC has been suspended amid allegations of demanding sexual favors from a female subordinate, and there are concerns that this case is just the beginning of a more extensive problem.

The executive in question was reportedly escorted out of ZBC’s Pockets Hill headquarters following the scandal. ZBC’s chief executive, Adelaide Chikunguru, claimed that the senior employee had neither been suspended nor fired. However, multiple sources have confirmed his suspension pending a hearing scheduled in two weeks.

He is accused of attempting to exploit a woman who was recently transferred to Harare. The victim allegedly recorded the senior executive and retained text messages in which he solicited sexual favors to approve her paperwork.

Despite attempts by top management to downplay the issue and protect the company’s image, insiders believe that the evidence against the executive is overwhelming. ZBC employees have suggested that this case could reveal more instances of sexual harassment within the organization.

While Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Minister Jenfan Muswere claimed not to be aware of the case, he acknowledged ongoing discussions with the Zimbabwe Media Commission (ZMC) regarding sexual harassment in the media industry. He mentioned that the ZMC was launching a policy document on sexual harassment in the industry to address this problem.

Monica Mutsvangwa, the minister’s predecessor, had previously expressed concern about the alleged widespread abuse of women in the media fraternity. She urged media organizations to adopt a zero-tolerance approach to sexual harassment and create safe environments for women pursuing careers in journalism, citing sexual harassment as a significant deterrent for women in the field.

Chamisa Aides Arrested For 2021 Fictitious Charges

By- The police have arrested the Bindura Town Council Mayor, Jacob Gwature and his Chamisa lead CCC colleague, Jonathan Kapasi.

The two were arrested in connection with 2021 fraud allegations involving US$6,970.

The national police spokesperson, Paul Nyathi, said the suspects, operating under the company name Pamhodzi Rainbow Network in Zimbabwe, received £5,000 (equivalent to US$6,970) from Kitchen Table Charities Trust in the United Kingdom. The funds were intended for drilling a borehole and installing a solar system at stand number 1305 Budiriro 1, Harare.

However, they failed to fulfil their obligations as per the agreement and did not proceed with the borehole drilling or solar system installation. Misheck Mlambo, representing Kitchen Table Charities Trust, deposited the funds into the suspects’ local bank account.

Following a complaint, the police arrested the suspects, who have since appeared in court. They have been remanded in custody until September 26, 2023, pending a bail application.

The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) says the charges are fictitious. The party’s spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi, said:

Are you a Civil Servant or Pensioner in Zimbabwe?

Bindura Mayor Cllr Jacob Gwature appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court this morning & has been remanded in custody to Tuesday 26th of September 2023. Cllr. Gwature, like many of our leaders & officials faces fictitious charges dating as far back as 2021. On Tuesday, the 26th of September 2023, we urge our supporters to fill up the Court in solidarity with the Mayor as well as to demonstrate our dismay & opposition against the abuse of state institutions to undermine the will & choices of the people of Zimbabwe. To restore & retain the people’s trust & confidence , our Courts must refuse to be reduced to ZANU PF’s instruments of persecution. The courts ought & must be seen to be carrying our justice without fear or favour. His Legal Advisor Enerst Jena is of the opinion that this is not a criminal matter & must be before a civil not a criminal Court, and rightly so. We are however are that this has been brought before the criminal Court to persecute & try to tarnish Cllr Gwature’s reputation.

The party expressed concern over the ongoing harassment of its members by the Harare regime, following an election they deemed shambolic and rigged. The CCC said the arrest was unjust. Some, however, questioned why the party fielded candidates with criminal pasts, as their actions may affect their future roles. They said law enforcement has a constitutional duty to address crime and cannot remain inactive.

Matinyarare’s property forfeited

By A Correspondent- Former Croco Motors boss Joseph Matinyarare’s properties have been forfeited to the state after a court established that he acquired them using the proceeds of crime between 2016 and 2020. The exchange rate in 2016 was US$1:ZW$1 but it depreciated over time.

This was after Prosecutor-General (PG) Nelson Mutsonziwa filed an application for an order for civil forfeiture of property made in terms of the Money Laundering and Proceeds of Crime Act. The property consists of two immovable and three motor vehicles.

The application for an order for the civil forfeiture of his house in Southlea Park suburb was however dismissed.

According to court documents, Matinyarare was a parts manager at Croco Holdings (Pvt) Ltd’s Graniteside branch, Harare.

The PG said Matinyarare engaged in conduct constituting or associated with serious criminal offences and, using the money obtained from such conduct, bought the property targeted for forfeiture.

The PG submitted that he specifically used money realised from the sale of stolen car parts. Matinyarare is already appearing before the magistrates’ court on a charge of fraud.

It is alleged that he collected spare car parts from Croco Motors’ group procurement depart[1]ment using a manual goods out note between September 2019 and September 2020 and, instead of entering the parts into the Croco Motors Graniteside stock, converted the same to his own use.

The allegations are that the stock is valued at US$306 851.80. It also is common cause that Matinyarare is again appearing before the same court on a charge of theft.

Allegations are that he stole motor vehicle spare parts belonging to his employer, between 1 January 2016 and September 2020. The value of the spare parts is given as ZW$103 656 448.03 of which ZW$8 850 605.05 worth of spare car parts is said to have been recovered. High Court judge Benjamin Chikowero said he was also convinced that Matinyarare had used the proceeds of crime to buy his properties.

“Despite his protestations, I am satisfied, on a balance of probabilities, that while employed as Croco Motors’ parts manager Graniteside, Matinyarare, during the period in question, was involved in some kind of conduct constituting or associated with the theft of ZW$103 761 568.89 worth of motor vehicle spare parts belonging to his employer of which ZW$ 8 850 605 05 worth was recovered from him.

“I have seen the Forensic Audit Report prepared by Caleb Mutsumba, the external auditor. He lays out the basis for his factual findings.

“He explains why he concluded that it was Matinyarare who manipulated Croco Motors’ system to facilitate the theft of the motor vehicle spare parts (stock) in question,” said the judge.

The manipulation took the form of irregular “adjustments” of the stock in the system followed by the physical removal of such, hence the theft. The four factual findings made by the auditor were that there were deliberate “adjustments” of stock by Matinyarare as the identified “user” in the dealership system used by Croco Motors at the material time.

CIO, Zanu PF election links exposed

By A Correspondent- Zanu PF polling agents in Gutu have allegedly received their allowances from the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) offices at Mpandawana. This suggests a close connection between the ruling party and State entities in the 2023 election project.

Ephraim Murudu, a CCC candidate in Gutu West and a war veteran, was allegedly fined US$300, which had to be paid immediately, following an incident involving a FAZ membe

SADC consulting CCC leader? No to another sugar coated placebo!

By Wilbert Mukori- Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has claimed that leaders from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) have been consulting with him to seek his opinions on how to resolve Zimbabwe’s current political crisis following the contested general election,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“During a CCC provincial council meeting in Chinhoyi, Chamisa emphasized that he had won the presidential election despite intimidation tactics and alleged rigging by Zanu-PF-aligned Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ). He described the recent election as a “war” rather than a proper election.

“Chamisa revealed that he had recently participated in a lengthy video conference call with SADC officials who were seeking his proposals for resolving the political impasse in Zimbabwe, which has resulted from the widely criticised elections.”

The truth is Zimbabwe is in this political and economic mess because the nation has been stuck for 43 years with this corrupt , incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship. The party has rigged elections to secure its stay in power.

By the late 1990s the nation finally came to a consensus that for there to be any hope of putting an end to the dictatorship, the nation must implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. The nation has risked all to elect MDC/CC leaders for the express purpose they implement the democratic reforms.

After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, MDC/CCC has failed to implement even one reform. Worse still, they have given up on reforms to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy in return for a share of the spoils of power.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because of the Zanu PF dictatorship and Chamisa and his CCC friends have played their part in keeping Zanu PF in power. Zanu PF and CCC are the reason Zimbabwe is in this mess, they are the problem and per se cannot be the solution too!

So what the devil is SADC doing “consulting Chamisa on the way forward”?

Both Zanu Pf and CCC were involved in the 2008 to 2013 GNU that failed to implement even one reform, SADC leaders know this. What hope is there that a new GNU with the same two political parties in power would do any better.

What SADC leaders must do is convene the meeting and endorse the SADC election observer mission report condemning the 23 August 2023 elections were a sham and there is no legitimate government in Harare. SADC played the leading role in the 2008 to 2013 GNU which failed to implement even one reform. There is no shame in SADC acknowledging this fact and, more significantly reaching out to UN to ask for help.

A joint body of UN and SADC must decide the way forward for Zimbabwe.

After 43 years of rigged elections and with the nation now in serious social and economic trouble, Zimbabwe needs a cure to the curse of rigged elections and bad governance and not another sugar coated placebo!

Zim nanny fired 3 days later by the Johnsons

A Zimbabwean nanny named Theresa Dawes claims that she was fired by Carrie Johnson, the wife of Boris Johnson, just three days into her job after she was found drinking a glass of wine with Boris Johnson to celebrate the birth of their baby. Theresa (59) alleges that she is owed thousands of pounds.

Boris allegedly apologized, citing Carrie’s hormones as the reason for the dismissal. Theresa is considering legal action to recover her unpaid wages and severance pay.

The Johnsons have denied Theresa’s claims. Boris Johnson, as a former Prime Minister, receives a substantial annual allowance of £115,000 and has earned millions from speaking engagements. Theresa insists that there was no inappropriate behaviour between her and Boris, and their discussions centred on Zimbabwean politics.

Theresa regrets getting involved with the Johnsons, stating that the situation has been a complete nightmare. She believes that the reason for her dismissal may have been Carrie’s mother witnessing her having wine with Boris. She said:

I know he’s had three wives, however many kids. But I’m not interested, he’s not my type. I don’t know if she felt threatened. I don’t know what she was thinking.

I was looking forward to helping out a family with their new arrival but I got caught in the middle of something else.

I’d only been there for three days and I didn’t even get to hold the baby. I wish I’d never got involved with them, it’s been a complete nightmare. To be fair, it was quite a nice rosé but it definitely wasn’t worth it.

Theresa had travelled thousands of miles from Zimbabwe to work for the Johnsons at their Oxfordshire mansion.

Theresa believes the reason for her dismissal was that Carrie’s mother saw her having a glass of wine with Boris. Theresa suspects that mentioning a former employer’s celebration of Boris’s downfall in the Partygate scandal may have contributed to the situation. She had travelled a long distance from Harare to work at the Johnsons’ mansion in Oxfordshire.

EMA Takes On Sand Poachers

RESIDENTS of Chitungwiza have raised alarm over deep trenches that have been left uncovered by sand poachers who have become a law unto themselves as they harvest river sand.

Sand poachers have become a menace in the dormitory town of Chitungwiza where they are fuelling land degradation as they harvest river sand.

Their illegal sand poaching activities are also creating death traps for children who frequent the area for pastime activities.

Environmental Management Agency Spokesperson, Ms Amkela Sidange revealed the seriousness of the damage being caused to the environment and the danger to human life.

“We conduct raids on sand poachers, but we don’t do that always due to insufficient resources, and so the sand poachers always go back to their illegal activities. It is like a cat-and-mouse game, not only does Sand poaching increase vulnerability to flooding in areas receiving high rainfall, but the practice of sand poaching also threatens wetlands, sand poaching also affects water availability downstream, which then affects water use for climate adaptation purposes,” she said.

This comes hardly a year after a Chitungwiza family lost two children, who drowned in an open pit that was filled with water in the Mayambara area.

Exam Cheats Jailed 9 Years As Rapists Are Released

“Zimbabwe Announces Stricter Penalties to Combat Exam Paper Leaks Amidst Concerns Over Accountability for Corruption”

In a move aimed at tackling the persistent problem of exam paper leaks, the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) has introduced new regulations imposing significantly harsher penalties on those involved in leaking public examination question papers. This decision comes at a time when concerns have been raised about the apparent impunity of individuals like Wicknell Chivayo, who have benefited from corrupt practices involving public facilities.

Under the newly announced measures, individuals convicted of leaking public examination question papers now risk facing up to nine years in prison, a substantial increase from the previous maximum penalty of one year. Learners found guilty of the same offense will also face severe consequences, with their examination results being nullified.

Previously, those caught engaging in similar misconduct often received community service sentences, leading to criticism that the punishment did not act as a sufficient deterrent.

Zimsec board chairperson, Professor Eddie Mwenje, emphasized that these new regulations have been developed in response to the increasing problem of question paper leaks, which have been exploited for financial gain. He stated that the help of the Attorney-General was sought to draft these stricter regulations, which will be gazetted in the near future.

In a separate interview, Zimsec public relations manager Ms. Nicky Dlamini highlighted that these stringent penalties are intended to discourage potential offenders. Dlamini underlined that Zimsec has taken various measures to enhance examination security and prevent malpractices, though the exact details of these security enhancements remain confidential.

According to the new regulations, candidates found in possession of question papers before the examination, as well as those with pre-access to the papers, will have their results nullified. The same consequences will apply to candidates who are found to have distributed exam papers before the official tests. These individuals will only be allowed to take their exams after a delay of “four examination sessions.”

To prevent future leaks, Zimsec has also implemented additional security measures during the transportation of question papers and answer transcripts.

However, educationist Professor Caiphas Nziramasanga stressed that combating exam paper leaks requires transparency and integrity at every level of the education system. He highlighted the need for honesty in all aspects of the examination process, from the creation of question papers to their distribution and administration.

In recent years, Zimbabwe has faced numerous instances of exam paper leaks, leading to the conviction of over 100 individuals, including school headmasters, teachers, police officers, and learners. The introduction of stricter penalties reflects the government’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the education system and addressing this pressing issue.

As these new regulations take effect, Zimbabwean authorities hope to send a clear message that cheating and corruption in education will not be tolerated, while also encouraging a culture of academic honesty among learners.

CIO Caught In the Act Bribing ZEC Polling Agents

“Allegations of CIO Payments to ZANU PF Polling Agents Raise Concerns About Zimbabwe’s Electoral Integrity”

By Dorrothy Moyo | In a recent report published by the Masvingo Mirror, startling revelations have emerged regarding the alleged involvement of the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) in financing ZANU PF polling agents during Zimbabwe’s 2023 elections. This revelation has ignited a firestorm of controversy and condemnation from both domestic and international observers, further tarnishing the credibility of Zimbabwe’s electoral processes.

According to the report, ZANU PF polling agents in Gutu were purportedly funded by the CIO offices at Mpandawana, providing strong indications that the ruling party’s electoral campaign was closely intertwined with state apparatus. This troubling development has fueled claims of electoral rigging and a lack of transparency in Zimbabwe’s electoral processes.

One of the key concerns raised by analysts and opposition parties is the blurring of lines between the state and ZANU PF. The close proximity of state institutions like the CIO to ruling party activities raises suspicions of undue influence and manipulation in the electoral process. This conflation of state and party interests has been a recurring issue in Zimbabwean politics, eroding public trust in the fairness of elections.

The report highlights that, following public alerts, Masvingo Mirror reporters visited the CIO offices next to Gutu Police Station, where they discovered a significant gathering of polling agents and members from four Gutu constituencies. These agents had reportedly received their allowances from these offices shortly after the elections. However, their visit to the CIO offices left them disappointed, as they were not provided with money for transportation and meals, raising further questions about the motives behind this financial support.

Opposition parties, particularly the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), have been vocal in their criticism. They have accused the CIO, through an organization known as Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), of orchestrating the elections and even exerting influence over the Zimbabwe Electoral Authority (ZEC). This alleged interference is said to have led to widespread irregularities in Gutu District, where evidence of election rigging has continued to surface.

CCC’s deputy spokesperson, Gift Siziba, emphasized that international observers refused to endorse the election due to their belief that it was not conducted impartially. Siziba argued that FAZ, not ZEC, effectively managed the electoral process, highlighting the troubling intertwining of ZANU PF and the state.

Civil society organizations, represented by the Zimbabwe NGO Forum’s acting director, Wilfred Mandinde, have also expressed their concerns. Mandinde decried the involvement of state institutions in political party affairs, calling it “shocking.” He emphasized that the state should remain neutral and not engage in financial transactions on behalf of any political party.

The report further disclosed the allowances received by ZANU PF agents, with chief agents reportedly receiving US$200, roving agents US$160, and ordinary agents US$120. These figures underscored ZANU PF’s significant financial resources in the lead-up to the election, raising questions about campaign financing and transparency.

Gutu District, in particular, appears to have borne the brunt of these alleged irregularities, with numerous opposition supporters reportedly facing harassment by FAZ operatives. Some were even jailed and had to pay hefty fines for minor altercations with FAZ members, further highlighting the contentious and potentially coercive nature of the electoral process.

In summary, the Masvingo Mirror’s revelations regarding CIO payments to ZANU PF polling agents have ignited a new wave of concerns about Zimbabwe’s electoral integrity. The blurring of lines between the state and the ruling party, coupled with allegations of election manipulation, have drawn condemnation from both domestic and international quarters. As Zimbabwe navigates its political landscape, these allegations underscore the pressing need for electoral reform and greater transparency to restore public trust in the democratic process.

“Male Hospital Employee Molested Me” -Complainant

Man Seeks Justice After Alleged Molestation by Health Worker – Police Under Scrutiny

ESIGODINI, September 23, 2023 – A case of alleged molestation has shaken the community, as a man bravely seeks justice after claiming he was sexually assaulted by a male health worker from Mzingwane Health Centre. The victim alleges that the case has been swept under the carpet, raising concerns about police handling.

The accused health worker is accused of sending the victim US$30 as hush money following the incident. The victim’s efforts to obtain information on the case have hit a wall, as the police at Esigodini Police Station, where the complaint was lodged, have reportedly been uncooperative and failed to provide a case number when questioned by the victim’s family.

Matabeleland South Police spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena expressed surprise at the lack of information, saying, “I am not aware of that case yet. I will have to consult Esigodini police where the matter was reported and get details on Monday.”

According to a witness in the case, who also happens to be the victim’s brother, the alleged incident occurred on the night of September 5, 2023, at the health center where the victim had gone to retrieve his belongings.

The brother recounted, “My brother asked me to accompany him to the clinic to collect his belongings he had left when he had to go to a different station. He then opened up to me saying there was someone at work who was making sexual advances at him and sending him messages, so he was scared to visit the clinic alone.”

Allegedly, after collecting his belongings, the accused health worker called the victim into another room, leading to a confrontation.

Seeing that his initial approach had failed, the accused made another attempt, summoning the victim to sign for money. The witness described the horrifying scene: “I got there and heard my brother pleading with the man not to do what he wanted to do, and at this point, I kicked open the door only to find him having stripped my brother while he was half naked, touching my brother’s private parts and kissing him.”

A brawl ensued, drawing the attention of clinic staff, school officials, and others in the vicinity. The altercation resulted in damage to a glass door and test tubes at the clinic.

The accused health worker, naked, disappeared into the night. Esigodini Police Station officers responded to the scene, and both the victim and the witness provided statements.

However, subsequent attempts to obtain information about the progress of the case led to frustration for the victim’s family. They claim they were passed from one police officer to another, leaving them with doubts about the case’s status.

The victim’s brother expressed concern, stating, “The perpetrator is out there, and we want justice served. Last week, the police called my brother and asked us to come to Esigodini and make new statements, but my brother has not done that because of the trauma and pain he feels, reliving an ordeal he would rather not.”

Local sources close to the matter have expressed concerns that similar incidents may have occurred among male workers at the clinic in the past. There are also fears that students may have been affected, with cases potentially going unreported.

The accused health worker is alleged to have sent the victim US$30 as hush money after the attack before switching off his mobile phone. Efforts to obtain a comment from the accused have been unsuccessful.

The community is now calling for a thorough investigation into this distressing case, with many demanding transparency and accountability from the authorities.- state media

Manchester United Punish Star Player

Boy(16) Abuses Own Sisters, 12, 6

A 16-year-old boy from Harare who is accused of sexually abusing his two siblings aged six and 12 has appeared in court facing charges of rape.

The teenager who appeared in court this Friday is alleged to have raped his siblings on several occasions before he disappeared.

It is alleged that the boy sexually abused his two young sisters whenever he was left taking care of the children.

He was remanded in custody after his father told the court his son had become a burden.

Meanwhile, in another case, two siblings from Chihota have appeared in court for allegedly defrauding a Harare couple of US$20,000 in a botched land deal.

Tawanda and Tinofara Mvududu allegedly misrepresented to a couple they met in Harare Central Business District that they had four residential stands for sale in the Mahusekwa area at US$5,000 each.

The court heard that the couple paid for the four stands and only realised they had been duped when they wanted to change ownership.

Dozen Jailed Over Anti-Zanu PF Demo

By-A dozen of Zanu PF supporters were imprisoned on Thursday for their alleged involvement in public violence at the party’s headquarters in Harare.

They had participated in a demonstration demanding the dismissal of Zanu PF’s Harare Youth Chairperson, Emmanuel Mahachi. The accused appeared before Harare Magistrate Appollonia Marutya and were remanded in custody. They will return to court on Friday for a bail hearing.

According to the State, on September 19, the twelve individuals gathered at the Zanu PF headquarters, where they chanted party slogans and held placards calling for Mahachi’s removal. Despite police warnings to cease their activities, they continued to disrupt the peace. Their prepared charge sheet stated:

The accused persons unlawfully… disturbed the peace, security or order of the public by chanting Zanu PF party slogans and chanting ‘Mahachi must go,’ ‘Pasi neGwekwerere’

They were wearing black T-shirts inscribed ‘Mahachi must go’. The accused persons were told by the police to stop what they were doing but they turned a deaf ear and continued to act in common purpose to disturb the peace.

Ken Sharpe Inspires Hope & Empowers Zimbabweans

By Business Reporter- WestProp Boss, Ken Sharpe, says “I’m not selling properties; I’m selling hope,” to the citizens of Zimbabwe through his housing project he is spreading to all the four corners of the country.

In recent years, Zimbabwe’s real estate industry has undergone a transformation, and at the heart of this change is Westprop, a company led by Ken Sharpe.

Indeed Mr Sharpe’s commitment to the country’s development goes beyond constructing luxurious properties; he is selling hope for a brighter future.

One of the most notable instances of Westprop’s impact on Zimbabwe’s cultural landscape was its role as a headline sponsor for Miss Universe Zimbabwe.

This marked Zimbabwe’s return to the global stage of the pageant after a 22-year absence due to political challenges.

Among many other offerings, the company provided two years of free accommodation to the winner of Miss Universe Zimbabwe in one of their plush properties in Harare.

Mr. Sharpe, in his opening remarks, encapsulated the essence of his mission. He related a conversation with his wife, highlighting the age-old debate between beauty and brains conquering the world.

However, he arrived at a profound realisation: it’s love that truly has the power to conquer the world.

“When I met my wife, she said to me that beauty will conquer the world. And then I met her other half because she’s from an identical twin sister, from the same egg; they look identical. And her sister said, ‘No, my sister is wrong,'” narrated Mr Sharpe as he welcomed the guests.

“Brains and intelligence will conquer the world. But as I lived with her and realized how much of a good person she is, her heart, her love for the people, is really what she’s all about.

“And that’s why I have come to the conclusion that it’s actually love that will conquer the world.”

This perspective resonates deeply with Westprop’s approach to real estate development. As Zimbabwe’s economy revives and the demand for affluent properties increases, Mr Sharpe looks beyond bricks and mortar.

He envisions the potential for his company to contribute to something greater — the development of the nation itself. He views his work as a manifestation of love for Zimbabwe and its people.

While Mr. Sharpe’s role as a property developer involves investing billions of dollars into the ground and changing the skyline of Harare, his mission transcends real estate transactions.

He sees himself as a purveyor of hope.

“I’m not actually selling properties,” Mr Sharpe asserts. “I’m selling something that’s much more valuable. I’m selling hope. Hope in our nation of Zimbabwe, hope for a brighter future.”

This perspective underscores his belief that no matter the challenges a nation faces, hope is a powerful force that can inspire progress.

As Zimbabwe continues on its journey of economic and social rejuvenation, Ken Sharpe’s vision serves as a testament to the transformative power of love, hope, and an unwavering belief in the potential of a nation and its people.

Robber killed by mob

By A Correspondent- In a shocking incident that unfolded in Maphisa, Kezi, Matabeleland South province a man was allegedly murdered by a mob consisting of over 20 individuals on Monday for robbery.

The circumstances leading up to the incident began with Hloniphani Ndlovu (45), the now deceased, who was armed with a firearm, robbing a group of individuals who are now considered suspects in the case.

The suspects who have since been arrested and are set to appear in court are, Tamsanqa Nyathi (22), Perfect Nyoni (22), Godswill Dube (21), Somandla Ndlovu (17), Lodrick Hloniphani (24) all from Malindi village in Kezi and Mkhululi Ncube (39), Prince Nkosilathi Khumalo (32), Makesure Mguni (33) all from Mangala village in Kezi.

It is reported that, after the robbery, the suspects reportedly teamed up and pursued Ndlovu. Upon catching up with him, they subjected him to a severe assault. Subsequently, the suspects handed him over to local police in Maphisa. Recognising the severity of his injuries, the authorities referred him to hospital.

Tragically, the man succumbed to his injuries shortly after being admitted to the hospital.

The incident has raised concerns within the community, as the alleged murder involved a large group of individuals. Police are investigating the matter to identify and apprehend all those involved in the incident.

The motive behind the severe assault and subsequent death of the deceased remains unclear at this stage. It is speculated that the suspects may have sought revenge for the earlier robbery, although this is yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

Matabeleland South police spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena confirmed the incident and urged members of the public to desist from taking the law into their own hands but allow the authorities to deal with such cases.

Mom connives with new lover, kills own daughter

HOW rare is filicide, the death of a child at the hands of a parent?

And what would drive a mother to kill her newborn? The killing of a child by its parent is not as rare as you might think.

According to research a startling pattern of trauma and pregnancy denial incites some young women to do the unthinkable.

In a shocking case, a 24-year-old from Mbamba Village under Chief Gampu in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North province who was employed as a domestic worker in Kandana Village in Plumtree allegedly teamed up with her new husband to kill her 11-month-old child from her previous relationship.

Desperate to become husband and wife, Leaflet Ndlovu and Trust Mitsi reportedly connived to kill the former’s daughter from her previous relationship.

Circumstances are that on 8 September at around 10pm Leaflet allegedly connived with her boyfriend Mitsi who is still at large to strangle her 11-month-old baby but she did not die.

It is reported that the following day Leaflet, in a bid to cover her failed evil mission, contacted Givemore Ndlovu, her employer’s younger brother and told him that the child was not feeling well.

When Givemore came to see the child he reportedly found her groaning in pain and her left leg was swollen.

It is alleged that the following day Givemore took Leaflet and the baby to Bakisani Gambule’s homestead to seek assistance from Hleziphi Ncube, a community health worker since Givemore thought the child was dehydrated.

Ncube reportedly refused to assist them claiming that the child was not dehydrated and suspected that the child could have been assaulted or fallen from the bed and advised them to take her to hospital.

On their way back the child reportedly died and Givemore went and reported the matter to the police who attended the scene.

On examining the child, the police reportedly noticed that her left foot was swollen.

They ferried the body to Plumtree District Hospital mortuary where a post mortem was conducted and results revealed that the cause of the child’s death was due to impaired breathing, strangulation (constriction of the neck).

Investigations after the post mortem results led to the arrest of Leaflet who has since appeared before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware facing a murder charge.

She was not formally charged and was remanded in custody to 2 October and the magistrate advised her to apply for bail at the High Court.

Underwear stealing gogo nabbed

By A Correspondent- In a rather surreal and soul-shaking case, a 61-year-old granny was busted for stealing women’s underwear and hiding them between her thighs at one of the shops situated in Bulawayo’s central business district.

The embarrassing incident which happened at a shop situated at corner Jason Moyo Street and Sixth Avenue took a more awkward turn when the granny, Christine Ncube, attempted to conceal the stolen items in a 2 kg empty plastic sugar paper.

The theft was discovered when the security guard who was standing by the door noticed Ncube walking in an unusual manner as she approached the exit.

Sensing something amiss, the guard alerted a female security officer  who requested to search Ncube.

“I noticed from the way this woman was walking that something was wrong, and the way she was nervous too, also she spent a lot of time in the shop and was looking around all the time to see if people were watching,” explained the security guard who preferred anonymity.

“Her actions were suspicious from the minute she walked into the shop,” added the security guard.

As she was about to get to the exit, the plastic containing the stolen panties slipped from between her legs before the search could commence.

Adding to the shocking revelation, Ncube was accompanied by her own granddaughter, who was also found in possession of a plastic bag filled with stolen panties.

“We were more shocked to find out that this lady was not alone in all this, she was with her granddaughter who had also stolen from us,” said a  shopkeeper  who also requested anonymity.

“In total the panties that were stolen amounted to 16 as each of them had eight in their plastic papers,” added the shopkeeper.

The motive behind their actions remains unclear as Ncube failed to provide a satisfactory explanation when questioned by the shopkeepers.

The shopkeepers wasted no time in involving the authorities, promptly escorting Ncube and her granddaughter to Bulawayo Central Police Station.

PHD members cry foul over “bogus” projects

Several members of Prophetic Healing Ministries in Mutare are counting their losses after they invested cash into projects started by the church but did not get any return on the investments.

Several members of PHD, a megachurch founded and led by controversial preacher Walter Magaya, who spoke to a local publication are bitter after they were allegedly conned by the man of the cloth.

A disgruntled PHD Ministries member, who preferred anonymity, told Pindula News that Magaya introduced what he called empowerment schemes like farming, beekeeping, farming, mining, and housing projects in 2016. He said:

I joined housing and mining projects. The company was opened by the then second vice president Mohadi in 2018.

This project was supposed to assist me with raising money for the housing project as well as my other financial needs at 40% every three months per year.

From 2018 to date, nothing has been said about this venture. Sometime last year I phoned one of the prayer line numbers and I was given a number that was said to be of Yadah Connect.

I phoned and was told people were being given back the money they invested. I visited PHD offices on the 14th of March 2022.

I submitted my papers for a refund. From last year to date, I have been visiting Harare to no fruition.

Last week on the 10th of this month visited their offices after I had been promised my refund.

I was shocked at the time they had promised me to collect my money from my deposit of $1 600 I was given $100 only.

The most painful thing about this matter is that the prophet is silent on everything.

The PHD Ministries congregant added that he joined a company called Planet Africa in 2017 and deposited US$1 600 in total. He said:

I joined Planet Africa housing project in 2017. I paid a deposit of US$600. But it was supposed to be US$1 000 to Yadah Connect thus for the mining venture I deposited US$1 000.

From reliable sources within the ministry, the company is not working. The reasons are not being mentioned.

The mining project was supposed to cover the housing project. People are being refunded all the deposits they made either with housing or mining.

They added up what I paid and offered to refund me. The reason for giving people sums of $100 or any other figure is that the church doesn’t have money.

Another member of the megachurch also based in Mutare, who also spoke on condition of anonymity said it has been eight since he invested money in Magaya’s projects but nothing tangible has come out of it. He said:

I made a US$1 500 deposit in housing and farming projects but I never received any return. So, from 2016 up to now, I have received nothing from the church.

On 14 February 2022, we travelled to their offices in Harare and were informed that if we wanted to make withdrawals, we should right affidavits and bring them to Harare. We did as we were instructed.

So in February last year, we were advised that we would get back our money after six months.

After six months had elapsed, we called them inquiring about the withdrawals and they said they were experiencing cashflow challenges and we were told to come to Harare in September 2022.

However, nothing materialised in September last year. So on 20 September 2023, I again called the Yadah Connect office but they were evasive. The problem is that they constantly move you from pillar to post.

When I called them on the 20th, I asked them to give me Magaya’s number so that I could talk to him directly but they said I should come to Harare on 17 December. However, I expect to get US$100 or US$200 as they had previously promised.

He said his wish is for Magaya to address them in person as he did when he launched the projects and convinced them to part with their hard-earned cash. Said the congregant:

A lot of people invested money into the purported projects believing that Magaya was a man of God only to realise that the so-called “Man of God” was planning to dupe the poor.

He said another challenge that they are facing is that they have nowhere to turn because even if they take the legal route, the case simply dies a natural death. Added the congregant:

When we went to the police, they said “Magaya is a man of God so what do you want us to do about the matter?”

An official at Yadah Connect who spoke to Pindula News on Thursday, 21 September, could neither confirm nor deny that the church owes congregants thousands of dollars in cash from unfulfilled promises.

She said she was not in a position to give a formal response and didn’t have the finer details about the matter.

The official also refused to reveal the identity of the person responsible for such matters but promised to get this reporter through to the boss. She was, however, yet to honour her pledge more than 24 hours later.

How On Earth Did Mnangagwa Complete A Law Degree In Less Than 2 Years At University Of Zambia?

Unraveling the Enigma of Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Education and Early History.

By Farai D Hove | In recent years, questions surrounding the early life and education of Emmerson Mnangagwa, the President of Zimbabwe, have come under scrutiny.

Mnangagwa’s claim of completing a law degree at the University of Zambia in just two years, between 1975 and 1977, has raised eyebrows and prompted further investigation into his background. Renowned columnist Reason Wafawarova and researcher Jonathan Chando have delved into these mysteries, shedding light on some of the discrepancies in Mnangagwa’s narrative.

First, let’s address the timeline of Mnangagwa’s education and early years. Born in 1942, Mnangagwa’s assertion that he started school in the 1940s seems unlikely, given that he would have been too young to attend school until around 1950. Moreover, his claim of discovering the meaning of his name, Dambudzo, in a school library raises questions about why he needed a library to understand a common name in his generation.

The next puzzling aspect is Mnangagwa’s involvement in various activities during the tumultuous years leading up to Zimbabwean independence. According to Wikipedia, he led the Crocodile Gang in 1964 and was associated with political parties such as UNIP, Zapu, and Zanu during the early 1960s. However, Jonathan Chando provides a different perspective, stating that ZANU and ZAPU did not have military wings before 1964, and the Crocodile Gang was involved in non-military operations.

Mnangagwa’s claim of receiving a death sentence in 1965 for allegedly bombing a locomotive also faces scrutiny. Chando contends that the crime was sabotage/arson and not murder, and there was no death sentence for such offenses in Rhodesia. Mnangagwa’s narrative of narrowly escaping the hangman’s noose due to his age is disputed by this account.

Further complicating matters is the question of Mnangagwa’s release from prison in 1975 and his subsequent pursuit of a law degree at the University of Zambia. This timeline appears perplexing, as it implies that he not only completed his law degree but also practiced as an attorney in Zambia before abruptly leaving for Mozambique in 1977 to join the liberation war as Robert Mugabe’s personal assistant and bodyguard.

Chando asserts that Mnangagwa did not join the liberation war in the conventional sense, as he was not a combatant and had no military training. Instead, his proximity to Josiah Tongogara through marriage and his prior acquaintance with Mugabe from prison facilitated his role as Mugabe’s aide.

In light of these conflicting narratives and unanswered questions, the enigma surrounding Emmerson Mnangagwa’s early history and education persists. It is evident that various accounts and official records do not align, leaving room for skepticism and further scrutiny of the President’s past. Mnangagwa’s journey from a purported death row inmate to a prominent political figure remains a subject of intrigue and debate, underscoring the need for a comprehensive examination of his history to unveil the truth behind the man who leads Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile, Reason Wafawarova writes in full saying:
RIZZ WAFA
Let me try and knit this one. ED was born in 1942. He says he went to school in the 40s. Then the youngest one could start school was 7.

So he probably started school in 1949. But that’s unlikely because he only turned 7 in September when schools have always opened in January in Zimbabwe, then Southern Rhodesia.

So realistically he could only have started school in 1950, isn’t it?

But there is more mystery. He says in the 40s he was old enough to use the school library and it is at the library where he discovered the meaning of Dambudzo his name. It is also at the library that he discovered and adopted the name Emmerson , in a book he was reading. He says he changed his name Dambudzo because he didn’t like the meaning he discovered in the library. Dambudzo and Nhamo are common names of the President’s generation. Its surprising he needed a school library to know what Dambudzo means.

He claims he also got an award in English and Arithmetics in the 40s. His mother got shocked to see her boy walk up to pick the award after the name Emmerson was called.

This is where there are many unanswered questions about our President. Lots of things just don’t naturally connect in his history.

When did he enrol and finish his LLB at Zambia University? When was he doing military training in Egypt? When did he do military training in China? When did he do military training in Tanzania? Was he part of the heroic Crocodile Gang or not?

Wikipedia says he led the gang in 1964. He was a UNIP member in Zambia in 1959. Joined Zapu in 1961. Joined Zanu in 1963. By 1965 he was serving a 10 year jail sentence.

So between 1963 and 1965 his history must accommodate training in Tanzania, Egypt and China, plus leading the Crocodile Gang in the bush, plus solo war efforts like bombing a locomotive in Masvingo. What a war time busy man!

Did he actually blow up a locomotive in Masvingo? Where exactly and when?

It’s said on Wikipedia this was sentenced to death in 1965. He would have been 23 then at the time the bombing happened.

Then it’s said he escaped death because he was Under 21, and could not be hanged.

Released from prison in 1975, he is said to have studied Law at the University of Zambia and competed. It’s also said he did another similar Law Degree with the University of London, which is quite curious.

How did he get released from prison in 1975, and managed to study Law, complete it, practice for 2 years as an attorney in Zambia, quit, go to Mozambique in 1977 and join the liberation war as Mugabe’s personal assistant and bodyguard?

It’s really hard to knit together the history
IN RESPONSE JONATHAN CHANDO HAS THIS TO SAY
I’ve written about this previously.
1. ED was never trained in Egypt, China or Tanzania. ZANU and ZAPU had no military wings before 1964.

ZIPRA was formed by Jason Ziyapapa Moyo in 1964, ZANLA was formed in 1965. So no one was trained before 1964.

2. Zambia was Northern Rhodesia until 24 October 1964. So no organisation for military training could have been organised from Northern Rhodesia before Zambian independence in October 1964. The Crocodile Gang was led by William Ndangana, and comprised 5 people including Ndangana. The Crocodile Gang were a group of militants who were not military trained and only used petrol bombs and pangas in their operations.

They only operated in Melsetter (Chimanimani) and nowhere else. In 1985 ZBC featured a documentary narrating the exploits of the 5 Crocodile Gang members which never mentioned Mnangagwa and he never challenged it or mentioned that he was part of the Crocodile Gang. He never claimed to have been part of the Crocodile Gang when Ndangana was alive. Ndangana went for training in China after the Crocodile Gang operation in 1965 among the first ZANLA cadres to go for training.

The other surviving member of the Crocodile Gang, Amos Kademaunga went for training in Tanzania soon after being released from prison in 1972. He is alive and I speak with him to date.

When Mnangagwa was released from prison, he never joined the camps in Zambia because he was not a combatant and was not known in ZANlA. He was released and never went to see Chitepo who was then leading ZANLA/ZANU.

Soon after his arrival in Lusaka, Chitepo was assassinated by Rhodesians.

Coincidence?
Mnangagwa courted and hurriedly married Josiah Tongogara’s first cousin on arrival in Zambia, close coincidence. He joined the war in Chimoio in 1977 through his proximity to Tongogara through marriage and used his acquaintance with Mugabe in prison to become his personal assistant. He never went through training in Mozambique. He’s not a war veteran nor a trained combatant.

3. His claim that he was sentenced to death and saved by age is nothing but fallacy. He claims he was arrested for bombing a goods train which was parked at a siding in Masvingo. His crime was therefore sabotage/arson and not murder. There was no death sentence for arson/sabotage in Rhodesia. Amos Kademaunga of the original Crocodile Gang was sentenced to 10 years for bombing a police station in Melsetter and not death sentence.

There’s a lot of lies in Mnangagwa’s history which is just too embarrassing to believe. He’s simply a fraud and conman who infiltrated ZANLA and fooled the leadership all the way.

David Coltart Dumps Old And Retrogressive Bulawayo Culture

David Coltart, the newly elected CCC Mayor of the City of Bulawayo, has announced that he will not be buying a new mayoral car for the next 5 years!

“I came here using a car which has been used by the council for the past nine years, that car is enough for the whole of my term, I’m not going to get a new car for the next five years, unless we have enough ambulances,” said Coltart.

“How can we have new cars whilst we have only five ambulances instead of 30, we only have four fire engines and six refuse trucks and we need the minimum of 11. So, it starts with me and it needs to reflect in you.”

A grand gesture from the Mayor and this is not the first time that Coltart has done this. When he was appointed Minister of Education in the 2008 to 2013 GNU, he refused to take his allocated ministerial car. He accepted all the other benefits including the generous salary and allowances, the fuel allocation, globe trotting, etc.!

What is most notable about MDC leaders during the GNU is that they were all busy enjoying the trappings of high office they forgot about implementing the democratic reforms, the number one task entrusted to them during the GNU. Their greed was so obvious that Zanu PF cronies openly mocked the MDC leaders.

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to quietly enjoy the gravy train good-life; they will never rock the boat!) Zanu PF boasted when they were asked why MDC was not implementing the democratic reforms.

True enough, MDC leaders did not rock the GNU boat: they failed to implement even one token reform in five years. Not even one token reform!

When SADC leaders realised the 2013 elections were going ahead with no reforms implemented; they advised MDC leader not to participate in the elections until reforms were implemented. The wise council fell on deaf ears. David Coltart was one of the MDC leaders who have since admitted of the sheer futility of participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship and the failed state which is Zimbabwe today!

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the (2013) elections,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

No doubt, Mayor Coltart must have tried to persuade his fellow MDC/CCC leaders on the the sheer insanity of participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. When he discovered there were no takers, for exactly the reasons the MDC leaders had ignored SADC leaders to implement the reforms during the GNU – greed and breath-taking incompetence – Coltart throw in the towel. He joined the rest of the opposition in participating in rigged elections out of greed.

Zimbabwe would have been transformed into a healthy and functioning democratic nation by 2013, at the latest, if MDC leaders had implemented the democratic reforms. We are still a failed state stuck with this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship because the regime has been rigging the elections thanks to MDC leaders’ betrayal on reforms.

Mayor Coltart and his CCC friends participated in these 2023 elections knowing fully well that doing so would give the election process “credibility” and thus give Zanu PF political legitimacy. (The SADC and AU election observers have since dismiss the election process as a sham and thus denying Zanu PF political legitimacy, regardless of the full house Zimbabwe opposition’s participation.)

Like it or not the city of Bulawayo will not buy the required 25 ambulances, fire engines, etc. from the money saved from buying a new mayoral car. What the city and the nation needs is an end to this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship but for that to happen we must implement the democratic reforms and end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. At the present moment the greatest impediment to implementing reforms is none other than the MDC/CCC leaders who have sold out on reforms out of greed.

How ironic that Mayor David Coltart is denied himself the mayoral car and is making a big song and dance about it. Meanwhile he and his fellow CCC leaders continue participating in these flawed elections to perpetuate the failed state and the tragic human suffering it has brought out of selfish greed!

Mayor Coltart and his CCC leaders are now nothing but the disease carrying fleas, the anaesthetic in their bite in not for the victim’s benefit but the bug’s – it will gorge itself unperturbed!

Mmusi Maimane Blasts Cyril For Breeding Negative Consequences Against South Africa

South Africa is experiencing the negative consequences of the leadership failures within Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu-PF, which have resulted in migration chaos and an increased burden on the country’s social services.

These sentiments were expressed by South Africa’s opposition leader, Mmusi Maimane, who criticized President Cyril Ramaphosa’s stance on Zimbabwe’s sanctions at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Maimane accused Ramaphosa and the ruling African National Congress (ANC) of siding with dictatorship and supporting oppressive leadership.

Maimane argued that South Africa pays the price for Zimbabwe’s dictatorship in various ways, including the strain on healthcare, housing, and social services.

South Africa is home to an estimated 700,000 Zimbabweans, many of whom are undocumented and have migrated southward in search of better opportunities. Some of these Zimbabweans in South Africa are living in dire conditions, seeking shelter in abandoned buildings as they flee economic challenges in their home country.

During his address at UNGA, President Ramaphosa stated that South Africa has been overwhelmed by Zimbabweans seeking refuge due to illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by Western countries. He called for the lifting of these sanctions, emphasizing that they not only harm ordinary Zimbabweans but also have a negative impact on neighboring countries, including South Africa.

CCC Councilor Dies A Month After Winning Chinhoyi Ward 2 Seat

Patricia Chibaya, the Councillor for Ward 2 in Chinhoyi and a member of the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC), has tragically passed away just a month after being re-elected for her second term in office.

Chibaya was one of the 20 Chinhoyi councillors recently inaugurated at the Town House. She initially assumed the role of councillor in 2018 and was later elected as deputy mayor in January 2023 following the resignation of the former Ward 6 Councillor, Mercy Mada.

Chibaya, a youthful councillor in her early 40s, reportedly passed away on a Wednesday at Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital. She had been rushed there for treatment after experiencing symptoms of a mild stroke and a migraine.

The news of Chibaya’s passing has left Chinhoyi Mayor Owen Charuza deeply shocked and saddened.

Mourners are currently gathering at her parents’ residence in Hunyani to pay their respects.

Dumped Plumtree Man In Court For Violently Assaulting Girlfriend

A man from Plumtree has appeared in court for a violent assault on his girlfriend after she informed him of her disinterest in their relationship.

Godknows Ndlovu (24) from Alpha suburb stood before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware, facing charges of physical abuse as outlined in Section (3) (i) (a) in conjunction with Section 4 of the Domestic Violence Act Chapter 5:16.

He pleaded guilty to the charges and was fined US$300, with an alternative sentence of two months’ imprisonment. Furthermore, an additional three months of imprisonment were suspended for a five-year period, contingent upon his avoidance of any offenses involving physical abuse during that time.

Ndlovu explained, “She told me that she was pregnant, but when she came back she told me that she was no longer pregnant. So I was angry that she had aborted.”

According to the State’s case, presented by Voster Makuwerere, the incident occurred on August 26th at approximately 6 am. Ndlovu had a dispute with his girlfriend, Brenda Mdlongwa, after she revealed her intention to end their relationship.

In a fit of rage, Ndlovu confiscated her cellphone and left. Later that same day, around 11 am, he returned home and confronted Mdlongwa regarding their troubled relationship. He began to threaten her with an electric cable and, ultimately, followed through with his threats. He struck her once with an open hand on her face, causing Mdlongwa to flee the house.

Ndlovu pursued her, caught up with her, and forcibly brought her back inside the house.

On September 5th, at approximately 9 pm, Ndlovu and his girlfriend were drinking at Ndabayakhe Night Club when Mdlongwa engaged in a conversation with her friend, known only as Mayibongwe. This interaction displeased Ndlovu, resulting in an altercation between the two parties.

While on their way home, Ndlovu assaulted Mdlongwa multiple times on the face with open hands, causing her to sustain a painful eye injury.

The incident was reported to the police, leading to Ndlovu’s arrest. Mdlongwa received medical attention at the hospital.

Byo Granny Busted For Stealing Underwear And Hiding Between Thighs

In a rather surreal and soul-shaking case, a 61-year-old granny was busted for stealing women’s underwear and hiding them between her thighs at one of the shops situated in Bulawayo’s central business district.

Lawyers Rescue CCC Legislator, Councillors

Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) has rescued an opposition legislator and two councillors, who had been arrested and charged for allegedly committing a litany of offences in the post-election period.

On Friday 15 September 2023, ZLHR secured the release from police custody of Harare Deputy Mayor and Ward 41 Councillor Kudzai Kadzombe, who was arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers on Thursday 14 September 2023 and faced two charges of assault as defined in section 89 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act and obstruction of voter as defined in section 149 of the Electoral Act.

In court, prosecutors alleged that Councillor Kadzombe assaulted Saeed Musaengana, a resident and a voter, at Civic Centre area in Marlborough suburb in Harare West constituency on 23 August 2023,
while he was walking on a path on his way to a polling station intending to cast his vote.

On the charge of obstruction of voter, prosecutors claimed that Councillor Kadzombe unlawfully and wilfully obstructed Musaengana, while he was on his way to a polling station, by holding him with his
hands placed on his neck and grabbing the back of his neck.

Councillor Kadzombe, who was represented by Paidamoyo Saurombe, Ruthy Chibwe, Jeremiah Bamu, Kelvin Kabaya and Tinashe Chinopfukutwa of ZLHR, was released from custody on free bail on Friday 15 September 2023 by Harare Magistrate Dennis Mangosi.
She returns to court on 2 October 2023, where prosecutors undertook to furnish her with a trial date.

Her lawyers notified prosecutors that if they fail to provide her with a trial date on 2 October 2023, they will file an application seeking an order compelling Magistrate Mangosi to remove her from remand.

On Thursday 14 September 2023, Harare Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa also set free Clayd Mashozhera, the Ward 10 Councillor in Sunningdale constituency in Harare on bail after he had been arrested by ZRP officers on 12 September 2023 and charged with three counts of attempted murder as defined in section 189(1) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act as read with section 47 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act and malicious damage to property as defined in section 140 of Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

Prosecutors alleged that on a period between Tuesday 22 August 2023 and Wednesday 23 August 2023, Councillor Mashozhera, who was in the company of 14 unidentified accomplices and were driving various vehicles, blocked one of the complainants, Cyril Nyauchi’s vehicle, a Toyota Spacio and forced Artwell Marwa and Spencer Mudarikwa, the other two complainants out of the vehicle.

After doing this, Councillor Mashozhera, who was represented by Tapiwa Muchineripi of ZLHR, and some of his unidentified accomplices, reportedly assaulted Nyauchi all over his body using truncheons, iron bars, small axes and sjamboks and this resulted in him sustaining severe injuries.

With regard to the charge of malicious damage to property as defined in section 140 of Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, prosecutors claimed that Councillor Mashozhera and the alleged 14
accomplices, blocked Nyauchi’s vehicle and forced Marwa and Mudarikwa of their vehicle and then set the vehicle on fire.

As a result, prosecutors charged that US$10 000, tyres, an empty fuel jerry can, a Samsung mobile phone handset and a Nokia mobile phone handset all valued at US$15 600, were all lost during the incident.

On Thursday 14 September 2023, Harare Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa set free Councillor Mashozhera after admitting him to US$350 bail and ordering him to report twice per week on Monday and Friday at Harare Central Police Station, not to interfere with state witnesses and to
continue residing at his given residential address.

Apart from Councillor Mashozhera, ZRP officers had on Tuesday 12 September 2023 also arrested and detained Sunningdale constituency legislator Hon. Maureen Kademaunga and charged her with attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

Hon. Kademaunga, who was represented by Harrison Nkomo of ZLHR, was released from custody on Wednesday 13 September 2023 after the National Prosecuting Authority conceded that there was no iota of evidence linking the opposition legislator to the commission of the alleged offence.

By working together, we can harness our expertise andlearn from one another to strengthen international institutions for the accelerated attainment of Agenda 2030. The impact of conflicts, terrorism, climate changeinduced natural disasters, biodiversity loss, and the risingprevalence of disease and pandemics, especially in the developing world, deserve our urgent attention.

Regrettably, progress towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals has been uneven, while global solidarity has been tested and self-interest superseding cooperation. We have a duty to reignite our commitment to the principles of the 2030 Agenda andrekindle the spirit of multilateralism.

To accelerate action on the SDGs, we must scale up investments in people and communities by ensuring access to quality education, healthcare, clean water, and sanitation for all. The creation of economic opportunities, decent jobs and entrepreneurship, especially amongwomen and the youth, must remain a priority.

Zimbabwe continues to entrench democracy, constitutionalism, good governance and the rule of law, following the recently held 2023 Harmonised General Elections.
I am pleased to highlight that our country enjoyed peace, before, during and after our free, fair, transparent and credible elections.

Zimbabwe has been under the illegal, unilateral economic sanctions for 23 years, imposed by some Western countries. These sanctions were designed to subjugate the sovereign will of the Zimbabwean people. We, therefore, demand that the unjustified unilateral sanctions be unconditionally lifted, including those imposed on countries like Cuba. We remain grateful for the supportand solidarity of progressive countries in the comity of nations.

In spite of these debilitating sanctions the people of Zimbabwe have become masters of their own destiny. This is anchored on a philosophy that as a people, we have the duty and responsibility of developing our country, using our own domestic resources.
Partners and investors are welcome, guided by our own vision and national priority areas.

We are recording unprecedented development and economic success milestones. For the last three years, our country has been the fastest growing economy in our Southern African region. Further, Zimbabwe is prioritizing the eradication of poverty and improving the quality of life of our people, particularly, those in rural areas. The empowerment and capacitation of communal and small-scale farmers has seen us realise food and nutrition security at both household and national level.

Is Kembo Mohadi Honed For The Job?

By Simbarashe Jingo | The effectiveness of a leader often hinges on the caliber of individuals they choose to surround themselves with. In Zimbabwe’s political landscape, President Mnangagwa has aligned himself with figures like Kembo Mohadi and Constantino Chiwenga. This article scrutinizes their qualifications and contributions to national leadership.

Simbarashe Jingo

Kembo Mohadi: A Middle-of-the-Road Leader.

Kembo Mohadi, a seasoned politician with decades of experience, leaves a trail that lacks significant milestones. His leadership qualities appear rather ordinary, devoid of any exceptional attributes. While he can claim participation in the liberation struggle, his leadership portfolio lacks academic brilliance or notable achievements in industry. Regrettably, Mohadi’s reputation has often been marred by indiscretions, particularly in his relationships with young women.

Constantino Chiwenga: Inept and Ineffectual
Constantino Chiwenga’s tenure in Zimbabwean leadership raises questions about his competence. His track record is marked by ineffectiveness and incompetence, rendering him ill-suited for national leadership. Alongside President Mnangagwa, Mohadi, and Chiwenga, there is a tendency to attribute their shortcomings to external factors, primarily the “sanctions mantra.” However, their inability to articulate a comprehensive policy aimed at transforming Zimbabwe’s economy from a state of hyperinflation to a modern, stable, and peaceful industrialized one is evident.

The leadership of Zimbabwe hinges on the qualities and capabilities of those at the helm. Kembo Mohadi and Constantino Chiwenga, as prominent figures within President Mnangagwa’s administration, exhibit a lack of exceptional leadership attributes. Their inadequacies and inability to drive transformative policies raise concerns about their suitability for national leadership. As the nation grapples with social and economic challenges, it is imperative to critically assess the individuals steering its course.

“In football you have to have all the qualities; you can’t be good only on the ball and lack off the ball. They know it’s a fair and healthy competition.”-Soccer24 News

High Court Acquits Intelligence Officers Accused Of Conniving With Rushwaya In Botched Gold Smuggling Scandal

TWO Central Intelligence Officers from the President’s office Stephen Tserayi and Raphios Mufandauya who were accused of conniving with Henrietta Rushwaya in a botched gold smuggling scandal have been acquitted by the High Court.

The CIOs were accused of facilitating a safe passage for Rushwaya by bypassing all security checkpoints at the airport before she was caught with 6kg of gold.

Rushwaya was initially charged with smuggling having been arrested at the airport before other charges of unlawful possession of gold and bribery accused of offering money to the officers who had discovered the offence, allegations which have been cleared by the magistrates court.

The two were freed after the State represented by Whisper Mabhaudhi stopped their prosecution at the close of the State’s case. The State withdrew charges against them for lack of incriminating evidence resulting in their acquittal by Justice Pisirayi Kwenda, leaving Rushwaya to explain her innocence.

The two represented by Admire Rubaya and Musindo Hungwe had professed their innocence to the allegations.

The two were arrested together with Pakistani businessman Ali Mohamad of Ali Japan and Gift Karanda.

Ali was not indicted by the State after it emerged that he was not involved in the incident.

This came after his lawyer Admire Rubaya wrote to the Acting Prosecutor General Nelson Mutsonziwa stating that there was no evidence linking his client to the offence of smuggling and the gold in question.

An affidavit deposed to by Henrietta Rushwaya exonerating Ali Mahamad was used to justify why he was not to be prosecuted.

It had been alleged that Ali hatched a plan with Rushwaya to smuggle the gold together with Tserayi, Mufandauya and Karanda without acquiring a licence.

It was also alleged that Ali Mohamad generated a commercial invoice purporting Rushwaya had entered an agreement with Ali Japan, a company based in Dubai and deals in gold.

He was alleged to have given the gold to Rushwaya who then engaged Tserayi, a Central Intelligence Organisation operative, to transport her to the airport using his official vehicle.

It was alleged that while at the airport, Rushwaya and Tserayi engaged Mufandauya who was based at the airport and for easy passage and without detection, Tserayi took Rushwaya’s luggage as his and Mufandauya used his airport pass to assist the three in evading security checkpoints as if he was escorting VIPs.

The three were said to have been intercepted by a CAAZ scanner that detected the gold leading to the arrest of Rushwaya and Karanda was alleged to have appeared and name-dropped officials’ names to have Rushwaya freed.

Mbeki Throws Mnangagwa Under The Bus

By- Former South African president Thabo Mbeki has thrown President Emmerson Mnangagwa under the bus and said ED should ask himself, “what’s in the best interests of Zimbabweans?” in order to move the country forward after the disputed August 23 polls.

Mbeki told SABC in New York, United States, during the United Nations that a unity government could resolve the current political impasse in Zimbabwe.

Mbeki, in 2009, brokered a similar political crisis between MDC and Zanu PF.

“In 2008 when the Zimbabweans could see that the elections had not produced a winner, they decided let’s get together as Zimbabweans for five years and see what we can do together,” Mbeki said Thursday
in an SABC interview.
“What must inspire you is not to say I’m a leader of the people of South Africa or ANC president, but to say ‘what would be in the best interests of the country?’… People are holding onto political positions. What’s in the best interests of Zimbabweans in a situation of this kind?”
Drawing parallels with his own removal as ANC president, Mbeki said he could have put up resistance – as Mnangagwa is doing with SADC observer mission findings – but in the end decided to “go along with the wrong decision” triggered by the ruling of a judge who said he and others in his government were involved in a political conspiracy to criminally charge his then deputy, Jacob Zuma.
“In the interests of what happens to South Africa, I thought it was best to say let’s go along with this wrong decision, because to have said ‘No’, to say ‘I’m not going,’ would have created an enormous crisis,” he said.
Mbeki said SADC troika chairman Hakainde Hichilema, the Zambian president, still needs to make a decision on the report of the SADC election observer mission which concluded that the elections did not meet regional and international standards on democratic elections.
He told the SABC: “I’ve not been very close to the Zimbabwe (election) processes. But as far as I know, after the SADC observers had made their comments virtually saying as far as they are concerned the elections were not representative of popular opinion, and submitted their report to the chairman of the SADC organ President Hichilema of Zambia, I don’t know what happened after that. I would presume that then the SADC organ would have had to study the report and make a decision or suggest what is to be done.
“After the 2008 elections which were very disputed, and then the second round of the presidential elections was marked by a lot of violence, the Zimbabwe parties agreed that the only way to respond to this reality is that we must come together in a government of national unity. It was a response to what had happened during the elections.”
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) said Mnangagwa won the August 23 elections with 52 percent, while rival Nelson Chamisa polled 44 percent.
Foreign observers noted widespread intimidation, arrests of local election monitors to stop parallel vote tabulation, disruption of opposition rallies by the police, compromised judges and a lack of transparency by ZEC which has swatted calls to publish analysable polling station results.
Mnangagwa has named a cabinet and is determined to lead the country for what is his second and final five-year term, but Chamisa’s Citizens Coalition for Change is demanding a re-run of the vote under SADC and African Union supervision.
On the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly, Mnangagwa sought meetings with SADC chairman Joao Lourenco, the president of Angola; South African leader Cyril Ramaphosa and Mozambican president Filipe Nyusi in what appeared to be a desperate push to win their backing as his government continues a relentless charge to undermine the report of the SADC observers.
Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF party are concerned that Hichilema – who boycotted the inauguration in Harare on September 4 – could trigger an extraordinary summit to discuss the observer mission report and in the process raise questions about his legitimacy.

In a shift of events, Zimdancehall sensation Hwinza has reportedly ended his relationship with his girlfriend, Malloti. The announcement comes on the heels of Hwinza’s exclusive interview with DJ Ollah 7 on Star FM.

This breakup has sent shockwaves through the internet, as accusations and rumors continue to circulate regarding the reasons behind their split.

Allegations of Car Smashing and Violence

Malloti, in posts allegedly made on Hwinza’s social media account, has accused him of car smashing and violent behavior that supposedly occurred before the Star FM interview, as reported by Zimcelebs.

The specifics of these allegations, including the details of the car incident and the nature of the violence, remain shrouded in mystery. Nevertheless, these serious accusations have cast a shadow over their relationship and triggered widespread speculation about the breakup.

Police Custody Prior to the Interview

Adding further chaos to the situation, Malloti has also claimed that Hwinza was held in police custody before his appearance on Star FM. The circumstances surrounding his alleged arrest remain undisclosed, leaving fans curious about the events leading up to the interview.

The veracity of these claims remains to be determined, and it’s unclear if they are part of a larger narrative surrounding their relationship.

Hwinza denied these drug allegations during the show, but it’s evident that the situation leading up to the interview was fraught with tension.

The breakup of Hwinza and Malloti’s relationship remains a developing story, with many unanswered questions surrounding the events that transpired.

BREAKING: CCC Won 66 Percent Parliamentary Seats

By Farai D Hove | The CCC won two thirds of parliamentary seats, the party president,Nelson Chamisa rehashed in a speech replayed on Friday morning.

As Emmerson Mnangagwa was speaking at the UN General Assembly, Chamisa was making his own alternative speech while addressing his followers in Mash Central.

His statements come at a time when it was revealed that Mnangagwa clearly and openly deployed so called troublemakers  to distort election figures.

Citizens operated a platform that provided accurate reporting of election figures using satellite transmission gadgets planted on top of over 75 mountains.

On 19 Aug, the Ministry of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services’ Permanent Secretary, Ndavaningi “Nick” Mangwana, characterised the opposition’s call for citizens to “defend the vote” as a potential threat to peace.

A deeper examination of recent developments exposed Mangwana’s assertions. Government ruling party Spokesman Christopher Mutsvangwa had since December 2017 publicly and repeatedly announced that the government plans to deploy not only troublemakers but soldiers to alter the election results (click to watch video). This announcement directly contradicted Mangwana’s claim that the “defend the vote” initiative poses the greatest threat to peace.

Between December 15, 2017, and August 5, 2023, the government has repeatedly announced and executed the deployment of soldiers and troublemakers to change election results. This began with Mutsvangwa’s statement before foreign diplomats in Harare on 15 December 2017 as he vividly outlined the deployment of soldiers for this purpose, a plan now being resurrected for the upcoming 2023 polls. “… That election we shall win on a margin bigger than the one we did in 1980… We shall work hard with the ZDF, the best army in the world, ” said ZANU PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa, clearly announcing before foreign diplomats in Harare the deployment of soldiers to change election results which operation was witnessed on 1st August 2018 and has now been rehashed for the 2023 polls. After soldiers had executed their first operation on 1 August 2018, the following day, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga shifted the blame to accuse Nelson Chamisa’s party, as he said the people who fired bullets on the innocent civilians were Chamisa’s hooligans, and when pressed with questions, he shifted to say that the bullets were produced by teargas canisters. After the Motlanthe led Commission was convened to investigate the criminals behind the electoral violence, and legislator and Chamisa deputy, Tendai Biti was forcibly deported from Zambia with the help of former president Edgar Lungu, while blaming Biti to be the violence perpetrator, 7 months later, ZANU PF President, Emmerson Mnangagwa himself would announce to parliament that he is the one who deployed the soldiers.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is since March 2018 controlled by the military and Zimbabwe National Army Major Utloile Silaigwana is ZEC’s Chief Elections Officer. ZEC’s Head of Security, Mavis Matsanga is a serving Central Intelligence Organisation Director and she reports straight to CIO Director General Isaac Moyo.

Beyond the militarization, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission is at a majority span manned by children of top ZANU PF leaders with at least 5 of the 9 commissioners being kids of ZANU PF politburo and central committee members of the incumbent Emmerson Mnangagwa’s headship (see video of undercover discussion with ZEC’s chairperson Priscilla Chigumba.)

Aside this development, are even more sophisticated operations run on behalf of the government by celebrated journalist Hopewell Chin’ono (and George-Charamba-contender for the ministry job) who for a period of over 6 years has been using his award-winning-anti-corruption badge to discredit Nelson Chamisa and the entire civil society as people who have been bribed by western embassies, claims with which he leaked addresses of safe houses for torture victims to Constantino Chiwenga and as late as 6 July 2023 would falsely suggest that the entire civil society has been bribed (click here for the 17 min video compilation.) So effective has this method been that Charamba fearing for his job, ended up revealing to the public how Chin’ono leaked the addresses to the government in order to expose Chinono among his support base in the opposition (video).

President’s Office Forces NSSA Boss To Return Pension Fund Vehicle

By A Correspondent| National Social Security Authority (NSSA) Board Chair, Emmanuel Fundira was allegedly forced to re-turn a car that he had taken from the pension fund after intervention from the Office of the President, a close source privy to the details has said.

Under NSSA policy, the non-executive chairperson is not entitled to a car.

According to sources, Fundira was using a Land Cruiser Defender.

An inside source disclosed that Fundira’s return of the vehicle was prompted by a direct intervention from the highest office in the land.

The source revealed, “The President’s office expressed concern about the misuse of NSSA resources, especially at a time when the authority’s performance and transparency are under scrutiny. It was made clear that such actions were unacceptable since he was appointed to clean the messy at NSSA.”

Contacted for comment, NSSA Board chair said he has not returned the car.

“NSSA has nationwide projects and I was given the car to conduct those. It is wrong to say I took the car when our minister approved the acquisition. The organisation is going through some reforms and I know such utterances are coming from an aggrieved section who are not happy with what I am doing,” he said.

Fundira was appointed after the previous board was accused of looting millions of dollars in hefty allowances and benefits from underpaid pensioners living in abject poverty.

Despite NSSA failing its mandate of establishing sustainable social security schemes for civil servants in Zimbabwe, it has proved, however, that it has capacity to please top bosses through hefty allowances.

Investigations at the time established that the then NSSA general manager Arthur Manase was at the centre of a massive storm involving public funds at the institution.

Manase received a US$750 000 housing loan and continues to receive a monthly US$2 500 housing allowance to service the loan despite the fact that he already owns a home. Five luxury vehicles have since been allocated to him.

Top executives are also receiving loans ranging from US$60 000 to US$100 000 and top of the range latest land discovery vehicles after receiving loans.

Another GNU On The Cards As Mbeki Calls Mnangagwa To Order

By- Zimbabwe could be heading for another Government of National Unity as the former South African president Thabo Mbeki challenges President Emmerson Mnangagwa to ask himself, “what’s in the best interests of Zimbabweans?” in order to move the country forward after the disputed August 23 polls.

Mbeki told SABC in New York, United States, during the United Nations that a unity government could resolve the current political impasse in Zimbabwe.

Mbeki, in 2009, brokered a similar political crisis between MDC and Zanu PF.

“In 2008 when the Zimbabweans could see that the elections had not produced a winner, they decided let’s get together as Zimbabweans for five years and see what we can do together,” Mbeki said Thursday in an SABC interview.

Mbeki said SADC troika chairman Hakainde Hichilema, the Zambian president, still needs to make a decision on the report of the SADC election observer mission which concluded that the elections did not meet regional and international standards on democratic elections.

Mbeki advised Mnangagwa to put “best national interests above self”. Must reprimand Ramaphosa for interfering.

By Wilbert Mukori- After the SADC election observers virtually said the 23 August 2023 Zimbabwe elections are not representative of popular opinion and submitted their report. It was then for SADC to decide,” commented Former SA President Thabo Mbeki.

He then went on to explain that an identical scenario had indeed arisen when Zimbabwe’s 2008 elections had failed to produce a legitimate result because of the blatant cheating after the March vote and the wanton violence during the presidential runoff.

“Zimbabweans then came together and agreed on a Government of National Unity (GNU). It was a response to what had happened in the elections that had failed to produce a legitimate winner,” he explained.

“As a national leader, what must inspire you is to act in the best interest of the nation and not what is good for you as leader.

“Zimbabwe’s current leader must consider what is in the best interests of Zimbabwe is the situation of this kind?”

Very sound advice indeed!

There is no denying that the 23 August Zimbabwe elections were a sham. It is therefore treasonous arrogance that both Zanu PF and CCC have refused to accept this political reality by accepting the ZEC results, taking their respective oaths of office and taking their respective gravy train seats. This government is not legitimate because the elections process was so flawed and illegal it did not produce a legitimate result.

Pretending the election was free, fair and credible and thus dragging the nation deeper and deeper into this political crisis is certainly NOT in Zimbabwe’s best interest.

A new GNU is the way out just as it was the way out in 2008. With one qualification; whilst the 2008 to 2013 GNU failed to implement even one token democratic reform to stop the repeat of the 2008 blatant cheating and wanton violence, hence the reason why we had the shameful flaws and illegalities; no stone must be left unturned to ensure all the democratic reforms are implemented without failure!

Here is a piece of advice to former President Mbeki; please advise your blundering ANC colleagues to stop poking their big noses in Zimbabwe’s business.

Last year the party made an ANC party congress resolution “not to allow regime change in Zimbabwe”! What the devil was this about? It is the people of Zimbabwe alone, in a free, fair and credible elections who decide who governs the country. What right does ANC have in interfering in Zimbabwe’s democratic process?

Worst of all, it is now clear that ANC is hell bent on interfering in Zimbabwe’s electoral process to fulfil its party resolution to stop regime change in Zimbabwe and keep Zanu PF in power regardless of the people of Zimbabwe’s democratic wish.

Whilst the SADC and AU election reports were clear and unambiguous in their condemnation of the 23 August elections as a sham that did not produce a legitimate winner. President Mbeki agrees on this point. It therefore beggars belief why SA present President, Cyril Ramaphose, and the full compliment of ANC government and party leaders attended Mnangagwa’s swearing in ceremony. He was one of only three Heads of State to grace this otherwise illegal process.

Worse still President Ramaphosa has dismissed the damn flaws and illegalities in the SADC election report as “challenges that have occurred anywhere including America”. This is a deliberate and calculated attempt to water down the report and grant this illegitimate Zimbabwe government legitimacy. ANC is doing this for one purpose and one purpose only, to stop regime change in Zimbabwe and fulfil its November 2022 party resolutions.

Zimbabwe is a failed state. 43 years stuck with this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF regime complete its the entourage of corrupt and incompetent opposition parties have left the country in economic ruins and political paralysis. The only sure way out of this mess if for the country to implement the democratic reforms and cure ourselves of this curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

By rightly condemning the 23 August 2023 elections as a farce SADC and the AU were giving Zimbabwe another chance to have a new GNU and implement the democratic reforms. President Ramaphosa is sanitising the SADC report for the sake of imposing Zanu PF as the legitimate government and thus denying Zimbabwe the chance to implement the reforms.

ANC is hell bent to stop regime change in Zimbabwe purely for selfish purposes. The party is facing elections in SA next year, 2024, and is concerned that a regime change in Zimbabwe, especially if it was followed by some economic recover, would set a precedence South African voters may want to follow and thus end ANC’s rule after 30 years.

There is absolutely nothing for Zimbabwe to gain from the imposition of Zanu PF on the nation but every thing to lose by perpetuating the failed state and, worst of all, snatching away the chance to implement reforms.

President Cyril Ramaphosa and his ANC friend are imposing Zanu PF on the people of Zimbabwe for selfish political gain. The people of Zimbabwe are nothing more than pawns in ANC’s selfish political games. This SA government is sowing the seeds of enmity between our two nations. Stop it! For heaven sake, stop it!

He drew the world’s attention to the shackles of illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the United States and its Western Allies.

Mining Investment Advice

1 treat mining like business

In business you invest with the aim of making profit long term and sustainable. Inorder to do that just make a small informal business by listing what you need with exact value don’t forget to include monitoring expenses identify a claim close to you or never invest . If you are still tempted to invest far increase scope of investment so that all you will be able to all final production activities month end .
2 nothing can replace your presence
Gold is a currency that can be used without any purification or processing and around Zimbabwe you find gold nuggets of 5points upto 10kg your absence means you won’t be able to see it or account for production done using your own money. Be there from day one study everything learn all risks and rewards.

Your kids , wife and relatives are not you they can steal from you infact most gold related theft or lack of accountability is orchestrated by related especially the son or daughter in most cases l have come across.

Besides stealing they usually unknowingly disturb or sabotage production in the name of relative. All gold production ends are guarded by mine owner , sponsors or investors and workers nothing is left to chance.

3 avoid overspending on monitoring
Avoid driving up and down to the mine in the name of monitoring because it’s useless and unnecessary unless you spend atleast 6hrs of day time at the mine use public transport and avoid hiring transport for transactions that don’t need a car .

If you want to use a car increase your investment scope to accommodate the car .when ever gold pays you handsomely remember they are dark days ahead plan wisely and create proper backup.

Government Throws Women’s Rights Out Of Window

Violence against women in politics marks ‘moral and ethical failure’- Petronellah Kwanisai

By A Correspondent

Despite a women’s quota system, men continue to dominate Zimbabwean politics.

Many women who fight for political participation suffer harassment and even violence, with no apparent consequences for abusers.

This constitutional requirement had been set to expire this year but was brought back through an amendment. Other sections of the constitution require political parties to put in place mechanisms for women to run for constituency-based seats.

Nevertheless, we have noted that there has been a lack of political will to bring more women into governance.

Zimbabwean women who want to participate in political decision-making face more than just ill will from their peers and political parties.

Despite dominating the voter population, women have been reduced to mostly cheerleaders in Zimbabwe’s political landscape. The large increase in candidate nomination fees impacted all but the wealthy from being able to run for National Assembly seats.

Women who run for office in Zimbabwe face a variety of persistent challenges. The most significant of these are discrimination and all forms of harassment. Women involved with politics faced threats from political opponents, members of their own parties, religious leaders and members of their community at large.

We are rising, but we are not there yet. So I encourage more and more young women to go for elective positions because we can, yes, we can, ” Petronellah Kwanisai, programs director with Girl Child Empowerment of Zimbabwe said.

The Zimbabwean constitution and other legal frameworks contain commitments to
ensure gender equality and provides for temporary measures to promote
participation of women.

According to Tatenda Maposa, a human rights defender, “These measures are not fully enabled in
subordinate legislation, and no sanctions are in place for non-compliance. As a
result, participation of women was lower than in previous elections, as political
parties generally failed to ensure gender balance among their nominated
candidates for directly elected seats, relying solely on seats reserved exclusively for women to give any inclusion for women. “

Council Shuts Down Shopping Centre

Gweru City Council has taken decisive action by closing down the iconic HAJEE Ismail Bahadur Centre, a prominent shopping complex in Gweru, Zimbabwe, renowned as Bahadur Centre. This closure comes as a result of the shopping center’s failure to settle operational fees amounting to millions of dollars.

Bahadur Centre is among the 187 businesses facing closure by the Gweru City Council due to outstanding water bills and other service charges. On Tuesday, the council initiated an operation to shut down businesses indebted to them, and a total of 40 shops within Bahadur Centre were affected by this drastic measure.

Bahadur Centre’s debt to the council has spiraled to an astonishing $60 million. Situated along Emmerson Mnangagwa Way (formerly known as First Street) in Gweru’s central business district, this bustling shopping complex is a hub for various businesses, including beauty salons, electrical shops, and clothing stores, making it one of the city’s busiest and most popular destinations.

The closure led to pandemonium within the center as council workers armed with chains and locks sealed off the shops. Some tenants were left stranded, while others attempted to continue their businesses outdoors.

In response to this sudden development, some tenants approached the real estate company responsible for managing the building, seeking guidance. According to one dealer, they were assured that the shops would be reopened soon, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the uncertainty.

A cellphone shop operator commented on the situation, expressing surprise at being labeled in arrears despite consistently paying their bills through the estate agent. The closure has undoubtedly resulted in significant losses for many shop owners.

Gweru City Council’s public relations officer, Ms. Vimbai Chingwaramusee, explained that numerous businesses had been compelled to shut down due to their failure to settle rates, water bills, and other charges. She emphasized the importance of regular bill payments to prevent such inconveniences and encouraged businesses to meet their financial obligations promptly.

This closure of Bahadur Centre serves as a stark reminder to businesses of the consequences of unpaid fees, shedding light on the city’s ongoing efforts to enforce financial responsibility among its commercial establishments.

Bring Back CALA?

In a significant development, Zimbabwe’s Primary and Secondary Education Minister, Torerayi Moyo, announced yesterday that the future of Continuous Assessment Learning Activities (CALA) will be unveiled by the end of this month. This revelation comes following recent public hearings seeking input on the CALA system, which represents a shift away from traditional knowledge-based final examinations towards competency-based evaluation.

CALA requires students in Grade Seven, O-Level, and A-Level to engage in school projects and tasks, constituting 30 percent of their final examination coursework under the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec) for each subject.

In May, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education initiated consultations with stakeholders to gather feedback on CALA. These hearings, which took place on May 23 and 24, utilized every school as a consultation center.

The public consultations yielded a spectrum of opinions, with some parents and guardians advocating for CALA’s continuation, while others voiced concerns about affordability, especially for learners from low-income families.

Addressing an audience of pupils, teachers, and stakeholders at the 3rd National Annual Science, Sport, and Arts Festival (NASSAF) at Chaplin High School in Gweru, Minister Moyo stressed the importance of public input on the CALA issue. He thanked parents, pupils, stakeholders, and educational partners who participated in the consultative meetings to shape the curriculum in alignment with national development needs.

Minister Moyo revealed that a team of consultants has been engaged to analyze and synthesize the collected data, ultimately influencing the decision on the curriculum for the next seven years. He emphasized that the fate of CALA hinges on the evidence gathered from this process, with the official report set for public release at the end of the month.

Regarding NASSAF, Minister Moyo explained that the event aligns with a 21st-century education approach, emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and emotional intelligence. NASSAF serves as a platform for learners to showcase their skills, knowledge, values, and attitudes across various disciplines, from technical graphics to contemporary dance and ICT.

Minister Moyo commended the innovations displayed by learners, highlighting the importance of a whole-of-government approach in nurturing talents and promoting economic development, particularly in the arts and sciences. The event not only highlights academic achievements but also fosters qualities like discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship through sports participation.

In conclusion, Minister Moyo emphasized the nation’s commitment to producing enterprising youth capable of translating their learning into innovative products and services, creating income opportunities, and contributing to employment generation.

The awaited report on CALA, set to be revealed by month-end, will undoubtedly have far-reaching implications for Zimbabwe’s education system.

Woman Gangs Up With Hubby To Kill Own Baby

– Domestic Worker and Husband Accused of Conspiring to Murder 11-Month-Old Child in Plumtree

In a deeply unsettling case that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 24-year-old domestic worker, Leaflet Ndlovu, hailing from Mbamba Village under Chief Gampu in Tsholotsho, Matabeleland North province, stands accused of collaborating with her new husband, Trust Mitsi, to allegedly murder her 11-month-old child from a previous relationship. The incident has left the town of Kandana Village in Plumtree in disbelief.

Reports suggest that Leaflet Ndlovu and Trust Mitsi were driven by their desire to solidify their union as husband and wife, leading them to conspire to end the life of Ndlovu’s infant daughter from a prior relationship.

The shocking events unfolded on the night of September 8th, around 10 p.m., when Leaflet is believed to have conspired with her boyfriend, Mitsi, who is currently evading authorities, to strangle her 11-month-old child. Disturbingly, the child survived this sinister plot.

To cover up their failed attempt, the following day, Leaflet reached out to Givemore Ndlovu, her employer’s younger brother, and informed him that the child was unwell. Concerned, Givemore arrived to check on the baby and discovered her in agonizing pain, with a swollen left leg.

In a bid to seek help, Givemore took Leaflet and the baby to Bakisani Gambule’s residence, seeking assistance from Hleziphi Ncube, a community health worker. Suspecting foul play and discounting dehydration as the issue, Ncube advised them to take the child to the hospital. Tragically, on their way back, the child succumbed to her injuries.

Givemore reported the matter to the police, who promptly launched an investigation. A post-mortem conducted at Plumtree District Hospital mortuary revealed that the child’s death was a result of impaired breathing and strangulation, implicating the grim intentions of those involved.

Following the post-mortem results, Leaflet Ndlovu was arrested and brought before Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware, where she faced a murder charge. She was remanded in custody until October 2nd, with the magistrate advising her to apply for bail at the High Court.

Arnold Mudekunye represented the State in the proceedings, as the community grapples with the harrowing details of this shocking case. The whereabouts of Trust Mitsi, the alleged co-conspirator, remain unknown, and authorities are intensifying efforts to locate and apprehend him as the investigation continues.- state media

Dzvukamanja Goal Buries Mighty Kaizer Chiefs

A section of angry Kaizer Chiefs fans had to be refrained by police details as they attempted to confront the club’s leadership demanding the sacking of head coach Molefi Ntseki, after the defeat to SuperSport United last night.

Amakhosi fans were hoping the Glamour Boys would return to winning ways after Saturday’s goalless draw with Royal AM, but before some of them had settled in the stands at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, Terrence Dzvukamanja fired SuperSport ahead with just 80 seconds on the clock.

The Zimbabwean striker brilliantly connected to a Bradley Grobbler cross from the left, giving veteran Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune, no chance.

That early goal secured three points for Matsatsantsa, to the ire of a section of Chiefs fans.

Amakhosi football manager Bobby Motaung had to intervene and tried to calm the fans down.

The disgruntled fans could be heard saying “he must go!” referring to Nketsi, who took over from Authur Zwane ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

The former Bafana Bafana coach has managed three wins in the nine matches he had overseen in the Amakhosi dugout.-Soccer24 News

at Mutare Polytechnic Arrested for Alleged Drug Supply Operation.

In a significant development this week, a lecturer employed at Mutare Polytechnic was apprehended in Dangamvura, Mutare, in connection with an alleged drug supply operation. The arrest not only led to the detention of the accused but also the seizure of over 200 bottles of Broncleer syrup with an estimated value of US$1,442.

Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Nobert Muzondo, confirmed the arrest of Nancy Tanyaradzwa Nyanzunda, aged 51, hailing from Gimboki 2, and her alleged accomplice, Prosper Munamwe, residing in the same neighborhood.

According to authorities, the duo stands accused of violating Section 29 of the Medicines and Allied Substances Act, Chapter 15:03.

The sequence of events began on September 18 when the Dangamvura Police Station’s intelligence detectives received a tip-off regarding Munamwe’s alleged sale of illegal syrup from his residence. Simultaneously, reports surfaced indicating that Nyanzunda was the supplier of the contraband Broncleer syrup.

In response to this information, law enforcement officials swiftly conducted a raid at Munamwe’s residence, recovering a quantity of the illicit substances. Subsequently, another search warrant was executed at Nyanzunda’s residence, where additional boxes of Broncleer syrup were uncovered.

Inspector Muzondo provided further details, stating, “On September 18, Nyanzunda and Munamwe were arrested at their respective places of residence for allegedly selling unregistered medicines. The two had over 200 x 100ml bottles of Broncleer syrup.”

Intriguingly, prior to the police searches, Munamwe voluntarily disclosed the presence of 56 x 100ml bottles of Broncleer in his wardrobe. Meanwhile, at Nyanzunda’s residence, a meticulous search yielded three boxes concealed behind her cottage, containing a total of 150 x 100ml bottles of Broncleer.

During subsequent interrogations, Nyanzunda purportedly revealed that she had received the drugs as a parcel from South Africa and had enlisted Munamwe to handle their sale on her behalf.

Both accused individuals were promptly escorted to ZRP Dangamvura Police Station, where a case pertaining to the sale or possession of unregistered medicines was officially lodged.

This arrest and the subsequent recovery of a substantial quantity of Broncleer syrup underscore the concerted efforts of law enforcement agencies in combating the illegal drug trade.
