GOVERNMENT has issued a stern warning to malcontents who are bent on disrupting public order.
In a media briefing in Harare this Friday, Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services Minister, Dr Jenfan Muswere, who is also Acting Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage, rapped criminal and opportunistic elements for attempting to instigate anarchy and despondency in the country.
“Government has observed attempts to instigate anarchy and despondency by some criminal and opportunistic elements in the opposition, some politicians and some Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). This is in line with their well-documented modus operandi to seek attention and raise funding to try to resurrect their political careers through subverting the will of the people. Therefore, as Government we are warning perpetrators of these serial choreographed theatrics who are involved in subversive activities aimed at undermining the rule of law that their days are numbered and that their lawless plans will never see the light of day,” he said.
The government also reaffirmed its commitment to national security and upholding of the rule of law.
“The Government reaffirms its commitment to protecting the nation and the citizens by ensuring that law and order prevail. Law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to apprehend all those who undermine the justice delivery system through causing chaos and mayhem. Finally, the Government is assuring members of the public that the security forces have adequate capacity to maintain law and order in terms of the constitutional mandate.”
It also emerged law enforcement agencies are on high alert to apprehend malcontents who undermine the justice delivery system through instigating chaos.
REAKING NEWS: PRETORIA PROSECUTOR ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED CORRUPTION . . A 31-year-old district prosecutor in Pretoria has been released on bail following her arrest on allegations of corruption, extortion, and obstructing the administration of justice. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) confirmed that Ignacia Koketso Mahlakwane was granted bail of R5,000 in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
According to NPA spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana, on July 6, 2023, Mahlakwane allegedly accepted a bribe of between R70,000 and R80,000.
“It is further alleged that Mahlakwane, along with her accomplice, declined to prosecute a man charged with assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm,” Mahanjana stated. The man, now the complainant, initially refused to pay the requested amount on October 24, 2023. “Mahlakwane, acting in concert with her accomplice, issued a J175 summons for the man to appear in court. The complainant then reported the matter to the police,” Mahanjana added.
The complainant eventually paid the money, leading to further investigation by the National Anti-Corruption Detectives Unit. Mahlakwane was arrested on Wednesday, June 26, at her workplace in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court.
After an unopposed bail application, the case was postponed to August 28 for further investigation. The NPA reiterated its commitment to fighting corruption at all levels, including within its own ranks.
In a recent development sparking widespread controversy, opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has strongly criticized President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration for the denial of bail to Jameson Timba and fellow opposition members.
The group was detained following their organization of an event commemorating the Day of the African Child.
The incident has drawn sharp condemnation from Chamisa, who voiced his concerns about the erosion of judicial independence under the current regime.
In a poignant statement released on Saturday, Chamisa articulated his stance:
“THE COURTS AS GUARANTORS OF RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES…The courts are the custodians, guardians and guarantors of justice. The last bastion of our collective dignity and sanity. Courts are entrusted to uphold fundamental rights and freedoms.
When they lose their independence and professionalism, they inevitably fail and fall short in this duty. And when they do so, they inadvertently surrender the frontiers of justice, rights and fundamental freedoms to beasts who cannibalize the innocent and feast on citizens liberties. The right to bail is one fundamental right that must never be compromised, negated or undermined. We will fix all this in no time! #NewDawn #ForEveryone”
Chamisa’s words underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the importance of upholding constitutional rights, including the right to bail.
He criticized what he perceives as an encroachment on judicial integrity, arguing that such actions undermine justice and erode the foundation of democratic principles.
The denial of bail to political activists like Jameson Timba has sparked protests and calls for reform within Zimbabwe, with many accusing the government of using legal means to suppress dissenting voices.
The incident has once again brought international attention to Zimbabwe’s human rights record, prompting calls for Mnangagwa’s administration to uphold the rule of law and respect fundamental freedoms.
As the political landscape in Zimbabwe continues to evolve, Chamisa’s outspoken stance against perceived injustices reflects a broader sentiment among opposition circles and civil society advocates.
His vow to “fix all this in no time” signals a commitment to challenging what he views as a systemic undermining of democratic institutions.
The unfolding events surrounding the denial of bail to Timba and his colleagues serve as a stark reminder of the challenges facing Zimbabwe’s democratic journey.
As calls for justice grow louder, the spotlight remains on Mnangagwa’s government to address concerns over civil liberties and ensure a fair and transparent judicial process for all citizens.
It was in 1996 when we became friends. I was in grade 6 and he was in grade 7.

I was selected to be part of the UNIFORMED SCHOOLS in the Harare region qualifiers.

Norman did not come for the 1st day of the tournament and missed out on the vetting process,we were knocked out in the semis and had to play the 3rd/4th place match the next day.
Our chief striker arrived and was in the team. 7 mins in he had scored a brace ,1 official found it odd to see a team with such a prolific striker not playing in the final,he asked for the match to be stopped and have Norman checked to see if he had the nail polish that was used during vetting the previous day and unfortunately he didn’t so he was ejected from the match but we kept our goals but 1 man down.
Fast forward to 2001,Norman was scoring for fun for the reserves.
He got his chance in the 1st team and on his debut scored a brace vs Circle United as an 18 yr old. He never looked back,he became a regular player.

Fraud-accused businessman Mike Chimombe and his colleague Moses Mpofu were difficult to arrest, as described by the State’s representative, Anesu Chirenje, in a Harare magistrate’s court on Thursday.
Chirenje opposed their bail, supported by Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission investigating officer Gamuchirai Zimunhu, who explained to magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa that the two had been elusive.
Zimunhu testified that Chimombe and Mpofu interfered with investigations by taking and posting videos of their visits to ZACC offices on social media.
This behavior, Zimunhu argued, could lead to public disorder and erode trust in the justice system, as it might seem like ZACC catches and releases suspects without consequence.
Zimunhu detailed the difficulties in apprehending the accused, recounting that on Tuesday, June 25, a significant part of the day was spent unsuccessfully searching for them at their residences.
Despite arranging a meeting through their lawyer, Mr. Mugiya, the accused failed to appear as promised. Chimombe claimed to be out of Harare, and Mpofu was supposedly at his farm in Zvimba.
When they did not show up as arranged, a manhunt was initiated after the suspects turned hostile.
In a startling declaration that has sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s political landscape, controversial Zanu PF member Killer Zivhu has boldly proclaimed the identity of the country’s future president. In a social media post, Zivhu hinted at an individual with a specific ancestral totem ascending to the highest office in the nation, sparking intense speculation and concern within the ruling party.
Zivhu’s statement, made on a platform known for its reach and influence, has been interpreted as a direct challenge to the current administration led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
“Ane mutupo uyo, is the next President after varipo ikozvino, kuda kana kusada kwenyu,” Zivhu’s post read, loosely translated from Shona, Zimbabwe’s predominant language.
The implications of Zivhu’s revelation are profound, especially against the backdrop of ongoing political maneuvering within Zanu PF.
With discussions around extending President Mnangagwa’s term already contentious, Zivhu’s pronouncement could exacerbate internal divisions and fuel speculation about succession planning within the party.
Zivhu, known for his outspoken nature and occasional clashes with party leadership, has historically been a divisive figure.
His latest statement is expected to further strain relations with Zanu PF heavyweights who are keen to maintain stability and control over the party’s political agenda. Sources within the party have suggested that Zivhu’s remarks might lead to disciplinary action or further isolation within party ranks.
The timing of Zivhu’s declaration adds another layer of complexity to Zimbabwe’s political landscape, which has been marked by economic challenges and social unrest in recent years.
As the country navigates through a delicate phase of its democratic evolution, such statements from influential figures can influence public opinion and shape political discourse in unforeseen ways.
While Zivhu’s prediction remains speculative at this stage, its impact on the political climate in Zimbabwe cannot be understated.
As the nation braces itself for potential developments in the coming months, Zivhu’s words serve as a reminder of the fluidity and unpredictability of Zimbabwean politics, where allegiances and aspirations can quickly shift.
In response to inquiries regarding his statement, Zivhu remained steadfast, emphasizing his conviction without divulging further details.
“Ane mutupo uyo,” Zivhu reiterated, standing by his assertion as speculation continues to swirl within political circles and among the Zimbabwean populace.
As the situation unfolds, observers both within Zimbabwe and abroad will closely monitor developments within Zanu PF and broader political movements, keenly aware of the implications for the nation’s future leadership and stability.
Zivhu’s pronouncement has set the stage for a potentially transformative chapter in Zimbabwe’s political narrative, challenging established norms and setting the groundwork for future debates and decisions within the ruling party and beyond.

By Dr. Raymond Chamba |The recycled stories of reported Shona-Ndebele conflict are nothing more than a sponsored distraction from the real issues at hand. The real issue is the massive pillaging of national resources through structured arrangements from the highest offices for the benefit of the “tender ronnies.”
The public should not be misled into focusing on trivial distractions. We must not be diverted by minor issues when we are dealing with the metaphorical elephants, buffaloes, and lions of endemic corruption. We are a mature society, long aware of the imagined differences between us, and we should not be played like this.
Never again shall we allow our perceived differences to be sharpened into weapons that harm our national unity. We will not be distracted by trivial stories of corrupt individuals or politically motivated tribal conflicts. Instead, we must focus on exposing the mafioso dealings within our midst.
The desperation of state-sponsored retailers of mass distraction is evident. Stories about Mai TT, Panganai Java, and other social media controversies are failing to capture the critical attention they once did. The days of easily selling salacious nonsense are coming to an end. They might as well try to divert attention by killing themselves—that’s guaranteed to work.
The efforts to destroy the corruption narrative are sometimes humorous but never amusing. These committed individuals would sponsor multiple road traffic disasters if it meant creating new headlines. However, they cannot easily shift national attention away from the pressing issue of high-level corruption.
Attempts to give political traction to isolated incidents, like the Bubi stories, are akin to trying to mask the overpowering smell of a public bus fart with loud singing. The overpowering stench of corruption cannot be erased by even the sweetest melodies.
High-level corruption originating from and protected by those in power has an enduring stench that will linger for a long time. Every time the President speaks, it’s impossible not to think of him as an unindicted felon, merely waiting for justice to catch up with his crimes.
We are ruled by thieves. This is the undeniable truth, and no attempt to hide it will shift our collective focus. As I have stated before, “we are being led by a government of crooks, for crooks, cheered on and defended by crooks.”
It was in 1996 when we became friends. I was in grade 6 and he was in grade 7.

By A Correspondent| Winston Chitando, the minister of mines, has allegedly drawn criticism for allegedly misusing the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development to further his legal interests.
The Minister was transferred to the Local Government Ministry last year, and his return to the Mines Ministry is now shrouded in mystery. This is the time of the most recent scandal. Chitando is being sued in several courts for the way he handled mining conflicts.
Chitando is currently involved in a conflict over mine ownership. He is accused of stealing gold claims from Anesu Gold, a company controlled by local businessman Yakub Mohamed, and transferring them to Gold Reef Mining, a company in which he was a shareholder.
Ironically, the Ministry of Mines has been defending Chitando’s side in this ownership issue, which has since spread to the courts. The ministry of Mines has acted as the mine owner in the majority of cases.
This has reportedly occurred in the majority of Chitando’s court cases. There is a strong suspicion that Chitando has been enabling his Ministry to fight his battles by abusing his position of authority and influence.
“Since then, the Praesidium of the nation has discussed this matter, and the majority of the harmed parties are now thinking of filing formal reports with the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (Zacc),” a source said.
Yakub reportedly believes Chitando has been receiving an unfair benefit as a result of his involvement in this situation, and he has already contacted the Ministry of Mines about it.
Efforts to get a comment from Chitando drew blanks.
In the High Court application, Mohamed claimed that Anesu Gold is the registered owner of the claims which are also referred to as Mangoro claims (Ipanema).
Chitando’s lawyer Lovemore Madhuku failed to depose an opposing affidavit to rebut the allegations when he appeared before High Court judge Justice Rogers Manyangadze.
The other respondent, Golden Reef, was represented by Welshman Ncube.
Ncube argued that Anesu Gold had failed to establish a locus standi in its founding affidavit.
Chitando is not new to scandals and this year a Harare resources firm slapped Chitando with a slew of criminal charges for allegedly corruptly awarding lucrative gold claims in Bindura to a rival miner.
The charges, which range from abuse of public office to fraud, relate to how Chitando, who is now the Local Government minister, handled a dispute over four gold claims between Blackgate Investments and a company called Ran Mine and G&P Industries.
Chitando resolved the dispute in favour of Ran Mine and G&P Industries, which is currently running operations at the gold claims.
Ran Mine in Bindura has been operating for over a century but has been the scene of some of the worst mining accidents in the country in recent years.
The claims that are at the centre of the dispute are Kimberley 18 and 19, which Chitando awarded to Ran Mine and G&P Industries in his 2021 determination.
Ran Mine and G&P Industries have been at loggerheads with Blackgate for over 15 years, according to documents seen by Alpha Media Holdings’ investigative unit, the Truth Diggers.
In the dockets filed at Harare Central Police Station on January 24 this year, Blackgate claims criminal activities involving a string of powerful individuals took place ahead of Chitando’s determination.
Onesimo Moyo, the former Mines and Mining Development permanent secretary, was also separately slapped with criminal charges in the dockets that were submitted to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and several key government agencies.
In another related matter, Barrington Resources, a mining firm linked to Chitando last year suffered a massive setback in its quest to block Pulserate, a firm linked to the Moti Group from mining lithium at a lucrative Good Days resource in Mutoko, Mashonaland East after the High Court threw out its application.
Under Case number HC 8671/22, Barrington Resources as the applicant made an application for the resolution of a boundary dispute relating to the boundaries of conflicting lithium claims owned by Barrington and Pulserate respectively, who both contend that their claim includes within boundaries of the Good Days Mine.
Chitando has been facing conflict of interest accusations in the matter following allegations that he owns Barrington Resources.
Chitando is also linked to Hanzu Resources, another mining company.
Chitando in his capacity as Minister of Mines and Mining Development was cited as the third respondent and some of the accusations traded by the parties entangled the minister in the dispute in his capacity.
It was contended that the coordinates that Barrington Resources claimed are the correct ones cannot be proved without showing the court that due process was followed in their pegging.

By Special Correspondent | ZimEye | A fire broke out at the home of Deputy Finance Minister David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa, son of President Emmerson Mnangagwa. The blaze erupted late last night and reignited this morning, causing significant damage to the property located on Mt Camel Road in Borrowdale.
This incident follows closely on the heels of recent alarming events where police reported two separate break-ins at the same property. Moreover, the discovery of several bullets planted inside the Deputy Finance Minister’s residence just days ago has heightened concerns over security.
Impeccable sources have revealed to ZimEye that this incident is not isolated. The homes of over 12 senior aides (ministers) of President Mnangagwa have been stormed into by unknown assailants in recent days. These attacks echo the tumultuous pre-2017 coup period when Sydney Sekeramayi, a favored successor to Mugabe, experienced a similar home invasion.
Sources suggest that these attacks are sending a clear message: the ground is no longer stable under Mnangagwa and his close circle of elites. The targeted individuals are reportedly exclusive beneficiaries of lucrative state tenders and protected business opportunities, which have fostered widespread resentment.
The unfolding series of attacks has created an atmosphere of unease and uncertainty within the highest echelons of Zimbabwe’s political landscape. The implications of these developments remain to be seen, as authorities continue their investigations into the motives and identities of the assailants.
This is a developing story, and further updates will follow as more information becomes available.- ZimEye

Today(June 27), we mark the 16th anniversary of the tragic events of June 27, 2008, when Zimbabweans brutally murdered for rejecting Zanupf.
We honor the memories of those who lost their lives, were maimed, or suffered brutal violence during the violent runoff election.
Their bravery and dedication to the struggle will never be forgotten.
June 27, 2008, was a dark day in our history, marked by senseless violence, bloodshed, and intimidation.
Thousands of innocent citizens were ruthlessly killed and maimed for exercising their democratic right to vote for the opposition. This violence occurred in the lead-up to a runoff that became a solo candidacy after President Tsvangirai courageously refused to participate in a fraudulent process.
As we remember and honor our fallen heroes, we recommit to continuing their fight for a just, democratic, and free Zimbabwe, where all citizens’ rights and dignity are respected and protected.
Under the stewardship of President Chamisa, we will fight on until victory!
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we extend our sincere condolences on the passing of Norman Maroto, a cherished member of the Zimbabwe football family.
Norman’s contribution to Zimbabwean football was immense and profound. As a player, he graced the pitch with exceptional talent, earning admiration and respect from fans and peers alike. His transition into a football administrator further showcased his dedication to the sport, and his work with the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe (FUZ) was marked by a steadfast commitment to the welfare of players and the growth of football in our nation.

19-year-old beauty queen, Owami Ndlovu leaves for India this Thursday where she will represent the country at the international pageant starting this Saturday.
She joins more than 60 other beauty queens from across the globe who are vying for the crown.
Ndlovu is confident she will put up a great performance.
“I think I’ve managed to really get my ducks in a row and prepare properly, and I’m pretty confident that I will do well with the preparation that I’ve done so far, with the help of my family and friends. I think my preparation is pretty good, and I think I’m going to do pretty well at the Internationals. I think Zimbabwe was one of the last queens to be selected.
She added, “I’ve taken part in two local pageants and the first one I took part in, I didn’t do so well but I went back again and I ended up winning that one. That’s the one that I was meant to travel with last year when my visa got denied and then this one as well.”
The finals of the pageant are set for the 7th of July.
ZIMBABWE kicked off their 2024 COSAFA Cup with a one-nil victory over Comoros at the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium in Port Elizabeth, South Africa this Thursday.
The Warriors signalled their return to the regional tournament donning a substandard kit that did not even have a national flag on it.
By Crime and Courts Reporter- The City of Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume has confirmed that Zanu PF member and fraudster Mike Chimombe was awarded a tender scandal involving 500 streetlights in Harare.
The tender was floated to install 500 streetlights in the outstanding parts of the city to supplement the 1 202 installed through Rwanda Energy Group and ZESA. An investigation by the state media has revealed that Mr Chimombe allegedly used a fake company and falsified documents to secure the tender.
Mr Chimombe’s firm was then declared unsuccessful during a council debriefing.
Surprisingly, his company was awarded the tender, leading to Donax Enterprises Private Limited filing an application to challenge the procurement proceedings conducted by City of Harare.
In the documents perused by this publication, it is alleged that Donax was not notified of its disqualification or disbarment until the procurement go-ahead by the council.
This was despite the fact that bids containing false or misleading information were supposed to be rejected.
Donax lawyer, Advocate Lenon Rwizi of Jiti Law Chambers, could not be reached for comment.
It is alleged that Harare City Council knew that Mr Chimombe’s company falsified documents and misinterpreted information, but awarded it the tender nonetheless.
To secure the deal, it is said Mr Chimombe frequently visited council officials and allegedly influenced them to act in his favour.
Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume, told the state media that even though Mr Chimombe’s firm was awarded the tender some time ago, nothing has been done yet.
“It is shocking that these guys were given the tender a long time ago, but nothing concrete has been seen after being given full payment,” he said.
“These people must be blacklisted so that in future they must not be awarded such crucial tenders.” Mayor Mafume said action will be taken to bring such people to book.
“Necessary action will be taken against these people, for now the case is being handled by our auditors and all law enforcement authorities will help in the investigations of matters of this magnitude,” he said.

By Political Reporter- The US government has denied claims made by Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa regarding the presence of an American military base in Zambia, causing significant embarrassment for the Zimbabwean leader.
Earlier this month, Mnangagwa told Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg that Zambia posed a security threat to Zimbabwe, alleging that the United States heavily funded its security sector.
He claimed that the Americans were increasing their military presence in Zambia to isolate Zimbabwe.
However, during a virtual press briefing on Thursday, June 27, General Michael Langley, Commander of the US Africa Command and Marine Corps, dismissed Mnangagwa’s claims as “false.” Langley clarified that the United States did not have a military base in Zambia and had no plans to establish one:
“That [Mnangagwa’s allegations are] absolutely false. We have no base in Zambia and we have no plans to put one there. Our approach is Africa-led and US-enabled. We work closely; we have a deep partnership with Zambia,” Langley stated. “There is no base. We have increased security cooperation with them but there is no footprint and there is no base within our security cooperation office resident within the embassy.”
Langley also addressed regional security challenges throughout Africa and discussed his participation in the 2024 African Chiefs of Defence Conference held from June 24 to 26 in Botswana.
Mnangagwa’s remarks during his meeting with Putin on June 6, 2024, have strained relations between Zimbabwe and Zambia. He accused the “Americans of consolidating their power” in Zambia, “both in terms of security and financial support to make sure that we feel lonely.”
In response, Zambia’s Foreign Minister, Mulambo Haimbe, called on the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union (AU) to address the issue.
Speaking in the Zambian Parliament, Haimbe described Mnangagwa’s comments as an “unwarranted attack on Zambia’s sovereignty.”
“The statements made by President Mnangagwa are not only baseless but also damaging to the spirit of unity and mutual respect that underpins our regional cooperation,” Haimbe said. “We call upon SADC and the AU to address this matter decisively and conclusively to preserve the integrity of our regional partnerships.”
In April 2023, the US Africa Command (Africom) announced it was setting up an office in Zambia. Africom has various bases across Africa, but its presence in Zambia is limited to a security cooperation office within the American embassy.
Zambia, along with many other African countries, maintains close ties with the US and other Western democracies.
Conversely, countries like Zimbabwe and South Africa are aligned with authoritarian governments such as China and Russia.
By Political Reporter- The Emmerson Mnangagwa-led administration is in a state of panic over the possibility of mass protests akin to those currently shaking Kenya.
The regime has threatened to arrest any citizen suspected of inciting such demonstrations, revealing a deep-seated fear of public dissent.
Kenya’s ongoing protests, which have resulted in dozens of deaths, were sparked by President William Ruto’s proposed finance and tax law.
Like Mnangagwa, Ruto faces accusations of failing to deliver on promises made during his presidential campaign two years ago.
Acting Home Affairs Minister Jenfan Muswere told reporters in Harare on Thursday that the government would arrest any citizen suspected of initiating protests.
This announcement comes amid growing discontent among Zimbabweans over deteriorating economic conditions and rampant human rights violations perpetrated by the ZANU-PF government.
“This is in line with their well-documented modus operandi to seek attention and raise funding to try to resurrect their political careers through subverting the will of the people,” Muswere said. “Therefore, as government, we are warning perpetrators of these serial choreographed theatrics who are involved in subversive activities aimed at undermining the rule of law that their days are numbered and that their lawless plans will never see the light of day.”
Muswere said they have put the state security on high alert.
“Law enforcement agencies will not hesitate to apprehend all those who undermine the justice delivery system through causing chaos and mayhem. Finally, the government assures members of the public that the security forces have adequate capacity to maintain law and order in terms of their constitutional mandate,” he said. Under Mnangagwa’s rule, Zimbabwe has witnessed an escalation in authoritarian tactics that surpass even those of the late Robert Mugabe.
The current administration’s heavy-handed approach to dissent and its blatant disregard for human rights signal a deepening dictatorship that threatens the fabric of Zimbabwean society.
In a stirring address on Tuesday, Advocate Nelson Chamisa, the prominent opposition leader of Zimbabwe, delivered a message of gratitude and determination to the nation.
In a statement on Tuesday, Advocate Chamisa said :
“Thank you Zimbabwe! Fellow Zimbabweans, I can never thank you enough for all the support (spiritual, emotional, material, and political) you have given me and to the cause for a just, prosperous, and great Zimbabwe.”
His words resonated deeply with the gathered crowd, who responded with enthusiastic cheers and applause.
Chamisa, known for his impassioned speeches and charismatic leadership, continued to rally support around his vision for a Zimbabwe that embraces justice, prosperity, and greatness for all its citizens.
This promise underscored his commitment to the Zimbabwean people, emphasizing that their trust in him and his leadership would not be in vain.
“Our God is faithful. May God bless you! #Godisinit Thank you family,” Chamisa concluded, invoking both religious faith and familial camaraderie in his closing remarks.
These words not only highlighted his personal faith but also sought to unify Zimbabweans under a common hope for a brighter future.
Chamisa’s statement comes at a critical juncture in Zimbabwean politics, as the nation navigates challenges and seeks a path forward toward stability and growth.
His unwavering confidence and assurance to the nation reflect his determination to lead Zimbabwe toward a prosperous and just future.
As reactions poured in from across the nation, Chamisa’s words continued to resonate, inspiring hope and reaffirming his role as a pivotal figure in Zimbabwean politics.
Supporters praised his unwavering commitment and vision, while critics scrutinized the feasibility of his promises in the face of ongoing political complexities.
Nevertheless, Chamisa’s pledge—”You will never be disappointed”—stands as a testament to his resolve and the hopes he has instilled in millions of Zimbabweans.
His words not only encapsulate a promise but also serve as a rallying cry for unity and progress in a nation yearning for change.
In the days ahead, as Zimbabweans reflect on Chamisa’s address and its implications, the nation remains poised for further political developments.
Advocates and adversaries alike will scrutinize every word spoken, seeking clues to Zimbabwe’s future under the leadership of Nelson Chamisa—a leader whose words continue to echo through the hearts and minds of a hopeful nation.

In a move aimed at stabilizing its tumultuous economy, Zimbabwe recently introduced a new currency, the ZiG, alongside a new international currency code, ZWG.
This development marks a significant step in the government’s efforts to address longstanding economic challenges and hyperinflation that have plagued the nation for years.
Announced on Thursday, the introduction of the ZWG code alongside the ZiG currency signals the government’s intention to bolster confidence in its monetary system. According to the official statement, “Zimbabwe’s international currency code is now ZWG, after the introduction of the ZiG in April.
The codes ZWL and ZWG will run concurrently from June 25, 2024, to August 31, 2024, when the ZWL code is set to expire.”
The decision to implement a new currency and currency code reflects Zimbabwe’s ongoing struggle to stabilize its economy amidst hyperinflation and currency devaluation.
The ZiG, introduced in April, aims to streamline transactions and restore faith in the local monetary system, which has been marred by years of economic turmoil.
Economic analysts and stakeholders have varied opinions on whether the ZiG and its accompanying ZWG code will have a lasting impact on Zimbabwe’s economy.
Some experts cautiously welcome the move, noting that a stable currency and clear monetary policies are crucial for economic recovery.
By Political Reporter- The Police have said they are intensifying their investigation in a case in which President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son, David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa’s Borrowdale residence has been miraculously intruded for the second time in one month.
David Mnangagwa, who is also a deputy finance minister’s house, has this week and for the second time ‘raided’ by invisible intruders, who reportedly left empty gun cartridges at the door of his bedroom.
The residence, which is guarded by heavily armed Police, has been the site of two mysterious incidents this month.
The first intrusion took place on June 23 at around 10 PM.
Mnangagwa, who was watching TV with his wife, called the two police officers guarding his double-storey property on Camel Road after hearing unusual noises coming from the ceiling.
The officers surveyed the house and the perimeter but saw nothing suspicious.
At about 11:50 PM, Mnangagwa called the officers a second time and asked them to check the roof.
They found a bag loaded with some of the deputy minister’s possessions, including torn documents, two Apple MacBook laptops, and a MacBook iPad, all of which appeared to have been deliberately damaged. These items had been taken from Mnangagwa’s bedroom.
Mnangagwa also informed the police officers that his gun, a 9mm Beretta pistol with 15 live cartridges, was missing, along with US$500 cash that had been in the bag.
The intruder is said to have entered the kitchen, retrieved a loaf of bread from the kitchen unit, and dumped it on the floor near the door.
The intruder then went to the garage and cut the driver’s headrest of Mnangagwa’s parked Land Rover Defender.
On June 24, police officers, including a canine unit, combed the property but found no trace of the suspect and no evidence of any forced entry.
In the second incident, on June 25, an intruder whom Police are dubbing the “ghost raider” left six cartridges – three outside Mnangagwa’s main bedroom door and three on the lawn outside his house.
Just after 7:30 AM on June 26, Mnangagwa’s eight-year-old son went to his parents’ bedroom and, as he was about to knock on the door, saw a live cartridge lying on the floor.
The Police were called, and they located three cartridges within two meters of the door and another three on the lawn outside the property.
A source was quoted as saying, “Police are certain that the live cartridges inside the house were definitely not there when they attended the first incident. The two incidents have left Police thinking they are chasing a ghost raider. How is it possible to twice enter a house guarded by armed officers and then vanish into thin air?”

3. False Accusations: Making unverified and false allegations against people, including serious health claims, can harm reputations and cause unwarranted panic or fear.
4. Erratic and Manipulative Behaviour: Inconsistent statements and contradictory actions can create confusion and distrust among those she interacts with, potentially leading to volatile situations.
5. Public Incitement: Encouraging her followers to support her baseless claims and actions can incite public unrest and potentially mobilize her followers to commit harmful acts.
:
Mai Titi’s documented behaviour between 2015 and 2021 indicates a pattern of violence, manipulation, and public disturbance. Given the severity and frequency of her actions, she presents a significant risk to public safety. Continued monitoring and appropriate legal actions are necessary to mitigate these risks and ensure public safety. Her latest (June) instructions to her followers are all in all incitements, as she says:
”When I came out of prison, I was silent until I got provoked later on you then discover that it is better to focus on your husband who loves you now for some of you who come to my inbox sometimes I end up blocking you at least do a live video they say at least do a live so that people see you but how far would you go to try and prove everything? By A Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Republic Police has said investigations are underway in connection with a break-in at President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa’s house in Borrowdale.
Kudakwashe’s house was invaded by yet to be known people who ransacked the house and left live bullets in his bedroom.
According to ZimLive, on June 25, an intruder whom police are dubbing the “ghost raider” left six cartridges – three outside Mnangagwa’s main bedroom door and three on the lawn outside the double storey property on Camel Road which is guarded by two police officers.
The first breach took place on June 23 at around 10PM when Mnangagwa, who was watching TV with his wife, called the police officers after hearing unusual noises coming from the ceiling.
The officers surveyed the house and the perimeter but saw nothing suspicious.
By A Correspondent | People’s Unity Party (PUP) leader Herbert Chamuka has called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to cease the harassment of opposition parties in Zimbabwe, warning that the continued suppression of opposing voices may lead to protests and revolts.
“The government is using intimidation and arrests to silence us, but we will not be silenced,” Chamuka said in an interview with the publication.
“We will continue to speak out against corruption, mismanagement, and oppression, no matter the cost.”
Chamuka’s plea comes after a string of arrests of opposition leaders and activists, including Jameson Timba, leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) faction, and 70 others who were detained last week for allegedly holding an unauthorized political meeting.
“These arrests are a strategy aimed at instilling fear in those who wish to oppose ZANU-PF,” Chamuka said in an interview with this publication.
“They want to make sure that there is no voice opposing them till the 2028 election, but this tactic will backfire.”
Chamuka warned that prolonged suffering due to poor governance may lead to protests and revolts, citing the example of Kenya where youth are actively resisting President William Ruto’s government.
“Mnangagwa must know that the continued suppression of opposing voices will not silence the people forever,” Chamuka said.
“The people will rise up, and the consequences will not be good for the country. We are not asking for much, just the freedom to express ourselves, assemble, and participate in the democratic process without fear of persecution.”
Chamuka urged Mnangagwa to respect the rights of opposition parties and allow them to operate freely, without fear of persecution.
“We are not enemies of the state, but rather advocates for a better Zimbabwe. We want to work together to build a prosperous and democratic nation, but the government must meet us halfway,” Chamuka said.
The recent arrests have raised concerns about the state of democracy in Zimbabwe, and many are seeing it as a sign of desperation by the ruling party to maintain its grip on power, Chamuka added.
Chamuka has vowed to continue fighting for their rights, despite the challenges they face.
“We will not be deterred by arrests, intimidation, or violence. We will continue to stand up for what is right, and we will not rest until Zimbabwe is free and democratic.”

By Showbiz Reporter | The sociallite Mai Titi has for the first time appeared to apologise to First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for leading crowds to berate her.
The development follows an incident in May when Felistas Murata made her social media followers believe that she has spent Mother’s Day with Auxillia Mnangagwa’s husband (in the wife’s absence). The incident led to her followers beating Mrs Mnangagwa saying people uncomfortable with the announcement should themselves spend time with Auxillia.

Murata had posted the video of Emmerson Mnangagwa in an intoxicated state as he drank yellow whisky, a clip she used to claim that she has state level powers against her critics.
Speaking on video last week, Murata announced saying, “if there is anything I did to the First Lady and the President (Mukuru) I apologise,” she announced without admitting her wrongdoing.
Detailed Developments in the Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu Bail Hearing
Harare, Zimbabwe – June 27, 2024
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe has provided a significant update in the ongoing bail proceedings for Mike Chimombe (43) and Moses Mpofu (49). The case, involving allegations of fraud and corruption linked to the Presidential Goat Scheme, has drawn considerable attention.

Allegations and Evidence
Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu are accused of forging critical documents, including a ZIMRA tax clearance certificate and a NSSA compliance certificate, purportedly belonging to Blackdeck Private Limited. These forged documents were allegedly submitted to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development as part of a tender application for the highly scrutinized Presidential Goat Pass-on Scheme.

Investigative Findings:
The accused reportedly used the forged certificates to demonstrate compliance with ZIMRA and NSSA regulations.
Further investigations revealed that the QR code on the NSSA compliance certificate was from a different company.
The ZIMRA tax clearance certificate, purportedly issued to Blackdeck, was discovered to belong to another firm.
Misrepresentation and Financial Transactions
The Ministry of Lands contracted Blackdeck Private Limited on November 16, 2021. Significant financial transactions have been flagged:
Between April 21 and June 29, 2022, payments totaling ZWL698 million were transferred to Blackdeck’s account.
This was purportedly for the supply of goats, but subsequent audits and inspections revealed discrepancies.
Audit Findings:
The Ministry of Lands officials noted severe issues with the goats supplied:
Only 5,309 goats were received instead of the 72,179 specified for the first year.
3,292 Matebele bucks were supplied, but no Matebele does were delivered.
The quality of the goats did not meet the tender specifications, with 3,713 being non-compliant.
Legal Proceedings and Bail Hearing
During today’s bail hearing, the State presented key evidence via voce from the investigating officer. The bail hearing is set to continue tomorrow, with both Chimombe and Mpofu remaining in custody.
Prosecutor’s Statement: “Given the severity of the allegations and the potential flight risk, we are urging the court to deny bail until the full extent of the investigation is completed,” said the prosecuting attorney.
Public Reaction and Blackdeck’s Defense
In response to the allegations, Blackdeck Private Limited has issued a statement categorically denying any involvement in fraudulent activities. They clarified their role and financial dealings, emphasizing transparency and compliance.
Blackdeck’s Statement: “We categorically deny these allegations. All funds received were used for the procurement and maintenance of the goats, as per the contract terms. We urge the authorities to thoroughly investigate and verify all documentation,” said a company spokesperson.
Previous Clarifications
This development follows Blackdeck’s earlier statement, which refuted claims by Nick Mangwana and the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission that Mike Chimombe had officiated or received USD 40 million from the government in relation to the tender.
Company Clarification: “Cumulatively, the total payments received amounted to RTGS 1.6 billion (approximately USD 4.28 million), all accounted for in procurement and operational expenses.”
Public Interest Concerns
The case has heightened public scrutiny, not only due to its implications for the Presidential Goat Scheme but also because of broader concerns over corruption and transparency in government contracts.
Prominent figures and the general public have raised questions about the integrity of procurement processes and the potential for abuse in government tenders. This has led to widespread calls for reforms and increased oversight to prevent similar issues in the future.
Implications for Governance and Accountability
This high-profile case continues to unfold with significant public interest, particularly regarding the integrity of the Presidential Goat Scheme and broader implications for governmental transparency. The involvement of notable figures in the public discourse further emphasizes the critical need for reform and accountability in Zimbabwe’s public procurement systems.
As the bail hearing proceeds, updates will be provided on further legal arguments and court decisions.

In a chilling series of events that have rocked Zimbabwe’s political landscape, an unidentified intruder has brazenly breached the security of Deputy Minister of Finance David Mnangagwa’s residence, leaving behind bullets and a trail of destruction.
The incidents, which occurred on June 23rd and 25th respectively, have sparked concerns over heightened tensions within the ruling ZANU-PF party.
David Mnangagwa, son of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, reportedly found bullets ominously placed at his bedroom door after the intruder managed to enter his Borrowdale home on two separate occasions.
Alongside this unsettling discovery, the intruder also inflicted damage by vandalizing property, including computers and even Mnangagwa’s car seat.
The implications of these incidents extend beyond mere criminal intrusion; they underscore deep-seated fears of internal strife within ZANU-PF, Zimbabwe’s dominant political party.
Speculation abounds regarding potential motives behind the attacks, with some pointing to factional disputes or personal vendettas within the ranks of the ruling party.
The timing of these intrusions adds to the intrigue, as Zimbabwe navigates a complex socio-economic landscape marked by challenges such as inflation and unemployment.
Against this backdrop, the security breach at Mnangagwa’s residence raises critical questions about the stability and cohesion of the government, particularly within its leadership circles.
In response to these alarming developments, authorities have launched investigations to identify and apprehend the perpetrator(s) responsible for these targeted attacks.
The incidents have prompted calls for enhanced security measures not only for high-profile officials but also for broader community safety in Zimbabwe’s capital.
David Mnangagwa, known for his role as Deputy Minister of Finance and Investment Promotion, has refrained from public comment on the matter thus far.
His silence amidst these concerning events only serves to heighten public curiosity and concern over the potential ramifications for national security and political stability.
As Zimbabweans await further developments in this unfolding saga, the intrusion into Mnangagwa’s residence stands as a stark reminder of the challenges facing the nation in its journey towards stability and prosperity.
The swift resolution of these security breaches and the underlying issues they may represent will undoubtedly be closely watched both domestically and internationally.
A recent photograph depicting Senator Sengezo Tshabangu inside Zimbabwe’s State House has ignited a storm of controversy, leaving many citizens questioning the allegiances of the outspoken opposition figure. In the image, Tshabangu, currently serving as the interim Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), appears alongside other dignitaries, ostensibly participating in an event hosted by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The backlash has been swift and fierce, particularly from Zimbabweans disillusioned by the political landscape under Mnangagwa’s administration. Critics argue that Tshabangu’s presence at State House implies an endorsement of Mnangagwa’s disputed presidency, despite his affiliation with the opposition.
The event in question, which was reportedly centered on the launch of Zimbabwe’s Multi Sectoral Drug and Substance Abuse Plan, has further fueled speculation about Tshabangu’s political stance.
“I’m representing the opposition together with advocate Phulu, we all say no to drug and substance abuse,” Tshabangu wrote in a statement accompanying the photograph, attempting to clarify his participation.
However, this explanation has done little to quell the anger and confusion among Zimbabweans who perceive Tshabangu’s actions as compromising the principles of the opposition movement.
In response to the public outcry, various voices within the political sphere have weighed in, highlighting the delicate balance opposition figures must navigate in Zimbabwe’s charged political climate.
Analysts suggest that while engagement with governmental initiatives may be necessary for addressing critical issues such as drug abuse, the optics of such engagements can significantly impact public trust and political credibility.
“This incident raises important questions about the role of opposition leaders in Zimbabwe today,” remarked one political analyst.
“While advocating for social issues like drug abuse is crucial, leaders must tread carefully to avoid undermining their own positions within the opposition.”
The photograph has also spurred renewed debate on the state of democracy and political pluralism in Zimbabwe.
Many citizens fear that moments like these may signal a broader trend of co-option or compromise within opposition ranks, potentially weakening the efficacy of their resistance against the ruling party.
In light of the controversy, Tshabangu’s office has refrained from further comment, emphasizing instead a focus on the CCC’s ongoing efforts to challenge Mnangagwa’s government on various policy fronts.
However, the fallout from this incident underscores the challenges facing opposition figures in Zimbabwe, where navigating between engagement and opposition remains fraught with political risks.
As Zimbabweans continue to grapple with economic hardship and political uncertainty, the incident involving Tshabangu serves as a stark reminder of the complexities inherent in the country’s evolving political landscape.
Whether this controversy will have lasting repercussions on Tshabangu’s political career or the broader opposition movement remains to be seen, but its impact on public perceptions is undeniable.

Zimbabwe will participate in the COSAFA Cup for the first time since 2021 and interim head coach Jairos Tapera expects his charges to do well despite shambolic preparations for the regional tournament.
The regional showpiece kicked off in South Africa today, and the Warriors’ preparations have been marred by confusion, as ZIFA announced three different squad lists, which were all disowned by Tapera.
Tapera told journalists after Manica Diamonds’ goalless draw with Dynamos at Sakubva last Sunday, that the squad lists announced officially by ZIFA, were incorrect.
To add to the drama, ZIFA did not even announce that Simba Chinani was drafted into the Warriors fold, as pictures of the Simba Bhora goalkeeper in national colours just circulated on social media before the departure to South Africa yesterday.
Despite the chaos, Tapera expects his troops to fare well in the 27th edition of the regional showpiece.
“We had disappointing results in the World Cup qualifiers but we have regrouped. Yesterday, we discussed these disappointments with the players, making them aware that what we are here (in South Africa) for is getting as many wins as possible,” said Tapera.
“We are expecting a lot of positive results from these boys. They are looking sharp and looking at doing better for the country. We are excepting them to deliver and make us proud again.
Tapera revealed that the target for the Warriors is at least a place in the semi-finals.
“We need to qualify for the semi-finals, that’s one target we have,” he said.
The Warriors resumed preparations for their tournament opener against Comoros at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, with afternoon training session under the watchful eye of Tapera.

By Political Reporter- Ghosts are haunting the Borrowdale residence of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son, David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa, who is also the deputy finance minister.
For the second time in one month, David Mnangagwa’s house has been ‘raided’ by invisible intruders, who reportedly left empty gun cartridges at the door of his bedroom.
How is it possible to twice enter a house guarded by armed officers and then vanish into thin air?” -Online

By Farai D Hove | Harare, Zimbabwe – June 27, 2024 | Convicted money launderer, Wicknell Chivayo has posted a video and pictures on social media threatening judges, police, prosecutors, and individuals accusing him of money laundering. The threats, made on the same day that Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe were arrested and taken to court for fraud, have sent ripples through Zimbabwe’s legal and political landscape.
Chivayo’s video includes footage of him flaunting his wealth, displaying an expensive wristwatch, shoes, and luxurious furniture. In the video, Chivayo sings a melodic statement with the following lyrics:
“The poor try to poke and poke; The boys slept the lion with bare hands.
What you do to me I don’t like it. You are arranging to assault me you are so afraid of me.
Don’t you know that only the wise will survive?
You are doing witchcraft in the night and in the afternoon.”
The mention of the “lion” is a direct reference to President Mnangagwa, whose ancestral surname translates to “lion.” Chivayo’s threats have raised serious concerns about the intimidation of judicial and law enforcement officials in Zimbabwe.
**Harare Businessmen Face Court Over Fraud Charges**
On the same day of Chivayo’s threats, Harare businessmen Moses Mpofu (49) and Mike Chimombe (43) appeared before the Harare Magistrates Court facing serious fraud charges. The two are accused of forging critical compliance certificates to secure a lucrative government tender.
The National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe reports that Mpofu and Chimombe allegedly forged a ZIMRA tax clearance certificate and a NSSA compliance certificate under the name of Blackdeck Private Limited. These forged documents were submitted as part of a tender bid to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries, and Rural Development for the supply and delivery of goats for the Presidential Goat Pass-on Scheme.
Investigations revealed that the QR codes and references on the certificates were linked to different companies, indicating that the certificates were not genuine. It was further established that Blackdeck Private Limited had been deregistered from the NSSA system in January 2016 and did not possess a valid ZIMRA tax clearance certificate for 2021.
On the basis of these forged documents, the Ministry of Lands contracted Blackdeck Private Limited on November 3, 2021. The Ministry transferred significant funds amounting to ZWL 1.6 billion, approximately USD 7.2 million, into the company’s account. Following delays in goat delivery, further investigations found that the businessmen misrepresented the number of goats available, claiming to have mobilized 32,500 goats across various provinces. However, verification revealed only 3,713 goats in their holding sites.
The Ministry consequently canceled the contract on August 29, 2022. It was discovered that the accused had supplied a total of 4,208 goats valued at USD 331,445 and had converted USD 7,380,751 to their personal use. None of the funds were recovered.
Mpofu and Chimombe have been remanded in custody and are scheduled for a bail hearing tomorrow.
**Conclusion**
Wicknell Chivayo’s threats have added a new dimension to the legal proceedings against Harare businessmen Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe. The National Prosecuting Authority emphasizes its commitment to combating crime and corruption through stringent legal actions, despite the intimidating tactics employed by figures like Chivayo. The situation underscores the challenges faced by Zimbabwe’s judicial and law enforcement systems in maintaining the rule of law.
HARARE – Police have been left baffled after two security breaches on two separate days at the Borrowdale home of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s son and deputy finance minister, David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa.
In the latest incident, on June 25, an intruder whom police are dubbing the “ghost raider” left six cartridges – three outside Mnangagwa’s main bedroom door and three on the lawn outside the double storey property on Camel Road which is guarded by two police officers, sources told ZimLive.
The first breach took place on June 23 at around 10PM when Mnangagwa, who was watching TV with his wife, called the police officers after hearing unusual noises coming from the ceiling.
The officers surveyed the house and the perimeter but saw nothing suspicious.

There, officers found a bag loaded with some of the deputy minister’s possessions including torn documents and two Apple MacBook laptops and a MacBook iPad which appeared to have been deliberately damaged.
The deputy minister, according to sources, said all the items had been taken from his bedroom. He also informed officers that his gun, a 9mm Beretta pistol with 15 live cartridges was missing, together with US$500 cash which was in the bag.
In the kitchen, the intruder had retrieved a loaf of bread from the kitchen unit and dumped it on the floor near the door.
In one final bizarre act, the intruder went to the garage and cut the driver’s head rest of Mnangagwa’s parked Land Rover Defender.
Police swarmed the property on June 24, including a canine unit, but there was no trace of the suspect, and no evidence of any forced entry, ZimLive understands.
And then, just after 7.30AM on June 26, the deputy minister’s eight-year-old son went to his parents’ bedroom and as he was about to knock on the door he saw a live cartridge lying on the floor and police were called.
Investigators managed to locate three cartridges within two meters of the door, and a further three on the lawn outside the property.
“Police are certain that the live cartridges inside the house were definitely not there when they attended the first incident,” a source said.
“The two incidents have left police thinking they are chasing a ghost raider, because how is it possible to twice enter a house guarded by armed officers and then vanish into thin air?”
Police spokesman Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi initially said he was busy, and later did not take our calls. Zimlive
FORUS Party hereby issues a press statement to disassociate ourselves from the recent opinions expressed by Mr. Thandazani Moyo in a media appearance on Gambakwe Media.
First and foremost, we would like to clarify that Mr. Thandazani Moyo is no longer a member of FORUS Party. He resigned from his position as Spokesperson and revoked his membership in July 2023.
Therefore, his views and opinions do not represent those of FORUS Party. We categorically refute, deny, and dismiss with contempt the notion that FORUS Party is involved in any alleged demonstration against a sitting government.
Such claims are baseless and unfounded. FORUS Party upholds the principles of peaceful and democratic means to address issues and advocate for electoral reforms.
It has come to our attention that our President, Manyara Irene Muyenziwa, who is also the Convener of NERA, had a private conversation with the SADC Secretariat.
Unfortunately, this conversation was unprofessionally made public by Gambakwe Media, with the assistance of Mr. Thandazani Moyo. We deeply regret this breach of trust and violation of privacy by Mr. Gambakwe.
FORUS Party maintains a cordial relationship with the Southern African Development Community (SADC). We have engaged diplomatically with SADC on issues related to electoral reforms and irregularities.
It is important to note that SADC does not have a legal basis to order and supervise fresh elections in Zimbabwe. Our engagement with SADC is focused on constructive dialogue and collaboration to promote democratic electoral standards in Southern Africa.
We would like to emphasize our appreciation for SADC’s efforts in upholding democratic governance standards, promoting peace and security, accelerating regional integration, and supporting infrastructure development.
FORUS Party acknowledges the role of independent observer missions, including the SADC Electoral Observer Mission (SEOM), in monitoring and assessing Zimbabwe’s general elections. We recognize the constraints faced by SADC in enforcing its recommendations and interventions.
SADC relies on diplomatic strategies, moral persuasion, and soft power approaches to address electoral conflicts. FORUS Party understands and respects these institutional structures and their limitations.
FORUS Party remains committed to democratic values, electoral integrity, and the pursuit of good governance in Zimbabwe. We will continue to engage with relevant stakeholders, including SADC, to foster democratic norms and principles within the region.

THE government has moved in to introduce a new nurse recruitment policy in a bid to ensure that prospective candidates in marginalised communities also benefit.
The new policy is meant to ensure that those from marginalised communities with adequate qualifications but unable to apply electronically for nurse training are not left behind.
Consultations have been held towards the crafting of the new draft policy which will come into effect in September, five years after the electronic application system was introduced.
“The new policy speaks to the aspirations of the President of leaving no place and no one behind,” said the Deputy Director for Nursing Services in the Ministry of Health and Child Care, Dr Lilian Dodzo.
The Deputy Minister of Health and Child Care, Honourable Sleiman Kwidini said the policy should curb corruption in the trainee nurses recruitment process.
“It was noted that some candidates especially from rural settings were disadvantaged. Against this backdrop, some recruitment guidelines have been developed to address this challenge.”
The new policy will ensure capable and qualified candidates from rural and farming communities will be given a fair chance for recruitment as nurses. https://www.zbcnews.co.zw/featured/new-nurses-recruitment-policy-on-the-cards/
In a surprising turn of events, South African actress Phindile Gwala has been elected as a Member of Parliament for the MK Party. Breaking barriers and bringing a fresh perspective to the political landscape, this unexpected move has sparked conversations across the nation.
Phindile Gwala, known for her captivating performances on screen, has now taken on a new role in the realm of politics. With her charm and charisma on the screen, she has resonated with audiences in various productions, and now aims to channel that connection into her political endeavors.
The announcement of her election has drawn mixed reactions from the public. While some applaud her courage and determination to step into the political arena, others question the background and experience she brings to governance and policymaking. Nevertheless, Gwala’s transition from the entertainment industry to politics highlights the evolving nature of leadership and representation in South Africa.
The MK Party, known for its progressive stance on social issues and commitment to advocating for marginalized communities, sees Gwala’s appointment as a strategic move to diversify its leadership and appeal to a broader demographic. By bringing in a well-known figure from the entertainment industry, the party aims to bridge the gap between politics and popular culture, engaging a wider audience in the democratic process.
As she embarks on this new chapter in her career, Phindile Gwala faces the daunting task of balancing her responsibilities as a parliamentarian with her existing commitments in the entertainment industry. Her journey from the silver screen to the political stage is not without challenges, but her supporters believe in her ability to adapt and make a meaningful impact in her new role.
The intersection of entertainment and politics is not new, with several celebrities around the world using their platforms to advocate for change and amplify important social causes. Phindile Gwala’s entry into politics adds a unique dimension to this intersection, showcasing the potential for individuals from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the development and governance of their country.
As South Africa navigates complex political and social issues, the appointment of Phindile Gwala as a Member of Parliament symbolizes a shift towards greater inclusivity and representation in the country’s political landscape.
While the road ahead may be challenging, her presence in Parliament serves as a reminder of the power of individuals to effect change and inspire others to participate in shaping the future of their nation.
England stuttered to a disappointing 0-0 draw with Slovenia in Cologne but it was still enough to win Group C at Euro 2024.
Bukayo Saka had a goal disallowed for an offside against Phil Foden but, in terms of attempts that would count, England did not register a shot until the 30th minute. Harry Kane came closest to scoring but could not connect cleanly with Kieran Trippier’s cross.
Gareth Southgate made only one change to the side that struggled for fluency in the draw against Denmark, introducing Conor Gallagher for Trent Alexander-Arnold in midfield as anticipated, but the Chelsea man was unable to make any positive impact.
He was replaced by Kobbie Mainoo for the second half and the youngster sparked an improved performance but England’s pressure could not be converted into chances let alone goals.
There was a lack of movement and a lot of loose touches.
In a remote corner of Mwenezi, Zimbabwe, a striking sentiment has emerged about Auxillia Mnangagwa, the First Lady of the country.
Following her recent visit where she generously donated various supplies to the community, one local woman went as far as proclaiming Mrs. Mnangagwa to be an “angel in human form.” Such accolades, however, are not uniformly shared.
Mrs. Mnangagwa’s visit to Mwenezi included a heartfelt display of empathy, notably kneeling in humility during interactions in Mwenezi.
This act left a deep impression on many locals, with one woman confessing that the mere thought of Mrs. Mnangagwa’s gesture brought tears to her eyes.
It’s clear that for some, the First Lady’s actions transcended the ordinary realm of public figures, resonating on a profoundly emotional level.
Conversely, contrasting voices have surfaced, suggesting that Mrs. Mnangagwa’s public persona may not fully encapsulate her true nature.
Critics, referencing her reputation, have described her as an “iron lady,” a portrayal starkly at odds with the angelic image projected during her charitable engagements.
This dichotomy underscores a broader debate about the public perception versus the private reality of political figures, especially those in positions of significant influence.
The notion of political figures being perceived as either benevolent angels or unyielding iron figures is not novel. It reflects the complex nature of public personas shaped by both personal actions and media portrayals.
Mrs. Mnangagwa, like many public figures, faces the challenge of balancing her public image with the realities of governance and societal expectations.
For the Mwenezi community, however, the immediate impact of Mrs. Mnangagwa’s visit cannot be overstated. Her donations, coupled with gestures of humility, have left an indelible mark on those who received her aid.
Whether viewed as an angelic presence or a resolute leader, her actions have sparked discussions about compassion, leadership, and the role of public figures in uplifting communities.
While opinions may vary on the characterization of Auxillia Mnangagwa, what remains undeniable is the tangible impact of her recent visit to Mwenezi.
Beyond debates over personas, her efforts have brought much-needed attention and support to a community in need, reaffirming the power of empathy and action in the realm of public service.

In a move fraught with intrigue and political grandstanding , Senator Sengezo Tshabangu, the interim Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has made a tentative bid to mend fences with Advocate Fadzayi Mahere, a prominent figure within Zimbabwean politics.
Tshabangu’s statement, issued on Tuesday, appeared to be a cautious attempt to extend an olive branch to Mahere while simultaneously addressing his concerns.
“I’ve totally nothing against my young sister @advocatemahere, but, the only issue is, she lacks maturity but surely the lady is so promising and resolute, also, she must be warned against following the blind, above all, she needs to have a national mindset which is people-oriented,” Tshabangu stated, carefully choosing his words to convey both criticism and a hint of reconciliation.
His remarks, though pointed, reflect a nuanced approach to the delicate balance of intra-party dynamics and external perceptions. Tshabangu’s acknowledgment of Mahere’s promise and resolution suggests a recognition of her influence and potential within Zimbabwean politics.
However, his critique of her perceived lack of maturity and caution against being swayed by others hints at underlying tensions or ideological differences within the CCC ranks.
The statement comes amidst a backdrop of shifting alliances and strategic posturing within Zimbabwean opposition circles, where personalities and policies often intersect with high stakes.
Tshabangu’s role as interim Secretary General places him at the forefront of these dynamics, tasked with navigating internal cohesion while projecting a unified front against the ruling party.
Advocate Fadzayi Mahere, known for her outspoken advocacy and legal acumen, has been a vocal figure within opposition circles, championing causes related to justice, governance, and human rights.
Her response to Tshabangu’s overture could shape the trajectory of their relationship and potentially influence broader political alignments within the CCC.
As reactions to Tshabangu’s statement unfold, political analysts and observers will scrutinize its implications for internal party dynamics and the broader opposition landscape in Zimbabwe.
The delicate dance of diplomacy and critique embodied in Tshabangu’s words underscores the complexities of coalition-building and ideological coherence within opposition movements.
For now, the statement stands as a testament to the intricacies of Zimbabwean politics—a realm where alliances are forged, rivalries simmer, and the promise of change remains ever-present.
As Senator Tshabangu seeks to navigate these waters, his words to Advocate Mahere may prove to be a pivotal moment in the ongoing narrative of opposition politics in Zimbabwe.

By Crime and Courts Reporter- Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu forged tax clearance papers and used them to grab a government tender under the Presidential Goat Pass-on Scheme, the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has revealed.
This came out after their court appearance on Wednesday, June 26, where the two are facing fraud charges.
In a statement, the NPA said the accused persons forged a ZIMRA Tax clearance certificate and an NSSA compliance certificate in the name of Blackdeck Private Limited and attached them in a bidding document which they submitted to the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Fisheries and Rural Development for a tender for the supply and delivery of goats for the Presidential Goat Pass-on Scheme.
Chimombe and Mpofu allegedly misrepresented that the company was in full compliance with ZIMRA and NSSA requirements.
However, investigations indicated that the QR code and the reference on the NSSA compliance certificate were issued to a different company.
It is further alleged that Blackdeck Private Limited was deregistered from the NSSA system in January 2016.
The NPA said further investigations established that Blackdeck Private Limited was not issued with a ZIMRA tax clearance certificate for the year 2021 and that the QR code on the forged tax clearance certificate belonged to a different company. Said the NPA:
Acting on the misrepresentation, the Ministry of Lands contracted Blackdeck Private Limited on the 3rd of November2021.
The Ministry transferred ZWL901 294 200 and ZWL698 705 800 on the 21st of April 2022 and the 29th of June 2022respectively into their bank account.
The total amount was ZWL1.6 billion and was equivalent to USD7 712 197. Following delays in the delivery of the goats, the Ministry of Lands officials made several engagements with the accused persons.
The accused persons misrepresented that they had mobilized 32 500 goats across the provinces which were ready to be distributed to the beneficiaries.
However, a verification process revealed that the accused persons only had 3,713 goats in their holding sites.
The Ministry cancelled the contract on the 29th of August 2022, following the discovery.
Chimombe and Mpofu reportedly only supplied a total of 4 208 goats valued at US$331 445 and went on to convert US$7 380 751 to their personal use. Nothing was recovered.
The accused persons were remanded in custody by Harare Regional Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa to Thursday, June 27, for bail hearing.
By Business Reporter- The government through the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has pimped ZiG by giving it an international currency code, ZWG,
ZiG was introduced in April as the country’s new currency.
RBZ said the codes ZWL and ZWG will run concurrently from June 25, 2024, to August 31 2024 when the ZWL code is set to expire.
This was revealed in a letter addressed to the Bankers Association of Zimbabwe (BAZ) chief executive officer, Fanwell Mutogo, by the RBZ Deputy Director, Financial Markets – National Payment Systems and FinTech Department, Josephat Mutepfa.
The letter, dated 25 June 2024, reads in part:
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe advises that World Bank ISO 4217 Committee has approved our request to change the Zimbabwe Currency Code from ZWL to ZWG (Zimbabwe Gold) effective 25 June 2024. It should also be noted that the minor units of the Zimbabwe Gold shall be denominated as ‘cents’.
The Codes ZWL and ZWG will run concurrently from the 25th of June to the 31st August 2024 to allow necessary system configurations by players. In this regard, the ZWL currency code will cease to be recognized from the 1st of September2024.
The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe encourages all banking sector players to therefore make necessary arrangements to facilitate a smooth transition to the new Currency Code- ZWG.
By Political Reporter- Former Deputy Minister of Information Bright Matonga was Tuesday arrested for allegedly stealing agricultural inputs valued at US$424,888.
Upon his arrest, Matonga was detained at Seruwe Police Station in Chegutu.
In a statement, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) confirmed Matonga’s arrest, stating that it was in connection with two reports of theft made by farmers leasing his farm.
The brief statement reads: “The ZRP confirms that Bright Matonga has been arrested by police in Chegutu in connection with two reports of theft made by farmers who were leasing his farm. A warrant of arrest was duly issued by the courts.”
The police indicated that further details about the arrest would be released in due course.
Matonga served as Deputy Information Minister in the cabinet of President Robert Mugabe.
Matonga was, in 2016, reportedly blamed for the decline of Chigwell Estate in Chegutu, a farm that, before his takeover, supported the livelihoods of approximately 500 people and contributed $4 million to Zimbabwe’s annual export revenue.
In July 2020, Matonga was listed in the BSR (Business Strategic Report) of 18 July 2020 as a beneficiary of the 2007 Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Farm Mechanisation Scheme, part of the Fast Track Land Reform Programme. According to the list, he received goods worth US$359,420 under the thematic group “Politicians.”
By Crime and Courts Reporter- Harare Regional Magistrate Marehwanazvo Gofa has thrown Businessmen Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe in remanded prison in a case in which the two abused $88 million “Presidential Goat Pass-on Scheme”.
The two appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court after their arrest on Wednesday morning for fraud charges.
This means Mpofu and Chimombe will spend the night in custody before returning to court tomorrow.
The State, led by Anesu Chirenje, successfully applied for their bail hearing to be set for Thursday, saying he wanted to ascertain whether they had attended court on their own or were brought in by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).
The State said it wanted to review documentary evidence before filing an application opposing Mpofu and Chimombe’s bail request.
Chirenje also told the court that the State intends to lead evidence from two investigating officers from ZACC.
Mpofu and Chimombe, through their lawyers Tapson Dzvetero and Arshiel Mugiya, opposed the postponement of the bail ruling, saying bail issues should not arise as they were coming from home.
The defence counsel also argued that in terms of the law they were supposed to be released on free bail.
CHIMOMBE CHINA PLANE 'CRASH LANDING': The last time, someone travelled to China as State House secrets kept spilling out, before they got nearly arrested upon return, power soon quickly shifted. What do you think is about to happen to country?
CHIMOMBE CHINA PLANE ‘CRASH LANDING’: A Prelude to Political Upheaval?
In the annals of Zimbabwean politics, significant shifts often follow mysterious and dramatic events. The recent arrival of Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu, notable for their involvement in a USD 40 million ballot printing tender, under the protective watch of Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organization (CIO), has sent ripples across the political landscape. Their startling claims of election rigging and threats to expose intricate details of ballot manipulation evoke a sense of déjà vu, drawing uncanny parallels to a tumultuous period in the nation’s history.
Historical Echoes of November 2017
Rewind to November 2017, when Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s sudden return from China was marked by a near-arrest and escalating tensions at State House. This incident foreshadowed a swift and decisive power shift, culminating in the dramatic ouster of then-President Robert Mugabe. The recent return of Chimombe and Mpofu under shadowy circumstances eerily mirrors those events, prompting the question: Is Zimbabwe on the brink of another seismic political shift?
A Nation on Edge
Chimombe and Mpofu’s insider knowledge and their willingness to expose the mechanisms of election rigging place them in a position of significant leverage. Their claims resonate with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) observer mission’s findings, which highlighted compromised electoral integrity due to ballot shortages. The potential fallout from these revelations could be immense, challenging the legitimacy of President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration.
Political Dynamics at Play
Several key factors contribute to the current state of unease:
CIO Involvement: The protection offered to Chimombe and Mpofu by CIO Deputy Director General Walter Tapfumaneyi signals high-level awareness and potential complicity in their allegations. This involvement suggests that the information they possess could be explosive enough to threaten the very foundation of Mnangagwa’s rule.
Factional Struggles: The protection provided by Kuda Tagwirei and the involvement of Mnangagwa’s children in lucrative tenders, including the contentious Starlink deal, indicate deep-rooted factionalism within the ruling party. The power struggles that ensue from these divisions could escalate into a broader conflict, reminiscent of the infighting that led to Mugabe’s downfall.
Public Sentiment: The Zimbabwean populace, already disillusioned by economic hardships and political instability, may find Chimombe and Mpofu’s revelations to be the final straw. Public unrest and demands for accountability could drive a groundswell of support for political change.
What Lies Ahead?
The parallels to 2017 raise a critical question: Is Mnangagwa’s presidency on the verge of collapse? The potential for another dramatic power shift cannot be dismissed. If Chimombe and Mpofu’s allegations gain traction, they could catalyze a chain of events leading to Mnangagwa’s removal.
However, the outcome is far from certain. Mnangagwa, a seasoned political operator, may maneuver to suppress these threats and consolidate his power. Alternatively, the revelations could empower his opponents, leading to a leadership crisis that mirrors the upheaval of Mugabe’s final days.
As Zimbabwe stands at this crossroads, the nation’s political future hangs in the balance. The unfolding drama surrounding Chimombe and Mpofu’s return could be the precursor to another historic transformation, one that will shape the country’s trajectory for years to come. The coming weeks will be crucial in determining whether Mnangagwa can weather this storm or if Zimbabwe is on the cusp of yet another dramatic shift in power.

In a crucial Euro 24 showdown, Austria clinched a spot in the knockout stage with a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Netherlands, highlighted by Marcel Sabitzer’s late heroics.

By A Correspondent | Analysis | In a stunning turn of events, Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu, notable partners of Scott Sakupwanya’s USD 40 million ballot printing tender for the 2023 elections, have found themselves at the center of an explosive controversy. Arriving at Robert Mugabe International Airport on an Emirates flight, the duo was swiftly escorted through the VIP section by officers from Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organization (CIO), led by Walter Tapfumaneyi, the Deputy Director General and head of the ruling FAZ.
Close sources revealed that Chimombe and Mpofu have informed the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) of their inside knowledge on how the 2023 election was allegedly rigged. The two claim to have supplied crucial materials for the election process, working in tandem with controversial Mnangagwa associate Wicknell Chivayo. They have warned that if they face arrest, they will disclose detailed information on the rigging methods employed, specifically focusing on ballot printing techniques.
This revelation aligns with observations from the Southern African Development Community (SADC) mission, which highlighted that the low supply of ballots compromised the election’s integrity. The accusations from Chimombe and Mpofu add weight to these concerns, suggesting a deliberate manipulation of ballot availability to influence the election outcome.
Further complicating matters, the pair is reportedly being protected by Kuda Tagwirei, a powerful figure within Zimbabwe’s political landscape. This protection is part of broader disputes over lucrative government tenders, including a significant deal with Starlink that involved President Mnangagwa’s children.
The CIO was still to comment over the allegations, at the time of writing.
As the scandal unfolds, the credibility of Zimbabwe’s 2023 elections hangs in the balance, with potential far-reaching implications for the country’s political future. The coming days are expected to reveal more about the extent of the alleged electoral malpractice and the key players involved.
