2 ZRP Cops Share Stolen USD107,000

Harare, Zimbabwe – In a dramatic turn of events, Marvellous Mapfumo, a 34-year-old maid from Chitungwiza, has pleaded guilty to stealing US$107,000 from her Chinese employer, Mr. Sisi Lin, an accountant at Tian-tian Fresh Mart Supermarket. Mapfumo, who is set to be sentenced today, shared the stolen money with two police officers who have since gone on the run.

The court heard that Mr. Lin habitually kept large sums of money in a drawer in his bedroom. Mapfumo, while cleaning, noticed the accumulating funds and confided in her boyfriend, Herbert Chikwiza Kurebgwaseka. Kurebgwaseka advised her to wait until a substantial amount had accumulated before executing the theft.

On May 30, Mapfumo stole the full US$107,000 from Mr. Lin. She then shared the money with Kurebgwaseka and another police officer, Paul Kondo, who had promised to protect her. The two officers took US$60,000, while Mapfumo retained US$47,000.

Kurebgwaseka subsequently took possession of Mapfumo’s share, claiming it was for her protection as he suspected they were being tracked by detectives. After her arrest near Bulawayo while attempting to flee the country, Mapfumo was taken back to CID Highlands in Harare, where she implicated Kurebgwaseka and Kondo in the crime.

Further investigations revealed that Kondo had taken Mapfumo to his girlfriend’s house in Sunningdale, restricting her from communicating with others while he arranged for her to escape to South Africa. Between May 30 and June 11, Mapfumo stayed with Kondo’s girlfriend, who later helped her find a rental property in Glen View 3 and purchased some household items for her.

On June 12, 2024, detectives from CID Nkulumane in Bulawayo received a tip from three sources indicating that Mapfumo had boarded a truck heading to South Africa via Botswana. Acting on this information, the detectives intercepted the truck and arrested Mapfumo. Authorities have since seized the property purchased with the stolen money and a Honda Fit owned by Kondo, which was used in the commission of the crime.

As Mapfumo faces her sentencing, the search for Kurebgwaseka and Kondo continues, with the police urging anyone with information about their whereabouts to come forward.- Agencies

Bus Accident Passion Link Coach Owner Faces Arrest

By Dorrothy Moyo | The tragic incident involving Passion Link Coaches, which resulted in the deaths of eight Anglican Church pilgrims, raises significant legal issues concerning road safety and vehicle maintenance regulations. Transport Minister Felix Mhona’s confirmation that the bus was unroadworthy and lacked a certificate of fitness implicates both the owner and the driver in serious legal violations.

Minister Mhona said “the bus was unroadworthy and was being driven without a certificate of fitness.”

He suggested that the company owner and the driver will be prosecuted.

Legal Framework and Liability

Vehicle Fitness and Roadworthiness

Under most jurisdictions, including Zimbabwe’s Road Traffic Act, it is illegal to operate a vehicle that is not roadworthy. A certificate of fitness is a mandatory requirement, ensuring that vehicles meet safety standards. Failure to obtain and maintain this certificate can result in severe penalties.

Case Law Examples

  1. R v. Campbell (1970): In this case, the owner of a commercial vehicle was prosecuted after an accident revealed that the vehicle was unroadworthy. The court held the owner liable for failing to ensure the vehicle was maintained to a safe standard, resulting in a conviction for negligence.
  2. S v. Dhlamini (1992): Here, the driver of a passenger bus was found guilty of culpable homicide after a crash that killed several passengers. The investigation revealed that the bus had significant mechanical defects. The court ruled that the driver had a duty to ensure the vehicle was in a roadworthy condition before operating it.
  3. Mutasa v. The State (2014): In a similar Zimbabwean case, the Supreme Court upheld the conviction of a bus company owner whose vehicle, lacking a proper certificate of fitness, was involved in a fatal accident. The court emphasized the owner’s responsibility to comply with vehicle safety regulations.

Specific Charges and Legal Consequences

Manslaughter or Culpable Homicide

Both the owner and the driver of Passion Link Coaches could face charges of culpable homicide, given that their negligence directly contributed to the deaths of the pilgrims. Culpable homicide is charged when an individual’s unlawful act or omission results in death, and it carries severe penalties, including imprisonment.

Negligence and Duty of Care

The owner has a legal duty to ensure that all vehicles in their fleet are maintained and certified as fit for use. This includes regular inspections and obtaining the necessary certificates. The driver also has a duty to verify the vehicle’s fitness before operating it. Failing to fulfill these duties constitutes negligence.

Civil Liability

In addition to criminal charges, the victims’ families may pursue civil claims for damages against both the owner and the driver. They could seek compensation for wrongful death, loss of support, and other related damages. Civil courts often look at similar precedents when awarding damages:

  • Ngcobo v. Santam Insurance Co Ltd (1996): The court awarded substantial damages to the family of a deceased passenger, emphasizing the operator’s duty to ensure vehicle safety.

Government and Regulatory Implications

This incident highlights the need for stricter enforcement of road safety regulations. The Transport Ministry may need to review and enhance its inspection and compliance mechanisms to prevent such tragedies in the future. Legislative amendments might be considered to impose harsher penalties on those who flout safety regulations.

The prosecution of the owner and driver of Passion Link Coaches serves as a critical reminder of the serious responsibilities held by vehicle operators and owners. Legal precedents underscore the gravity of maintaining roadworthy vehicles and complying with safety standards to protect public safety. The outcomes of this case will likely have significant implications for road safety enforcement and regulatory policies in Zimbabwe.

20 Chamisa Aides Arrested

Political Reporter- Police in Harare have arrested 20 political activists, including Jameson Timba.

Timba is the chief administrator of a CCC faction whose members are said to be close to Chamisa. They quit the party in January of this year, alleging infiltration by the ZANU PF-led government.

Their lawyer, Agency Gumbo, said Timba, his son and more than 40 youths were attending a private June 16 Youth Day meeting on Sunday at his residence in Avondale, Harare, when they were arrested. Said Gumbo:

Hon Timba and the youths were severely beaten and injured. Timba and 20 others are presently detained at Avondale Police whilst the other group has been taken to Harare Central Police Station. We demand the immediate release of our champions. They violated no law. Their arrest is a human rights issue!

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrests.

He said:

I can confirm that 70 suspects were arrested at Jameson Timba’s house in Harare for conducting an unsanctioned gathering.

During the arrests, they became violent and started throwing stones at the police officers. Reinforcements were later called in.

Youth Day is a national holiday in South Africa which falls on June 16. Youth Day is in commemoration of the contribution that young people made to the struggle for freedom in South Africa.

On June 16, 1976, schoolchildren marched in a protest that began the Soweto Uprising. The uprising was a major event in the struggle against apartheid in South Africa. Youth Day is also known as Soweto Day.

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS….

By Dr Raymond Chamba | It gives some hope that there are still some adults and committed patriots on the room amidst the descend into orgies of unbridled public corruption that reaches to the highest levels and stinks to the high heavens. May the response of ZACC and other state security organs be instructive and decisive.

The importance of meticulously documenting acts of gross corruption cannot be over-emphasized as the days of reckoning are certain and drawing near. Zimbabwe- the nation, is far too important and too big to readily and without consequence fit into the dirty pockets of the political mad dogs ? in our midst.

Chivhayo Goes Into Hidding

By Political Reporter- The Zimbabwe Anti-corruption Commission (ZACC) has confirmed searching for Zanu PF sympathiser and controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo concerning a series of corruption cases involving hundreds of millions of dollars.

Chivhayo has been bragging that he is getting fraudulent government tenders through the help of President Emmerson Mnangagwa and several senior government officials, including the head of the dreaded Central Intelligence Organisation, CIO, Isaac Moyo.

Michael Reza, the ZACC chairperson, told reporters in Harare Monday that they launched a manhunt on Chivhayo:

“I want Zimbabweans to know that we have not been sitting on this. We have collected certain information. When we go to court and look at Form 242, you will see detailed information with facts, figures and numbers. So far, we have 3 names featured: Mike Chimombe, Moses Mpofu and Wicknell Chivhayo. If other names pop up during investigations , we will pursue those.

War Vets Dump Mnangagwa

By Political Reporter- A group of disgruntled former liberation fighters has floated the idea of forming a political party.

Their primary organisation, the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Veterans Association (ZNLWVA), is concerned that some members plan to transform the association into a political party to challenge Zanu PF in future elections.

Inspired by former South African President Jacob Zuma, who formed the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK Party) which contested the 29 May general elections and denied the ruling African National Congress (ANC) a governing majority, these war veterans are also against President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s intentions to extend his mandate beyond the two-term constitutional limit.

The faction, led by Moffat Marashwa, walked out of a meeting held in Harare last Monday to discuss various issues affecting ex-combatants.

They claimed the meeting was being used to prepare for the formation of an opposition party. The meeting was co-chaired by War Veterans Minister Monica Mavhunga and acting Public Service Minister Lovemore Matuke.

National executive members of another ZNLWVA faction, such as Andrease Mathibela, Dadirai Gijimana, and Edward Dube, attended the meeting, along with Douglas Mahiya, the ZANU PF War Veterans League national secretary in the politburo.

In a communique dated June 11, 2024, seen by The Standard, Marashwa updated members of his faction, stating:
“The meeting was intended to inform us of a roadmap they had planned to hold an illegal national congress of the ZNLWVA on an unknown date. Comrade Marashwa’s delegates walked out of the meeting after realizing that the meeting was intended to convert the ZNLWVA into a political party, like what happened in South Africa where MK challenged ANC in the recent elections. As your national executive committee, we are going to resist any actions intended to divert the ZNLWVA founding objectives of improving the welfare of our members.”
Mathibela, who leads a ZNLWVA camp not affiliated with ZANU PF, confirmed the meeting but denied claims of plotting to form a new political party.

“There is no element of truth in that. We are just talking about the state of the nation where we pray things could change for the better for all Zimbabweans as currently, Zimbabwe is not functional.”

Empowering Africa’s Future: Day of the African Child 2024 Spotlights Urgency for Universal Education”

In 2024, the Day of the African Child resonates with a powerful call to action: “Education for all children in Africa: the time is now.”

This theme, perfectly aligned with the African Union’s dedicated Year of Education, underscores the continent’s commitment to transforming educational landscapes. At its core, the goal is to fortify resilient education systems that guarantee inclusive, lifelong, high-quality, and relevant learning opportunities for all African children.

Education stands as the cornerstone of development and progress, shaping generations and fostering socio-economic advancements across the continent. However, Africa faces multifaceted challenges in ensuring universal access to education.

These include infrastructure gaps, socio-economic disparities, cultural barriers, and, notably, the enduring impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on learning continuity. Despite these hurdles, the resolve to enhance educational outcomes remains unwavering.

The African Union’s Year of Education serves as a pivotal platform to recalibrate strategies, amplify initiatives, and mobilize resources towards achieving comprehensive educational goals. Central to this effort is the pursuit of inclusivity, ensuring that no child is left behind due to gender, disability, geographical location, or socio-economic status. By prioritizing inclusivity, African nations aim to harness the full potential of their youthful populations, fostering environments where every child can thrive and contribute meaningfully to society.

Moreover, the emphasis on lifelong learning underscores the importance of adaptable educational systems that equip learners with skills relevant to the evolving demands of the global economy. This approach not only prepares youth for employment but also nurtures entrepreneurship, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities essential for sustainable development.

Quality education goes hand in hand with relevance. It requires curricula that reflect African contexts, histories, and aspirations, promoting cultural pride and a sense of identity among learners. By embedding these elements into educational frameworks, African nations cultivate a generation empowered to tackle local and global challenges with ingenuity and resilience.

The Day of the African Child in 2024 serves as a poignant reminder of the imperative to accelerate progress towards educational equity. It beckons governments, civil society organizations, educators, parents, and stakeholders at large to redouble their efforts in advancing policies and practices that guarantee every child’s right to education. Collaboration across sectors is crucial in fostering environments conducive to learning, where partnerships forge pathways for sustainable development and prosperity.

As we celebrate the Day of the African Child in 2024 under the banner of “Education for all children in Africa: the time is now,” let us reaffirm our commitment to nurturing the potential of every African child.

By investing in education today, we sow the seeds for a prosperous tomorrow, where Africa’s youth stand as drivers of innovation, progress, and positive change on the global stage.

According to the sources, Chivayo previously enjoyed special privileges, such as being exempt from routine security searches when entering State House. However, the recent controversy has led to a complete reversal of this leniency.

The exact reasons behind the special treatment initially accorded to Chivayo remain unclear, but his current ban marks a significant shift in his standing with the State House.

In a related development, an influential female official associated with the MenBelievED movement has also reportedly been banned alongside Chivayo.

The official’s identity has not been disclosed, but her involvement suggests a broader crackdown following the audio leak incident.

Richard Tsvangirai Revives Dad’s Legacy…

By A Correspondent

Richard Tsvangirai, Member of Parliament for Norton and son of the late Morgan Tsvangirai, is being closely watched as he steps into his father’s formidable shoes within Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

Morgan Tsvangirai, remembered as the founding president of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) and a staunch advocate against Zanu PF’s regime, left a significant imprint on Zimbabwean politics through his unwavering stance against brutality and oppression.

Observers now speculate whether Richard Tsvangirai is beginning to revive and carry forward his father’s legacy.

The younger Tsvangirai has been noted for his emerging leadership qualities, with some suggesting parallels to his father’s boldness in confronting political challenges.

Reflecting on a recent encounter, a young Zimbabwean, Tatenda, shared his impressions of Richard Tsvangirai, describing him as a humble leader.

“It was a pleasure meeting Honourable Richard Tsvangirayi,” Tatenda remarked. “Your Facebook pictures make you look taller than you actually are in person. Well, dynamite comes in small packages.”

As Richard Tsvangirai continues to navigate his political journey, many eyes remain on him to see how he will shape and uphold the principles and vision set forth by his late father in the struggle for democracy and justice in Zimbabwe.

Zuma Unites With Malema Against DA, ANC

South Africa’s uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) party has announced its decision to join an alliance of smaller opposition parties in parliament to challenge the coalition government led by the African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA). This move, aimed at creating a “Progressive Caucus” alongside the Marxist Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the centre-left United Democratic Movement, was announced by Nhlamulo Ndhlela, MK’s spokesperson.

The ANC, after three decades of dominance, recently formed a coalition with the DA, resulting in a “government of national unity.” This coalition comes after the ANC’s vote share plummeted from 57.5% in 2019 to 39.7% in the 2024 elections, securing only 159 out of 400 seats in the National Assembly . Christopher Vandome, a senior research fellow at Chatham House, highlights the challenges this new coalition faces: “The ANC is creaking at the seams and wounded by the success of Jacob Zuma’s MK. Alliance with the DA may be tricky to sell to party members” .

The Progressive Caucus, which holds nearly 30% of the seats in the National Assembly, aims to counter what they see as the rise of right-wing forces opposed to economic freedom, radical economic transformation, racial equality, and land repossession. Ndhlela stressed the importance of this united effort and indicated that the MK party plans to raise its allegations of a rigged election in both parliament and the courts, despite the Independent Electoral Commission declaring the election free and fair.

Former President Jacob Zuma, a prominent figure in the MK party, criticized the ANC-DA unity government, calling it “meaningless” and an “unholy alliance” led by white interests. Vandome adds that the internal dynamics of the ANC, a broad church with various factions, will significantly impact coalition negotiations: “The party is not a unitary force… each with separate views on who a preferred coalition partner should be” . This internal friction could either lead to a new environment of negotiation and consensus-building or create serious disruption and dysfunction in South African politics.

The formation of the Progressive Caucus and the entry of MK into parliamentary politics mark a significant shift. Vandome observes, “The rise of MK has allowed ANC top brass to blame their electoral underperformance solely on MK and not on their own governance record,” potentially enabling the ANC to reform and rejuvenate its core principles . However, the success and stability of these new political alignments remain uncertain as South Africa navigates this complex transition.- Agencies

Spain Bury Croatia

Spain made an emphatic start to their quest to win a fourth European Championship with an impressive victory over Croatia at Olympiastadion Berlin.

First-half goals by Alvaro Morata, Fabian Ruiz and Dani Carvajal essentially settled the outcome before the break and, although Croatia offered little, this must still go down as a statement win for La Roja.

Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal became the youngest player in men’s Euros history when he started the game at the age of 16 years and 338 days, but it was Spain’s most experienced player who gave them the lead, silencing the Croatia fans who poured into Germany’s capital this weekend.

Ruiz collected the ball on the halfway line and had time to look up and thread a perfect pass for Morata to gallop through and slot past Dominik Livakovic for his 36th goal for his country.

After waiting almost half an hour for the breakthrough, Luis de la Fuente’s side took just over three minutes to extend their lead.

This time, it was Ruiz who found the net, beating two men when he was fed the ball on the edge of the area and firing in a shot that nicked off Josip Sutalo on its way past Livakovic.

Croatia came close to pulling a goal back when Josko Gvardiol’s drilled shot beat Unai Simon but also eluded Ante Budimir, who tried to divert it in as it flew wide of the far post.

But Spain continued to attack and wrapped up the points in first-half stoppage time when Yamal’s cross was turned home by Carvajal, who had stayed up following a corner.

A goal for the teenager to go with that assist was all that was missing, with Livakovic superbly denying him from close range early in the second half.

Croatia’s disappointing day got even worse when Bruno Petkovic saw his late penalty saved by Simon and then the video assistant referee disallowed his follow-up for encroachment into the area.

The 2022 World Cup semi-finalists must try to kickstart their Group B campaign when they face Albania in Hamburg on Thursday, the same day Spain face holders Italy in a mouth-watering clash in Gelsenkirchen.

Police Disrupt Pro-Chamisa Gathering

Heavily armed police in Harare have today disrupted a Day of African Child commemorations program organized by pro-Nelson Chamisa youths. Borrowing from the apartheid book, the riotous police descended heavily on unsuspecting Harare youths and injured and arrested a number of youths in the process. To justify their evil acts the police crafted a fake message lying that National Youth Taskforce leader, Takudzwa Ngadziore has called for demonstration.

Demonstrations yes, but they will come at our own planning. We demand for the immediate release of champions who were unjustifiably arrested for remembering our brothers and sisters who were butchered by the apartheid regime in South Africa.

Wicknell Chivayo Publicly Reveals: I’m A Well Feathered-Drug-Dealer, Who’s Already Poisoned Mnangagwa’s Brain Cells (Dzvanya-d Him) kuti-Dzviii!

Convicted Money Launderer Wicknell Chivayo Boasts of Connections with Drug Dealer and Claims to Have Poisoned President Mnangagwa in Leaked Audio.

Planned Vice Presidency with Bushiri And Angel.

The probability of Chivayo poisoning President Mnangagwa to weaken his decision-making abilities.

– 2nd cluster of drugs and chemicals.

– 2nd cluster of drugs and chemicals.

By Investigations Reporter | ZimEye | Harare, Zimbabwe – June 16, 2024 | In a shocking turn of events, convicted money launderer Wicknell Chivayo has made headlines once again with his audacious claims and incriminating associations. Recently leaked audios have revealed Chivayo boasting about his connections and influence over President Emmerson Mnangagwa, sparking widespread concern and controversy.

Chivayo, who has been previously convicted for money laundering and other financial crimes, has a history of flaunting his dubious connections and wealth on social media. A recent Instagram post featured Chivayo with an array of firearms, captioned with a braggadocious claim about being a “gangstar” in various high-profile locations such as New York and the South of France. Another post on Twitter by a user named Prophet DrCde Prof Madzibaba Adamksi showcased Chivayo with convicted drug kingpin Glen Agliotti, captioned “Birds of the same feathers,” further cementing his self-styled gangster image.

Emmerson Mnangagwa brain attack simulated graphic

However, the most alarming revelation comes from the recently leaked audios, where Chivayo is heard declaring that he has “captured” President Mnangagwa. In the audios, Chivayo claims, “Ndakachiti Dziii!” implying that he has successfully ensnared the president. These audios have opened a pandora’s box of questions regarding the extent of Chivayo’s influence and the potential implications for Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

In light of these revelations, there is growing concern that President Mnangagwa’s decision-making abilities might have become sedated or intoxicated by Chivayo’s influence. The possibility that a convicted criminal could exert such control over the nation’s highest office raises serious questions about the integrity and independence of the president’s leadership. Speculations are rife that Chivayo could have drugged the president to weaken his decision-making capabilities, further intensifying the gravity of the situation.

The implications of Chivayo’s claims are profound, given his criminal background and the potential threat such influence poses to the integrity of the nation’s leadership. The audios suggest a level of manipulation and control over the president that, if true, could undermine the very foundation of Zimbabwe’s governance.

Political analysts and opposition leaders have called for an immediate and thorough investigation into Chivayo’s claims. They argue that such revelations, if left unchecked, could erode public trust in the presidency and the broader governmental institutions.

“This is a matter of national security and integrity. The president must address these allegations transparently,” said a leading opposition figure. “The public deserves to know the truth about these serious claims.”

President Mnangagwa’s office has yet to issue an official response to the leaked audios and Chivayo’s statements. However, sources within the government indicate that an internal review and investigation may be underway to ascertain the veracity of Chivayo’s claims and the potential security breaches they suggest.

Planned Vice Presidency with Bushiri And Angel.

Wicknell Chivayo, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and criminal record, has publicly stated as far back as 2014 that he would one day be made Vice President of Zimbabwe. His ambitions seemed far-fetched at the time, but recent events and historical forecasts are painting a different picture.

In a 2015 article by the State Media’s Sunday Mail titled “Wicknell Turns to Prophets,” the future of African state power was eerily predicted, suggesting that the continent would see an increase in influence by so-called “fake prophets” and financial criminals. The article highlighted Chivayo’s close ties with prominent figures like Shepherd Bushiri and Uebert Angel, both of whom have since gained significant political and social influence in Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.

Shepherd Bushiri and Uebert Angel, two controversial prophets, have made headlines not only for their religious influence but also for their increasing sway over state affairs. Their predictions and the roles they have played in recent years are now being re-evaluated in light of Chivayo’s own rise and his ominous claims about his future in Zimbabwean politics.

A recently leaked audio recording has Chivayo boasting about his capture of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, using the phrase “Ndakachiti Dziii!”—implying he has ensnared the president. This, combined with his historical statements about becoming Vice President and his connections to powerful prophets, has led to speculation about the extent of his influence and his potential methods.

The probability of Chivayo poisoning President Mnangagwa to weaken his decision-making abilities

The probability of Chivayo poisoning President Mnangagwa to weaken his decision-making abilities and position himself for political power is a disturbing but plausible scenario. Given his criminal background, past statements, and the strategic alliances he has formed, analysts are now considering the likelihood of such a plot.Adding to the intrigue are Chivayo’s ties to British money launderers, including Joseph Mhaka, and his role as a runner for these notorious convicts. His connections to international criminal networks further complicate the picture and raise concerns about the extent of his reach and influence.

The Sunday Mail article from 2015 foresaw a new age of state power dominated by dubious figures and foretold Chivayo’s rise. As these predictions come closer to reality, the public is left questioning the integrity of their leadership and the potential for manipulative power plays behind the scenes.

The implications of these revelations are profound, calling for an immediate and thorough investigation into Chivayo’s claims and actions. The potential threat to national security and the stability of Zimbabwe’s governance structure cannot be overstated.

While Chivayo was still to comment over these serious allegations and ZimEye’s questions remained unanswered at the time of writing, the following was a list of two large clusters of intoxicating drugs speculated.

### Dangerous Poisons That Could Be Used to Poison a Leader’s Brain Cells

In the context of concerns regarding the potential poisoning of a political leader to impair their decision-making abilities, it is important to be aware of specific dangerous substances that can affect brain function. The following is the first list cluster of notable high level poisons that could target brain cells:

1. **Polonium-210:**
– **Effect:** This highly radioactive substance can cause severe damage to internal organs, including the brain, leading to neurological impairment.

– **Usage:** Historically used as a rat poison, it can be administered in food or drink.

3. **Mercury:**
– **Effect:** Chronic exposure to mercury can result in mercury poisoning, which severely affects the brain and nervous system.
– **Symptoms:** Memory loss, cognitive dysfunction, tremors, and personality changes.
– **Usage:** Can be introduced through contaminated food or inhalation of vapors.

4. **Arsenic:**
– **Effect:** While known for causing acute poisoning, chronic exposure to lower doses can lead to cognitive decline and confusion.
– **Symptoms:** Abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, and in severe cases, delirium and seizures.
– **Usage:** Can be hidden in food, drink, or even inhaled.

5. **Sarin:**
– **Effect:** This potent nerve agent inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, leading to an accumulation of acetylcholine in the nervous system, causing overstimulation of nerves.
– **Symptoms:** Convulsions, paralysis, and loss of consciousness.
– **Usage:** Typically used in chemical warfare, but could be deployed in targeted attacks.

6. **Botulinum Toxin:**
– **Effect:** One of the most potent toxins known, it inhibits the release of acetylcholine, leading to muscle paralysis and potential respiratory failure.
– **Symptoms:** Difficulty swallowing, muscle weakness, and respiratory distress.
– **Usage:** Can be administered through contaminated food or injection.

7. **Cyanide:**
– **Effect:** Rapidly interferes with the body’s ability to use oxygen, effectively suffocating cells, including those in the brain.
– **Symptoms:** Dizziness, headache, seizures, and loss of consciousness.
– **Usage:** Often used in gas form or dissolved in a liquid.

### Preventive Measures

Given the potential threat these substances pose, it is critical for leaders and their security teams to:

– **Regularly test food and drink** for contamination.
– **Employ chemical detection devices** in areas where the leader resides or frequents.
– **Monitor health** for early symptoms of poisoning and have medical professionals on standby.
– **Ensure a secure supply chain** for all consumables.

2. **Barbiturates:**
– **Examples:** Phenobarbital, Secobarbital (Seconal), Pentobarbital (Nembutal).
– **Effect:** These sedative-hypnotic drugs can cause profound drowsiness, confusion, and impaired decision-making.
– **Usage:** Used for anesthesia, seizure control, and anxiety relief, though they have a high potential for abuse.

3. **Opioids:**
– **Examples:** Morphine, Oxycodone (OxyContin), Fentanyl, Heroin.
– **Effect:** Opioids can cause sedation, euphoria, and significant cognitive impairment, affecting judgment and decision-making.
– **Usage:** Prescribed for pain relief, but misuse and addiction are widespread problems.

4. **Antipsychotics:**
– **Examples:** Haloperidol (Haldol), Risperidone (Risperdal), Olanzapine (Zyprexa).
– **Effect:** These drugs can cause sedation, impaired thinking, and cognitive dulling, which can affect decision-making abilities.
– **Usage:** Used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but side effects can include significant cognitive impairment.

5. **Alcohol:**
– **Effect:** Alcohol consumption can impair cognitive functions, reduce inhibitions, and negatively impact judgment and decision-making.
– **Usage:** Widely consumed socially, but excessive use can lead to acute and chronic cognitive impairments.

6. **Cannabinoids:**
– **Examples:** THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), synthetic cannabinoids like Spice and K2.
– **Effect:** These substances can cause altered perception, impaired memory, and reduced decision-making abilities.
– **Usage:** Used recreationally and for medical purposes, but misuse can lead to cognitive impairments.

7. **Hallucinogens:**
– **Examples:** LSD (Lysergic acid diethylamide), Psilocybin (magic mushrooms), PCP (Phencyclidine).
– **Effect:** Hallucinogens can cause profound changes in perception, mood, and cognitive processes, affecting decision-making.
– **Usage:** Used recreationally and in some experimental therapeutic settings, but can impair judgment and cognition.

8. **Inhalants:**
– **Examples:** Toluene, Nitrous Oxide, Amyl Nitrite.
– **Effect:** Inhalants can cause immediate effects like euphoria, dizziness, and confusion, significantly impairing cognitive function.
– **Usage:** Often misused by inhaling household or industrial chemicals, leading to rapid and severe cognitive impairment.

9. **Cocaine and Amphetamines:**
– **Examples:** Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Adderall (Amphetamine).
– **Effect:** These stimulants can cause euphoria, hyperactivity, and impulsive behavior, leading to poor decision-making and judgment.
– **Usage:** Used recreationally and medically for ADHD, but misuse can lead to severe cognitive and behavioral issues.- ZimEye

Gilbert Kandiado On Video: ZANU PF Will Make People Suffer for Another 5 Years.

By Farai D Hove |

In a bewildering display of contradictory rhetoric, Gilbert Kandiado, the husband of socialite Mai Titi, is on video delivering a series of statements that reveal a perplexing paradox within Zimbabwe’s political discourse. On one hand, Kandiado once made a shocking announcement on video, asserting that “ZANU PF will make people suffer for another 5 years,” a grim forecast that underscores a bleak reality of enduring hardships under the ruling party’s governance. This admission aligns with widespread public sentiment regarding ZANU PF’s controversial legacy of economic mismanagement and political repression.

However, in a perplexing twist, Kandiado subsequently pivoted to describe ZANU PF as “yellow honey,” a metaphor suggesting sweetness and benevolence. This sudden shift in tone raises serious questions about his credibility and motives. How can the same entity responsible for prolonged suffering also be likened to honey, a symbol of abundance and pleasure?

This dichotomy points to a deeper issue of opportunism and insincerity. By oscillating between starkly negative and overly positive portrayals of ZANU PF, Kandiado appears to be engaging in a form of political double-dealing, perhaps aimed at securing personal gain or favor within different factions of the political landscape. His statements serve to confuse rather than clarify, offering no genuine insight but rather highlighting the performative and often deceptive nature of political affiliations in Zimbabwe.

Such contradictory declarations underscore the broader problem of political opportunism, where individuals shift their allegiances and rhetoric to suit their immediate needs, often at the expense of truth and integrity. Kandiado’s dual statements reflect a troubling trend of exploiting political discourse for personal benefit, perpetuating a cycle of misinformation and disillusionment among the public.

In essence, Kandiado’s conflicting messages about ZANU PF encapsulate the paradox of Zimbabwean politics: a landscape where suffering is acknowledged but then swiftly glossed over with empty platitudes, revealing a facade of prosperity that masks deeper systemic issues. This duplicity not only undermines public trust but also perpetuates a fake narrative that hinders genuine progress and accountability.

Sunday LIVE Pictures Of Mai Titi’s Skin Peeling Off After Using Unlicensed Cancerous Feliglow Cream

By Dorrothy Moyo | Harare, Zimbabwe – The popular socialite and comedian Felistas Murata, widely known as Mai Titi, was on Sunday seen on a live Facebook video with her facial skin peeling and scaling off in three different colors. The distressing images, streamed on Sunday, have sparked widespread concern and outrage among her followers and the general public.

Murata, who has a substantial following on social media, was visibly distressed as she showed her damaged skin, attributing the severe reaction to the use of an unlicensed whitening cream called Feliglow. This product, which she had been promoting heavily, is now under scrutiny for its safety and legitimacy…

The incident follows closely on the heels of Murata’s deportation from Heathrow Airport in London, where she was intercepted while trying to import Feliglow creams. Authorities detained her after discovering that the product was unlicensed and falsely marketed as a treatment for eczema.

A screenprint from Murata’s page, Feliglow

**Advisory: Warning Against Unlicensed Whitening Creams**

In light of the alarming live video and the serious health risks demonstrated, an urgent advisory has been issued to warn the public about the dangers of using unlicensed and unregulated whitening creams like Feliglow. These products can contain harmful chemicals that pose significant health risks, including severe skin damage, potential carcinogenic effects, and other serious medical conditions.

Healthcare professionals and regulatory authorities emphasize the following points:

1. **Avoid Unlicensed Products**: Only use skincare products that are approved and regulated by recognized health authorities. Unlicensed creams can contain dangerous substances that are not safe for human use.

2. **Verify Claims**: Be skeptical of products making unrealistic claims, such as curing diseases without scientific evidence. Feliglow’s false claims about treating Alzheimer’s disease are a blatant example of fraudulent marketing.

3. **Consult Healthcare Providers**: Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new skincare treatment, especially those involving chemical agents.

4. **Report Suspicious Products**: If you encounter unlicensed or suspicious skincare products, report them to your local health authorities to prevent others from being harmed.

The incident involving Felistas Murata serves as a stark reminder of the risks associated with unregulated cosmetic products. The public is urged to prioritize their health and safety by being vigilant and informed about the products they use.

Passport, ID Applications Go Online As Gvt Struggles To Clear Backlog

By Correspondent- The government has announced plans to launch an online application platform for passports and national identity cards to address the backlog of applications.

Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe informed state media that the advanced online platform, set up by the Civil Registry Department (CRD), aims to streamline the process of accessing essential civic documents.

The platform is expected to be operational before the end of the year.

Next month, authorities will unveil the Zimbabwe Population Registry System (ZPRS), a central database for all Zimbabwean citizens’ demographic information.

The ZPRS will be a key component in operationalizing the online application platform for civic documents. Currently undergoing final testing, the ZPRS will hold citizens’ details such as names, dates of birth, and places of residence.

It will link various government departments, including hospitals, allowing for instant birth and death registrations, further enhancing efficiency.

To facilitate the digital migration, the CRD has secured high-tech equipment, including servers, in preparation for the rollout.
Kazembe said, “The online passport application is expected to be working before the end of 2024. The Zimbabwe Population Registry System is in the testing phase for some modules, and the system is expected to be implemented at the beginning of July 2024. The Electronic Document and Records Management System is in its development stage and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.”
Online passport application processes vary depending on the specific country’s system. Typically, an applicant visits the official website of the passport office or a designated online portal, creates an account by registering with personal details, and initiates a new passport application. This involves filling out electronic forms, uploading scanned copies of required documents, and making the application fee payment online. The platform also offers a tracking system to monitor the application status, and some systems allow for booking appointments for biometric data capture or document verification at a designated passport office. Applicants might be notified to collect their passport in person or have it delivered by mail upon approval.

This announcement comes as the government has completed setting up an e-passport center in Johannesburg, South Africa, one of five being established in foreign countries. Training of embassy staff responsible for issuing travel documents is nearly complete.

After South Africa, the government plans to open additional e-passport offices in the United Kingdom and the United States.

At least 14 e-passport offices have been set up countrywide, with more than 100,000 travel documents issued since the introduction of e-passports in January 2022.

E-passports are currently being processed at the Harare passport registry and provincial and district offices in Bulawayo, Gwanda, Gweru, Lupane, Marondera, Beitbridge, Chitungwiza, Hwange, Mazowe, Murewa, Zvishavane, Chinhoyi, and Guruve.

This year, the CRD aims to establish e-passport offices in Gokwe South district and Mutare.

Zanu PF Women’s League Urges Mnangagwa to Extend Presidency

By A Correspondent

Emmerson Mnangagwa, the astute leader of Zimbabwe’s Zanu PF party, has strategically positioned himself to extend his tenure beyond 2028.

Over the weekend, the Zanu PF Women’s League publicly implored Mnangagwa to continue leading the country, signaling a calculated manoeuvre to consolidate his authority.

Mnangagwa addressed members of the Women’s League in Harare at the weekend.

According to sources within Zanu PF, the Women’s League’s appeal for Mnangagwa to stay in power beyond 2028 is perceived as a deliberate strategy to maintain political stability and continuity.

“The Women’s League is advocating for ED to remain in office beyond 2028,” disclosed a source from Zanu PF on Saturday.

Mnangagwa’s shrewd political tactics and the Women’s League’s endorsement underscore a concerted effort to secure his prolonged leadership, ensuring continuity in governance amidst Zimbabwe’s evolving socio-political landscape.

100 Zimbos Die In South Africa Every Week

By Political Reporter-The Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (ZIMRA) has disclosed that at least 100 bodies are repatriated from South Africa to Zimbabwe each week through the Beitbridge Border Post.

This figure translates to approximately 400 bodies per month.

The revelation was made during a tour of the upgraded border post by journalists from Masvingo, Chiredzi, Zvishavane, and Beitbridge.

The tour followed a customs and excise training for journalists held at Flamboyant Hotel on June 10 and 11.

Port Health Officer Silibaziso Nkala addressed the journalists, noting that the causes of death varied, including chronic illnesses, accidents, gunshots, and knife stabbings.

“Here we clear the bodies of people who die in South Africa. We verify to ensure they are carrying bodies because people can resort to anything, including smuggling,” Nkala explained. “On average, we process around 100 deceased individuals passing through here weekly. The causes of death vary from chronic illnesses to accidents and violent incidents.”

Nkala expressed concerns about people attempting to smuggle goods along with their deceased relatives. “We also ensure that mourners do not mix dead bodies with other goods. Some try to smuggle items like fuel hidden in coffins and hearses. We usually catch them because we conduct thorough searches before allowing passage. We educate them on the dangers of smuggling goods and that they cannot pass without detection,” she said.

The port also processes the bodies of individuals entering South Africa from Zimbabwe, primarily truck drivers or their spouses who die in Zimbabwe or other countries and are transported to South Africa for burial.

Nkala noted that the facility operates 24/7, but most people prefer to cross on Fridays to bury their loved ones over the weekend.

Additionally, there are cases of children born in South Africa returning to Zimbabwe for the first time.

ZIMRA Beitbridge Regional Manager for Customs and Excise, Lonto Ndlovu, lamented the border’s porousness, which allows for significant smuggling activities since the border stretches for over 100 kilometers. “We cannot monitor all entry points, and people use illegal routes to smuggle goods in and out of the country,” Ndlovu said.

To combat this, ZIMRA has deployed drones capable of monitoring a 10-kilometer radius along the border.

Data from the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) indicates that over a million Zimbabweans live in South Africa, many of whom entered the country illegally.

The high number of deaths has led to a rise in funeral insurance companies that specialize in transporting the deceased back to Zimbabwe.

Mnangagwa’s Alledged Girlfriend Cleared Of US$90 Million NSSA Fraud

By Crime and Court Reporter- Former Public Service Minister Prisca Mupfumira has been acquitted of the US$90 million National Social Security Authority (NSSA) fraud charges.

Mupfumira, who is also believed to be an intimate partner of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, was cleared following a full trial.

Mupfumira faced allegations of criminal abuse of office, accused of “corruptly” influencing a US$90 million property development deal between NSSA and Drawcard Enterprises.

However, Deputy Chief Magistrate Ngoni Nduna delivered a judgment on Saturday, acquitting her of all charges.

The allegations centered on claims that Mupfumira had handpicked Drawcard, a land development firm, without going to tender and pressured NSSA into entering an agreement with the company.

However, Nduna ruled that since Mupfumira never sat on the NSSA Board, she could not have been responsible for selecting Drawcard Enterprises.

In his ruling, Nduna stated, “Her cry that she may have been a mere victim is not far-fetched. The court comes to this conclusion because there is all the evidence, in black and white, that NSSA Board proceeded on its own resolution in the execution of the Mzenya Project, but the State persisted with her prosecution.”

The court found no evidence of meetings where Mupfumira was recorded forcing NSSA to engage Drawcard.

Additionally, Nduna noted that the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) provisions were superseded by a resolution from June 30, 2017, regarding the application on Offtake Housing Projects and the engagement of a developer.

He concluded, “The only conclusion to be arrived at is that NSSA did not go to tender because they resolved not to do so. The accused was not part of the deliberations where that resolution was arrived at.”

If PRAZ regulations had applied to the projects, it was the responsibility of NSSA’s legal advisors to inform the board.

Nduna highlighted that the legal service department at NSSA failed to properly advise the board, leading to the prosecution of Mupfumira based on the actions of others.

Represented by Admire Rubaya of Rubaya and Chatambudza Legal Practitioners, Mupfumira consistently denied the allegations, arguing that her prosecution was motivated by individuals opposed to her loyalty to President Mnangagwa during his tenure as vice president.

She maintained that the selection of Drawcard was the board’s responsibility, and the court agreed with her defense.

Mupfumira was jointly charged with NSSA director Barnabas Matongera, who was discharged at the close of the State’s case.

Mohadi In Health Scare

By Political Reporter- Vice President Kembo Mohadi Friday failed to finish his speech at an event held to donate laptops at Manama High School, Gwanda South, after he experienced a severe bout of coughing, forcing him to pause his speech and request water.

Throughout the event, he appeared pale and tired.

Despite his appearance, the 74-year-old Vice President dismissed rumours about his deteriorating health, asserting that he is fit but feeling the effects of old age.

“I am not sick, but I am getting old; that’s why I drink water a lot,” Mohadi stated. “Manama High School stands shoulder high to all other institutions in this country because it contributed immensely to the liberation struggle. It is very sentimental for us to be here, and it is equally depressing to see that some of the structures here need a lot of touch-up. I can’t…,” he said, trailing off.

Zanu PF Director of Information, Farai Marapira, expressed confidence in the health of the party’s leaders. “We are confident in all our leaders’ health. We are not worried about circulating rumors and are focused on the economy and our mandate to the people of Zimbabwe. We will not be moved by public opinion. This is being done by those who were elected but are not focused on their roles and want to tarnish our leaders. As Zanu PF, we remain focused on the economy,” he said.

An anonymous analyst, fearing reprisal, told The Mirror that Mohadi is ill but unlikely to resign due to his desire to maintain power and influence. “He will obviously not step down because that will be the end of his power and influence. He wants to hold on to his post in every way possible. He keeps a busy schedule when he should give his body ample time to recuperate and rest. What worries me the most is that youth are blindly following these ailing men and will rule when they are also old,” the analyst said.

Former CCC president Nelson Chamisa emphasized the importance of a culture of resting and retiring, rather than collapsing and dying in office.

Concerns about Mohadi’s health were heightened last October after he allegedly collapsed during the Gutu West parliamentary by-election launch, leading to security personnel forcing journalists to delete videos of the incident. Mohadi, who was campaigning for Zanu PF youth leader John Paradza, reportedly also collapsed at the University of Zimbabwe while delivering an Africa Day public lecture. He struggled to stand and had to complete the lecture seated.

The latest incident at Manama marks the third time Mohadi has publicly shown signs of ill health, leading to increasing scrutiny and debate about his condition.

President Mnangagwa Smashed Into A Blue Dam By 4 Trusted ZANU PF Sociallites

By Baba Jukwa | LYRICAL NEWS

The Curious Case of His Excellency: A Tale of Trust and Treachery

In a tale that seems to have leapt straight from the pages of a political thriller, His Excellency Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, President of Zimbabwe, finds himself ensnared in a web of deceit spun by a gang of four highly trusted socialites. This quartet, comprising the flamboyant businessman Wicknell Chivayo, the astute strategist Sengezo Tshabangu, the controversial prophet Uebert Angel, and the vibrant social media personality Mai Titi, has been pushing the president into a precarious situation involving a metaphorical blue dam river known as DA.

Characters pushing ED into the river

The Intriguing Cast

Wicknell Chivayo: Known for his ostentatious lifestyle and shrewd business maneuvers, Chivayo has long been a figure of both admiration and suspicion. His vast network and financial influence make him a powerful ally and a formidable adversary.

Sengezu Tshabangu: The brains behind many political machinations, Tshabangu is a master of strategy. His ability to navigate complex political landscapes and orchestrate events behind the scenes is legendary.

Uebert Angel: The prophet whose sermons often blur the lines between spirituality and politics, Angel’s influence extends deep into the hearts and minds of many Zimbabweans. His enigmatic presence and persuasive oratory make him a key player in this convoluted plot.

Mai Titi: The queen of social media, Mai Titi’s charm and wit have garnered her a massive following. Her ability to sway public opinion through her platforms is unmatched, making her an invaluable asset to the gang.

The Devious Plot

The plot unfolds like a gripping cartoon graphic, with the four conspirators squeezed into a tiny car, hurtling towards the edges of the blue Limpopo River. Their goal: to metaphorically crash Mnangagwa into the depths of the DA, a murky expanse representing political oblivion.

In this vivid cartoon, each character plays their part to perfection. Chivayo, behind the wheel, drives with reckless abandon, symbolizing his brazen approach to business and politics. Tshabangu navigates with a map of convoluted schemes, his eyes gleaming with the thrill of the chase. Angel sits in the back, whispering prophecies that sow seeds of doubt and confusion. Meanwhile, Mai Titi leans out of the window, broadcasting live to her followers, narrating the unfolding drama with a mix of humor and urgency.

The Blue Dam River: DA

The DA, or “Dangerous Abyss,” is a perilous political landscape where many have lost their footing. It represents the culmination of backroom deals, broken trusts, and treacherous alliances. For Mnangagwa, being pushed into the DA means facing a political downfall orchestrated by those he once considered allies.

The Dramatic Conclusion

As the cartoon car nears the river’s edge, a dramatic twist ensues. Mnangagwa, ever the cunning tactician, unveils a plan of his own. Just as the car is about to plunge into the blue waters, he leaps out, leaving the gang to their watery fate. In a masterstroke of political acumen, he turns the tables, exposing their plot to the public and emerging stronger than before.

The Aftermath

The fallout from this high-stakes drama sends shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s political landscape. Chivayo, Tshabangu, Angel, and Mai Titi find themselves facing the consequences of their betrayal. Mnangagwa’s escape from the brink of disaster solidifies his position and reaffirms his reputation as a survivor in the ruthless world of politics.

Conclusion

This fantastical narrative, while rooted in imaginative fiction, echoes the real-world intrigues that often define political arenas. It serves as a reminder of the ever-present dangers of misplaced trust and the resilience required to navigate the treacherous waters of leadership. His Excellency Mnangagwa’s brush with the blue dam river DA is a testament to his enduring prowess and the unpredictable nature of political fortunes.

Mnangagwa Praises Women

Emmerson Mnangagwa, President and First Secretary of ZANU PF, underscored the pivotal role of the Women’s League within the ruling party during his address at the ZANU PF Women’s League National Assembly held at party headquarters in Harare.

Representatives from all ten provinces convened to review their performance and discuss key issues under the leadership’s guidance. President Mnangagwa highlighted the critical contribution of the Women’s League in fortifying the party’s foundation.

“To me, the Women’s League is the nerve centre of our party. You are the heart, liver, and blood in our body politic. Without women, the party cannot thrive. A political party becomes formidable when supported by women,” President Mnangagwa affirmed.

Acknowledging their pivotal role in the previous elections, President Mnangagwa commended the women for their efforts in mobilizing voters, which contributed to ZANU PF’s resounding victory.

“I want to express my gratitude for your role in the elections last year. Your unity, harmony, peace, and love during and after the elections were exemplary. If you have the support of women and youth in the party, victory is assured,” he added.

While stressing the importance of collective loyalty, President Mnangagwa emphasized the need for individual allegiance to the party and its leadership.

“Loyalty should not be merely collective but must start at an individual level. Your loyalty to the party should be personal, not just because you belong to a group,” he advised.

President Mnangagwa also urged unity among women, urging them to support each other in their respective roles within the party and to eschew divisive behaviors.

“There is no room in our party for negative traits like the ‘pull-him-down’ syndrome. We must unite and support one another,” he emphasized.

Encouraging the Women’s League to lead in developmental initiatives that enhance people’s livelihoods, President Mnangagwa reiterated their importance in advancing the party’s agenda and national progress.

Urgent Plea for Zimbabwean Immigrants Detained Indefinitely in Namibia

By Dorrothy Moyo | Windhoek, Namibia — A growing outcry has emerged from countless parents detained indefinitely under the guise of “awaiting deportation” in Namibia, highlighting the severe distress and suffering of their children left behind.

Namibia, traditionally known for its welcoming stance, currently detains a significant number of Zimbabwean immigrants. These individuals, purportedly awaiting deportation, find themselves in indefinite detention, raising serious concerns about the humanitarian impact of such policies. The emotional toll on families, particularly on children separated from their parents, is profound.

Human rights advocates are urging Namibian authorities to consider the deep impact of these detentions. They argue that enforcing immigration laws should not come at the expense of human dignity and the welfare of vulnerable children. If deportation is deemed necessary, it should be carried out respectfully and safely, ensuring these individuals can return to Zimbabwe without undue hardship.

Immediate action is deemed essential to address this crisis. The prolonged detention and separation of families are causing significant emotional harm, especially among children who face uncertainty and instability. Advocates are calling for humane treatment and swift resolution to prevent further suffering.

The global community is being urged to join this advocacy effort. A petition has been launched to demand the humane treatment and release of the detained immigrants, aiming to reunite families and provide stability for the affected children.

Supporters of the petition believe that their signatures can help alleviate the suffering caused by these detentions and uphold the principles of human rights and compassion. This is a crucial moment for the international community to act and ensure that families are not torn apart by immigration policies.

By joining the advocacy, supporters can make a difference in reuniting children with their parents and securing a hopeful future for those impacted by this crisis.

Is Government Sincere In Calling For Protection Of Journalists?

The Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services has called upon journalism educators to establish safe learning environments conducive to shaping the future conduct of students in newsrooms.

During the official launch of the Zimbabwe Journalism Educators Network (ZIJEN) in Masvingo, Mr. Nick Mangwana, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, emphasized the crucial role of educational institutions in grooming professional journalists from the outset.

“Today marks the establishment of a network of journalism educators aimed at enhancing journalistic standards and bolstering citizens’ access to information rights across the nation.

However, we also urge educators to prioritize creating safe spaces for their students, and to condemn practices such as sexual harassment for academic advancement. Our goal is to nurture journalists who exhibit both moral integrity and professional excellence,” he stated.

Prominent White Farmer Found Dead in Bulawayo

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | Bulawayo, Zimbabwe — June 16, 2024 | The agricultural community of Zimbabwe is in shock following the tragic death of a well-known white farmer, Christopher Androliakos, who was found dead on June 13, 2024, at his home in Bulawayo. Androliakos, a key figure in the Zimbabwean beef industry through his company Heads and Hooves, was discovered by his domestic worker in what appears to be a case of suicide.

Police spokesman Inspector Abedinico Ncube provided details of the incident, explaining that Androliakos returned home on the evening of June 12, with his wife away in Harare and the family helper retired for the night. The following morning, at around 6 AM, the domestic worker began her daily duties but found the doors of the main house still locked. “She proceeded to the now deceased’s bedroom window and knocked, but there was no response,” Inspector Ncube stated in a press release.

After waiting for some time, the worker entered the house through the kitchen window, which is always left open to allow the cat to move freely. As she made her way to the main bedroom, she discovered Androliakos’ body hanging from the ceiling loft on a nylon rope. “The scene was devastating. This loss is deeply felt by the community,” Ncube added.

Androliakos was known for his significant contributions to the beef industry, supplying over 500 cattle annually. His company, Heads and Hooves, has been a crucial supplier for various butchers and customers across Zimbabwe.

**Historical Context and Economic Impact**

This tragic event comes in the shadow of Zimbabwe’s tumultuous land reform history, which has seen significant legal and economic repercussions over the past 24 years. The fast-track land reform program initiated in 2000 by then-President Robert Mugabe aimed to redistribute land from white commercial farmers to black Zimbabweans. However, this policy led to widespread dispossession and economic decline.

In 2000, Chief Justice Anthony Gubbay of the Zimbabwean Supreme Court declared the land reforms unconstitutional, citing that “the actions taken by the government violate property rights and the rule of law.” Despite this ruling, the government continued with the land seizures, leading to a sharp decline in agricultural productivity.

A landmark case, *Commercial Farmers Union v. Minister of Lands* (2005), saw the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) finding the Zimbabwean government guilty of breaching bilateral investment treaties. The tribunal ordered compensation for dispossessed farmers, but the ruling was largely ignored by the government. “The government’s blatant disregard for international law has left many of us destitute and the economy in ruins,” stated Ben Freeth, a former farmer whose family lost their land.

Economist John Robertson remarked on the broader impact: “The destruction of commercial agriculture was a self-inflicted wound from which Zimbabwe has yet to recover. The loss of skilled farmers, combined with a lack of support for new landowners, has resulted in widespread food insecurity and economic instability.”

From 2000 to 2008, Zimbabwe’s GDP contracted by nearly 50%, and hyperinflation peaked at an astronomical 89.7 sextillion percent in November 2008, according to the World Bank. The land reform program not only displaced thousands of experienced farmers but also led to significant violence. A 2019 report by the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum documented over 4,000 cases of violence against white farmers and their workers.

In recent years, efforts have been made to address past injustices, including a $3.5 billion compensation deal signed in 2020 for dispossessed farmers. However, many remain skeptical about its implementation. “This is a step in the right direction, but much more needs to be done to restore the rule of law and rebuild our economy,” said David Connolly, a farmers’ representative.

As Zimbabwe mourns the loss of Androliakos, his death underscores the lingering scars of the country’s land reform policies and the urgent need for genuine reconciliation and economic recovery.

Wicknell Aquas Bought from Stolen Govt Cash- War Vets Watchdog

Controversy Surrounds Alleged Use of Taxpayer Funds for Varakashi Cars

Harare, Zimbabwe – June 15, 2024

By Farai D Hove | A major scandal has erupted in Zimbabwe as allegations surface that taxpayer money was used to purchase Toyota Aqua vehicles for the ruling party’s Varakashi, not by the philanthropist and convicted money launderer Wicknell Chivayo as previously claimed. The revelation has sparked widespread outrage and demands for accountability.

The allegations were brought to light by COZWVA (Children of Zimbabwe War Veterans Association), a prominent watchdog organization. In a tweet posted earlier today, COZWVA claimed that the funds used for the purchase of the vehicles were released by the Ministry of Finance. According to COZWVA, this means that ordinary Zimbabweans’ taxes were misappropriated for political purposes.

The tweet stated: “The money that was used to pay for Toyota Aquas was taxpayer money which was released by the Ministry of Finance. So Zimbabweans bought Varakashi cars not Sir Wicknell.”

This accusation directly contradicts previous assertions that Wicknell Chivayo, who has a history of legal troubles including a conviction for money laundering, had funded the vehicles as a donation to support the ruling party’s grassroots campaigners, known as Varakashi. Chivayo had been publicly lauded by some for his supposed generosity.

The explosive claim has led to a heated exchange on social media, with COZWVA promising to release evidence to back their allegations. Responses have been swift and fiery, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesman George Charamba – under user @dhonzamusoro007, posting a provocative reply that was perceived by COZWVA as a death threat. COZWVA responded emphatically, questioning the nature of the threat: “Is this a death threat Mhofu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

ZimFairness added fuel to the fire and these comments reflect the deep-seated resentment of the Zimbabwean government, especially related to the handling of public funds.

As the story unfolds, the Zimbabwean government is under intense pressure to address these serious allegations. The Ministry of Finance have yet to issue a public response. The public awaits further developments, including the promised evidence from COZWVA, which could potentially expose a significant misuse of taxpayer money.

This unfolding drama highlights the ongoing challenges of transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe’s political and financial systems. As more information comes to light, the true extent of the scandal and its implications for the government and the nation remain to be seen.

Chamisa Aide Calls For Chivayo Arrest

Tinashe Sambiri

In a passionate call for action, Stephen Sarkozy Chuma, a prominent aide to Zimbabwean opposition leader Nelson Chamisa, has demanded the resignation of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Chuma, known for his outspoken criticism of the government, emphasized the need for accountability and justice in a nation plagued by allegations of corruption and economic hardship.

Speaking on behalf of citizens disillusioned by the current administration, Chuma declared in a statement on Thursday, “In a normal country, Chivhayo would have been in Chikurubi by now. In fact, citizens would have flooded the streets of Harare demanding ED Mnangagwa’s resignation.

Corruption-ridden Mnangagwa must resign!”

Chuma’s words reflect widespread discontent within Zimbabwe, where many feel that promises of reform have fallen short amid persistent economic challenges and allegations of government corruption. The reference to Chivhayo likely alludes to Wicknell Chivhayo, a controversial businessman accused of involvement in corrupt dealings, whose continued freedom has sparked public outrage.

President Mnangagwa, who came to power in 2017 following the ousting of long-time leader Robert Mugabe, initially pledged to prioritize economic recovery and combat corruption.

However, critics argue that progress has been slow, with corruption allegations implicating high-ranking officials and exacerbating economic woes.

The call for Mnangagwa’s resignation echoes broader sentiments within Zimbabwean civil society and opposition circles, where frustration over governance failures has intensified.

Economic instability, characterized by hyperinflation and currency volatility, has further strained relations between the government and its populace.

Chuma’s statement underscores the urgency of addressing systemic issues that continue to hinder Zimbabwe’s development.

It reflects a growing sentiment that bold action is needed to restore public trust and pave the way for genuine reform.

However, the government has dismissed such calls as politically motivated, emphasizing its commitment to addressing challenges through constitutional means.

As calls for accountability grow louder, Zimbabwe finds itself at a critical juncture, grappling with profound socio-economic challenges amid a polarized political landscape.

The outcome of these tensions will likely shape the country’s trajectory in the coming years, influencing its standing in the international community and the aspirations of its citizens for a better future.

Mnangagwa Demands Loyalty From Women’s League

Mnangagwa’s Dubious Characters Embarrass The Party And Zimbabwe As A Whole

By Cde Mandla Mpofu | The country is in trouble, because there are no criminals around Mnangagwa; there are criminals led by Mnangagwa. One contributor placated this message to the President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa saying: “Your proximity and association with dubious characters is aiding their criminality! They will produce pictures with an ‘alleged’ President, thereby making the innocent drop their guard.”

Characters pushing ED into the river

Many Zimbabweans have complained about ED’s choice of associates. Zimbabweans worldwide have expressed concern over the audios of yet another scammer linked to his presidency, alleging that the latest development confirms that the presidency under Mnangagwa has become a haven for dubious characters. Fraudsters, murderers, and all sorts of criminals are so close to the president.

Passion Java with Emmerson Mnangagwa

Zimbabweans should seriously give themselves a deep self-searching moment. Our State House is now filled with thugs.

The convicted armed robber who is the President’s son-in-law, Mr. Paradzai Kutyauripo, is employed at the State House as the Director of all residencies across the country. To prove that criminality is in his blood, Kutyauripo used his sister, the violent and stubborn First Lady, to rob the chiefdom from another. Now, Kutyauripo is a chief by force and still occupies a senior post in the State House. It is unsurprising that many robbers commit crimes and hide at the State House.

It is again not a lie that Mnangagwa himself receives millions of dollars every month from his partner in crime, Owen Muda Ncube. Muda and July Moyo demand thirty percent from every miner, including the “Gwejas,” now fondly called artisan miners. Anyone who mines in Midlands must pay 30 percent of their produce to Muda, who then gives the collections to Mnangagwa. There is no doubt that Muda gets more money in kickbacks.

This is the country we call ours. The President partakes in criminal activities openly and is now a multi-billionaire from the money he robs from his own people. Zimbabweans are shocked that scammers like Uebert Angel and Wicknell Chivayo even enjoy office accommodation within the safety and cover of the Presidential Villa, from where they carry out their fraudulent assignments. This is hard evidence that the Mnangagwa presidency breeds and facilitates swindlers, charlatans, and treasury looters.

It can be said that nothing is impossible for a presidency replete with individuals who thrive on lies, false claims, certificate forgery, bribery, intimidation, robbery, murder, and recruiting fraudulent and corrupt persons as ministers, special advisers, and clandestine fronts for financial sleazes and presidential sons like Chivayo.

Zimbabweans hold that it is the height of deceit and duplicity that an administration boasting of integrity and zero tolerance for corruption could be the very sanctuary of the underworld. It is surely playing with Zimbabweans, and Mnangagwa is a thief put in the State House.

If the President were taking the advice offered by some politicians and pundits in recent days, he would desist from associating with people of dubious character. However, strange behavior and merely associating with dubious characters put the President’s name in disrepute.

This is presumably one reason why President Mnangagwa surrounds himself with criminals. Does Mnangagwa know that national security requires that he surrounds himself with those who have been vetted? Mnangagwa’s behavior reveals why the issue of executive power and the law in our constitutional order is more complicated than anything and always broken because a criminal is in power. It is not easy to answer whether the President, acting in this gray area, is “breaking the law.”

This is in addition to further allegations that Chivayo has been fronting for a close relation of the President for shady oil deals and huge contracts running into billions of dollars in major revenue-earning agencies. As Chivayo said, many government departments will give him tenders uncontested.

Zimbabweans must note how the Chivayo matters reminded the nation of the case of being eaten alive. We have several Zimbabweans in charge of receiving billions of dollars from miners and businessmen on behalf of the President. Where are we going as a nation?

Dubious persons close to the President are involved in serial fraud and looting of public resources. It is shameful how the public space has been saturated with allegations of individuals and cabals connected to the Mnangagwa presidency hounding government agencies and major domestic and international business concerns for kickbacks while strangling those who refuse to accede to their demands.

Today, it is no longer news that the Mnangagwa presidency holds the medal as the most corrupt administration in our nation’s history, which has also mastered the act of concealment with propaganda and deceit. The Presidency has not yet provided answers as to why it has not investigated and prosecuted the utterances by Chivayo. There are persons involved in the trillion-dollar sleazy contracts as detailed in the leaked audios by Chivayo, which has always been a complaint by Zimbabweans.

The Presidency has also not informed the nation why it has not investigated and prosecuted persons involved in the alleged stealing of our money. Such inaction in the face of huge sleazes points to nothing but complicity in very high places, and Zimbabweans now know the links as well as those to hold responsible. Mnangagwa’s corruption and Chivayo’s unlimited access to the presidency and security of the country mean they have upheld a President’s “inherent authority” outside the Constitution to acquire more wealth despite necessary intelligence for national security purposes. The friendship of Mnangagwa with known criminals like Passion Java, Walter Magaya, Hubert Angel, Makandiwa, Emanuel Chivayo, and many criminals now in our parliament like July Moyo and Owen Ncube, using such people for criminally amassing wealth, is demonic since citizens’ lives and liberty are potentially at stake.

Mnangagwa does not understand why the President uniquely swears an oath prescribed in the Constitution to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution. Implicit in that oath is the recognition that, no matter how much we might wish it to be the case, one cannot legislate for every contingency, and judges cannot supervise many national security decisions. But when the President leads the troops of thugs, then cry the beloved country.

Mnangagwa has rolled our country into the mud by choosing thieves ahead of those who voted for him. Mnangagwa’s association with ‘dubious characters’ has state agencies spooked about blackmail threats and are being undermined by these thieves now called children of the father thief.

This is not an argument for an unfettered executive prerogative. Under our system of separated powers, the Zimbabwean parliament has no right and ability to judge whether President Mnangagwa has in fact used his executive discretion soundly, and to hold him responsible if he hasn’t. But to engage in demagogic rhetoric about corruption, with more evidence that the President has abused his discretion, is foolish and irresponsible because they are afraid to put Mnangagwa in his place. Those around Mnangagwa are afraid of him, and he has become a loose cannon. Mnangagwa is a law unto himself and has transferred that power to the thieves around him.

Zimbabweans, we are under the powers of evil. We are cursed with having President Chivayo, an overall power to steal from us. Maybe there is stuff that can be used for blackmail against Mnangagwa; that’s why he is afraid to take action. Does he have close friends and associates with a dubious character more than that of Java, Angel, and Chivayo?

Zimbabwe is in trouble. There are no criminals around Mnangagwa; there are criminals led by Mnangagwa.

Mohadi Collapses Again

By Political Reporter- Vice President Kembo Mohadi experienced a severe bout of coughing on Friday, which forced him to pause his speech and request water during a laptop donation event at Manama High School, his alma mater in Gwanda South.

Throughout the event, he appeared pale and tired.

Despite his appearance, the 74-year-old Vice President dismissed rumors about his deteriorating health, asserting that he is fit but feeling the effects of old age.

US Based Zim Medic Builds Clinic In Zaka

By Staff Reporter-By Staff Reporter – Sadock Mashindi, a United States-based clinician and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Arise Hospital in Indiana, has built a clinic in Zaka, Masvingo Province.

According to The Mirror, the Nyamandlovhu Clinic, located in Dahwa Village in Zaka Ward 31 under Chief Bota, will be commissioned later this year and will offer free services.

Mashindi, who is also a cleric in the Church of Christ, was motivated to build the clinic after losing several relatives, including his father, to treatable diseases due to a critical shortage of local clinics. He explained: “I lost my father and relatives because we had to travel long distances to other clinics, and some people died on the way before accessing medical care. I started this project five years ago, and the clinic will be officially opened this year. We are doing this to help the community through our Christian values.”

Nyamandlovhu Clinic is expected to serve at least 5,000 villagers in Ward 31, the new resettlement area, Dzoro, Bota, and parts of Zaka South and East.

Mashindi funded the project with his own resources and received additional support from family and friends.

He views this initiative as part of his Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to his village of origin.

He said: “My idea is to establish a mission in my rural village. We want to build a primary and secondary school as part of the mission, and the establishment of an orphanage is also being considered.
Currently, we have only two mission schools in Zaka, and I aim to establish a third one. I want to thank my family, friends, and church members for their support from day one. My wife, who is a medical doctor, supported me, and my kids made significant sacrifices to help build this faith-based clinic.”

In addition to building the clinic, Mashindi has donated medication and equipment to Machiva Clinic and is assisting villagers through mobile clinics with a team of doctors.

Before relocating to the USA, Mashindi was a teacher at Dewure High School in Gutu.

In the USA, he worked as a Regional Clinician Counselor before establishing his own hospital.

Prisca Mupfumira Found Not Guilty Of Criminal Abuse Of Duty

By A Correspondent| The widely circulated corruption case against former Public Service Minister Prisca Mupfumira has collapsed after a deputy chief magistrate Ngoni Nduna found her not guilty of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer stating that the actual people who failed in their duty as public officers were actually made witnesses against her.

Mupfumira was accused of acting contrary to her duties by directing NSSA to engage in the Muzenya off take housing project in Gweru which resulted in a company called Drawcard Enterprises entering into an agreement with NSSA without following tender process.

The State alleged that she handpicked the company and pressurised the Nssa board into entering into an agreement with them, which was against the law and in violation of tender processes.

She was jointly charged with a director at NSSA Barnabas Matongera who was discharged at the close of the State’s case.

During her defence case on Friday as she was being led in evidence by her lawyer,Admire Rubaya, Senator Mupfumira said she was a victim of circumstances, describing the allegations as politically motivated, driven by political adversaries who accused her of supporting President Emmerson Mnangagwa who was then Vice-President.

She denied bringing Drawcard into the picture, stating that it was the responsibility of the nssa board to come up with such procurement decisions. She said she was never part of the board and never sat on it and her version found favour with the court.

“Accused’s version that she never participated in the identification of Drawcard sounds highly probable. Her cry that she may have been a mere victim is not far-fetched. The court comes to this conclusion because there is all the evidence, in black and white, that NSSA board proceeded on its own resolution in the execution of the Mzenya Project, but the state persisted with her prosecution,” the magistrate said.

The Court said the ex-minister cannot be faulted that the project in issue was not taken to tender as this was not her responsibility adding that it is preposterous to think she did that.

The Court said the people who might have abused their duty were the ones who were made witnesses.

“Clearly where one in these circumstances would want the court to believe that accused is responsible from the deviation from PRAZ provisions and that she compelled NSSA to engage Drawcard in the absence of minutes of meetings where accused is recorded as exerting herself towards engagements of Drawcard would be preposterous to say the least.

“It is clear PRAZ regulations were ousted by the resolution of 30 June 2017 from application on Offtake Housing Projects and the identification and engagement of a developer. The only conclusion to be arived at is that NSSA did not go to tender because they resolved not to do so.

“Accused was not part of the deliberations where that resolution was arived at. If ever PRAZ applied to the projects, it is the Legal Advisors in NSSA who should be held liable for not properly advising the board on legal issues. They let the board subvert a statutory provision. And persons who could have erred, in the face of clear evidence, they were lined as witnesses against the accused,” the court said.

The court said there is no evidence that she knew about the company before its engagement.

“For example the state can prove prior dealing or connection between the accused and the beneficiary of the impugned favours or decision by the public oficer. In this case there was none put before the court that accused may have known or be connected to Drawcard so as to induce her to extend an undue favour of the deal in question. There is no evidence that accused, soon after or before ever received a consideration from Drawcard

Zimbabwe: The Case For Financial Genocide And Terrorism

Dr Raymond Chamba | No societies and nations are free from crime. There is a fine difference between common, passing and normal acts of thievery within any business operation, and there is a most chilling, structured mechanism to prejudice a nation of their expected national development potential. The latter is what obtains in Zimbabwe where a wholesale criminal enterprise has taken over the work of government- exerting an intolerable, insufferable and evil extraction mechanism to the cost of doing business.

Dr Raymond Chamba

The private tollgates for creaming off benefits to all levels of government contracting, enabled by strategic appointments of people within the cycle of decision making on examination of recent reports of gross malfeasance cannot be called corruption anymore. By the fact and effect of its painful impact on a nation with arrested development it’s best explained as a form of genocide and financial terrorism on the rampage.

Reports of a structured existence of “Mr 10%” for all government payments make for most sad reading. Let’s compute total government expenditure since September, 2018 on his assumption of office then come up with a most minimal figure of the private toll gate that this man and his cartel have put up at the very heart of government. If reports are founded this cannot be an anomaly but the very reason that person was put there- to cream off payments for a cartel.

The sensational Wicknell Chivharo is actually nothing more than a blubber mouth and indeed small fry given the ernomity of these levels of structured corruption as reported and alleged. Dear Zimbabwean citizens- we are being led by a government of crooks, for crooks, and cheered on and defended by crooks. Tiri kutongwa nembavha. There is no refined way to put it…..

In terms of the quantum of fraudulent behaviour relative to our economy we cannot talk about thieving anymore because it amounts to genocide in terms of the toll it takes on the fiscus and the net prejudice to the ordinary citizens in terms of reduced healthcare, bad roads, education delivery, unemployment and all the negative human development indicators that point to a society under financial seige from those that are charged with giving it political and economic direction.

By all preliminary indications the fiscus must have been prejudiced of not less than USD$12 billion since 2018. Since local action has failed to stem the tide of rampant financial thuggery, the time to take this to international bodies is now. lts not just big fraudulent behaviour but the great potential of proceeds being used to fund and
promote illicit activities like terrorism, mineral smuggling, drug trade and human trafficking.

What’s taking place is something bigger and more sinister than commercial malfeasance. Its a whole brazen construction of criminal enterprise for the express purpose of perpetuationg other far bigger and uglier global malcontence of the highest order. These are not just incompetent and socio-political and economic indifferent people…

By all actions of commission and commission we are talking about an active satanic and evil kingdom activated. Something has to give and soonest lest we have country to speak of. What we see before our very eyes is financial genocide and terrorism perpetrated against the hapless citizens of Zimbabwe by a committed small criminal enterprise sect of political Mandarins defined by an even narrow group of related families….

Chamisa Aide Calls For Mnangagwa Resignation With Immediate Effect

Chamisa In Grand Appearance

By Political Reporter- Zimbabwe’s most popular opposition politician, Nelson Chamisa, was enthusiastically received by Zanu PF bigwigs at a function hosted at the British Embassy’s Chisipite residence in Harare on Friday.

Photographs from the event capture Zanu PF spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa and former Zanu PF political commissar Webster Shamu eagerly vying for the opportunity to be photographed with the charismatic Chamisa.

Following the event, Chamisa took to his Facebook page to express his dedication to uniting the people of Zimbabwe.

Chamisa wrote:
MIXING AND MINGLING …It was really refreshing to interact with the invited guests and Zimbabweans from diverse walks of life at an event hosted by the @UKinZimbabwe. We must unite to build a stronger and better future. We’re #OnePeople.

Malema Squares Off With Ramaphosa, Calls Him Sell-Out

South Africa- The leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters, Julius Malema, has condemned the impending African National Congress and Democratic Alliance government, saying that it would not serve the interests of black South Africans.

Malema said this after the re-election of ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa following a marathon sitting of the National Assembly Friday night.

Ramaphosa is forming a Government of National Unity with the Democratic Alliance, Inkatha Freedom Party, National Freedom Party, the Patriotic Alliance and Freedom Front Plus.

Malema said the ANC and DA joining forces to ensure Ramaphosa was elected was “a marriage that seeks to undermine the changing of property relations in South Africa”.
“We refuse to sell out. We have never done so when we’re young, and we’re not going to do so today. We don’t have a history of being collaborators.
“We are going to ensure that this parliament is functional. We can reassure you that will not fight with any bouncers. We’re going to be the best and effective opposition that is going to ensure that both you and the DA are held accountable. This is not a government of national unity. This is a grand coalition between the ANC and the white monopoly capital. History will judge you and judge you harshly,” Malema said.Hitting back at critics Ramaphosa said the formation of the new government was not a government of national unity but a “grand coalition between the ANC and DA,” Ramaphosa said, “I wish to state very clearly this is not a grand coalition of two or three parties. It is a government of national unity that we are constituting, and we’ve been here before. We were here in 1994 when we sought to unite our country and effect reconciliation. We are here now, as directed by the votes that our people delivered, to work together to ensure that we address the challenges that they face. And this we shall do, and this is what I am committed to achieving as the President of the Republic of South Africa.”Ramaphosa said the results of the general elections on May 29 were made clear by the electorate, who wanted the leaders of the country to work together.
“They expect the parties for which they voted to find common ground, to overcome their differences, to act and work together for the good of everyone in our country. The stark reality of the results of our past election is that no single party represented in this house achieved an outright majority to work alone, legislatively and also at the executive level. Through their votes, our people expect all parties to work together within the framework of our Constitution and to work as political parties to achieve the objectives of a democratic society based on non-racialism, non-sexism, peace, and justice, to ensure stability and to tackle the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment, and inequality, and to achieve prosperity for all,” Ramaphosa said.

More Troubles For Chivhayo

By Political Reporter- Zanu PF sympathiser and controversial businessman Wicknell Chivhayo is under investigation for allegedly defrauding the government of US$1.2 million by charging exorbitant prices for an HP server that retails for approximately US$4,000.

Through his South African-based company, Chivhayo billed the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) over US$1.2 million for an HP server that costs about US$4,000.

This revelation comes amid a fallout between Chivhayo and his business partners, Moses Mpofu and Mike Chimombe.

Reports indicate that Chivhayo secured contracts worth up to US$40 million with ZEC ahead of the August 2023 general elections.

These contracts were for providing tents, electronic devices, biometric hardware and software, ink, and training, among other essentials.

Mpofu and Chimombe, who are demanding US$10 million in lost earnings from Chivhayo, have released incriminating information against him.

This includes details of a deal involving the South African firm, Ren-Form. According to The NewsHawks, ZEC initiated a procurement process in February 2023 and specifically selected Chivhayo and his partners to supply critical electoral materials.

Chivhayo, in collaboration with Chimombe and Mpofu, used Better Brands Security (Pvt) Ltd, owned by Scott Sakupwanya, to enter an agreement with Ren-Form CC on February 13, 2023, for participation in Zimbabwe’s election tenders.

It is alleged that Chivhayo, conspiring with Ren-Form officials, later altered the agreement to exclude his business partners, thus securing 66% of the payments for himself.

The agreed procedure was for Ren-Form to invoice and receive payments from ZEC, then transfer Better Brands’ share into a South African bank account.

This arrangement left Chimombe and Mpofu enraged.
Leaked documents and invoices reveal that the South African company provided ZEC with an HP Proliant DL380 Gen 10 server, invoiced at US$1,264,865.

However, the same server is priced at $4,695 on Amazon, indicating that Chivhayo overcharged ZEC by more than US$1,260,000.

Water Crisis in Hwange: Residents in DRC Phase 4 Left Dry Despite Payments

I am a Zimbabwean currently residing in South Africa and whk relocated my family back to Hwange, Zimbabwe, where I purchased a plot in DRC Phase 4, Hwange.

When I arrived home in early February, water was available, but by the end of February, the water supply in Phase 4 was cut off. Despite our efforts to contact Zinwa and the Hwange local board, we have not received a clear explanation. Residents are still paying for water, yet the main pipe for DRC Phase 4 remains closed to this day.

I am seeking assistance with this issue. I can provide videos showing the water we are currently using.

Thank you.

Chamisa Reflects Political Maturity…

Nelson Chamisa, often regarded as a beacon of political acumen in Zimbabwe, made waves on Friday as he shared images of himself engaging with members of the ruling Zanu PF party at a British Embassy event. Among those captured in the snapshots were Zanu PF stalwarts Chris Mutsvangwa and Webster Shamu, signaling a rare display of political unity in the country.

In a statement accompanying the photos, Chamisa emphasized the importance of coming together for the collective good. “Mixing and mingling… It was really refreshing to interact with the invited guests and Zimbabweans from diverse walks of life at an event hosted by the @UKinZimbabwe. We must unite to build a stronger and better future. We’re #OnePeople,” remarked Chamisa, underlining his commitment to fostering national unity and reconciliation.

Chamisa’s willingness to engage with political adversaries is seen as a departure from the often polarized landscape of Zimbabwean politics. Despite ideological differences and historical animosities, the gesture reflects Chamisa’s pragmatic approach to governance and his recognition of the need for collaboration in addressing the country’s myriad challenges.

The presence of prominent Zanu PF figures alongside Chamisa at the British Embassy event underscores the potential for dialogue and cooperation across party lines. Mutsvangwa and Shamu, both veterans of the political arena, joined Chamisa in demonstrating a shared commitment to the nation’s future prosperity and stability.

Chamisa’s inclusive rhetoric and outreach efforts have been met with both praise and scrutiny. While some applaud his efforts to bridge political divides and promote national unity, others remain skeptical of the prospects for genuine reconciliation in a deeply polarized political environment.

Nevertheless, Chamisa’s message of unity resonates with many Zimbabweans who yearn for an end to political strife and a renewed focus on addressing pressing socio-economic challenges. By extending an olive branch to political foes and advocating for collaboration, Chamisa is positioning himself as a unifying force in Zimbabwean politics, offering a vision of hope and progress for the nation’s future.

Zanu PF Regime Grabs Tsvangirai House

By A Correspondent

In a move that has ignited shock and outrage across Zimbabwe, the administration of President Emmerson Mnangagwa has reportedly seized the residence of the late former Prime Minister and founding president of the Movement for Democratic Change, Morgan Tsvangirai.

The appropriation of Tsvangirai’s home for government purposes marks a troubling development in the country’s political landscape, reigniting concerns about property rights and political motivations.

According to a government source who spoke on condition of anonymity, the house of the late Morgan Tsvangirai has been repurposed to serve as the headquarters of the Government Mutapa Investment Fund.

The sudden transition of the property into a government asset has stunned many observers and raised questions about the intentions behind the move.

The announcement was met with swift condemnation from various quarters, with critics denouncing the action as a brazen display of power by the Mnangagwa regime. Prominent opposition figures and civil society organizations have decried the seizure, highlighting its implications for property rights and political freedoms in Zimbabwe.

In response to the controversial decision, a spokesperson for the opposition party remarked, “The actions of the Mnangagwa administration in appropriating Morgan Tsvangirai’s house are a blatant violation of property rights and a cynical attempt to erase the memory of a formidable political figure.

This move represents a new low in the government’s disregard for democratic norms and respect for the legacy of those who have fought for a better Zimbabwe.”

The house in question, once the private residence of Morgan Tsvangirai, symbolizes the struggle for democracy and the sacrifices made by opposition leaders in challenging the ruling establishment. Its transformation into a government institution underscores the shifting power dynamics within Zimbabwe and the challenges facing those who seek to uphold democratic values in the face of authoritarian tendencies.

Civil society groups and human rights advocates have called for transparency regarding the decision to expropriate Tsvangirai’s house, demanding accountability from the Mnangagwa administration.

The move has reignited concerns about the erosion of property rights and the consolidation of power in the hands of a few within the country’s political elite.

As the controversy surrounding the seizure of Morgan Tsvangirai’s house continues to unfold, it serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing struggles for democracy and justice in Zimbabwe.

Chamisa Breathes Fire Over Zim Crisis

In a scathing denouncement, Zimbabwean opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has unleashed a torrent of criticism against President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his ruling Zanu PF party, accusing them of turning a blind eye to corruption, fraud, and nepotism that pervade the country’s political landscape.

“It’s rottenness everywhere,” Chamisa proclaimed in a statement that reverberated across the nation, highlighting the pervasive culture of corruption that has plagued Zimbabwean society for years.

Drawing a parallel between governance and the putrefaction of a fish starting from its head, Chamisa’s words painted a grim picture of the state of affairs in the country.

The specific incident that drew Chamisa’s ire involved an aspiring political candidate embroiled in a dubious transaction relating to the procurement of election materials by the Electoral ‘Omission,’ a glaring typo that likely alluded to the Electoral Commission, alongside a known ally of the incumbent government. Despite the candidate’s efforts, the election was lost.

Subsequently, a shadowy figure, described as an ‘impositor,’ acting as a proxy for the aspiring politician, petitioned for the removal of the winning candidate in a move shrouded in intrigue.

The response from both the Electoral Commission and Parliament to the impostor’s letter, resulting in the disqualification of legitimate candidates from contesting, cast a dark shadow over the electoral process.

The culmination of these events saw the aspiring politician, alleged by Chamisa to be a “political conman,” usurp a parliamentary seat uncontested, emblematic of the deep-seated corruption and manipulation that Chamisa vociferously condemned.

Chamisa’s rallying cry for an end to this “rottenness” struck a chord with many Zimbabweans disillusioned by the persistent malfeasance that has marred the country’s governance and eroded public trust in the political establishment.

The call to action resonated not only with his supporters but also with citizens across the political spectrum who yearn for transparency, accountability, and integrity in their leaders.

The implications of Chamisa’s statement reverberate far beyond the confines of partisan politics.

They underscore the urgent need for systemic reforms that would safeguard democratic principles, uphold the rule of law, and combat the scourge of corruption that threatens to undermine Zimbabwe’s socio-political fabric.

ANC, DA, Forge Historic Government of National Unity

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye| In a groundbreaking political development, multiple sources have confirmed that South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) and the Democratic Alliance (DA) have successfully negotiated a deal to form a Government of National Unity (GNU). This coalition will also include the Patriotic Alliance (PA) and the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP). The agreement comes in the wake of the recent national elections in May, which resulted in a hung parliament with no party securing an outright majority.

-Protracted Negotiations Culminate in Historic Agreement

The formation of the GNU follows days of intense negotiations and discussions among the major political parties. Initially, there was significant uncertainty as parties struggled to decide their alliances and positions within the proposed GNU. The breakthrough was achieved after the IFP, a key player in these negotiations, declared its commitment to the coalition on Thursday.

– IFP’s Commitment to National Unity

In a pivotal announcement, IFP President Velenkosini Hlabisa confirmed that the party would join the GNU at the national level alongside the ANC and DA. Hlabisa emphasized that this decision was driven by a sense of duty towards South Africa and its citizens. “For the sake of South Africa and our people, we have chosen to be part of this unity government,” Hlabisa stated.

– A New Era in South African Politics

This alliance between historically antagonistic parties marks a significant shift in South Africa’s political landscape. The ANC, which has been the dominant force in South African politics since the end of apartheid in 1994, now shares governance responsibilities with the DA, its primary political rival, and other significant parties.

The DA has also announced its support for Cyril Ramaphosa’s re-election as President, a move that almost guarantees his continued leadership. Senior DA negotiator Helen Zille expressed optimism about the coalition, indicating that the deal represents a new chapter for South Africa.

– Implications for Governance and Policy

The formation of the GNU is expected to bring a period of political stability and collaborative governance. With the ANC, DA, PA, and IFP working together, the government aims to address pressing national issues more effectively, combining their diverse perspectives and strengths.

This development promises to reshape the political dynamics in South Africa, fostering an environment of cooperation and shared objectives among the major parties. As the new government takes shape, all eyes will be on how this unprecedented coalition manages the country’s challenges and opportunities in the years ahead.

The creation of the Government of National Unity marks a historic moment in South Africa’s political history. It underscores a collective commitment to unity, stability, and the well-being of the nation. The collaboration between the ANC, DA, PA, and IFP is set to usher in a new era of governance, with the hope of fostering greater prosperity and social cohesion across South Africa.

The extent of rottenness and corruption stinks to the high heavens. As they say, a fish rots from the head. An aspiring political candidate is implicated in a transaction involving procurement of election materials by the Electoral ‘Omission’ together with a well known ally of the incumbent. The candidate loses the election. An impositor who is their proxy and sidekick recalls the winning candidate in the aspiring politician/ conman’s constituency. The Electoral ‘Omission’ and Parliament both act on the impostor’s letter and bar the legitimate candidates from contesting. The political conman snatches the seat uncontested. This rottenness must be ended! Good day family!
