Recent alleged leaked audio suggests that Cyril Ramaphosa might announce his resignation from both his positions as President of the ANC and as President of South Africa due to pressure from the ANC NEC top five and his funders.
It is claimed that Ramaphosa has set one condition for his resignation: immunity from arrest.
This would protect him from charges related to the Marikana Massacre and the Phala Phala scandal, both of which could potentially lead to his imprisonment. His legal team is reportedly exploring ways to secure this protection.
The leak is believed to have come from one of the NEC members.

But it seems, the move was meant to block the Mayor of Harare, Jacob Mafume who has of late been enjoying cruising in a motorcade while on council business.
Mafume’s motorcade had caused social media noise with many asking if he deserved such a privilege.
“Yooo guys @JMafume is flexing in Harare, just went past me in a motorcade, full with sirens ?,” reads one of the posts on Facebook by Blessed Mhlanga.
Others supported Mafume saying he was the first resident of the city hence deserves protection.
The police have since put a stop to that warning that anyone who continues to use a motorized escort will face the full wrath of the law.
“In terms of the country’s laws only the State Presidium will be provided with motorised escorts or State motorcade. In this regard, the public should take note that there is no law or provision which allows the Zimbabwe Republic Police to offer or provide motorised escorts for various requests such as weddings, church gatherings, birthday parties or other private functions.
“In the same vein, the public is accordingly informed that the law does not allow the use of any private or personal motorcade of any form on the country’s roads whether with beacon lights or sounding any form of siren. The law will take its course without fear or favour for those found on the wrong side of the law,” said Nyathi.

There are fierce power struggles over succession between Mnangagwa and his deputy Chiwenga, as Mnangagwa aims to extend his rule beyond ten years.
The purging process, termed a ‘restructuring exercise,’ began over the weekend across all provinces.
This initiative is the first step towards building Zanu PF’s lower structures, registering new members, and taking stock of current members.
Zanu PF has dispatched Politburo-led teams to all 10 provinces to conduct the witch-hunt exercise.
The process commenced with the convening of Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meetings over the weekend.
Whenever the Zanu PF leadership feels threatened by internal power struggles, the ruling party carries out such exercises.
The Commissariat Department has deployed Politburo members to address the PCC meetings and explain how the restructuring program will be conducted.
Zanu PF Political Commissar Munyaradzi Machacha stated that after the PCC meetings, provinces should hold Inter-District meetings at all District Coordinating Committee (DCC) centers on June 8 and 9, 2024.
Each province will deploy its PCC members to address these inter-district meetings and communicate the framework for conducting the restructuring program at the cell and village levels.
“The Inter-district meetings,” Machacha said, “should be followed by nationwide Inter-Branch meetings to be held on June 15 and 16, 2024. The actual restructuring should then effectively begin on June 17, 2024, and end on July 17, 2024. Twice, President Mnangagwa has nearly sold the land surrounding Victoria Falls, which is well-known to be Zambian territory. The first incident occurred at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018.
“When I was in Davos I met staffers from the Trump administration. I had hoped to meet President Trump but I had to leave before he arrived. But I told his people that if president Trump wishes, I will offer him ground in Victoria Falls in the national park.

“We have wildlife national park in Victoria Falls, but I had offered president Trump ground to build a state-of-the-art golf course so that as he plays, he can be able to see the big five,” Mnangagwa said.
The second incident was even more embarrassing and was caught on camera by undercover journalists posing as gangsters for the GoldMafia documentary by Al Jazeera’s Investigative Unit. During a meeting with Mnangagwa’s ambassador, Uebert Angel, the envoy claimed he can arrange for them to have Victoria Falls land. A prime spot for any venture they might have in mind.
These incidents expose the absurdity of offering land that does not belong to Zimbabwe. Despite the gravity of these past mistakes, they were not brought up during the recent meeting with President Hichilema, leaving an unspoken chapter in their diplomatic interactions.

Once upon a time (well, not really, but close enough), in the heart of Southern Africa, lay a magnificent masterpiece of nature – Victoria Falls. With its thundering cascades and ethereal mist, it captivated the imaginations of all who beheld its splendour. But as is often the case with treasures of this magnitude, a dispute arose over its ownership.

Zimbabweans, with their unwavering pride, laid claim to the falls, proudly proclaiming it as a symbol of their nation’s beauty. They pointed to the fact that the majority of the falls lie within the borders of Zimbabwe, and thus, it rightfully belonged to them. They marvelled at the sheer power of the falls, finding solace in the knowledge that this awe-inspiring wonder was their own.
However, just across the mighty Zambezi River, Zambians begged to differ. They argued that the falls belonged to Zambia, for it was their land that provided the best vantage points to witness its grandeur. They boasted about the stunning views from their side, where the falls seemed to dance and shimmer under the golden African sun. They claimed that the falls were an integral part of their tourism industry, drawing visitors from far and wide to witness its majesty.
Adding to the complexity of the situation is the historical context. Victoria Falls was named by the Scottish explorer David Livingstone, who discovered the falls in 1855. At the time, the area was ruled by the local indigenous tribes. However, in the late 19th century, the British colonised the region, which later became known as Rhodesia. After gaining independence in 1980, Rhodesia became Zimbabwe. Zambia, on the other hand, gained independence in 1964. This historical backdrop adds another layer to the debate over ownership.
As the debate raged on, the falls themselves seemed to chuckle at the absurdity of it all. For they knew that they were beyond the ownership of any nation. They belonged to the world, a gift from nature that defied borders and boundaries. The falls laughed as Zimbabweans and Zambians bickered, their voices drowned out by the roar of the cascades.
While Zimbabwe may have the majority of the falls within its borders, it is important to note that the views from both sides offer unique perspectives. Zimbabwe’s proximity allows for a closer encounter with the falls and a breathtaking view from the famous Devil’s Pool. On the other hand, Zambia provides a wider panorama, showcasing the falls in all their glory. Both countries offer different experiences, ensuring that visitors can appreciate the true magnificence of Victoria Falls.

Charamba emphasized that coalitions are merely tactical alliances and not reflective of the ANC’s long-term stability. “WHAT MANY MISS: Coalitions are tactical alliances, alliances of necessity; they are not the goal. We had that here in the form of GNU. What happened afterwards? It’s politically foolish to judge the shelf life of ANC on the likely temporary retreat. The real issue crying out for analysis is if or not the retreat is strategic!” Charamba asserted on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, President Cyril Ramaphosa described the election results as a victory for South Africa’s democracy, despite the ANC losing its parliamentary majority for the first time. The once-dominant party, historically led by Nelson Mandela, secured 159 seats in the 400-seat parliament, a significant drop from the 230 seats it held in the previous assembly.
“This is the ANC’s worst election result since the end of apartheid 30 years ago, but it still holds the most seats by far,” Ramaphosa noted. The president acknowledged the sharp decline in support, which necessitates forming a coalition to govern. “Our people have spoken, whether we like it or not, they have spoken,” he said.
Ramaphosa called on all political leaders to heed the will of the voters and seek common ground. “Through their votes, they have demonstrated clearly and plainly that our democracy is strong and it is enduring,” he added. South Africa’s political parties now have two weeks to negotiate a coalition, after which the new parliament will convene to choose a president.

Crucially, Malema clarified that the EFF would not insist on the removal of President Cyril Ramaphosa as a precondition for coalition talks. This stance marks a departure from previous EFF demands and signals a pragmatic approach to coalition negotiations.
“Our principles remain non-negotiable,” Malema asserted, referencing the EFF’s seven cardinal pillars, which include economic freedom, service delivery on land, jobs, water, electricity, sanitation, and care for people with disabilities. “These schools, built across the nation, represent our unwavering commitment to providing modern facilities and resources for learners and teachers in rural and remote areas.”
Mnangagwa emphasized the significance of these developments, stating, “This significant milestone underscores our dedication to advancing education and ensuring that every child in Zimbabwe has access to quality learning environments. Together, we are building a brighter future for our nation.”
However, observers are skeptical of Mnangagwa’s claims. Critics argue that these pronouncements are a reflection of sheer grandstanding, pointing out the dissonance between the President’s statements and the actual state of the education sector.

It is also a lie that I ever called for sanctions. The ones who called for sanctions are the current regime in Zimbabwe.
They perpetuate evil in the eyes of the world, and the civilized world responds in equal measure.
Stop repression against the defenseless people of Zimbabwe.
Stop human rights abuses.
Stop using lawfare against opponents.
Stop recalling our elected representatives from Parliament.
Stop abductions and the murder of political opponents, like what happened to Pastor Tapfumaneyi Masaya.
Stop propaganda and false accusations against political opponents.
Stop sponsoring violence and disruptions against opposition legitimate political activities.

By Political Reporter- Zanu PF senior member and Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi has confirmed that political party funds will be disbursed to the Tshabangu faction of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
Initially, the funds were intended for the CCC faction, which was aligned with Nelson Chamisa, as it is the party with elected members of Parliament.
However, Ziyambi has stated that the government prefers Tshabangu’s faction.
“There were delays [in disbursing the funds] because the Minister of Finance [Economic Development and Investment Promotion, Professor Mthuli Ncube] was not available. Once the processes have been completed, we will disburse the funds soon,” Ziyambi told the state media. “The recipient of the funds was determined [in Parliament] and it is the opposition [faction] with the majority of members in Parliament.”
Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Jacob Mudenda has also indicated that Tshabangu is now recognized as the leader of the opposition in Parliament.
This follows Mudenda’s decision to rescind the appointments of CCC legislators to various parliamentary committees, noting that their secondment was by Jemason. Timba.
According to the Political Parties (Finance) Act, only the ruling party Zanu-PF and CCC qualify to receive a share of the funding.

The Electoral Commission of South Africa confirmed that 100% of the international votes have been counted. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) received 4.4% of the diaspora votes, while the African National Congress (ANC) garnered 3.92%.
A total of 58,802 South Africans living abroad were registered to vote in this election. However, the voter turnout was 67%, with 39,116 votes cast, of which 32 were spoilt ballots. The highest number of votes came from South Africans residing in the United Kingdom, reflecting a significant expatriate community’s engagement in the electoral process.

The latest blow to Tshabangu is the refusal by Midlands Province Senator Sesel Zvidzai to the position of Deputy Chief Whip for the opposition in the Senate.
Zvidzai was among more than a dozen CCC lawmakers who were appointed to various committees by Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the party’s Interim Secretary General.
He was the Chief Whip in the Senate before Parliament cancelled appointments that had been made by Jameson Timba, on the basis that he had no right (Locus standi) to make the appointments.
Zvidzai rejected the latest appointment, adding that he is not available to serve in the position. He said:
On a point of privilege Mr. President Sir… I would like to inform you and the House of my unavailability to serve as Deputy Chief Whip in the Senate. I thank you.
The Member of Parliament for Harare West, Joanah Mamombe also publicly distanced herself from the appointments made by Tshabangu, arguing that Nelson Chamisa appointed her.
The Parliament of Zimbabwe has hitherto refused to entertain anyone else when dealing with the opposition except Tshabangu.
Tshabangu, an obscure opposition activist, wrote to Parliament and the Ministry of Local Government in October 2023, recalling several CCC MPs and Councillors.
Surprisingly, both Parliament and the Minister acted upon Tshabangu’s letters, even though he had neither held a CCC office nor been a candidate in the 2023 general elections.
Subsequently, Tshabangu recalled dozens of additional CCC councillors and MPs, with the courts endorsing his actions, effectively establishing him as the de facto leader of the opposition party.
This week, Tshabangu changed the party’s leadership in Parliament and also appointed himself Leader of The Opposition.
This came after Parliament rescinded the appointments that were made by Jameson Timba in February this year.

By Political Reporter- Vice President Kembo Mohadi collapsed on Thursday while delivering a lecture at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ).
Mohadi, 74, was reportedly in the middle of his address when he suddenly appeared disoriented and asked for water.
A local online portal reported that his knees buckled shortly after, prompting his aides to rush to his aid. According to a witness cited by the online newspaper, “He couldn’t stand, so they helped him to a chair. He spoke briefly afterward, but following animated backstage discussions, his presentation was cut short.”
Mohadi’s aides from the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) ordered journalists covering the event to stop filming and taking pictures.
Mohadi was delivering a lecture titled “Liberation Movements and African Unity: Why Resilience Matters for Sustained Transformative Possibilities.”
Later that day, he was notably absent when President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga attended the launch of 17 schools in Chikomba, constructed with assistance from the OPEC Fund for International Development.
Presidential spokesperson George Charamba stated that Mohadi was away throughout the day and requested more time to gather the facts.
A ZANU PF official present at the event clarified to ZimLive, “He was reading his speech and then he asked for water. He had to be helped to sit down. He then continued his speech while seated. He did not necessarily collapse. In essence, he broke the collapse.”

Police in Dennilton, Sekhukhune District have arrested a 33-year-old woman after she allegedly shot and killed her husband.
According to the preliminary information, the violence ensued after the suspect found out about her husband’s infidelity which was taking place on the same rental premises.
She then fetched her husband’s licensed firearm and started firing several shots at him while he was trying to escape. Unfortunately, the 32-year-old victim was shot and he collapsed on the street.
Police and emergency medical services upon arrival, they found the victim lying in a pool of blood and he was certified dead. The firearm believed to have been used to commit the crime was found on the scene and was confiscated for further investigation.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the couple is originally from Kwazulu Natal province and they were both educators at different schools around Dennilton.

BREAKING NEWS: PASTOR SENTENCED FOR KILLING HIS WIFE
The Polokwane high court on Thursday sentenced a 31-year-old man from Bolobedu to life imprisonment for the murder of a woman in 2021.
Ngwako Elvis Selowa-Makhotoka, a businessman and pastor from Jesus Christ Grace Ministries in Kuranta village, shot dead Thabiso Lethube Masie on August 7 2021.
Masie and her friend were driving from Shikiming village when they came across the accused and his friend, who pretended their vehicle had broken down and they needed assistance. The accused and the deceased were known to each other.
“The deceased stopped her car and alighted to find out if the accused [had problems] with his car; that’s when the accused shot her five times,” National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said.
Selowa-Makhotoka instructed his friend to mislead the police about the identity of the person who shot Masie and to clean up her vehicle to eliminate possible fingerprints and gun residue by using methylated spirits.
The friend of the accused later became a section 204 state witness.
Selowa-Makhotoka had been on the run for two months when he was arrested at a filling station near Polokwane.

By A Correspondent| A Magistrate at Chivi Magistrate’s Court is at the centre of a storm, setting the National Prosecuting Authority and the Judicial Services Commission on a collision course.
This comes after the magistrate, Caroline Tafira Nyoni allegedly caused the arrest of two senior prosecutors at the court for asking for an adjournment and ammending a charge sheet which the Prosecutors Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) described as intimidation and harrasment.
The two prosecutors Phinos Kwangwari and Kudzai Dhemba have since been freed after their prosecution was declined at Masvingo Magistrate’s Court.
They had been charged with contempt of court and criminal abuse of duty with the police alleging that they had misled the court by stating that a suspect had been arrested for dealing in 20 litres of diesel yet they had 60 litres.
In a statement, PAZ said it was “deeply concerned by the arrest and harassment of two public prosecutors stationed at Chivi Magistrates Court including the Public Prosecutor in Charge” for executing their duties.
“Allegations that occasioned their arrest arise from a matter which was procedurally vetted and properly placed before the court; be that as it may, the Prosecutors are being charged with abuse of public office emanating from properly amending and drafting a charge sheet and State Outline of the State Case and Asking for an adjournment during court proceedings Prosecutors Association of Zimbabwe notes with concern that these allegations arise from the conduct of prosecutors during the course of their work.
“Prosecutors are guaranteed protection by the law and constitution of the Republic of Zimbabwe to execute their duties without fear of harassment, intimidation or threats of being arrested in conducting their duties.
“The incident in Chivi Magistrates is therefore worrying and distressing. “Prosecutors Association of Zimbabwe applauds the decision made not to place the two prosecutors on remand on the allegations emanating from the course and confinements of their duties,” the letter reads.
Sources close to the developments told this publication that this is not the first time that the same magistrate has found herself in similar controversy, one of which led to her being transferred from Mberengwa court.

By A Correspondent| In a strange revelation which came out in court, police officers were reportedly flown to Kanyemba by owners of a safari in the Zambezi Valley to arrest a rival, William Terrence Kelly who is the managing director of Chewore Lodges.
Kelly is standing trial on allegations of illegally entering Big Five safaris and stealing motion cameras and deleting data.
It is alleged that he illegally entered the estate and stole the camera which monitored movements where professional hunter Clifton Walker with the help of national parks officials had set bait for a hunt.
He has denied the allegations and believes there is malice around his arrest amid reports that the matter was initially declined prosecution at Guruve magistrates court.
He argued that he did not enter the estate illegally as it is his property given to him by Parks authorities in terms of a lease agreement signed in 2017 and the said hunting by Walker was illegal and poaching which he was preventing.
He argued that Big Five’s lease expired in 2021 and according to a clause in the lease it was not to be renewed and his granted him authority to get part of the estate.
His lawyer Mr Everson Chatambudza made the revelation that cops were flown to arrest his client by a plane from Big Five while cross examining a State witness Charles Kanda an official from parks. “Are you aware that the matter was reported at Kanyemba police station and the Docket was compiled and taken to Guruve magistrate court were prosecution was denied?”
He added that Kelly was arrested at night and transported to the police station in a boat also owned by Big Five through the prohibited Zambezi River’s Mapata gorge which Kanda admitted prohibited sailing.
The defence also said the witnesses were being sponsored by Big Five to come to court and also their stay in Harare.
He said his conduct is not consistent with someone stealing the camera as he alerted officials of the camera and took it to parks officials who refused to take it before taking it to the police.

In fact, we hear the goat and the leopard are having secret talks behind the scenes, breaking bread together and clasping high fives in cosy, animated conversations.
We are not sure yet what offspring will be bred from their confirmed consensual mating that is happening well outside the public glare.and taking place without the consent and blessings of the parents, in this case the citizens.
Zanu PF has always tried to destroy every genuine opposition political party in Zimbabwe since the heady days of ZAPU, which they later ingloriously assimilated in 1987.
With the MDC they tried and failed dismally.
We saw them assimilating and decimating the MDC Alliance and lately the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) where both the captured institutions of Parliament and the Courts conspired with Zanu PF, in the latter case to donate the party to a charlatan called Sengezo Tshabangu.
Judging by what has been happening in the past few months, it is now clear that many in the democratic movement have been bribed and have fallen for trinkets and trappings.
Only a few of us can stand proud that our political hearts are not buyable;; are not purchasable because we turned down these trappings.
In the fullness of time, and with an arrogant smugness, some of us will be able to boldly stare history in the face for standing firm in the unstinting conviction that values are more enduring then temporary material benefit and convenience.
But if anyone was still living under the illusion that the CCC is still a credible brand and not a poisoned chalice , they need look no further than Jacob Mudenda’s spirited vitriol early this week against the CCC parliamentary component led by Jameson Zvidzai Timba.
It was very clear that in the tussle for control over the carcass called the CCC, Mudenda, and by extension Zanu PF, have a dog in the fight.
And their dog is not Timba but Tshabangu, who will most certainly receive the political party funding that is due to the CCC under the Political Parties Finance Act.
And Mudenda was basically speaking in the corner of Sengezo Tshabangu who “the system” is now officially recognising, as the genuine personification of the CCC, despite him being an extension of themselves.
Jacob Mudenda’s utterance that as Speaker of Parliament he will brook no instruction from anyone in the CCC but Tshabangu with regards to committee chairpersons and any other parliamentary business was a confirmation of the obvious.
It was simply a sonorous endorsement, yet tagain, of Sengezo, this celebrated political harlot of our time.
Dear reader, kindly note that officially there is no longer any credible opposition party in Zimbabwe.
Zanu PF is strenuously fighting in Tshabangu’s corner.
It is also naive for Timba and company to continue to believe that they can still sustain a brand called CCC outside of Zanu PF’s firm clutches of control
The CCC brand has simply become a poisoned chalice.
It has become a rotten, stinking carcass of what once was.
Why would Zanu PF speak so glowingly in support of a genuine opposition, as Mudenda did early this week while lauding Tshabangu as the main man?
Dear reader, don’t be fooled. Mudenda was not speaking as Speaker of Parliament, that was just a convenient cover-up. He was speaking as ZANU PF’s treasurer general, his Politburo position to which he was appointed in the deployments announced two weeks ago.
So that was a political statement from Zanu PF through Mudemda telling us who their man was.
Just why would the leopard defend and so meticulously prepare the maternity ward for a pregnant goat, without seeking to devour it right from the outset tin line with what we have traditionally known of their predator-prey relationship?
In fact, as I stated earlier, we are even hearing that there is consensual dialogue taking place between the leopard and the goat. Since when did leopards and goats start attending the same Holy Communion in the cosy manner that is now so palpable.
If theirs is genuine and sincere dialogue, why is it outside a known roadmap as the last one this country had that was facilitated by SADC in 2007/8?
Who is facilitating this one? Just where is the framework, where and from who was the mandate for such dialogue derived?
In fact, I would posit that by dialoguing with surrogates, , ZANU PF is basically speaking to itself. Purporting to dialogue with Tshabangu and his ilk is a crude form of masturbation., of Zanu PF doing it to and by itself.,
Yet we have seen other similarly pampered goats that were later devoured by the leopard and left no trace in the political grasslands.
Thokozani Khupe and one Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora were two such goats that were initially pampered by the leopard before the capricious fate of irrelevance visited them.
Sengezo Tshabangu may in the meantime enjoy his hour in the leopard’s maternity ward but it is only a matter of time before similar fate visits him.

By A Correspondent | Hwange, Zimbabwe — In a shocking turn of events, Stanley Siampongo (48), the Officer in Charge at the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Kamativi station, appeared before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court on charges of assaulting a female subordinate.
The incident, which has stirred significant outrage within the community, reportedly occurred on February 21, 2024. According to court documents, the 44-year-old complainant was instructed to begin her duties in the charge office at 6:00 AM on February 22, 2024. However, she reported for duty two hours later at 8:00 AM.
Following this delay, the complainant, along with another colleague, was summoned to Siampongo’s office. During the meeting, when questioned about her tardiness, the complainant’s explanation did not satisfy Siampongo. It is alleged that Siampongo then assaulted her, striking her with his fists. The assault continued even as she attempted to flee, with Siampongo pursuing her to the administration block and continuing the attack.
The brutal assault prompted immediate action, leading to the filing of a police report and the subsequent arrest of Siampongo. The case has drawn widespread condemnation from both the public and human rights organizations, who have called for swift justice and strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, but sources indicate that an internal investigation is underway.

BREAKING NEWS: Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has confirmed that Lesedi Molapisi a Botswana national, who was arrested for drug trafficking in Bangladesh in 2022, has been sentenced to death.
In a dramatic turn of events in Nyawisa village, Lucky Chingwengwe, 19, was brought before the Karoi Magistrate Court on charges of stock theft.
The incident, which has left the community both shocked and bemused, highlights the lengths to which some individuals might go to fulfill traditional customs.
On the evening of April 12, 2024, the court heard, the complainant had penned his cattle at Dabvu homestead and returned home for the night.
Under the cover of darkness, Chingwengwe allegedly sneaked into the complainant’s kraal and untied a black cow with curved horns. His motive was clear: to use the stolen cow as lobola, a traditional bride price.
The plan unraveled when Ian Wamiridza, who had come into possession of the cow, was questioned.
Upon further probing, Wamiridza revealed that Chingwengwe had brought the beast to him, thus linking Chingwengwe directly to the theft.
In court, Chingwengwe faced the consequences of his actions. Found guilty of the crime, he was sentenced to nine years in jail.
The sentence underscores the serious nature of stock theft in rural communities, where livestock is a valuable and vital asset.

Turfloop, Mankweng – An Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member was allegedly murdered at the France Mohlala Secondary School in Tlhatlhaganya village outside Turfloop on May 27th.
The victim’s identity has not been released. The incident occurred while the person was meeting with other EFF members on the school grounds.
Police are investigating the murder, but have not provided any details on suspects or a potential motive.

THREE Beitbridge-based police officers who robbed an unsuspecting victim of a Toyota Prado at gunpoint have been jailed for 10 years.
Admore Nyamaropa, Andrew Magwenzi and Prince Kuchekenya were each sentenced to a ten-year jail term.
Four years of Nyamaropa’s sentence were suspended based on the fact that he was injured and will be a burden to other inmates.

Khama Billiat’s return to the Warriors fold hit a brick wall because of the former Kaizer Chiefs’ reluctance to publicly announce that he would come out of retirement.
The 33-year-old Mufakose-bred winger, who returned to local football and joined ambitious Yadah following more than a decade of stardom in South Africa, quit international football in November 2021.
When he was unveiled by Yadah, Billiat hinted a return to the Warriors fold.
A source at ZIFA told Soccer24 that Billiat was considered when the Warriors squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers was being selected but the fact that he didn’t publicly announced that he would come out of retirement, made things complicated.
“Of course Khama Billiat was wanted in the Warriors squad. Everybody has seen how good he still is.

The Football Association of Malawi has come underfire for appointing Kalisto Pasuwa as the head coach of the national U23 side.
Pasuwa, who is also the coach of defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets, was roped in this week to lead the team at the upcoming 2024 COSAFA Cup tournament in South Africa next month.
But FAM’s decision to appoint the Zimbabwean gaffer has been opposed by other sections in the country.
Rodgers Yasin, who preceded Pasuwa as the head coach of Bullets, told Malawian outlet, The Times, that the football association should have advertised the post and appoint a coach who is currently unattached to avoid disrupting the league.
He said, as cited by the publication: “I am not happy with the way his [Pasuwa’s] appointment has been made. We also have coaches in the country who have a Caf A coaching licence.
I would have loved it if they had been given a chance to apply for the job.”
Yasin denied that he had a personal vendetta against Pasuwa.
“I do not have any problem personally with Pasuwa but [I have a problem with] the procedure taken to hire him.”
Local football analyst Mathews Kimu Kamau also expressed discontent on the matter, saying:
“Much as I appreciate that Pasuwa is good but I am of the view that other local coaches should have been given a chance.
“My understanding is that Pasuwa should, after coaching Zimbabwe National Football Team and now four-time champions with Bullets, concentrate on qualifying for Caf group stages with his team after being knocked out in the preliminary round for the past four years.”
Former FAM executive member Julius Mithi echoed the same sentiments to the publication, saying the FA should have gone for a local coach.
He said: “It is unprofessional and uncalled for. I do not believe that this is happening. If the manifesto of the current president stated that now we would be having national coaches for under-17, 20 and 23 teams with different panels, I see no reason for them to appoint Pasuwa, who has his own club [Bullets].
“Currently, Bullets is not doing well and I do not think the board can accept his appointment.
We have so many local coaches who have not tasted the responsibility of coaching any national team but they are very good coaches. Let them appoint a local coach who has no club.”
In a bold move, Zanu PF hardliners have openly declared that the affiliates supporting Emmerson Mnangagwa, popularly known as “For ED…” are not legitimate party structures.

This translates to, “Indeed, the party needs to be structured properly; we must have proper Zanu PF structures and not allow affiliates to appear as if they are the actual party structures.”
The criticism highlights a growing tension within Zanu PF between those who support traditional party structures and those who favor the inclusion of newer, less conventional supporters.

Turfloop, Mankweng – An Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) member was allegedly murdered at the France Mohlala Secondary School in Tlhatlhaganya village outside Turfloop on May 27th.
The victim’s identity has not been released. The incident occurred while the person was meeting with other EFF members on the school grounds.
Police are investigating the murder, but have not provided any details on suspects or a potential motive.

“My call to action to you is: Let us all commit to working together to build a more prosperous Zimbabwe. Let us embrace collaboration as a key driver of our economic success. For once, let us put aside our differences because a thriving economy benefits us all,” he said, “It is no secret that we have faced economic challenges in recent years, including high inflation, currency instability, and limited access to foreign capital. These challenges have hampered business growth and job creation. However, I am firmly convinced that we can overcome these obstacles and build a brighter future. But I cannot do it alone, and you cannot do it alone. Collaboration is essential for our success.”
Mr Sharpe challenged Zimbabweans to align their mindsets towards working together, realising that their success lies in their hands and that no one else is coming to save them.
“We are our own saviors; however, to save ourselves, we need to start working together and collaborate,” he stated.
To successfully build a thriving economy, Mr. Sharpe advocated for creating a supportive and enabling environment for businesses through public-private partnerships (PPP).
He cited the PPP that WestProp Holdings has with the City of Harare as a prime example. “We have our own public-private partnership with the City of Harare for the development of The Hills Lifestyle Estate – a US$ 300 million project that will bring a world-class, USGA spec golf course to our country as well as luxurious branded residences – a first in Zimbabwe. We recently broke ground,” he said.
Mr. Sharpe further highlighted the potential of the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) as another successful collaborative venture.
“The VFEX is a regional stock exchange that allows companies from Zimbabwe and other African countries to raise capital and nurture mutually-beneficial business relationships. This collaboration between Zimbabwe and other countries has the potential to boost investment and economic growth across the region,” he noted.
