After Saying He’s Better Than Chamisa, Hopewell Moves To Lure Youths With Car Selfie Saying Unlike Nelson, I’m Fighting To Get You Nice Things, But Here Are the Fraud V11s

By Business Reporter | Just after announcing he is better than Nelson Chamisa who is now useless, activist Hopewell Chin’ono has moved to appease Zimbabwean youths with the same claim that has been discredited by a respected doctor whose name he once posted, by publishing the picture of a car saying he wants youths to access nice of things of life, and that he wants them to achieve their Generation Z moment.

Chin’ono seems to have forgotten that he is the very person who has robbed Zimbabwe’s youths of their Generation Z chance by advising the army to descend on the civil society and dismantle Nelson Chamisa’s party (see tweets).

Hopewell Chin’ono advice to army to descend on Chamisa

Chin’ono is also on record saying Chamisa is too poor to lead any political party, and he (Chin’ono) has also said that people who do not have houses should not ask him questions because they have not achieved anything in life like him.

Chin’ono’s claim to owning a car in 1994, also contrasts his new allegation of obtaining £50,000 sports car credit facility from a non existent British dealership in 1996, when he has claimed that he was advised by Dr Tendai Maboreke to sell the vehicle and buy a house from the disposal. Dr Maboreke has expressed outrage at the way he has used his name to validate his sportscar acquisition and the family has told ZimEye they have tried to caution him from abusing their name. Army Boss Stages Coup

Political Reporter-The head of the Zimbabwe National Army Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe has vowed to crush opposition forces in Zimbabwe and force citizens to support the ruling Zanu PF party.

Sanyatwe told a Zanu PF campaign rally in Nyanga North, where his wife Chido is the Member of Parliament, that soldiers would coerce citizens into supporting Zanu PF.

During the rally, Sanyatwe boldly announced the implementation of a “command voting” system.

Under this directive, voters will be instructed on who to vote for, and non-compliance will result in manipulated election results. Using a vivid analogy, he declared, “Zanu PF will continue ruling until donkeys grow horns,” emphasizing his authority as the army commander.

He concluded his remarks by leading pro-Zanu PF chants and condemning the opposition, whom he referred to as “enemies.”

This rhetoric harkens back to his controversial role as commander of the Presidential Guard during the August 2018 post-election demonstrations, where six protesters and bystanders were fatally shot.

Despite his claims during the Motlanthe Commission of Inquiry that his soldiers did not shoot the crowds, the incident remains a dark stain on his military career.

Following these events, Sanyatwe received multiple promotions from President Emmerson Mnangagwa and was appointed Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Tanzania.

Returning to the military on October 20, 2023, he was promoted to the position of Zimbabwe National Army commander.

While the Zimbabwean constitution prohibits serving soldiers from political affiliations, the military has a notorious history of political interference, especially during elections.

This was evident in 2002 when General Vitalis Zvinavashe declared the army’s allegiance only to political leaders who upheld Zimbabwean values, signaling a long-standing tradition of military involvement in politics.

Lieutenant General Sanyatwe’s recent statements and actions further solidify this trend, raising concerns about the integrity of the upcoming elections and the future of Zimbabwe’s democratic processes.

ARMY VIDEO: Hopewell Calls On All Zimbabweans To Stop Trusting Chamisa, Opposition

By Investigations Reporter | At a time when there has been a lot of Chamisa inspired state-level transformation, including total regime change in Emmerson Mnangagwa’s home country in the last three years, controversial activist Hopewell Chin’ono has called on people to drop their faith in the opposition he says has failed to speak out against military threats. Ironically, this is the same opposition group that Chin’ono has advised the military to descend on regularly since 2018, as he tells the Ministry of Defence this must be done in order to reduce or “avoid tension.”

Army Boss Declares War On Chamisa, Orders “Command Voting” To Ensure Mnangagwa Rule

By Political Reporter-The Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) commander, Lieutenant General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe, has aggressively vowed to quash opposition forces and ensure the perpetual rule of the Zanu PF party.

Dozens Confirm Willing To Nail Mike ‘Mbudzi’ Chimombe

By Crime and Courts Reporter- The state has revealed that at least 13 witnesses have confirmed their availability to testify in the case of Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu’s US$7 million goat fraud.

These witnesses include officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and government officials.

Mpofu and Chimombe are accused of forging documents to win the tender for the supply of goats under the Presidential Goat Scheme.

They are being represented by Arshiel Mugiya and Tapson Dzvetero.

The investigating officer, Henry Chapwanya, recorded statements from six witnesses, with plans to obtain at least eight more.

Chapwanya argued that due to this ongoing process, bail should be denied to the accused individuals to prevent potential interference with witnesses. He said:

The accused persons know most of the witnesses because they interacted with them during negotiations for the tender at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje presented documentary evidence, a circulated memo on social media by the accused persons, indicating that the Government allocated approximately US$4 million for the project.

This contradicts the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s release, which stated the amount as US$7 million.

The proceedings were scheduled to resume today, July 3, with the defence lawyers expected to cross-examine Chapwanya.

It is important to note that Chimombe and Mpofu were only charged after they clashed with Wicknell Chivayo, regarding the distribution of funds from a controversial US$40 million deal to supply election materials to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) ahead of the 2023 general elections.

On February 13, 2023, Mpofu and Chimombe allegedly entered into an agreement with South Africa-based Ren-Form CC to participate in ZEC tenders alongside Chivayo but were subsequently sidelined.

They are currently seeking US$10 million from Chivayo for lost earnings.

Furthermore, Chimombe and Mpofu are accused of leaking audio recordings in which Chivayo purportedly asserted that Mnangagwa and other high-ranking government officials were under his influence.

“I’m determined to give my all and proudly represent the colors of this historic club. See you soon on the pitch.”

Tapera Praises Warriors

Warriors coach Jairos Tapera says he is proud of his charges despite failing to reach the knockout stage of the 2024 COSAFA Cup.

Zimbabwe was eliminated from the tournament after losing 2-0 to Kenya in the final Group B game played on Tuesday.

The national team had a strong start to the campaign which saw them topping the group with six points ahead of the tie.

They won 1-0 and 2-0 against Comoros and Zambia, respectively.

Speaking after Tuesday’s match, Tapera said:

“I can’t say I am proud of the six points that we got because there was a chance for us to qualify for the knockout stage.

“But I am proud of the performance of the boys. Most of these guys, it was their first time to play in an international competition and they showed a lot of skill and organisation, which I feel if given an opportunity, they can graduate to the next level.

“Apart from the result, I’m proud of the boys. They showed a lot of courage and going forward I am sure we will have a stable national team.”

Does Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Have the Energy to Run Beyond 2028?

By Seke Kunaka Kunaka

As political landscapes evolve and leaders age, the question of longevity and capability inevitably arises.

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe’s current president, is no exception to this scrutiny.

At 81 years old, the comparisons to other global leaders, such as Joe Biden of the United States, naturally come into play.

But should age alone determine a leader’s future effectiveness?

Joe Biden, now 81, has faced criticism and speculation about his health and cognitive abilities since taking office.

Some argue that his occasional lapses in speech or moments of forgetfulness are signs of decline, calling into question his ability to serve beyond his current term.

Similarly, concerns about Mnangagwa’s stamina and health are surfacing, particularly in the context of whether he can continue leading Zimbabwe effectively past 2028.

The reality of aging is universal. It brings with it physical and cognitive changes that can affect performance, stamina, and decision-making. However, attributing these changes solely to age can be overly simplistic.

Many leaders, despite their seniority, continue to lead effectively well into their later years, bringing experience and wisdom that can be invaluable to their nations.

In Mnangagwa’s case, the discussion around his ability to lead beyond 2028 hinges not just on age but on his health, policies, and the evolving political landscape in Zimbabwe.

Supporters argue that his experience in politics, dating back decades, positions him uniquely to navigate the country through its challenges. Critics, however, point to concerns over governance, economic stability, and human rights, questioning whether a leadership change might bring needed reforms and fresh perspectives.

The dynamics of leadership transcend age, encompassing qualities such as vision, adaptability, and resilience.

While age can be a factor in assessing these qualities, it is not determinative. Leaders like Mnangagwa must continually prove their ability to lead effectively, adapt to changing circumstances, and address the needs of their constituents.

Looking ahead to 2028 and beyond, Zimbabweans and the international community will undoubtedly scrutinize Mnangagwa’s health and leadership closely.

The question remains whether he possesses the energy and vision to continue steering Zimbabwe through its challenges or whether a new generation of leaders will emerge to chart a different course.

In conclusion, while age raises valid questions about longevity in leadership, the answer lies in a nuanced assessment of health, policies, and the leader’s capacity to meet the demands of their position.

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s tenure beyond 2028 will ultimately be determined by how he navigates these complexities and addresses the aspirations of Zimbabweans for a prosperous and stable future.

As with all leaders, the judgment of history will reflect not just on their years in office but on the impact of their decisions and the legacy they leave behind.

Army Commander Openly Chants Zanu PF Slogan : Watch

By A Correspondent

In a startling turn of events, a video circulating on social media has captured Zimbabwe National Army commander Lieutenant-General Anselem Sanyatwe openly declaring allegiance to the ruling party, ZANU PF.

The footage, which has sparked widespread debate and concern both locally and internationally, shows Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe passionately chanting ZANU PF slogans, indicating a significant departure from the traditionally expected neutrality of the military.

The video, which surfaced recently, features Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe proclaiming, “ZANU PF ichatonga kusvika madhongi amera nyanga. Muchida musingade,” loosely translated as “ZANU PF will rule until donkeys grow horns. Whether you like it or not.”

Such a public display of political allegiance from a high-ranking military official has raised serious questions about the role of the armed forces in Zimbabwean politics and governance.

The Zimbabwe National Army, like any military institution in a democratic society, is expected to remain apolitical, serving the nation impartially regardless of political affiliation.

This principle ensures stability, upholds civilian authority, and safeguards against military interference in democratic processes.

Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s actions, however, appear to undermine these fundamental principles, potentially eroding public trust in the military’s impartiality and integrity.

ZANU PF, the ruling party in Zimbabwe since independence in 1980, has maintained a close relationship with the military throughout its tenure.

This relationship has historically been a subject of scrutiny, with allegations of military involvement in political activities and electoral processes.

Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s public endorsement of ZANU PF raises concerns about the extent of political influence within the armed forces and the implications for Zimbabwe’s democratic institutions.

International observers and human rights organizations have expressed apprehension over the video, highlighting the importance of military neutrality in safeguarding democratic norms and principles.

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union (AU), regional bodies committed to promoting good governance and democratic practices, are likely to closely monitor developments in Zimbabwe amid growing concerns over political stability and military interference.

In response to the video, there has been varied reaction within Zimbabwe.

Civil society groups, opposition parties, and some segments of the population have condemned Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s actions, viewing them as a threat to democracy and calling for accountability and transparency within the armed forces.

Conversely, supporters of ZANU PF have defended the commander, citing his right to freedom of expression and political affiliation.

The Zimbabwean government, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has yet to issue an official statement addressing the controversy.

The response of the government and its handling of the situation will likely influence domestic and international perceptions of Zimbabwe’s commitment to democratic governance and the rule of law.

As the situation unfolds, the spotlight remains firmly on Zimbabwe’s military and its adherence to constitutional principles of neutrality and non-partisanship.

The implications of Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s public endorsement of ZANU PF underscore broader challenges facing democratic consolidation in Zimbabwe and the imperative of ensuring that state institutions operate independently and transparently.

The incident involving Lieutenant-General Anselem Sanyatwe serves as a stark reminder of the delicate balance between military professionalism and political neutrality in democratic societies.

It highlights the critical need for Zimbabwe to uphold the rule of law, protect democratic institutions, and strengthen mechanisms for accountability to ensure a free, fair, and inclusive political environment for all citizens.

Advocate Fulcrum Takes Army Commander Head-on

By A Correspondent| Former Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa’s lawyer Advocate Thabani Mpofu has written to Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Ancelem Sanyatwe warning him that his recent remarks that they will use command voting to protect Zanu PF’s power were in violation of the Constitution.

In a letter to Sanyatwe, Mpofu demanded that the ZDF Commander unreservedly withdraws his statements within 7 days failure of which he will take steps to ensure that “appropriate remedies under the law are put in motion.”

Sir, it has come to my attention that you have been recorded addressing a gathering of multitudes in the following manner (per my translation):

“…Zanu PF shall rule until donkeys grow horns, whatever your stated and expressed wishes. I am now speaking as the Commander of the Army. We shall use what is called Command Voting… do we understand each other? Forward with Zanu (PF) Forward with (PF)…Forward with ED Mnangagwa. Down with the enemy”

I consider the above statements to be a violation of:

  1. Section 208(2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe in that you as a member of a security service (the Zimbabwe National Army):

a. In so uttering such statements in a public gathering, acted in a partisan manner.

b. Furthered the interests of a political party- Zanu (PF).

Mpofu demanded that Sanyatwe withdraws his statements or face the remedies under the law.

“Sir, I therefore write to demand, as I do now, that you unreservedly withdraw your above statements within seven days of your receipt of this letter, failing which I shall take steps to ensure that appropriate remedies under the law are put in motion,” said Mpofu.

Linda Masarira Take RBZ Governor John Mushayavanhu To Court

By A Correspondent| Opposition political party leader Linda Masarira has asked the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to alleviate the current acute foreign currency shortages and help enhance the public’s access to it.

In application filed at the High Court on Wednesday 19 June 2024 by her lawyer Obey Shava of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, Masarira protested against the pervasive practice of quoting and selling goods and services exclusively in foreign currency particularly the United States of American dollars.

Masarira asked the High Court to declare the practice of levying goods and services exclusively in foreign currency to be a violation of people’s right to the protection and benefit of the law.

Masarira, the leader of Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD) political party, charged that despite the existence of the multi-currency regime, which has been operating since 2009 and which was reinstated by Statutory Instrument 218 of 2023 being the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) (Amendment of Exchange Control Act) Regulations, 2023 to last until December 2030, the majority of domestic transactions in the country is being conducted in United States of American dollars, which has contributed to its scarcity on the market.

Fuel retailers, she said, are selling fuel exclusively in United States of American dollars while some goods and services such as payment of passport fees, are being levied exclusively in foreign currency.

Masarira argued that the current legal framework in respect of the trading of foreign currency, infringes upon people’s right to access foreign currency.

She reasoned that the current legal framework places people, who do not have easy access to foreign currency, into a precarious position as goods and services exclusively priced in foreign currency are effectively out of reach owing to the shortage of currency circulation in the market.

She stated that it is worrying that only a handful of some elite and privileged people could purchase foreign currency at the auction system launched in 2020 as there was no provision for ordinary citizens to purchase foreign currency.

Masarira argued that currently the RBZ prioritises access to foreign currency by importers with verifiable foreign invoices with little consideration being given to people who require smaller amounts of foreign currency for everyday purchases.

The LEAD political party leader wants the High Court to order the RBZ to declare that the existing regulatory framework is overly restrictive and unlawfully hinders people from having access to foreign currency and to order the central bank to facilitate easy and formal access to foreign currency by the public.

Masarira also wants the High Court to order the central bank to expand willing buyer-willing seller trading arrangement to permit herself and the general public to access foreign currency through banks and bureaux de change within 30 days of the granting of the court order.

She also wants the RBZ to be ordered to expand the Operational Guidelines for Authorised Dealers with Limited Authority-Money Transfer Agency and Bureaux de Change to permit herself and the general public to access foreign currency through banks and bureaux de change within 30 days of the granting of the court order.

The RBZ, Masarira says, should be ordered to adopt measures such as collaboration with mobile money operators and mobile money agents to enhance the seamless accessibility of foreign currency by the public within 30 days of the granting of the court order while enterprises and service providers in Zimbabwe must be compelled to provide dual pricing for all their products and services and allow people to purchase commodities in the currency of their choice

By Political Reporter-Presidential spokesperson George Charamba has hinted at retiring.

Charamba was appointed to the late President Robert Mugabe’s administration following the elections of 2000 and served as the presidential spokesperson until Mugabe’s ouster in a military coup in November 2017.

As the permanent secretary in the Information Ministry since 2000, Charamba has worked with Jonathan Moyo, Webster Shamu, and Sikhanyiso Ndlovu.

He is known for denouncing the opposition MDC party and, more recently, the CCC.

After Mugabe’s ouster by the junta, Charamba was replaced by Nick Mangwana as the Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary in 2018.

You Are Lying to Yourself, Sikhala Tells Sanyatwe, Zanu PF

By A Correspondent| Former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala has dismissed remarks by Zimbabwe National Army Commander General Anselem Sanyatwe that Zanu PF will rule till donkeys develop horns, is just fallacy.

Sanyatwe has torched a political storm after a video of him telling some villagers that Zanu PF will rule forever and if need be, they will use command voting.

Sanyatwe vowed President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s party will enforce what he termed “command voting”.

“Zanu PF will continue ruling until donkeys grow horns. Whether you like it or not. Now, I am speaking as the army commander, we are going to use what is called command voting.”

But Sikhala has sworn that Sanyatwe was just lying to himself as it will never happen.

“Zvokuti ZANU PF ichatonga kusvika madhongi amera nyanga kuzvinyepera uko. Kuzvifadza nenhema!!!,” said Sikhala.

Former senior member of the MDC, Senator Morgan Komichi also weighed in on the issue urging Mnangagwa to reign in on Sanyatwe for his reckless remarks.

Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Gonyet Driver, Wife, and Baby Near Chirundu

warning disturbing video picture image

Chirundu, Zimbabwe – Tragedy struck on the Chirundu highway today as an Alro Shipping truck driver, his wife, and their baby lost their lives in a devastating crash. The accident, which occurred in the early hours, involved the truck and another vehicle, resulting in a collision that left both vehicles beyond repair.

Witnesses reported that the truck was traveling northbound when it collided with an oncoming vehicle, leading to a catastrophic crash that claimed the lives of all occupants in the truck. The names of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The aftermath- pic: Road Watch Zimbabwe page

As the police continue their investigation and prepare an official statement, the nation has turned to social media to express grief and frustration over the incident. The condition of the Chirundu highway, a vital route for long-haul truck drivers, has come under intense scrutiny following the accident.

Barbara Goddard, a Zimbabwean who recently traveled through the area, shared her harrowing experience on social media, highlighting the perilous state of the road. “We were in Kariba last weekend. That road is horrendous. Trucks were actually battling some places to drive properly. Many were very respectful and trying to move over to allow smaller vehicles to pass safely. I couldn’t imagine having to try to drive that with a full load. Some of the side areas are just huge pits of death traps. Even a truck will flip if it got its wheels in there. We won’t be going back in a long while, I reckon. I pray for our long-distance drivers who have to use these roads… eish.”

Her sentiments echo those of many Zimbabweans who are calling for immediate action to repair and maintain the highway, which is critical for the country’s transport and logistics sector. The road’s deteriorating condition has been a long-standing issue, exacerbating the risk for drivers who navigate it daily.

The loss of the truck driver, his wife, and their baby is a stark reminder of the urgent need for infrastructure improvements. The Chirundu highway is a major artery for commerce, connecting Zimbabwe to neighboring Zambia and facilitating trade across the region. However, its current state poses a significant threat to the safety of all road users.

Local authorities and the Ministry of Transport are expected to address the concerns raised by citizens and outline steps to ensure the highway is made safer. Meanwhile, the community mourns the tragic loss and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

As the nation awaits further details from the police investigation, this incident underscores the critical importance of road safety and infrastructure maintenance. The Chirundu highway, once a symbol of connectivity and economic vitality, now stands as a somber reminder of the potential consequences of neglecting essential public works.

New SA Sports Minister Endorses Car Spinning

In a groundbreaking announcement, the newly appointed Minister of Sports, Arts, Culture, and Recreation, Mr. Gayton McKenzie, has declared that car spinning will now be recognized as one of the premier sports in South Africa. This decision marks a significant shift in the country’s sports culture, acknowledging a grassroots movement that has captivated enthusiasts and participants alike for decades.

Car spinning, characterized by skillful maneuvers and precise control of vehicles, has long been a vibrant subculture within South Africa’s automotive scene. Originating from the streets and evolving into organized events, it combines elements of athleticism, creativity, and technical prowess. For many communities, it serves not only as entertainment but also as a means of cultural expression and a source of pride.

Minister McKenzie’s decision to elevate car spinning to official sport status underscores its importance within the nation’s sporting landscape. This move is expected to bring formal recognition, regulatory frameworks, and institutional support to a discipline that has previously operated largely outside traditional sporting structures.

“I am proud to announce that car spinning is now officially recognized as a sport in South Africa,” stated Minister McKenzie during his address. “This decision is a testament to the dedication and skill of our car spinning community. It is time to celebrate their achievements and provide them with the recognition they deserve.”

The announcement has been met with enthusiasm from car spinning enthusiasts nationwide. Many view it as a positive step towards legitimizing their passion and providing opportunities for young talent to thrive. By establishing a structured framework, the government aims to enhance safety standards, promote professional development, and create avenues for international participation and competition.

In recent years, car spinning has gained traction beyond its grassroots origins, attracting audiences through social media platforms and live events. Its blend of high-octane action and precision driving has garnered a following both locally and internationally, positioning South Africa as a hub for automotive skill and innovation.

As part of the new initiative, plans are underway to establish training academies, competitions, and certification programs to nurture talent and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Additionally, partnerships with stakeholders in the automotive industry are being explored to further promote the sport’s growth and sustainability.

For participants like Thabo Molefe, a seasoned car spinner from Johannesburg, the official recognition represents a milestone long overdue. “We’ve dedicated our lives to perfecting this art form,” Molefe remarked. “Now, with the government’s support, we can take car spinning to new heights and inspire the next generation of drivers.”

Looking ahead, stakeholders are optimistic about the sport’s potential to foster community engagement, economic opportunities, and national pride. With Minister McKenzie’s bold decision, car spinning has secured its place as a dynamic addition to South Africa’s diverse sporting repertoire, promising excitement, skill, and spectacle for years to come.

The match, held on Tuesday afternoon, showcased Kenya’s resilience and skill as they fought for a spot in the COSAFA Cup semi-finals.

The game remained tightly contested in the first half, with both teams creating few clear chances.

However, it was in the second half that Kenya’s dynamic duo from Gor Mahia, Austin Odhiambo and Benson Omalla, came into their own.

Odhiambo broke the deadlock early in the half, rifling in a precise shot after a pinpoint cross from team captain Rooney.

Omalla extended Kenya’s lead in the 69th minute with a clinical finish, capitalizing on a long ball to loft it over the advancing Zimbabwean goalkeeper.

The victory propelled Kenya to second place in Group B standings, narrowly behind group winners Comoros, who secured their spot with a 1-0 win over Zambia in a simultaneous match. Kenya’s hopes of advancing to the semi-finals now hinge on their position as the best second-placed team across all groups.

For the Emerging Stars, the path to the semi-finals remains contingent on the outcome of Group C’s final matches.

They are banking on either Angola or Namibia, both currently on four points, to falter in their respective fixtures. Angola faces Lesotho, while Namibia takes on Seychelles, with both opponents having secured only a single point each in their previous two outings.

The clash against Zimbabwe was a must-win encounter for Kenya after suffering a setback against Comoros in their previous match. The team’s determination and strategic prowess were evident throughout the game, especially in their cohesive defensive efforts to deny Zimbabwe any comeback opportunities.

With eyes set firmly on advancement, Kenya’s Emerging Stars have demonstrated their capability and resilience in navigating the challenges of the COSAFA Cup.

As they await the results from Group C, the Kenyan squad remains optimistic and prepared to seize any opportunity that presents itself in their quest for tournament glory.

Leaked Audio Said To’ve Been Created By Rat Mother To Attack Tyra

By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye |

Breaking Story: Leaked Audio Accuses Tyra of Marital Separation, Points to Rat Mother’s Smear Campaign

In a shocking twist in the world of high society, a leaked audio recording has surfaced, accusing the enigmatic socialite known only as Tyra of separating from her husband, Mr. Eland. The recording, featuring unnamed individuals, has sent ripples through social circles, but many suspect it is a strategic smear campaign orchestrated by none other than the controversial figure known as Rat Mother.

The timing of the leak is suspicious. It comes just as Rat Mother’s reputation has taken a nosedive, resulting in her being banned from entering both the United States and the United Kingdom—countries that Tyra continues to visit freely. This development has led many to believe that the audio was fabricated by Rat Mother to tarnish Tyra’s image and divert attention from her own scandalous downfall.

The audio, laced with whispers and accusations, paints a picture of a crumbling marriage between Tyra and Mr. Eland. The speakers in the recording allege that Tyra’s separation is imminent, citing irreconcilable differences and clandestine affairs. However, the identities of these individuals remain undisclosed, casting doubt on the veracity of their claims.

Speculation is rife that Rat Mother, known for her cutthroat tactics and penchant for drama, is behind the leaked audio. Her recent bans from the US and UK have left her social standing in tatters, and this scandalous leak appears to be a desperate attempt to regain control of the narrative. Tyra, a rising star in the socialite scene, has been a formidable competitor, and undermining her reputation could be Rat Mother’s last-ditch effort to salvage her own.

Sources close to Tyra and Mr. Eland have dismissed the audio as baseless and malicious. “Tyra and Mr. Eland are stronger than ever,” said one confidant. “This is nothing but a smear campaign by someone who can’t stand seeing others succeed where she has failed.”

Social media has exploded with reactions, with many expressing skepticism about the audio’s authenticity. Hashtags like #StandWithTyra and #ExposeRatMother are trending, as supporters rally behind Tyra and call for the truth to come to light.

While Tyra has yet to make a public statement, her silence speaks volumes. Known for her grace under pressure, she is likely to address the allegations head-on in due time. Until then, the world watches as this high-stakes drama unfolds, wondering if Rat Mother’s plot will succeed or backfire spectacularly.

As the story develops, one thing is clear: in the world of high society, reputations can be made or broken in an instant, and the battle between Tyra and Rat Mother is far from over.

Acquitted ERC, ZESN Sues Minister, Police Boss Over Confiscicated Gadgets

By A Correspondent| Some election watchdog employees, who were recently exonerated by the court, have sued Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General Godwin Matanga and Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Minister Kazembe Kazembe for forcibly and illegally seizing their electronic gadgets, when they arrested them last year for allegedly contravening the Electoral Act.

The 35 Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) and Election Resource Centre (ERC) employees and volunteers, were arrested by ZRP officers on 23 August and charged with contravening section 66(A)(1)(a) of the Electoral Act as read with section 189 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, for allegedly purporting to announce the result of an election as the true or official results and for attempting to commit a crime.

The arrest of the election watchdog employees followed a raid on their officers at a hotel in Harare and at some offices located in the capital city, where their gadgets including mobile phone handsets and laptops, were confiscated by the law enforcements agents.

In court, prosecutors alleged that the 35 ERC and ZESN employees and volunteers attempted to announce the 2023 harmonised election outcome by consolidating the election results with the intention of announcing them to the public through the media before the official announcement by Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

But on 30 May, the 35 election watchdog employees were exonerated after prosecutors withdrew charges of contravening the Electoral Act before plea, citing lack of tangible evidence to rely upon during trial.

This prompted the ZESN and ERC employees and volunteers to sue Matanga and Hon. Kazembe by filing an urgent court application at the High Court seeking an order compelling the law enforcement agents and Kazembe to release and surrender their electronic gadgets to them.

In the application, which was filed on 18 June by their lawyer Kossam Ncube of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, the election watchdog employees argued that their electronic gadgets were being unlawfully held by ZRP since the charges, which were initially preferred against them had now been formally withdrawn by the National Prosecuting Authority.

The ERC and ZESN employees contended that they are suffering irreparable and daily inconvenience of being deprived of the usage of their gadgets for personal and business purposes owing to the ZRP’s illegal refusal to release and surrender their mobile phone handsets and laptops.

The conduct of ZRP officers in refusing to release their gadgets, the election watchdog employees said, flies in the face of clear provisions of section 58(1)(d)(i) of the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act, which obliges ZRP to forthwith release their gadgets following the withdrawal of criminal charges.

In response to the request by the ERC and ZESN employees and volunteers, the law enforcement agency argued that it is unable to release the gadgets owing to some undisclosed and pending investigations, which the ZRP was carrying out in spite of the criminal charges having been withdrawn.

On 25 June, High Court Judge Justice Neville Wamambo reserved his ruling after presiding over hearing of the urgent court application.

George Guvamatanga & Auxillia Mnangagwa: The Power Struggle Unveiled

By A Correspondent | COMMENT | Auxillia Mnangagwa, leveraging her influence, ousted the founders of a food franchise and expelled Chris Mutsvangwa from the Manizhe Iron and Steel Company’s catering contract.

George Guvamatanga

Their aggressive acquisitions didn’t stop there; they forcibly took control of numerous mines, now dominating the smuggling, refining, and sales of minerals. With the Mnangagwa twins, Sean and Collins, virtually running Fidelity Printers, their grasp over Zimbabwe’s resources extends to controlling meal services at these mines. The nation has become a vast tuckshop under the Mnangagwa clan’s command.

Major mines are now mandated to contract Auxillia for all catering needs, reinforcing the Mnangagwa stranglehold. Concurrently, George Guvamatanga’s brother has taken over a newly established medical aid society that replaced PSMAS. This society collects contributions from all civil servants except the ZDF, who have been explicitly warned of dire consequences should they fail to deliver to expectations.

John Guvamatanga, George’s brother, exploits this new medical aid society, siphoning off around USD $1.2 million from civil servants to fund his lavish lifestyle. Set up by George, John operates Emerald Medical Aid, having recently upgraded his residence from Ruwa to the affluent Borrowdale. George ensured the operational struggles of PSMAS by strangling it off timely payments from Treasury.

George Guvamatanga extends his corrupt influence beyond Zimbabwe, acquiring hotels in Tanzania, Kenya, Thailand, and Dubai. These hotels serve as playgrounds for state-funded escapades, with Guvamatanga orchestrating lavish trips for his entourage of whores and political cortisans. His corruption knows no bounds, with investments in beauty pageants, which he uses as breeding grounds for “new talent” to expand his nefarious activities.

This intricate web of corruption and power abuse highlights a deeply entrenched system where public resources are diverted for personal gain, leaving the ordinary Zimbabwean at the mercy of a powerful few. The Mnangagwa clan and their associates, including George Guvamatanga, have created a parallel economy, one that thrives on exploitation and manipulation, making Zimbabwe a nation teetering under the weight of their unchecked power.

Land Barons Push For The Transformation Of Checheche Growth Point

By Municipal Reporter- Politically connected business people in Manicaland’s Checheche growth point in Chipinge are advocating for the premature transformation of the area into a town, aiming to seize land and exploit desperate home seekers.

These well-known land barons are pressuring the Chipinge Rural District Council to expedite this process.

This issue surfaced at a stakeholders’ meeting last Friday, where various parties gathered to discuss the growth point’s potential town status.

Checheche attained growth point status in 1982 and has been under the spotlight since 2009 when Greenfuel Pvt Ltd, an ethanol-producing company, established operations in Chipinge.

This company has been in conflict with local residents, displacing them from their ancestral land without proper consultation.

The push for Checheche’s transformation into a town by key stakeholders has been met with mixed reactions.

One community member who attended the meeting reported that well-known politicians and businesspeople with dubious characters are attempting to bribe authorities to hasten the transformation process.

“These premature announcements are being made to inflate land prices and affect taxing processes during service delivery,” said the community leader, who requested anonymity for fear of political victimisation.

A local youth empowerment organisation, the Platform for Youth and Community Development (PYCD), which has been advocating for the rights of locals for the past one and a half decades, said that while they understand the benefits of Checheche becoming a town, the transformation process must be transparent and expedient.

PYCD said that local villagers must be properly consulted and compensated to ensure their cooperation and support for the expansion.

PYCD director Claris Madhuku said, “Granting town status is a process rather than an event. Stakeholders are advised to be patient and ensure that all due diligence processes are followed. The last push for this status was hindered by external forces misrepresenting the economic status and opportunities of the growth point. Misrepresenting the population and land area of Checheche does not help; it led to unnecessarily expensive stands due to speculation. When Checheche becomes a town, it must benefit the natives, not create a situation where locals are disqualified in favor of those with money who monopolise economic and business opportunities.”

Madhuku highlighted the pending disputes involving Mahachi villagers and other individuals whose status the town may displace.
“These issues must be clarified and resolved so that the town status improves rather than impoverishes and ostracises the intended beneficiaries. The town status is welcome, but it must not be hurried and driven by the wrong interests.”

Mnangagwa Spooks In Plot To Arrest Amos Chibaya…

Information we are receiving from state sources is that a high powered delegation of two batches of the dreaded Ferret and CIO teams has been dispatched to Gweru and Bulawayo to hunt down citizens Organizer Hon Amos Chibaya and Spokesperson, Hon Gift Siziba. The plan is to abduct the duo following their calls for the government to release the #Avondale79.

We condemn the regime’s dark antics to silence our leadership.

Ostallos, Amos Chibaya In Abduction Scare

Political Reporter-Reports reaching us suggest that Nelson Chamisa’s aides, Gift Otallos Siziba and Amos Chibaya, are being sought after by the secret police.

According to these reports, the duo’s whereabouts are not known.

ZimEye was in the process of gathering the facts and comments from authorities about these allegations at the time of publishing.

and Hon. Amos Chibaya after their media address at Harare Magistrates’ Court a few days ago. The two had attended the bail ruling session in solidarity with our Chief Administrator, Senator Jameson Timba, and the #Avondale78. Two days ago, police and army intelligence officials forcibly entered Hon. Siziba’s parents Bulawayo residence, posing as family members, but were exposed as security agents.  Their intent is to abduct, torture, detain, and seek further detention to prevent them from applying for bail. The regime is in panic mode, assuming the duo is planning a protest ahead of the upcoming SADC Summit. We are not yet free in Zimbabwe , but as ‘Father Zimbabwe’, the late Dr. Joshua M. Mike ‘Mbudzi’ Chimombe Collapses, As More Witnesses Testify In His Mbudzi Case

By Crime and Courts, Reporter-Affirmative Action Group President and Zanu PF member Mike Chimombe Monday fell hard while disembarking from a Prison vehicle that had taken him to the Harare Magistrates court for his bail hearing.

Chimombe and Moses Mpofu are facing US$7 million fraud charges.

In their case, the state is alleging that Mpofu and Chimombe forged documents to win the tender to supply goats under the Presidential Goat Scheme.

The two are represented by their lawyers Arshiel Mugiya and Tapson Dzvetero.

The first witness, Mrs Gamuchirai Zimunhu, part of the ZACC investigating team, concluded giving her evidence yesterday afternoon insisting that the two were flight risks.
The second investigating officer, Mr Henry Chapwanya, also took to the witness stand and said the duo should be denied bail because they disrupted the Presidential Goat Scheme, a project initiated by President Mnangagwa.
“The actions by both derailed his Excellency’s vision to attain a middle income economy. These type of economic saboteurs need to be dealt with using an iron fist,” he said.
Mr Chapwanya added that there could be a public outcry if the duo was released.
“My fear is with the reaction of the public. If you look on social media people are very angry. If released on bail, there will be protests on the streets, which will undermine peace and security in the nation as the country is expecting to host the Sadc summit in the next few weeks.”
Mr Chapwanya also submitted that the accused persons were a flight risk and men of means who could, at any given time, escape through the country’s borders and sustain their livelihoods.”
He also said Mpofu gave a suspicious address.
The matter was rolled over to today for bail continuation.

Mnangagwa Rewards 2008 Terrorist Junta

By Political Correspondent- President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Monday paid tribute to one of the top military figures involved in terrorising opposition supporters during the discredited 2008 June Presidential run-off campaign.

Brigadier-General (Rtd) Romeo Daniel Mutsvunguma was identified by Human Rights Watch as one of the key Army officials who persecuted thousands of the late Morgan Tsvangirai’s supporters in 2008.

He presided over the killing of over 200 MDC supporters by the Zanu PF militia and the displacement of thousands from their homes.

Brigadier-General (Rtd) Mutsvunguma, who died on June 13, was laid to rest at the national shrine on Monday as an honour by Mnangagwa.

Speaking at his burial, President Mnangagwa praised him as a dedicated soldier.

Mnangagwa, who was bolstered by the military in 2008 after the March elections, played a pivotal role in convincing President Robert Mugabe, who had been defeated by the MDC Presidential candidate, to retain power.

Mnangagwa and the military manipulated the Presidential election results, which were withheld for over a month to prevent either Tsvangirai or Mugabe from securing an outright majority vote.

This manipulation forced Mugabe and Tsvangirai into a unity government that lasted until 2013.

Mnangagwa’s manoeuvres during this period set the stage for his eventual rise to power, culminating in his successful ousting of Mugabe with military assistance in 2017, achieving his long-held ambition of becoming President of the Republic.

VISA SCAM ALERT: Peter Thole

Dear Editor.

May you please help us publish and expose a man who scammed many people in Zimbabwe. This individual, Peter Thole, claimed he could assist people in relocating to Australia and Canada, charging $65 for those with passports and $75 for those without. He collected significant amounts of money from numerous individuals.

Peter Thole collaborated with someone named Morrison Mupedzi. They made false promises, and when the scheduled meeting dates approached, Thole would provide lame excuses, such as claiming that the team from Australia had an accident, thus delaying the meetings. Eventually, he blocked all communication with the victims.

We also had our first meeting with him at a house in Budiriro tikatomuona- we saw him face to face. On that meeting we were to be briefed about the company he was claiming to be working for, he was saying he is the Pastor of the Church called Fishers of Men and he was asked by the Foundation called Wallace foundation to recruit people to work in Australia, Canada and Dubai.

His name reflected on the ecocash deposits that were made to him.

We have reported the case to the police, and it is now in the courts. We urge the public to be aware of this scam to avoid falling into the same trap.

Please do not mention my name if you publish this story, as these scammers are dangerous.

Thank you.

Is Chivayo Evading Arrest?

By A Correspondent

A recent photograph of Wicknell Chivayo at Robert Mugabe International Airport has ignited a firestorm of speculation and criticism, as observers question his motives amid ongoing legal scrutiny.

Chivayo, a prominent figure in Zimbabwean business and politics, has found himself embroiled in controversy following the leak of an incendiary audio recording where he allegedly boasted about his influence over Presidential and State affairs.

The image, which surfaced on social media platforms, depicts Chivayo navigating the airport premises, prompting concerns about his intentions and potential legal implications. Critics and commentators alike have seized upon the photograph as evidence of attempts to evade accountability or seek refuge abroad.

One observer, who preferred to remain anonymous, voiced skepticism over Chivayo’s presence at the airport, stating, “It raises suspicions that he may be attempting to escape legal repercussions.”

Such sentiments reflect widespread public unease regarding Chivayo’s alleged misconduct and the perceived impunity of powerful individuals in Zimbabwean society.

In the leaked audio, reportedly recorded during a private conversation, Chivayo purportedly asserted his control over sensitive governmental matters, sparking outrage and calls for investigation from various quarters.

The content of the recording has exacerbated existing scrutiny surrounding Chivayo’s business dealings and political connections, amplifying demands for transparency and accountability within Zimbabwe’s governance framework.

Legal experts have underscored the gravity of the situation, highlighting potential legal ramifications for Chivayo if proven that he indeed sought to flee the country amid ongoing investigations.

“The timing of such actions could be construed as an attempt to obstruct justice,” remarked legal analyst, emphasizing the need for thorough investigation and adherence to due process in handling the case.

Responding to the public uproar, a symathiser of Chivayo issued a brief statement, asserting that his client’s travels were routine and unrelated to legal matters.

“Mr. Chivayo remains committed to cooperating with authorities and addressing any concerns through appropriate channels,” the sympathiser affirmed, seeking to allay fears of deliberate evasion.

The unfolding saga surrounding Wicknell Chivayo serves as a stark reminder of the complexities inherent in Zimbabwe’s political and business landscapes.

It underscores broader issues of governance, accountability, and the rule of law, resonating with public sentiments over the equitable application of justice irrespective of one’s social or political stature.

As the controversy continues to unfold, Zimbabweans remain vigilant, demanding transparency and adherence to constitutional principles in addressing allegations of wrongdoing.

The outcome of investigations into Chivayo’s conduct is anticipated with keen interest, reflecting broader aspirations for justice and integrity in national affairs.

In the words of a concerned citizen, “The true test of our democratic institutions lies in how effectively they hold individuals accountable, regardless of their influence or connections.”

The aftermath of Chivayo’s airport appearance promises to be a pivotal moment in Zimbabwe’s ongoing quest for ethical governance and societal trust.

Bellingham Shines

GELSENKIRCHEN, Germany — Maybe it is better to be lucky than good. Make no mistake, England got out of jail against Slovakia after winning 2-1, saved by a moment of individual brilliance rather than any coherent game plan.

The obituaries were written, the formal announcement of Gareth Southgate’s departure as head coach drafted in the minds of those Football Association employees responsible.

Anger rained down from the stands as beleaguered England fans watched their team fall into a state of paralysis while undertaking the task of replying to Ivan Schranz’s 25th-minute opening goal, a fourth consecutive display of this type at Euro 2024 and one nearly triggering their early exit from a tournament many expected them to win.

Then out of darkness, came light.

Jude Bellingham rescued this lost cause with a magical strike, his 95th-minute overhead kick forcing extra time, a minute into which, Harry Kane nodded in to complete a remarkable turnaround and set up a quarterfinal with Switzerland in Dusseldorf on Saturday.

HH Confronts Mnangagwa

By Political Reporter- The government of Zambia has summoned the Zimbabwean envoy in that country, Charity Charamba, to explain comments made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa during his recent visit to Russia.

Mnangagwa recently told Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting at Konstantinosky Palace in the Petrodvorets district of St. Petersburg, Strelna village, that the West was using Zambia to isolate Zimbabwe.

According to a transcript of the meeting published by the Kremlin, Mnangagwa said Western countries were consolidating their power in Zambia “in terms of security and in terms of financial support” thereby isolating Zimbabwe.

Zambia’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mulambo Haimbe, recently said Mnangagwa’s comments were an “unwarranted attack on Zambia’s sovereignty.”

Mnangagwa’s spokesperson George Charamba confirmed the meeting of Ambassord Charity Charamba with the Zambian government. Said Charamba:

We are aware that following the bilateral talks between the President of Zimbabwe and his Russian counterpart, whichdetails were placed in the public domain by the host President, the Zambians reacted by summoning our Ambassador, Ambassador Charamba, to the Foreign Office.

In that meeting, which took place at the Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Zambia, there was quite some widerepresentation of various departments of the Zambian government.

[George] Charamba said [Charity] Charamba heeded the summons by Zambia authorities and presented herself to the Zambian Foreign Office. He said:

When she got to know about the misgivings of the Zambians, which she promptly delivered to the head office of the Zimbabwean Government, the Zimbabwean Government promptly responded to the issues which the Zambians actuallyraised with us.

What that means in diplomatic terms is that the matter is being handled at a bilateral level.

Haimbe told the Zambian Parliament the government had lodged a formal complaint against Zimbabwe with SADC Executive Secretary Mr Elias Magosi for regional intervention in the matter.

Charamba said this move by Zambia suggests that Lusaka may have “lost faith in bilateral interaction with the Republic of Zimbabwe”. He said:

… if what we are getting is true, it suggests that the Zambians have lost faith in the bilateral interaction with the Republic of Zimbabwe, which will be so unfortunate and will not bode well for our bilateral relations.

It essentially means they are trying to escalate the matter to a sub-regional body, when in fact there is already interaction at a bilateral level and that interaction has not been exhausted nor has it hit an impasse.

We really regret that the Zambians would have taken such a course because that would be inappropriate given the relationship and also the fact that the two states are communicating.

In a statement issued on Friday last week, Charamba said Mnangagwa stood by the remarks he made in Russia. He said:

For the record and for the avoidance of any doubt, President Mnangagwa stands by his remarks in St Petersburg whichraised well-founded fears for Zimbabwe regarding American intentions and activities in our region, and which voiced and defended Zimbabwe’s sacrosanct security interests, while echoing the collective position of Sadc and the African Union, AU, against any foreign military presence and/or activities on African soil.

During the meeting with Putin at the Constantine Palace on 06 June 2024, Mnangagwa said:

You see, the West has just begun consolidating its power in Zambia, our next neighbour. You know, there was a time when Zambia and Zimbabwe were one; it was called Northern and Southern Rhodesia. It was made one by the British, but they are now separate. And the Americans are consolidating their power in that country, both in terms of security and in terms of financial support to Zambia to make sure that we feel lonely.

Tapera Praises Warriors

Zimbabwe national team coach Jairos Tapera has commended his charges’ performance in their 2-0 victory against Zambia in Group B of the 2024 COSAFA Cup on Sunday.

The Warriors consolidated their lead at the top of the group after the victory put them on six points from two games.

Michael Tapera scored a stunning solo goal in the 8th minute to open the scoring before Takunda Benhura doubled the lead two minutes from the break with a great header.

Speaking after the match, Jairos Tapera explained how his team executed the game plan.

He said: “The boys did the job, we wanted it more. The strategy was to get an early goal, and we got it.

“This unsettled our opponents, and they became desperate.

“Talking about the movement, we allowed them to play on the back, and we know how they were going to operate. That’s why we were hitting them on the breaks.”

Tapera added that some Warriors players in this COSAFA squad will be included in the senior team in future.

The coach continued: “We included just one player from the June World Cup Qualifiers squad. This an opportunity for the new guys.

“I told them to put their 100% effort, and they are looking for positions (in the first team).

“We are looking at how we can start our national team again, we might have two or three guys who can join the senior squad.”

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | In a dramatic turn of events, Finance and Economic Ministry Permanent Secretary George Guvamatanga was fired and then swiftly reinstated within a span of eight days following the publication of a ZimEye article on June 14, 2024. The article, which brought to light serious allegations of corruption, led to immediate action by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

According to impeccable sources, Guvamatanga was terminated on June 22, 2024, after the corruption probe intensified, pinpointing him as the key figure in the scandal. The investigation revealed that Guvamatanga was charging up to 30% in bribes for the release of government contract payments, exacerbating the already severe foreign currency shortages in the country.

The allegations included a substantial net corruption loss estimated at no less than USD $20 billion. Sources also indicate that the probe highlighted his private operations in Ballantyne Park, where he allegedly facilitated these illicit transactions.

“ED was briefed and George was fired as a result of that ZimEye article,” an impeccable sources told ZimEye.

However, the situation took a surprising turn when David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa, Deputy Minister and cousin to the President, intervened. Known for his professional integrity and noted intellectual prowess, David Mnangagwa’s intervention led to Guvamatanga’s reinstatement shortly after his dismissal. This move has sparked widespread speculation about the internal dynamics and power struggles within the government.

Guvamatanga was still to comment over the matter at the time of printing.

Meanwhile, observers suggest that the initial firing and subsequent reinstatement of Guvamatanga reflect ongoing tensions and potential vendettas within the political elite. David Mnangagwa, despite facing numerous personal attacks, including unexplained incidents at his home, is perceived as striving to maintain accountability within the Treasury.

The public awaits further developments and official statements regarding these serious allegations, as the net tightens around those involved in this extensive corruption scheme.

Effects of Drug and Substance Abuse in Zimbabwe

In Zimbabwe, like many other countries around the world, drug and substance abuse has emerged as a significant societal issue with far-reaching consequences.

From urban centers to rural communities, the impact of substance abuse extends beyond health implications to encompass economic, social, and developmental challenges.

Prevalence and Types of Substances

The prevalence of drug and substance abuse in Zimbabwe spans a variety of substances, including but not limited to alcohol, marijuana (known locally as “mbanje”), prescription drugs, and illicit substances like cocaine and crystal meth. Each substance carries its own set of risks and impacts on individuals and communities.

Health Implications

One of the most immediate effects of drug abuse is its impact on health. Substance abuse can lead to addiction, which is characterized by compulsive drug-seeking and use despite harmful consequences. Chronic use of substances like alcohol and drugs can result in serious health problems such as liver damage, cardiovascular issues, respiratory disorders, and mental health disorders including depression and anxiety.

Social and Economic Consequences

Drug abuse also exerts a significant toll on the social fabric of communities. Families often bear the brunt of substance abuse through increased domestic violence, neglect of children, and breakdown of relationships. Economically, substance abuse contributes to reduced productivity in workplaces, higher healthcare costs, and strains on social services.

Impact on Youth and Education

Young people are particularly vulnerable to the effects of drug abuse. Substance abuse among youth can derail educational opportunities, leading to lower academic performance, school dropout rates, and reduced future prospects. It also increases the likelihood of engaging in risky behaviors such as unsafe sexual practices and criminal activities.

Rural vs Urban Dynamics

While urban areas traditionally have higher reported cases of substance abuse due to factors such as availability and peer influence, rural areas are not immune. In rural Zimbabwe, challenges like unemployment, poverty, and lack of recreational facilities can contribute to substance abuse as individuals seek coping mechanisms or succumb to peer pressure.

Government and Community Responses

The Zimbabwean government has taken steps to address drug and substance abuse through policy initiatives, public health campaigns, and law enforcement efforts. However, challenges persist, including limited resources for treatment and rehabilitation facilities, gaps in public awareness, and the need for targeted interventions tailored to specific demographics and regions.

Way Forward

Addressing drug and substance abuse requires a multifaceted approach involving collaboration between government agencies, healthcare providers, educators, community leaders, and civil society organizations. Efforts should focus on prevention through education, early intervention through accessible treatment programs, enforcement of drug laws, and support for individuals in recovery.

In conclusion, drug and substance abuse in Zimbabwe is a complex issue with profound implications for health, social cohesion, and economic development.

Addressing this challenge requires sustained efforts to raise awareness, strengthen prevention measures, expand treatment options, and foster supportive environments that promote healthier choices and lifestyles.

By addressing drug abuse comprehensively, Zimbabwe can mitigate its negative impacts and build a brighter future for its citizens.

Picture :Is Wicknell Chivayo Fleeing Arrest?

Allow Mnangagwa To Stay Beyond 2028: Zanu PF, Do You Agree?

When people say 2030 VaEmmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa Vachange Vachitonga, it’s a statement of confidence in the development agenda being led by the current President.

There is nothing divisive in calling for the continuation of a progressive government.

Development can not be stopped simply because of a man made document. Yes the constitution can say two terms but remember a constitution is a living document which can be amended from time to time.

We cannot be imprisoned by a constitution which says that a progressive leader should step down after two terms even when it is clear that the country is developing under his leadership. The constitution was made by the people and it can be changed by the people

The only logical thing is to allow the President to fully complete his vision.

Our quest for prosperity cannot be suffocated by the desire to fulfil our personal ambitions.

I Don’t Care, Tshabangu Defends Visit To State House

Tinashe Sambiri

Senator Sengezo Tshabangu, the interim Secretary General of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has found himself at the centre of controversy following his presence at a recent national event held at State House.

Despite facing criticism for his presence at the official gathering, Tshabangu has staunchly defended his decision, emphasizing his commitment to nationalism and patriotism.

“Some are criticizing me for attending a ‘national’ event yesterday at State House. It must be clear to all that I won’t be discouraged from attending events with anything to do with nationalism. In fact, I’m both a nationalist and a patriot, so I’ll never stop attending such events,” Tshabangu asserted defiantly in response to the backlash.

The event in question, which drew widespread attention and debate on social media and in political circles, has raised eyebrows due to Tshabangu’s affiliation with the opposition CCC and the perceived implications of his presence at State House, traditionally associated with the ruling Zanu PF regime led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Critics have voiced concerns that Tshabangu’s attendance could be interpreted as an endorsement of the ruling party, potentially undermining the opposition’s stance against the government’s policies and practices. Some commentators have gone as far as accusing Tshabangu of legitimizing the current administration through his proximity to President Mnangagwa.

In defense of his actions, Tshabangu emphasized his unwavering commitment to Zimbabwean nationalism and his belief in the importance of engaging in national events regardless of political affiliations.

“Attending events at State House does not imply endorsement of any particular political party. As a patriot, I believe in participating in national affairs to contribute positively to our country’s development,” he reiterated.

Despite the controversy, Tshabangu’s supporters have rallied behind him, echoing his sentiments on the importance of national unity and dialogue across political divides.

“Senator Tshabangu’s presence at State House demonstrates his willingness to engage constructively in national discourse, which is essential for fostering unity and progress,” remarked one supporter, underscoring the broader significance of political inclusivity in Zimbabwe.

The incident has highlighted ongoing tensions within Zimbabwe’s political landscape, where perceptions and interpretations of political actions can carry significant weight.

As the country navigates complex socio-political challenges, including economic hardships and governance issues, the role of opposition figures like Tshabangu in national events remains a contentious topic that reflects broader debates on democracy and civic engagement.

Looking ahead, Tshabangu’s defense of his State House visit underscores the evolving dynamics of Zimbabwean politics, where individuals navigate between principles of national duty and partisan loyalty.

The episode serves as a reminder of the nuanced relationships between political actors and institutions, shaping public discourse and perceptions in a rapidly changing socio-political environment.

In the words of Tshabangu himself, “I remain committed to serving the interests of all Zimbabweans, irrespective of political affiliations.

Our nation’s progress hinges on our ability to engage constructively and find common ground for the greater good.”

As debates continue, Zimbabweans await further developments that may shed light on the future direction of political dialogue and engagement in the country.

New Details on Mnangagwa Soldier Son Fuel Scam

By Political Reporter- The government has reacted to allegations that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s soldier son, Sean, is involved in field corruption.

Government spokesperson Nick Mangwana tweeted Sunday, clearing Sean, who is also accused of charging investors for facilitating them to meet with his father, ED.

Below is what Mangwana said:

Whoever made some believe that being dishonest is hustling is damaging a generation. In the last few days there has been many reports of people being fleeced in some shady fuel deals by a conman using this number purporting to be Major Sean Mnangagwa. It’s not him. Please don’t be hustled out your moneys trying to make a quick buck.

Tshabangu Bribed To ‘Kill’ Chamisa

By Political Reporter- Self-imposed Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu, was bribed by the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) to kill Nelson Chamisa’s political career, it has emerged.

In this operation, Tshabangu collaborated with retired brigadier-general Walter Tapfumaneyi, deputy director-general of the CIO and leader of the Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), an organisation implicated in helping Zanu PF rig the 23 August 2023 general election.

A local news organisation revealed that Tshabangu and Tapfumaneyi coordinated strategies and resources for an operation aimed at destabilising the CCC, discrediting Chamisa, and engineering by-elections to secure Zanu PF a two-thirds majority in Parliament.

Tshabangu received logistical and financial support from the CIO through FAZ, with reports suggesting that at least US$1 million was allocated for his expenses and luxury stays in Harare.

Speaker of the National Assembly, Jacob Mudenda, allegedly supported Tshabangu’s efforts to recall CCC MPs, disregarding Chamisa’s authority.

When Tshabangu’s steering committee, responsible for organising the recalls, attempted to remove him, Mudenda refused to intervene, asserting that he would not meddle in CCC’s internal politics.

Despite multiple attempts, the committee’s efforts to replace Tshabangu with Tshuma as the interim chairperson were unsuccessful.

Following his fallout with the steering committee, Tshabangu began attending high-profile state functions presided over by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, publicly praising the government. An intelligence source disclosed that Tapfumaneyi and FAZ orchestrated the operation to dismantle the CCC and manage Tshabangu. When misunderstandings arose, the CIO briefly cut ties with Tshabangu, prompting him to seek assistance from Zanu PF members and CIO operatives to resolve the issues. He eventually reconciled with the CIO and continued his efforts to weaken the opposition.
Tshabangu’s motivations included revenge for being sidelined by Chamisa within the CCC. In his quest, he not only disrupted the CCC but also gained personal benefits, including money, a car, and a position in the Senate. Several opportunistic individuals who collaborated with Tshabangu also profited from the CIO operation.

“Evicted and Forgotten: The Plight of a Blind Pastor Left Homeless After 19 Years of Service”

My take on the story of the blind Pastor who was evicted from his church-owned house recently

I read with sadness the story of this blind pastor who was recently evicted from his church-owned house in Harare. According to the Pastor, he has served the church for nineteen years, opened a number of church branches, only to be evicted and left homeless in these chilly weather conditions.

Yes, most of us would find it easy to blame the clergyman for his failure to plan his life on time. At sixty, he must have constructed a house of his own and not depended upon the church for accommodation five years before his retirement, we can say, but we don’t know his circumstances.

Who are we to judge? The Church must have been more sympathetic to the struggling man of the cloth and allowed him to continue using the church-owned house for his accommodation.

I remember back in 2002/2003 in Mbizo Suburb, Kwekwe. I was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church Mbizo 12. Mbizo 12 SDA Church was (and is) a beautiful Church. The building was very beautiful, and the furniture was very nice as well. There was a vibrant youth ministry, the Adventist Youth (AY), of which I was a member at that time.

I was also a member of the Church Board, the highest decision-making committee at a local church chaired by the Pastor or the Head Elder in the absence of the Pastor.

I remember very well there was a recurring debate over the church janitor. There was a man who used to stay at the Church cottage—the house is still there even today. There was a very vocal woman within the church board advocating for the eviction of this man from the church house.

I don’t know the circumstances leading this man to be allowed to stay at the Church house, but tempers were high, and a lot of accusations were leveled against him, and so it was demanded that he must be evicted from the church house.

I remember vividly Pastor Pambana, who was our Pastor at the time, choosing to be neutral on the matter and tactfully avoiding putting the motion to a vote, and therefore no resolution was made on the topic.

Pastor Pambana was transferred and replaced by Pastor Mukandabvute. I was still a member of the Church Board. The same woman—she was a teacher at a local school—reignited the subject. She wanted this man to be evicted. She was given the opportunity to explain at one of the church Board meetings, and she had two or three supporters on the board, but Pastor Mukandabvute refused to allow the Board to pass a resolution on the matter. I believe the man is still staying put at the Church house until today.

Why must we hate each other? Why must we celebrate the suffering of our church mates? You profess to be Christians, yet you want to see a sixty-year-old man staying on the streets with his family while you sleep comfortably in your houses. The next Sabbath or Sunday, you want to preach a moving sermon about the love of Jesus. Oh shame!

God hates hypocrites! We must practice what we preach and aspire to have Christ-like characters—compassionate, merciful, considerate, loving, generous, sympathetic, and empathetic. We must know that we are “our brother’s keepers.”

I thank you.

Zivhu Swims in Succession Pool

By Tinashe Sambiri | In a startling declaration that has sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s political landscape, controversial Zanu PF member Killer Zivhu has boldly proclaimed the identity of the country’s future president. In a social media post, Zivhu hinted at an individual with a specific ancestral totem ascending to the highest office in the nation, sparking intense speculation and concern within the ruling party.

Zivhu’s statement, made on a platform known for its reach and influence, has been interpreted as a direct challenge to the current administration led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“Ane mutupo uyo, is the next President after varipo ikozvino, kuda kana kusada kwenyu,” Zivhu’s post read, loosely translated from Shona, Zimbabwe’s predominant language.

The implications of Zivhu’s revelation are profound, especially against the backdrop of ongoing political maneuvering within Zanu PF.

With discussions around extending President Mnangagwa’s term already contentious, Zivhu’s pronouncement could exacerbate internal divisions and fuel speculation about succession planning within the party.

Zivhu, known for his outspoken nature and occasional clashes with party leadership, has historically been a divisive figure.

His latest statement is expected to further strain relations with Zanu PF heavyweights who are keen to maintain stability and control over the party’s political agenda. Sources within the party have suggested that Zivhu’s remarks might lead to disciplinary action or further isolation within party ranks.

The timing of Zivhu’s declaration adds another layer of complexity to Zimbabwe’s political landscape, which has been marked by economic challenges and social unrest in recent years.

As the country navigates through a delicate phase of its democratic evolution, such statements from influential figures can influence public opinion and shape political discourse in unforeseen ways.

While Zivhu’s prediction remains speculative at this stage, its impact on the political climate in Zimbabwe cannot be understated.

As the nation braces itself for potential developments in the coming months, Zivhu’s words serve as a reminder of the fluidity and unpredictability of Zimbabwean politics, where allegiances and aspirations can quickly shift.

In response to inquiries regarding his statement, Zivhu remained steadfast, emphasizing his conviction without divulging further details.

“Ane mutupo uyo,” Zivhu reiterated, standing by his assertion as speculation continues to swirl within political circles and among the Zimbabwean populace.

As the situation unfolds, observers both within Zimbabwe and abroad will closely monitor developments within Zanu PF and broader political movements, keenly aware of the implications for the nation’s future leadership and stability.

Zivhu’s pronouncement has set the stage for a potentially transformative chapter in Zimbabwe’s political narrative, challenging established norms and setting the groundwork for future debates and decisions within the ruling party and beyond.

Zaka Blows USS200,000 On Rig

Zaka RDC Faces Scrutiny Over Unused $200,000 Drilling Rig Amidst Water Crisis

Zaka, Zimbabwe – The Zaka Rural District Council (RDC) is under fire after revelations that a water drilling rig, purchased over five years ago for more than US$200,000, has not drilled a single borehole. This comes amid an acute shortage of clean and safe water in the district, exacerbating public health concerns.

Rig – file copy

Last year, Zaka district experienced a severe cholera outbreak, leading to several deaths among villagers who relied on contaminated water sources such as rivers and unprotected wells. The crisis has brought the council’s management practices into sharp focus.

In a leaked letter to the Minister of Local Government and Public Works, councilors led by chairperson Fungai Maregedze exposed the inefficiencies and alleged mismanagement. The letter, dated June 7 and obtained by TellZim, claims the local authority bought the drilling rig in 2018, yet it has never been operational.

Chairperson Maregedze’s letter was a follow-up to an earlier communication dated May 20, in which the councilors sought ministerial intervention due to an impasse with the RDC management.

When contacted, Zaka RDC Chief Executive Officer David Majaura disputed the claims. Majaura stated that the procurement process began in 2021, not 2019 as alleged, and confirmed that five boreholes have since been drilled using the rig.

“The procurement started in 2021 and it took time to be delivered. It was said to be at a port in South Africa and was finally delivered at the end of 2023,” Majaura explained. “On testing, it was noted that it had parts vandalized while at the port, so the supplier took it for fixing. We were handed over the rig back in February this year and we have since drilled five boreholes. One is in Jerera, one in Charuka, another one at Charingeno Secondary, and two at Charingeno Primary School.”

However, Maregedze’s letter refutes these claims, emphasizing that the rig has not been used since its purchase. The councilors allege that whenever they question the management, they are accused of interference.

“The council bought a rig in 2018/19 and paid over or around US$200,000 but never drilled a single borehole up to today as they cite problems with the rig. When we tried to get clarification on that, the CEO then wrote to you saying we are interfering, yet we are playing our oversight role,” Maregedze wrote.

The letter also raised suspicions of corruption, particularly in how council properties such as community halls are being leased. Maregedze highlighted that Gain Wholesale has been renting a community hall since 2019, paying US$2,000 per month, yet there are no visible improvements to the vendor market as intended.

Minister Daniel Garwe has responded by dispatching a five-member team to investigate the various allegations and issues within the Zaka RDC.

The situation underscores a critical governance issue in Zaka RDC, with the local population bearing the brunt of administrative inefficiencies. The investigation’s findings will be crucial in addressing the accountability and functionality of the council, especially in providing essential services to the community.

Varakashi Impose Mnangagwa On Citizens

By A Correspondent

The Zanu PF Varakashi team has asserted that Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa remains a pivotal figure, despite ongoing allegations of opposition harassment.

“ED is the man of the moment, whether you like it or not.

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa is indeed leading, whether you know it or not.

If you want to dance, step into the rhumba rhythm,” Varakashi posted on Facebook last Saturday.

NetOne Employees Arrested for Attempted IT System Hack

Two employees of NetOne, Zimbabwe’s leading telecommunications provider, have been arrested and brought to court following an attempted hack of the company’s IT system. Brand officer Linda Mutemeri, 30, and billing engineer Anotida Dee Munyaradzi, 30, appeared before Harare magistrate Mr. Dennis Mangosi. The pair was remanded in custody pending their bail application today.

The State alleges that from February to July last year, Mutemeri and Munyaradzi conspired with Blessing Tizirai Mudarikwa, a known hacker who remains at large, to infiltrate the NetOne system and misappropriate funds.

According to court documents, the accused conducted WhatsApp conference calls to strategize on how to gain unauthorized access to the company’s IT system. These discussions laid the groundwork for their illegal activities, which involved sharing highly confidential and sensitive internal configurations of NetOne with Mudarikwa.

The State claims that Mutemeri and Munyaradzi connected their personal computers to the NetOne system from external locations. This unauthorized connection enabled Mudarikwa to penetrate the system. Fortunately, due to robust security measures, he was unable to access the pool account, which is a critical financial repository within the system.

Despite their failure to breach the pool account, the unauthorized access by the accused potentially compromised NetOne’s financial resources, posing a significant risk of financial loss. The State is treating this breach with utmost seriousness given the potential ramifications for the company and its customers.

In court, prosecutors emphasized the gravity of the alleged crimes, highlighting how the integrity of NetOne’s systems was jeopardized by the actions of Mutemeri, Munyaradzi, and their accomplice. The case underscores the ongoing challenges faced by organizations in protecting their digital infrastructure from internal and external threats.

NetOne has yet to issue an official statement regarding the arrests, but the incident has sparked concerns about the security measures in place to safeguard the company’s IT systems and financial assets.

As investigations continue, the telecommunications sector and the wider business community in Zimbabwe are closely watching the developments of this case, which highlights the critical importance of cybersecurity and the severe consequences of its breach.

Mnangagwa Son, Sean Name Used In Customs Evasion Scandal

A sophisticated smuggling syndicate has been uncovered using the name of Sean Mnangagwa, son of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, to bypass customs procedures and illegally import goods into Zimbabwe.

The government has issued a stern warning to individuals exploiting their proximity to the First Family for criminal activities and to those fraudulently invoking the names of family members. Authorities are prepared to enforce severe legal consequences for such actions, which will not be tolerated.

Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Mr. George Charamba, informed The Sunday Mail about the potential tightening of protocols for accessing the First Family. This measure aims to balance public accessibility with the protection of the family’s integrity amid rising abuse of their names for illicit purposes.

“It has come to the notice of the Office of the President and Cabinet that there are some criminals who are abusing the names of members of the First Family to do all sorts of unlawful things, including smuggling goods through various ports of entry,” Charamba said. “The latest victim has been Sean Mnangagwa, whose name has been dropped by these criminals in order to ensure that they secure safe passage for their contraband, thereby dodging rules of the country. That conduct is criminal and makes the perpetrators very liable.”

Sean Mnangagwa has confirmed the misuse of his name in multiple instances, highlighting the audacity and reach of these criminal activities. “Most of the cases involve people who call Government officials in my name. They call high offices, usually ambassadors, ministers and even parastatal executives, using my name or that of my brother, Collins. My name has been abused on several occasions,” he stated.

Mnangagwa detailed the modus operandi of the syndicate, explaining how they manipulate government officials by falsely claiming to be in urgent need of funds to clear trucks at the border. These fraudsters promise reimbursement in Harare after the money is paid, deceiving their victims out of substantial sums, sometimes as much as US$30,000 or more.

“They will say they have a truck at the border that needs money to be cleared. They claim to be in South Africa and ask for assistance in paying the clearance fees. They will lie that one of my associates will reimburse their money in Harare after they pay those huge amounts — sometimes as much as US$30,000 or more — which is taken using my name by those name-droppers. I want people to know this so that they do not get swindled of their money,” Sean Mnangagwa elaborated.

The government’s response to this scandal underscores a zero-tolerance policy towards the misuse of the First Family’s names and the exploitation of their influence for illegal activities. As investigations continue, the public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.- Agencies

Chamisa Calls For Immediate Release Of Political Prisoners

Tinashe Sambiri

In a recent development sparking widespread controversy, opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has strongly criticized President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration for the denial of bail to Jameson Timba and fellow opposition members.

The group was detained following their organization of an event commemorating the Day of the African Child.

The incident has drawn sharp condemnation from Chamisa, who voiced his concerns about the erosion of judicial independence under the current regime.

In a poignant statement released on Saturday, Chamisa articulated his stance:

“THE COURTS AS GUARANTORS OF RIGHTS AND LIBERTIES…The courts are the custodians, guardians and guarantors of justice. The last bastion of our collective dignity and sanity. Courts are entrusted to uphold fundamental rights and freedoms.

When they lose their independence and professionalism, they inevitably fail and fall short in this duty. And when they do so, they inadvertently surrender the frontiers of justice, rights and fundamental freedoms to beasts who cannibalize the innocent and feast on citizens liberties. The right to bail is one fundamental right that must never be compromised, negated or undermined. We will fix all this in no time! #NewDawn #ForEveryone”

Chamisa’s words underscored the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the importance of upholding constitutional rights, including the right to bail.

He criticized what he perceives as an encroachment on judicial integrity, arguing that such actions undermine justice and erode the foundation of democratic principles.

The denial of bail to political activists like Jameson Timba has sparked protests and calls for reform within Zimbabwe, with many accusing the government of using legal means to suppress dissenting voices.

The incident has once again brought international attention to Zimbabwe’s human rights record, prompting calls for Mnangagwa’s administration to uphold the rule of law and respect fundamental freedoms.

As the political landscape in Zimbabwe continues to evolve, Chamisa’s outspoken stance against perceived injustices reflects a broader sentiment among opposition circles and civil society advocates.

His vow to “fix all this in no time” signals a commitment to challenging what he views as a systemic undermining of democratic institutions.

The unfolding events surrounding the denial of bail to Timba and his colleagues serve as a stark reminder of the challenges facing Zimbabwe’s democratic journey.

As calls for justice grow louder, the spotlight remains on Mnangagwa’s government to address concerns over civil liberties and ensure a fair and transparent judicial process for all citizens.

CIO Pays $1 Million To Tshabangu To Topple Chamisa

By Political Reporter- Self-imposed Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary-general, Sengezo Tshabangu, has been unmasked as a covert operative working with the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) to undermine Nelson Chamisa and other top CCC officials.

Tshabangu collaborated with retired brigadier-general Walter Tapfumaneyi, deputy director-general of the CIO and leader of the Forever Associates Zimbabwe (FAZ), an organisation implicated in helping Zanu PF rig the 23 August 2023 general election.

David Mnangagwa Had Opened Investigation on Chivayo Before Home Attacked By Mystery Fire, Bullets-Spread

By Special Correspondent | ZimEye | Deputy Finance Minister David Mnangagwa opened an investigation on tender-preneur Wicknell Chivayo, shortly before bullets were found in his home, ZimEye is told.

Impeccable sources speaking with ZimEye reveal that David Kuda Mnangagwa is not at all First Lady Auxillia’s son. He is the child of one of Mugabe-minister, Ignatious Chombo’s late sisters.

David is inside the Mnangagwa clan viewed as the most stable in character, having trained in the US; It is a play within a play because while there are factions inside, there are factions outside, records show.

Some of Emmerson Mnangagwa’s sons

While Auxillia’s male twins wield significant state influence, Kuda is the most placed to take over power as the kingpin of all cartels, and his boss Mthuli Ncube is more a servant to him as he (the latter) has always been a manager of president Emmerson Mnangagwa’s businesses. Mthuli Ncube is Mnangagwa’s personal employee in the sense of practice.

These are the complexities surrounding the fire that attacked David Mnangagwa two days ago, plus the three bullets found near his bedroom door.

David is the centrepiece of the movement of money, a source further tells ZimEye.

“Soon after the Chivayo audio leaks had surfaced, David was internally tasked to investigate him, even though the role is not publicly announced, a source told ZimEye.

Efforts to get a comment from the Deputy Minister were fruitless at the time of writing.

Chivayo was still respond to requests for comment at the time of writing.

His welfare is now a major national security concern. In a series of alarming events, the son of the Head of State, has found himself at the center of a security investigation after a fire gutted his home and bullets were discovered on the property days before.

Hon. David Mnangagwa

The fire, which broke out two days ago, caused extensive damage to the Mnangagwa residence. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have been deliberately set, although investigations are ongoing.

In a disturbing turn, unspent bullets were found scattered inside the Borrowdale home and on the lawn. This discovery has heightened concerns about the nature of the incident, prompting an immediate and thorough investigation by state security agencies.

Police have not yet determined the source or intent behind the bullets, but the incident has raised significant security questions.

While no injuries were reported, and David Mnangagwa is said to be cooperating fully with the investigation, there are 3 scenarios:

1. David is the nucleus inside many convolutions inside the scramble for state resources and the management of public funds.
2. He is also beholden to two women who are sisters, who may be fighting.
3. Eye witnesses say they saw the fire coming from within.
4. Internally in government he is not a favourite with the likes of George Guvamatanga because he is delaying or blocking many private deals. He is the internal stop of many explosions. If it wasn’t for him, there would be many scandals. The development suggests there are now many loopholes that can be manipulated.
5. There are factional fights inside ZANU PF.
6. Some sources make sensational suggestions that there is a spiritual dimension. This group says the fire was the cause of supernatural forces.-ZimEye

Bubi MP, Simelisizwe Sibanda owes Teachers and the Nation An Apology

By Dr Takavafira M. Zhou | It is with utmost shock and disbelief that we have learnt of the rogue and thuggish behaviour of Bubi Mp, Simelisizwe Sibanda, against an ECD female teacher, Winnet Mharadze, at Clonnmore Primary School on 24 June 2024. The MP and apparently Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology interrogated the teacher why she was teaching in Matabeleland merely because she has a Shona surname. The teacher who appears petrified in the audio received a barage of questions merely because of her ethnic identity. The MP gave the teacher a summary dismissal and ordered the School head to ensure that he facilitates the dismissal forthwith.

Fundamentally, Sibanda as a Deputy Minister must have treated the teacher in a professional manner, rather than denigrating and dehumanizing her in public. If the Mp thought he had enough reasons to query the deployment of the teacher he could have raised the issue through his counterparts in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education. Worse still the Mp seems to be ignorant of how teachers are transferred by his assumption that he or the head, Sifiso Buhlungu, has power to summarily transfer a teacher in a manner reminiscent of the colonial Master and Servant scenario.

As Ptuz we want to reiterate that ZANU-PF needs to reign on their rogue and errant Mp who lacks educational taxonomy and professional ethics, and is a danger to our society at large. The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education needs to give this thuggish MP tutorials on professionalism and Ubuntu/Unhu. The Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education also needs to call Sibanda to order for bringing the name of the Ministry into disrepute and disrespect.

Zimbabweans need to celebrate their unity in diversity and we expect Mps and Ministers to be flag bearers of this. We don’t expect them to behave like beasts. At any rate the difference between human beings and other animals is their ability to reason in a rational manner. But when those we expect to be more reasonable by virtue of their positions in society behave like beasts, we wonder whether they have become dogs or dogs have become Mps and Ministers.

We also want to deflate the Minister’s colonial binary and falsehood of the Shona and Ndebele. We have more than 20 languages in Zimbabwe and the reductionist perception of just the Shona and Ndebele must be thrown outside the window. It is dangerous to be parochial or harbour feelings of the locality against feelings of nationality. It is dangerous to look for Shona weaknesses or Ndebele weaknesses, etc, behind every rubbish bin in a school.

We also want to remind the Mp that he is certainly operating in unfamiliar terrain, and must forthwith never visit any school. A threat to any teacher anywhere is a threat to all teachers everywhere. We will not take the insult of Winnet Mharadze lightly and demand an unconditional apology as a matter of urgency.

Guvamatanga 30% Bribe Payments for Every Govt Transaction

By D Raymond Chamba | Following a long two week, wait, Finance And Economic Ministry Permanent Secretary George Guvamatanga is still to comment over serious allegations of charging 10% for every government contract payment.

The net has tightened up, with fresh reports citing he is now charging over 30% per transaction.

“He has escalated the tollgate to 30% on account of low supply of foreign currency, anokuti mari haisikufamba, hakuna mari, so if you want to recrive, you have to pay 30%,” a source tells ZimEye.

George Guvamatanga

Intelligence reports point to a souring relations between him and his boss, David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa, the latter who is having a hard time putting a check to alleged corruption in the treasury.

To some inside observers it comes as no surprise that the Deputy Minister is a victim of many unexplained incidents at his home.

This could well be a sustained revenge attack from a corrupt cartel, a source suggested to ZimEye.

By all indications, David Mnangagwa is not only an astute professsional and noted intellectual, but perhaps the most upright person in the Mnangagwa clan, an observer said.

George Guvamatanga

Guvamatanga has a well known private office in Ballantyne Park where he levies people between 10%-30% for the release of their funds from any government business, on account of shortages of foreign currency.

Guvamatanga was appointed to his current position in September, 2018. Preliminary and conservative financial estimates would point to a net corruption loss of not less than USD$20 billion.

Mnangagwa Soldier Son In ‘Fuel Scandal’

By Political Reporter- The government has reacted to allegations that President Emmerson Mnagagwa’s soldier son, Sean, is involved in field corruption.

Release Political Prisoners, Chamisa Tells Mnangagwa

War Vets Rubbish Mnangagwa

By Political Reporter- Former liberation war fighters under the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA) have called President Emmerson Mnangagwa to order, urging him to respect citizens.

This warning comes after the government threatened to clamp down on people, accusing them of engaging in subversive activities.

ZNLWVA Chairperson Andreas Ethan Mathibela told reporters in Bulawayo on Friday that the government must stop making “idle threats” against its people and instead address the issues causing citizens to voice their discontent.

Acting Home Affairs Minister Jenfan Muswere Friday threatened those engaging in “subversive activities,” stating that “their days are numbered.”

Muswere accused the opposition, some politicians, and certain Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) of attempting to “instigate anarchy and despondency.”

However, Mathibela argued that the government should focus on national issues rather than threaten imaginary enemies. He stated:
“We must deal with national issues. A security threat comes as a result of an uneven playing field by the government, where it partially accepts some and admits others as friends while deeming others as enemies. As long as there’s that kind of subtle division, unity of purpose will not prevail.”

Mathibela emphasised that war veterans are not engaging in subversive activities by demanding accountability from the government. He said:
“Whatever we are doing is open. We invite all, including the security cluster, to attend our meetings because the agenda will be very clear. I trained for many years in security, and I know the definition of subversion. For someone who is not pleased, someone who feels threatened, he or she will deem challenges as subversive. I think that is a misnomer. We are not threatening the government of this country, even the ruling party, or any other political party in this country. All we are saying is that this country is not doing well economically, politically, and socially, and we want to be part of the solution. We have even come up with some solutions to collaborate with the government. We wrote many letters. I recall one to the president (Emmerson Mnangagwa) to say we would want to work with the government. We were not responded to.”

Muswere accused unnamed opposition politicians and CSOs of attempting to foment chaos in the country to solicit funds from foreign donors and revive their waning careers. He said:
“As the government, we are warning perpetrators of these serial choreographed theatrics who are involved in subversive activities aimed at undermining the rule of law that their days are numbered and that their lawless plans will never see the light of day.”
