CCC will not win rigged elections

By Nomusa Garikai| “What will be the nature of the NTA and from which party will these so called technocrats come from? I think you need to write an article solely clarifying your NTA idea.

According to Jonso ZANU PF cannot and will not reform itself out of power. In Africa any NTA is naturally headed by the army and in Zimbabwe’s case we know who controls the levers of power and that person is now an ex officio member of the Politburo,” commented Prudence Paula Tete.

You are right, Zanu PF will never reform itself out of office or ever allow any meaningful democratic reforms to be implemented to dismantle the now well established Zanu PF autocracy. If Zanu PF is in the new GNU or NTA, we can be certain of one thing they will be there to throw the spinner in the works at every opportunity.

Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office, the ministerial limos, very generous salaries and allowances, a US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai himself, etc., etc. It worked! No even the constant nagging by SADC leaders such as Minister Lindiwe Zulu could get MDC leaders to implement even one token reform.

MDC leaders have managed to get away with the treasonous betrayal of failing to implement even one reform because most Zimbabweans had no clue the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement reforms. They did not know what the reforms are much less how they are implemented. Even to this day most people do not know what the reforms are much less that MDC/CCC leaders sold out.

MDC/CCC have taken full advantage of the people’s ignorance to create the narrative the nation does not need reforms implemented because they, the opposition, have devised winning in rigged elections strategies. “God is in it!” Chamisa has often argued. The ignorant and gullible public have swallowed the hook, sinker and line.

How anyone would give up their right to free and fair elections for the oxymoronic promise of winning rigged elections, beggars belief; especially after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections!

Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends are not interested in implementing any reforms but they also know they will not win rigged elections. They have been participating in flawed elections knowing this will give Zanu PF legitimacy; they did care as long as they win a few gravy train seats making them the country’s main opposition.

MDC/CCC know that 43 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption have left the country in economic ruins and the people desperate for change. They will wait for Zanu PF to burn the country down or for the people to risk all in violent protests, which ever comes first, to deliver power to them in a silver platter.

If CCC ever got into power, their number one priority would be to consolidate their hold on power by making sure the key players in the Zanu PF autocracy switch their allegiance to CCC. Indeed, one of the reasons MDC failed to implement any meaning reforms during the 2008 GNU was the belief MDC could talk the top brass in the Army, Police and CIO to switch by promising them all the benefits they were getting from Zanu PF!

The solution for Zimbabwe must be a NTA composed of technocrats who can be trusted to implement all the reforms. This is not  viable solution only because many people fear that Zanu PF will make the country ungovernable. The only relevant question one must therefore ask is: Are we going to let Zanu PF hold this nation to ransom?

“I am negotiating with the state for Sikhala’s release”: Tshabangu

By A Correspondent- Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed Secretary General of Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has pledged to work towards securing the release of imprisoned opposition member Job Sikhala. Tshabangu holds the top leadership and Nelson Chamisa accountable for Sikhala’s continued incarceration.

Sikhala has been in prison since June 2022, facing charges of inciting violence during a funeral wake for a slain CCC activist, Moreblessing Ali. He had multiple unsuccessful attempts to obtain bail.

Tshabangu revealed in an interview with local radio station ZiFM Stereo that he plans to send a delegation from CCC to negotiate Sikhala’s release. Tshabangu believes that a political solution is necessary for Sikhala’s freedom. He said:

I am negotiating with the State for Sikhala’s release. I will be sending a delegation to meet the State authorities that Job is not supposed to be where he is because he was thrown under the bus by our movement and this is sad that our movement can go and visit Sikhala and cry and yawn for his release yet they know behind their back.

I am saying this because I am inside CCC. I will be meeting Ziyambi Ziyambi, the minister of justice. I will also be meeting in the near future Obert Mpofu, the Secretary General of Zanu PF. These are the people that I have sent emissaries to meet with. It is underway.

Tshabangu revealed that he is seeking the support of the regional organisation, Southern African Development Community (SADC), regarding Job Sikhala’s imprisonment. Nelson Chamisa has also mentioned that they have reached out to SADC and the African Union (AU) for assistance, but have not received a response. Tshabangu argued that pursuing legal avenues has been ineffective since Sikhala is considered a political prisoner, similar to Nelson Mandela during the apartheid era in South Africa. He added:

A political prisoner is different from a criminal. We are going to negotiate. I have written to SADC. I have informed them that we are engaging Zanu PF for the release of Job Sikhala. So we will be sending a delegation to SADC for the summit. They will be talking about Job Sikhala’s release. We have tried legally, we have failed.

Tshabangu accused Nelson Chamisa’s associates of being responsible for Job Sikhala’s continued imprisonment. Sikhala has been in pre-trial detention since June 2022 and celebrated his 50th and 51st birthdays in Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison. Tshabangu claimed that individuals with criminal backgrounds influenced Chamisa to avoid pursuing a political solution for Sikhala’s release.

US$5 million budget for by- elections

The Government last week approved a US$5 million budget for the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to conduct the by-elections to fill nine vacant seats in the National Assembly that were prompted by the expulsion of the opposition legislators last month.

ZEC deputy chairperson Ambassador Rodney Kiwa told The Sunday Mail that the approved budget also covers funding for the Gutu West by-election scheduled for Saturday. Voting in the constituency was postponed following the death of a duly nominated candidate, Cde Christopher Rwodzi, before the August 23-24 harmonised elections. Kiwa said:

The budget required for the 2023 by-elections is US$5,3 million, equivalent to $35 billion.

The commission is prepared to conduct the by-elections comfortably without any challenges.

We began preparations for the Nomination Court when President Mnangagwa proclaimed dates for the by-elections.

We have authorised signatures (of party officials) from the parties that we will use to receive nomination papers from prospective candidates.

Kiwa announced that each National Assembly candidate will need to pay a nomination fee of US$1,000. Only those who registered to vote before October 25 will be eligible to vote in the by-elections. The voter registration system is ongoing, but the voters’ roll for the by-elections closed two days after the proclamation of the elections on October 23.

The Nomination Court will meet on Tuesday to receive nomination papers from candidates for the December 9 by-elections. The way is clear for the by-elections to proceed after the High Court rejected an application by 23 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) members who wanted to overturn their recalls from Parliament. The recalls were made by CCC’s self-proclaimed interim secretary-general, Mr. Sengezo Tshabangu.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is now finalizing preparations for the elections, which will be held in Beitbridge West, Binga North, Bulawayo South, Cowdray Park, Lobengula-Magwegwe, Lupane East, Mabvuku-Tafara, Mpopoma-Mzilikazi and Nketa.

Former Zanu PF MP Faces Arrest For Forging Court Papers

By A Correspondent| Former Zanu PF Mt Pleasant legislator Jason Passade has come under fire for allegedly forging court papers in which he allegedly won a land ownership battle.

The land under spotlight has residential stands at Donnybrook Farm near Mabvuku in Harare.

Passade recently lost the legal battle over ownership of residential stands at Donnybrook Farm near Mabvuku in Harare.

However, Passade allegedly forged papers stating that he had won the case.

“It’s so sad that a former MP is stooping to those levels. If he was going to appeal he must have approached the Supreme Court the same court can’t give a judgement dismissing a case made in the same court. He is likely going to be arrested because the case was reported to police and ZACC,” a close source said.

A local land developing company, Eastwind Trust recently took Passad and his company Homegram to court for grabbing the land.

High Court judge Benjamin Chikowero on October 11 ordered the ex-MP to vacate the land.

“The first and second respondents shall restore to the applicant possession of all and any land occupied, possessed controlled by the applicant situate at the remainder of Donnybrook Farm Salisbury Township in Mabvuku Tafara.

“It further ordered that the Sheriff of Zimbabwe with the assistance of police where necessary shall restore to the applicant peaceful and undisturbed possession and occupation of the land,” read part of the judgment.

Homegram Investments Pvt Ltd and Passade were also ordered to jointly pay the applicants’ legal costs.

Zimbabwe Wakes Up Without A President

The Chaotic Aftermath: Zim’s Presidentless Nation.

Holing up inside his hotel … Emmerson Mnangagwa- file picture

By Ronita Mbanjwa | ZimEye | Zimbabweans today wake up in a state of utter chaos and confusion as the nation grapples with the absence of a recognized president. The turmoil began after Emmerson Mnangagwa, who inaugurated himself on September 5, 2023, was stripped of all presidential recognition, leading to a bizarre situation where he now requires journalists to instruct him on what to utter on camera, and even then, what he says is totally scattered in both sense and content.

The political crisis unfolded as a result of a long-standing power struggle within Zimbabwe’s political landscape. Mnangagwa, once considered a symbol of hope for the nation, embarked on a path of authoritarianism and corruption that led to widespread discontent. Faced with growing public outrage, the international community swiftly disavowed his presidency, refusing to recognize him as the legitimate leader of the country.

With no clear head of state, the nation plunged into disarray. The absence of a functioning government has resulted in a severe breakdown of law and order. Basic services like healthcare, education, and infrastructure maintenance have ground to a halt, leaving the people of Zimbabwe in a dire state of uncertainty.

Mnangagwa’s bizarre public appearances have further fueled the confusion. Journalists are now tasked with instructing him on what to say, as his statements are often incoherent, contradictory, and sometimes entirely unrelated to the questions posed to him. This unprecedented situation has left the citizens of Zimbabwe and the international community scratching their heads in disbelief.

The vacuum of leadership has also created an opportunity for rival factions and political figures to vie for control, intensifying the chaos within the nation. The once stable nation of Zimbabwe has now become a battleground for those seeking to fill the power vacuum left by Mnangagwa’s fall from grace.

While the world watches in dismay, Zimbabweans find themselves caught in the midst of this turmoil, facing an uncertain and perilous future. The hope for a peaceful transition to a stable government remains a distant dream, as the chaos and confusion continue to grip the nation, with no end in sight.

In the absence of a recognized president, Zimbabwe faces an unprecedented crisis, leaving its citizens in turmoil and its future uncertain. The chaotic aftermath of Mnangagwa’s fall from power serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of unchecked authoritarianism and the importance of a functioning government in maintaining stability and order within a nation.

This is a scenario that can only be described as a political horror show, politicians aligned with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government are feeling the pressure as they face the consequences of their 2-month-old claims that ZANU PF won the 2023 elections. The shocking reality, now coming to light, is that these politicians allegedly utilized soldiers to rig the election. As the regional body, SADC (Southern African Development Community), has turned its focus on this matter, a chilling silence has fallen over the ZANU PF camp.

One of the most striking aspects of this silence is the muted response from key figures in the ZANU PF leadership. Christopher Mutsvangwa, the ZANU PF Spokesman, has fallen eerily silent, refraining from commenting on the unfolding situation. Even the exiled propaganda mastermind, Professor Jonathan Moyo, who is known for his active presence on social media, has not sent out a single tweet regarding the allegations.

Perhaps the most baffling disappearance from the public eye is that of George Charamba, Mnangagwa’s own spokesman. It’s as if he has lost his phone or gone into hiding, leaving many to wonder, “What’s up with George Charamba?”

The story takes an even more surreal turn with reports of President Emmerson Mnangagwa receiving instructions from his journalist, Reuben Barwe, who wasn’t even present at the SADC Extraordinary Summit. This peculiar conversation between the two sheds light on the gravity of the situation.

**REUBEN BARWE:** Comrade President! Comrade President! How did it go?

**EMMERSON MNANGAGWA:** Excellent, excellent! We had a very successful SADC Summit. Yes!

**REUBEN BARWE:** Any of those pretenders who might have wanted to smuggle issues over here, did they get?

**EMMERSON MNANGAGWA:** No, these things happen in society, not everybody is a Priest, so you find these things happen, but we are so alert that we had gone to deal with the things that are relevant to the Summit which was called, things that were called, this is extra ordinary which means there was a particular subject here to discuss.

**REUBEN BARWE:** Only DRC issues?

**EMMERSON MNANGAGWA:** Absolutely!

The stark contrast between the official statements and the underlying realities paints a haunting picture. As SADC tightens its grip on Mnangagwa and his allies, they are undoubtedly trapped in a nightmarish predicament, with the truth lurking in the shadows, waiting to emerge.

Speaking on Sunday, Dr Matthew Nyashanu told ZimEye, Mr Mnangagwa has trapped himself and his only way out is talking to Nelson Chamisa. “Before investors can trade or they can have any confidence with any governments in Southern Africa, one of the things they will do is to engage with SADC to see how SADC rates the political terrain of that particular country. It will be not useful for Mr Mnangagwa not to engage with the opposition, this is the truth. And this is why we are having people being beaten in Zimbabwe today months after the election. It is because they are fighting for legitimacy, if they had won really, we should have seen them rolling out some economic plans. They are not doing that, they are trying to roll out plans to kill the opposition. You cannot kill an opposition that defeated you on the election, that has more legitimacy than you.”

Reece James For Real Madrid?

Chelsea are reportedly unlikely to entertain any sort of approach for club captain Reece James, despite recent links to Real Madrid.

The defender has struggled for fitness so far this season but is still incredibly highly rated at Stamford Bridge and has the full support of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Following the departure of Cesar Azpilicueta over the summer, Pochettino decided to overlook the more experienced figures in his dressing room and opted to name James as his captain, with Ben Chilwell offering support as his vice.

The 23-year-old has played just 105 minutes in the Premier League since receiving the armband, with injuries continuing to hinder the progress of the right-back. Despite that, James still has admirers around Europe – with Real Madrid routinely linked with acquiring the services of the defender and reportedly believing the defender can be a success like Jude Bellingham.

With Daniel Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez both over 30, Los Blancos are looking to bring in a new long-term right-back who can provide stability in their backline in the long term. James has been labelled world-class by Pochettino and would join fellow Englishman Jude Bellingham at the Santiago Bernabeu as an elite-level England international plying their trade in Spain’s capital.-The Express

High Court Turns Down CCC MPs Application

Zimbabwe High Court Dismisses CCC Party Legislators’ and Senators’ Application for Parliamentary Reinstatement

Harare, Zimbabwe – November 4, 2023

Zimbabwe’s High Court has ruled against an application filed by 14 legislators from the CCC (Citizens for Constitutional Change) party and 9 CCC senators who were seeking reinstatement to the parliamentary assembly. The legislators and senators had sued for their return to parliament after they were removed from their positions.

Mr. Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the interim secretary general of the CCC party, obtained the legislators’ removal via a letter to the Speaker Of Parliament.

We have received the judgment of the High Court, and our lawyers are still studying it. We will provide a comprehensive statement regarding the same. We want to reiterate that Tshabangu is not a member of CCC, and the party CCC which is led by President Nelson Chamisa has not initiated any recall of a Member of Parliament or Senate.

GMB failure to pay farmers affects new season preparation

The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) has failed to pay farmers the outstanding ZWL$54 billion several months after they sold grain to the parastatal.

With the 2023/24 summer cropping season just around the corner, GMB’s failure to pay farmers has likely hampered preparations for the new season.

Zimbabwe Farmers Union (ZFU) executive director Paul Zakariya said the issue of delayed payments has negatively impacted farmers’ cash flow. Business Times quoted Zakariya as saying:

We are at a stage where farmers would require to ensure that cash flows continue to be positive on the farms and that they meet other expenses like labour costs and repairs to machinery and equipment as well as ensuring that the farms are ticking so these delayed payments have actually become quite a bother on many operations.

Last week, GMB finance director Clemence Guta told Parliament that of the outstanding payments, ZWL$ 21 billion was for maize deliveries. Said Guta:

We have an outstanding balance of ZWL$54bn of which ZWL$21bn relates to maize deliveries and we got US$ 25mn which is outstanding as well about US$ 8.7mn relates to traditional grains with the balance being for wheat deliveries…

We are continuously pursuing the Treasury so that they release funds so that our farmers are able to go back to the fields.

He also said the GMB has started inputs for the Presidential input scheme but was lagging behind in terms of payments to transporters.

Harare cop in soup over bogus association

A Harare based police officer has appeared in court on allegations of forming a bogus commuter omnibus association which facilitated the operation of commuter omnibuses without requisite documents and requirements.

Shepherd Jaricha was facing criminal abuse of office charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi.

He was released on US$100 bail.

It is the State’s case that on an unknown date to the prosecutor, but during the month of October, Jaricha who is a member of the Zimbabwe Republic Police and therefore is a public officer, intentionally formed a commuter omnibus operators’ association named KR JARICHA, which facilitated the operation of commuter omnibuses without requisite documents and requirements in terms of the Road Traffic Act and the Road Motor Transportation Act.

The commuter omnibuses were allegedly plying several routes around Harare into the Central Business District.

The court heard that Jaricha would also provide information on traffic police operations to members of his bogus association, thereby defeating the efforts of the police in bringing sanity to the roads in Greater Harare.

His actions were allegedly contrary to or inconsistent with his duties as a public officer.

Jaricha allegedly took part in the management or control of a private voluntary organisation KR JARICHA, knowing that the organisation was carrying out activities and seeking financial assistance from members of the association which was not registered. The Herald

Former minister entangled in land grab storm

By A Correspondent- Former State Security minister Didymus Mutasa is embroiled in a land grab storm at the 700 hectare Zingondi farm in Rusape where he is seeking to evict 39 land permit holders.

The farmers have accused Mutasa of threatening to grab their land despite them having permits.

Mutasa, who was once regarded as the Zanu PF godfather in Manicaland at the height of his political career, also has his own permit that gives him ownership of the largest part of the farm he was allocated when he was the Lands minister.

The 39 permit holders have five hectares each.

The land is said to be held by Muungwe Investments Private Limited and being developed by Brobondo Private Limited.

The affected plotholders told this publication that Mutasa, through land developer Brobondo Private Limited, has threatened to evict them.

The former Zanu PF politburo member is said to be planning to turn the land into a residential area.

“After the 2023 elections, a grader came to service the area for the purposes of developing residential stands at the farm, but we were told that they are going to come to our areas,” said one permit holder who refused to be named.

“We have the backing of Chief Tandi who is saying the land belongs to us yet Mutasa wants to take the land that belongs to us.”

Mutasa on Friday did not deny the claims and said he bought the land some years back.

“Part of that is true, l bought that land,” Mutasa said.

“I want to redevelop that land into residential stands.

“We want to build low density suburbs for them, and we want to build good houses for them.

“l don’t think there is anything wrong with building good houses for people.”

The project, known as Brobondo, will compromise 2 000 low density stands, a hotel, recreational spaces, schools, service stations according to Makoni Rural District Council.

The land in question falls on the boundary of the two local authorities across Rusape Dam and along the Rusape-Wedza Highway.

Servicing of the stands has already started.

Mutasa was expelled from Zanu PF in 2015 at the height of factional fights under the late strongman Robert Mugabe.

He has since been readmitted into the ruling party. The Standard

OK Zimbabwe commends RBZ move

By A Correspondent- Leading retailer, OK Zimbabwe Limited has commended the central bank for scrapping the 10% limit on the exchange rates saying such a move will go a long way to spur the group’s recovery.

Presenting a trading update during the OK Zimbabwe 22nd Annual General Meeting Friday, the top retailer commended authorities for the policy position.

“The Group further welcomes the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Monetary Policy Committee’s recommendations on removing the 10% limit on the exchange rate used by formal retailers and the removal of IMTT on bank card transactions.

“We await the promulgation of the necessary legal instruments to effect these positive changes; macroeconomic stability will be critical in helping the Group recover lost volume base,” the retailer said.

The retail giant also commended the government for taking a bold stance in extending the US$ usage up to 2030.

The policy directive allowing the usage of the greenback was due to expire in 2025, prompting many banks and financiers to withhold the extension of US$ loans amid speculation that the government intended to re-introduce a ZWL mono-currency system.

But President Emmerson Mnangagwa last week moved to announce the extension of the US$ usage to 2030 in a development which restored confidence in the economy.

“The group welcomes the move by the President of the Republic to extend the multicurrency system to 2030. The certainty of the currency system will aid in renewing market confidence and assist in business planning processes,” the retail giant added. NewZimbabwe

Arrest warrant for CCC member

By A Correspondent- A Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Matabeleland South senior member has been issued with a warrant of arrest after he failed to attend court last week.

Solani Moyo, the CCC interim provincial chairperson, is facing charges of disorderly conduct after he allegedly snatched Zanu PF cell registers on election day and drove away.

Moyo was expected to appear in court last Thursday, but did not turn up forcing Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware to issue the warrant of arrest.

According to court papers, on August 23, Moyo saw six Zanu PF officials seated near Mazalingwe Secondary School and approached them.

He allegedly asked them what they were doing near a polling station and they ignored him.

Moyo, who was in the company of other CCC activists, allegedly seized the Zanu PF cell registers and drove off. Southern Eye

ARTUZ leader not yet off the hook over 2016 murder

By A Correspondent- Police in Harare have said they are yet to complete investigations into Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union (Artuz) leader Obert Musaraure’s 2016 murder case.

Masaraure is alleged to have killed activist Roy Issa at a city hotel on June 1, 2016 following a beer-drinking spree.

The State alleges that to conceal the offence, Masaraure and his accomplices claimed that Issa jumped off the hotel window, resulting in his death.

Yesterday, magistrate Dennis Mangosi postponed the matter to November 7 after police said investigations were not complete.

Masaraure, who is being represented by Doug Coltart, opposed the postponement saying it was not justified.

Coltart said police had initially said investigations would be completed before July 19, 2022.

“Surely how could the police take seven years to investigate? There is no evidence before the court,” Coltart argued.

“The application for postponement is not necessary. The police can simply summon the accused when they are ready.”

The defence filed written submissions opposing the application for postponement of the case, saying the court should make a ruling on the application on the next remand date.

An inquest into Issa’s death ruled out foul play and the case was closed.

However, Masaraure was arrested at Harare Central Police Station last year where he had gone to fulfil his routine bail conditions for another case.

Mnangagwa Sets By-Election Nomination Court Sitting Date

By James Gwati- The Emerson Mnangagwa-led administration has scheduled the Nomination Court to convene on Tuesday to receive nomination papers from the December 9 by-election.

This follows President Mnangawa’s allocation of US$5 million budget to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to conduct by-elections to fill empty seats in the National Assembly.

These vacancies arose following the expulsion of several opposition legislators last month.

Challenges have emerged as CCC President Nelson Chamisa criticized the move, branding the upcoming by-election as illegitimate due to his party’s alleged non-involvement in the recall of any MPs.

The decision comes in the aftermath of the High Court’s dismissal of an appeal filed by 23 members of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) seeking to overturn their recalls from Parliament.

Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim secretary-general of CCC, instigated the recall of 14 legislators, including six elected through proportional representation, alongside nine senators and 17 councillors.

In response, the legislators approached the High Court, but their application was dismissed by Justice Munamato Mutevedzi, who found their evidence insufficient to challenge the recalls.

Consequently, the electoral process is now set in motion, with ZEC in the final stages of logistical preparations for the scheduled polls.

The by-elections will take place in Beitbridge West, Binga North, Bulawayo South, Cowdray Park, Lobengula-Magwegwe, Lupane East, Mabvuku-Tafara, Mpopoma-Mzilikazi, and Nketa constituencies.

Speaking to The Sunday Mail, ZEC deputy chairperson Rodney Kiwa confirmed that the approved budget also includes funds for the Gutu West by-election, delayed due to the untimely passing of a nominated candidate, Christopher Rwodzi.

Kiwa specified, “The budget required for the 2023 by-elections is US$5.3 million, equivalent to $35 billion. All other necessary materials such as ballot papers, stationery, tents, lights, and ink are readily available. The commission is fully equipped to manage the upcoming by-elections without any impediments.”

Additionally, the Nomination Court’s requirements have been duly met, as confirmed by Kiwa, who stated, “We have authorized signatures (of party officials) from the parties that we will use to receive nomination papers from prospective candidates.” Each National Assembly candidate is expected to pay a US$1,000 nomination fee.

Moreover, only those who registered to vote before October 25 will be eligible to cast their ballots during the by-elections.

The voter registration system remains open, with the voters’ roll for the upcoming by-elections having closed two days after the proclamation on October 23.

Justice Mutevedzi’s ruling underscores the importance of a political party’s constitution, highlighting the potential risks associated with the absence of a proper framework. The judgment emphasized that the power of recall from Parliament, as per the Constitution’s Section 129(1) (k), lies with the concerned political party. Consequently, a recalled Member of Parliament cannot challenge their recall without the involvement of the respective party.

The CCC, in response to the ruling, announced that its legal team is currently analyzing the judgment and will issue a comprehensive statement in due course.

Mnangagwa Allocates US$5 Million for Controversial By-Election

By James Gwati-The Zanu PF government has given the green light for a substantial US$5 million budget to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to conduct by-elections to fill empty seats in the National Assembly.

These vacancies arose following the expulsion of several opposition legislators last month.

Challenges have emerged as CCC President Nelson Chamisa criticized the move, branding the upcoming by-election as illegitimate due to his party’s alleged non-involvement in the recall of any MPs.

Resilience Behind Bars: A Reflection on Seven Months in Prison

By Jacob Ngarivhume

It is seven months since magistrate Feresi Chakanyuka sentenced me to four years in prison for “calling for anti-corruption demonstrations”. One year was suspended and am effectively serving three years.

Yes in 2020 I called for peaceful anti corruption demonstrations. I take no regrets about that. The huge irony of it all is the fact that I was convicted for “tweeting” an inciting “tweet” on a Twitter account I never owned. Infact the twitter account that is on my charge sheet @ngarivhume does not exist. You can check for yourself. No member of the big Ngarivhume family when own such a Twitter account.

In my case neither the police nor state ever tried to check and verify with Twitter whose account @ngarivhume really is. They still managed to convict, not because of any evidence but because they are everything, they have all it takes to sentence citizens they take to be enemies. One attribute they have which they always draw on is they have no human heart towards their perceived opponents. And I do not expect them to have anyway.

When I came to prison, my legal team assured me that they won’t take days to secure my release, I was sceptical because I read the anger in Feresu Chakanyuka’s judgement. She was angry and bitter. The case was now personal to her. This, coupled with the many threatening messages I received run up to the judgement I just knew that I was going away for a while.

We went to the High court to seek bail pending appeal. It took more than six weeks for the record to be printed and signed by the convicting magistrate Chakanyuka. I instructed my legal team to go to the High court without a printed document. It was only at that time that Chakanyuka signed the copy.

The bail hearing at the High court further confirmed my reading of the mood of the regime to punish me for fighting corruption. Justice Chikowero handed out an emotional judgement, using words like ‘foolish’ and ‘nonsense’ referring to my legal team arguments. Prof Madhuku is one of the leading constitutional law experts in the county having taught most of them at the University of Zimbabwe in one way or another. Moses Nkomo too is a fine lawyer.

The long and short of the matter is that seven months down the line I am still waiting for my appeal to be heard in the high court. I don’t have much hope though, the outcome is not based on facts, but on political decisions from those who take us as enemies of the state.

When I settled here at Harare Central Prison, the early days were as dark as they can ever be. I have been in Zimbabwean prisons before and I know the conditions. I am not new to them. Making these conditions ‘home’ for the next three years takes huge fortitude and fighting spirit. There was effort to discriminate against me as an “opposition prisoner”. I resisted that.

Prison conditions are hell. Interestingly none of the judiciary officials ever visit our prisons. They never imagine themselves in these prisons ever, as long as they work with existing regimes.

To overcome and keep going I have to draw deep from my convictions that have built over the years of fighting dictatorship and injustice. It is not easy though. You’re surrounded by angry people all over. People who never imagine professionalism at any time in their conduct of business. It’s about emotions of protecting what they want in life. It’s never about their country but about their self ego.

These months of staying in these hard hell like conditions have strengthened my resolve to love human beings. And to love my country Zimbabwe. I have seen prisoners treated worse than slaves, this has given me a strong commitment to fight to the end to change these conditions.

We are fed on relish without salt and cooking oil, the food is sub standard and not fit for human consumption. The prison has no respect for humanity.

I have seen that one’s journey to a Zimbabwean prison is filled with fellow Zimbabweans who don’t care at all about dignity of fellow citizens. In the middle of that cruel behavior it is heartening to realise that there are still some citizens with good human hearts.

One danger I have had to fight is remaining behind. The world is moving. The other day I asked my wife about Twitter and she told me that there is no more Twitter, it’s now called X. There is no way of accessing information and news from prison. There is only one obsolete tv which only receives ZTV signal but with no sound! One only gets news when you get a visitor.

To get a letter like the one I am penning takes weeks. The systems are very brutal. I have tried to receive copies of newspapers but they are censored to a point there is nothing to read left.

The prison has hugely increased my reading habit. To get the books though is an unbelievable battle. Another time I got Abraham Lincoln. As is custom the book goes through census. Then some officer realized that the picture on the front cover of the book ‘is similar to the picture of the man on the 5 US dollar ‘ They looked for 5 dollar from countless officers until one got it. They compared and confirmed that yes it was. And the book was labeled a ‘contraband’.

In the face of all the challenges, I have learnt a number of useful life lessons. The attitude of the justice system has shown that the courts are not anything to pin your hopes on. This therefore has taught me to learn to believe more in my inner strength. To believe more in God that at the end we can keep fighting until victory is achieved.

When I walk out of this prison one day only to find the same corruption still rampant in the country I will have to fight exactly in the same way, for there is no going back. If I find the same injustice I will have to fight it more. When I see the same horrible economic conditions in the country I have no option but to speak out and call on our people to stand out. I will repeat the same message over and over, none but ourselves can free our country.

US$200 fine for bestiality

By A Correspondent- A 43 year old Plumtree man has been fined US$200 by magistrate Joshua Nembaware after being found guilty of engaging in bestiality.

“Chamisa is the face of the struggle”: Tshabangu

By A Correspondent- Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the interim Secretary-General of the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has stated that he has no issues with party president Nelson Chamisa and considers him the “face of the struggle.”

Tshabangu has faced criticism for recalling 15 Members of Parliament (MPs) and some councillors, claiming they no longer belong to the party.

He denies allegations of working with the ruling party ZANU PF to destroy the main opposition in the land and says he is fighting against mismanagement and wants individuals from Bulawayo to represent the province. He refused to blame Chamisa for party chaos, but rather blamed “criminals around the president.”

The duo of Admire Sachoto aged 33 and Clever Sachoto 43 from Zengeza one in Chitungwiza went on a robbing spree, waylaying and robbing unsuspecting victims after pretending to be genuine pirate taxi operators.

The Sachoto siblings started their criminal voyage in October this year in which they committed more than 12 counts of robbery.

Lawyer in soup for masterminding Bindura robbery

Harare lawyer, Elatane Bonongwe has been arrested on allegations of masterminding a robbery which saw alleged accomplices snatch over US$30,000 worth of property and cash from a Bindura home.

Bonongwe, 54, of Bonongwe and Partners Legal Practice, appeared before Bindura magistrate and was remanded in custody after being advised to seek bail at the High Court.

He is jointly charged with his uncle, Musa Gandi, 42, Agness Kunaka, Raby Gwenya and Tafadzwa Obrey Chipashu.

Four other accomplices are reportedly still at large.

The five face seven robbery counts.

According to prosecutors, sometime in October, Bonongwe called his uncle, Gandi and asked him to assemble a team which could break into a home belonging to one Emson Chitsungo from Mt Darwin.

It is alleged he then led the suspects to Chitsungo’s home where he left them at midnight to perform the heist by scaling the security wall.

“Whilst inside, they assaulted the complaints with iron bars, clapped them and burnt Chitsungo with a hot iron whilst demanding cash and other valuables.

“The accused ransacked the whole house and stole various clothing, various electrical gadgets worth over US$20,000 and cash amounting to US$1,600.

“The accused then went away driving towards Harare,” prosecutors allege.

Court further heard luck ran out of the suspects when they drove into a police roadblock on their way to Harare.

An attempt by police to search their vehicle saw the suspects escape on foot into the night darkness.

Police manning the roadblock fired warning shots forcing Gandi, Kunaka, Gwenya and Chipashu to give in while four other accomplices managed to escape.

Bonongwe was arrested on the following day after he was sold out by his alleged accomplices. Zimlive

72yr old grandpa fondles 8yr old granddaughter’s privates

By A Correspondent- A 72 year old man removed his 8-year-old granddaughter clothes and fondled her private parts on many occasions, a Bulawayo court has heard.

For the alleged offence, Joseph Manyota was charged with indecent assault.

Manyota was granted US$100 bail by a Bulawayo magistrate on Friday.

It is the State case that Manyota, on countless occasions, sexually violated the minor who lives under his care during the period extending from June to October 28, 2023.

The court heard that within that period, on countless occasions and dates the minor could not recall, Manyota would approach her in the living room when she came from school and remove her clothes, touch her private parts and buttocks.

During the incidents, the court heard, Manyota would tell the girl in Shona, “ndokuti ukurumidze kukura”, implying that fondling her privates will help boost her growth.

The matter came into light on October 28 when the granddaughter defied his grandfather’s threats not to tell anyone about her experience by confiding in her grandmother.

The minor narrated how her predatory grandfather would take advantage of her while the grandmother was in the garden on a regular basis when she came back from school.

Magistrate Nomalanga Maphosa remanded Manyota out of custody to November 9, 2023.

As part of his bail conditions, Manyota was ordered not to continue residing within the same house with the girl and to report at Mzilikazi Police Station once every fortnight. Zimlive

Hopewell Blames Chamisa After Mnangagwa’s Destruction Of Structures Since 1975-2023 | CHIN’ONO A JOURNALIST OR A “DADDY’IST” ON ED’S BEHALF?

Mnangagwa Beds Tongogara’s Sister To Infiltrate ZANLA Structures, Nearly Kills Bob By 1980 While Crashing ZANU Structures, Destroys ZAPU Structures, Floors Zambia Govt Structures, Assassinates President Levy Mwanawasa, Deploys ZDF To Collapse Tsvangirai, Nelson Chamisa Structures, And Then Blames Nelson For Failing To Reveal Own Structures.

Vicious commentator and self appointed Zim community “Daddy”, Hopewell Chin’ono says Nelson Chamisa should have formed party structures in order to save his CCC party, which he says has now gone over to a rogue state assisted fellow, Mr Sengezo Tshabangu.

Chin’ono has continued his 4 year war on Chamisa, in which he accuses him of being bribed by Western embassies, and his MPs of getting bribed USD40,000 by ZANU PF, at a time when he himself (Chin’ono) has totally failed to disclose the name of the British bank he says granted him a sportscar-lifestyle at 25 through a GBP50,000 car loan in 1996, during the days his closest friends were convicted of money laundering and cheque fraud.

Legal analysts speaking to ZimEye yesterday said Chamisa’s career has actually started.

He is joined by former Norton MP Temba Mliswa.

Writing on Saturday, Chin’ono and Mliswa oppose the common view that states that no matter what Chamisa does, his political party structures will still be targeted for attack by his opponent, Emmerson Mnanagwa (a boasting “trained to kill and destroy” saboteur who infiltrated ZANLA structures by bedding its general Josiah Tongogara’s sister in 1975, killing him within 5 years, and almost assassinating party president Robert Mugabe by March 1980, according to unchallenged allegations by former First Lady Grace Mugabe), (Mnangagwa) who has this time spent the last 6 years deploying soldiers to shoot, and judges to rule Chamisa’s party structures down, right up until the day Chamisa has had to start a new party altogether.

Between 1983 and 1987, Mnangagwa created the country’s first-Tshabangu, the state mercenary, Richard Gwesela as an excuse so to kill 30,000 people while destroying ZAPU structures.

He even kidnapped 6 white visiting tourists just so to blame opponent Joshua Nkomo and start a war on the latter’s party.

In 2008, after ZANU PF was defeated by Morgan Tsvangirai’s MDC’T party, Mnangagwa deployed the military to assassinate Zambia’s president Levy Mwanawasa, plus hundreds of opposition supporters. As a result, Zambia government structures had to be reformed.

In 2018, Mnangagwa personally deployed his bodyguards to execute a coup on Nelson Chamisa, kill 6 and rape many election agents so to change the election results and afterwards totally dissipate Nelson Chamisa’s party structures. Chamisa ended up forming a new party called the Citizens Coalition for Change. After Chamisa ran an obfuscation defence mechanism over his new structures, Mnangagwa has created the latest saboteur Mr. Sengezo Tshabangu, with whom he is now accusing Chamisa of losing a court case because of ‘failure at setting up structures.’

Temba Mliswa on his full thread wrote saying: “The High Court has released its judgement and a precedent has been set. CCC effectively belongs to Tshabangu. As I have been saying for long all the MPs and Cllrs for Chamisa should immediately resign so that they can contest and return under a new opposition party.

“CCC is effectively gone! Let them have an immediate Congress, structure themselves properly and contest the by-elections as a new party. This wapusa wapusa thing, in an environment such as ours, is only fodder for the opponents. Be structured, have order.

“Otherwise as things stand Tshabangu is the main man running CCC. It’s very likely that some current MPs& Cllrs won’t agree to the resignation approach. They would rather talk to Tshabangu. We saw that last time with Douglas Mwonzora. The timid& selfish refused to switch sides.

“However as a nation this incident is pathetic. We are wasting a lot of time on politics and politicking instead of national development. So much money will be wasted on running the by-elections while various sectors of the country such as Health and Education are in dire state.

“Secondly, the opposition should introspect and learn lessons going forward. In terms of performance they have left a lot to be desired. I was in Parliament and I can confidently state that ZANU-PF was more concerned about my effect and impact than many opposition MPs.

“They are supposed to hold Gvt to account and be effective at doing so. I always cite @EFFSouthAfrica & how formidable it has become even though it is smaller than CCC. It packs a punch in terms of running a narrative, impact and ideological forthrightness.

“You can never be confused about the EFF’s position on any matter. Even as this judgement has come out we should be seeing a wave of resignations& actions of solidarity among those who still remain. When your principles are trashed being radical should be intuitive.

“Yet the opposition here is so fickle& tepid that many shall strike deals with Tshabangu to continue being MPs& Clrs. A principled opposition should be ready to discard all to protect the higher goal. Everyone should reassemble for a united attack again.

“Thirdly these shenanigans are a by-product of shambolic internal primaries, the shady consensus model. Chamisa simply failed to navigate that part. You can’t suddenly& simply dump brilliant minds like Biti, Welshman, Phulu etc and think you can get away with it.

“Not that I’m saying they are a Tshabangu cabal but that act of dumping them sowed seeds of internal divisions. Now they are all quiet and effectively left Chamisa to run with the wrong strategy and now look where the party is.

“If it is the party position not to contest by-elections; the recalled members can stand as Independent. I’m sure they will win. If I still had interest in politics at that level I could fancy my chances too. However I’m over it and I am onto other things.”

Meanwhile, Chin’ono writes his own thread saying:
“1. The High Court of Zimbabwe has ruled against the Recalled CCC Members of Parliament.
It was always going to be tough, but DON’T leave the door open for your enemies!

“It was known and it was always said so many times that running a political party without a constitution or a structured leadership was going to expose the genuine CCC to what has tragically happened today, it was repeatedly said.

“ZANUPF was always going to facilitate for any disgruntled CCC member to do what happened today, ZANUPF controls parliament.

“When this was raised many times before and after the elections, those who raised this point were insulted and told to either form their own parties where they could have party constitutions, or they were told that there is a plan.

“It is therefore pointless to belabour the political and legal points that were already mentioned in the past warning Nelson Chamisa and CCC of the dangerous that lay ahead because of their chosen path which they called Strategic Ambiguity.

“The first thing to say is that Nelson Chamisa was terribly advised, how could his legitimate Recalled MPs go to court and yet CCC the party that they they belong to is not in court to support their assertions?

“That is a question for Nelson Chamisa and CCC to answer.

“At this point we must accept that there is a problem in Zimbabwe where both the opposition and ruling parties don’t want to be told what they should hear, they want political analysts and journalists to say what they want to hear.

“There is no shortage of so called political analysts and journalists who are happy to push dishonest partisan “analysis” misleading the reading public and party supporters.

“There is also no shortage of those who want that propaganda.

“Zimbabwe is a dictatorship, any political party other than ZANUPF that wants to survive must not open itself up to state institution abuse by ZANUPF and then say, “…but the law says this.”

“Let ZANUPF abuse state institutions in ridiculous ways, but don’t give it plausible reasons for doing so.
A dispute in CCC has been ruthlessly exploited by ZANUPF.

“Genuine analysts and journalists know that Tshabangu has handlers in CCC, and that ZANUPF has taken advantage of the fallout.

“What now from here?

“Chamisa has a duty to defend the space in by-elections, he messed up, he must correct and clean up his mess.

“My immediate thought is that all the Recalled MPs must contest as INDEPENDENTS, and Chamisa must campaign for them, we will support them because it is democracy that is on trial not Nelson Chamisa.

“As one of the world’s leading political scientists Steven Levisky has always said, CONTEST ALL ELECTIONS no matter how unfair the terrain is unless if you have a plan.
ZANUPF should never be allowed to get any of those parliamentary seats, it would be a political tragedy.

“We all know the fatal mistakes that Chamisa and his advisors made, but let us look beyond them and defend these seats first, then resolve the rest later.

“It is lazy thinking blaming ZANUPF for everything, even for things that you could have avoided.

“Chamisa said that he had a plan, any sane person operating on rational reasoning should accept without BUTs and IFs that the said plan FAILED.

“CCC is now gone, Chamisa has to build a new home with a constitution and leadership structures.

“Please note that top leadership structures are different from grassroots structures.

“A party’s leaders must be known otherwise another Tshabangu will come and claim to be the Secretary General.
Tshabangu exploited the loopholes and got away with it.

“A lot of people around Chamisa accept that reality and the mistakes made, they just don’t have the courage that some of us have of saying it publicly.
There is a reason why some people succeed and some don’t, it is the ability to acknowledge the truth and learn from your mistakes.

“Ordinarily ALL CCC MPs should resign, that way they can build a new party with genuine cadres and constitution.

“But will they have the courage to resign?”

Charamba accuses Ngadziore of forging Zanu PF signature

PRESIDENTIAL spokesperson George Charamba has accused Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislator, Takudzwa Ngadziore, of faking his own abduction and forging a Zanu PF signature.

Ngadziore, who doubles as CCC national taskforce co-ordinator, was allegedly abducted in Harare early this week, tortured and later dumped in Christon Bank, Mazowe. The alleged abductors, one of whom was captured on camera, have been linked with the Central Intelligence Organisation and are said to be operating from Harare Central Police Station.

Writing on his X account @dhonzamusoro007 yesterday, Charamba, however, described Ngadziore’s alleged abduction as a sideshow after it emerged that he was on list for forging Speaker of National Assembly Jacob Mudenda’s signature and that of Zanu PF.

On October 12, Mudenda received a letter from Tafadzwa Manyika, who claimed to be Zanu PF’s interim secretary-general, recalling the party’s 70 legislators.

Charamba said the letter was forged by Ngadziore as well as CCC interim organising secretary Amos Chibaya.

“Many have already rubbished the false chase of Ngadziore by some person wielding an assault rifle. I am still trying to understand why the Triple C script needed the prop of an AK assault rifle, as if the puffing and blowing fat Ngadziore needed dire interventions. Ngadziore, alongside Chibaya and Farai Chinobva, are on the wanted list in respect of allegations of forging two signatures,” he said.

“Drama or no drama, the long arm of the law will collect them eventually! Their next false drama is targeting the attention of the European Union (EU) and America when heads of election observer teams for the EU and Carter Center return to present and submit their final reports.”

According to Charamba, the circumstances are that Ngadziore and Chinobva, who is reportedly a director in Chamisa’s office, under the alleged direction of Chibaya forged a letter recalling Zanu PF MPs.

“They allegedly wrote a letter for that contrivance, which was on Zanu PF letterhead and signed by Manyika, a phantom character created for the purpose. Ngadziore was tasked with delivering the recall letters to Mudenda, which he abortively did on two occasions,” he said.

“On both occasions, Ngadziore was intercepted by Parliament security easily because Triple C has announced a disengagement from Parliament, thus subsequently inviting a ban for six sittings by the Speaker. They were thus not expected at Parliament, which is why Ngadziore’s materialising at the said building raised the eyebrows of security personnel.

“With his plans to deliver the ‘recall’ letters frustrated, Ngadziore, Chibaya, and Chinobva jointly decided to release their letters plus a ‘signed’ acknowledgment of receipt, ostensibly by staffers at Parliament. Of course, the signature was a forged one. There was pressure to put the documents in the public domain ahead of the hearing of the case against (self-proclaimed CCC interim secretary-general Sengezo) Tshabangu.”

CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi said: “In the first place, Charamba is not the police. If there are recalls in Zanu PF, that’s none of our business.”

Efforts to get a comment from national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi were fruitless.

The Evolution of Trading: From Barter System to Blockchain

The art and science of trading have been a testament to humanity’s quest for connectivity, commerce, and collaboration. Since the days when Mesopotamian merchants relied on simple barter systems, trading has undergone countless transformations, each echoing the zeitgeist of its era. With each adaptation, whether it was the Silk Road facilitating the trade of precious commodities across continents or the establishment of maritime trade routes, the world became more intertwined. The 21st century heralded an era of unprecedented digital interconnectivity, where trades occur in nanoseconds, and borders become increasingly irrelevant. As blockchain promises a future of transparent and decentralized transactions, stories like the UK Nurse Duped Zimbos $25 Million For Fake Matebele Stands serve as a reminder of the imperatives of trust and caution in this ever-evolving landscape.

1. The Genesis: Barter System

Before money became the universal medium of exchange, goods were traded for goods. This direct exchange of goods and services, known as the barter system, had its origins in prehistoric times. While functional, the system had its limitations: the need for a double coincidence of wants. This means that for a trade to occur, both parties needed to want what the other had to offer.

2. Birth of Money

The inefficiencies of barter led to the adoption of money – a universal medium that represented value. Initially, money took many forms: from cattle, grains, to even unique stones. Eventually, precious metals like gold and silver became the standard, minted into coins, their value determined by weight.

3. Paper Currency and Banking

The inconvenience of carrying heavy coins led to the development of paper currency. Promissory notes, initially issued by banks as a promise to pay the bearer a certain amount, became widely accepted as a form of payment. This marked the foundation of modern banking.

4. Stock Exchanges and Commodities

As businesses grew, there was a need for capital. Companies began selling shares, and the concept of stock markets was born. The Amsterdam Stock Exchange, established in 1602, is often considered the world’s first official stock market. Simultaneously, commodities like spices, grains, and metals also had designated exchanges.

5. The Age of Electronic Trading and MT4

The latter half of the 20th century saw a seismic shift in trading with the advent of electronic platforms. One such influential platform was MT4, or MetaTrader 4, which revolutionized Forex trading by offering advanced charting tools, automated trading systems, and a user-friendly interface.

6. Frauds, Scams, and Cautionary Tales

With the evolution of trading mechanisms, scams and frauds also became sophisticated. One such cautionary tale is that of the “UK Nurse Duped Zimbos $25 Million For Fake Matebele Stands.” This incident underscores the importance of due diligence and the dangers of blind trust in the world of trading.

7. Enter the Digital Age: Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain

The 21st century ushered in a new era of trading with the creation of Bitcoin in 2009. Cryptocurrencies, digital or virtual currencies using cryptography for security, became the new frontier. Underpinning this system is the blockchain technology – a decentralized ledger of all transactions across a network. This system’s transparency and security have made it a revolutionary force in modern trading and beyond.

8. The Future: AI and Quantum Computing

As we gaze into the future of trading, technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing stand poised to redefine the landscape. With AI’s ability to analyze vast amounts of data and make predictive analyses and Quantum Computing’s potential to solve complex mathematical problems in seconds, the next chapter in trading’s evolution promises to be as exciting as its rich history.

Conclusion

From the simple exchanges between ancient civilizations to the complex digital transactions of today, trading has been a testament to human ingenuity and adaptability. These exchanges, once dictated by the availability of local resources and physical proximity, now span across continents in mere seconds, thanks to technological innovations. As the fabrics of societies interweave with the digital realm, trading morphs to bridge both worlds seamlessly. Furthermore, as societies grapple with new ethical and environmental challenges, the trading ecosystem is poised to evolve, reflecting these shifting paradigms. The progression from tactile barter trades to intangible blockchain transactions not only chronicles economic evolution but also underscores humanity’s innate drive for efficiency, trust, and equitable commerce. The tale of trade is undeniably intertwined with our collective strive for growth and understanding in an ever-changing world.

Prof Mthuli Ncube out of by election race

Despite rolling out a massive campaign in his unsuccessful bid to win the Cowdray Park parliamentary seat, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube will not be running in the December 9 by-election.

Ncube, who retained his post as Finance Minister despite losing in the August elections, had done notable development work in the run-up to the polls, including rehabilitating roads, installing public internet, and sinking boreholes.

There was a general feeling that he would throw his hat in the race once again after the seat fell vacant following the recall of CCC legislators.

However, Zanu PF director for Information and Publicity Farai Marapira confirmed to CITE that Ncube will not be running in the by-elections because he has already been appointed as a non-constituency Member of Parliament.

“After the 2023 elections, President Mnangagwa appointed Prof Ncube as a non-constituency Member of Parliament,” Marapira said. “He is currently busy and seized with his work as Minister of Finance. If he were to run again, it would defy his appointment already by the President. It was therefore seen fit to let other party members run for the Cowdray Park seat in that particular constituency.”

The ruling party’s National Political Commissar, Mike Bimha, announced Thursday, that the party primary elections will be held on November 4.

The vacant constituencies are Beitbridge West, Binga North, Bulawayo South, Cowdray Park, Lobengula-Magwegwe, Lupane East, Mabvuku-Tafara, Mpopoma-Mzilikazi, and Nketa.

Bimha said the primary elections would be conducted at Ward Centers, which will serve as polling stations.

For Cowdray Park Constituency, the candidates are Eddington Mpofu, Tholakele Ndlovu, Japhet Phuti, Arthur Mujeyi, and Tripod Muyengwa.

Mpopoma-Mzilikazi constituency has Admire Masikati, Dzingai Kamamba, Nehemiah Tsoliwa, and Violet Mhute.

Lobengula-Magwegwe constituency has Godwin Mugumba, Butholezwe Ndlovu, Enock Madzimure, and Menziwa Dube.

Lupane East constituency has Thubelihle Nkomazana, Phathisiswe Masanu-Dube, Mbongeni Dube, and Dumaza Moyo.

Bimha said there will be no primary elections in Bulawayo South and Nketa constituencies in Bulawayo Province. CITE

Hopewell Chin’ono Blames Chamisa For Mnangagwa’s Bloody War On Structures Since 1975-2023, “Nelson Must Clean Up His Mess”

Warriors Date Wasps Of Rwanda

The Warriors camp is expected to start on 13th of November in Rwanda.

A twenty-eight man provisional squad was named this week with several foreign based players.

These stars based abroad will fly straight to Rwanda from their bases, while the coaches and selected locally-based players will group in Harare before travelling to the Central-East African country, where there will start the camp as a whole team.

The travelling arrangement will allow the Warriors to have more time for the preparations before facing Rwanda in their opening match of Group C of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers on the 15th of November at Huye Stadium in Butare.

The national team will then host Nigeria in their second game at the same venue.

The country was forced to find an alternative home ground elsewhere after CAF upheld their ban on local stadiums in the recent inspection.

The move to host the game in Rwanda is mainly due to logistical challenges of travelling back to the south to host their game in one of the neighbouring countries, possibly Zambia or South Africa.-Soccer24 News

Mnangagwa Comes Out Of SADC Summit Drenched In His Own Sweat, And Says Nothing Happened Inside

By A Correspondent | In an extraordinary summit held in Luanda, Angola on Saturday, the Southern African Development Community (SADC) delivered a historic blow to ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa by officially adopting a report that nullifies his claim to the presidency.

Mnangagwa, visibly sweaty and humiliated, descended the summit’s stairs, finding solace in his long-time propaganda journalist, Reuben Barwe, who has been instrumental in covering up publicity disasters since the early 1980s.

A visibly sweaty Emmerson Mnangagwa as he came down the staircase

Despite Mnangagwa’s attempt to downplay the significance of the summit, it’s evident that Zimbabwe was at the forefront of the discussions. Meeting minutes cite a comprehensive total 43-page dossier implicating him and his ZANU PF party in the 2023 elections.

A brief summary states as follows that the: “Summit received an update on the elections in the SADC Member States and noted the report of the SADC Election Observation Mission to the Harmonised Elections in the Republic of Zimbabwe held in August 2023, and the General Elections in the Kingdom of Eswatini in September 2023.”

At no point did Mnangagwa object SADC’s damning report, meaning THE SEOM findings now go uncontested, in contrast to previous social media protestations.

This development means that Mnangagwa must now request a review of the findings by the SADC Electoral Observation Mission (SEOM) in order to regain recognition as Zimbabwe’s president. His political future remains uncertain as the region’s leaders take a stand against what they perceive as electoral irregularities.

EU calls for thorough investigations on CCC MP abduction

European Union and US embassies in Zimbabwe have both condemned and further urged thorough investigation into the shock abduction and torture of CCC MP Tafadzwa Ngadziore by gun-toting men captured on phone footage charging at the youthful lawmaker.

Ngadziore was seized from his Harare home moments before leaving for parliament Tuesday.

He would later be taken to hospital by colleagues to nurse assault and torture injuries suffered during his ordeal.

The incident, bravely captured by the first-time legislator in a 7-second video of his own attack, has sparked wide condemnation from the public and renewed spotlight on the Zanu PF led government’s battered human rights profile.

Among prominent voices to condemn the act was EU ambassador to Zimbabwe Jobst von Kirchmann who called for an immediate investigation into the matter.

“I am deeply disturbed by the abduction and torture of MP Takudzwa Ngadziore,” he said on X, formerly Twitter.

“Such acts are in stark contradiction to the principles of freedom, security, and dignity that every individual rightfully deserves.

“I hope that the authorities will immediately investigate and ensure that justice prevails.”

The US Embassy to Zimbabwe also called for respect on the constitutional rights of citizens by government.

“The United States is deeply disturbed by continued reports of violence, assault & abductions of opposition members in #Zimbabwe.

“We urge respect for constitutional rights & the fundamental freedoms that underpin them,” said the embassy.

Coincidentally, both EU and the US slapped sanctions on Zimbabwe over alleged rights violations, among other reasons, which Harare dismisses as untrue.

Posting on X Thursday, police said they were yet to take action on the matter as “no such case has been reported”.

“The ZRP has been keenly following an allegation of abduction and torture on social media.

“The police informs the public that no such case has been reported.

“We are trying to make contact with the alleged victim so as to elicit the facts beyond what is on social media,” police said. Zimlive

Sticky fingered ZUPCO conductor hauled to court

A ZUPCO conductor was Thursday brought before a Bulawayo magistrate charged with fraud following cases in which he issued passengers with blank tickets while pocketing the fares.

Tredgold Magistrates’ Court was told Tichaona Chitera, 40, on September 17, 2023, was deployed as a conductor on a bus that was travelling to Gokwe.

Along the way, the bus picked up five passengers and he issued them with blank tickets.

The scam was discovered by ZUPCO inspectors, Desire Kabanda and Margaret Mugadza.

The tickets totaled US$10 in value.

Chitera also pleaded guilty to three other counts in which it is alleged that on October 3, he issued another passenger aboard a Chinhoyi-Kasimure bus with a blank ticket and pocketed US$2.

On October 5, court further heard, Chiteka again gave blank tickets to eight other passengers while pocketing US$14.

He did it again on October 8, issuing blank tickets and taking US$16 as his own.

ZUPCO was represented in court by its security officer Atanasiyo Tapera while magistrate Nomalanga Maphosa presided over the matter.

Chitera was granted US$40 bail. Zimlive

Duo’s burnt remains to be repatriated back to Zim

By A Correspondent- The remains of two Zimbabwean nationals who were burnt beyond recognition in South Africa have been identified through DNA tests.

The remains are being repatriated back home.

The August 31 fire incident in Johannesburg claimed the lives of more than 70 people, among them Zimbabwean nationals.

While other victims, including five Zimbabwean nationals, have already been buried, the identification of those who were burnt beyond recognition is continuing with initial DNA tests establishing that two victims are from Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe’s Consular General in Johannesburg, Mr Eria Phiri confirmed processes to repatriate the remains.

“We have been in communication with the South African government with regards to the identification of the burnt victims being done via DNA and results are now coming out. So far, 7 of our nationalities have been identified and 5 have been buried and the other two latest to be identified are set to be repatriated to Manicaland province this week,” he said.

DNA tests on more than 30 other victims are still being carried out.

An inquiry into the fire has begun and is being overseen by a three-member panel led by South Africa’s retired Constitutional Court Judge, Justice Sisi Khampepe. The inquiry is aimed at establishing the cause of the fire and consider whether anyone should be held responsible for the deaths.

More than 80 people were injured, including many who sustained broken limbs and backs after jumping out of the building’s windows to escape the fire. ZBC

High Court Turns Down CCC MPs Application For Reinstatement

Zimbabwe High Court Dismisses CCC Party Legislators’ and Senators’ Application for Parliamentary Reinstatement

Harare, Zimbabwe – November 4, 2023

Zimbabwe’s High Court has ruled against an application filed by 14 legislators from the CCC (Citizens for Constitutional Change) party and 9 CCC senators who were seeking reinstatement to the parliamentary assembly. The legislators and senators had sued for their return to parliament after they were removed from their positions.

Engineering student slapped with 20yr jail term for robbery spree

By A Correspondent- A Bulawayo Polytechnic engineering student who went on a robbery spree in the city has been slapped with an effective additional 20 years in prison after admitting to five more counts of armed robbery, to add to the effective 15 years he is already serving for robbery and attempted robbery.

Learn Mupande (21) received an additional 30-year sentence on Thursday for the extra five counts of armed robbery he admitted committing but 10 years of that new sentence were suspended on condition he behaves properly after he is finally released from prison.

The series of counts include robbing Mukuru of R13 390, Chicken Inn drive through where he stole two iPhone 7s and US$998.66, Athens supermarket in Cowdray Park where he stole a cellphone, handcuffs and baton. Mupande also robbed a registered money agency Tottengram Investments and made off with US$1 850.

Mupande initially appeared in court on Tuesday with his accomplice Bezel Chirova (21) who is also an engineering student at Bulawayo Poly.

Mupande and Chirova told a court that flashy lifestyles displayed on social media by celebrities influenced them to commit the crimes between March and September this year.

Mupande and Chirova were convicted on their own pleas to two counts of attempted armed robbery and armed robbery by Bulawayo regional magistrate Mr Elijah Singano.

They were each sentenced to 16 years in jail of which five years were suspended for five years.

Mupande was separately slapped with a five-year sentence for stealing a Honda Fit, which they used to commit the crimes. One year was suspended on condition that he does not commit a similar crime when out of prison. He will therefore serve an effective 15 years in prison.

In their mitigation, Mupande and Chirova pleaded for leniency saying they committed the crimes due to societal pressures from their “well-off” peers as well as the lifestyles of social media influencers.

“I committed the crimes because of peer pressure. I was envious of the lives of my peers and the lives of social media influencers. I wanted to be like them, I wanted to mimic their lives, the food they ate, their dressing and the drinks they enjoyed,” said Mupande.

Chirova told the court that he was pressured by Mupande to engage in the crimes. “It was not my intention to commit these crimes. It was Mupande who pressured me into committing these crimes. He was persistent in getting me to be part of his plan,” he said.

In passing the sentence, Mr Singano said the court was persuaded to be lenient considering the age of the two students.

“The law is considerate of their age, maturity, and inexperience and peer pressure. They are youthful offenders and are students at Bulawayo Polytechnic. However, this does not mean they should not be punished,” he said.

Mr Singano said the pair was daring in executing their movie-style robberies and such crimes deserve custodial sentences.

“The court was lenient because they did not waste time and admitted to their crimes,” he said.

Mr Singano noted that the two students prejudiced the complainants financially while also causing harm to customer confidence.

MaWidzo’s death described as good riddance

By A Correspondent- The world over and in the Zimbabwean culture, there is general respect for the dead, often their bad deeds forgotten and publicly overlooked.

The Shona people actually have an adage, wafawanaka, which loosely means the evil that people do should be ignored after their demise.

Graveside or funeral wake eulogies deliberately omit all evil deeds and more often than not, the dead are showered with praises.

The deceased’s good deeds are amplified to trigger empathy and often repeated.

But for a Beitbridge man, William, affectionately known as MaWidzo, who died last week, residents described his death as good riddance.

He died a lone man at Masvingo General Hospital, far away from Beitbridge where he was well known only for his seemingly evil life.

There was no funeral wake in his last residential town or anywhere else.

His relatives did not even want to associate with his remains, which were until burial day yesterday kept at the government morgue.

People did not even ask where mourners were gathered.

Yes, most people celebrated his demise and his numerous stories of hard crime, including raping men and women and violent robbery in his territory of Beitbridge and Musina.

MaWidzo was posted on several social media groups in Beitbridge and every other comment frowned at his life and treatment of fellow residents he robbed at will.

One of his most infamous stories was how he found his girlfriend, a commercial sex worker, with someone and he raped both the woman and the man.

“That was MaWidzo for you, a larger than life character. He was rough to the core and a hard criminal who never repented,” a Beitbridge man close to him said.

“He operated between Musina and Beitbridge and his diminutive stature was deceptive. Inside that small stature was a hardened man, crude and as rude as they come. He was central to most robberies in Musina and the areas around Beitbridge,” the man said.

Well known as a pickpocket and rapist who did time for the offence, William survived by vile means and created enemies at every turn.

He frequented the Beitbridge Border Post, where he preyed on unsuspecting travellers with a gang of other nimble-fingered men since the 1990s.

“He raped his newly-found girlfriend who mistook him for a genuine person, but he was rough with her on the very first date and she reported the matter to the police. He was jailed for the offence,” another Beitbridge resident said.

“He was a bad guy, he lived in a bad way and not even the prison term changed him. In fact, he got worse,” the resident added.

Born and bred in Masvingo, MaWidzo later moved to Beitbridge, where he joined other pickpockets who frequented the border post.

Inept security and conniving with unscrupulous officials earned him and his teams big money and they spread operations to Musina targeting those going for shopping.

He later settled in Musina, but would occasionally return to Beitbridge and was regular at an old nightclub at the Mashakada shops of Beitbridge.

Later, he fled Musina, where he was responsible for harassing and robbing fellow Zimbabweans.

His flight from Musina came after he fell out with his live-in lover, after he raped her daughter.

A wanted man in Musina, MaWidzo relocated to Beitbridge, where he eventually became sick and his health deteriorated each day.

His colleagues took him to Masvingo, where his relatives, who all along knew and detested his lifestyle, abandoned him in hospital to die lonely.

“His own relatives refused to accept his remains at their homes. It took his younger brother who came from South Africa to convince relatives to bury MaWidzo. He was rejected by his very own even in death,” a man close to him said.

“His life was sad. He was a criminal no one liked and was laid to rest at a mission cemetery,  not his home. Relatives believe spirits of people he wronged should not follow him to their home. In Beitbridge, mixed feelings of his posthumous treatment created a buzz, but generally, he was condemned to the last.

In 2019, chaos broke out at the Beitbridge Border Post when a mob of cross-border drivers attempted to burn a Toyota Quantum carrying the body of a gang leader accused of unleashing a reign of terror against them in Musina.

Border authorities had to call anti-riot police to quell the potentially volatile situation when people tried to violate the remains of Knowledge Mukachana (32) being transported to Chief Chimombe area in Gutu for burial.

Police in soup over torture

By A Correspondent- Police in Mashonaland Central province are being accused of torturing robbers who allegedly robbed Pfura rural district council engineer Emson Chitsungo.

The robbers are Musa Gandi (42) of Buhera, Agness Kunaka (41) of Chiweshe, Raby Gwenya (39) of Nyazvidzi, Android Tafadzwa Obrey Chipashe (35) of Chiweshe.

They implicated prominent Mount Darwin lawyer Elatone Bonongwe and four others who are still at large.

Appearing at Bindura magistrates courts before a Harare magistrate Mrs Chimangu the suspected robbers lawyer Rynos Gumbo said his clients were torchered by the police.

“Your worship l have a complainant against the police my clients were torchered and passed out while in the hands of the police their health is deteriorating,” Gumbo told the court.

The magistrate remanded them in custody to November 13 and advised them to apply for bail at High Court.

Prosecutors alleged on October 5, Bonongwe schemed to rob Eng Chitsungo using a gang called in by his uncle.

The gang armed with an AK47 bayonet and two sharp iron bars drove to Mt Darwin in a Sienta Redan and met Bonongwe who showed them Eng Chitsungo’s house and left them.

The gang scaled a precast wall at Eng Chitsungo’s house and while inside they slapped him and burnt his behind with a hot iron while demanding cash and valuables. They ransacked the house and stole clothes, electrical appliances and US$1 600.

But as the eight drove towards Harare, they were stopped at a roadblock near Mazowe and the police demanded to search the car. The gang fled but a Support Unit back-up fired four shots and so police were able to arrest the four who appeared in court while the other four escaped.

After a search, the police recovered some of the stolen property and weapons used in committing this crime.

During interviews, accused Chipashe implicated Bonongwe and showed WhatsApp chats and text messages between Bonongwe and his uncle Gandi tasking him to assemble a team to rob Engineer Chitsungo.

Man stabbed over tribal differences

A man from Matebeleland has been sent to jail for stabbing a Shona-speaking man in Plumtree.

Daniso Dube (22) was sentenced to two years in jail by Plumtree magistrate Joshua Nembaware.

Nembaware conditionally suspended one year.

Prosecutor Selestine Madziwa told the court that on October 13 Dube followed the complainant Great joy Sibanda at Kweneng village where he was fetching water.

Upon arrival, Dube grabbed Sibanda by the collar accusing him of daring since he is a Shona speaking person.

He started to assault him all over the body before pulling an okapi knife and stabbed Sibanda on the left leg.

He bled profusely and a police report was filed leading to the arrest of Dube.

“Tapiwa-Makore Skull-Curse” Judge Rules In Tshabangu’s Favour Against CCC MPs

*Harare, Zimbabwe – November 4, 2023*

By A Correspondent | In an expected development, Zimbabwe’s controversial High Court judge of the “Tapiwa Makore-missing-skull-cover-up,” Munamato Mutevedzi, has ruled against an application filed by 14 legislators from the (Citizens Coalition for Change) party and 9 CCC senators who are seeking reinstatement to the parliamentary assembly. The legislators and senators had sued for their return to parliament after they were removed from their positions.

Mr. Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the interim secretary general of the CCC party, obtained the legislators’ removal via a letter to the Speaker Of Parliament.

The CCC legislators and senators have not yet issued a statement regarding the court’s decision, and it remains to be seen how this development will impact the ongoing political dynamics in Zimbabwe.

EU, US disturbed by opposition MP abduction, torture

Zimlive

Tshabangu Lawyers Brag Even Before The High Court Ruling On Recalls Is Delivered

Sengezo Tshabangu’s lawyer says recalled CCC MPs’ lawyers have made fatal legal errors by first citing, in their challenge, the Speaker and Senate president and further taking their matter to the High Court instead of the Constitutional Court.

Advocate Lewis Uriri said while making arguments on behalf of the self-imposed CCC interim secretary general at the High Court Thursday that the lawyers also let their clients down by failing to cite CCC as a party in their challenge against the recalls.

Tshabangu, a virtually anonymous figure until his shock recall order, ordered the ouster of 14 legislators and 9 senators early October claiming they had ceased to be members of the main opposition.

The order was swiftly acted upon by the speaker Jacob Mudenda, triggering a challenge through the courts.

High Court judge Munamato Mutevedzi heard arguments from the parties Thursday.

Mutevedzi reserved his ruling although committing his court to a determination inside the next five days.

MPs are challenging Tshabangu’s legal standing to recall them arguing he was not even a member of the main opposition.

As an afterthought, the legislators removed the speaker of parliament, senate president and the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission from the list of cited respondents, choosing to turn their entire arsenal in challenging Tshabangu’s legitimacy as a member of the party.

Through Advocate Amanda Ndlovu, one of their lawyers, MPs issued an apology against the presiding officers of the august house.

“So, where there is common cause that applicants were members of CCC and that respondent had no authority to act on behalf of CCC, that leaves nothing to be debated before this honourable court,” she said.

But Uriri said their case was good as dead.

“Their case after they had spoken was worse than before they spoke,” Uriri said in court.

“… No amount of papering can piece the case together.

“They came to court accusing the speaker and president of the senate and made no case substantively against Tshabangu.

“The withdrawal against the Speaker and the President of the senate and ZEC left them with nothing to stand on.”

Uriri argued the High Court had no jurisdiction over the matter since the applicants were raising constitutional issues.

“Only the Constitutional Court has authority to hear this case,” he said.

He also said the speaker acted according to his mandate by effecting the recalls without any attempts to enquire into the motivation behind the controversial order.

“When he receives it, he is allowed to act in the manner he did and this is what he did.

“The speaker and the senate president are functionaries of parliament,” he said.

Uriri also said the MPs made a fatal error by failing to cite their political party in the court proceedings.

“Absent the party concerned, they cannot resolve the dispute that has arisen. CCC is quiet because it is happy by the recalls.

“The applicants are not members because they were expelled,” submitted Uriri, inviting a roar of disapproval from a CCC dominated gallery.

Uriri then urged Mutevedzi to dismiss the application with costs.

Abduction of Zimbabwean Opposition Legislator Raises Concerns Over Human Rights Situation

By Jane Mlambo| On November 1, 2023, Takudzwa Ngadziore, an opposition member of parliament in Zimbabwe, was allegedly abducted and tortured by unidentified individuals in Harare.

The 24-year-old member of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) was on his way to parliament when he was abducted at gunpoint and severely assaulted. Ngadziore’s case is not an isolated one. On September 2, Womberaishe Nhende, the elected CCC councilor for Glen Norah Ward 27 in Harare, and activist Sonele Mukhuhlani, were allegedly abducted and tortured before being dumped on the outskirts of the capital 1. Both described abuses similar to those of Ngadziore.

On October 24, 2023, former opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Mabvuku-Tafara, James Chidhakwa, was reportedly abducted and tortured by unknown assailants. He was found dumped in Arcturus, severely injured.

He told his colleagues that he was injected with an unknown substance. Kidnappers allegedly shaved off the victim’s dreadlocks using a sharp object.

These abductions raise further concerns regarding the deteriorating human rights situation in Zimbabwe following the disputed August 23 elections. The Citizens Coalition for Change has raised alarms over the post-election violence, stating that over 100 of its members have had to flee their homes because of threats and attacks from alleged ruling Zimbabwe African National Unity-Patriotic Front party supporters.

The Zimbabwean government has been accused of using violence and intimidation to silence opposition voices and suppress dissent.

The government has also been criticized for its handling of the economy, which has been in a state of decline for several years. The country is facing a severe shortage of foreign currency, which has led to a shortage of basic goods and services, including fuel, electricity, and medicine.

The international community has condemned the abductions and called for an end to the violence and intimidation in Zimbabwe. The United Nations has expressed concern over the human rights situation in the country and has called on the government to respect the rights of its citizens. The United States and the European Union have also condemned the abductions and have called for an independent investigation into the matter.

In conclusion, the abduction of Takudzwa Ngadziore and James Chidhakwa and the deteriorating human rights situation in Zimbabwe since the August 23 elections are a cause for concern. The Zimbabwean government must take immediate steps to ensure the safety and security of all its citizens and to respect their fundamental human rights. The international community must also continue to monitor the situation closely and provide support to those who are working to promote democracy and human rights in Zimbabwe.

Rabbies Claim 3 Lives In Chipinge

AT least three rabies deaths have been recorded in Chipinge District.

Speaking during the Chipinge District Department of Civil Protection stakeholders meetings last week on Saturday, district veterinary officer, Mr Tandabantu Hlatywayo said their department is concerned with the increasing positive cases of rabies being recorded in the district which have so far claimed three lives.

“We have recorded three confirmed rabies deaths in the district, which means we have an outbreak. We have so far vaccinated about 9 000 out of the 12 000 dogs we have in the district

“We continue to implore the community to vaccinate their dogs because rabies treatment is expensive; so prevention is better than cure. We are urging all those people with dogs to come forward and have them vaccinated,” he said.

The deadly disease is being spread by wild animals such as jackals which are attacking people and animals in the district.

Rabies is a dangerous virus that causes brain inflammation.

Animals can spread rabies to humans through bites and scratches.

Rabies vaccines and other medications can treat infections.

Without treatment, the disease can be fatal.

Mthuli Quits Contesting

ZANU PF Continues Primaries for Bi-Elections as Twilight Mthuli Ncube Remains Absent.

*Harare, Zimbabwe – November 4, 2023* – The ruling party, ZANU PF, has pressed forward with its primary elections for the upcoming bi-elections, even as notable figure Twilight Mthuli Ncube was excluded from the candidate lineup. The party’s National Political Commissar, Mike Bimha, announced on Thursday that these crucial primary elections will take place today, November 4, across various constituencies in Zimbabwe.

Mthuli has quit comtesting as he has already been handed a non constituency post.

The bi-elections have been necessitated by vacancies in several constituencies, including Beitbridge West, Binga North, Bulawayo South, Cowdray Park, Lobengula-Magwegwe, Lupane East, Mabvuku-Tafara, Mpopoma-Mzilikazi, and Nketa.

Bimha confirmed that the primary elections would be held at Ward Centers, serving as designated polling stations for the process. The following constituencies have attracted the attention of aspiring ZANU PF candidates:

– **Cowdray Park Constituency**: The candidates vying for this constituency’s mandate include Eddington Mpofu, Tholakele Ndlovu, Japhet Phuti, Arthur Mujeyi, and Tripod Muyengwa. The primary elections in this area are anticipated to be closely watched, given the diversity of candidates.

– **Mpopoma-Mzilikazi Constituency**: Aspiring contenders for this constituency are Admire Masikati, Dzingai Kamamba, Nehemiah Tsoliwa, and Violet Mhute. This hotly contested race is expected to draw substantial attention from voters and political observers alike.

– **Lobengula-Magwegwe Constituency**: In this constituency, the candidates in the running include Godwin Mugumba, Butholezwe Ndlovu, Enock Madzimure, and Menziwa Dube. The primary elections will determine who represents ZANU PF in this crucial area.

– **Lupane East Constituency**: This constituency sees candidates Thubelihle Nkomazana, Phathisiswe Masanu-Dube, Mbongeni Dube, and Dumaza Moyo competing for the party’s nomination. The outcome of these primary elections will shape the political landscape in Lupane East.

However, Bimha clarified that there would be no primary elections in Bulawayo South and Nketa constituencies in Bulawayo Province, suggesting that the party had reached consensus or that uncontested candidates had emerged in those areas.

Notably absent from this roster is Twilight Mthuli Ncube, the former Finance Minister and prominent ZANU PF member, who has played a significant role in the country’s economic policies in recent years. His exclusion from the primary elections raises questions and speculations about his political trajectory and future involvement with the ruling party.

As the ZANU PF primary elections unfold across these key constituencies, the outcomes will shape the landscape for the upcoming bi-elections. The absence of prominent figures like Twilight Mthuli Ncube adds intrigue to the political landscape and underscores the importance of these elections in determining Zimbabwe’s future political direction.- state media

ZANU PF Spends Friday Night Trying to Convince Povo that SADC’s Not Discussing Zimbabwe

In a Friday night article, Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU PF, vehemently denied that Zimbabwe was on the agenda of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Summit, currently taking place in Luanda, Angola. The summit’s primary focus is addressing the security situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where rebels have been causing displacement of over 260,000 people.

President Mnangagwa’s expected attendance at the summit is aimed at addressing the DRC crisis, not Zimbabwe. Contrary to claims made on social media by some members of the opposition, particularly the CCC, ZANU PF insists that Zimbabwe’s inclusion on the summit agenda is baseless and unfounded.

SADC Extraordinary Summits are designed to address a single issue, and in this case, that issue is the security situation in the DRC, where violence has led to the displacement of thousands of people in North Kivu since the beginning of October.

However, the article takes a critical turn by raising suspicions about the inclusion of Zimbabwe in the agenda. Some senior SADC officials have suggested that if Zimbabwe were to be added to the agenda, it could be a result of mischief orchestrated by a Zimbabwean working within the SADC Secretariat. This individual is alleged to have close ties to CCC leader Nelson Chamisa and is said to be financially supported by the European Union (EU). It’s worth noting that the EU’s involvement in the matter is still unverified.

The said individual’s affiliation with the EU is a matter of concern for ZANU PF and other senior government officials, who claim that this individual was not seconded to SADC by Zimbabwe but applied through the standard channels. Moreover, it is suggested that this person acts on behalf of various parties and organizations with interests in SADC, the EU, and the United States, all of which are seeking to maintain constant pressure on Zimbabwe.

Amid these developments, SADC member states have held a series of meetings at the summit. Zimbabwe has been represented by officials, including Permanent Secretary for Defense Mr. Aaron Nhepera and Acting Defense Minister Kazembe Kazembe. According to Minister Kazembe, the Extraordinary Summit is a continuation of the virtual meeting held earlier this week, which had to be deferred due to connectivity issues. The heads of state are expected to meet, with President Mnangagwa’s presence anticipated.

The ZANU PF article has stirred controversy and cast doubts on the motives behind the inclusion or potential discussion of Zimbabwe in the SADC Extraordinary Summit agenda. It remains to be seen how the summit will proceed and whether Zimbabwe’s situation will become a point of discussion.

FAZ Back In The Picture Ahead Of Tshabangu Created By-Elections

By A Correspondent| The ruling Zanu PF party has once again turned to its controversial affiliate, Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), to coordinate campaign efforts in the lead-up to the by-elections scheduled for December 9. These by-elections were triggered by the recall of 15 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators and 17 councillors, orchestrated by the self-proclaimed interim party secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu.

Despite strong objections from the CCC, which claims that Tshabangu is an “impostor” and that his claimed position doesn’t exist within the party, President Emmerson Mnangagwa proceeded to declare the by-elections. Critics argue that Tshabangu is a creation of FAZ, aiming to destabilize the opposition and resurrect the political prospects of the ruling party candidates who faced defeat in the August 23 and 24 polls.

Critics have also raised concerns that these recalls are intended to grant Zanu PF a two-thirds majority, a status denied by voters in the initial elections. The CCC, in response, has announced its decision not to participate in the by-elections caused by the “fraudulent recall” of its elected officials. Instead, the party is demanding fresh polls supervised by the Southern African Development Community (Sadc), with this matter scheduled for discussion at a Sadc Extraordinary Summit in Angola.

FAZ, an organization with strong links to the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO), played a significant role in spearheading Mnangagwa’s re-election during the August 23 and 24 polls. Numerous local, regional, and international election observer missions raised concerns about FAZ’s involvement in various electoral irregularities, including voter intimidation. These observer missions collectively found that the polls failed to meet local, regional, and international standards for credible, free, and fair elections.

Zanu PF, however, defended FAZ’s campaign strategies, asserting that they were conducted transparently. Farai Marapira, Zanu PF’s acting director for information, confirmed FAZ’s involvement in candidate selection and the upcoming by-elections.

Primary elections for Zanu PF are set to take place tomorrow in preparation for the nomination court’s session on November 7. Marapira confirmed FAZ’s participation, and FAZ President Kudakwashe Munsaka, who previously ran for Binga North in the August elections, also affirmed his organization’s role in Zanu PF’s campaign efforts, stating their commitment to the ruling party whenever needed.

Previously, FAZ and Heritage Trust, a shadowy group with ties to the army, were accused of manipulating Zanu PF primaries and the nation’s elections. FAZ’s continued involvement in Zanu PF’s election campaigns has raised concerns among analysts who accuse the ruling party of planning to rig the upcoming by-elections in its favor.

Political analyst Romeo Chasara suggested that this move by Zanu PF is a clear attempt to manipulate the elections, as FAZ is known for its strong affiliation with the ruling party. Chasara expressed concerns that the presence of FAZ at the polls could intimidate voters and suppress dissent.

A preliminary report from the Sadc election observer mission highlighted allegations of voter intimidation attributed to FAZ, affecting the rural vote in particular. FAZ was reportedly involved in deploying operatives across numerous wards and 35,000 villages, coercing voters to support Zanu PF.

Ignatious Sadziwa, the executive director of the Zimbabwe Election Advocacy Trust, emphasized FAZ’s significant role in Zanu PF’s controversial victory in previous elections, which led to widespread skepticism and condemnation from both local and international election observer missions.

Sadziwa expressed astonishment at Zanu PF’s continued association with this contentious organization, describing it as a surprising development.

Mnangagwa Faces Scrutiny at SADC Extraordinary Summit for Being Worse Than DRC

By Farai D Hove | In a turn of events, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa finds himself at the center of intense scrutiny as he lands in Luanda, Angola, to attend the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Extraordinary Summit. The summit’s focus is on addressing the security situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where violent rebels have displaced over 260,000 people. Still, it also includes discussions about the alarming security situation in Zimbabwe.

The shocking revelations center on President Mnangagwa’s alleged deployment of soldiers to manipulate election results since 2018, a practice that he has even publicly announced on Zimbabwean state television, ZTV. These military deployments to influence elections have led to a dire economic collapse in Zimbabwe, with losses amounting to a staggering USD 16 billion, according to figures from the Finance Ministry. This disturbing strategy was openly acknowledged by ZANU PF Spokesman Christopher Mutsvangwa, who outlined the Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ role in changing election outcomes.

The 2023 election witnessed further military deployments and the commission of grave crimes against humanity, raising serious concerns about Zimbabwe’s political landscape. Unlike the situation in the DRC, where rebels are responsible for the violence, Zimbabwe’s turmoil appears to be directly attributed to the actions of its President.

With Zimbabwe’s predicament seemingly worse than the violence in the DRC, it becomes inevitable for SADC to address this pressing issue during the summit. The meeting is set to commence in the afternoon, and the international community eagerly awaits the outcome.

However, Mnangagwa’s state media vehemently denies these allegations, asserting that Zimbabwe is not on the summit’s agenda. The state media alleges that reports of Zimbabwe’s inclusion are mere misinformation spread by certain officials associated with the CCC (Citizens’ Coalition for Change) on social media. According to the state media, an extraordinary summit should focus solely on one issue, which, in this case, pertains to the security situation in the DRC.

Furthermore, there are claims that any attempt to include Zimbabwe on the agenda would be deemed mischief and could be instigated by a Zimbabwean working within the SADC Secretariat, who is believed to have close ties to CCC leader Nelson Chamisa and is allegedly paid by the European Union. These allegations are met with skepticism, as it remains unverified whether this individual is indeed funded by the EU.

Senior government officials emphasize that the said individual was not seconded to SADC by Zimbabwe but followed the standard application process. They assert that this individual acts on behalf of various parties from SADC, the EU, and the United States, all of whom seek to maintain constant pressure on Zimbabwe.

The SADC Extraordinary Summit is a continuation of previous virtual meetings and is expected to culminate in a meeting of Heads of State, where President Mnangagwa will likely face probing questions regarding Zimbabwe’s security situation. The summit’s proceedings come after several meetings involving Chiefs of Defense, senior government officials, and ministers from SADC member states. These developments underscore the gravity of the situation and the urgent need for a diplomatic resolution to the crises unfolding in the region.

Chamisa’s Lieutenants Hospitalised After Abduction And Lethal Injection

By A Correspondent| Two of Zimbabwe’s main opposition political party leader, Nelson Chamisa’s lieutenants, have been left hospitalised after sustaining injuries when they were abducted and tortured by some unidentified men.

Honourable Takudzwa Ngadziore, an opposition legislator and a pro-democracy campaigner, was hospitalised after he was abducted on 1 November 2023 and tortured by some unidentified people who injected him with an unknown substance before dumping him outside Harare.

Hon. Ngadziore, a legislator for the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change political party led by Chamisa, who is also the opposition party’s Youth Taskforce Co-ordinator, was abducted outside his residence in Harare on Wednesday 1 November 2023 by some unidentified gun-brandishing men, who bundled him into a vehicle and blindfolded him with a sack and stripped him naked.

The unidentified men drove Hon. Ngadziore to Christon Bank, which is located outside Harare, where he was tortured using some objects, which he believed to be a taser and iron rods.

As he was being tortured, Hon. Ngadziore was asked about his political activities and the plans for his CCC political party.

The torture lasted for close to one hour before the unidentified men injected him with an unknown substance and dumped him in Christon Bank.

Hon. Ngadziore was found by a passer-by, who gave him a work suit and the opposition legislator was taken to a medical facility, where he is being treated for injuries sustained from the torture.

On Monday 23 October 2023, former Mabvuku-Tafara constituency legislator Hon. James Chidhakwa, was also hospitalised after he sustained injuries when he was abducted by some unidentified men in Harare’s central business district.

Hon Chidhakwa was taken from his vehicle and shoved into an unmarked Toyota Fortuner vehicle by some men who subdued him after they handcuffed his hands.

He was blindfolded and taken to an unknown destination and along the way he was mocked by the unidentified men who criticised him for supporting the opposition CCC political party and its leader.

He was assaulted indiscriminately by the men who used clenched fists, open palms, truncheons and metal rods and also injected him with an unknown substance on his back and was later thrown out of the vehicle onto the ground after the men had cut his clothes with a knife and took off his shoes and threw them away. The men then injected him with an unknown substance on his back.

While he was lying on the ground, the unidentified men ran over Hon. Chidhakwa’s right leg by reversing and driving forward on top of his right leg and removed the blind fold before ripping his dreadlocks using a machete and left him for dead.

Hon. Chidhakwa was found by some artisanal miners in Arcturus, just outside Harare and was given some clothes to cover himself before being taken to hospital, where he was treated for several injuries including fractures.

Ngezi Platinum Go For Glory

THE log leaders, Ngezi Platinum Stars will be gunning for nothing except three points to keep their title charge on track when they travel to the Colliery for a date with Hwange this Sunday.

In a season where they had a slow start, nobody imagined the Mhondoro-based outfit would turn out to be strong title contenders at this stage.

Bossing the standings with a seven-point lead over second-placed Manica Diamonds, Ngezi now needs eight points in the last five games to claim their maiden title.

Walking with a spring in their step after a comprehensive 3-0 win over Black Rhinos to reach the Chibuku Super Cup final in Gweru last Saturday, the Madamburo camp is oozing with confidence.

“As a team, we have been enjoying our moments of the game which is more important for the team, if you have good moments you need to enjoy and clap for the results. It’s not going to be easy where we are now, it will be tough so we need to focus and be relaxed have a lot of determination and be organised. By now, I think the players now understand what is in their hands to push for the last hurdle because when you play a competitive league like ours, you need to push yourself an extra mile week in and week out until the end of the season,” said Ngezi Platinum Stars coach, Takesure Chiragwi.

A win for Takesure Chiragwi’s troops will send a clear message that they are determined to bring the coveted league title to Mhondoro.

Chamisa Clears Congress Rumour

By-The opposition Citizens Coalitions for Change (CCC) has dismissed speculative reports that it is planning to hold an elective congress soon to weed out party bigwigs considered as a threat to Nelson Chamisa’s leadership.

Interim national organising secretary, Amos Chibaya, told NewsDay yesterday that the party was busy with parliamentary business and will not be pushed into holding a congress.
“I am not even aware of the congress. I saw it on social media platforms and I have been asked about the issue several times but there is nothing like that at the moment, we are busy in Parliament now,” he said.
“We are not fighting anyone. People just say what they want to say but it’s wrong. On the issue of recalls of our party members, we have approached the courts and I don’t want to comment at the moment and we will see how it goes.”
Former Zanu PF politburo member Jonathan Moyo recently torched a social media storm after claiming that Chamisa was organising a “crash congress”.
“The party is already looking for funds to finance the congress and the party wants to make sure that the congress will go ahead,” Moyo posted on his X handle.
Chamisa is being accused of plotting to purge senior party members including former Finance minister Tendai Biti and Welshman Ncube for allegedly disapproving of his leadership style.
Chamisa has been accused of singlehandedly running the party after “refusing” to hold an elective congress since the formation of the movement in January last year. Newsday

The ZRP has been keenly following an allegation of abduction and torture on Social Media. The Police informs the public that no such case has been reported.

We are trying to make contact with the alleged victim so as to elicit the facts beyond what is on social media.

Ngadziore, who is a CCC’s Youth Quota MP, was allegedly abducted and tortured by heavily armed suspected State agents on Wednesday, 01 November.

Ngadziore recorded his abduction live on Facebook before he was reportedly taken to Mazowe where he was tortured before being stripped naked and dumped.

Auxillia Flies to UK for USD3mill to Sleep in Same Hotel With Married Man For Sadza Competition Attended by Own Bodyguards

EXCLUSIVE: By Own Correspondent | ZimEye |  As she gets the Zim Miners Federation President Henrietta Rushwaya jailed, First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa has rushed to book for an expensive central London hotel stay where she will sleep in the same premises with the nation’s married male ambassador, Christian Katsande, ZimEye can reveal.

Auxillia is scheduled to fly into London for a still to be explained sadza cooking completion to be held on the 7th,8th,9th, and 10th November inside the embassy.

Auxillia Mnangagwa

She is flying with 10 women who won the cooking competition from the country’s the 10 provinces.

They will all be using a chartered flight that will have another 50 people traveling with the First Lady, who will be the only audience for the function together with 10 bodyguards.

The 10 cooking contestants are going to compete against themselves. The judge will be the First Lady. The audience will be the 50 people she is bringing, aboard a chartered flight costing USD500,000 per every 3 days.

What is the logic of flying 50 people to UK to compete against themselves in your own embassy in front of your own audience you flew in from Zimbabwe, and blow USD3million, yet the government could not buy ballot paper in the 2023 elections?

The development is coming at a time a doctor died because the government could not afford a helicopter to fly him from Mutare to Harare. The money could be used to buy a helicopter for emergencies.

What is the logic of the First Lady to go to England with people who will compete against themselves?

Coming to run a competition which could be done back home, and blow USD3mil.

The First Lady this year alone in her philanthropic work has become more travelled than former First Lady Grace Mugabe.

2 weeks ago she was in Spain. The previous week she was in Russia, and she was also in Switzerland. In July, she was in the US, from where she flew to UK, and then on to Russia, then Zimbabwe.

She briefly sat down for elections before setting off again.

In a year so far she has done over 58 trips. Above all these trips she is flying over to England to convene a function at the embassy where the employees have not been paid since May 2023.

The ambassador Christian Katsande has been booked into the same hotel buiding with thr First Lady, where the government is laying GBPLP1,000 per day for him alone, in addition to the GBP8,000 per month being paid for his private residence at a time when the embassador’s official house co tiniest without an occupant.

After the last ZimEye article 2 years ago exposing the ambassador’s extravagance which story later spilt to the Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube, the renovation bill for the ambassador’s house was suddenly dropped from GBP1,240,000 down to GBP300,000.

This is not the first time the ambassador is doing good this and on Auxillia’s last visit, the ambassador abandoned the house he is paying GBP8,000 per month, to rent her hotel premises where he was paying GBP1500 per day.

Ambassador Katsande was reached for a comment over these issues.

Why is the ambassador doint this, when he has a house that is so large that it has conference rooms?

Why would the ambassador travel to spend nights in a hotel building with the First Lady alone in her husband’s absence?

The spending does not stop here. When the First Lady arrives in UK, the ambassador is hiring a bullet proof car from a friend of the his who is charging the state GBP1,000 per day. The car is one of 10 other vehicles.

The other 9 cars are being hired from the same supplier who also last supplied Mr Mnangagwa at the COP26 Climate Change Conference.

The ambassador confirmed the Auxillia Mnangagwa meeting in a recent public meeting.

– Meanwhile, for painting the embassy building, the ambassador gave the contract to his nephew, who is walking away with GBP122,000 for paint works to the small The Strand property.

When Auxillia last visiter UK, ZANU PF members, one of them, Dr Masimba Mavaza deceived activists, saying she was addressing people in Wales, only to find out that she was in Cambridge.

ZimEye can reveal her hotel is a posh London one that costs nearly GBP1,000 per day.

Efforts to get further comment from the ambassador were fruitless as he did  not return calls for over 2 weeks. Mrs Mnangagwa was neither taking calls. Both however did receive questions that centre around why they are both booking into the same hotel, and why her visit is blowing over GBP3million for a function that could have been held in Harare.

Henrietta Rushwaya conviction.

Her flight comes at a time, the Miners Federation Presidemt Henrietta Rushwaya has been jailed over gold smuggling, and multiple impeccable sources told ZimEye the prosecution has nothing to do with the rule of law, it is an opportunity Auxillia has pounced on to get Rushwaya put out of the scene. ” You need to understand that whatever Auxillia says, goes, as she’s the one running things now,” said one source.

It could not be obtained at the time of writing why on earth Mrs Mnangagwa is after Rushwaya when she is touted in various circles as a niece relative of Mr Mnangagwa’s.

Another went on to allege that Axullia is not responsible for just the downfall of Rushwaya, buy also of former Energy Minister Fortune Chasi, and in the last few weeks, the classy businessman, Tinashe Mutarisi, who has posted many cryptic messages around the time his factory building was burnt down. It was claimed that the reason he was targeted is because he did not donate enough money to her Angel Of Hope Foundation.

A small peep into Auxillia Mnangagwa’s personality is reflected in Al Jazeera’ GoldMafia part 1 to 4 documentary which has the controversial ambassador Uebert Angel announcing that she is the one in charge. Zimbabwe’s lengthiest expose’ of Auxillia is a videocall she made by mistake to Simba Chikanza on 14 May 2022, shortly before she received community protection from the activist Hopewell Chin’ono, who threatened Chikanza claiming she had been blackmailed.

The late President Robert Mugabe’s party spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire briefly touches on this development saying:

Hopewell Chin’ono’s blackmail threat against Simba Chikanza

Mliswa Credits Matanda Moyo With Henrietta Conviction

By A Correspondent| Former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has credited former Zimbabwe Anticorruption Commission (ZACC) chairperson and now Prosecutor General Loice Matanda Moyo for the conviction of Zimbabwe Miners Federation (ZMF) boss Henrietta Rushwaya.

Posting on Twitter, Mliswa described Matanda Moyo as an iron lady who will leave no sacred cows in fighting corruption.

“The Iron Lady is now in office and there are no sacred cows. This is a big statement and shows the serious intent of Justice Matanda-Moyo, the newly appointed Prosecutor General. Such moves will enhance public confidence in her institution. Corruption should be fought seriously,” said Mliswa.

Rushwaya (56) was convicted for trying to smuggle 6kg of gold out of Zimbabwe through Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport in 2020.

High Court judge Justice Pisirayi Kwenda remanded her in custody to November 10, 2023 for sentencing.

After all posturing CCC withdraw court challenge of recalled MPs – blundering incompetence Zimbabwe can ill afford

By Wilbert Mukori| After all the grandstanding and finger pointing by Chamisa following the recall of the party’s elected officials, the case ends with yet another humiliating defeat for CCC. The High Court challenge of the recall ended before it has even began with CCC withdrawing the case and apologising profoundly with their tails tucked between their legs!

“Justice Munamato Mutevedzi of the Harare High Court has reserved judgement in an application brought by recalled CCC MPs and Senators who want the court to declare that Sengezo Tshabangu had no legal authority to cause their recalls. Judge said ruling before November 7,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“The MPs have withdrawn their relief which they sought against the Speaker of Parliament where they accused him of illegal expelling them from Parliament at the behest of the Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu.”

The people of Zimbabwe have been slow to recognised MDC/CCC leaders for who they really are, the corrupt and incompetent and blundering from pillar to post.

Chamisa dragged the nation into the 23 August elections claiming he had closed all the vote rigging loop-hole. It was all nonsense of course, the voters’ roll was in shambles and he failed to do even something as basic as deploying elections agents at all the polling stations. What mattered is that he managed to con many Zimbabweans to participate giving the process some modicum of credibility.

This High Court challenge of the recalled MPs and Senators is just one more case of CCC’s endless blunders.

The people of Zimbabwe are grateful to the SADC Election Observers (SEOM) who decided to look at the evidence in the conduct of the August elections and ignore CCC’s posturing. SEOM condemned the election process as a farce and rightly so too.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life, limb and livelihood to elect MDC/CCC leader into power for express purpose they would implement the necessary democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. After 23 years including 5 in the GNU MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one token reform. Not one!

Many Zimbabweans still continue to put all their hopes for democratic changes on Chamisa and his friends because these people have no clue what these necessary democratic reforms are much less how they were to be implemented. Even today with the benefit of hindsight, they still have no clue Chamisa and company sold out big time be failing to implement even one reform.

If you have no clue what the reforms are, how can you blame some one for failing to implement something you don’t know!

On Saturday 4 November 2023, SADC heads of state and government are meeting in Angola to decide what to do with Zimbabwe visa vie the damning SEOM report. It was pretty damning alright!

“Conclusion 13.3

The SEOM noted that, as detailed in sections 6 and 7 of this report, some aspects of the Harmonised Elections fell short of the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021),” stated the report.

The only rational course of action for SADC heads is to uphold the report and deny Zanu PF and their political side-kick, CCC, political legitimacy. When SADC came up to a similar conclusion following the flawed and violent 2008 elections, the regional body invited the three main political parties at the time, Zanu PF led by Robert Mugabe, MDC-T and MDC- M led by Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara; to form the 2008 to 2013 GNU.

The primary task of the GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to restore the people’s freedoms and rights and put an end to the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. But, as we already know, not evening toke reform was implemented.

This is no doubt in my mind that back in 2008 SADC leaders must have considered the possibility that the 2008 to 2013 GNU would fail to implement at least many of the reforms given the leaders in all the three parties were corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. If SADC leaders doubted the competence of 2008 GNU to implement reforms this time they know that having Zanu PF and CCC leaders in any interim arrangement means no meaningful reforms will be implemented.

What Zimbabwe needs going forward is a National Transition Authority comprising of technocrats who can be entrusted the primary task of implementing the democratic reforms. This would be the second chance the nation has had to implement the reforms and get the nation back on a democratic footing. We must make this one count.

Controversial Zanu PF Aligned Cleric In Kidnapping Storm

By A Correspondent| A prominent Zanu PF-aligned cleric who is known for abusing women and getting away with such allegations because of his association with the ruling party, Obadiah Musindo is at it again—this time detaining an orphan and turning her into a sex machine.

The preacher, who calls himself revered although he doesn’t have a church or congregation that he leads, is alleged to have detained a 23-year-old Aisha at a five-star hotel turning her to be his wife.

The 54-year-old Destiney of Africa Network leader has allegedly withdrawn phones from Aisha who is an orphan and was introduced to him as a girl looking for a job.

“He is sleeping with this girl daily and her family is busy looking for her. They have been threatened that even if they go to the police, Musindo will not be arrested. They are booked in room 1023 Rainbow Towers. Every day he is at the hotel and the girl is not allowed to go out on her own. She moves around with some girls who are being paid by the reverend to keep an eye on Aisha,” said a source.

Musindo is not new to controversy, having been accused of raping his maid in 2004 and then spending over a decade fighting that the case does not proceed in court.

Early this year, he was arrested for defrauding a colleague of US$5,800 after taking phones from him and promising that Zanu PF benefactor Kuda Tagwirei was going to pay for them.

“He lives a lavish lifestyle financed by extortion and claims that he was working for President Emmerson Mnangagwa. He claims to be taking care of underprivileged girls when in fact he is making them his wives,” another source said.

Last year, Musindo was gifted with a Ranger Rover by Tagwirei for campaigning for Zanu PF. However, according to sources, the vehicle was sold for a song as he sought to finance his lavish lifestyle at the five-star hotel.

“Do you know that Musindo has no home? He appears to be well-connected to the top leadership, but he lives off extortion. He goes around concocting stories against top people and demanding money in return,” said a source.

“There is another girl by the name of Mercy Hwehwe who is now in Kwekwe, she was impregnated and left to struggle on her own. Even the child has no birth certificate,” the source said.

A source close to developments revealed names of some who have fallen victim to Musindo’s antics, which include using his Zanu PF links to threaten the girls and at times employment opportunities.

A hotel staff member provided further details including the room number from which he operates at the busy hotel located at the edge of Harare’s Central Business District (CBD).

Details have also emerged that Musindo recently impregnated an orphan he had been taking care of (name supplied).

“Musindo has been doing this for years and the hotel continues to house him despite its full knowledge of his actions,” said a source at the five-star hotel.

“The girls cannot report this to the police because he threatens them or at times sweet talks some of them promising them employment or money to start projects.

“He is currently staying with an orphan who got pregnant despite having misrepresented that he was simply taking care of her. At a certain point, they were joined by two other girls (one name supplied) and spent days without leaving their room.”

Musindo said the allegations were being peddled by his rivals whom he alleged have been tormenting him for years.

“Come and interview Aisha and hear if she is being abused. I know the biggest crime that I have done in my entire life is to support Zanu PF and President Mnangagwa. But I will not stop doing that,” he said.

Zanu PF Enlists Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ) for By-Election Campaigns

The ruling Zanu PF party has once again turned to its controversial affiliate, Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), to coordinate campaign efforts in the lead-up to the by-elections scheduled for December 9.

FULL TEXT- CCC bemoans wanton lawlessness in Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent- Opposition CCC has bemoaned the wanton lawlessness that has gripped Zimbabwe following the abduction and torture of one of its legislators, who is Zimbabwe’s youngest member of parliament Takudzwa Ngadziore.

CCC Spokesperson, Promise Mkwananzi called on SADC to facilitate a transitional authority to restore law and order in Zimbabwe.

Said Mkwananzi:

Hon@ngadziore, (the youngest Parliamentarian in Zimbabwe) was on his way to parliament when he was abducted by these rogue men. In the midst of the storm, he was brave enough to record & expose them.

We salute his courage & quick thinking under near fatal circumstances. A Police report will be made. This is yet another example of the ongoing wanton lawlessness that has gripped Zimbabwe since the advent of the sham election of the 23rd of August 2023. The only way to proceed is for

@SADC_News to facilitate a Transitional Authority that will restore law & order in Zimbabwe & work towards the consummation of a fresh, free & fair election. The continous targeting of prominent @CCCZimbabwe is designed to instill fear among the generality of the populace.

They know they did not win, they know the people are not happy & might rise & all this is meant to demobilise the people. But they will not succeed.

The people of Zimbabwe demand their vote back, they demand, change, they demand respect, respect of themselves as a people, respect of the rule of law, of the national constitution & institutions.

It also appears that the regime is preparing to defy SADC outcome if it is not favourable to them by turning into a totally rogue regime.

Zanu PF enlists FAZ in by-elections

By A Correspondent- Zanu-PF, has once again enlisted the assistance of its controversial affiliate, Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), to coordinate campaign activities for the upcoming by-elections on December 9.

These by-elections were triggered by the recall of 15 Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators and 17 councillors by Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim secretary-general of the CCC. Critics argue that Tshabangu is a creation of FAZ, aimed at destabilizing the opposition and bolstering the ruling party’s prospects.

The CCC has refused to participate in the by-elections, calling the recalls “fraudulent.” Instead, they are demanding fresh polls supervised by the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

FAZ, a shadowy organization associated with the Central Intelligence Organization (CIO), was involved in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s re-election in the previous polls. Several observer missions reported FAZ’s involvement in electoral malpractices, such as voter intimidation.

Zanu-PF’s involvement with FAZ has raised concerns of potential election rigging. Some analysts believe FAZ’s presence at the polls will intimidate voters and suppress dissent.

The Sadc election observer mission reported that the rural vote was compromised by intimidation attributed to FAZ during the previous elections.

This situation underscores concerns over the transparency and fairness of Zimbabwe’s electoral processes.

Political analyst Romeo Chasara expressed concerns about the ruling party’s intentions and its relationship with FAZ, which had played a significant role in the controversial elections.

Zimbabwe Election Advocacy Trust executive director Ignatious Sadziwa criticized Zanu-PF for its association with FAZ and questioned the party’s judgment.

This development has raised questions about the credibility of the upcoming by-elections and the level of transparency in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

Ivy Kombo, hubby nabbed for fraud and perjury

Gospel artist Ivy Kombo and her husband, Pastor Admire Kasi, have been apprehended for the fraudulent acquisition of counterfeit certificates enabling them to practice law in Zimbabwe, despite having acquired Bachelor of Laws degrees in England.

The couple is scheduled to appear in the Magistrates’ court later today to address allegations of fraud and perjury.

Their apprehension was carried out by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission’s investigative team.

Earlier this year, the couple was among the 12 lawyers who gained admission to the High Court, utilizing certificates that had been deceptively obtained with the assistance of a suspended official from the Council for Legal Education.

Upon successfully earning a law degree and fulfilling the requisite period of supervised legal work, all lawyers are typically sworn in as officers of the High Court. This status allows them to practice law independently, without supervision, and involves taking a dual oath affirming their loyalty to Zimbabwe and their commitment to their office.

Nick Mangwana Language Nakedness Spotted Dotted All Over Police Officer’s

By Dorrothy Moyo | The government spokesperson, Mr. Nick Mangwana, found himself trapped in an embarrassing situation that sent shockwaves through the nation. His exact words, which he and his boss, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, had been using for over 40 years, from 1983 to 2023, were suddenly exposed in a police report concerning the abduction of CCC party MP Takudzwa Ngadziore.

It was a crisp morning when the news broke that these phrases, synonymous with denial and deflection, had resurfaced in a most unexpected context. As the nation demanded answers about the disappearance of MP Takudzwa, the police claimed ignorance, stating they had only seen the case on social media. But what caught everyone’s attention was the uncanny resemblance between Mr. Mangwana’s statements and those of President Mnangagwa during critical moments in the country’s history.

In 1983, during the Gukurahundi massacre, Mr. Mnangagwa had said, “I’ve never heard of that… except reading of it in the press,” a phrase etched into the nation’s memory. Now, as the spotlight fell on MP Takudzwa’s abduction, Mr. Mangwana had seemingly echoed the same words. It was as if history was repeating itself, and the public was quick to draw parallels.

The déjà vu continued in 2019 during a crackdown condemned by UN experts. Mr. Mnangagwa’s statement, “We see all this on social media, but we’d want to see evidence,” was hauntingly familiar when, once again, Mr. Mangwana employed an almost identical phrase to respond to the public outcry.

The nation was left bewildered, their skepticism growing stronger as the spokesperson’s language seemed to mirror that of his boss, creating an uncanny pattern of denial and deflection. The credibility of their responses was under scrutiny, and the pressure on both Mr. Mangwana and President Mnangagwa to address the situation was intensifying.

As the nation awaited answers, they couldn’t help but wonder whether history was repeating itself, or if there was a deeper connection between Mr. Mangwana’s words and the actions of the government. The truth was elusive, but the people’s demand for transparency had never been stronger.

“CCC Needs Hopewell’s Awards For Survival So Must Allow Him Berate Chamisa On Auxillia Behalf”

By Farai D Hove | Once upon a time, in the heart of the nation, an award-winning journalist stood as a beacon of hope for those who believed in the power of truth and justice.

His reputation for exposing state corruption had made him a household name, and his voice resonated with the people who longed for a brighter future.

From July 2020, Mark Anderson began a series of scathing articles, televised exposés, and radio interviews. He pointed a finger at the highest levels of government, uncovering scandals that shook the very foundation of the nation. He was relentless, a fierce guardian of the people’s interests, or so it seemed.

As the months passed, his revelations grew bolder, and his audience larger. Later on in January 2023, he made a statement that sent shockwaves across the nation. In an undisputed leaked audio recording with a well known senior military intelligence officer, Mark Anderson could be heard berating the nation’s opposition leader, Nelson Chamisa. He accused Chamisa of being an incompetent party leader, a man who should be ousted from his position.

He even emphasised saying Chamisa must be removed because according to him, he is incompetent.

Anderson’s rage and determination was revealed as the recording continued. In it, he was heard making an announcement that the opposition party would split into two factions shortly after the 2023 elections. This was a shocking twist, as Anderson had been a staunch supporter of the opposition, or so it seemed.

But the events of the second week of October told a different story. The statement he made was not the result of his investigative journalism, but a well-crafted design to sow discord within the opposition party. He had used his platform and reputation to manipulate public opinion, all the while secretly conspiring against those who had trusted him.

As the nation grappled with this revelation, Anderson’s own words came back to haunt him. He had often criticized Chamisa for his frequent references to Bible verses, claiming it showed an obsession rather than true leadership. But now, it was Mark Anderson’s words and actions that were under scrutiny.

By February 2023, he would admit that he truly directed the country’# coup leader Constantino Chiwenga to regularly meet civil society leaders in order to reduce tension, at a time when UN investigations revealed there was no tension whatsoever, other than military crackdowns against civilians since Aug 2018, and into the 2019 shootings, during a time when multiple civil society reports say he leaked the addresses of safe houses of torture victims to the military, allegations that are undenied by him.

The journalist had turned from a champion of truth into a master manipulator, using his influence to destabilize the very opposition he had claimed to support. His fall from grace was swift, and the nation was left to grapple with the consequences of his treachery.

In an over 33 minute audio recording which went viral in January 2022, Mr Hopewell Chin’ono is heard saying, the CCC is splitting and Chamisa is incompetent because he has failed to tell people to go register to vote.

“He(Chamisa) spends time tweeting Bible verses instead of telling people go register to vote,” says Chin’ono to the man, audibly identified as Bruce.

Chin’ono then says, ” he himself (Chamisa) did not even come out to tell people to go register.”

A large database of live videos shows that in 2022, alone, Chamisa personally commissioned 964 meetings, and he is on various footage loudly urging and ordering people to go register to vote. 62 of these meetings were either disrupted of cancelled by ZANU PF authorities and some violently crushed. Many party members were killed during Chamisa’s campaigns for people to register to vote.

Chin’ono would later in January publicly announce on Twitter that the CCC and its leader, Chamisa, have not launched any voter registration campaign programs.

“The opposition hasn’t yet mounted an official voter registration campaign, yet it wants power.

“On this day, nothing has changed yet from yesterday, 2022,” he said on Twitter on 1 Jan 2023.

Chin’ono has confirmed the viral 33 minute audio as he joined his colleague Kuda Musasiwa on Twitter in saying there is no new information in the leaked audio.

“Vanopenga ava Mhofu! The level of desperation is embarrassing!,” said Chin’ono conjoining to, ” It’s absolute stupidity that someone “leaks” voice recording of @daddyhope when his free thoughts are always freely available on his personal timeline. When I want to know what Daddy Hope thinks I’ll look at his timeline. Not some clandestine “sting” with zero new information!”

To this, Musasiwa then said Chin’ono should not be afraid to speak his mind.

“Absolute madness. I have never seen you afraid to speak for yourself.

“Any(way) f*** them. Desperation,” he wrote.

In the ever-evolving political landscape of the nation, the saga took another unexpected twist. Nelson Chamisa, once the revered leader of his party, found himself at the center of a controversy that had been brewing since January 2023. The catalyst for this new chapter was a leaked audio recording that surfaced around October 10th.

In the recording, a voice eerily similar to that of Chamisa’s deputy could be heard. The speaker did not mince words, expressing discontent with the prevailing belief that Chamisa still held the party’s respect. “Anga apera ega,” he remarked, suggesting that Chamisa’s influence had waned considerably.

The bombshell came when the voice announced that they would soon issue a tweet declaring that they were no longer the president of anything. This announcement coincided with a tweet by none other than Chamisa’s former deputy, Tendai Biti. The political world watched in stunned silence as Biti’s tweet mirrored the words of the voice in the leaked audio.

The implication was clear: Chamisa’s party was in turmoil, and a divide had grown between the former leader and his deputy, Biti. It was a dramatic turn of events, especially given the accusations that had been leveled at Biti in Hopewell Chin’ono’s undisputed audio back in January 2023.

Biti had been accused of undermining Chamisa’s leadership, and the party’s impending split was said to be a direct result of their bitter rivalry. At the time of writing, Biti had yet to offer his response to the revelations, leaving the nation in suspense and uncertainty regarding the future of the opposition party.

The story serves as a stark reminder that the world of politics is rife with shifting allegiances, hidden agendas, and ever-changing dynamics. The impact of this revelation would reverberate throughout the nation’s political landscape, leaving citizens and observers alike wondering what the future would hold.

Jealous Husband Burns Down Clothes

Jealous Husband’s Violent Outburst Leads to Arrest.

BULAWAYO, November 3, 2023 – A shocking incident unfolded in Bulawayo’s Pumula North suburb as 38-year-old Blessed Ndlovu allegedly lost control of his emotions, resulting in the destruction of his wife’s clothes and her hospitalization.

Ndlovu, reportedly driven by jealousy and suspicions of infidelity, confronted his wife, Eppie Ncube, in a fit of rage upon returning home. The situation quickly escalated as tempers flared between the couple, with Ndlovu physically assaulting Ncube, leaving her with multiple injuries that required medical attention.

In an even more disturbing turn of events, while home alone, Ndlovu purportedly poured paraffin on his wife’s clothing and set them ablaze. Neighbors who rushed to the scene discovered the distressing sight of him burning Ncube’s clothes, and promptly alerted the authorities.

As a result, Ndlovu was taken into police custody and subsequently appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Learnear Khumalo. He faces charges of physical abuse and malicious damage to property.

During the court proceedings, Ndlovu pleaded guilty to the charges. He has been remanded out of custody until November 6, when he will receive his sentence.

Fake Post Mortem Doc Arrested

– Mutare Doctor Arrested for Allegedly Issuing False Post-Mortem Report.

In a shocking turn of events in a country marred by a history of alleged cover-ups, a prominent medical practitioner, Dr. Isdore Kasongo Mwamba, has been arrested for allegedly facilitating a false post-mortem report. The report was purportedly issued to protect murder suspects in the case of Collins Muchadya, a 23-year-old victim of a recent murder in Hobhouse 3.

Dr. Kasongo, aged 56, appeared before Mutare provincial magistrate Mr. Tendai Mahwe. He faces charges of defeating the course of justice and abuse of duty as a public officer under Section 184 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9: 23. He was released on US$500 bail with conditions that include reporting to CID Mutare every Friday and refraining from interfering with witnesses.

The allegations against Dr. Kasongo stem from the murder case of Collins Muchadya, who was reportedly fatally assaulted by bouncers Tawanda Gwata and Lee Dzitsi. It is believed that the doctor and the murder suspects conspired to manipulate the post-mortem report. Initially, the report indicated that the cause of death was ‘indeterminate,’ and it mentioned that the deceased had bruises on his body but was otherwise intact.

However, suspicions of foul play arose, leading to a request for a second post-mortem examination conducted at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare. The second report, completed by Dr. Robert Guillier, concluded that Muchadya’s death was due to traumatic shock and polytraumatism due to excessive blows.

The post-mortem report and the application for post-mortem forms, with Dr. Kasongo’s alleged forged statement, were recovered as evidence. As a result, Dr. Kasongo now faces charges related to these discrepancies in the post-mortem reports.

The murder suspects, Gwata and Dzitsi, are currently at large, while an accomplice in the case, Jealous Mukorera, who is allegedly Muchadya’s uncle, has been remanded in custody.

This case has caused a stir in the local community, with residents demanding justice and expressing their outrage over the brutal murder of Collins Muchadya. The circumstances surrounding the case have raised questions about the integrity of the medical profession and the need for a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served.

The arrest of Dr. Kasongo in connection with this case is a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining the trust and integrity of post-mortem examinations and the justice system in the country. The case is set to continue with further investigations and legal proceedings to determine the facts and deliver justice in the matter. – state media

Notorious Robber Caged

A 21-year-old man from Domboshava has been sentenced to a cumulative 71 years in prison for rape and armed robbery.

Goodwill Mhandu proved to be an enemy to mankind just like his surname suggests, after his unkind actions toward women he raped and robbed in his neighborhood in Domboshava.

The 21-year-old will, however, pay for his inhumane actions as he will serve over 30 years behind bars.

Mhandu was initially sentenced to a cumulative 71-year jail term before some years were suspended.

He was slapped with a 15-year jail term each for three rape cases.
The years will run concurrently.

He was also given a cumulative 26 years for armed robbery and will serve an effective 19-year jail term, bringing his total jail term to 34 years.

Goodwill Mhandu committed the crimes over a two-year period in his neighbourhood of Domboshava.

Prosecutor Miss Ethel Mahachi proved that the 21-year-old’s crimes were premeditated and well-calculated as he targeted women selling in tuck shops whom he raped before robbing them of groceries.

His tricks started sometime in 2021 when he pounced on an unsuspecting victim who was sleeping in a tuckshop and raped her three times.

He also went on to rape another woman in Domboshava after waylaying her while armed with an iron bar and a knife.

Mhandu ran out of luck after he was arrested in Domboshava early this year after police acted on a tip-off.

Dog Used On Employee

Farmer Accused of Assaulting Employee and Unleashing Dog.

Sean Minter, a commercial farmer from Hunyani Estates, has been accused of physically assaulting his employee, Isaac Mareko (36), and unleashing a vicious dog on him. This alleged incident has led to legal charges against Minter, including one count of assault and another count of releasing a dangerous dog, both of which are in violation of Section 46(2) (r) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.

Minter appeared before Rusape magistrate, Mrs. Patience Chirimo, and pleaded not guilty to both charges. The case is being prosecuted by Mr. Takunda Muzenda.

According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on April 20 during a dispute related to work matters between Minter and Mareko. As tensions escalated, Minter allegedly resorted to violence.

Mr. Muzenda stated, “On April 20, the accused person proceeded to the farm compound to resolve a work-related dispute between him and Mareko. Upon arrival, Minter had a misunderstanding over a radio with Mareko. Minter held Mareko by the collar tightly. He also grabbed him by the neck using his arm and stepped on his right leg toe.”

Additionally, Minter is accused of setting his dog on Mareko, resulting in a bite on the victim’s right thigh. Mareko sustained injuries in the form of dog bites on his thigh, and he underwent a medical examination, with a medical report that can be produced in court as evidence.

The case has been adjourned to November 8 for judgment. The allegations of physical assault and the unleashed dog have raised serious concerns, and the court will now determine the outcome of this distressing incident.- state media

Chinhoyi Hospital Boss Arrested

CHINHOYI Provincial Hospital Medical Superintendent Collet John Mawire has been arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on allegations of criminal abuse of office.

ZACC spokesperson Commissioner Thandiwe Mlobane confirmed Mawire’s arrest this Wednesday.

“I can confirm that Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital Provincial Medical Superintendent Collet John Mawire was arrested yesterday on allegations of criminal abuse of office and he is expected to appear in court this Wednesday,” she said.

Allegations are that sometime in 2021, Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital sought to procure a 500 EX HT Expandable PABX Machine which was then valued at more than ZWL$2 million.

It is alleged that to fast-track the process, Mawire and his accomplice who is still at large, authorised a request for quotations knowing fully well that the value involved was way above the required threshold.

According to ZACC, investigations revealed that Mawire approved a payment of the amount.

It is also alleged that despite the value of the goods procured being way above the required threshold for quotations, the co-accused proceeded to use the request without seeking approval and or exemption from the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe.

The accused is expected to appear at the Chinhoyi Magistrates Court this Wednesday.
