Chamisa Appeals To SADC To Push For Free Polls

CCC Change Champion in Chief Nelson Chamisa has appealed to the international community, particularly the Southern African Development Community (SADC), to ensure that Zimbabwe’s upcoming elections on 23 August are free and fair.

Chamisa is in South Africa where he held a rally in Johannesburg on Saturday, 24 June, and also called on Zimbabweans in the diaspora to go back home and vote. He said, as quoted by SABC News:

Zimbabweans are peace-loving people they need the support of the entire world. They need the support of the region and the continent.

Fellow Africans support our initiatives. Support our peace effort. Support our call for change and our cause for change.

We don’t want Zimbabwe to continue to be a headache for the region and the continent.

We want Zimbabwe to be a refugee and a safe place for Africa to also come.

Chamisa claimed the opposition won in the 2013 and 2018 general elections and stressed that this year CCC will not allow its “victory” to be stolen. He said:

We win not because the environment is conducive. We win not because the elections are free and fair.

We win against all odds and we win because we are supported by the people of Zimbabwe.

We won in 2018. Mr. Mnangagwa did what he did to try and subvert the will of the people.

This time we are not going to allow what they did in 2018 in 2023. We are going to win again but we have to win by a big margin.

The 45-year-old former ICT Minister dismissed self-exiled former Information Minister Jonathan Moyo’s claims that the opposition in Zimbabwe is weak. Chamisa said:

Facts are on the ground that the opposition is the next government in Zimbabwe.

The facts are on the ground that for all by-elections we won 19 out of 20. In the council elections we had out of 149 we won 89. So where you see tatters.

I think he is mistaking ZANU PF for the alternative. ZANU PF is the opposition because indeed come the 23 of August it is the opposition.

According to results announced by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) for the 2018 presidential race, President Emmerson Mnangagwa polled 50.8% of votes against Chamisa’s 44.3%.

Chamisa rejected the results alleging rigging and challenged them at the Constitutional Court seeking them nullified.

The CounCourt upheld the results and ruled that Chamisa failed to provide evidence that the election was rigged as he had alleged.

In Chapman’s Party, You Can Be Fired For Mentioning CCC And Nelson Chamisa

By A Correspondent| The opposition Democratic Union of Zimbabwe (DUZ) Party, led by Robert Chapman, has expelled two senior members after they wrote a letter advising the new entrant to back Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa.

The axed members are the party provincial secretary for Bulawayo Philani Gama and Lloyd Masiya from the same province.

The expulsion letter signed by DUZ secretary-general Pishai Muchauraya read in part:

“With immediate effect, this note serves to notify you of your expulsion from the Democratic Union of Zimbabwe for acts of gross misconduct and behaviour inconsistent with the values of the party and its code of conduct.”

A Party insider said the duo was expelled after urging Chapman to back CCC leader Nelson Chamisa’s presidential candidature.

Chapman withdrew from the presidential race despite his nomination papers having been approved by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) on 21 June.

He cited financial constraints, limited time until the voting day to address challenges around the voters’ roll, and extreme political polarisation as some of his reasons for withdrawing.

ZEC Still Clinging On To The Voters Roll Despite Earlier Promise

THE Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) is yet to furnish political parties with copies of the voters roll as it is still verifying nomination papers for all candidates.

The nomination courts sat on Wednesday to receive nomination papers for candidates countrywide.

“People were doing the nomination on Wednesday at the districts, we haven’t received the list so that we know those who were successful because we said we are going to give those successful for free,” Zec chief elections officer Utloile Silaigwana said in an interview.
Zec chief elections officer Utloile Silaigwana

“We are at the head office, we don’t know those successful in Lupane because we are still receiving papers, we don’t know those successful in Beitbridge because the process is not over, they will receive (the voters roll) after we are through with the process.”

Silaigwana said it was still early for Zec to distribute copies of the voters roll as they were still compiling the list of all successful candidates.

“The process is not over; we are yet to know for the whole country, we are talking of more than 2 000 councillors, more than 300 Members of Parliament, the process ended yesterday, can we have compiled all that and know who they are, so we are waiting for the papers, we told them that we are going to give them.”

He added that they managed to update the voters roll before the nomination court processes.

“The voters roll we used at the nomination courts was the latest. I don’t know whether there is someone who didn’t find their name, we didn’t hear of anyone who could not find their name, there is not even one candidate who said they couldn’t find their name, so do they want us to clean it until its torn?” Silaigwana asked.

“We told them that we are cleaning the voters roll in preparation of the nomination court and we have done that and we didn’t even receive one person who said they couldn’t find their name and could not file the papers at the nomination court because they couldn’t find their name.

“As the presidential campaign for Saviour Kasukuwere gathers steam, I am pleased to announce the appointment of a Technical Committee of experts that will provide the necessary administrative support in the run-up to the General Elections.

“The Team compromises the following patriotic and capable Zimbabweans:

Chief of Staff: Mr. Munyaradzi Bwanya

Linda Masarira Still Fighting For Inclusion On The Presidential Ballot Paper

Opposition Labour, Economists and African Democrats presidential candidate Linda Masarira has taken the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) to court for rejecting her nomination papers on Wednesday after she failed to raise the required US$20 000 fee.

Masarira wanted to pay using real time gross settlement, but the presiding insisted on cash or payment through the ZimSwitch Instant Payment Interchange Technology (Zipit) system.

In her notice of appeal filed at the High Court, Masarira cited an unnamed Zec presiding officer stationed at Mapondera Building in Harare, chief elections officer Utloile Silaigwana, Zec chairperson Priscilla Chigumba, Zec, and all the confirmed presidential candidates as respondents.

“Take notice that the appellant hereby appeals against the decision of the nomination court to reject her nomination as a candidate for election to the office of president,” Masarira’s notice read.

Masarira said some of the candidates were disqualified from lodging their papers on account of difficulties experienced in effecting payments of nomination fees largely due to the current challenges within the banking system.

She said her bank’s Zipit platform permits a limit of Z$2 500 000 per month and her card limit for the day was Z$1 500 000.

Masarira is seeking the court to declare the decision by the presiding officer null and void.

She also wants the court to declare her validly nominated as presidential candidate to enable her to contest in August 23 poll.

Kasukuwere Unfazed By Zanu PF Intimidation Tactics

Exileds independent presidential aspirant Saviour Kasukuwere, has vowed to defy arrest threats and fly back to Harare to launch his election campaign.

Police said Kasukuwere had two pending warrants of arrest for absconding court and not surrendering his passport.

Justice ministry secretary Virginia Mabhiza told the State media on Saturday that Kasukuwere was expected to come home and face justice after he fled to neighbouring South Africa.

They claim the former Zanu-PF political commissar and Cabinet minister absconded court and failed to surrender his passport when ordered to do so by the courts in 2019.

Kasukuwere is one of the 11 candidates vying for the presidency in the August 23 poll.

Exiled former minister Walter Mzembi, who is chairperson of Kasukuwere’s campaign team, on Saturday accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration of “weaponising” the law against rivals.

Mzembi said Kasukuwere was unmoved and determined to launch his campaign on a soon-to-be announced date in the capital.

“No amount of intimidation and weaponisation ofthe law will intimidate Kasukuwere. He is going to be in Harare,” Mzembi said while addressing the media in South Africa on Saturday.

He said the only legal matter involving Kasukuwere was quashed by the country’s High Court.

There are fears in Zanu-PF that Kasukuwere may split the ruling party’s votes to the advantage of the opposition.

Kasukuwere told SABC News last week that he would soon fly to Zimbabwe and traverse the country canvassing for votes.

Kasukuwere said he was organising “500 buses or so” to transport Zimbabweans domiciled in neighbouring countries home to vote on August 23.

Meanwhile, the late President Robert Mugabe’s eldest son Robert (Junior) was among dignitaries at the Zanu-PF campaign launch in Chipinge on Saturday. This is not the firsttime Mugabe’s son has been to Zanu-PF events since the death of his father who vowed that he would not back people who “tormented” and elbowed him out of power in 2017.

Two Women Go For Hangman’s Job

By-Two females have tendered their applications for the hangman post as the position became vacant for a long time. This is despite the Government’s considering abolishing the death penalty.

However, the recruitment process has been shelved.
The Government — through the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs — has completed nationwide consultations with the public and various stakeholders on a proposed move to abolish the death penalty.
Consultations were carried out in at least three districts of each province, by teams drawn from the ministry.
Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary Mrs Virginia Mabiza confirmed the development to The Sunday Mail.
She said they are now awaiting funds from Treasury to refine the exercise, before making recommendations to Cabinet.
“I am told that consultations were done in all provinces, but they managed to carry them out in three districts per province.
“They then intend to go back to Government with their findings,” she said.
“We are going to make a summary and recommendations to
Cabinet.”
Mrs Mabiza added that once Cabinet gives the nod to the abolition of the death penalty, they will then undertake another process of amending the Constitution and statutes that govern the capital punishment provisions.
“We will be guided by Cabinet,” she said.
Mrs Mabiza said upon provision of funds by the Treasury, the ministry will need another three months to complete the process.
“Once Treasury provides the funds, we will start the process by July and expect to complete it by, say, September. By year-end, all will be done,” she said.
The consultative process prompted the Government to shelve the recruitment of a hangman.
President Mnangagwa has been on the forefront in calling for the abolition of the death sentence.
Section 48 of the Constitution allows execution of convicts aged between 21 and 70.
Women are spared from the death penalty.

“Zanu PF Members Will Not Vote For Mnangagwa”

By A Correspondent| Controversial socialite Acie Lumumba has claimed that Zanu PF members will not vote for Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Appearing on South African television channel, SABC, Lumumba real name Gerald Mutumanje said Mnangagwa will not win the August 23 elections as he is not popular even within his Zanu PF party.

“You think any Zanu PF members will vote for Emmerson Mnangagwa? In Zanu PF, you have the main wing, the women wing and the youth wing. The young people are not voting for Emmerson Mnangagwa, I would like to see who is voting, the women are not voting for Emmerson Mnangagwa I cannot articulate the reason, the main wing is not voting for Emmerson Mnangagwa, they are alienated, everybody in Zanu PF is looking for a fresh start, I am looking for a fresh start, let me explain what a fresh start is, the fresh start is an opportunity to re-set…” said Lumumba.

He also said former Zanu PF commissar was forced out of the party but remains very popular with the membership.

Kasukuwere has successfully filed his nomination papers and will be part of the 11 presidential candidates vying to occupy the top job come 23 August 2023.

He has hinted that he will soon return to Zimbabwe to campaign on the ground but the state owned Herald reported that two warrants of arrest awaits him.

ANC Goes To War Against Nelson Chamisa

By Wilbert Mukori | Long before war is declared and the first guns are fired, the body bags of the first casualties—the truth, always the truth—start to mount. South Africa’s ANC government is fighting for its political survival, and the truth is its first sacrificial lamb.

Successive ANC governments have ruled the country for the last 29 years and have screwed up big time. SA is now well on its way to becoming yet another failed African state; some people say it is a failed state already.

South Africa’s economic meltdown is caused by gross mismanagement, on the one hand. The ANC government went for the vote-winning strategy of connecting more and more electricity consumers to the grid and neglected the less noticeable part of investing in the generation and transmission plants, for example. The chickens have finally come home to roost, and the country is enduring wide-ranging electricity power cuts, emphatically euphemistically called loadshedding. The power shortage is so bad that even the country’s wealth-generating mines, industries, and essential services like hospitals were switched off too!

The major cause of South Africa’s economic meltdown is undoubtedly corruption. Everyone knows of the well-documented “State Capture” by the Gupta Brothers with the connivance of former ANC President Jacob Zuma. A recent “Gold Mafia” Al Jazeera documentary revealed that Zimbabwe was losing a staggering US$1.6 billion per year to gold smugglers. Many South African citizens and institutions were named in the gold smuggling and/or money laundering cases.

The ANC government has promised to end load-shedding and stamp out corruption. Easier said than done!

South Africans are going to the polls next year, and given the country’s history of holding free, fair, and credible elections (Nelson Mandela’s legacy), the ANC government is worried that the people will give the party the boot.

President Cyril Ramaphosa and his ANC friends are particularly worried should the ongoing 2023 Zimbabwe elections result in the Zanu PF regime being booted out of office. Zanu PF’s 43 years in power has been disastrous for Zimbabwe, so much so the country is a failed state – an undisputed a historic fact. The very fact that Zimbabweans have finally successfully booted out Zanu PF will galvanise South Africans to want to do the same.

If Zimbabwe was to notch up some significant economic recovery after booting out the corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF regime, this will turn the wave of ANC must go into an unstoppable tsunami! A modest economic recovery is certainly possible given the seriousness of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown today, which is not a far cry from that in 2008. The Zimbabwe economy recovered to register a 12% growth rate in 2009 compared to a negative 6% in 2008 following the formation of the 2008–2013 GNU.

The ANC government is engaged in a pre-emptive rearguard fight to stop regime change in Zimbabwe at all costs!

In November last year, the ANC resolved that the party would not allow the West to achieve regime change in Zimbabwe through its imposition of economic sanctions. And ever since, the party, particularly Secretary General Filike Mbalula has returned to this theme with passion boarding on hysteria.

“Americans want regime change. Even here in Zimbabwe, Mbeki stood firm. They wanted Mugabe to change over night, and then they attacked us on quite a scale. The Americans can move in the afternoon, and by dinner time, Mugabe would be finished.” SG Mbalula told the ANC Western Cape 9th Provincial Conference on Friday, June 23, 2023.

“We do not subscribe to the regime change policy. That government must be changed willy-nilly through undemocratic means, through military power. We opposed the sanction and said these sanctions against Zimbabwe will be detrimental to the economic growth of that country.”

Zanu PF has never held free, fair, and credible elections since the country’s independence in 1980, and ANC leaders know that. In the watershed 2008 elections, Zanu PF’s blatant cheating and wanton violence were so outrageous that even the AU and SADC, which had turned a blind eye to Zanu PF vote rigging, could not do so then. It was none other than SADC leaders themselves who forced Zanu PF to agree to the need for the country to implement democratic reforms to ensure free and fair elections.

It is a great tragedy that the 2008–2013 GNU, whose primary task was to implement democratic reforms, failed to implement even one token reform. And so the Zanu PF regime emerges out of the GNU with all its dictatorial powers intact, including the power to rig elections. Zanu PF rigged the 2013 and 2018 elections and, in a similar fashion, is rigging these 2023 elections.

It is nonsensical that SG Mbalula should object to undemocratic regime change as a matter of principle when he knows the regime the ANC is protecting rigged the elections and therefore, per se, is politically illegitimate in the first place.

Zimbabwe was already in serious economic trouble, as evidenced by the country adopting the two five-year Economic Structural Adjustment Programmes (ESAP), 1990–94 and 1995–99, meant to revive the flagging economy. The much-hoped-for revival never happened. In 1999, the WB, IMF, and most Western country-related financial institutions stopped giving Zimbabwe any financial assistance because the country was failing to service its debts, much less repay them. This all happened well before the sanctions that were imposed in 2001.

The root causes of Zimbabwe’s economic ruin are gross mismanagement, rampant corruption, and brazen lawlessness, such as the seizure of white-owned farms to give to party loyalists. Zanu PF has enjoyed absolute power for the last 43 years because the party rigs elections, giving these problems time to spread and grow.

Zimbabwe is a failed state for the same reasons SA has been marching relentlessly towards the same goal: mismanagement, corruption, and lawlessness. Zimbabwe had a 14-year head start and no restraint forces thanks to the dictatorial powers ability to rig elections and claim absolute power.

The sanctions’ contribution to Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is very small. Zanu PF propaganda has made sanctions a mountain out of a molehill.

What Zimbabwe needs to get out of this economic and political mess is implement the democratic reforms and thus cure the nation of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

The sanctions’ contribution to Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is very small. Zanu PF propaganda has made sanctions a mountain out of a molehill. It is totally unacceptable that this ANC government should seek to impose this failed Zanu PF dictatorship on Zimbabwe under the pretext of fighting the Americans’ sanction-initiated regime change agenda.

“Mnangagwa conducted a coup d’etat and removed Mugabe. He implemented some reforms. And they will still not be satisfied until they get their puppet into power; they will never be satisfied. They want Chamisa, or is it Chancer?” ranted ANC SG Mbalula.

The military coup was just a musical chairs game; no one expected it to produce any meaningful economic changes, much less grand political changes such as free and fair elections. No one, that is, except SG Mbalula.

This ANC regime is hell-bent on keeping this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship in power against the democratic wishes of the people of Zimbabwe.

The tragic reality for Zimbabwe is that both Zanu PF and the CCC do not care about democracy, free and fair elections, or good governance. All they care about is power, and they will use all means, democratic or otherwise, to secure it. Zanu PF will never implement the reforms to ensure free and fair elections; the party knows its 43 years in power were only possible because it rigged elections. Zanu-PF will never reform itself out of power.

Nelson Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends wasted the golden opportunity to implement reforms during the 2008–2013 GNU because they were corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. They have since given up all hope of implementing reforms and settled for a share of the spoils of power because they are still corrupt and breathtakingly competent.

“If the elections are so flawed and illegal, then why are Zimbabwe’s opposition leaders participating in these elections in droves?” Mnangagwa has often argued Of course, he has a point. Meanwhile, he has increased the benefits of winning the few gravy train seats on offer to entice the opposition to participate in these flawed elections.

Since 2013, SADC leaders too have used the opposition’s greed as an excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy. And the ANC will be banking on the same excuse to get the regional body to once again grant Zanu PF legitimacy and thus unwittingly deliver the ANC’s objective of no regime change in Zimbabwe.

The real big losers here are the ordinary Zimbabweans, who have paid dearly all these years for the reality of Zimbabwe as a failed state. Another five more years of this chaos, economic meltdown, and hopelessness are unthinkable. But with Zanu PF, the CCC, and now the ANC working to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship, it is fait accompli!

SA is the regional superpower, but still, that does not give the ANC the right to usurp the people of Zimbabwe’s right to decide who governs Zimbabwe! The last thing we want is another Russia in our neighbourhood!- SOURCE:zimbabwelight.blogspot.com

ANC Denounces Chamisa

By James Gwati-South Africa’s ruling party, the National Congress has defended Zanu PF and denounced the CCC’s Nelson Chamisa.

Fikile Mbalula, the ANC secretary general, said Emmerson Mnangagwa had implemented reforms in the post-Robert Mugabe administration and claimed that the west still wants the opposition to rule to become Zimbabwe.

Addressing the ANC 9th Western Cape Provincial Conference on Saturday, 24 June, Mbalula said:
(President) Mnangagwa brought some reforms in Zimbabwe, but they (the West) did not want those reforms because they want a man called (Nelson) Chamisa.
They want him there to be the leader; the new leader of a new Zimbabwe.
And then we say to the Americans and say to the British, give the Zimbabweans what they deserve, because you agreed in Lancaster that you would give them £40 billion for land reform and redistribution programme.
Meanwhile, Chamisa kicked off his campaign ahead of the August 23 elections by addressing Zimbabweans based in South Africa.

Chamisa Revives Diaspora Campaigns, Pleads For Funding

By- James Gwati- The opposition CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, has revived national and international campaigns, pleading with his party supporters to fund the movement.
Chamisa, this weekend was in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He told his supporters in that country to support the CCC.
He said:
Lets us go back and mobilise, we count on you. We want you to help with resources, one rand or US$1 can make a huge difference.
Zambians did it, Malawians also did it, Kenyans also did it, they did it in DRC…if they are doing it, why can’t we also do it?
In the 2018 elections, Chamisa lost to Mnangagwa by a narrow margin, and he challenged the results in court, alleging rigging.
However, Mnangagwa’s victory was upheld by the Constitutional Court.

Monica Mutsvangwa Tells SABC, ZACC Is “Zimbabwe’s Corruption Company”

Zimbabwe Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa’s Car Accident of Knowledge: Failure to Explain ZACC Acronym

By Farai D Hove | In a recent incident that has left many Zimbabweans baffled, the country’s Information Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, was involved in a car accident of knowledge. This metaphorical collision occurred when Mutsvangwa failed to provide a coherent explanation of the well-known acronym ZACC, which stands for Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission. The incident took place during an interview with SABC’s Sophie Mokoena, where Mutsvangwa’s struggle to articulate a simple phrase raised concerns about her understanding of key government initiatives.

The Incident Unfolded

During the interview, Mutsvangwa was asked about the government’s efforts to combat corruption in Zimbabwe. Rather than providing a concise and informative response, the Information Minister stumbled and fumbled, eventually collapsing metaphorically on her backside at the lip of understanding. Her attempts to explain the meaning of the ZACC acronym showcased a severe lack of basic knowledge.

Confusion and Failed Narration

When confronted with the question about the government’s stance on corruption and the role of ZACC, Mutsvangwa’s response was nothing short of bewildering. She initially stated, “We don’t want corruption either. Corruption actually brings the country’s economy down.” While this statement may seem like a generic response, it failed to address the specific question asked.

As the pressure mounted, Mutsvangwa struggled further, attempting to piece together an explanation for the acronym ZACC. Her stumbling response included phrases such as “Zimbabwe, eeeh, Corruption,” “Corporation,” and “Company,” showing her inability to recall the correct words despite holding a prominent government position.

Mockery and Criticism

This incident comes on the heels of Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri’s recent criticism of Mutsvangwa, accusing her of wasting work time and resources at ZBC (Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation) to promote herself. The mockery directed at Mutsvangwa by her colleague further highlights concerns about her competence and effectiveness as the Information Minister.

Importance of ZACC and Fighting Corruption

The Zimbabwe Anti Corruption Commission (ZACC) plays a crucial role in combating corruption within the country. It is responsible for investigating and prosecuting cases related to corruption, aiming to restore public trust, promote accountability, and safeguard the economy. The failure of the Information Minister to explain the acronym undermines the government’s credibility in its fight against corruption.

Monica Mutsvangwa’s inability to provide a basic explanation of the widely recognized acronym ZACC has raised serious concerns about her knowledge and competence as the Information Minister of Zimbabwe. Her confusing and disjointed response during the interview has drawn criticism and mockery, reflecting poorly on the government’s commitment to combating corruption.

Importance Of Donating Blood

The slogan for 2023 World Blood Donor Day campaign, celebrated on 14 June 2023, is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play, by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of giving blood or plasma regularly to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products that can be always available, all over the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.

The objectives are to:

celebrate and thank individuals who donate blood and encourage more people to become new donors;
encourage people in good health to donate blood regularly, as often as is safe and possible, to transform the quality of life for transfusion dependent patients and help to build a secure blood supply in all countries in the world;
highlight the critical roles of voluntary non-remunerated regular blood and plasma donations in achieving universal access to safe blood products for all populations; and
mobilize support at national, regional and global levels among governments and development partners to invest in, strengthen and sustain national blood programmes.

Safety Tips For Miners

First aid should can be offered by anyone but ideally trained personnel to give first aid should offer first aid.

When offering first aid always consider your personal safety first.

Look out for any dangers and only act when you are confident it is safe to do so.

An unresponsive person is someone not moving or responding when you call them or when gently shaken.

Respiratory emergencies & CPR

Check if breathing by tilting their head back and looking and feeling for breaths.
When a person is unresponsive, their muscles relax and their tongue can block their airway so they can no longer breathe. Tilting their head back opens the airway by pulling the tongue forward. If they are breathing, you will see their chest moving and you may hear their breath or feel it on your cheek. If breathing, move on to step two.

Move them onto their side and tilt their head back. Putting them in this position with their head back helps keep their airway open. It ensures their tongue falls forward and blood and vomit drain out. It is sometimes called the “recovery position”.
Call for help or an ambulance as soon as possible.
If the patient needs CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), place the person on their back on a firm, flat surface and start giving chest compressions aiming for 30compressions in 1minute.
How to do CPR
Hand position: Two hands centered on the chest
Body position: Shoulders directly over hands; elbows locked
Depth: At least 5cm
Allow chest to return to normal position after every chest compression.
5 Give 2 rescue breaths (if equipment to do that available). Ensure each breath lasts about 1 second and makes the chest rise; allow air to exit before giving the next breath.

Gas leak, Fire & Burns

Turn off gas if safe to do
Evacuate the area immediately
Do not switch any lights or start an open flame
If there is fire use a fire extinguisher to stop the fire from spreading and ring the fire alarm alerting everyone to evacuate the building.
If someone is on fire remove the person from the source of fire, drop and roll him or her over or cover him or her with a fire blanket.
Cool burn under running water
Protect the burn with sterile, non-adhesive bandage (DO NOT APPLY BUTTER OR OINTMENTS)
Do not break blisters
Call for an ambulance and send to hospital
Chemical spill.

Remove spoiled clothing
If skin or eyes affected rinse immediately with clean running water
If ingested do not induce vomiting and do not give water or mi unless told to d so by a health professional.
If inhaled move the person to fresh air and give oxygen if available.
After first aid is given send to hospital as soon as possible.

Mavaza: The Progressive Gains of Voting for ZANU PF and ED in 2023

By Dr Masimba Mavaza | As Zimbabwe approaches a crucial election, it is important to consider the benefits of continuity in governance and the potential gains of voting for ZANU PF and President Emmerson Mnangagwa (ED). This article aims to highlight the progressive achievements of the current government and emphasize the need for stability and continuity to drive Zimbabwe’s development agenda.

Continuity for Development

Zimbabwe is on the path to becoming a middle-income economy by 2030, and it is essential to maintain the momentum achieved thus far. Change for the sake of change should be avoided, as it can disrupt ongoing development initiatives. The economic challenges faced by the country are temporary, and there is no overnight solution. Claims of instant transformation by other parties are unrealistic and lack substance.

The Role of ED’s Government

President Mnangagwa has exhibited great statesmanship and shown dedication to the development of Zimbabwe. His government has engaged with various stakeholders, demonstrating a commitment to inclusivity. The achievements and developmental projects initiated by the current administration are evident and deserve recognition.

The Danger of Disruptive Alternatives

The opposition party, particularly the Chamisa-led Movement for Democratic Change Alliance (MDC-A), presents an alternative that may bring disruption rather than progress. The inclusion of figures like Tyson Kasukuwere raises concerns about the party’s intentions and hidden agendas. Zimbabweans must critically assess the viability and credibility of the proposed alternatives.

Accountability and Anti-Corruption Efforts

President Mnangagwa’s administration has shown a commitment to fighting corruption. On the other hand, the opposition party includes individuals like Tyson Kasukuwere, who has been unable to account for his wealth. Zimbabweans must question the credibility of an alternative that claims to address corruption while aligning with individuals facing serious allegations themselves.

The Importance of Project Continuity

Continuity in governance is essential to maintain focus on ongoing development projects. Projects such as the Harare-Beitbridge, Harare-Bulawayo, and Harare-Mutare motorways are nearing completion and require consistent support to ensure their successful implementation. Continuity provides the opportunity to avoid neglect, abandonment, and waste of resources invested in these projects.

Promoting Efficiency and Good Governance

Continuity in government promotes efficiency and good governance. It allows for long-term planning and execution of development programs, eliminating unnecessary disruptions. Stability in governance also enables governments to address social, economic, and cultural development effectively.

The Role of Citizens

As patriots, Zimbabweans must mobilize and educate fellow citizens about the importance of stability and continuity in governance. Voting for President Mnangagwa on August 23rd, 2023, is a step toward creating an enabling environment for continued progress. Citizens should actively support leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to development and good governance.

Continuity in governance is vital for Zimbabwe’s progress and prosperity. The achievements of President Mnangagwa’s government are evident, and the ongoing development projects require uninterrupted support. Stability and continuity provide a solid foundation for further growth and positive change. Zimbabweans must make an informed decision and consider the progressive gains of voting for ZANU PF and ED in the upcoming election.

Zimbabweans in England and Their Views on Nationality

By Dr Masimba Mavaza, and Lean Chachoka | The question of “where are you from from?” often sparks various emotions and reactions, especially among individuals from ethnic minorities. For some, it may be a harmless inquiry to foster conversation, while for others, it can be a reminder of their perpetual foreignness in their adopted country. This article aims to analyze the sentiments of Zimbabweans living in England who feel ashamed of their association with Zimbabwe, exploring the reasons behind their ambivalence and the importance of national pride.

Mixed Reactions to the Question

When asked “where are you from from?” different individuals respond with a range of emotions. Some feel comfortable and proud to share their heritage, embracing the opportunity to discuss their culture and upbringing. Others may perceive it as an invasion of their privacy, particularly when the question is posed by strangers. The response is often influenced by the relationship with the person asking the question.

The Perspective of Children

Children, in their innocent and uncomplicated outlook, offer valuable insights into this matter. Their responses reflect the context of the questioner and their intent. A friend’s inquiry is seen as genuine curiosity and an opportunity to strengthen bonds, while strangers seeking personal information may raise concerns. Parents often teach their children not to share their background with strangers, highlighting the sensitivity associated with the question.

Personal Experiences and Reactions

Individual experiences regarding the question of origin differ, and reactions may vary. While some individuals choose not to take offense, acknowledging the normalcy of feeling different emotions, others feel angered by the assumption that their birthplace defines their identity. Many Zimbabweans who have recently migrated to the UK are often surprised by the perspectives of those who have been there for an extended period.

Challenging Stereotypes

One incident involving a Zimbabwean man being mocked for his country of origin exemplifies the outdated stereotypes some people still associate with Zimbabwe. The incident, though amusing to some, offended others who recognized the woman’s ignorance and detachment from the reality of modern Zimbabwe. Zimbabweans, like people from any other country, exhibit diverse characteristics and behaviors that defy generalizations.

The Negative Perception of Zimbabweans

A subset of Zimbabweans residing in the UK attempts to distance themselves from their national identity, often conveying a lack of faith in their homeland. This mindset can lead to an inclination to criticize Zimbabwe and seek validation from foreign cultures. Such individuals may hide their nationality or even spread negative narratives about their country to gain sympathy or secure visas, perpetuating an unfavorable image of Zimbabwe.

Promoting National Pride and Patriotism

Despite the prevalent skepticism, there is a need for Zimbabweans living abroad to be proud of their heritage and represent their country positively. Zimbabweans should embody the role of cultural ambassadors, highlighting the richness of their traditions and the positive aspects of their nation. By embracing national pride, individuals can challenge stereotypes and foster a sense of belonging.

The Importance of Attachment to One’s Country

A strong sense of attachment and commitment to one’s country is crucial. While individuals may adopt new homes and cultures, they should not forget their roots. National pride should extend beyond personal interests, focusing on the collective well-being and reputation of the country. Respecting the traditions and values of one’s homeland while appreciating the adopted country’s values is a balancing act that can contribute to a sense of belonging.

The question of “where are you from from?” holds different connotations for individuals, particularly Zimbabweans living in England. While some embrace their heritage with pride, others may feel uncomfortable or even ashamed of their association with Zimbabwe. The negative perception of their homeland and a lack of patriotism contribute to this ambivalence. However, it is crucial for Zimbabweans to challenge stereotypes, promote national pride, and represent their country positively. By doing so, they can foster a sense of belonging and ensure a more inclusive and respectful society.

DeMbare Shift Base To Barbourfields Stadium

During the ‘It’s time to make Zimbabwean Football exciting again’ indaba held in Harare last week, a Dynamos official confidently told Stan Matthews that the Harare giants are supported by nearly half of Zimbabwe’s population.

“I don’t know presently, but when the last (population) census was held, we had seven million fans,” the official told the Supersport United Chief Executive Officer.

Whether Dynamos supporters throughout the country and outside can even surpass 1 million is something that is very difficult to believe but what is not up for debate is the fact DeMbare is one of, if not the most supported team in the country.

Now that it’s no longer a secret that Dynamos will be temporarily using Babourfields as their temporary home venue when the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League resumes next week, the move has generated a lot of debate among football stakeholders.

“This is like using your ex girlfriend’s place as a base,” argued one Tapiwa Munjoma, on microblogging site Twitter, in reaction to the news.

The Dynamos executive however believes the move is a no-brainer.

“If you look at how Kaizer Chiefs operate in South Africa, they can host a home match in any city in, because they have fans everywhere, and the same applies with us,” a well-placed source in the Moses Maunganidze-led executive told Soccer24 yesterday.

“We also command a huge following in Bulawayo so why not? We will use Babourfields until Rufaro is ready,” added the source

Dynamos fans always show up at Babourfields, especially when they collide with old foes Highlanders.

They also showed up in their numbers at Emagumeni when they demolished Chicken Inn 3-0 last season and burst into song on ‘enemy territory’ after the final whistle.-Soccer24 News

ZANU PF Ditches Hwenje For Mambo Dhuterere

ZANU PF Snubs Praise Singer Chief Shumba Hwenje for Mambo Dhuterere in Election Campaign.

By Dorrorthy Moyo | In a surprising turn of events, Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU PF, has made a notable change in their election campaign strategy. The party, which had previously relied on the popular praise singer Chief Shumba Hwenje and his anthem “ED Pfee” during the 2018 elections, has now decided to replace him with gospel singer Mambo Dhuterere. This decision has caused a stir within political circles and the music industry, raising questions about the motivations behind the switch.

The Unexpected Change

Chief Shumba Hwenje, renowned for his song “ED Pfee,” which had become an anthem at ZANU PF rallies, was fully prepared to entertain and praise President Emmerson Mnangagwa during the upcoming campaign. However, to Hwenje’s surprise, Mambo Dhuterere was chosen as the official campaign praise singer. Reports suggest that Mambo Dhuterere’s upcoming album, with songs specifically praising Mnangagwa, will now be the focus of ZANU PF’s campaign efforts.

Mambo Dhuterere’s Album and Songs

Mambo Dhuterere’s album, titled “Special Branch,” features 10 tracks that are believed to have been tailored to serve as the official ZANU PF campaign album. The songs include “ED Chete,” “More Fire,” “Huchi,” “Saka Uchaita Sei,” “State House,” “Shumba Ngavapinde,” “Ndomuvhotera Chete,” “Chakabatwa Kuti Dzvii,” “Mai Wellie,” and “Mpela Mpela.” These tracks aim to amplify support for the ruling party and its leader ahead of the general elections.

The Impact on Chief Shumba Hwenje

Chief Shumba Hwenje, a tried and tested musician who had established a strong following within ZANU PF, expressed disappointment at being replaced. Having made all the necessary preparations for the campaign, Hwenje was ready to entertain party supporters and praise Mnangagwa. However, the decision to select Mambo Dhuterere left him surprised and sidelined.

Renewed Criticism of Musicians in Politics

The involvement of musicians in politics has often faced criticism, with accusations of opportunism and insincerity. Pride Mkono, a political analyst and activist, strongly criticized musicians who engage in politics for personal gain. Mkono stated that many of these individuals are simply political activists hiding behind their art, attempting to reinvent themselves and join the ranks of the ruling elites. The sentiment suggests that their motivations may be driven by personal interests rather than a genuine desire for change or service to the people.

Sandra Ndebele’s Involvement

Sandra Ndebele, a musician-cum-politician who features in one of Mambo Dhuterere’s songs, has also attracted attention for her move into active party politics. Ndebele, known for her involvement in ZANU PF-organized musical events, is running for a municipal seat in Bulawayo under the party’s ticket. Critics argue that her decision to enter politics is influenced by financial considerations, as many have witnessed others profiting from their association with ZANU PF.

ZANU PF’s decision to replace Chief Shumba Hwenje, known for his previous support and anthem for the party, with gospel singer Mambo Dhuterere has sparked controversy and raised questions about the role of musicians in politics. While Hwenje had prepared to play a significant role in the upcoming campaign, the unexpected change has left him disappointed. The involvement of musicians in politics, especially during election.

Mnangagwa Vows To Retain Power

Emmerson Mnangagwa, made a bold declaration yesterday as he officially launched the campaign for his ruling party, Zanu PF, ahead of the upcoming August 23 elections. Speaking to thousands of enthusiastic Zanu PF supporters at Mutema Secondary School in the Musikavanhu constituency of Chipinge, Mnangagwa vowed that his party would do whatever it takes to retain power.

In his address, Mnangagwa emphasized the party’s role in fighting for democracy and stated that no one would be able to hinder their efforts to remain in power. He confidently proclaimed, “The country will remain in our hands. We fought for our democracy, no one will stop us. We will do what we can to remain in power. Zanu PF is unstoppable; Zanu PF will continue to rule.”

The event was attended by Mnangagwa’s deputies, Constantino Chiwenga, who also serves as the country’s vice president and Health minister, and Kembo Mohadi. Notably, the ruling party officials refrained from mentioning Saviour Kasukuwere, a former minister and party member who is now contesting the polls as an independent candidate. There are concerns within Zanu PF that Kasukuwere may eat into their votes.

Highlighting the party’s historical significance, Mnangagwa praised Zanu PF’s contributions to the country and emphasized its unwavering commitment.

He stated, “Zanu PF shed blood for this country, and no other party fought for this country. Zanu PF is a colossal party.” However, he also called for peace before, during, and after the elections, urging unity and harmony among the citizens. Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of national identity, stating, “We may come from different communities, but we are one country, and we should not work as individuals.”

In a move aimed at garnering support, Mnangagwa announced a plan to provide solar-powered boreholes for traditional leaders. Recognizing their role in society, he emphasized the need to respect and support these leaders. Mnangagwa stated, “Let’s respect our traditional leaders. Each of the traditional leaders will get a solar-driven borehole. We have 35,000 village heads, and that is the program we started two to three years ago.”

Observers view Mnangagwa’s actions and statements as part of a broader campaign strategy in preparation for the 2023 elections. The president is expected to face a tough challenge from Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change, as well as nine other candidates in the presidential race.

As the campaign season unfolds, the political landscape in Zimbabwe is likely to become more dynamic and competitive. The promises made by Mnangagwa and other candidates will be closely scrutinized by the electorate. It remains to be seen how the country will respond to the rallying cry of Zanu PF and whether their campaign strategy will be successful in securing another term in power.

Can Mnangagwa Feed Entire Nation?

THE ZANU PF Election Manifesto has been launched by the President and First Secretary of the party Cde E.D Mnangagwa at Mutema Primary School in chipinge with a call for a peaceful polls.

“I call for peace ,unity and harmony. We must preserve peace as a people despite the different backgrounds we are drawn from. We must therefore individually and collectively wish for a better Zimbabwe, this will drive us to contribute towards the development of this country. The sanctions on Zimbabwe must not stop us from developing our country. Sanctions aim to drive Zimbabweans to overthrow their own and embrace western puppet leadership. I am proud you have remained patriotic and support your own,” said the President.

He also highlighted that Zimbabwe will remain in the hands of the ZANU PF party which is a people-oriented party dedicated to foster socio and economic development.

President Mnangagwa said other political parties in the country will never serve the interest of people, but will sell out the gains of the liberation struggle.

He reiterated that Zimbabweans will remain Zimbabweans, no matter what, adding that individually or collectively, Zimbabweans must work hard for development to take place.

The President also noted that Zimbabwe is endowed with abundant natural resources and will never be a poor nation.

On food security the President attributed Zimbabwe’s food security to the pfumvudza concept adopted by the Second Republic.

He said in order to increase food security the government is building dams in all the country’ provinces, adding that this will serve as water sources for horticultural gardens for rural women.

On power, the President said the government has since engaged its Chinese friends to add more power on the country’s national grid, hence loadshedding is now a thing of the past.- Source : State media

My Husband Beds Tenants

Exposed in Court: Man’s Extra-Marital Affairs with Tenants Revealed

By Dorrothy Moyo | In a recent court case that unfolded, a Harare man, Itirayi Mapinga, faced shocking allegations from his wife, Yvonne Chita. Alongside accusations of domestic violence, Chita exposed her husband’s alleged extra-marital affairs with their tenants. The court proceedings shed light on a troubling situation that involved betrayal, financial impropriety, and community gossip.

Accusations of Infidelity

During the court hearing, Yvonne Chita boldly claimed that her husband, Itirayi Mapinga, was involved in extra-marital affairs with their tenants. She expressed her distress at receiving insufficient financial support from Mapinga, suggesting that he was spending a significant portion of his income on his alleged girlfriends.

Chita’s testimony unveiled a distressing scenario where Mapinga’s supposed girlfriends, who happened to be their tenants, would flaunt their relationships, even going so far as to spread rumors about Chita’s naivety within the community. These revelations not only damaged Chita’s emotional well-being but also tarnished her reputation.

The Denial and Defense

In response to his wife’s accusations, Itirayi Mapinga vehemently denied any involvement in extra-marital affairs with their tenants. He portrayed his assault of Chita as a consequence of her supposed disrespect towards him.

Mapinga argued that he had given Chita a substantial amount of money, specifically US$400, for their child’s school fees. However, he claimed that he discovered Chita had only paid half of the amount, leading to a confrontation between them. Mapinga’s denial of any involvement with their tenants added another layer of complexity to the court proceedings.

The Implications

The court case surrounding Itirayi Mapinga and Yvonne Chita highlights several important issues. Firstly, it reveals the devastating impact of infidelity within a marriage. The emotional toll and loss of trust experienced by the betrayed partner can be severe and often extend beyond the confines of the relationship.

Secondly, the allegations of financial impropriety and inadequate support expose the vulnerability of individuals who rely on their partners for financial stability. Chita’s claim that Mapinga neglected his responsibilities by diverting funds to his alleged girlfriends underscores the importance of financial transparency and fair distribution of resources within a marriage.

Furthermore, the court case sheds light on the power dynamics present in abusive relationships. Mapinga’s justification for assaulting his wife based on perceived disrespect reflects a troubling pattern of controlling behavior. It serves as a reminder that domestic violence is an issue that demands attention and intervention.

The court case involving Itirayi Mapinga and Yvonne Chita provided a distressing glimpse into a troubled marriage, exposing allegations of extra-marital affairs with tenants alongside claims of domestic violence. While Mapinga denied these accusations, the testimony revealed the emotional and reputational damage caused to Chita.

This case serves as a reminder of the devastating consequences of infidelity, the importance of financial transparency, and the urgent need to address domestic violence. It also emphasizes the significance of trust, respect, and open communication within marital relationships.

Chamisa Pleads For Diaspora Funding

By- James Gwati- The opposition CCC leader, Nelson Chamisa, has embarked on national and international campaigns, pleading with his party supporters to fund the movement.

ANC Defends Zanu PF, Denounces Chamisa

Addressing a campaign rally in Johannesburg on Saturday, Chamisa pleaded with Zimbabweans in that country to support the CCC. He said:
Lets us go back and mobilise, we count on you. We want you to help with resources, one rand or US$1 can make a huge difference.
Zambians did it, Malawians also did it, Kenyans also did it, they did it in DRC…if they are doing it, why can’t we also do it?
In the 2018 elections, Chamisa lost to Mnangagwa by a narrow margin and he challenged the results in court alleging rigging.
However, Mnangagwa’s victory was upheld by the Constitutional Court.

DeMbare Move To Barbourfields Stadium

Mnangagwa Is The World’s First Prigozhin

By – The recent discussions surrounding Yevgeny Prigozhin’s actions in Moscow and Emmerson Mnangagwa’s political maneuvers in Zimbabwe have sparked significant interest and debate among analysts. While the situations in both countries are distinct, there are intriguing parallels that can be drawn, shedding light on strategic planning, military capabilities, and political motives.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Army, orchestrated a surprising assault on Moscow, showcasing a level of strategic sophistication that has drawn the attention of political analysts. Notably, renowned US Political Analyst Michael McFaul has suggested that Prigozhin’s operation appeared to be meticulously planned, surpassing the level of planning seen in Putin’s assault on Kyiv. McFaul’s analysis indicates that Prigozhin’s forces exhibited impressive coordination and effectiveness during their incursion into Moscow.

Comparatively, the defense of Moscow by the Russian armed forces was perceived as less heroic and effective than the Ukrainian forces defending Kyiv. This observation raises questions about the military capabilities and performance of the two countries’ armed forces in their respective conflicts. However, it is important to note that these assessments are preliminary, based on limited information, and require further analysis to fully comprehend the dynamics at play.

In Zimbabwe, analysts have drawn parallels between Prigozhin’s actions and the political maneuvering of Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2017. Mnangagwa, who is now the President of Zimbabwe, is believed to have weakened his predecessor, Robert Mugabe, before eventually assuming leadership. The comparison between Prigozhin and Mnangagwa highlights the potential political implications of Prigozhin’s maneuvers and suggests that he may be leveraging his actions to gain influence or assert his position within the Russian power structure.

According to analyst Howard Nyoni, Prigozhin’s temporary retreat to Belarus following a dramatic 24-hour threat against Putin mirrors Mnangagwa’s strategy in 2017. Nyoni implies that Prigozhin’s actions may have weakened Russian President Putin, similar to how Mnangagwa weakened Mugabe before ultimately taking power. This parallel raises questions about the motives behind Prigozhin’s assault on Moscow and his long-term goals. It is crucial to exercise caution and approach these developments with an open mind, as the true intentions of Prigozhin are still speculative, and further analysis is necessary to unravel the intricate dynamics within the Russian political landscape.

As events continue to unfold in both Moscow and Zimbabwe, it is important to gather more information and insights from experts to fully comprehend the implications of these developments. The limited information available requires a cautious approach when drawing conclusions. A comprehensive understanding of the evolving situations in Russia and Zimbabwe will be essential in assessing the strategic maneuvering, military capabilities, and political motivations at play.

Prigozhin, Putin And Mnangagwa

Prigozhin’s Strategic Maneuvering: Analyzing the Developments in Moscow and Zimbabwe

“Prigozhin’s assault on Moscow seemed much better planned than Putin’s assault on Kyiv.”

By A Correspondent | Recent events in Russia and Zimbabwe have sparked intense debates among political analysts regarding the strategic planning and military prowess demonstrated by the Wagner Army leader, Yevgeny Prigozhin. According to renowned US Political Analyst Michael McFaul, Prigozhin’s assault on Moscow appeared to be better planned than Putin’s assault on Kyiv. Meanwhile, in Zimbabwe, analysts draw parallels between Prigozhin’s actions and the political tactics employed by Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2017. This article aims to examine these perspectives and shed light on the evolving situations in both countries.

Prigozhin’s Assault on Moscow

In a surprising turn of events, the Wagner Army, led by Yevgeny Prigozhin, launched an assault on the capital city of Russia, Moscow. Political analyst Michael McFaul has observed that Prigozhin’s operation seemed to be meticulously planned, with a level of strategic sophistication surpassing that of Putin’s assault on Kyiv. Prigozhin’s forces allegedly demonstrated impressive coordination and effectiveness during their incursion into Moscow, according to McFaul’s analysis.

“Prigozhin’s assault on Moscow seemed much better planned than Putin’s assault on Kyiv.

“Ukrainian warriors defending Kyiv performed much more heroically & effectively than Russian armed forces defending Moscow,” said Michael McFaul.

Comparatively, the Russian armed forces defending Moscow were perceived as less heroic and effective than their Ukrainian counterparts defending Kyiv. This observation, made by McFaul, suggests a disparity in the military capabilities and performance between the two countries’ forces during the respective conflicts. However, it is crucial to note that these are early assessments based on limited information and that further analysis is required to fully understand the dynamics at play.

Zimbabwe’s Perspective: Prigozhin and the Mnangagwa Parallel

In Zimbabwe, political analysts are drawing parallels between Prigozhin’s actions and the political maneuvering of Emmerson Mnangagwa in 2017. Mnangagwa, now the President of Zimbabwe, is believed to have weakened his predecessor, Robert Mugabe, before eventually taking over the country’s leadership. Analyst Howard Nyoni suggests that Prigozhin’s temporary retreat to Belarus, following a dramatic 24-hour threat against Putin, mirrors Mnangagwa’s strategy in 2017.

Nyoni implies that Prigozhin’s actions have potentially weakened Russian President Putin, similar to how Mnangagwa weakened Mugabe before his eventual return and ascension to power. The comparison highlights the possible political implications of Prigozhin’s maneuvers, suggesting that he may be leveraging his actions to gain influence or assert his position within the Russian power structure.

Analyzing Prigozhin’s Motives

The motivations behind Prigozhin’s assault on Moscow and subsequent retreat to Belarus remain speculative. It is important to approach these developments with caution, as limited information is available, and the situation continues to evolve rapidly. Prigozhin’s actions could be driven by a variety of factors, including personal ambitions, political power struggles, or even an attempt to test the loyalty of Russian armed forces.

Ascertaining the true intentions of Prigozhin and his long-term goals requires a comprehensive understanding of the intricate dynamics within the Russian political landscape, which may take time to unravel. Until then, it is essential to consider multiple perspectives and exercise caution when drawing conclusions.

The recent developments involving Yevgeny Prigozhin and the Wagner Army in Moscow have raised intriguing questions about strategic planning, military capabilities, and political motives. While US Political Analyst Michael McFaul suggests that Prigozhin’s assault on Moscow appeared better planned than Putin’s assault on Kyiv, Zimbabwean analysts draw parallels between Prigozhin’s actions and Emmerson Mnangagwa’s political tactics in 2017.

As events continue to unfold, it

is imperative to approach the situation with an open mind, recognizing that the available information is limited. Further analysis and insights from experts will be crucial in understanding the full implications of these developments in both Russia and Zimbabwe.

Former Health Minister Vies For Local Authority Post

Former Minister of Health and Child Care Minister, Dr Henry Madzorera has thrown his hat in the race for ward 10 in City Council in the August 23 harmonised elections

He is contesting on Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) ticket after successfully filing his nomination papers at Kwekwe Civic Centre on Wednesday.

Madzorera, who served as health minister during the Government of National Unit (GNU) and senator for Kwekwe under then MDC-T party, is highly regarded in the provincial party structures.

Speaking during an interview after his nomination, Madzorera said he cherishes his nomination for the local authority seat saying being a councillor was more important job than being MP or Senator.

“The reasons are behind the scenes, people think that from a senator to a councillor is a climb down but being a councillor is a much more important job than being an MP or a senator. People think being a senator is much of a job but the work is on the ground where issues are raised,” said Madzorera.

Chivaviro Snubs Warriors

South Africa have beaten Zimbabwe in snapping Ranga Chivaviro and handed him his first international call-up.

The red-hot striker recently confirmed that he is open to represent Zimbabwe in international football.

The 30-year-old, who was with Marumo Gallants last season, was born in Limpopo, South Africa to a Zimbabwean father and a South African mother and grew up in Mpumalanga. This makes him eligible to play for any of the two nations.

Speaking on Metro FM this week, Chivaviro said: “Honestly it would definitely be food for thought (if I’m called to the Warriors). I wouldn’t blatantly say ‘no’. I would obviously think about it and I think in the end consider it.

“I’ve always said this, it’s a good honour to represent your own country or a certain country. As a footballer, one day when you retire and you’re sitting at home, it’s nice to look back and say I’ve donned a certain national jersey you know.”

But South Africa have moved ahead as they offered the player his first call-up in the preliminary Bafana Bafana squad for the COSAFA Cup.

The tournament will take place from 5 to 16 July 2023 in Durban and the Warriors are not taking part due to the FIFA ban.

FC Mazodze Keen To Bring Back Premier League Football To Masvingo

Football fans in Masvingo watched in disbelief as the Premier Soccer League title slipped through their fingers 18 years ago.

On the final day of the 2005 season, second-placed Masvingo United, who were just two points adrift of log leaders CAPS United, needed a win to wrestle the title away from the Green Machine.

Ironically, Makepekepe’s crosstown rivals Dynamos stood in the way of Masvingo on a rainy afternoon at Mucheke Stadium.

Unfortunately for Asipo Haapo, they were beaten 1-2 by DeMbare and lost the title to CAPS.

Painfully for Masvingo, Charles Mhlauri’s charges had been beaten 0-3 by army side Black Rhinos at the National Sports Stadium.

Six years after that momentous afternoon, Masvingo United were relegated from the Premiership.

For 12 years, football fans in Masvingo have not tasted top-flight football.

But ambitious Masvingo-based Eastern Region Division One side FC Wangu Mazodze are determined to end the historic city’s forgotten epoch.

“We are the pride and hope of Masvingo Province,” FC Wangu Mazodze spokesperson Sukuouluhle Ndlovu told Soccer24.

“It’s about time we claim our position in the country’s football arena and playing in the Premier Soccer League is our mandate as of now.

“The team goes by the name the Kingdom Boys and for sure the kingdom is ours as we are going to gain promotion this year,” declared Ndlovu.

Mazodze, owned by United States-based businessman Richard Mazodze, also play their home matches at Mucheke.

Former CAPS United defender George Magariro is the head coach and at his disposal are players with Premiership experience —Hillary Bakacheza, formerly with FC Platinum, former ZPC Kariba left back Dexter Phiri, and Nicholas Muchadeyi previously with Chicken Inn.

Mazodze are currently second on the Eastern Region Division One log standings, one point adrift of log leaders Tenax.-Soccer24 News

ZANU PF Buses Caught Dodging A Tollgate

By Farai D Hove | In an embarrassing turn of events, a significant number of buses, trucks, and other vehicles associated with ZANU PF were on Saturday caught evading tollgate fees at the 22 Miles Tollgate. A clandestine detour road was allegedly created to enable these vehicles to bypass the tollgate and avoid paying toll fees. This illicit activity has resulted in substantial financial losses for the country, both in US dollars and RTGS currency. The situation raises questions about the fairness of toll collection and the authorities’ ability to enforce regulations.

The Tollgate Scandal

On a day when these vehicles were heading to a rally organized by President Emmerson Mnangagwa in Chipinge, it was observed that a special detour road had been established solely for the purpose of evading tollgate fees. This unauthorized route allowed the ZANU PF convoy to bypass the tollgate altogether, causing significant losses in revenue. Reports indicate that by 10 AM, more than 100 vehicles, including buses, had already taken advantage of this illegal route.

The tollgate workers from the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA), stationed at the 22 Miles Tollgate, were rendered powerless as the commandeered vehicles drove past without making the required toll payments. This blatant act of evading toll fees raises concerns about the integrity of toll collection systems and the enforcement of toll-related regulations.

Contradictory Actions by ZINARA

What adds insult to injury is the fact that just a few months ago, a ZINARA manager based at the same 22 Miles Tollgate caused the arrest of a local villager for allegedly allowing vehicles to pass through his farm to avoid the tollgate. ZINARA had vehemently declared such actions illegal, emphasizing the significant revenue losses suffered by the state due to toll evasion. This stark contradiction in ZINARA’s handling of toll avoidance incidents raises questions about the fairness and consistency of their operations.

Calls for Action

Given the gravity of the situation and the substantial financial losses incurred, it is imperative that ZINARA and other relevant authorities take immediate action to address this tollgate scandal. The police have reportedly been deployed to monitor and control the detour road, ensuring that only vehicles heading to President Mnangagwa’s rally can utilize it. However, this measure does not address the fundamental issue of toll evasion itself.

ZINARA, in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), must conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. This investigation should identify the individuals responsible for facilitating the illegal detour road and those involved in the toll evasion. The findings should then be followed by appropriate legal action to hold the perpetrators accountable for their actions.

The recent incident involving ZANU PF buses and trucks evading tollgate fees at the 22 Miles Tollgate is a matter of grave concern. Not only does it highlight the need for a comprehensive review of toll collection procedures and security, but it also raises questions about the integrity of those entrusted with enforcing these regulations.

To restore public trust in the toll collection system, it is crucial for ZINARA and other relevant authorities to act swiftly and decisively. They must investigate this scandal thoroughly, prosecute those responsible, and implement measures to prevent future toll evasion. Only by addressing these issues can Zimbabwe ensure the fair collection of toll fees and protect the country’s revenue streams.

Zanu PF Infiltrates Chamisa Camp, Causes Confusion

By-The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party has accused ZANU PF of confusing by fielding double and sometimes triple nominations across the country.

CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere alleged that ZANU PF forged signatures on nomination papers to cause chaos after it failed to penetrate the party’s systems.

During a press conference in the capital on Thursday, Mahere said they discovered double nominations in 20 provinces and reported the matter to the police. The CCC has also filed an appeal with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), objecting to people whose names appear as CCC candidates but were not signed for by the party. Mahere said they have sufficient evidence of fraud and would be going to court. She said:

ZANU PF failed to penetrate our systems and what did they do, they went and forged our signatures and created 20 odd double candidates that you see across the country for National Assembly and a number of them in wards across the country.

We have filed objections in terms of the Electoral Act to people whose names appear as our candidates and were not signed for by us. The second issue is (that) criminal reports have been made to the police in Masvingo and other constituencies because this is a fraud, it’s criminal.

In some cases, we have a candidate who says well my money was paid and papers filed but not by me, I don’t know who filed these, there is someone clearly behind that

Meanwhile, ZANU PF has distanced itself from the chaos and said it was satisfied with its own nomination process and expecting victory in the August 23 polls.

Former Information Minister, Jonathan Moyo, responded to accusations that ZANU PF was responsible for the CCC’s double nominations. The Political Science Professor argued that the CCC was criminalizing politics and that the fact that the double nominations involved CCC members who participated in the party’s opaque candidate selection process indicated a lack of internal structures and processes to deal with its own members. Moyo criticised the CCC for abusing the criminal justice system and urged the party to develop a constitution and structures to manage its internal politics. He said:

CCC CRIMINALISING POLITICS The fact that Triple C’s triple and double candidate nominations actually involve individuals who are its “members” and who as such participated in its opaque candidate selection process – and some who won in that process which used the archaic but visible ‘Bereka Mwana’ method – means that CCC should ‘cry foul’ to and about those individuals, meaning its “members”, and no one else. Those individuals who in Triple C’s triple or double nomination saga are supposed to be CCC members. The fact that CCC is crying foul, point fingers to outsides like ZanuPF and FAZ clearly means CCC does not have structures and processes to deal with its errant or wayward members. So, CCC is now turning what is political into ‘criminal’ conduct, alleging “fraud” against its “members” and whomever is alleged to have connived with them, hoping to get @PoliceZimbabwe to help it manage its structureless internal politics. But this is absurd. As a political party, CCC is abusing the criminal justice system simply and only because it has no structures to deal with its alleged ‘members’, who were so wayward as to register themselves as Triple C’s triple or double candidates. CCC should stop criminalising politics and come to terms with the consequences of not having a constitution and not having structures based on that constitution!

Zimbabwe goes to the polls on 23 August to elect a new president, members of Parliament (MPs), Senators and Councillors.

Kasukuwere Faces Arrest

By James Gwati- Independent Presidential candidate and former Cabinet Minister Saviour Kasukuwere will be arrested once he sets foot in Zimbabwe.

Kasukuwere’s pending arrest was announced by the police, who said they had two arrest warrants hanging the aspiring President.

The police said these arrest warrants were issued way before he expressed his intentions to contest for the presidency.

Kasukuwere is among 11 candidates that successfully filed their nomination papers to contest the presidential elections on August 23.

He will stand as an independent candidate.
In interviews with the South African media where he is based, Kasukuwere sought to paint a picture of persecution by the Zimbabwe Government and alleged that he feared arrest on political grounds once he lands in the country to campaign ahead of elections.
However, The Herald can reveal that a warrant of arrest was issued on January 18, 2019 by retired Harare magistrate Mr Hosea Mujaya after the former Cabinet minister and key G40 figure in the late President Robert Mugabe’s Government, failed to appear for trial on four counts of criminal abuse of office.
Another was issued after Kasukuwere failed to resubmit his passport to the clerk of court during the agreed period.
The disgraced former Cabinet minister has been making feeble attempts to play the persecution card as he has been portraying his charges as politically motivated, but the fact of the matter is that he was issued with warrants of arrest after he skipped court proceedings and after he proved untrustworthy.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi told The Herald last night that police were in possession of two warrants which had not been cancelled.
“We have two warrants of arrest that have not been cancelled yet. The first warrant was issued by magistrate Mujaya on January 18 2019 where he was facing criminal law charges under Section 174 (b) (a) of the criminal law code because he defaulted court under number CRB HarareR842/18.
“The second warrant is under 39/18, he was given his passport but failed to submit it back within the stipulated period so the police should execute these warrants they are currently in possession of and so far there are no indications that they have been cancelled,” he said.
In a separate interview, Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary Virginia Mabhiza said Kasukuwere should submit himself before the laws of Zimbabwe.
“When someone is issued with a warrant of arrest, they should submit before the law. What he should do is submit himself before the law and seek cancellation of the warrants. He has his lawyers, so they should advise him on what he should do. His submission to the law is standard procedure,” she said.

Mnangagwa Unleashes Police On Kasukuwere

By James Gwati- The Zimbabwe Republic Police said they would arrest former Cabinet Minister Saviour Kasukuwere once he sets foot in Zimbabwe.

LEAKED: Qoki Bribes

Like we have been saying: The truth unfolds. Qoki’s scandal unfolds.

By Nancy Nhuku | For some reason, we are reminded of a common song ‘When Jesus says yes nobody can say no!’ This befits the whole situation. Believe it or not, there are real victims in all these Qoki Zindlovukazi scrupulous projects, we do make an exceptional effort in supporting victims and gathering information. This is by far the most heartbreaking exercise, where real investors and victims speak out, in case one wonders why this newsmedia is still producing Qoki articles. This is also being done to raise awareness and educate our community, there are trends and patterns that continue to emerge from this investigation. There is abundance of voluntary shocking and devastating content to explore. The latest being the reaction to the previous opinion article on what went wrong with the great mighty Qoki. To recap, we featured Ms Sithule Tshuma’s audio saying “We had to do what we had to do” regarding obtaining Subdivision permits. We posited the question that ‘One wonders if she was insinuating that she had to bribe her way through to get subdivision division permits’?
1st** audio.

Rest assured there was no malice in this, just critical thinking and analysis. As fate would have it, the publication received a phenominal response from the victims. Have you ever heard of the adage “oil and water do not mix”? This is evidence that it surely does not, below is an audio of the Qoki Highness confessing and confirming the theory that there was bribing involved. An attempt to do a verbatim transcription of the audio was made, although not stenographic. Please note that this audio is an intimate conversation between Tshuma’s own, one of her own trusted investors/friends. It is important to assert that the mission is not to convince people, however, to publish our research and as such do not care who comes on board or does not. The mission is to educate and unpack this to the root cause and will stop at nothing. The essence is to approach this with an open mind, therefore the onus is on Ms Sithule Tshuma and allies to prove investors, victims and community at large wrong. The audio below refers;

2nd Audio***

Sithule: Mina you know what, they can do what they want to do at the end of the day I go to bed with a clear conscience. What I will tell you now is that, my Uncle is a ZIMRA boss. Then we have a lady Everjoy Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, her sister is a boss at the Deed office.
Portia: ‘So Sithu, when a Deed is said to be missing or have disappeared, what does it mean…
Sithule: ‘It doesn’t disappear, I think because everyone is going to look for it…..they end up protecting the buyer..
Sithule: As I’m telling you, Sikhanyiso Everjoy Ndlovu’s sister is the ZIMRA boss….Bridget Dube goes to Deed office…..once Zi checks…then me, my uncle does all assessments….but I can’t jeopardise his job by telling everyone…..
Sithule: Do you know what, I will tell you something, you are lucky, not that you are lucky, do you know that mina every permit In Harare, for people to work and do their job, you know permits take 6 years to come out, just because they don’t get paid, they just want bribe money, you hear them say ‘tirikuda mari isu’ (we want money). You know that every permit I was bribing paying $4000, just so they do their job.
In an article published by The Chronicle on June the 3rd 2023, Tshuma advised that Qoki projects began in 2020 and are estimated to be worth between US$20 million and US$25 million, ‘We are currently working on over 27 projects spread across Matabeleland, with additional land in Hwange, Plumtree, Esigodini, and surrounding areas of Bulawayo’. In her disclosure audio, where Tshuma confirms her lawyer Mr Zibusiso Charles Ncube can testify to, Tshuma outlined that she bribed Harare Spatial planning offices with a minimum of $4000. With all these bribery funds Tshuma is happily stating she paid, one is compelled to wonder if a whopping total of over $130 000 was spent by Qoki in bribing the Harare and perhaps Umguza and Bulawayo City Council for all these permits and other processes. Where did Tshuma get this plus $130 000 to pay for bribes? Qoki alleges they were doing this to help the women and that Qoki does not get paid to do the projects. The golden question for ‘MaGolide’ as loyalists call her, where did Tshuma get all this money for bribes? None of the investors so far have advised they paid Tshuma bribery money. How is Tshuma making her money in all these projects? What’s her interest? Is it really purely to help? Most investors are disgusted by these revelations and feel strongly violated by Qoki’s deception.
Shockingly, Ms Sithule Tshuma, a mother, a Mental health staff nurse, and a ‘self claimed philanthropy guru’, states clearly in most of her audios that she goes to bed with a clear conscience. One wonders how such self confessed and disclosed bribery fraudulent activities are not a concern to her? More to follow……
In a similar vein, the Qoki Trucks also continue to reveal more devastating and unbelievable Qoki management and decision making processes. Below is audio and investors views indicating that only one person Tshuma has the power to make decisions:

The common theme in all these Qoki Projects, is that Tshuma was encouraging the vulnerable women to borrow some loans to fund these experimental Projects, with Karen Kumalo being portrayed as the Bank 7 streams guru. Unbeknown to these victims that their borrowed loans were part of Tshuma and Kumalo’s 7 streams of income. It is hoped that now that the Qoki Highness is saying ‘this is now affecting me’, perhaps things might be done differently. Does that mean Tshuma only takes action to matters that only affect her personally? What kind of leadership style does Qoki employ? If any?
Ladies and gentlemen this is exactly what this news agency has been uncovering, this is for you to judge if this publication is being jealous, malicious and plotting a coup as accused or just pure advocacy journalism dedicated for victims and investors.
Lessons learnt.. do not judge a book by its cover but pay attention to the vibrations and their frequency. The 12 laws of universe come to mind. If ignorant or in any doubt please look up or revisit the topic.

Kasukuwere Fears For His Return To Zimbabwe

EXILED former cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere has announced that he fears for his safety if he returns to Zimbabwe where he is expected to launch his election campaign in person.

He will be contesting as an independent presidential candidate in the August 23 plebiscite after successfully filing his nomination in absentia on Tuesday.

Addressing the media at a press briefing in South Africa, Kasukuwere said he will be engaging responsible authorities to ensure his safety.

Kasukuwere left the country in the 2017 military coup that removed the late Robert Mugabe from power.

At that time he was facing some criminal charges which were later quashed by the High Court.

Asked if he does not fear returning to Zimbabwe after filing his nomination papers, Wednesday, Kasukuwere said he has to take security issues into consideration.

“Yes we have to take security issues into consideration. You don’t board a plane as passenger 34 and just rock up without doing some preparatory work.

“We did that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way,” he said.

He added, “But we trust that now we are in the election period. You can’t weaponise institutions against your opponents. I’m sure this is an election that everyone wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is not contested.

“We want our country to be back on an international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election with a good fight and at the end of the day we are all brothers and sisters.

“So we are concerned and we will be raising these issues with relevant institutions, we have our SADC board…it’s important that every contestant is projected and secure.

Kasukuwere also said “Now what we have in Zimbabwe is a caretaker president.”

“We are all equal now. The only day that will have a difference between myself, Mnangagwa and Chamisa …is after 23 August after counting and somebody has emerge… then we can start arresting each other if we want to arrest people. But the game is not about arresting each other. Let’s go to the ground and campaign. Let’s tell people what we can do,” he said.

On Wednesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said he is impressed with peace currently prevailing in the country urging the same during the election season.

“Zimbabwe is now a mature democracy. This (nomination) process is so peaceful. This is what we want and should continue now during the process of campaigning, during the process of elections. This is the peace we want as a mature democracy,” he said.

Kasukuwere Seeks SADC Protection From Vengeful Mnangagwa Regime

Presidential candidate Saviour Kasukuwere on Thursday hinted at seeking SADC protection from vengeful Zimbabwean authorities as he announced a slew of promises to the electorate while launching his ambitious bid for the top job.

The 52-year-old, who has been holed up in South Africa since 2018, was addressing journalists a day after he filed his nomination papers through a representative in Harare.

He said he plans to return to Zimbabwe soon to campaign ahead of general elections on August 23.

He admitted booking a flight to Harare from Johannesburg on June 21 as a decoy to test the response of authorities. A flight manifest with his name leaked online.

“We have to take security issues into consideration. We don’t board the plane and just rock up without doing some preparatory work,” he said.

“We did exactly that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way.”

Kasukuwere, who served as youth minister and later local government minister, was forced into exile following Robert Mugabe’s November 2017 ouster as president by the military.

He is demanding to be allowed to campaign freely.

“We trust now that we are in the election period, you can’t weaponise institutions against your opponents,” he said about President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who succeeded Mugabe. “I am sure this is an election that everybody wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is uncontested so that we allow our country to be back on the international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election; we had a good fight but at the end of the day, we are still brothers and sisters.”

The former Zanu-PF political commissar said he was going to take the necessary precaution to ensure his own safety when he eventually returns to Zimbabwe.

“So yes, we are concerned, we are still very concerned and we will be raising these issues with relevant authorities. We have our Southern African Development Committee (SADC) body, we have the monitoring teams that will be coming to our country, it’s important that every contestant is protected and secure,” he said.

The once powerful politician said he was going to hire buses for Zimbabweans based in South Africa to travel home and cast their ballots.

“We are going to be arranging about 500 buses or so to transport Zimbabweans to come and vote in the next elections. Secondly, Dr (Walter) Mzembi has a very able team which he is working with to create a database of Zimbabweans from various stations in life to bring forward their ideas and hopefully to be part and parcel of those who will be able to come in and jump-start our economy,” he said.

As part of his plans, Kasukuwere said he intends to address the Gukurahundi atrocities which have been parked by the Zanu-PF-led government for nearly 40 years.

“Post-independence violence in the Matebeleland region, we need to be sincere, engage and bury our differences. We can’t adopt an ostrich mentality; you hide your head and you think people can’t see you,” he said.

“You have to be genuine so that people come forward and we all work in one direction.”

To entice voters, Kasukuwere also promised – if voted into power – to create employment opportunities, reform state institutions, grow the economy, fight corruption, among other things.

He promised to harness Zimbabwe’s mineral wealth to drive new investments in infrastructure development, including building new roads, power stations and revamping the rail network.

The politician was in the company of former tourism and foreign minister Walter Mzembi, another of the exiled former Mugabe allies who is now assisting him with his campaign for the country’s top job. He described Mzembi as his “running mate.”

ZDF, Oppah Comment On Monica Mutsvangwa Sloppiness At ZBC

Muchinguri on Monica Mutsvangwa

In a recent statement during the COVID pandemic, Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri expressed her concerns about Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa’s alleged lack of commitment to nation building. Muchinguri went on to accuse Mutsvangwa of wasting time on self-promotion rather than carrying out the important responsibilities of her position. Furthermore, Muchinguri blamed the Chinese government for the creation of COVID-19, suggesting that it originated from lab experiments that spiraled out of control.

Criticism of Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa

Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri raised eyebrows with her remarks directed at Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa. Muchinguri accused Mutsvangwa of neglecting her duties to promote herself instead. These claims have drawn attention due to their potential impact on the government’s ability to effectively communicate with the public and foster a sense of unity and progress.

It is essential for government officials, particularly those in positions responsible for information dissemination, to prioritize the needs of the nation and work towards the betterment of society. Nation building requires collaboration, effective communication, and a clear focus on the welfare of the public. Any diversion from these core principles can hinder progress and create divisions within society.

The Importance of Effective Broadcasting

One of the concerns highlighted by Minister Muchinguri is the alleged failure of the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) to fulfill its role in educating and protecting the public. She claims that instead of focusing on these crucial aspects, the ZBC bosses are more interested in self-promotion.

Public broadcasting plays a significant role in disseminating accurate and timely information to the masses. It is through platforms like ZBC that citizens receive updates on important matters, including health advisories, public safety measures, and government initiatives. If the primary objective of public broadcasters is compromised by self-serving agendas, it undermines the public’s trust and reduces the effectiveness of such institutions in fulfilling their intended purpose.

The Controversial Claim on the Origin of COVID-19

In addition to criticizing Mutsvangwa’s alleged lack of dedication to nation building, Muchinguri made controversial statements regarding the origins of COVID-19. She implicated the Chinese government, suggesting that the virus was created during lab experiments that spiraled out of control.

It is important to note that the origin of COVID-19 is still a subject of ongoing scientific investigation. While various hypotheses have been put forward, including the possibility of a laboratory incident, conclusive evidence has yet to be established. Accusations without concrete evidence can potentially fuel misinformation and create unnecessary tensions between nations.

The Need for Unity and Collaboration

In times of crisis, it is crucial for government officials to prioritize the welfare of the nation and work together towards common goals. Unity and collaboration are essential elements of nation building. It is through collective efforts, effective communication, and transparent governance that societies can overcome challenges and thrive.

Government officials should focus on fostering an environment of trust, where public interest is prioritized over personal gain. The responsibility to educate, protect, and serve the public should remain paramount, ensuring the well-being and progress of the nation.

Defence Minister Oppah Muchinguri’s criticisms of Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa have brought to light concerns about the prioritization of personal promotion over nation building. The importance of effective broadcasting and the responsible dissemination of information cannot be understated in the development and progress of any country. Moreover, making unsubstantiated claims about the origin of COVID-19 can further complicate global efforts to understand and address the pandemic.

To promote a united and prosperous society, government officials must focus on the needs of the nation, collaborate with each other, and communicate.

21 Presidential Candidates Submitted Papers For Nomination

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) said 21 candidates submitted their nomination papers on Wednesday, but 10 were not accepted for various reasons including failing to pay the US$20,000 fee or not having enough nominations from registered voters. Each candidate was required to have 10 nominations from each of the country’s 10 provinces.

ZEC’s deputy chairman Rodney Kiwa told the state-run Zimpapers Television News that President Emmerson Mnangagwa, leader of Zanu-PF, and his main rival Nelson Chamisa of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) both had their papers accepted.

Ex-cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere will also be on the ballot as an independent, joined by MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora; Lovemore Madhuku of NCA; Joseph Busha of Free Zim Congress; Trust Chikohora of ZCPD; Blessing Kasiyamhuru of ZIPP; Wilbert Archbald Mubaiwa of NPC, Gwinyai Muzorewa of UANC and Harry Peter Wilson of DOP.

Kiwa said other lists of successful candidates for the National Assembly and local authority elections would be released by June 30 to give room for aggrieved candidates to mount court appeals.

Kiwa said a number of double candidates for one unnamed party – believed to be the CCCC – were recorded in Harare, Bulawayo and Masvingo. The CCC says unapproved candidates forged signatures and has vowed to take legal action.

Mzembi Is My Running Mate, Says Kasukuwere

Presidential candidate Saviour Kasukuwere says he prefers a United States system of running mates to create certainty in leadership succession adding that former foreign affairs minister Walter Mzembi, also exiled, is his “running mate”

Speaking during a press briefing in South Africa early this week, Kasukuwere confirmed booking a flight to Harare on June 20, “Passenger 34”, to test response by authorities in Zimbabwe to his return from South Africa exile and got ‘very interesting results.’

“It’s important that each contestant is protected, is secure. What we have in Zimbabwe right is a caretaker president. We are all equal now. The only time we will have a difference is after August 23 when a winner is announced” – Kasukuwere says.

He says he will return home soon and visit every district to campaign, adding that it is impossible to run a campaign from a foreign country.

Kasukuwere says he is arranging “500 buses or so” to transport Zimbabweans from neighbouring countries to travel home and vote on August 23.

On term limits, Kasukuwere says: “We are now all students of history. We have seen the problems of overstaying your welcome which happened then (with Mugabe). We urged him on to complete the task of land reform. We wanted him to go in dignity. We don’t like how he was treated.”

Road To Elections Has Not Been Free And Fair: Analysts

Political and economic analysts have predicted doom ahead of the general election saying the election process has been marred by suppression of civic space, liberties and controversies around the delimitation boundaries.

Speaking on Al Jazeera’s Inside Story, an analytical episode that looked at upcoming elections, political analyst Tendai Mbofana said the road to election has not been free and fair.

Mbofana cited challenges faced by the opposition parties including the police barring many of its numerous rallies.

“So far the elections do not seem free and fair at all, let us remember the election is not an event it’s a process so this election that we are headed towards in August started at the end of the previous election in 2018,” he said.

“For the past five years what we have seen has not been good does not augur well for a free, fair and credible election.

“We have seen that the opposition has not been allowed to campaign freely, most of their rallies where they go out to campaign to the public have been barred or banned most of the time they have not been given clearance by the police,” he added

ZEC Invites Applications For Postal Voting

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has called for postal vote applications for the upcoming harmonised election, with a deadline of July 5.

ZEC Vice Chairperson, Commissioner Rodney Kiwa, stated that efforts would be made to recruit polling officers from their local areas to reduce the need for postal voting.

“ZEC has written to  Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs and Defence ministries inviting applications for postal voting. Foreign Affairs because of diplomats serving outside the country, Home Affairs because of deployment of ZRP personnel outside the country for peacekeeping operations and immigration because of location of personnel from their preferred polling stations. ZEC makes every effort to recruit polling officers from their local areas where they are registered to cancel out the need for postal voting. Applications for postal voting must be received by ZEC by 5 July,” said Kiwa.

“The only individuals who can vote by post, according to section 72 of the Electoral Act, are registered voters unable to vote at their polling station due to being on duty as members of a disciplined force, serving the government outside Zimbabwe, or being the spouse of such an official,” he added.

Nomination Courts throughout the country received nomination papers from aspiring candidates on Wednesday.

The election is scheduled for August 23.

CCC Candidate Selection: Misunderstanding of or Disagreement with Procedure or Party or Persons?

By Vivid Gwede|The introduction of a new and innovative candidate selection procedure by the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections has occasioned heated debate.

Some commentary has lauded the process as innovative and effective.

A contrarian perspective has painted the process as not understandable, confusing and vague even to CCC members, or outright opaque.

To dispel this latter charge, this submission argues, that those who called the procedure not understandable, confusing, and opaque were mostly in fact, pre-emptively disagreeing with, or opposed to it, latently or vehemently.

In short, they were attacking rather than disinterestedly assessing it, even unfairly so.

Noticeable Disagreement

From the outset, the CCC candidate selection procedure ahead of the 2023 harmonized elections on 23 August attracted two noticeable strands of disagreement with it, or opposition to it.

Firstly, opposition to the candidate selection procedure on account of preference and nostalgia for traditional primary elections, which are familiar and deemed convenient and best practice.

Secondly, opposition to the candidate selection procedure, stemming from deeper opposition to the CCC’s politics in general, and its leader in particular, and or ideas about both the leader and his politics.

Suffices it, to just highlight the above two observations.

And then proceed to argue, that latent opposition or vehement disagreement with the process was however publicly and actively performed and or concealed as misunderstanding of the same process, with subsequent labels such as “opaque”, “confusing” and “chaotic.”

Wilful Ignorance, Disinterest

Those who wanted to know the procedure could have done so, by taking an active interest and effort to study and know it, as it was by definition new.

Thus, positively inclined researchers and commentators outside the CCC structures – which structures were briefed and oriented on the process — took this route and positively commented on it, even quoting some relevant documents or manuals.

Some commentators took no effort, simply insisting that it was opaque, rendering it so by default, at least to themselves.

This attitude simply masked at the deeper level the fact that these critics disagreed with the process or the personalities.

Thus, having taken a pre-emptive attitude of disagreeing with the new CCC candidate selection process such critics saw no point or need in understanding it.

Such critics therefore masked both their dislike and wilful ignorance of the process in idle protestations that it was opaque, confusing and not understandable.

Yet, such attitude disrespected the fact that this was the biggest opposition in the country, and potential governing party.

The pre-emptive attitude that the procedure was incapable of being understood was detrimental in some respects.

A crucial consequence of the consistent narrative that the CCC candidate selection procedure was opaque, by those who were simply expressing their inherent disagreement, discouraged those who genuinely wanted and would have made efforts to follow it and understand it.

Thus, it manufactured and encouraged, in some innocent quarters, genuine ignorance of the process.

Contrary Evidence

The evidence shows that the process was open and publicly explained.

Unsubstantiated claims were made that even the ordinary members of the CCC did not understand the process and could suffer prejudice, even as same members were happily and easily engaging with it across the country.

The pre-emptive attitude that the procedure was opaque actively ignored official platforms created by the CCC spokespersons, Elections Bureau and its President to explain the process, including press conferences.

In efforts, not to lose the people and carry everyone along, through the different stages, the CCC even made these public statements periodic.

In those press conferences, various stages of the process were shared, and explained, including the nomination, vetting, validation, caucuses, and candidate declaration.

The CCC even also explained that the ultimate result would not be determined by any of the above stages, but a combination of all.

What was not shared for public consumption, would have been either superfluous or even strategically unwise in an authoritarian environment, such as a detailed calendar, which was however shared with the relevant structures – yes, structures – through relevant channels, within reasonable notice periods!

The available evidence does not point to efforts to make the process opaque, but rather to publicly explain it.

‘Where are our candidates?’

A symptomatic expression of this “opaque” and “confusing” narrative was the refrain: “Where is our candidates list?” with the insinuation that there might be an unresolvable hide-and-seek!

Yet, even this issue of timelines and candidate list was intuitive.

Those familiar with the law would have known that after the sitting of the Nomination Court on June 21, 2023, all final candidates contesting in the 2023 elections would have been known having been publicized by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), including those of the CCC.

In fact, that would be a final list of eligible candidates rather than a draft.

Whether making the list known way before nomination would still have not guaranteed the eradication of some cases of double candidates, which is a deeper and complex question as we have seen in the past.

Thus, accusations of playing hide-and-seek with candidates’ list was unfounded and manufactured hysteria.

Where certain information was not made public mostly to do with timing than anything else, the CCC president, Adv. Nelson Chamisa, gave an explanation through what he called the doctrine of strategic ambiguity and justified its relevance to the political and electoral context.

Yet, we all know it would have been better strategic ambiguity had no explanation been offered.

Save this would have created real confusion, opaqueness and misunderstanding, contrary to the party’s perceptible wish!

But, what is astounding, is that to some commentators the process had to remain “opaque,” despite the fact that key documents and templates such as vetting forms and procedure manual were made public documents, searchable on the internet!

This gives credence to the perception of wilful ignorance.

Conclusion

Sentiments that that the CCC candidate selection procedure was opaque, confusing and not understandable may have simply reflected, on a deeper level, the critics’ disagreement with the process and its implementers, and subsequent reluctance to understand it, than fair commentary.

This disagreement also stemmed from understandable comfort with primary elections which are familiar, but also pre-conceived and calculated dislike of opposition politics and ideas in general, as well as particular personalities such as those of the CCC leader, Adv. Chamisa.

In doing so, a clear-eyed opportunity to engage with the innovative process was missed, which is now only available in retrospect.

Zanu PF Accused Of Sting Operation Against CCC Nomination Process

THE opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party has accused Zanu PF of causing confusion in the nomination process in which it ended up fielding double and in some cases triple nominations across the country.

Addressing a Press conference in Harare late yesterday, CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said Zanu PF forged signatures on nomination papers to cause chaos after it failed to penetrate the party’s systems.

“Zanu PF failed to penetrate our systems and what did they do, they went and forged our signatures and created 20 odd double candidates that you see across the country for National Assembly and a number of them in wards across the country,” she said.

Mahere said they discovered double nominations in 20 provinces and the matter had since been reported to the police, and an appeal with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) had also been filed.

“We have filed objections in terms of the Electoral Act to people whose names appear as our candidates and were not signed for by us. The second issue is (that) criminal reports have been made to the police in Masvingo and other constituencies because this is a fraud, it’s criminal,” Mahere said.

“In some cases, we have a candidate who says well my money was paid and papers filed but not by me, I don’t know who filed these, there is someone clearly behind that,” she said.

Mahere said they would be going to court since they had sufficient evidence to prove there was fraud because the forms of those involved in double nomination had dubious logos and wrong signatures.

Meanwhile, Zanu PF has distanced itself from the chaos in the CCC saying it was satisfied with its own nomination process and was expecting victory in the August 23 polls.

Soldier Shoots Villager

BEITBRIDGE-A Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) member is facing attempted murder charges after allegedly shooting a villager for refusing to carry him in a donkey-drawn cart.

Citizens Unstoppable

Tinashe Sambiri

The Zanu PF regime’s desperate attempt to subvert the will of the people is futile.

This was said by CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa.

Briefing the media after successfully filing nomination papers, President Chamisa said :

ZEC charges are criminal, illegal and too high.
Zanu PF is doomed. We are facing a weak Zanu PF and this makes our task easy.
A factionalised Zanu PF is weak and doomed.
We have paid the required amount but what ZEC has done is unAfrican, illegal and unconstitutional.

How can one pay for offering services to the public.”

He added :
” The issue of Tendai Biti, everything is under control, our focus is on government.

Zanu PF is battling tooth and nail to frustrate us but we are formidable. “

Mnangagwa’s Girlfriend Announces 2 Warrants Of Arrest For Kasukuwere

ZANU PF-Controlled Herald Announces Warrants of Arrest Against Robert Mugabe’s Successor Kasukuwere

By Farai D Hove | In a sudden turn of events, the ZANU PF-controlled newspaper, The Herald, has announced two arrest warrants against Saviour Kasukuwere, the former ZANU PF National Commissar and “successor” to the late head of state Robert Mugabe. This revelation comes just 24 hours after Kasukuwere declared his candidacy for the upcoming 2023 presidential election, challenging the incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The Herald, in a seemingly mocking tone, reported the warrants while quoting Mnangagwa’s girlfriend, Virginia Mabhiza, who emphasized that these warrants were issued prior to Kasukuwere expressing his intention to run for the presidency. The article aims to shed light on the circumstances surrounding these warrants and address the claims of political motivation made by Kasukuwere.

Background:
Saviour Kasukuwere was among the 11 candidates who successfully filed their nomination papers as independent candidates for the presidential elections scheduled for August 23. While based in South Africa, Kasukuwere has been vocal about his concerns regarding potential political persecution by the Zimbabwean government upon his return to campaign for the elections. In an attempt to portray the charges against him as politically motivated, he has sought international media attention.

Warrants of Arrest:
Contradicting Kasukuwere’s claims, the Herald printed saying the arrest warrants were issued on January 18, 2019, by retired Harare magistrate Mr Hosea Mujaya. The warrants were a consequence of Kasukuwere’s failure to appear for trial on four counts of criminal abuse of office. Moreover, another warrant was issued after Kasukuwere failed to resubmit his passport to the clerk of court within the agreed period. The existence of these warrants indicates that they were not issued in response to Kasukuwere’s presidential aspirations, but rather as a result of his non-compliance with legal proceedings.

Police Confirmation:
The National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the validity of the warrants and stated that they had not been cancelled. The first warrant was issued based on Kasukuwere’s failure to attend court proceedings, while the second was related to his failure to return his passport within the stipulated timeframe. Nyathi emphasized that the police were in possession of these warrants and were yet to execute them.

Government’s Response:

Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary, Virginia Mabhiza, asserted that when faced with an arrest warrant, an individual should submit themselves before the law. Mabhiza stressed that Kasukuwere should engage his legal representation to advise him on the appropriate actions to take, including seeking the cancellation of the warrants. She reiterated that submitting oneself to the law is standard procedure.

The sudden announcement of arrest warrants against Saviour Kasukuwere by The Herald, a newspaper controlled by the ruling ZANU PF party, raises questions about the timing and potential political motivations behind the disclosure. However, the confirmation of these warrants by the police, coupled with the government’s response, suggests that they are not a response to Kasukuwere’s presidential candidacy. Rather, they stem from his failure to comply with court proceedings and his unfulfilled obligations related to his passport. As the election season unfolds, it is crucial to differentiate between political maneuvering and legitimate legal processes to ensure a fair and transparent electoral environment in Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa Transfers 300 ZRP Cops Ahead Of 2023 Elections

Routine Restructuring: 300 Junior and Senior Police Officers Reshuffled

In a recent development within the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), 300 junior and senior officers have been reshuffled as part of an ongoing routine restructuring. This process involves the movement of officers between provinces at the top layer and between stations and headquarters. The aim of these transfers is to ensure that officers maintain a breadth of outlook and do not become entrenched in a particular post for an extended period.

Out of the 300 police officers affected by the reshuffling, 100 are senior officers, while the remaining officers are junior members. The transfers have seen these individuals being relocated to police stations and headquarters across the country. Such reassignments provide an opportunity for officers to gain diverse experiences and perspectives from working in different areas.

At the most senior level, Commissioner David Mahoya, the Officer Commanding Police Masvingo Province, has been transferred to head Mashonaland West. Commissioner Crispen Charumbira, who was previously based at Police General Headquarters (PGHQ), has assumed the role of Commissioner in Masvingo Province. Additionally, other high-ranking officers have been moved to different positions and provinces, such as Bulawayo and Manicaland.

The reassignments also extend to the next level down, where Assistant Commissioner Dorothy Matshilana, for instance, has been transferred from Matabeleland North to PGHQ Quartermaster. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Obeylaw Moyo has moved from PGHQ to Mashonaland Central to assume an operational role there. These transfers ensure a rotation of personnel and provide opportunities for officers to contribute their expertise and skills in various capacities.

According to Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, the National Police Spokesperson, these transfers are a regular part of the police service and should not be considered unusual. He emphasizes that the Commissioner-General of Police has the prerogative to make transfers, and these moves are intended to tap into the officers’ experience while aligning them with the requirements of the Zimbabwe Republic Police. Asst Comm Nyathi also highlights that some of the transfers were made to address staffing gaps within the police services.

The ZRP’s human resource policy aims to enhance performance within the organization through reassignments. It promotes versatility among senior officers, facilitates the utilization of their experience, and supports job rotation. Moreover, these transfers are necessary to meet new policing demands as the country progresses towards the goals outlined in Vision 2030, which envisions Zimbabwe becoming an upper middle-income society.

It is worth noting that the ZRP underwent a significant transformation in 2018, introducing a new structure aimed at rebuilding public trust. These routine reshufflings of personnel further contribute to the organization’s ongoing efforts to enhance its effectiveness and efficiency in serving the nation.

In conclusion, the recent reshuffling of 300 junior and senior police officers within the Zimbabwe Republic Police is part of a routine restructuring process. These transfers are intended to maintain a breadth of outlook among officers and prevent them from becoming too entrenched in one position. By rotating personnel between provinces, stations, and headquarters, the police force aims to tap into officers’ experience, promote job versatility, and meet new policing demands. Such reassignments align with the ZRP’s human resource policy and its commitment to enhance performance and adapt to evolving needs as Zimbabwe strives to achieve its long-term development goals.- State Media

CCC, ZEC Clash Over Registration Of Shadowy Party

Dear @ZECzim,

We wanted to inquire whether there exists a political party by the name of Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC).

We are curious about the electoral law with regard to the use of similar symbols by various parties.

We are wondering how someone was registered with a political party that is identical to our party, CCC. Could you kindly clarify this to the citizens?- CCC

No Zim Clubs In African Super League

There will be no Zimbabwean teams in the inaugural CAF African Super League (ASL) which is expected to start in October this year.

There have been rumours suggesting that the country’s two traditional giants Highlanders and Dynamos will take part in the new competition.

However, according to latest suggestions, only South African side Mamelodi Sundowns and Angolan team Petro de Luanda will represent the COSAFA region in the eight-team Super League when it starts this year.

Egyptian side Al Ahly, Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, Esperance from Tunisia, TP Mazembe (DRC), AC Horoya (Guinea) and Simba Sports Club from Tanzania complete the list.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe confirmed to the SABC Sport that the African Super League will start in October, probably with a different name.

“It’s very important, in October this year the inaugural African Super League will commence. We know the dates but some of the big sponsors are saying the history of the Super League in Europe was not good and if you associate the name ‘super’ to a football competition, it has negative connotations,” he said.

“We’ve proceeded thus far and of course, we may change the name but what is indeed gonna happen is in October this year, the inaugural African Super League and I’m gonna keep using the name until such time when we’ve changed it, is gonna kick off.”

The CAF boss added: “At the heart of that, it’s to make sure that there’s more financial resources, more investment in football pitches, more investments in academies, more investment in the youth, more investment in football for boys and girls and also more money for the players. Football has a short life and I’ve said this for the last 20 years. Every player for as long as they play football must make as much money as possible.”- Soccer24 News

Mourinho Resigns

Jose Mourinho has resigned from his role on UEFA ‘s football board after he received a four-match ban in the Europa League.

The sanction resulted after Mourinho criticised Anthony Taylor’s refereeing in Roma’s loss to Sevilla in the Europa League final.

The confrontation led to Taylor and his family being harassed at Budapest Airport by supporters of the Italian club.

Following the ban, the gaffer has resigned from the newly-created board he was only appointed to in April.

The Portuguese manager communicated his decision in a letter to UEFA’s chief of football Zvonimir Boban, who is also the chairman of the football board.

“In thanking you for the invitation you extended to me to be a member of the UEFA football board, I regret to inform you that, effective immediately, I will be renouncing my participation in this group,” read the letter.

“The conditions which I so strongly believed in when I joined are no longer standing and I felt the obligation to take this decision.

“I kindly ask that you also communicate my decision to the President Mr. Aleksander Ceferin.”

The UEFA Football Board was an idea set up by Boban and former referee Roberto Rosetti, made up of illustrious current and former players and coaches who could suggest improvements to the sport and its organisation.-Soccer24 News

Broke Mwonzora Fails To Field Candidates

By-The opposition party, Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T), led by Douglas Mwonzora, has failed to field candidates in all constituencies in Zimbabwe, reportedly due to the party’s financial troubles.

The party’s information and publicity secretary, Witness Dube, told Voice of America (VOA) Studio 7 in an interview that they were unable to pay nomination fees for all their candidates across the country by the close of the Nomination Court. Dube could not provide further details and referred the press to the party’s president, Mwonzora. He said:

We failed to pay nomination fees for all our candidates across the country by close of the Nomination Court. Please get details from the president.

The party’s secretary general, Tapiwa Mashakada, issued a statement to all MDC-T provinces, advising all candidates to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Read the statement:

Due to circumstances beyond our control, all candidates are now advised to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Further communication will be issued regarding the legal status of their nomination papers in view of non-payment. Any inconvenience suffered is most sincerely regretted.

Mwonzora had previously indicated that they were ready for the council, parliamentary, and presidential elections.

Meanwhile, ZANU PF and Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), bitter rivals, have successfully filed their nomination papers at the High Court for the upcoming harmonised elections on August 23.

Zanu PF Informer Withdraws From Presidential Race

By- A suspected Zanu PF informer, Robert Chapman, who is based in the United States and leads a party called the Democratic Union of Zimbabwe, has withdrawn from the 2023 Presidential election.

Chapman expressed gratitude to those who supported his campaign for an alternative option to Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

He cited financial constraints, the limited time before voting day, and concerns about possible fractionalisation and infiltration as reasons for his withdrawal.

 He said:

I would like to personally thank all those who worked hard and remained true to our cause for an alternative option to the political landscape of Zimbabwe.

As I and we all reflect on this moment, the tough lessons allow the opportunity to build back better and wiser. I look forward to campaigning on the ground with all our successfully nominated candidates and remain committed to improving the dialogue about building a better Zimbabwe.

The Zimbabwe elections, which will elect a President, House of Assembly Members, and Councilors, are scheduled for August 23, 2023. A number of aspiring candidates were unable to register for the upcoming elections due to the high fees charged by the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). The fees for presidential candidates are US$20,000, while those contesting for National Assembly seats are charged US$1,000.

Chamisa Selects New, Vibrant Candidates

By- The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa has said that his party has selected new and vibrant candidates to contest in the August polls.

These candidates successfully filed their nominations across the country on Wednesday.

Notably, the final list excluded several veterans, ensuring new faces in the upcoming parliament following the general elections on August 23.

Chamisa said the party had selected the most competent individuals to lead the country’s recovery. Chamisa Unveils His Winning Team

By- The Nelson Chamisa-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has published the names of parliamentary candidates who filed their nominations across the country on Wednesday.

Notably, the final list excluded several veterans, ensuring new faces in the upcoming parliament following the general elections on August 23.

According to Chamisa, the party has selected the most competent individuals to lead the country’s recovery. The CCC initiated the process of selecting their candidates in April but faced criticism for delaying the announcement of the winners until the sitting of the nomination courts. Downfall For Mwonzora As He Fails To Field Candidates

By-Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) leader Douglas Mwonzora’s political career could end this year after he failed to field candidates in all Zimbabwe constituencies due to the party’s financial troubles.

No Zimbabwean Clubs In African Super League

Mourinho Quits UEFA Post

Donate Blood, Save Lives

The slogan for 2023 World Blood Donor Day campaign, celebrated on 14 June 2023, is “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often.” It focuses on patients requiring life-long transfusion support and underlines the role every single person can play, by giving the valuable gift of blood or plasma. It also highlights the importance of giving blood or plasma regularly to create a safe and sustainable supply of blood and blood products that can be always available, all over the world, so that all patients in need can receive timely treatment.

The objectives are to:

celebrate and thank individuals who donate blood and encourage more people to become new donors;
encourage people in good health to donate blood regularly, as often as is safe and possible, to transform the quality of life for transfusion dependent patients and help to build a secure blood supply in all countries in the world;
highlight the critical roles of voluntary non-remunerated regular blood and plasma donations in achieving universal access to safe blood products for all populations; and
mobilize support at national, regional and global levels among governments and development partners to invest in, strengthen and sustain national blood programmes.

Mutsvangwa Sinks Mnangagwa

Monica Mutsvangwa’s Newsroom Africa Interview: Unveiling Falsehoods and Implications

By Terry Lunga | Monica Mutsvangwa, a cabinet minister in Zimbabwe, recently participated in an interview on Newsroom Africa, where she discussed the topic of sanctions against Zimbabwe in the lead-up to the 2023 elections. This interview has been likened to a classic GoldMafia documentary upgrade, as it has exposed Mutsvangwa’s alleged falsehoods regarding the subject of sanctions. The repercussions of her statements have now left the cabinet minister isolated, potentially affecting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s presidency. However, the controversy surrounding the interview goes beyond sanctions, with allegations of personal misconduct and corruption that have marred Mutsvangwa’s reputation and raised concerns about accountability within the government.

Falsehoods Regarding Sanctions and Implications

During the Newsroom Africa interview, Monica Mutsvangwa made statements that have called into question her credibility and transparency. Her claims contradicted the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s announcement that there are no sanctions against Zimbabwe’s imports or exports. This contradiction not only exposed a lack of coordination and consistency within the government but also fueled speculation about the truthfulness of official statements. Mutsvangwa’s remarks suggest that she may be acting independently to undermine President Mnangagwa’s presidency, further destabilizing the political landscape.

Allegations of Personal Misconduct and Corruption

In addition to the falsehoods surrounding sanctions, Monica Mutsvangwa has faced serious allegations of personal misconduct and corruption. Democracy advocate Makomborero Haruzivishe highlighted Mutsvangwa’s family circumstances, stating that her children are based in the United States of America. Haruzivishe went on to claim that Mutsvangwa’s first-born child, Neville Mutsvangwa, engages in illegal forex trading on the black market. These allegations, if proven true, raise significant ethical concerns about Mutsvangwa’s integrity as a public servant and her commitment to serving the interests of the Zimbabwean people.

Public Outrage and Calls for Accountability

The revelations surrounding Monica Mutsvangwa’s alleged misconduct have triggered widespread public outrage and calls for accountability. CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere expressed concern over the damage caused to the country’s image by Mutsvangwa’s interview. The allegations of corruption and the stark contrast between Mutsvangwa’s personal wealth and the hardships faced by many Zimbabweans have further fueled public discontent. Democracy advocate Makomborero Haruzivishe’s impassioned plea for Zimbabweans to take action during the upcoming elections reflects the growing sentiment among the population.

The Role of the Media in Exposing Misconduct

Amidst the controversy, socialite Lynne Mudonhi proposed applauds for the journalist who exposed Monica Mutsvangwa. This highlights the crucial role of the media in uncovering the truth and holding public officials accountable. Journalists have a responsibility to pursue investigative journalism and provide the public with accurate information, enabling citizens to make informed decisions.

Conclusion

Monica Mutsvangwa’s Newsroom Africa interview on the subject of sanctions against Zimbabwe ahead of the 2023 elections has exposed falsehoods and sparked a series of damaging allegations. Her statements, contradicting official announcements, have put her at odds with President Mnangagwa’s administration and raised concerns about her motives. The allegations of personal misconduct and corruption have further tarnished Mutsvangwa’s reputation and intensified public outrage. As the country moves towards the upcoming elections, Zimbabweans are increasingly calling for accountability and transparency within the government. The media’s role in uncovering the truth and shedding light on misconduct should be recognized and celebrated, as it plays a crucial role in fostering a more accountable and just society.

We Are United : President Chamisa

CCC Confronts ZEC Over Registration Of Mnangagwa Surrogate Party

Dear @ZECzim,

We wanted to inquire whether there exists a political party by the name of Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC).

We are curious about the electoral law with regard to the use of similar symbols by various parties.

We are wondering how someone was registered with a political party that is identical to our party, CCC. Could you kindly clarify this to the citizens?- CCC

Basic First Aid Tips For Miners

Chemical spill

Remove spoiled clothing
If skin or eyes affected rinse immediately with clean running water
If ingested do not induce vomiting and do not give water or mi unless told to d so by a health professional.
If inhaled move the person to fresh air and give oxygen if available.
After first aid is given send to hospital as soon as possible.

CIMAS’ Demonic Price Jump’s A National Security Threat

By Dorrothy Moyo | The recent surge in subscriptions for Zimbabwe’s medical aid provider, CIMAS, has raised eyebrows and triggered concerns about national security. Within a remarkably short span of just one month, CIMAS witnessed its subscriber base almost quadruple, with figures skyrocketing from RTGS 500,000 to nearly RTGS 2 million. While the reliability of CIMAS’ services has been acknowledged, this sudden and dramatic increase in subscriptions warrants a closer examination due to its potential implications for the country’s national security. This article aims to shed light on the reasons behind this surge and its associated risks.

The Popularity of CIMAS

CIMAS, as a medical aid provider, has gained a reputation for being more reliable than its counterparts in Zimbabwe. The CIMAS Medexec package, which you and your wife are subscribed to, has evidently appealed to many Zimbabweans seeking quality healthcare coverage. The trust placed in CIMAS is primarily rooted in its ability to offer comprehensive medical services, provide timely access to healthcare facilities, and deliver efficient customer service.

The National Security Implications

While the surge in CIMAS subscriptions may initially seem like a positive development, it raises national security concerns for several reasons:

1. Strain on Healthcare Infrastructure: The sudden influx of subscribers puts immense pressure on Zimbabwe’s healthcare infrastructure. The existing network of hospitals, clinics, and healthcare professionals may struggle to accommodate the increased demand for services. This strain on the healthcare system can lead to longer waiting times, overcrowded facilities, and potentially compromised patient care, thereby impacting the overall well-being of the population.

2. Diversion of Medical Resources: With a surge in CIMAS subscriptions, medical resources such as medications, medical equipment, and personnel could become scarce. The diversion of these resources towards CIMAS may inadvertently disrupt the availability of healthcare services for non-subscribers, exacerbating existing healthcare inequalities and compromising the overall health of the nation.

3. Security Risks to Critical Infrastructure: The sudden concentration of a significant portion of the population under a single medical aid provider poses a risk to critical infrastructure. In the event of a cyber-attack or system failure targeting CIMAS, the potential disruption of healthcare services for a large number of subscribers could have far-reaching consequences, affecting the stability and security of the nation.

4. Financial Vulnerability: The financial implications of a rapid increase in subscriptions must be carefully considered. If CIMAS were to face financial challenges due to the sudden surge, it could potentially impact the stability of the company, compromising its ability to provide quality healthcare services. This scenario could lead to a ripple effect on the national economy and create additional socio-economic challenges for Zimbabweans.

Addressing the Concerns

To mitigate the national security risks associated with CIMAS’ surge in subscriptions, several actions should be taken:

1. Strengthening Healthcare Infrastructure: The government and relevant stakeholders should prioritize the expansion and improvement of healthcare infrastructure.
