The Zanu PF regime’s desperate attempt to subvert the will of the people is futile.
This was said by CCC leader President Nelson Chamisa.
Briefing the media after successfully filing nomination papers, President Chamisa said :
ZEC charges are criminal, illegal and too high. Zanu PF is doomed. We are facing a weak Zanu PF and this makes our task easy. A factionalised Zanu PF is weak and doomed. We have paid the required amount but what ZEC has done is unAfrican, illegal and unconstitutional.
How can one pay for offering services to the public.”
He added : ” The issue of Tendai Biti, everything is under control, our focus is on government.
Zanu PF is battling tooth and nail to frustrate us but we are formidable. “

By Dorrothy Moyo | In recent years, Professor Jonathan Moyo has gained notoriety for his outspoken criticism of the Zimbabwean government and his involvement in exposing the alleged rigging of the 2018 elections. His latest endeavor involves the creation of a lyrical 2023 ballot paper, which portrays Nelson Chamisa as number 11 and President Emmerson Mnangagwa as number 1. This article aims to analyze the poetry and meaning in Professor Moyo’s ballot paper, considering his role in exposing the alleged electoral malpractice in 2018.
Background:
In the 2018 Zimbabwean elections, Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance, challenged President Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU-PF). The election was marred by allegations of rigging and irregularities, leading to widespread concern among opposition parties and international observers. Professor Jonathan Moyo, as the former Information minister, played a significant role in highlighting these alleged irregularities and exposing what he believed to be electoral malpractice.
Analysis of the Lyrical Ballot Paper:
Professor Moyo’s lyrical 2023 ballot paper, featuring Chamisa as number 11 and Mnangagwa as number 1, must be evaluated from two perspectives: fiction and political interpretation.
1. Factual Accuracy:
The numbering of candidates on a ballot paper ordinarily follows a specific alphabetic order based on electoral regulations. Moyo’s copy displays the notorious pitching off of Chamisa’s entry so that it does not rest on number 2, which thing the electoral commission shamelessly did in the 2018.
Moyo writes laying it all out as follows:
Presidential ballot paper for 2023 elections
”
1 Amnangarwa
2 Busha
3 Chikohora
4 Kasukuwere
5 Madhuku
6 Mwonzora
7…
8….
9….
10….
11 Zichamisa”
If Professor Moyo’s ballot paper accurately reflects the official order, it would raise questions about the impartiality of the electoral process.
However, without concrete evidence or access to the official ballot paper for the 2023 elections, it is challenging to verify the accuracy of the claims made by Professor Moyo. The accuracy of his ballot paper relies heavily on the assumption that the previous elections were rigged and that the same pattern will be repeated in 2023. It is crucial to note that without substantiated evidence, claims of rigging remain speculative.
2. Political Interpretation:
The lyrical nature of the ballot paper implies that it serves as a political statement rather than a factual document. Professor Moyo’s intent appears to be to draw attention to his belief that the 2018 elections were rigged in favor of President Mnangagwa and to emphasize the need for electoral reform.
However, it is crucial to consider the diverse political perspectives on this matter. Supporters of President Mnangagwa and the ruling party, ZANU-PF, may view Professor Moyo’s ballot paper as a biased attempt to influence public opinion against the incumbent government. It is worth noting that the ruling party has repeatedly denied allegations of electoral malpractice and has emphasized its commitment to free and fair elections.
Conclusion:
Analyzing the accuracy of Professor Jonathan Moyo’s lyrical 2023 ballot paper, which places Nelson Chamisa at number 11 and President Emmerson Mnangagwa at number 1, requires a careful examination of both factual accuracy and political interpretation. While Professor Moyo played a significant role in exposing the alleged rigging of the 2018 elections, the accuracy of his ballot paper remains speculative without concrete evidence.
To foster a transparent and inclusive democratic process, it is crucial to ensure fair electoral practices and allow independent observers to verify the credibility of elections. Zimbabwe’s electoral system should be subject to scrutiny, and any claims of irregularities should be thoroughly investigated and addressed through proper channels. Only then can the electorate have confidence in the integrity of the electoral process and the results it produces.
By A Correspondent| Presidential candidate Joseph Makamba Busha has been accused of appearing on nomination day as part of a Zanu PF scheme to deprive Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Nelson Chamisa of the first position on the ballot paper.
Busha leads the FreeZim Congress and successfully filed his nomination papers to contest in the 23 August presidential election results.
Based on the names of candidates who filed their nomination papers, Busha will once again be the first name on the ballot paper followed by Chamisa as was the case in 2018.
It looks like Busha J appears just on nomination & is just participating for @nelsonchamisa not to appear number one on the *Ballot Paper* In 2018 Busha was on number 1 on Ballot paper again. Nonetheless its a political right to stand & be voted into office provided in the human rights instruments,” said Roseline Hanzi.
This was also said by journalist Stanley Gama who questioned Busha’s sincerity accusing the top businessman of only appearing on the ballot paper to make sure Chamisa is not the first.
“This Busha guy is he genuine? His mission seems to be only appearing on the ballot paper as a Presidential candidate only to make sure that @nelsonchamisa name doesn’t come first on the list. It’s clearly a deliberate operation. Who will vote for this clown surely?,” said Gama.
Analyzing the mistakes OceanGate made that led to the vessel’s disappearance, critics told reporters Thursday that the submersible should have been tested with poorer passengers first.
“The company skipped the very crucial step of sending five lower-class people to the bottom of the ocean to make sure it was safe enough for the wealthy,” said Otto Scofield, a member of the Marine Technology Society, adding that no one with a net worth above $50,000 should have been in the submersible.
“OceanGate made the mistake of not using minimum wage workers and unemployed people on government welfare programs to test the seaworthiness of the craft, which was not billionaire-ready.
Running more trials with some homeless people would have made all the difference, and the deaths of several wealthy people could have been prevented.”
Scofield continued that using children of color from impoverished families would have been ideal as more would have been able to fit inside the submersible.
THE opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party has accused Zanu PF of causing confusion in the nomination process in which it ended up fielding double and in some cases triple nominations across the country.
Addressing a Press conference in Harare late yesterday, CCC spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere said Zanu PF forged signatures on nomination papers to cause chaos after it failed to penetrate the party’s systems.
“Zanu PF failed to penetrate our systems and what did they do, they went and forged our signatures and created 20 odd double candidates that you see across the country for National Assembly and a number of them in wards across the country,” she said.
Mahere said they discovered double nominations in 20 provinces and the matter had since been reported to the police, and an appeal with the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (Zec) had also been filed.
“We have filed objections in terms of the Electoral Act to people whose names appear as our candidates and were not signed for by us. The second issue is (that) criminal reports have been made to the police in Masvingo and other constituencies because this is a fraud, it’s criminal,” Mahere said.
“In some cases, we have a candidate who says well my money was paid and papers filed but not by me, I don’t know who filed these, there is someone clearly behind that,” she said.
Mahere said they would be going to court since they had sufficient evidence to prove there was fraud because the forms of those involved in double nomination had dubious logos and wrong signatures.
Meanwhile, Zanu PF has distanced itself from the chaos in the CCC saying it was satisfied with its own nomination process and was expecting victory in the August 23 polls.
Self-exiled former Zanu PF political commissar and Cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere, who has joined the presidential race for the August 23 harmonised elections yesterday said President Emmerson Mnangagwa must not weaponise institutions against opponents.
Kasukuwere, who was hounded out of the country during the November 2017 military coup that toppled the late former President Robert Mugabe, is in South Africa.
In his “roadmap to a better Zimbabwe” address in South Africa yesterday, Kasukuwere said he entered the presidential race knowing that it was never going to be easy because he believed in the cause.
“We trust that now we are in an election period you (Mnangagwa) can’t weaponise institutions against your opponents. I am sure this is an election that everyone wants to proceed smoothly so that the outcome is not contested.
“We have to take security issues into consideration, you don’t board the plane (as) passenger 34 and just rock up without doing some preparatory work. We did exactly that to see the reaction and very interesting results came our way,” he said.
He continued: “Yes, we were concerned and we are still very concerned (security-wise) and will be raising these issues with relevant institutions. We have our Sadc body; we have the monitoring teams that will be coming into our country. It’s important that every contestant is protected, is secure.”
Kasukuwere said good treatment of opponents had a positive impact on the country’s tattered reputation and would restore Zimbabwe’s image in the international stage.
“So, allow our country to be back on the international stage and we the participants and contestants are all able to say this was a good election, we had a good fight, but at the end of the day we are still brothers and sisters.”
“After counting (the votes), and somebody has emerged (the winner) and we know we will be emerging very strong, then you can start arresting others if you want to arrest others, but the game is not about arresting people, let’s go to the ground and campaign. Let’s tell the people what we can do or that we can’t do.”
Kasukuwere said he would be in the country soon for his campaign launch.
Kasukuwere said the country was at a decisive moment as it was contesting degeneration and elite capture of the State and regression to the past.
“Post-2017, November, together we all gave the new dispensation the leadership space to govern, the leadership space to unite our people, the leadership space to provide a new vision and direction for our great country.
“In his 2018 campaign, Emmerson Mnangagwa promised to deliver healthcare for all, the answer is failure, he promised to create jobs for the youth, I am not sure if any one young person has been able to get employed in the past five years, he failed.”
Kasukuwere said Mnangagwa has failed to deliver on all his electoral promises as evidenced by the collapse in infrastructure and public health service.

The Enigmatic Repetition of “Peace” by Emmerson Mnangagwa: Examining its True Meaning during the 2023 Elections
By Baba Jukwa | ZimEye | Emmerson Mnangagwa, the President of ZANU PF, has caught the attention of many with his recurring emphasis on the word “peace” during the 2023 elections. This repetition brings to mind his similar rhetoric prior to the 2018 polls, prompting a critical examination of whether his calls for peace hold genuine intent or conceal ulterior motives. In this article, we delve into the motivations behind Mnangagwa’s repeated insistence on “peace” and explore the potential complexities that lie beneath this seemingly simple message.
The 2018 Elections: Setting the Context:
To comprehend the significance of Mnangagwa’s repetitive use of “peace,” it is crucial to revisit the political climate surrounding the 2018 elections. During that period, Zimbabwe was undergoing a historic transition, with Mnangagwa assuming power following the resignation of long-time leader Robert Mugabe. Mnangagwa’s promises of reform, national reconciliation, and a peaceful future resonated with a nation exhausted by political instability and economic turmoil.
The Role of Mnangagwa’s Pre-Election “Peace” Rhetoric:
In the run-up to the 2018 polls, Mnangagwa’s emphasis on “peace” served multiple purposes. Firstly, it sought to distance himself from the Mugabe era, projecting an image of a leader committed to a peaceful and prosperous Zimbabwe. Secondly, it aimed to garner international support by assuring the global community of his dedication to stability and non-violence. Lastly, it aimed to pacify and reassure the Zimbabwean populace, creating an atmosphere of calm and unity amidst political uncertainties.
The Reappearance of “Peace” in 2023:
Fast forward to the 2023 elections, and Mnangagwa once again resorts to his repetitive use of “peace.” However, skepticism now arises, as some question whether the President’s proclamations of peace are mere political rhetoric or a genuine commitment to fostering harmony within the nation.
Possible Interpretations:
1. Image Restoration:
One interpretation is that Mnangagwa’s repeated emphasis on “peace” is an attempt to restore his tarnished image and rebuild trust with both domestic and international observers. By promoting an image of peace, he may seek to counter criticisms of his government’s handling of protests, human rights violations, and electoral irregularities.
2. Political Calculations:
Another perspective posits that Mnangagwa’s peace rhetoric is a calculated move to consolidate power. By projecting an image of stability and non-violence, he aims to prevent any potential uprising or opposition, ensuring his continued rule and control over the country.
3. Genuine Intent:
It is essential to consider the possibility that Mnangagwa’s repetition of “peace” stems from a genuine desire to foster harmony and stability within Zimbabwe. While critics argue that his actions do not align with his words, proponents suggest that he might be striving to achieve true peace but faces significant challenges in implementing it.
Conclusion:
Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recurring emphasis on “peace” during the 2023 elections undoubtedly raises eyebrows and invites scrutiny. While skeptics question the sincerity of his intentions, it is crucial to recognize the multiple interpretations of his repeated use of the word. Whether it serves as a tool for image restoration, political calculations, or reflects a genuine commitment to peace, the true meaning behind Mnangagwa’s rhetoric remains open to interpretation. As the 2023 elections unfold and Zimbabwe progresses, time will tell if the President’s words manifest into tangible actions and pave the way for a peaceful and prosperous future.

By Noxolo Ndazi | Qoki Zindlovukazi!, a name that was synonymous with women empowerment, community development and charity activities. Presently, the same name does not live to its status quo. It is marred by gross incompetence and fraudulent activities. It is important to note that Qoki was founded on the premise of a Community Interest Company (C.I.C) with a charitable status. Women came together to support charitable causes, pooled money together for mini projects from as little as buying each other kitchenware to solar systems etc. The vision expanded to property and recently property development, which would prove to be a gigantic challenge. As the horizon extended it necessitated a change in company formation. It was then registered in multiple names to suit the cause. The brand grew phenomenally and beyond the founders’ capabilities.
They lacked business acumen, etiquette and corporate responsibility. Qoki failed to tap into its wealth of expertise and unique blend of skills of its members, to optimise the execution of their projects. There is no profession that the writer can think of that is not found amongst the investors, legal, accounting, business, project management, civil engineering just to mention a few relevant ones. Sadly, the projects were personalised to the detriment of success, self sabotage in its purest form.
Furthermore, lack of structure and binding contracts for big projects like land purchase and development led to the anarchy as investors felt they were losing control of their investment. Greed and corruption can easily takeover when there’s no accountability and when the leader of the project has too much power. It is important to have a clear set of rules and regulations that are followed by everyone involved in the project, and to ensure that everyone is held accountable for their actions.
Additionally, it is important to have a system of checks and balances in place to ensure that no one person has too much power. This is by far the biggest problem at Qoki across all projects. Ms Sithule Tshuma and her right hand person Ms Karen Kumalo run the show without consulting the stakeholders. They make it seem as if people are buying something from them when in contrary people have pooled their funds together for whatever cause. In another example, the lawyer, Mr Zibusiso Ncube represented both the buyer and the seller in most projects thereby compromising buyers’ protection. If there had been some gatekeeping measures most problems, such as, inflated prices, could have been avoided. Purchases would not have proceeded without valid title deeds. To complicate things further there was conflict of interest with Mr Ncube’s appointment as a conveyancer for these projects by virtue of being a Qoki and Ms Tshuma’s personal lawyer. The ladies were left vulnerable despite paying lawyer’s fees.
Mr Ncube is quoted below: “Whilst I’m engaged to attend to the transfer of the property and paid for that, I will not be engaged in entertaining other correspondence outside the group unless I am paid by the individuals to do so. Remember a lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade.” Mr Z.C. Ncube.
Crowdfunded projects are communal and as such warranty a lot of transparency and an inclusive style of management. Funds are pooled from multiple sources and managed by a single entity, so accountability is prime. These funds should be managed responsibly and should be used for their intended purpose. It is important to ensure that transactions are properly documented and that any discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner. In a surprising development, Qoki Trucks project allegedly had no bank account, talk less of a proper accounting procedure. The trucks were fitted with tracking devices but only Ms Tshuma and her allies had access. Seemingly not all trips were recorded. Families of investors back in Zimbabwe would spot the truck, say in Harare, on unauthorised trips. The members would have been made to believe that there was no work for that specific truck at that particular time.
Moreover, all parties should be involved or made aware of any discrepancies. For instance, in Nondweni 2 there has been a court case dating back to March 2022 where Qoki is applying for an eviction order of the settlers that were allocated land by the government through the land reform programme. This has not been disclosed to the stakeholders to date.
The project should be managed in a way that is fair and equitable to all involved. This includes clear communication about the project’s goals, objectives, timeline, budget and progress. It also means that all stakeholders should have a say in the decision making process and it should be managed in a way that is respectful of everyone’s opinions and contributions without judgement. In most Qoki projects, the investors have to ask for progress updates. The leaders are not pro-active with reports or updates. The projects were not measurable owing to poor project management and execution. The bullying and harassment happening there is some form of compensatory behaviour triggered by lack of knowledge by the leaders. When members ask pertinent questions they are ridiculed or thrown out of the WhatsApp groups which are the main channel of communication. Invoices are posted on the groups but never receipts.
Most government or City Council bills are charged in local currency in Zimbabwe but at Qoki they are billed in US dollars on Non-government/City Council stationery. Procurement procedures are informal and incomparable to other competitors. A Bulawayo City Council (BCC) employee who acts as ‘Qoki’s integral due diligence guru’, a townplanning advisor to Qoki and is referred to as ‘Townplanner’, one Victor Masuku, allegedly does everything from, viewing land, physical planning to quantity surveying, road designing and construction. So much bias there as it is not known if applications pass on merit or by virtue of Mr Masuku being a BCC employee. Mr Masuku’s expertise in all these roles is yet to tested, so far, there has been some concerns regards the exorbitant road pricing and the quality of roads constructed by his company called Sindaku.
Stakeholders should have trust and confidence in the system. It raises so much doubt when integrity and transparency are not employed. At one instance Ms Tshuma is heard saying “we had to do what we had to do, ….too bad I can’t share here” (audio attached below), one is left wondering if she was insinuating she bribed her way through to get subdivision permits.
….
Such sinister irregularities are observed in most projects. Redacted pivotal documents like an agreement of sale; or with wrong deceased estate numbers; Court orders signed by the deputy sheriff in chambers without being advertised for fear of opposition; people signing on behalf of title holders without power of attorney. It is a myriad of gross criminal and unethical misconduct.
Cry our beloved country! in a normal economy, buying land or property should not be tedious and complex as this. Systems should be put in place and intertwined to curb corruption. Legal professionals should be vetted, monitored and expelled from the register for misconduct. The government should also put in place regulations to ensure that private sellers do not take advantage of people by selling stands at highly inflated prices.
One confounding factor that led to this authoritarian rule and concealing of information is the basis on which Qoki was formed. Qoki was a breakaway faction of Mthwakazi Queens. It was formed on betrayal and deception so the domino effect is constantly perceived, as the saying goes ‘history repeats itself’. The prototype of this model was Mthwakazi Queens brainchild and its members were poached from them by Qoki founders hence the delusional imaginary ‘soft coup’ the exiters are accused of. To be quite frank nobody in their right minds would touch Qoki projects with a ten foot pole. The guilty are always afraid.
Man Sentenced to Community Service and Fine for Causing Traffic Jam and Disorderly Conduct
By Farai D Hove | In a recent incident that caused a small traffic scene in Harare’s Avenues area, a man who heroically parked his vehicle at an intersection and started beating a drum has been sentenced to 140 hours of community service and a US$200 fine by Harare magistrate Mr Simon Kandiyero. The sentence was delivered after the magistrate received two psychiatric reports on Itayi Uthant Makombe, aged 51, from two different doctors, who concluded that he was capable of comprehending his actions.
Makombe had previously pleaded guilty to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and disorderly conduct during his initial court appearance. Initially, Mr Kandiyero sentenced Makombe to six months in prison, suspending two months on the condition of good behavior. The remaining four months were suspended on the condition that Makombe performs 140 hours of community service at ZRP Chinhoyi, starting immediately.
Expressing his disapproval of Makombe’s disorderly behavior, Magistrate Kandiyero highlighted the upcoming elections and emphasized that the court cannot tolerate such actions. He suggested that given the current political climate, Makombe’s behavior might be considered political in nature.
Regarding the charge of unlawful possession of a firearm, Makombe was ordered to pay a US$200 fine or face two months in jail. The court was informed by the prosecution that on June 5, at approximately 6 am, Makombe parked his Land Rover Defender at the intersection of Josiah Tongogara Avenue and Sam Nujoma Street in Harare. He then exited the vehicle, climbed onto the back, and sat on a folding chair while covering himself with a blanket.
Eyewitnesses reported that Makombe began playing an African drum and shouting in the Shona language, proclaiming, “Ambuya Nehanda vamuka, ropa zhinji rakadeuka uye richiri kudeuka,” which translates to “Nehanda has resurrected, a lot of blood has been spilt and is still spilling.”
Responding to the disturbance, two police officers arrived at the scene and instructed Makombe to move his vehicle from the intersection. However, when Makombe refused to comply, the police were forced to use minimal force to remove him from the vehicle and subsequently arrested him.
On a separate count, police received information on June 6 that Makombe was in possession of a firearm without a valid certificate. Acting on this information, the police accompanied Makombe to his residence, where they discovered a black CZ pistol with a magazine containing 9 by 7.65 mm caliber rounds, concealed in a bag. It was revealed that the firearm certificate had expired on March 1 the previous year, and Makombe had failed to renew it within the designated timeframe.
In mitigation, Makombe’s lawyer stated that his client had committed the offense while in a state of depression and under the influence of alcohol.
While the court acknowledged Makombe’s mental state and the influence of alcohol during the incident, it upheld the gravity of his actions and the disruption caused to the public. By imposing community service and a fine, the court aims to hold Makombe accountable for his behavior while providing an opportunity for rehabilitation and reintegration into society.
The sentence serves as a reminder that public disorder and unlawful possession of firearms will not be tolerated, particularly in a sensitive period leading up to elections. It underscores the importance of upholding law and order and ensuring the safety and well-being of the public at large.
PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa says legal practitioners have a duty to entrench unity and a culture of non-violence as the country approaches general elections slated for the 23rd of August this year.
He was speaking at the Silver Jubilee Celebrations and unveiling of Dube, Manikai and Hwacha (DMH) law firm’s new offices in Harare this Wednesday.
The President was Guest of Honour at the event in Harare’s Alexandra Park, which also coincided with the law firm’s Silver Jubilee celebrations.
The President took the opportunity to challenge the citizenry to denounce and shun any form of economic sabotage.
“Our country’s general elections to be held on the 23rd of August 2023 are fast approaching. Legal practitioners are invited to be part of the national crusade preaching and practicing peace. You also have a duty to entrench unity and a culture of non-violence, before, during and after the elections, the people of Zimbabwe no less from you. It is incumbent on all of us to denounce the economic sabotage, hybrid asymmetrical attack on our country’s independence and national interest.
“On its part, my administration will continue to put in place responsive measures to promote sustainable growth of our economy, increased investments, production and productivity towards the realisation of development that leaves no one and no place behind,” he said.
President Mnangagwa said legal practitioners must complement government efforts in the fight against corruption and ensure a corrupt-free legal fraternity.
“Under the Second Republic, justice delivery, a patriotic, independent and corrupt free legal fraternity is core to our quest of entrenching constitutionalism, good governance, democracy and the rule of law. To this end, I call upon legal practitioners to ensure that services offered are available and accessible towards lifting more of our people to a higher quality of life and out of poverty into prosperity.
“Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo, Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo. Equally I also urge you as lawyers, you join the national effort to expose and fight corruption. You must be at the forefront of demonstrating the core tenets of ethic driven leadership, mindsets and actions along with accountability and integrity,” he added.
The President also commended DMH Law Chambers for demonstrating unity of purpose and delivering quality legal services.
“It is most gratifying that, leveraging and pulling the various competencies, skills and experiences, the partners are working together and demonstrating commitment to continuously building a strong and sustainable DMH brand, you have become a model institution. Further, your unity of purpose, which harness the diverse strengths of partners, for delivering quality services has seen you leaving an indelible footprint in our country’s legal landscape,” highlighted the President.
Established in 1998 with only four partners, Dube, Manikai and Hwacha law firm has grown over the years and now boasts of nine partners, two associate partners, four senior associates, one candidate attorney and several associates.
Citizens in Namibia have the conviction that vote rigging commenced with the arbitrary arrest and illegal conviction of Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala in June 2022. It is unbelievable that ZANU-PF has successfully exploited the captured judiciary to deny Wiwa his right to represent Zengeza West in the forthcoming harmonized elections scheduled on the 23rd of August 2023. Not only the right to represent was infringed but also the fundamental right to be represented, specifically affecting the innocent residents of Zengeza West.
Social Democrats in Namibia are convinced that vote rigging does not transpire on voting day since it is a long and tedious process. We have seen the weaponization of the law by the clueless regime since 2020 when they deliberately surrendered the People’s Party to their surrogate Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora through the March Corona Supreme Court judgment. The unconstitutional arrest of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala was a sure way to deny him the right to participate in the impending elections in August.
Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala has endured more than 365 days caged in the hell hole of Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison on concocted charges. The only crime was his valor, mettle, and nerve to confront ZANU-PF following the enforced disappearance and abduction of the late Moreblessing Ali who was gruesomely murdered by Pius Jamba Mukandi in Nyatsime for her politics. Today, Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is unable to take part in the nomination process because of this long pretrial detention since the 14th of June 2022.
This is a clear indicator that ZANU-PF is not ready to promote free, fair, credible, and unfettered elections in Zimbabwe. Locking the vibrant Sikhala in prison is rigging on its own. The people of Zengeza West were rigged in advance, they were orphaned since last year to date because their leader was instrumental in demanding justice, freedom, and equality. It is quite pathetic that the deceased Moreblessing Ali is not yet buried since May last year. The continued incarceration of Hon Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala is the only reason why Moreblessing Ali is still in the mortuary.
We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala. Without Wiwa, there will be no credible elections. Job Sikhala is a political prisoner who is in jail for his vibrancy and organic approach to the national democratic struggle. Zec and ZANU-PF must respect the rule of law and constitutionalism. The closure of the democratic space in the motherland is the epitome of authoritarianism in the Harare regime.
Namibia district has watched with great fury the arbitrary arrests and illegal convictions of nominated CCC candidates across the breadth and lengths of Zimbabwe on trumped-up charges. The unconstitutional arrests and violence unleashed on the change champions depict the unwillingness of ZANU-PF to conduct peaceful elections. We demand the release of the jailed ZINASU six, who are political prisoners. Jacob Ngarivhume is also a prisoner of conscience suffering because he simply tweeted urging citizens to take part in an anti-corruption demonstration scheduled on the 31st of July 2020. The right to protest and petition is enshrined in the Supreme Law of the country!
In a nutshell, CCC Namibia would like to wish all nominated candidates good luck ahead of the 23rd of August 2023. Victory is certain with participatory democracy. Let’s vote big! Win big! And Defend big. We urge unsuccessful candidates to swallow their pride and back those who are going to represent the political behemoth(CCC) on the 23rd of August. There is no need to be greedy! There is no need to opt for the belly politics of self-aggrandizement, ours is a fight for equality, freedom, and justice.
We shall dedicate our sweet victory to Job Saro Wiwa Sikhala, the ZINASU six, and all political prisoners who are languishing in filthy prisons for defending the universal basic human rights in Zimbabwe. After nomination, our task is to focus on the massive recruitment and training of polling agents.
By Dorrothy Moyo | Robert Chapman, a US-based diasporan who claimed to have successfully submitted his nomination papers for the upcoming 2023 elections in Zimbabwe, has been dropped from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s (ZEC) database. This revelation was confirmed by ZEC’s deputy chairperson, Ambassador Rodney Kiwa, in an interview with Zimpapers Television Network (ZTN Prime) last night.
Chapman’s removal from the database means that only 11 candidates have managed to file their nomination papers to contest in the presidential election, which is scheduled to take place on August 23 as part of Zimbabwe’s harmonized elections.
The 11 candidates who successfully submitted their nomination papers include the incumbent President, Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU PF). Other candidates include Joseph Makamba Busha of the Free Zim Congress, Nelson Chamisa of the CCC, Trust Chikohora of the Zimbabwe Citizens’ Party for Democracy (ZCPD), and Blessing Kasiyamhuru of the Zimbabwe Partnership for Prosperity (ZIPP).
Additionally, there are independent candidate Saviour Kasukuwere, Professor Lovemore Madhuku of the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA), Wilbert Mubaiwa of the National People’s Convention (NPC), Gwinyai Henry Muzorewa of the United African National Council (UANC), Douglas Mwonzora of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), and Wilson Harry Peter of the Democratic Opposition Party (DOP).
The Nomination Courts, which were held on Wednesday, provided the opportunity for candidates to file their nomination papers. While ZANU PF managed to file applications for all its candidates, other political parties faced various challenges that prevented them from doing so. Consequently, the ruling party won 53 council seats unopposed.
The exclusion of Robert Chapman from the ZEC’s database raises questions about the validity of his claim to have successfully submitted his nomination papers. The reasons for his removal from the database have not been officially disclosed at this time.
Zimbabwe’s upcoming harmonized elections are highly anticipated, as they will determine the country’s political landscape for the coming years. With a reduced number of candidates in the presidential race, the electoral process may face scrutiny regarding its fairness and inclusivity. As the campaign period unfolds, it remains to be seen how these developments will shape the political dynamics in Zimbabwe.

By Divine Mafa | The following is a critical analysis, line by line, of the proposed Patriots Bill of Zimbabwe:
Section 1: This section defines the purpose of the bill, which is to “protect the sovereignty and national interest of Zimbabwe.”
This is a broad and vague definition that could be interpreted in many ways. It is unclear what the bill’s authors mean by “sovereignty” and “national interest.” This could lead to the bill being used to stifle dissent and criticism of the government.
Section 2: This section lists the activities that would be criminalized under the bill, including “criticizing the government or its officials,” “promoting economic sanctions against Zimbabwe,” and “engaging in activities that are deemed to be ‘subversive’ or ‘detrimental to the interests of Zimbabwe.'”
This section is particularly concerning because it criminalizes a wide range of activities that are essential to a free and democratic society. Criticizing the government or its officials is a fundamental right that is protected by international law. Promoting economic sanctions against Zimbabwe is also a legitimate form of political expression. And engaging in activities that are deemed to be “subversive” or “detrimental to the interests of Zimbabwe” is a subjective standard that could be used to target anyone who disagrees with the government.
Section 3: This section sets out the penalties for violating the bill, which include imprisonment for up to 20 years.
The penalties for violating the bill are extremely harsh. Imprisonment for up to 20 years is a serious punishment that could be used to silence dissent and discourage people from exercising their fundamental rights.
Section 4: This section sets out the procedures for enforcing the bill, which would be overseen by the government’s National Prosecuting Authority.
The fact that the bill would be enforced by the government’s National Prosecuting Authority is a cause for concern. This agency is controlled by the government, and it is possible that it would be used to target political opponents and critics of the government.
Overall, the proposed Patriots Bill of Zimbabwe is a dangerous and repressive piece of legislation that would stifle freedom of expression and political dissent. The bill should not be signed into law.

-Bulawayo Court Delivers a Harsh Sentence to Deter Potential Offenders
In a deeply disturbing case that has sent shockwaves through the community, a 19-year-old man from Bulawayo has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for engaging in anal sex with a four-year-old boy. The accused, Godfrey Moyo, pleaded guilty to the charge of aggravated indecent assault, but his explanation for his actions left the court stunned. Moyo claimed that evil spirits had influenced him to commit this abhorrent offense. The Bulawayo regional magistrate, Dambudzo Malunga, handed down a severe sentence, considering the gravity of the crime and the need to protect vulnerable children.
The Court’s Verdict:
Appearing before the court, Godfrey Moyo admitted to the charges brought against him and expressed his remorse. However, it was his assertion that he was driven by evil spirits that startled the magistrate and those present. Moyo’s guilty plea led to a 10-year prison sentence, with four years suspended for five years on the condition of good behavior. Ultimately, he will serve an effective six years in prison.
The Court’s Perspective:
Magistrate Dambudzo Malunga likened Moyo’s offense to rape, emphasizing the severe impact such acts have on victims. The age difference between the accused and the young victim further exacerbated the seriousness of the crime. The court recognized that the trauma inflicted upon the child would be long-lasting, highlighting the need for a strict and deterrent sentence. While considering Moyo’s youth and possible immaturity as mitigating factors, the magistrate emphasized the gravity of the offense and the importance of protecting vulnerable children.
The Disturbing Incident:
According to the court proceedings, the victim’s mother entrusted her four-year-old son to Godfrey Moyo’s care while she briefly left for Umguza. During this time, Moyo committed the heinous act of engaging in anal sex with the defenseless child. Upon the mother’s return, the child courageously disclosed the entire ordeal to her, prompting her to report the matter to the police. The subsequent investigation led to Moyo’s arrest, and a medical report presented in court confirmed that the child had indeed been subjected to sodomy.
Safeguarding Children and Seeking Justice:
This distressing case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of safeguarding children and ensuring their protection from any form of abuse. The legal system must act decisively to bring perpetrators to justice and send a strong message of deterrence to potential offenders. It is crucial for communities to be vigilant and report any suspicious or alarming behavior concerning the welfare of children.
Conclusion:
The case of Godfrey Moyo, a 19-year-old man from Bulawayo who received a 10-year prison sentence for sexually assaulting a four-year-old boy, has shocked the community and ignited a discussion on the protection of vulnerable children. The accused’s claim that he was influenced by evil spirits highlights the complexities surrounding such crimes and the need for society to address the root causes of such behavior. The court’s stern verdict aims to deter would-be offenders and protect innocent children from future harm.
Around 1 in 6 people 60 years and older experienced some form of abuse in community settings during the past year. Rates of abuse of older people are high in institutions such as nursing homes and long-term care facilities, with 2 in 3 staff reporting that they have committed abuse in the past year. Rates of abuse of older people have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. Abuse of older people can lead to serious physical injuries and long-term psychological consequences. Abuse of older people is predicted to increase as many countries are experiencing rapidly ageing populations. The global population of people aged 60 years and older will more than double, from 900 million in 2015 to about 2 billion in 2050. Overview
The abuse of older people, also known as elder abuse, is a single or repeated act, or lack of appropriate action, occurring within any relationship where there is an expectation of trust, which causes harm or distress to an older person. This type of violence constitutes a violation of human rights and includes physical, sexual, psychological and emotional abuse; financial and material abuse; abandonment; neglect; and serious loss of dignity and respect.
Scope of the problem Abuse of older people is an important public health problem. A 2017 review of 52 studies in 28 countries from diverse regions estimated that over the past year 1 in 6 people (15.7%) aged 60 years and older were subjected to some form of abuse (1). Although rigorous data are limited, the review provides prevalence estimates of the proportion of older people affected by different types of abuse.
Data on the extent of the problem in institutions such as hospitals, nursing homes and other long-term care facilities are scarce. However, a review of recent studies on abuse of older people in institutional settings (2) indicates that 64.2% of staff reported perpetrating some form of abuse in the past year.
Emerging evidence indicates that the prevalence of abuse of older people in both the community and in institutions have increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. A US study, for instance, suggests that rates in the community may have increased by as much as 84% (3).
Abuse of older people in community settings Abuse of older people in institutional settings Globally, the number of cases of elder abuse is projected to increase as many countries have rapidly ageing populations. Even if the proportion of victims of abuse of older people remains constant, the global number of victims will increase rapidly due to population ageing, growing to some 320 million victims by 2050, as the global population of people aged 60 years and more increases to 2 billion by 2050.
Consequences Abuse of older people can have serious physical and mental health, financial, and social consequences, including, for instance, physical injuries, premature mortality, depression, cognitive decline, financial devastation and placement in nursing homes. For older people, the consequences of abuse can be especially serious and recovery may take longer (4).
Risk factors Individual level characteristics which increase the risk of becoming a victim of abuse include functional dependence/disability, poor physical health, cognitive impairment, poor mental health and low income. Individual level characteristics which increase the risk of becoming a perpetrator of abuse include mental illness, substance abuse and dependency – often financial – of the abuser on the victim. At the relationship level, the type of relationship (e.g., spouse/partner or child/parent) and marital status may be associated with an elevated risk of abuse, but these factors vary by country and region. Community- and societal-level factors linked to elder abuse may include ageism against older people and certain cultural norms (e.g., normalization of violence). Social support and living alone reduce the likelihood of elder abuse (5).
Prevention Many strategies have been tried to prevent and respond to abuse of older people, but evidence for the effectiveness of most of these interventions is limited at present. Strategies considered most promising include caregiver interventions, which provide services to relieve the burden of caregiving; money management programmes for older adults vulnerable to financial exploitation; helplines and emergency shelters; and multi-disciplinary teams, as the responses required often cut across many systems, including criminal justice, health care, mental health care, adults protective services and long-term care (5).
In some countries, the health sector has taken a leading role in raising public concern about abuse of older people, while in others the social welfare sector has taken the lead. Globally, too little is known about elder abuse and how to prevent it, particularly in developing countries.
Debris from Missing Submersible Found near Titanic Wreck, Confirmed to Be from Missing Vessel, US Coast Guard Reports
By Farai D Hove | In a significant development, debris belonging to the missing submersible named “Titan” has been discovered near the wreckage of the ill-fated Titanic, according to a confirmation by the United States Coast Guard. The finding has raised concerns about the fate of the crew members and intensified the search efforts.
Rear Admiral John Mauger, who is leading the search operation for the Titan, announced the discovery and expressed deep concern for the crew members and their families. “The debris is consistent with a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber. Upon this determination, we immediately notified the families,” Rear Admiral Mauger stated, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
The Titan, a state-of-the-art submersible equipped for deep-sea exploration, vanished without a trace on June 10, 2023, during a routine dive near the North Atlantic. The submersible was manned by a crew of five experienced divers, led by Captain Robert Thompson, a highly regarded expert in underwater exploration.
The recovery of debris near the Titanic wreckage has provided the first tangible evidence in the ongoing search for the missing vessel. The specific details regarding the nature and condition of the debris have not been disclosed, as investigators are meticulously analyzing the recovered items for further clues about the circumstances surrounding the loss of the pressure chamber.
The discovery of the debris near the Titanic has prompted the US Coast Guard to deploy additional resources and vessels to the area, intensifying the search efforts for the Titan and its crew. Specialized equipment, including remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), sonar scanners, and underwater cameras, are being employed to conduct a thorough search of the surrounding area.
Family members of the missing crew have been notified of the recent developments and are being provided with support and assistance during this difficult time. The waiting and uncertainty have been incredibly challenging for them, and the confirmation of debris from the missing vessel has only heightened their anxiety and concern.
Numerous maritime experts and investigators have joined forces with the US Coast Guard in an attempt to piece together the events leading up to the disappearance of the Titan. The focus remains on determining the cause of the catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber and the potential factors that contributed to the incident.
The Titan was renowned for its cutting-edge technology and robust safety protocols, making its disappearance all the more baffling. With the recovery of debris near the Titanic wreckage, experts hope to gather crucial information that could shed light on the fate of the missing submersible and its crew.
As the search and investigation continue, the global maritime community remains captivated by the unfolding events. The mystery surrounding the Titan’s disappearance and the recovery of debris near such a historic site like the Titanic has only deepened the intrigue, while emphasizing the inherent risks associated with deep-sea exploration.
The US Coast Guard, along with international partners, remains committed to unraveling the truth behind the missing submersible and providing closure to the families of the crew members. Efforts are underway to analyze the recovered debris thoroughly and utilize every available resource to locate the Titan and hopefully bring the crew back safely.
The coming days will be crucial in piecing together the puzzle of the Titan’s disappearance and providing answers to the questions that have gripped the world.- ZimEye

The overriding mission of ZEC is to be as accommodative and inclusive as possible to enable Zimbabwean voters to exercise their cherished democratic rights.

By- The Douglas Mwonzora-led Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T) has failed to field candidates in all constituencies in Zimbabwe due to the party’s financial troubles.
The party’s information and publicity secretary, Witness Dube, told Voice of America (VOA) Studio 7 in an interview that they were unable to pay nomination fees for all their candidates across the country by the close of the Nomination Court. Dube could not provide further details and referred the press to the party’s president, Mwonzora. He said:
We failed to pay nomination fees for all our candidates across the country by close of the Nomination Court. Please get details from the president.
The party’s secretary general, Tapiwa Mashakada, issued a statement to all MDC-T provinces, advising all candidates to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Read the statement:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, all candidates are now advised to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Further communication will be issued regarding the legal status of their nomination papers in view of non-payment. Any inconvenience suffered is most sincerely regretted.
Mwonzora had previously indicated that they were ready for the council, parliamentary, and presidential elections.
Meanwhile, ZANU PF and Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), bitter rivals, have successfully filed their nomination papers at the High Court for the upcoming harmonised elections on August 23.
By- The Nelson Chamisa-led opposition, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party, has approached the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to seek clarification regarding a situation of name similarity.
This was after it was discovered that a person named Chitembe David from Harare East Constituency had registered to contest in the Parliamentary elections as a candidate for a political party named Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC), which bears a resemblance to the CCC party.
The party inquired if the CCCC party exists and how it was possible for someone to register with a political party that has a name identical to theirs. The CCC has also expressed curiosity about the use of similar symbols by various political parties and requested ZEC to clarify this issue to the citizens. In an open letter seen by Pindula News, the CCC led by Nelson Chamisa said:
Dear @ZECzim,
We wanted to inquire whether there exists a political party by the name of Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC). We are curious about the electoral law with regard to the use of similar symbols by various parties. We are wondering how someone was registered with a political party that is identical to our party, CCC. Could you kindly clarify this to the citizens?
Over the years, Zimbabwe’s political landscape has been marked by instances of name similarity among political parties. Examples include the MDC-T party led by Thokozani Khupe, which was accused in 2018 of using a symbol similar to that of the MDC Alliance party then led by Nelson Chamisa. Other examples include Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) formations such as MDC T, MDC M, MDC
Alliance, MDC 99 as well as the ZANU Ndonga, PF ZAPU, ZANU PF, ZIM PF, Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), Citizens Collaboration for Change (CCC), Citizens Convergence for Change (CCC), and Changu Chimuti Chakapinda Chapinda (CCCC).
Political analysts believe that this situation can lead to voter confusion and raise concerns about the credibility of the electoral process. They argue that this is caused by the absence of eligibility tests for political parties, therefore, having a central registry where parties can register and deposit their names, symbols, colours, and logos would help prevent conflicts and enable voters to make informed choices.
In business you invest with the aim of making profit long term and sustainable. Inorder to do that just make a small informal business by listing what you need with exact value don’t forget to include monitoring expenses identify a claim close to you or never invest . If you are still tempted to invest far increase scope of investment so that all you will be able to all final production activities month end . 2 nothing can replace your presence Gold is a currency that can be used without any purification or processing and around Zimbabwe you find gold nuggets of 5points upto 10kg your absence means you won’t be able to see it or account for production done using your own money. Be there from day one study everything learn all risks and rewards.
Your kids , wife and relatives are not you they can steal from you infact most gold related theft or lack of accountability is orchestrated by related especially the son or daughter in most cases l have come across.
Besides stealing they usually unknowingly disturb or sabotage production in the name of relative. All gold production ends are guarded by mine owner , sponsors or investors and workers nothing is left to chance.
3 avoid overspending on monitoring Avoid driving up and down to the mine in the name of monitoring because it’s useless and unnecessary unless you spend atleast 6hrs of day time at the mine use public transport and avoid hiring transport for transactions that don’t need a car .
If you want to use a car increase your investment scope to accommodate the car .when ever gold pays you handsomely remember they are dark days ahead plan wisely and create proper backup.
By A Correspondent| In a recent development, Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has brought to light a covert operation orchestrated by Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ), a group aligned with the ruling Zanu PF party to cause confusion in the movement.
The operation resulted in ZEC announcing double candidates for CCC in some constituencies.
Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said CCC representatives visited the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to scrutinize the list of candidates purportedly submitted by their party.
To their dismay, they discovered that a number of individuals had utilized forged signatures and even resorted to photocopying the CCC logo in order to file their nomination papers.
“A HUGE SCAM – MANUFACTURED CCC DOUBLE CANDIDATES..Our teams have just been to ZEC to inspect the submitted nominations. It’s clear that the so called ‘double candidates’ forged signatures and the CCC logo. Our CCC logo is embossed and not a photocopy as is the case with the ‘double candidates’. In addition, those nominations were not countersigned for by the designated officials of CCC. It’s clearly a sting operation! We will explore the remedies available at law which enjoin ZEC to resolve this matter. We are pursuing this remedy with immediacy and urgency necessary,” said Chamisa.
THE Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) on Wednesday dismissed as false, reports in some online publications that it had lost tax records dating back to six years ago.
In a statement, Zimra said the story, whose headline read: “Zimra Loses Tax Records Dating Back to six years ago” published by the NewsHub and also carried by Pindula, was misleading as the authority has not experienced a system crash or hacking of any of its servers.
“The request for information from clients is for the purposes of updating taxpayer records since clients sometimes change physical addresses, email addresses, public officers, contact details, tax accountants as well as where there is missing information.
“Zimra is working on migrating client data onto their new Tax and Revenue Management System (TaRMS), which will be more efficient and will simplify business processes through the use of automation,” read part of the statement.
The authority encouraged all taxpayers to update their master data information for effective communication.
By A Correspondent | EDITORIAL | Contrary to social media spats, the Citizen Coalition For Change party, CCC, did not fail to field candidates for the 2023 elections, it only suffered slight ward gaps, ZimEye reveals. This is so although
– there are no gaps at all regarding MP candidates. All MP posts were fielded by Nelson Chamisa’s CCC.
– there are no gaps at all at presidential level. The leader successfully submitted his nomination papers.
– Only a few wards were missed by the CCC and they include those listed at the bottom of this article
– the unfielding of a few wards is the product of ZEC tampering, being the shifting of electoral boundaries, intimidation, and the illegal charging of fees.
– the few unfielded wards do not affect the outcome
– Double candidates are a fraud which cannot happen at any time in any database, because like in banking, a single cheque (political party in this case) can never clear or appear twice on the same number. It’s impossible.
Meanwhile, the list of wards that were missed includes:
Chirumanzu constituency wards 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 16, 18, 19, 22, 23
Marondera ward 9
Chegutu East ward 17
Gwanda urban ward 1 & 2
Mhondoro ward 9 & 13
Mberengwa RDC only ward one out of 37 had no candidate
Bulilima 2 wards out of 22 had no candidate
Zibagwe 7 wards had no candidates
The opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC-T), led by Douglas Mwonzora, has failed to field candidates in all constituencies amid reports that the party is broke.
In an interview with VOA Studio 7, the party’s information and publicity secretary, Witness Dube, said, “We failed to pay nomination fees for all our candidates across the country by close of the Nomination Court. Please get details from the president.”
Dube could not shed more information on this issue saying only Mwonzora is capable of answering questions being raised by the press.
In a statement to all MDC-T provinces on Wednesday evening, the party’s secretary general, Tapiwa Mashakada, said, “Due to circumstances beyond our control, all candidates are now advised to leave their forms at ZEC (Zimbabwe Electoral Commission) offices and disperse. Further communication will be issued regarding the legal status of their nomination papers in view of non-payment. Any inconvenience suffered is most sincerely regretted.”
Mwonzora indicated a few weeks ago that they were ready for the council, parliamentary and presidential election. The Nomination Court sat Wednesday. He was not responding to calls on his mobile phone.
Zimbabwe will hold harmonized elections on August 23 this year. The two bitter rivals – President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Nelson Chamisa – successfully filed their nomination papers at the High Court on Wednesday.
By A Correspondent| Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has confirmed that his party failed to field candidates in some local authority elections.
Posting on Twitter, Chamisa said they had glitches in a few wards resulting in their failure to field contestants.
Chamisa also confirmed that his party failed to field candidates in all proportional representation for local authorities.
He however confirmed that his party fielded contestants in all the 210 parliamentary seats, 60 senatorial seats, Women and Youth Quota respectively.
THANK YOU FELLOW CITIZENS !! -Fielding all 210 MPs across the country cost us $ 210 000 +30 000. We did it! -Fielding all senators, women PR, Youth quota and almost all PR council lists. -Fielding in almost all 1970 wards except a few where we had glitches. All glory be to God!…
CCC has blamed a shadowy Zanu PF aligned Forever Associate of Zimbabwe (FAZ) for forging signatures resulting in double candidates in some constituencies.
Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) President Nelson Chamisa has played down concerns over Biti’s looming absence from the next parliament.
Biti failed to make the cut for the next parliament candidates.
Addressing journalists soon after visiting the High Court building to confirm his own nomination – filed a day before – Chamisa allayed fears of a festering fall-out with his deputy Tendai Biti in the wake of the latter’s failed bid to defend his Harare East seat during party processes to find candidates for the August 23 election.
Chamisa was accompanied by Biti in an apparent show of unity with his top aide.
President Mnangagwa’s fiercest challenger, who was in a buoyant mood, affirmed his bid to challenge for the country’s top job as he played down concerns over Biti’s looming absence from the next parliament.
Chamisa said his envisaged government had bigger plans for the founding MDC legislator and former finance minister.
The 45-year-old presidential challenger said his party’s eyes were more focused on clinching the national presidency, which has been an elusive target for the country’s most formidable party, formed as MDC in 1999.
“Our focus is not to be in parliament but to be in government,” he said.
“We have been in parliament for a long time; that is not our station of choice at the moment.
“Our station of choice is in government. So, you will see Mr Biti in government.
“He is going to play a pivotal role in the campaign that we are going to be waging very soon because he is part of that government and that is what we are offering to Zimbabweans.”
Chamisa added, “Parliament is going to be there; we already have people deployed there but there are others that are beyond parliament.
“They are in government, and they must play that role in government. So, you will see a strong team, you will see a formidable team, you will see the future of Zimbabwe and it is here.”
ZANU PF’s aspiring parliamentary candidate for Goromonzoi South constituency Tinashe Chikonye has been accused of parcelling out State land to home-seekers in Caledonia, claiming the land was his.
Chikonye is among several party officials filing for candidature at the nomination court today.
NewsDay has gathered that several duped residents had reported the matter at Mabvuku Police Station under case numbers CR83/06/23 and CR84/06/23, but Chikonye has not yet been arrested.
“Tinashe Chikonye is a land baron who has reportedly swindled thousands of home seekers on the pretext of owning land which turns out to be State land,” said one resident who refused to be named for fear of victimisation
“We have for years approached Mabvuku police but after filing dockets have been disappearing. The allegations are that between October 2017 and early this month, Chikonye fraudulently awarded himself a total of 89 residential stands belonging to the State under UDCORP . The accused with intent to defraud the State and potential home seekers during the material time,” said another resident.
The stands in questions had reportedly been reserved for members of the security sector and civil servants evicted from Caledonia Phase 6, which has been reserved for a school.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi yesterday said he was not aware of the allegations.
Chikonye was not immediately available for comment.
‘We had no voice basically..’: Zimbabwean Director Sithule Tshuma’s Qoki Zindlovukazi SA Trucks Ltd Faces Bankruptcy Amidst serious Allegations of Fraud.
By Nancy Nhuku |
Qoki Truck business
In a grim turn of events, Qoki Zindlovukazi Trucks, a project directed by a Zimbabwean self claimed Women Empowerment Founder, Sithule Tshuma, is on the brink of bankruptcy. The project, which operates in South Africa, plies routes within South Africa and to Zimbabwe and D.R. Congo, has been marred by a series of controversies and alleged mismanagement. The demise of the Qoki trucking project is another dimension of a seemingly dismal drive for Qoki Zindlovukazi filled with sad life stories from various women investors. The investors had high hopes in Qoki as a Matebeleland and Midlands livelihoods alleviation initiative as advertised by its co-founder Ms Tshuma.
Qoki Truck income and trips
‘My plus R59 000.00 gone just like that,.. I hope in future, as a learning curve, better strategies will be implemented before recruiting people to investments…..’ Anonymous investor
One of the primary concerns raised by these Trucks crowd funders (meant to be shareholders), is the lack of due diligence and immature business practices exhibited by the Qoki Directors, Karen Kumalo, Nompilo Moyo and Bridget Dube. Interesting to note is that, over 3 years on, share certificates/ ownership documentation was never issued to these investors. Some critical investors argue that proper research and analysis were not conducted before venturing into South African new markets and expanding operations, leading to financial strain, stress and unsustainable growth. It is also unbelievable that a company of this stature had no bank account as exclaimed by one of the investors;
‘Just wondering how our company (Qoki Trucks) didn’t have a bank account or why the insurance was paid from “other ladies” bank accounts (project)?’ Anon.
Another prominent issue highlighted by the investors, is the alleged dictatorship within the company. Accusations suggest that decision-making power was excessively vested on Sithule Tshuma, resulting in lack of transparency and accountability. Shareholders claim that their voices were disregarded, and their concerns were not adequately addressed, contributing to the current dire situation.
‘We had no voice basically, and I feel most women were scared of being booted out if they spoke. To date no one has said a word on our Qoki WhatsApp platform since Qoki hit the news regarding fraudulent activities….’ Anon
Furthermore, Ms Tshuma and her inexperienced management team have faced severe criticism. Many shareholders contend that key positions were filled by individuals lacking the necessary expertise and industry knowledge, compounded with deception. This alleged lack of competence and understanding of market dynamics has reportedly hindered the company’s growth and profitability.
‘Some of us asked for trucks to be sold over 2 years ago before amatrucks afe (breakdown). But sasingamamelwa (we weren’t being listened to) , now that there are izikwelede (debts) we have to be affected too?’anon
Accounting irregularities, have also been projected, adding to the mounting troubles for Qoki. Concerns have been raised regarding financial mismanagement, questionable financial reporting, and a lack of adherence to basic accounting standards. These allegations have further eroded investor confidence across all other Qoki projects, thereby raising doubts about the company’s overall financial health and integrity. This warranties a financial audit by an independent body or an ombudsman as it is gross.
Additionally, Qoki Trucks investors, have expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of shared dividends.
‘We injected over R1,5 million as capital, to date Sithule continues to show no interest, busy with 100 other projects which will also fail like ours’ said one investor.
Despite the company’s financial struggles, investors claim that they have not received any returns on their investments, exacerbating their financial losses. This situation has left many shareholders disillusioned and seeking legal remedies to protect their interests. Ironically, the management allegedly seems to be acquiring assets for themselves and their families and now drive luxury cars and living in mansions. The bankruptcy becomes more apparent amidst Qoki’s turmoil of events following fraudulent allegations, as shown on table below;
Qoki’s irregularities also come at a difficult moment following a major Bulawayo High court trial loss on Ms Tshuma vs Dumi matter. The impact on investors is severe. Qoki Trucks investors comprises mostly of vulnerable women working menial jobs in South Africa.
‘I think it’s important that when things are done where everyone contributed everyone’s opinion is taken into consideration…..’.
Given the myriad of challenges faced by Qoki Zindlovukazi Trucks, Market, Bank, Hotel & Golf course, Farm, Filling Stations, Properties and Guest House, experts are recommending a complete re-evaluation of the company’s management structure, along with the implementation of stringent financial and operational controls. Upskilling the existing workforce and hiring experienced professionals has also been suggested to rectify the current deficiencies.
Charity Dube, disappointed and appalled at Qoki’s fraudulent allegations, commented
‘I bought 2 shares on that scam, automatically making me a majority of the so called shareholder, but never a day where our opinions were taken into consideration’
As the situation unfolds, shareholders are eagerly awaiting a response from Ms Tshuma’s team and potential strategies to address the company’s management crisis. From 2021, some ‘investors’ have been requesting the Trucks business to be sold or get refunded their share equivalent, to date Qoki has not responded to any of these requests. The outcome of this critical period will determine the future of Qoki Zindlovukazi as a whole, their Lawyer Zibusiso Charles Ncube and Qoki’s ability to recover from its current state of turmoil.
The way Chiwenga was picked up at the airport by the army when he was supposed to be arrested on 12 Nov 2017 is EXACTLY what happened when Saviour Kasukuwere arrived.
●He is in Zimbabwe, ●He will be contesting ●He is not getting arrested
Nothing is going to change the above.
These Mnangagwa hooligans you find on these streets will try allsorts to cast a shadow of doubt.
Iwe neni tinebasa
Asante sana.
While threats of death await him, Kasukuwere's return to Zimbabwe, will itself be both a shifting and switching of powers in ZANU PF – Our prediction.
By Prof Zhang Tar | ZimEye | As Zimbabwe gears up for the highly anticipated 2023 election, the emergence of Saviour Kasukuwere on the political scene has sparked speculations about his impact on the electoral landscape. Some suggest that he may play a role similar to that of Simba Makoni in the 2008 election, effectively dividing votes between the incumbent President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the opposition leader Nelson Chamisa. This article delves into the dynamics surrounding Kasukuwere’s entry into Zimbabwean politics and examines the potential implications of his candidacy.
The Zezuru Factor and Leadership Mandate
Saviour Kasukuwere, a close associate of the late Robert Mugabe, represents a faction of Zezurus who believe they were unjustly deprived of the leadership mandate following the 2017 coup that brought Mnangagwa to power. The Zezurus, the nation’s largest tribe, perceive Mnangagwa’s administration as favouring the Karanga tribe, thereby marginalizing their interests. With their desire to reclaim what they see as their rightful place, the Zezurus, including the Manicas, have rallied together against what they perceive as an attack on their group.
Tribal Dynamics in Zimbabwean Politics
Tribal affiliations have historically played a significant role in Zimbabwean politics, and the upcoming election is expected to be no exception. The Karangas, like the Ndebeles, are not numerically dominant, whereas the Zezurus hold a considerable numerical advantage. Given that both Mnangagwa and Chamisa hail from the Karanga tribe, the tribal factor becomes even more pronounced. Consequently, the support of the Zezurus could be a game-changer for any political candidate. The Ndaus, associated with Ndabaningi Sithole, are the only tribe to have set themselves apart since the Ndebele era.
Kasukuwere’s Involvement and ZANU PF’s Motivation
Contrary to the notion that Kasukuwere is positioning himself as another Simba Makoni, it is worth noting that he was sought after by ZANU PF to lead the party. A letter was written to ZANU PF members to this effect, indicating that Kasukuwere’s candidacy is not solely his own decision. This demonstrates a significant shift within ZANU PF, with the party recognizing the importance of securing the support of the Zezurus, a tribe that has historically played a significant role in the party’s support base.
Mnangagwa’s Popularity and Political Legacy
Emmerson Mnangagwa has faced widespread criticism and is widely disliked among the people of Zimbabwe. Unlike his predecessor, Robert Mugabe, Mnangagwa lacks the charismatic appeal and popularity that could have softened the impact of his policies. His failure to establish a contemporary political accord akin to previous attempts in Zimbabwe’s history has further exacerbated internal divisions within ZANU PF. Mnangagwa’s approach has left the nation grappling with political, economic, and social challenges.
The Role of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission
An important aspect to consider is whether the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) will allow Kasukuwere’s nomination papers. The decision by the ZEC will play a crucial role in shaping the upcoming election. If Kasukuwere is allowed to run, it could further intensify the political landscape, potentially leading to a more fragmented vote distribution.
As Zimbabwe approaches the 2023 election, the entry of Saviour Kasukuwere has introduced new dynamics into the political arena. The grievances of the Zezurus, who feel marginalized under Mnangagwa’s administration, coupled with tribal considerations, make this election a crucial one.
As preacher, Emmanuel Makandiwa prepares a video explainer over his controversial statements comparing himself with God, an article written by a leaker of the disgraced Uebert Angel’s secrets Brilliant Pongo provides an analysis over his claims that recently sparked controversy and debate.
Emmanuel Makandiwa’s video explainer set for Thursday
Pongo dissects the claim made by Makandiwa and explores the meaning of being “gifted,” as well as the implications of comparing human giftedness to divine attributes.
Pongo begins by highlighting Makandiwa’s use of language and suggests that he may have been influenced by his association with Uebert Angel, a prominent figure in the Christian community. Pongo implies that Makandiwa’s attempt to stir controversy through his use of the word “gifted” only managed to deceive his followers while drawing criticism from the rest of the world.
The article then delves into the concept of being gifted and explains that it refers to possessing exceptional talents, abilities, or qualities that set individuals apart in specific fields or areas of expertise. It emphasizes that giftedness encompasses various aspects such as intellectual, artistic, athletic, and empathetic skills. Gifted individuals are described as having remarkable aptitude, often surpassing the norm in terms of proficiency or creativity.
The understanding of the divine is discussed next, acknowledging that concepts of God differ across belief systems and religious traditions. In monotheistic faiths, God is typically regarded as the supreme being with attributes such as omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. God is seen as the creator and sustainer of the universe, possessing unparalleled wisdom, power, and knowledge.
Pongo argues that comparing human beings to God is futile due to the inherent differences in nature and scope. While humans have remarkable potential, they are finite beings with limitations, while God is portrayed as infinite and transcendent in religious traditions.
However, the article emphasizes that humans possess their own unique potential and are capable of achieving extraordinary feats throughout history. The capacity for learning, creativity, and adaptability has allowed humans to push the boundaries of what was once thought possible. Pongo highlights the power of human agency and the freedom to make choices, which distinguishes human giftedness from the all-knowing nature of a deity.
The article emphasizes the importance of nurturing and fostering human gifts for individual and societal progress. Education, mentorship, and access to resources are mentioned as crucial elements in honing and amplifying human potential. By investing in programs that support the development of diverse talents, individuals can make meaningful contributions to society.
Pongo acknowledges that while humans may never attain the divine perfection ascribed to God, their gifts allow them to transcend their limitations. By leveraging their talents, humans can create beauty, solve complex problems, and inspire others. The article emphasizes the qualities of empathy, love, and the ability to form connections, which add depth and richness to the human experience.
In conclusion, Pongo argues that human giftedness should not be seen as a competition with a higher power, but rather as a means to fulfill purpose, contribute to society, and seek personal fulfillment. The article emphasizes the importance of using gifts wisely and ethically, with an understanding of their impact on oneself and the world. Ultimately, the harmony between human giftedness and the divine enriches the collective journey and enables individuals to strive for greatness.
Overall, the article provides a thoughtful exploration of the concept of being gifted, the attributes of the divine, and the unique potential and limitations of humans. It encourages the appreciation and responsible use of human gifts while recognizing the awe-inspiring nature of human potential.
In a stunning video that recently sent shockwaves through social media, Emmanuel Makandiwa, a controversial figure in the Christian community, made an audacious claim that left many Christians questioning his intentions. Deliberately edited to ignite controversy, Makandiwa’s words set the stage for a captivating debate that transcends his linguistic prowess and challenges our understanding of the word “gifted.” Let us delve into the intricacies of this claim, unravel the true meaning of being gifted, and explore the implications of Makandiwa’s provocative statement.
One could be forgiven to think that Makandiwa was just trying to flex his English muscles, after all he did not do that well in his grade seven, or ZJC English exams never mind at O’ level.
So taking from the vocabulary he got taught by his erstwhile friend the Ambassador at Large Uebert Angel, Makandiwa thought it would help him stir controversy by playing with the word ‘gifted’ he tried justifying the context in which he was using it but the boy from Muzarabani only managed to hoodwink his gullible followers, the rest of the world called him out. Nonetheless this got me thinking and hence the short essay below which I hope would help him and his followers to grasp the meaning of the word ‘gifted’.
In the domain of human existence, questions pertaining to our potential and capabilities have always intrigued us. One such intriguing query that has stirred debates throughout history is whether a man can be more gifted than God. To delve into this topic, it is important to first understand the meaning of being gifted and the attributes ascribed to the divine. Through an exploration of these concepts, we can shed light on the inherent nature of human potential and the unique abilities we possess.
Defining Giftedness:
Being gifted refers to possessing exceptional talents, abilities, or qualities that distinguish an individual from others in a particular field or area of expertise. It encompasses a wide range of human capabilities, such as intellectual, artistic, athletic, and empathetic skills. Gifted individuals exhibit remarkable aptitude, often displaying levels of proficiency or creativity that surpass the norm.
Understanding the Divine:
God, as a concept, varies across different belief systems and religious traditions. In monotheistic faiths, God is typically regarded as the supreme being, possessing attributes such as omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence. God is seen as the creator and sustainer of the universe, possessing unparalleled wisdom, power, and knowledge.
The Limitations of Comparison:
Comparing human beings to God can be seen as an exercise in futility, given the inherent differences in nature and scope. Humans, despite their remarkable potential, are finite beings with limitations. Conversely, God, as portrayed in various religious traditions, embodies infinite and transcendent qualities.
Human Potential:
While humans may not possess the absolute perfection attributed to God, we are gifted with remarkable potential. Our capacity for learning, creativity, and adaptability has enabled us to achieve extraordinary feats throughout history. From scientific advancements to artistic masterpieces, humans have consistently demonstrated the ability to transcend limitations and push the boundaries of what was once thought possible.
The Power of Choice:
One distinguishing aspect of human giftedness lies in our freedom to make choices. Unlike an all-knowing deity, humans possess agency and the ability to shape their destinies through conscious decision-making. This freedom grants us the opportunity to explore our potential, develop our talents, and make a lasting impact on the world.
Unlocking Human Gifts:
Humanity’s diverse talents and abilities offer a tapestry of brilliance that enriches our collective existence. Nurturing and fostering these gifts is crucial for individual and societal progress. Education, mentorship, and access to resources play a pivotal role in honing and amplifying human potential. By investing in programs that support the development of diverse talents, we empower individuals to make meaningful contributions to society.
The Transcendence of Humanity:
While humans may never attain the divine perfection ascribed to God, our gifts allow us to transcend our limitations. By leveraging our talents, we can create beauty, solve complex problems, and inspire others. Our ability to empathize, love, and create connections adds depth and richness to the human experience, fostering a sense of purpose and meaning in our lives.
While the question of whether a man can be more gifted than God may be a thought-provoking philosophical inquiry, it is important to recognize the unique attributes and roles of both entities. Human potential, though not infinite, is a remarkable force that continually propels us forward. By embracing and nurturing our diverse gifts, we have the power to shape our own destinies and contribute to a world that reflects the best of our humanity. Ultimately, it is through our collective endeavors that we can make a lasting impact and transcend our mortal boundaries.
In exploring the concept of human giftedness and its relationship to the divine, it is crucial to emphasize the interconnectedness of these realms. While humans possess extraordinary talents, it is important to acknowledge the source from which these abilities emanate. Whether one attributes it to divine creation, natural evolution, or a combination of factors, the intrinsic potential within human beings is undeniably awe-inspiring.
Human giftedness encompasses a wide spectrum of abilities. Intellectual brilliance manifests in the form of scientific breakthroughs, groundbreaking theories, and revolutionary inventions that shape the course of human history. Artists, musicians, and writers captivate our hearts and minds through their creative expressions, provoking emotions and challenging societal norms. Athletes display exceptional physical prowess, setting new records and pushing the boundaries of human performance. Empathy, compassion, and the ability to connect with others on a deep emotional level represent gifts that foster understanding, unity, and social progress.
However, it is important to recognize that human giftedness is not absolute and is subject to various factors such as genetics, environment, education, and opportunity. Each person possesses a unique blend of talents and strengths, and it is the collective tapestry of human giftedness that adds vibrancy and diversity to our world.
While human giftedness may not rival the divine attributes often associated with God, it is essential to understand that human beings are not in a competition with a higher power. Rather, our giftedness enables us to fulfill our purpose, contribute to society, and seek personal fulfillment. Our talents provide us with the means to make a positive impact, enhance the well-being of others, and leave a lasting legacy.
Furthermore, it is important to note that the appreciation of human giftedness should not lead to arrogance or hubris. Instead, it should inspire gratitude, humility, and a sense of responsibility. Recognizing our gifts should encourage us to use them wisely and ethically, with a deep understanding of the impact they can have on ourselves and the world around us.
In conclusion, the question of whether a man can be more gifted than God is complex and multifaceted. Human giftedness encompasses a vast array of talents, abilities, and potential, which contribute to the richness of our existence. While our gifts may pale in comparison to the divine attributes attributed to God, it is the unique combination of our abilities, choices, and contributions that define our humanity. Embracing and nurturing our gifts, while respecting the divine, allows us to reach our fullest potential and make a meaningful difference in the world. Ultimately, it is the harmony between the human and the divine that enriches our collective journey and enables us to strive for greatness.
By Dr Masimba Mavaza- While President Emmerson Mnangagwa, the ZANU PF 2023 Presidential candidate, joins masses of believers in their different congregations to worship the living God, CCC leader Nelson Chamisa decides to make the sermon himself.
Watching Chamisa at Mbare Stoddart Netball courts it shows the demise of opposition. Like a charismatic preacher he controls the narrative. Behind him are the brains of the opposition’s Charlton Hwende and Tendai Biti and many heavy weights refused by the people they purport to represent yet being the brains behind the party, all have been rendered useless because of the dictatorship of one man. When we warned Biti and his followers that the dictatorship of CHAMISA knows no bounds, he is a pastor, not a power star—those two rhyme but is not the same. Tsvangirai wreathes in his grave. Those who formed the party can not speak those who dared to speak have been haunted out of the grave train. The political cemeteries display tall and sticking-out tombstones inscribed clearly in trickery. Rest in peace, Biti Rest in Peace, Douglas Mwonzora, farewell Morgen Komichi. These tombstones are placed close to the real graves of Tsvangirai and Gibson Sibanda and many of those who died after being dribbled by Nelson CHAMISA. It is very curious that those who joined CHAMISA from their own parties are either in prison or have had the rug pulled under their feet. Ngarivhume is serving a sentence and surprisingly, CCC under CHAMISA never stood by him so is Job Sikhala. Those not in prison and not chased away from CCC to pave the way for pure dictatorship are scared to speak out because the cult of Chamisa rules. They dare not speak because they will not be heard of ever again. Lilian Timveos and Blessing Chebundo saw the light early and joined the revolutionary party ZANU PF. They saved themselves from a murky candidate selection process which was targeting those who threatened Chamisa’s position. How do you get to this position when an opposition is beholden to one man. Like a sect, they go to the slaughter quietly, hoping a protest vote will help them. If CHAMISA can display such audacity before he sets foot in the state house, what will happen should he get there? God forbid. Zimbabwe’s opposition is cursed we are not blessed with a democratic opposition. We have a party with no structures no plan for the nation but a plan for the leader alone and his spokespersons. Talk of standing by friends Chamisa will not care for any one except himself. We look no further than his discretely fired spokesperson. Nkululeko Sibanda. He was dragged from his high paying position in UK and brought in to be the spokesperson. CHAMISA was forming an old Student Union team. Then when Sibanda invested his experience and Knowlledge in the party he was offloaded at the first hearing of a female voice in the name of Fadzai Nyembesi MAHERE. She brought all the meanings of her names. Joy to the leader and tears to Nkululeko. Elections are fast approaching Nkululeko Sibanda is now in the dustbin of CCC which is filling very fast. To understand CHAMISA and his constitutionless party, we look at the replacement of Nkululeko Sibanda. Fadzai MAHERE the personal spoke person of the CCC shocked the world when she took time to demonise Zimbabwe in Geneva. One Former British Prime minister Winston Churchill once said “When I am abroad, I always make it a rule never to criticize or attack the government of my own country. I make up for lost time when I come home.” Zimbabweans have seen a crop of people who stand and pledge to soil their country. We have seen people who are so dedicated to make Zimbabwe look evil in the eyes of the world. Mahere was seeking relevance and building a profile for herself and CHAMISA on the blood of her fellow country man. Her fame is written with the blood of Zimbabweans. The CCC makes many feel a little perplexed. it is sometimes saddening to see that some self-proclaimed critics go beyond the limit and start spitting out random things. Blaming Mnangagwa’s govt. for each and every bad thing happening around us has almost become a trend these days. President ED has been working relentlessly 24*7 with out getting even a little bit tired since the past four years. The fact that we criticize when things don’t work out, or rather when things don’t work out the way WE WANT. Instead of actually doing something of figuring ways out.
In her address, Mahere claimed that in 2021 “I woke up in a security prison in Zimbabwe with no toilet, no water and no underwear. To claim that she had neither a toilet nor access to water is hyperbole meant to demonise the Zimbabwean Government when she knows that Zimbabwean prisoners have access to toilets and water. It would be naïve for a person of Mahere’s stature to expect her prison cell to be as luxurious as her en suite bedroom. As for the claims of going around her cell without underwear, it is common practice the world over that items of clothing that can be used by prisoners to commit suicide, strangle other prisoners or create ladders to escape are removed from their cells for their own safety. If she was wearing panties like G-strings that can easily lend themselves to other uses, no responsible prison officer would let her keep them on her person. But was she even wearing one we don’t know. All this tells us that CCC is not intending to be democratic if God forbids it gets in the office. They have abandoned their slogan that “God is in it” and now resort to purging each other. God May never be in that treachery. On the other hand ZANU PF does not only talk they join the worshippers and worship with them. This is the reason why the churches adore ED MNANGAGWA. If we are serious about our country let us vote for serious people. Leadership is a serious business. It requires honesty and faithfulness. To that end, MNANGAGWA attends the church and worships with others, as did David, the King of the Jews and all kings. CHAMISA will not go where God is. He wants God to join him at a yellow rally. Zimbabwe is a blessed country, and God has blessed it. We must not betray our God by voting for those who will not tell the truth but only claim that God is in it. Zimbabwe needs POWER STARS, NOT PASTORS, in the state house.
By A Correspondent| According to Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition (CZiC), opposition Citizens Coalition for Change parliamentary candidates are yet to file their nomination papers with only four hours left before the court closes.
Posting on Twitter, CZiC said;
“At Harare Magistrates Court all CCC candidates are yet to file nomination papers amid reports the court is telling them the papers they are filing do not have the same signatures as the ones filed prior to the sitting of the nomination court.”
Meanwhile, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Advocate Nelson Chamisa, Professor Lovemore Madhuku, Trust Chikohora, Linda Masarira and Savior Kasukuwere have reportedly successfully filed their nomination papers to stand as presidential candidates in the August 23 elections.
Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba through his controversial Tinoedzazvimwe1 Twitter account has confirmed that Independent Presidential candidate Savior Kasukuwere has filed his nomination papers.
By A Correspondent| Last week, Jedidiah Trust, a local non-governmental organization partnered with the Canadian Embassy in Zimbabwe to host children and caregivers of children of incarcerated parents to commemorate the Day of the African Child.
Speaking at the event, Getrude Mandizvidza, the Chairperson of Jedidiah Trust, emphasized the importance of creating moments of happiness for children of incarcerated parents saying they are often neglected and excluded within their communities.
“All what we’re doing is to make sure that these kids at least have a test of happiness, because most of the time and especially in our community they are side-lined because their parents are in prison.
“So most of the benefits that other children do have, they are always some of them to an the extent of being scolded because of whatever their parents did. So for now, with the help of Canadian Embassy, we decided to bring these children so that they can have fun, enjoy the games, even their guardians, so that they can all forget about the stress and look up and also taste happiness,” said Mandizvidza.
Jessica Dawson, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Canada in Harare, Zimbabwe said they partnered with Jedidiah Trust in order to celebrate these children and offering them a sense of love and belonging.
“We chose today, the day of the African child because we thought it was an excellent opportunity for us to celebrate these children, give them an opportunity to come together, get to know each other, feel free, feel comfortable.
“And let them know that the Canadian Embassy that the Government of Canada appreciates them and values them. The Government of Canada places a lot of emphasis on promoting and protecting the human rights of everyone, including children and the beneficiaries of Jedidiah Trust. The children of incarcerated parents are a very overlooked group,” said Dawson.
Lovemore Chikwanda, the founder of Jedidiah Trust, emphasized the organization’s commitment to mending shattered dreams saying the visit to the Canadian Embassy was an essential part of their efforts to amplify the voices of children with incarcerated parents.
“As an organization, we are so happy as we have managed to impact the lives of these children because our motive is all about empowering lives and building broken dreams. And that’s why we are here today at the Canadian Embassy, we say thank you for giving us this opportunity to amplify the voices of children with parents who are in prison,” said Chikwanda.
PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa (Zanu-PF) and opposition Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa on Tuesday successfully filed nomination papers ahead of today’s sitting of the nomination courts across the country.
Several other presidential candidates are expected to file their nomination papers on Wednesday.
These include exiled former Cabinet minister Saviour Kasukuwere, who will stand as an independent candidate, National Constitutional Assembly leader Lovemore Madhuku and MDC Alliance leader Douglas Mwonzora, among others.
Kasukuwere and Democratic Union of Zimbabwe leader Robert Chapman are some of the surprise presidential candidates expected to enter the presidential race in the August 23 elections.
Nomination fees are pegged at U$20 000 for the presidential candidates, while prospective MPs will fork out US$1 000 to participate in the polls, with aspiring councillors and senators paying US$100.
Prospective senators and MPs will file their papers in provincial capitals.
Councillors will converge at district centres to submit their papers.
Political analysts yesterday expressed mixed feelings over Kasukuwere’s chances of successfully filing his candidature today.
“I have my grave doubts,” Eldred Masunugure said.
“It’s possible, but improbable unless a pact has been crafted between him and those at the apex of power.”
But Southern African Political Economy Series Trust director Ibbo Mandaza said he had high hopes that Kasukuwere would successfully file as a presidential candidate despite a pending warrant of arrest.
“Apparently, the warrant of arrest was mala fides and should have been put aside already,” Mandaza said.
“By the way, a candidate doesn’t have to be physically present at the nomination court. It’s the task of an election agent.”
PRESIDENT of the Chief’s Council, Fortune Charumbira, has been reported to the police for cyber-bullying after he allegedly fabricated a WhatsApp chat history to downplay his sexual assault case.
Charumbira, who is also the Pan-African Parliament president, is being accused of sexually assaulting his niece, who cannot be named for ethical reasons.
Police are, however, yet to arrest him although the case was reported in April this year.
A document, titled Plan to dethrone PAP president, which has been circulating on social media contains a WhatsApp chat history purporting to involve Charumbira’s family members.
According to the document, people involved in the chats are the victim and her father, who also cannot be named for ethical reasons, and two others who are allegedly plotting to dethrone Charumbira.
The chat history alleges that the victim’s father and the other three family members were worried that their plot to dethrone Charumbira using the sexual assault case was collapsing.
In the conversation, they then discussed a fresh plot to dethrone him, which was to write a petition for his removal from the chieftaincy.
But the victim’s father dismissed the messages and filed a case against Charumbira and five other family members whom he accused of fabricating the chats to trivialise the assault case which has been reported to the police.
The case was reported under RRB 5457709 at Masvingo Central Police Station last Thursday.
Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Kudakwashe Dewa referred NewsDay to national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi.
“On that one, get the comment from our national office,” Dhewa said.
Nyathi was, however, not picking calls.
In his self-recorded statement filed with the police, the victim’s father said Charumbira connived with other family members to fabricate the chat history after he had panicked over a petition they had filed against him with government.
“I do not know the accused person, but I strongly suspect Chief Fortune Charumbira in conjunction with Akim Manyudza, Terminate Charumbira, Alimot Charumbira, Bylaw Charumbira and Muzvondiwa Charumbira. They all originate from the Charumbira clan,” the victim’s father said.
“The accused person contravened section 164B of the Data Protection Act [Chapter 11:22], cyber-bullying and harassment.”
The victim’s father said his family filed a petition addressed to Masvingo Provincial Affairs minister Ezra Chadzamira, chairperson of the Provincial Chief Assembly, Chief Chitanga, Local Government minister July Moyo and Chief Secretary in the Offcice of the President and Cabinet, Misheck Sibanda.
He accused Charumbira of using the names of the signatories of the petition to fabricate a WhatsApp chat.
The statement further read: “I assume the suspected person, after being served with the copy of the petition, noted the signatories on the petition which he used to manipulate the fraudulent WhatsApp chat.
“The suspect, towards countering all these allegations, formulated and hatched a plan to manipulate a false (sic) WhatsApp chat and posted it on social media, claiming that the aforementioned allegations of indecent assault and threats of violence were staged towards dethroning him.”
Contacted for comment, Charumbira said: “What WhatsApp chat history? Are you sure I have a link to that WhatsApp? Send me the chats to ascertain the truth.”
Charumbira recently refuted the allegations being levelled against him and threatened to sue the victim for defamation.
The victim later filed another report of threat of violence against her by Charumbira.
Last week, she filed a complaint against the police for failing to take action against her case.
ZIMBABWEAN businessman Frank Buyanga incarcerated in South Africa has launched a fresh bid in the High Court to avert extradition to his home country.
Buyanga has been in a Johannesburg prison since November and launched his new application Monday, seeking to block his possible extradition to Zimbabwe.
He has been at loggerheads with his former girlfriend, Chantelle Muteswa, contesting custody of their minor son for years.
A warrant of arrest was issued against him after he took his son to South Africa following a landmark ruling that gave parents with children outside of wedlock equal access to their children.
In his application, Buyanga said he fears he will be unfairly treated in Zimbabwe, insinuating judiciary interference.
He alleges Muteswa has close ties with the Zimbabwe First family.
The application reads: “I mention in passing that Ms Muteswa has abused her close connections to the First Family in Zimbabwe to use ZRP to lay the charges of kidnapping and robbery and to illegally procure the authorisation of the warrant of arrest that is relied upon in the extradition request.”
He further claimed Muteswa is in a relationship with one of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s sons.
“I reserve the right to disclose his name should the need arise,” he said.
The businessman is seeking an order declaring the extradition warrant unlawful.
Buyanga also wants the hearing at the Randburg magistrate court to be discontinued and set aside for lack of jurisdiction.
In his founding affidavit, Buyanga said South Africa has no extradition treaty with Zimbabwe.
Buyanga was arrested on November 10 on the back of a warrant issued in his home country.
Initially, he was granted R150 000 bail but was arrested immediately after on separate charges of contravening the Immigration Act.
The businessman filed another bail application, which the court dismissed. He has been in custody since then.
Buyanga argues he is being held on a non-extraditable offence.
The application reads: “I am further advised that contempt of court is not an extraditable offence in terms of the SADC Protocol on Extradition as read with Criminal Law (Codification and Reform)(chapter 9:23) Act of Zimbabwe.
“I am therefore advised and believe the advice to be correct: to the extent that the sentence for contempt of court in Zimbabwe is a fine or a period of imprisonment not exceeding one year or both, it follows that no request for my extradition should have been made relying upon the alleged contempt charges.
“To that extent, I have advised the extradition request by the government of Zimbabwe was irreparably defective.”
The Randburg Magistrate Court will hold an inquiry in terms of sections 9 and 10 of the Extradition Act.
However, Buyanga says: “Because I was prima facie arrested unlawfully, the Randburg magistrate court cannot lawfully exercise its jurisdiction over me. By extension, it cannot, therefore, purport to hold an extradition inquiry that is premised on my unlawful arrest.
“To that extent, the legality of the extradition inquiry is equally tainted.
“I there humbly request that this honourable court ought to review and set aside the warrant of arrest on which I was arrested on 10 November 2022, because it was applied for and authorised improperly.”
ALL is set for the Nomination Court which is sitting today marking the beginning of the race for the August 23 harmonised elections.
Aspiring candidates sponsored by political parties and independents across the country are today expected to submit their nomination papers.
The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) had by end of business yesterday, set up stations at provincial magistrate courts and at all councils offices where candidates will file their nomination papers.
A Chronicle news crew observed some aspiring candidates conducting a pre-lodging exercise with ZEC officials assisting them to verify their papers.
ZEC chief elections officer Mr Utloile Silaigwana said the commission is ready for the sitting of the Nomination Court.
He said the public should be aware that elections will be conducted using new delimitation boundaries.
“We would like to advise that the Nomination Courts as per the proclamation will commence at 10AM and close at 4PM tomorrow, 21 June 2023. This is in terms of the electoral law Section 46 subsection 7 of the Electoral Act and that says no nomination paper shall be received after 4PM on the nomination date,” he said.
Mr Silaigwana however said those candidates who will be inside the Nomination Court by 4PM, will be attended to.
He said ZEC has fixed anomalies that the public raised during the voter’s roll inspection.
“I want to assure the electorate that the commission has rectified the anomalies that were identified by both voters and ourselves.
“From the proclamation of the election by the State President setting 23 August as the date for the harmonised elections, ZEC would like to advise the electorate that the voters’ roll for this election closed on the 2nd of June in accordance with the electoral law,” said Mr Silaigwana
The main political parties yesterday said they are targeting all the available seats ahead of the 2023 harmonised elections.
Zanu- PF national commissar Mike Bimha said the party has candidates for all contested seats.
“As before we have never had any fear of contesting for any position, we will contest all positions. After the nomination court, our campaigns start,” he said.
Bimha said the ruling party is confident of a resounding victory.
He said Zanu- PF has assembled the best team chosen by the party’s structures to represent the party in the elections.
“We are getting closer to what we have been waiting for. We have been organising our party, re-energising our party, holding our internal elections as per our constitution, mobilising our electorate, educating our membership in terms of what the party stands for and what Government has done since the coming of the Second Republic and what has already been achieved in terms of our road towards achieving Vision 2030,” said Bimha.
MDC spokesperson Mr Witness Dube said his party will be fielding candidates across the board despite not having finalised the list for those contesting for local authority seats.
“With regards to the Parliamentary positions we are fielding a full complement of 210 candidates, plus the proportional representation list, that is the Senate, Lower House and the proportional representation for councils,” he said.
Mr Dube said the party had by yesterday 90 percent of the candidates for councils.
” We will do our final tally first thing in the morning before our team heads to the Nomination Court,” he said.
Posting on social media platform Twitter, Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) deputy spokesperson Mr Gift Ostallos Siziba said the opposition party will contest in all the available seats for councils.
“One Presidential candidate. 210 Members of Parliament. 1970 Councillors. Let’s go!” posted Mr Siziba.
Harare businessman Malvern Chimutashu, who was recently arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, has been denied bail at the High Court and will be in prison pending trial.
Chimutashu (40) of Borrowdale, had his application for bail pending trial dismissed by Justice Esther Muremba who noted that the accused did not disclose in his application that he had two other pending cases before the courts.
Allegations are that on December 12, 2022, Chimutashu sold a Mercedes Benz (registration number AFX4285) to the complainant for US$6 728.
The complainant then put up the car for sale for US$15 000.
After learning that the complainant was selling the motor vehicle, Chimutashu told the complainant that he had secured a buyer and was given directions to the garage where the car was parked.
On February 15, 2023, Chimutashu and two other men proceeded to the garage where the accused was given the car keys for a test drive.
Chimutashu is said to have driven the car away and never returned it.
In the second case, Chimutashu is said to have defrauded another complainant of US$3 000 in 2013 and he is supposed to appear for trial on August 24.
Chimutashu is said to have lied that he was a lawyer and could represent the complainant in a court case he was facing.
Chimutashu was only arrested on June 6, 2023 in respect of the charge of theft of a motor vehicle.
The third case is another fraud matter involving US$235 000 which is at defence stage in the regional court at Harare Magistrates Court under CRB HRE R 636/2017.
The judge said the key question was if the applicant would stand trial or evade it if granted bail.
In light of these cases, there was no assurance that Chimutashu intended to stand trial.
“If information is needed on a particular point, courts should allow that information to be availed. This is why the law permits postponements in bail proceedings.
“If the accused persons want their matters dealt with urgently and expeditiously, they should ensure that they put all the relevant information in their applications.
“They cannot withhold information and then seek to rush the courts in making decisions in the absence of vital information.
“In casu if the applicant had been candid with the court right from the start about all his pending cases, we would not have postponed the hearings to enable the State to get the information from the lower court,” said Justice Muremba.
“In view of the foregoing discussion, the application for bail pending appeal is dismissed.”
In 2019, Ionna Kiki Georgias, the daughter of late former deputy minister Aguy Clement Georgias, was looking for a Mercedes Benz vehicle to buy and was referred to Chimutashu who showed her a Mercedes C200 with no registration plates and said he wanted to sell it for US$33 000 cash.
Ms Georgias agreed to buy the vehicle and made three payments of US$10 000, US$18 000 and US$5 000 to Chimutashu who then gave her the vehicle.
A few days later, Chimutashu allegedly gave her fake temporary registration number plates.
Investigations conducted found the car was not registered in Zimbabwe since it was brought in using a temporary import permit and it was impounded by Zimra.
Ms Georgias made a report to the police who then arrested Chimutashu before he appeared before the courts. During the trial, Chimutashu disappeared and a warrant of arrest was issued against him.
By Business Reporter -The grand entrance to the US$4 billion Pomona City ‘within a city’ project will be officially opened end of this month, signalling WestProp’s commitment to the construction of the massive gated mixed-use community.
Chief executive officer Mr Kenneth Sharpe is upbeat with the development and has promised “a changed face of Harare”.
The entrance gatehouse is equipped with a sales house, guard room, artificial intelligence gadgets and a green energy charge room to power the facility and surveillance cameras.
“We are introducing new facilities and attractions to the development. We have copied from the best practices globally. We are not only selling residential stands. We are offering an investment in a lifestyle community where you live, work, shop and play,” he said.
Some individuals who bought stands at the development have started building their properties bringing to reality the Pomona dream.
The investment makes the development one of Zimbabwe’s most massive single infrastructure capital injections.
Dubbed a city within a city because of its attributes that bring all urban aspects of life, work, shop and play into one community, Pomona City sets to be a significant prototype development that would be copied and replicated by other developers.
World-renowned architects were engaged to work on the master plan and building structures, making the development a fusion of cultures and very cosmopolitan.
The lifestyle community development combines the use of technology, communal living spaces and unique social amenities that differentiate the estate from the traditional suburban designs. The social amenities are exclusively reserved for the owners of properties to preserve privacy and uphold the value.
Infrastructure developments and designs at Pomona City mirror the ones largely found in Dubai, with traits similar to the ones in modern world capitals.
“We believe Dubai has the quality and excellence that we can bring to Zimbabwe. We are walking our talk. We believe in being disruptive,” he says.
One of the unique features of the Pomona City phase 2 is the introduction of the leasehold model, a “completely new feature in Zimbabwe but very common in developed economies”.
The leasehold model makes the acquisition of property much cheaper as it removes the bulk cost of the land. The property owner only acquires the building and leases the land from the developer.
“The affordability is much easier when one commits resources to the built-up unit only and not the land. The cost of land has been an inhibiting factor in property ownership”, says Mr Sharpe, who is pioneering the model.
The property owner is expected to pay from as little as US$50 to $200 a month in land rentals. The leases are valid for up to 50 years and are renewed perpetually (forever) with the rights of ownership to the land separate so the property can be transferred when selling the building to any buyer or giving it to the homeowners’ beneficiaries.
“The affordability aspect is much easier when a home owner commits their funds building their home and not the land. The cost of land has been an inhibiting factor in property ownership and rapid growth of the market”, he says.

By Dorrothy Moyo | The city of Gweru is currently grappling with a severe water crisis, leading to residents accumulating a staggering debt of $12 billion in unpaid water bills. The mayor of Gweru, Councillor Hamutendi Kombayi, has pointed out that the reluctance of residents to pay their bills is a result of the local council’s failure to provide an adequate water supply. This article delves into the reasons behind the water shortage and analyzes the mayor’s concerns about the mismanagement of the situation.
Insufficient Water Supply and Rationing:
The local authority recently released a water rationing schedule, indicating that many areas in Gweru would only receive water once a week. However, some suburbs, particularly those in high-lying areas, have endured water scarcity for more than three months, forcing residents to resort to unsafe water sources. This prolonged lack of access to clean water is a cause for great concern and raises questions about the council’s ability to meet the basic needs of its residents.
Mismanagement and Inadequate Resources:
One of the key issues contributing to the water crisis in Gweru is the alleged purchase of incorrect pumps by the council. Reports suggest that these pumps are unable to meet the city’s daily water consumption needs. As a result, the council is pumping a mere 37 megalitres of water per day, significantly below the demand of approximately 80 megalitres. This shortage has necessitated water rationing, exacerbating the plight of residents and leading to mounting frustrations.
Mayor’s Call for Action:
Mayor Kombayi has called upon the council’s management to prioritize the provision of water to residents and allocate more resources towards resolving the crisis. He rightly points out that residents cannot be expected to pay for a service they are not receiving. The mayor’s concerns are valid, especially considering that the bulk of the city’s revenue is derived from water bills. With a substantial portion of residents withholding payments due to the inadequate water supply, the council is facing a significant financial setback.
Power Outages as a Contributing Factor:
In addition to the mismanagement of water resources, the water crisis in Gweru has been compounded by frequent power outages. These outages have further hampered the council’s efforts to pump and distribute water effectively. The situation highlights the need for a dedicated power line to Gwenoro Dam, which would alleviate the dependence on the unreliable power supply and help address the water scarcity issue.
The water crisis in Gweru has reached a critical point, with residents experiencing prolonged water shortages and accumulating a substantial debt in unpaid bills. The mayor’s concerns about the council’s mismanagement and failure to provide an adequate water supply are justified. ACTING President General Retired Dr Constantino Chiwenga has described the late National Hero Cde Ben Mucheche as a man who remained dedicated to the values of the liberation struggle throughout his life.
He was speaking at the Mucheche farm in Beatrice after visiting the family to pay his condolences this Monday.
General Retired Chiwenga said the late Cde Mucheche worked wholeheartedly and unreservedly, assisting towards the cause of the liberation struggle.
“He worked a lot with the founding fathers of the Chimurenga. Some of us knew him during the Second Chimurenga. I came here representing President Mnangagwa who is outside the country but will back today. He is among those who went to war. From 1972 when the war was in full swing it did not stop. This is when we saw the likes of Cde Mucheche uniting with others to help the liberators. He assisted until 1980 when we attained independence,” he said.
The Acting President also spoke about how the country has gone through various stages, including the land reform, also referred to as the Third Chimurenga.
He said Cde Mucheche died at a time when Zimbabwe is fighting to grow its economy using its natural resources.
As the Nomination Court for the 23rd of August General Elections sits on Wednesday, Dr Chiwenga urged the electorate to vote for the ruling party to ensure completion of various projects being implemented across the country.
“Now we are facing the Chimurenga to build the nation. No one knew we had minerals like lithium. Now we are going to the nomination court as we prepare for elections. The Second Republic is saying this is what we are doing. We have opened mines, build roads, vote for us so we complete these projects,” he added.
Family representative Mr Ben Mucheche Junior said their father taught them a culture of hard work.
“We want to express our gratitude to the government for honoring our father. He believed in hard work and integrity,” he noted.

By Fred Huruva | The recent news of undisclosed Zimbabwe military officers storming into RGM Airport has raised concerns and drawn attention due to its resemblance to a previous clash between police and soldiers on 13 Nov 2017. This development coincides with the Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ (ZDF) claim that Passenger 34, landing at the airport, is former ZANU PF Commissar Saviour Kasukuwere, who’s allegedly arrived for the 2023 election’s nomination process. In this article, we will analyze these events and their potential implications, keeping in mind the upcoming general elections in Zimbabwe.
Background
Zimbabwe is preparing for the 2023 general elections, where Emmerson Mnangagwa seeks re-election while facing formidable opposition from Nelson Chamisa, leader of the CCC party. Additionally, Saviour Kasukuwere, a former ZANU PF Commissar, is expected to seek nomination for the presidential poll in what those supporting Emmerson Mnangagwa claim is a coup in itself before the election is even held.
Analysis of the Events
1. Military officers’ entrance:
The entry of undisclosed military officers into RGM Airport is concerning, particularly considering the similarities with the clash that occurred in November 2017. The motives and objectives behind this incident remain unclear, and it raises questions about the role of the military in the country’s political affairs. It is crucial to closely monitor the situation and seek further information to better understand the implications.
2. Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ claim:
The ZDF’s claim that Passenger 34 is Saviour Kasukuwere should be evaluated critically. While the ZDF is a significant institution, it is essential to scrutinize the claim based on verifiable evidence and independent sources. Without concrete evidence, the claim remains speculative, and further confirmation is required to establish the true identity of Passenger 34, who if it is Kasukwure, must not be stopped from contesting.
When ZimEye checked at the RGM Airport, Kasukuwere’s exact whereabouts could not be established. Whether in country or outside however, nothing should stop the man from registering because he is an ordinary resident of Zimbabwe qualifying to contest in the 2023 election.
3. Potential political implications:
The convergence of these events amid the nomination process for the upcoming elections raises concerns about potential political interference or attempts to influence the electoral outcome. The involvement of military officers and the ZDF’s claim could shape public perception and impact the electoral landscape. It is crucial for Zimbabwe’s democratic processes to remain transparent, inclusive, and free from undue influence.
4. Previous election results:
The mention of President Mnangagwa’s narrow victory in the 2018 presidential election, while relevant to Zimbabwe’s political context, is not directly connected to the current events or the veracity of the claim regarding Passenger 34’s identity. The evaluation of the claim should be based on the available evidence and the credibility of the sources rather than past election results.
The news of undisclosed military officers storming into RGM Airport alongside the Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ claim regarding Passenger 34 has raised concerns about potential political implications in the lead-up to Zimbabwe’s 2023 general elections. It is essential to closely monitor the situation, seek independent verification of claims, and prioritize transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
To ensure a fair and credible election, it is crucial for Zimbabwe to uphold democratic principles and respect the rule of law. The involvement of the military in political affairs and unsubstantiated claims can undermine public trust and create an atmosphere of uncertainty. As the nomination process progresses and more information becomes available, it is important to rely on reliable sources and independent verification to establish the facts and maintain the integrity of the electoral process.
Bournemouth have fired head coach Gary O’Neil after just seven months in charge. as the substantive head.
O’Neil took over as caretaker manager in August and was given an 18-month deal in November; he guided Bournemouth to a 15th-place finish in the Premier League last season.
He picked up 36 points during his time in charge and guided the club to a 15th-placed finish in the Premier League, with many believing he was a Manager of the Year candidate.
In a statement released this afternoon, the club confirmed O’Neil’s departure, saying:
“We can today confirm we have parted company with head coach Gary O’Neil.
“Gary leaves the club after overseeing 37 matches last season, initially on an interim basis before being formally appointed to his first head coaching role in November.
“A return of 10 wins and six draws in the Premier League was enough to maintain the club’s position in the top flight, effectively securing survival with four matches remaining following a memorable run of results in April.”
O’Neil coached Warriors Jordan Zemura before the player was blocked by the club towards the end of the season.
Zemura was blocked by the club’s hierarchy after he signed a contract with Italian Serie A club Udinese without their knowledge.

By James Gwati-CCC leader Nelson Chamisa Tuesday officially challenged Zanu PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the 2023 Presidential post by successfully filing his Presidential contest papers at the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
Chamisa ran for the highest office in the land in 2018 on an MDC Alliance ticket but lost the race to ZANU PF’s Emmerson Mnangagwa who received 50.8% of the vote against his 44.3%. The results gave Mnangagwa the majority needed to avoid a runoff but Chamisa rejected the results and sought to have them nullified by the Constitutional Court. The Constitutional Court bench unanimously upheld the results and ruled that Chamisa had failed to provide evidence that the election was rigged as he had alleged. Posting on Twitter this Tuesday, Chamisa said he was ready for the challenges ahead after successfully filing his nomination papers. Said Chamisa: PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE NOMINATION PAPERS FILED!! Have just successfully filed papers at ZEC. It’s all systems go! A New Great Zimbabwe is loading. CCC also announced that Chamisa had successfully filed his nomination papers. It said: Our Change Champion in Chief, Advocate Nelson Chamisa has successfully filed his nomination papers in preparation for the upcoming elections. This brisk filing involved submitting a nomination form, signed by the candidate, his chief election agent, and party signatories to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC). The payment of $20,000 was duly settled. It’s officially GAME TIME! We are ready to win Zimbabwe for change! Mnangagwa of ZANU PF will be running for his second and final term in office, while self-exiled former ZANU PF member Saviour Kasukuwere on Monday announced that he will be contesting in the presidential election. In 2018, 23 candidates were on the presidential ballot paper but this year there are likely going to be fewer names on the ballot after ZEC hiked nomination fees to US$20 000.
By Business Reporter -The grand entrance to the US$4 billion Pomona City ‘within a city’ project will be officially opened end of this month, signalling WestProp’s commitment to the construction of the massive gated mixed-use community.
Pomona city works
Pomona City work in progress.
By-Convicted famous comedian Mai TT, has turned to God in prison.
Mai TT told the state media Monday that God put her in prison for a reason that she has come to terms with the fact that jail will be her home for the next several months.
She made the revelations on Monday on the sidelines of a party hosted for the children of inmates at Chikurubi Female Prison. She said:
I am yet to accept that I have to stay behind these walls and get used to such an uncomfortable environment.
What came into my mind on my second day in my cell was my idea of visiting this same prison years ago.
I pleaded with prison officials to allow me to spend one night with inmates, but they denied me that chance, arguing that their protocol does not consider such requests.
I was touched by the living conditions of inmates, especially innocent babies, accompanying their mothers in prison.
I wanted to know more and little did I know that one day I would be counted among inmates kwete zvekunyepera kana kukumbira.
I want to believe that God is the one who gave me the idea to visit the prison and donate sanitary wear and food that year.
It is my prayer that all those mocking me continue to do so, maybe, I will find favour in God’s eyes and He will get me out of this place.
God is in control and His grace will take me through the race.
The party was hosted by Collen Abrahams, who is the son-in-law of Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service Commissioner General, Moses Chihobvu.
Mai TT was last week sentenced to an effective nine (9) months imprisonment following her conviction for theft of trust property.
She was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment, 6 months were suspended on condition that she doesn’t commit a similar offense in the next 5 years. It means she will serve an effective 6 months for the offence.
During the trial at the Harare Magistrates Court, it emerged that Mai TT defaulted on a court order, to perform community service once, following a conviction for assault eight years ago.
For defaulting on 105 hours of community service, Mai TT was ordered to serve 3 months in prison.

By-President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s soldier son, Sean Mnangagwa, has been appointed the Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association (ZIKA) patron.
His appointment comes following a visit by Malawian kickboxers to this country a few days ago. The visit was aimed at taking ties between the two countries to another level. The initiative, which is the brainchild of ZIKA, in conjunction with Heritage Delta, was meant to unpack potential long term cooperation channels in culture between the two countries. Sean, is a captain in the Zimbabwe National Army. He studied at the University of International Business School and Economics in South Africa majoring in security and business management, Homeland Security, law enforcement, fire-fighting and related protective services between 2008 and 2011. In an interview he said: “I complement the efforts being made by the Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association in mobilising the youths and inviting foreign countries to take part in such grand initiatives. “I feel it’s incredibly significant to be a kick boxer. As Bruce Lee once said, ‘It’s better to be a warrior in a garden, than to be a gardener in a war.’ “The drill here is to remain physically and spiritually fit. “This initiative also works as an anti-alcohol and drug campaign, targeting communities in which unemployed young people resort to drinking and using narcotics to alleviate the stress of not having work. “Fight fit, stay fit and stay healthy. “Kudos, therefore, to Heritage Delta for advocating and championing initiatives which seek to amplify Zimbabwe’s heritage in its diversity.” ZIKA president Tony Kamangira said: “Zimbabwe and Malawi National Teams were competing for the first time in an international competition last weekend, as a way of belatedly commemorating Africa Day. “The name of the game is hit and not get hit,” said Kamangira. The championship featured seven Malawian fighters who competed against their Zimbabwean counterparts. Four Zimbabweans and three Malawian fighters won gold medals. Mike Mando Miwaluwimba from Malawi was the best male fighter while Kudakwashe Chikwature was the best female fighter of the championships. “With the unwavering support we are getting from highly patriotic and private organisations like Heritage Delta, among others, our national kickboxing team is set to fly Zimbabwe’s flag high on quite a number of international platforms. “We appeal in this regard, to our Central Government and the general populace for more support,” said Kamangira. -H-Metro

PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE NOMINATION PAPERS FILED!! Have just successfully filed papers at ZEC. It’s all systems go! A New Great Zimbabwe is loading- Advocate Nelson Chamisa
Gutu – Hundreds of villagers have succuumbed to brutal harassment, beatings, lost cash and property in the last week with Mnangagwa government aloof, it has been revealed.
The thieves have pounced on hapless villagers in area under Chief Makore in Gutu South Constituency and yesterday reportedly had inroads in Chief Mutema area.
People who have been prey to these robbers could hardly explain their losses.
What has puzzled many is that no arrests have been recorded even when reports have been made timeously. ‘Police are not there when we live in terrible times. ‘Not even the sitting MP Togarepi has ever said anything. ‘These people are obscessed with power when we are in abject poverty and robbed’ they fumed. People have reportedly deserted their homes to squarter for safety. Commentators have castigated the second republic for standing aloof when people are suffering. This is a blow to Mnangagwa and his government especially in the run up to watershed elections. CCC is poised to win this year’s elections viz a vis the silence of police and tired Zanu PF leaders.
By Dr Masimba Mavaza -Once again, Zimbabweans are preparing to give a fresh mandate to a deserving party and an excellent man. As elections get closer faster, many parties will be sprouting from all corners to congest the ballot paper. If every party from the MDC is to contest, the ballot paper will be written back to back. MDC has exhausted the alphabet with its synonyms from MDC A to MDC Z, and now it’s called CCC. The CCC is selling Zimbabweans of all ages a dummy. The opposition has blamed the economic downturn on ZANU PF. CCC has shown that Political Perfectionism, this is Specifically, an obsessive-compulsive personality disorder which, is characterized by an illusion of orderliness, perfectionism and excessive devotion to work to the point that they believe in their own lies. The individual is often detail-oriented, and when things do not work out in their favour, they can quickly become angry disruptive and violent. This can manifest as criticism of self and others and in attempts to control situations, and people become dreamers and live in their dreamland. Their campaign has been that ZANU PF has fronted corrupt cadres and is eating into the future of the youth. The youth are being told that they are not employed because ZANU PF has mishandled the economy. Yet there is no alternative they can offer. The opposition, in particular, Nelson Chamisa, has told rally after rally that if he is given Zimbabwe, he will develop the country in three months with the help of the “white men” He told those who were listening that he will have a number of white people rushing to develop Zimbabwe’s economy. This Chamisa said it will only be possible if he is elected president of Zimbabwe. The youth and Zimbabweans at large must step down to reality. The economy can not be improved in three days, and joy comes in the morning. Firstly a party has to be consistent. Being perceived as consistent is a crucial concern for political actors’ in their efforts to mobilize public opinion. Zimbabweans must have an analysis of the self-reflexive performance of consistency by Zimbabwean politicians and their parties, focusing on the definitions and types of ‘consistency’ in political talk and their consequences. A party must illustrate that consistency constitutes spatiotemporal coordination among cognitions, actions (words and deeds), and the external world while also being viewed as potentially transforming political reality. Perceived as a sought-after value indicative of truth-telling, determination, and clarity, political actors view consistency as an essential character trait associated with ideological fortitude and a basis for practical policy realization. Many have been concerned about the ability of citizens to ground their specific political preferences in more general principles. CCC is offering a deal which they say can not be made public. This means there is no manifesto, there is no visible plan, and the alternative is nonexistent. They are selling invisible democracy. To think that CCC is clogged at the top with lawyers is laughable. Looking at all political parties on the round ZANU PF has a longstanding intuition that can help citizens improve the quality of their political opinion. This is understood as the consistency between citizens’ specific opinions and their deeper political values. Citizens have to see what is being offered and compare it with what is being promised. What MDC, which is now CCC was consistent in is breaking up and splitting up and giving unrealistic and invisible promises. The rebranding of the MDC Alliance chapter as a political party, Citizens Coalition for Change, renders itself to the slogan (Chamisa Chete Chete), showing that Chamisa is selfish and power-hungry. The personalization of a political party is consistent with an undemocratic Selfish Satanic outfit. Since CHAMISA ascended to power, he never denounced sanctions earning himself the name “Baba ma Sanctions,”. The sanctions, which are used to kill national prospects, have perpetuated the suffering of multitudes of our people, and this behaviour of supporting sanctions is treasonous. In the coming elections, Zimbabweans are promised more sanctions by a party whose campaign remains fuelled by the request for more sanctions. CHAMISA would use anything that promised to give him power to the extent that Tsvangirai, the movement’s founding father, was undermined by Chamisa, who grabbed power in utter disrespect of the remains of the icon of the opposition movement. He instituted violence to stay in power without legitimacy. He could not retain the name MDC because it meant losing power hence he had to give the new party his own name and totem. If he could become President of Zimbabwe, we run the risk of having the country renamed Moyo State of Chamisa. The nation should be careful what they wish for. Chamisa is a dictator through and through. He has no morals, his well executed sidelining Welshmen Ncube (MDC-N), Tendai Biti (PDP) Job Sikhala (MDC 99 Mangoma Khupe and many staunch CCC stalwarts. The very people who gave Tsvangirai a heart attack are the same people who have been gathered together by CHAMISA to try and rebrand his new political outfit. This is actually urinating on Tsvangirai’s grave. All the politicians he surrounded himself with clearly rebelled against the late Morgan Tsvangirai in a bid to upstage the party and destroy it. Meanwhile Nelson Chamisa appeared loyal and implied disgust at the betrayal, but no, that was not the case. If anything this man is a snake in the grass. If he could have it his way he will befriend anyone for the sake of power, and dump you as soon as the scales tilts to his side.
So come 23rd August 2023 the nation must not be fooled, Nelson Chamisa is leading CCC which for all purposes and intends is simply a foreign controlled outfit. With his unorthodox primary elections he has rendered Biti and many others discredited spend forces desperate to find some political space. The nation cannot be fooled by claims of human rights abuse in order to give way to neo-colonial forces to influence the politics of Zimbabwe. 2023 is coming with all gloves off and knuckles up. On the other side we must realize that since the new dispensation came into office their, most cherished wish and desire ,for which ED and his team laboured with vigour and passion unceasingly ,with firm determination, is to raise the lives of Zimbabweans and create jobs jobs and jobs for every capable person. This is the force which drives ED and he has set a national goal to achieve middle income by 2030. Every hand has been put on the deck with great importance placed on the goal and the desire that our people should attain this goal. This is not only a wish or desire but indeed a possibility. Zimbabweans are having great satisfaction everyday of seeing this goal coming to fruition. The development presided by ED Mnangagwa are all out for to see. MNANGAGWA is a front man who believe in less talk and more action. Zimbabweans must realize that development is a process. It has been seen in the work being done by the new dispensation in developing the economy. We must be guided by the Chinese history of economic growth. Chinese history of growth was not overnight but like China ED is saying we build our own nation. “Nyika inovakwa Nevene vayo.”Sanctions will not stop our resilient fighting spirit. Brick by brick we build Zimbabwe. People must not be fooled by the rhetoric being puked by the CCC whose promise is that the West will come running with money. This is a party with no plan no constitution but planning to enter into power with an empty begging bowl. We must be comforted to know that we are already making inroads in food security through dams and empowering farmers. ED has introduced command agriculture and Pfumvunza giving implements and livestock to capable farmers to revamp our ailing economy. Zimbabwe is now under new management and going through a rigorous economic recovery. Infrastructure has been rehabilitated. Roads buildings dams have all been revamped. Zimbabwe now is halfway to the Middle income goal. Normally, during an economic recovery, gross domestic product (GDP) grows, incomes rise, and unemployment falls as the economy rebounds. Only this year the Civil service has employed over twenty thousand teachers and nurses. The army has recruited and still recruiting. The police and other security organizations have employed thousands of youth. It must be understood that during an economic recovery, the economy undergoes a process of adaptation and adjustment to new conditions, including the factors that triggered the recession in the first place and the new policies and rules implemented by governments and central banks in response to the recession. So the first years of the new dispensation, things got tough, but it was only when things got tough that the tough got going. Recovery is an economy healing itself from the damage done, and it sets the stage for a new expansion. We must not forget Covid19. ED led us out of Covid and we all are seeing the development we are marching through. All we can say is give ED his second term. Let him finish his good works. A good coach does not change a winning team. As we make a decision on whom to vote for in 2023 we must remember that ED is no1: In the end, the recovery can change the patterns of economic activity in an economy, sometimes drastically and sometimes in barely noticeable ways. The economy heals the damage during the preceding parts of the business cycle by reallocating, reusing, and recycling resources into new uses, in an analogous way to how the body breaks down dead and damaged tissue in order to produce new, healthy cells and tissues after an injury. Importantly, in order for the process of recovery to proceed, it is critical that the business and investment liquidations of the recession are carried out and the resources tied up in them are allowed to flow to new uses and new businesses. Eventually, this process of recovery leads to a new phase of growth and expansion once resources have been mostly or fully reallocated across the economy. This is the time the youth see the truth. There will never be a miracle recovery. ZANU PF has set the recovery going. If you want to be employed soon allow ED to finish what he started. Vote ZANU PF and help Zimbabwe claim its bread basket position. Zimbabwe is the only country which we can call ours in the whole world. Iwe neni tine basa. Vote ZANU PF VOTE ED for president.
THE Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association (ZIKA) has appointed Sean Mnangagwa as its patron following a visit by Malawian kickboxers to this country a few days ago.
The visit was aimed at taking ties between the two countries to another level.
The initiative, which is the brainchild of ZIKA, in conjunction with Heritage Delta, was meant to unpack potential long term cooperation channels in culture between the two countries.
Sean, whose background is hinged upon discipline as part of his military profession, is a versatile professional, an army captain. He studied at the University of International Business School and Economics in South Africa majoring in security and business management, Homeland Security, law enforcement, fire-fighting and related protective services between 2008 and 2011.
In an interview he said:“I complement the efforts being made by the Zimbabwe Kickboxing Association in mobilising the youths and inviting foreign countries to take part in such grand initiatives.
“I feel it’s incredibly significant to be a kick boxer. As Bruce Lee once said, ‘It’s better to be a warrior in a garden, than to be a gardener in a war.’“The drill here is to remain physically and spiritually fit.
United States economist and currency expert Steve Hanke has said Zimbabwe’s inflation is at 1298% per year, accusing President Emmerson Mnangagwa of running down the country.
Mnangagwa recently ordered the RBZ to stop foreign currency borrowing, as the government battles to contain a plunge in the local currency, a move Hanke described as ‘economic stupidity’.
“Zimbabwe’s President Mnangagwa is giving a masterclass in economic stupidity and corruption.
“With annual inflation at a whopping 1298% per year, he continues to try to push Zimbabweans to use the Zim dollar. He is leading Zimbabwe to ruins,” Hanke wrote on Twitter.
Mnangagwa faces a tough bid for re-election in the August 23 polls.
The value of Zimbabwe’s currency is falling dramatically by the day, prices are rising and businesses are demanding USD for goods and services.
Consumers have had their local currency value eroded, with an increasing number of basic goods now beyond their reach.
In May, the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZIMSTAT) reported that month on month inflation rose significantly to 15,7% on the back of a sharp increase in prices
ECONET Wireless Zimbabwe, the country’s largest mobile network operator has with effect from today (Tuesday) hiked data bundles by up to 300 percent.
“We are reviewing our ZWL data and SMEs bundle prices effective Tuesday, 20 June 2023,” it said in a brief notice.
An 8 gig private WIFI data bundle now costs ZW$111 342 up from ZW$37 114 while a 15 gig bundle is now available for ZW$201 033 up from ZW$67 011.
According to the network provider, a 25 gig will cost ZW$294 675 from ZW$98 225 and 50 gig users will have to pay ZW$506 106 up from ZW$168 702.
In its abridged consolidated financial statements for the year ended 28 February 2023, the network provider said it acknowledges the various interventions that the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) has granted the sector in a bid to align operating costs with revenue-generating activities.
However, it said tariffs continue to fall behind inflation because of rapid changes in the macro-economic environment.
“This disparity occurs because tariffs for the sector are determined in the local currency, based on movements in inflation and in the exchange rates. This puts significant pressure on operating costs on the backdrop of grid power load shedding challenges.
” The prevailing tariff environment is a threat to the long-term viability of the local telecoms sector and curtails the ability of the sector to invest appropriately to meet customer demand, thereby undermining the quality of service,” it said.
I humbly write to you on the eve of the sitting of the nomination court to inform you that I have considered your plea for my return home to participate in our 2023 electoral processes. I accept the call to run for the Office of President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
My decision to stand as an independent candidate, painful as it is, arises out of two missed opportunities. Both in December 2017 and September 2022, our party Congress failed to allow fair competition for the presidency. As a result, it failed to unite the membership, forgive the past, and reconcile for the future of our glorious revolution. Unfortunately, to this day, notwithstanding a promise to let “bygones be bygones” post-November 2017 and a pledge to “restore the legacy” and values of our liberation movement, we continue to witness exclusionary politics; persecution of members who loyally served the people, the party, the government, and the late founding President, Cde Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
It is unacceptable that the so-called new dispensation has exiled myself and many other comrades over one key disagreement about how the internal succession process ought to have been handled. Our position was and remains clear, that without intimidation, and abuse of state institutions, Cde Mnangagwa could never have won and cannot win any leadership position in a fair and open political process.
Post-November 2017, together, we all gave the “new dispensation” leadership space to govern and to make responsible decisions in uniting the party and the country. In his 2018 campaign, Cde Mnangagwa promised to deliver health care for all, electricity, he promised the youth jobs, he promised educational reforms; he promised modern railway system; he promised to mechanise, modernise and grow the economy; he promised to conduct social and security reforms that predicate our international reengagement needs. On all counts, he has failed on his own promises.
The question for the party is whether Cde Mnangagwa must be allowed to fail for another five years at the expense of the people of Zimbabwe? The country cannot afford another five years of toxic political differences, a failed economy, and social strife. It is time to settle this by throwing this matter back to the people through this election for them to make a choice between fear and hope.
His conduct as party leader and state president is averse to the core values of the liberation movement of inclusive, open, and transparent politics. His tenure and leadership style so far have left our party structures – the Main Wing, the Women’s League, and the Youth League – badly exposed and threatened by corrupt, foreign, hero-worshipping “for ED” structures, which undermine elected national, provincial and district leaders and are disrespectful to our traditional leaders. In his own words, he advised President Mugabe that “the party is not your personal property nor that of your family” and let alone the country.
The leaders of these dodgy “for ED” groups have unlimited access to Cde Mnangagwa and unlimited resources while the party structures remain unfunded. You have witnessed these developments; you have seen the photographs of their flamboyant lives and association with Cde Mnangagwa and you have not been allowed to openly question these shenanigans. We need to renew politics in our country, reassert and give back power to the people. Cde Mnangagwa must give the party a chance to choose between the future and the past, between hope and fear.
Among the issues raised to justify Cde Mnangagwa’s attack on President Mugabe was that the latter was surrounded by criminals. Ironically, the ‘Gold Mafia’ expose, the arrest of public figures at the airport over gold smuggling, the lavish lifestyles of his family, some of whom have never worked a day in their lives, shows that persons very close to Cde Mnangagwa engage in various illicit businesses. The allegations that his family and associates have preferential access to foreign currency at the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe have never been challenged or disproved. It is known that from Sandawana to Makaha his family has taken over gold mining, including having shares in government companies.
The government is silent on diamond exports which are unaccounted for. You are all aware that his family has taken over imports, distribution, and sale of fuel. You are all aware that his family and associates are involved in almost all the multi-billion-dollar Belarus deals. You have seen the obscenity of their sudden wealth, yet they argued that President Mugabe was surrounded by criminals. Despite a ban on export of lithium, you are aware that persons surrounding Cde Mnangagwa are in possession of export permits and that they are exporting it without any money to the treasury. The looting from the state must stop.
The reversal of the indigenisation process and the quiet reversal of the landmark land reform process by returning vast tracts of land to only farmers connected to Cde Mnangagwa, contrary to party congress decisions, is yet another sign of Cde Mnangagwa’s unpreparedness to respect the party structures and resolutions. Such cardinal decisions and resolutions adopted at congress cannot be reversed at the whims and caprices of an individual no matter their designation. Zanu PF is not his personal property.
It has become common cause that once gold and other precious minerals are discovered, the Mnangagwa associates and family move in to claim the deposits ahead of others.
The lived reality of our people is that the RTGS has lost all value. It is simply untrue that the RTGS “is the strongest currency in the region” when its highest denomination cannot buy a loaf of bread. The government itself through the auction rate accepts that the exchange rate is over RTGS 7,000 to the US dollar and continues to free-fall. The Reserve Bank Governor, who promised to resign if his “Bond Note 1:1 gedye” project failed, is still in office. The Minister of Finance who lied to the public that “zvinhu zvakarongeka;” “we have a budget surplus” when in fact people are suffering. The point is simple, the Mnangagwa administration is trying to run the economy through propaganda and not through well-thought-out ideas, properly implemented policies, and government discipline. No one is held accountable for their failures. Cde Mnangagwa selectively rewards the elite of the public service, yet the generality of the civil service is wallowing in abject poverty despite their spirited loyalty and patriotism. No attempt has been made to explain why Cde Mnangagwa can buy over 800 campaign vehicles but cannot provide ambulances, cancer machines at our referral hospitals. This speaks to his indifference to the suffering of Zimbabweans.
Comrades, the problems associated with a Mnangagwa presidency are known; the solution is a return to the values of the liberation movement of; the right of our people to choose their own leaders – in and outside Zanu PF; unity; gender, racial, and ethnic equality of all Zimbabweans; the ownership of and benefit from national resources ahead of foreigners. The respite our people felt politically, socially, and economically during the Government of National Unity period of 2009 -2013 should be a permanent experience borne out of an inclusive governance culture, ushered in by a generational consensus. Zimbabweans must find each other through an Intra-Zimbabwe Dialogue process beyond the politics of conquest predicated by our highly competitive and often toxic and disputed electoral politics. I intend to lead or to be an integral part of this constructive engagement process beyond this bid for the highest office.
Comrades,
♦ It’s time to Renew the country’s leadership, enshrine a new vision and aspirations to restore Zimbabwe’s glory. Zimbabwe must take its place amongst the world’s community of nations and as a responsible member of the international community. We need to implement and uphold the Constitution and respect the rights of all citizens.
♦ It’s time to Reconcile. To put our past differences aside and embrace one another while acknowledging our failures and repair the damage that has been caused internally and externally.
We must ensure a united approach to combat the twin evils of sanctions and corruption. The Gukurahundi question requires a permanent resolution, and peaceful closure, as with other past conflicts in our history. As the saying goes, united we stand, divided we fall.
♦ It’s time to Reform our national institutions so that they deliver for the benefit of the majority in a transparent and accountable manner. We are called upon to strengthen institutions in line with the Constitution and in alignment with the Pan-African and international standards. Abuse of national institutions must stop.
♦ It’s time to Revive Zimbabwe in an inclusive economic renaissance that incorporates all and leaves no one behind. We must empower the majority to ensure that everyone plays their part as agents of development. Zimbabweans should be at the core of the exploitation of national resources and economic growth. Zimbabwe belongs to all of us.
♦ It’s time to Rebuild. Zimbabwe which has a rich heritage of builders manifest in the ancient city of Great Zimbabwe. Let’s ignite the full potential of Zimbabweans to participate in the infrastructural revolution that lies ahead of us.
My dear comrades, I have written to illustrate some of the challenges we face. In so doing, I have taken the extraordinary step in these extraordinary times to make myself available for election to the office of the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe.
I will be standing as an Independent Candidate in the August 23, 2023, national elections. In so doing, I will be proceeding to file my candidature in the nomination court in Harare on June 21, 2023.
Please join me in the fight against fear and the pursuit of renewed hope for our beloved country, Zimbabwe. God bless Zimbabwe and all her people.
By- CCC deputy President and Harare East legislator Tendai Bit has reportedly lost the party’s internal contest to represent the opposition party in the 23 August elections. CCC Sunday finalised its internal election process to select its parliamentary candidate in Harare, with Biti locking horns with Harare North MP Allan Markham
Markham reportedly won the race to represent CCC in Harare East Constituency in national elections due 23 August this year. It will be the first time in 23 years that the former Minister of Finance will not be part of the country’s legislative house.
However, a video of the CCC Harare East’s candidate selection process announced by a party official shows that Biti won over Markham. The official emphasized that those who garnered more votes were not necessarily the winners as there are criteria that will be used to determine the CCC candidates for the elections.
By- The jailed Mai TT would miss the Winter Warmer Concert, set for Harare Gardens on July 2, which was planned to feature her celebrating her birthday.
Mai TT was set to celebrate her birthday at this family event, headlined by sungura giant Alick Macheso, Dorcas Moyo and Mathias Mhere.
The event organiser, however, said the show would go as planned despite comedienne Mai TT’s incarceration.
After Mai TT’s nine-months imprisonment for theft of trust property last week, questions have been raised on whether the show will continue. Speaking to H-Metro Sunday, event organiser Samuel “Boss Werras” Saungweme said they were still going to celebrate Mai TT’s birthday. “The show continues as planned. “We have a huge line-up and Mai TT was part of the event to celebrate her birthday and we will still honour that even in her absence. “The performing artists are still there. “We are not going to abandon the plans, we are going to honour her while she is in prison. “We are also going to engage relevant authorities and see if she can send a message to her fans when we visit her one of the days,” said Boss Werras.
CHECHECHE – Villagers from Checheche in Chipinge are angry with the imposition of businessman Enock Porusingazi as the ruling party candidate for the August 23, 2023 elections.
Speaking in interviews with The Mirror, the villagers said that Porusingazi lost the primary elections because the electorate no longer wanted him. They accused him of not initiating any development projects in the area in his current term Porusingazi lost the ruling party’s elections to Robert Nyemudzo but the latter was immediately arrested for brewing illicit beer and disqualified from the primaries. Porusingazi who came second automatically became the party candidate.
Combined Checheche Resident Association chairperson Win Bhila said imposed leaders do not have the interest of the community at heart.
“As a resident association, we want leaders who are community driven and chosen by the community. It’s the community which needs representation so we must choose leaders of our choice. Imposition of leaders by political parties is wrong. Those leaders don’t serve the interests of the community or the constituency. At times we are given bad leaders,” he said.
Porusingazi said he has done a lot of projects in the constituency and the electorate should be educated on the roles of an MP.
“I have done a lot of projects for this constituency. Residents should understand that they are the primary beneficiaries of everything that i have done. I recently constructed a male ward at St Peters Mission Hospital and currently i am rehabilitating the Checheche-Mabeye Road with the help of a private partner since the project requires a lot of money. I have drilled over 200 boreholes in the constituency and constructed a classroom block at Checheche High School among many other projects. The electorate should be educated on the role of an MP which is to make laws and not not rehabilitate roads,” said Porusungazi…Chipinge Times
MASVINGO – Chief Gutu like any other traditional leader has no authority to preside over defamation cases.
This is contained in an appeal document filed by CCC aspiring candidate Anderson Singende who was fined four beasts by Chief Gutu born Amon Masanganise for allegedly defaming Zanu PF councillor for Ward 38 in Gutu Takawira Chezhira and a married woman Priviledge Vanda who he is said to be having an adulterous affair with.
In an appeal filed by his lawyer Knowledge Mabvure of Chihambakwe Law Chambers, Singende said in his grounds of appeal that Chief Gutu’s court erred in entertaining a claim which he lacks jurisdiction over.
Singende was found guilty of spreading falsehoods that Chezhira was caught red-handed with Vanda…Masvingo Mirror
President Emmerson Mnangagwa has taken a swipe at the country’s detractors who seek to destabilise the country’s economy and inflict suffering on Zimbabweans.
He was speaking at the Bernard Mizeki commemorations in Marondera this Saturday, where he joined Anglican Church congregates in celebrating the life and ministry of a saint.
Upon arrival, President Mnangagwa led a tree-planting exercise at the shrine followed by a procession which ushered guests and congregates into a mass and Holy Communion.
The excellent relations between the government and the church were on display, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa reminding stakeholders to be vigilant as the country’s detractors are working round the clock to destabilise the country’s economy.
“Let’s also remain steadfast against the onslaught by our detractors who seek to hurt our economy and inflict suffering on all of us. Such greedy, divisive and harmful tendencies are ungodly. Our collective energies, skills, ideas and competencies must be directed towards building a prosperous, modern and industrialised Zimbabwe,” he said.
Turning to the forthcoming general elections, President Mnangagwa said churches must continue to preach and pray for peace and unity during the election period.
“In Keeping with our national Constitution, our country will be holding General elections on the 23rd of August 2023. In this regard, I appeal to the Anglican Church and other churches throughout our beloved motherland, Zimbabwe to preach and pray for peace, unity and love; before, during and after elections. No one must tell us about having peaceful elections but ourselves because it is what we want. Christian denominations must build bridges,” the President said.
President Mnangagwa reminded Zimbabweans that it is everyone’s responsibility to fight the menace of drug and substance abuse.
“As a nation, right from the community and family levels, we all have to help in fighting the menace of drug and substance abuse which is destroying some of our young people. The Bible says in Proverbs 22 verse 6, ‘Train up Children in the way they should go and even when they are old they will not turn from it’. The church is encouraged to design programmes and activities that attract young people and the youth to be more involved in healthy and productive activities. Pasi nemutoriro, pasi neguka. At the family and school level, we must remain guided by Proverbs 13 verse 24 which states that “whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them” vana vane musikanzwa ngavarohwe kusvika vati Tasa,” he said.
The President expressed gratitude at the invitation by the church to celebrate the life of Bernard Mizeki which saw him interacting with multitudes, ahead of the 23rd of August elections.

South African top-flight giants Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are interested in signing Warriors international Kundai Benyu.
The 25-year-old England-born midfielder is currently a free agent after leaving Icelandic side ÍBV Vestmannaeyjar in January this year.

“I handled myself well there so there is nothing stopping me from showing what I’m capable of doing in South Africa. Obviously, it will be a challenge, I need to adjust because I know every league is different.”
He added: “South Africa is just around the corner from Zimbabwe. I have a lot of family members in Zim. The interest from South African teams is more serious.
“It will be a difficult decision, there is a lot to take in. But whenever I have a gut feeling about something I go for it.
“Personally I want to do as much as I can do in South Africa. I feel I’m at an age where I’m coming into my prime and hopefully, achieve something in the African Champions League. I’m sure I’ll reach a decision that I’ll be happy with.”- Soccer24 News
