In a bold and impassioned statement, Bishop Ancelimo Magaya, the founder of Grace Ablaze Ministry International, has castigated the Zanu PF regime in Zimbabwe for what he perceives as a systematic dismantling of the opposition.
The outspoken bishop, known for his unwavering stance on justice and morality, has called on leaders from various spheres to introspect and condemn the alleged atrocities committed by the government.
A Call to Soul Search
Bishop Magaya emphasizes that anyone, regardless of position in the church, politics, civic society, or even within the ruling Zanu PF, who turns a blind eye to the unfolding events or fails to condemn them is guilty of intellectual dishonesty and self-deception.
He sternly labels such individuals as not only cowardly but also idolatrous, warning of potential condemnation alongside other sinners.
The bishop highlights a litany of concerning incidents, including abductions, killings, recalls of MPs, and the recent inflammatory remarks by Mr. Mutsvangwa, insinuating the arrest of Advocate Chamisa. He contends that these actions constitute blatant wickedness, and any indifference to such matters is tantamount to actively supporting oppression.
Condemnation of Wickedness
Bishop Magaya argues that remaining neutral in the face of injustice is comparable to witnessing a person being brutally beaten with their hands tied, yet doing nothing.
He asserts that indifference on the grounds of non-partisanship is, in fact, a tacit endorsement of wickedness. Drawing a parallel with historical events, he warns against the dangers of conniving with repressive systems, citing examples like Kasukuwere, J. Moyo, and Chombo.
The bishop invokes the importance of finding safety and security in Christ amid tumultuous times, emphasizing that only through His saving grace and upright living can individuals hope to navigate the challenges presented by political turmoil.
Strategic Ambiguity and Unholy Alliances
While acknowledging that strategic ambiguity may have failed as a doctrine, Bishop Magaya contends that this failure doesn’t justify forming unholy alliances with the parliament, judiciary, and ZEC.
He urges leaders to rise above political affiliations and condemn the actions witnessed in Zimbabwe, even if they may have reservations about Advocate Chamisa.
In a poignant plea for unity, the bishop questions when Zimbabweans will learn to speak truthfully to each other and engage in constructive dialogue for the sake of the nation. He expresses the pain of seeing predictions made by Ian Smith about Zimbabwe’s liberators coming to pass, imploring, “God save Zimbabwe.”
Bishop Magaya’s statement serves as a powerful call to conscience, challenging leaders and citizens alike to confront the injustices and work towards a united, truthful, and just Zimbabwe.
In a surprising turn of events, President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe recently engaged in a clandestine meeting with the country’s Ambassador to Italy in Rome over the weekend.
Mnangagwa, known for his secretive and unpredictable nature, demonstrated his ability to navigate political waters discreetly.
The rendezvous took place at 2248HRS Rome time, just 12 minutes before the stroke of midnight in Zimbabwe.
His Excellency, upon his arrival, swiftly departed the plane and headed straight to a dinner honoring visiting African Heads of State attending the Italy-Africa Summit.
However, the cloak of secrecy unfolded as Mnangagwa seized the late hour to receive a comprehensive country briefing from Ambassador Chauke.
The timing of the meeting, under the cover of darkness, raises intriguing questions about the nature of the discussions that transpired.
As the clock ticked towards midnight, the President delved into crucial matters with Ambassador Chauke, potentially shedding light on undisclosed diplomatic affairs or strategic initiatives.
The expeditious briefing aimed to prepare Mnangagwa for a packed schedule the following day, commencing at 0800HRS.
This urgency hints at the significance of the topics discussed during the nocturnal meeting, suggesting a level of preparedness required for the President’s early-morning engagements.
The mysterious nature of Mnangagwa’s actions adds an element of suspense to his diplomatic maneuvers.
Observers and analysts are left speculating on the undisclosed matters that unfolded during the late-night briefing.
The secrecy surrounding the meeting may fuel speculation and rumors, contributing to the enigma that shrouds Mnangagwa’s leadership style.
While the President’s participation in the Italy-Africa Summit and subsequent meetings is part of his diplomatic responsibilities, the after-hours, behind-the-scenes discussions showcase a side of Mnangagwa that remains elusive to the public eye.
As the events continue to unfold, the curious circumstances surrounding this nocturnal meeting leave room for speculation and interpretation, offering a glimpse into the intricate world of international diplomacy and the strategies employed by leaders like Mnangagwa.
By A Correspondent| Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) Spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi has promised an explosive season where his party will confront among others issues that forced party leader Nelson Chamisa to walk away from the movement he formed in 2022.
Posting on X formerly Twitter, Mkwananzi said in the coming days they will fight for the local government ministry to effect recalls on Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume and others.
He said they will also fight that their candidates who were barred from contesting in the 3 February by-elections be allowed to participate in line with national laws.
“In the coming days, we are going to fight for the following items: That the recall letter submitted by the party to the ministry of local government, public works and national housing on Monday the 15th of January 2023 be expedited and effected,” said Mkwananzi.
“That our candidates for the 3rd of February 2023 by-elections who are about to be unlawfully barred from participating be allowed to contest in line with the laws of Zimbabwe. It is a paradox that purported opposition leaders are at the forefront of barring fellow opposition leaders from contesting,” added Mkwananzi.
He added that they will also fight to have Proportional representatives in senate, parliament and council reinstated.
“That all our Proportional Representatives in senate, parliament and council who were unlawfully recalled be retained as they had been selected by our leader and President Advocate Nelson Chamisa after the 23rd of August 2023 disputed elections,” said Mkwananzi.
Finally, Mkwananzi said they want former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala unconditionally released from prison and compensated for wrongful arrest and illegal detention.
“That Hon Job Sikhala be immediately and unconditionally released from prison and compensated for the wrongful arrest and illegal detention,” Mkwananzi added.
By A Correspondent| Zimbabwe has once again been plunged into a judicial scandal, echoing concerns raised back in 2018.
The recent demand for the resignation of Deputy Chief Justice Elizabeth Gwaunza and Supreme Court judges Antonia Guvava and Chinembiri Bhunu by Tendai Mashamhanda, son of Mashwede Holdings owner Alex Mashamanda, highlights allegations of corruption and violations of ethical regulations within the judiciary.
Similar to the 2018 revelations made by Acting Prosecutor General Kumbirai Hodzi, who exposed a justice system capture cartel involving police officers, lawyers, prosecutors, magistrates, and judges, the current situation involves Mashamhanda accusing the mentioned judges of accepting false evidence in an appeal case. This draws parallels with Hodzi’s claim of a powerful cartel corrupting the justice system in Zimbabwe.
The 2018 article reveals Hodzi’s assertion that the justice system is compromised by a syndicate with significant influence, prepared to resort to extreme measures, including attempts on Hodzi’s life. This echoes the current allegations by Mashamhanda, suggesting a recurring theme of corruption within the judicial system.
Both cases highlight the erosion of professionalism and ethical standards within the judiciary, with Mashamhanda citing “gross elementary errors of facts and misleading statements” in the Supreme Court judgment. Similarly, Hodzi pointed out an erosion of professionalism and corruption among lawyers and officers involved in the justice system in 2018.
The demand for judges’ resignations and the exposure of alleged fraudulent practices in the recent case parallel the call for “brutal” measures to disrupt the cartel made by Hodzi in 2018. Both instances underscore the need to confront corruption within the justice system head-on.
It appears that Zimbabwe is grappling with persistent challenges related to judicial ethics and corruption, with the recent allegations echoing concerns raised in 2018, indicating an ongoing struggle for transparency and integrity within the country’s legal institutions.
Prolific lawyer and legislator, Job Sikhala, and his co-accused, former Chitungwiza North Member of Parliament Godfrey Sithole, will be sentenced today on a charge of inciting the public violence that broke out in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza in 2022 after Ms Moreblessing Ali was murdered by a former boyfriend. Yesterday, the State presented evidence in aggravation and the defence in mitigation.
Appearing for the State was Mr Ephraim Zinyandu while Mr Jeremiah Bamu and Mr Harrison Nkomo were representing Sikhala. Mr Oliver Marwa represented Sithole.
The two were convicted after a full trial by Harare magistrate Mrs Tafadzwa Miti.
In aggravation, Mr Zinyandu submitted that the first impact of this offence was that there was public violence that took place that resulted in the destruction of property.
“Once public violence of this nature takes place, there is bound to be insecurity amongst the citizens, especially those who live in the area where it took place. The other impact is the unnecessary use of police resources towards the quelling of public violence. This will also result in loss of confidence among potential investors because there is no investor who wants to do business in a country where there is violence,” he said.
The State was alive to the fact that Sikhala has been in custody for almost a year and 9 months but the court has to take into account the impact of the offence on society as some people lost their property.
In mitigation, Mr Nkomo sought just a fine as Sikhala was a family man who had many dependents and had lost opportunities when he was in prison.
“The defence proposes a wholly suspended prison term to the accused. In the unlikely event that the court decides that the wholly suspended sentence does not meet the circumstances, we propose a fine of level 6 (US$300).
“Despite the State’s claims, we submit that there is no iota of aggravation. The first accused has 12 legal dependents. We cannot mention the other dependents of the extended families. Livelihoods of 23 people look up to the accused. The accused is a legal practitioner and a former legislator — the title that he lost upon his incarceration as he could not contest in the 2023 elections. He has been relegated from being an MP to a regular citizen.”
Mr Marwa told the court it had to consider that Sithole had 50 children that he paid school fees for through a trust and if imprisoned they will be affected negatively.
The state claims that Sikhala posted a video on social media encouraging CCC supporters to avenge Moreblessing Ali’s death and then hired lorries to ferry people from Epworth and other surrounding areas in Chitungwiza to Nyatsime.
According to the State, 20 families were left homeless following the violence, while 13 shops, six tuck-shops and vehicles were extensively damaged after CCC supporters ran amok, indiscriminately attacking residents of Nyatsime.- Agencies
President Emmerson Mnangagwa and self-proclaimed Citizens Coalition for Change Secretary General’s lawyers Lewis Uriri and Nqobani Sithole were yesterday spotted at the court appearance of Job Sikhala.
The two’s appearance has raised eyebrows with some hinting that they could be emissaries of Mnangagwa sent to broker a deal with Sikhala.
Others have ruled any deal claiming that the two attended the court just like other Zimbabweans and lawyers in solidarity with Sikhala who is also a lawyer.
Meanwhile, Sikhala will be back in court today for sentencing following his conviction of inciting public violence.
Former Citizens Coalition for Change legislator, Job Sikhala will be back in court Tuesday afternoon for sentencing following his conviction of inciting public violence.
Sikhala who has been in pretrial detention for over 500 days will be sentenced together with fellow legislator Godfrey Sithole.
ZimEye will give you an update of the court proceedings. Keep refreshing this page
By Political Reporter- There is now serious infighting in the Sengezo Tshabangu-led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) as some of his backers are now baying for his blood, accusing him of being captured following the statement he released after Nelson Chamisa dumped the opposition party.
In response to Chamisa’s statement announcing his resignation on Thursday last week, Tshabangu said the CCC leadership had resolved that power and authority would collectively reside in the national leadership elected at the MDC Alliance Gweru national congress held in 2019. CCC steering committee chairperson Dingilizwe Tshuma dismissed Tshabangu’s statement saying it was null and void. In his statement last week, Tshabangu said the CCC leadership elected at the Gweru congress had convened an emergency meeting to consider both the contents of Chamisa’s statement and its immediate implications. He also claimed that the leadership had appointed vice-president Lynette Karenyi-Kore as the leader of opposition in Parliament. But Karenyi-Kore refused to take up the position while backing Chamisa. However, Tshuma said the 2019 structure was nullified by the court that gave the MDC to Thokozani Khupe and eventually to Douglas Mwonzora.“He has been captured. Where was this collective leadership all along when recalls started? Why is it emerging now? In any event, they have made statements distancing themselves from the SG. They are correct because they did not appoint him. “It was in the steering committee that appointed him. So, we expect our SG as they appointed him to come and account for his statement. So, the interim steering committee distances itself completely from his statements,” Tshuma said. Tshabangu spokesperson Khaliphani Phungeni lamented the death of democracy in Zimbabwe.“It is a bad day for democracy, one that could have been avoided. We needed an adult in the room, unfortunately, both parties had to take responsibility for the call up because at some stage they talked about negotiations,” he said. “There was a time when pastors were deployed, and no one is now referring to that dialogue. We should not be this radical with this people’s project.“The SG is saying they are trying to stabilise the party. It’s not all lost, they are trying to negotiate with the change champion-in-chief and we are hopeful that there is still room for negotiations.”

By Political Reporter- The sinking citizens’ Coalition For Change has shifted its goals on its position on the appointment of Promise Mkwananzi as the party’s new leader.
There was a statement purportedly issued on the 28th of January 2024 by the party announcing the appointment of Mkwanazi as the new CCC leader.
Tshabangu quickly disassociated himself from the statement, saying that there was no such an appointment.
In a fiery response to a recent Zanu PF media briefing, former MDC-T Member of Parliament, Hon Jeffryson Chitando, has vehemently criticized the ruling party’s stance on key political developments in Zimbabwe.
In a press release, Chitando dismissed the Zanu PF briefing as misleading and raised concerns about the state of democracy in the country.
The former MP did not mince words, starting his critique with a metaphorical headline, “Breaking News From The Devil!!!!,” highlighting the gravity he attaches to the issues at hand.
Drawing a parallel to the world of sensationalism, Chitando likened the situation to a satanic press conference, emphasizing the significance of the revelations he was about to unfold.
Chitando questioned the credibility of a recent press conference held by Zanu PF, where the ruling party defended the election process following the SADC Election Observer Mission’s report, led by Dr. Muumba.
The report raised concerns about election rigging, incompetence, irregularities, and incredibility.
Chitando accused Zanu PF of using such platforms to deflect blame and downplay legitimate concerns about the electoral process.
The former MP also delved into the internal dynamics of opposition politics, highlighting the resignation of President Advocate Pastor Nelson Nehemiah Chamisa from the CCC.
Chitando claimed that Chamisa’s resignation was prompted by the alleged capture, hijack, and infiltration of state institutions into the opposition party.
He pointed out the irony of the first person to defend Chamisa against resignation, hinting at potential ulterior motives behind the scenes.
Chitando continued his scathing critique by addressing the recalls within the opposition party, asserting that they were orchestrated by President Mnangagwa to secure a 2/3 majority.
He argued that these recalls had little to do with primary elections or party structures, emphasizing Mnangagwa’s perceived fear of a strong opposition that could expose what Chitando labeled as “incapacitation, inability, mismanagement, and dictatorship.”
The former MP concluded with a rallying cry, referencing a local proverb, “Rova chidhoma kana uchida kuona Mai vacho!!!” loosely translated as “Kick the beehive if you want to see the queen bees.”
This metaphorical expression implies a call to action against oppressive forces and a challenge to those who may doubt the assertions made by Chitando.
In presenting this perspective, Hon Jeffryson Chitando positions himself as a vocal critic of the current political landscape, advocating for transparency, accountability, and positive change in Zimbabwe.

Zanu PF’s cyber team, Varakashi, has boldly declared ownership of Zimbabwe, asserting control and signaling an unwillingness to relinquish power.
The party’s Operation Restore Legacy, posted on Facebook, proclaimed, “ZANU PF ndoinema tittle deeds eZimbabwe. Good Night Zimbabwe.”
The ominous statement was accompanied by a threat to arrest opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa, with a chilling reference to Statehouse and Chikurubi.
The assertion raises concerns about the political climate and the potential use of power to suppress opposition.
In a heartfelt statement, opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has laid bare the relentless challenges faced by the MDC Alliance and its subsequent iterations, including the current threat to his life.
Reflecting on a tumultuous journey, Chamisa expressed gratitude to the people of Zimbabwe for their unwavering support.
The political turbulence began in 2018 when the MDC-T was forcibly taken away and handed to another faction.
Undeterred, Chamisa and his supporters regrouped, forming the MDC Alliance.
However, their resilience was met with further adversity in 2020 when the MDC Alliance itself was seized, along with its headquarters, assets, finances, and political party funding.
A strategic move to recall over 25 MDC Alliance MPs from Parliament aimed to leave Chamisa politically exposed.
Undaunted by these setbacks, Chamisa then founded the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) from scratch in response to the political challenges.
Yet, the struggles persisted as 2023 saw the CCC also taken away and handed to another entity, a creation of those in power.
This series of actions appeared to be a systematic effort to degrade, demean, defocus, weaken, and ultimately destroy Chamisa’s political influence.
In an alarming turn of events, Chamisa revealed that, in 2024, he faces not only political threats but also a menacing danger to his life. Despite the adversities, he stands resolute, stating, “I have no regrets whatsoever!! Our cause is just – A better life for everyone. Dignity for everyone. Happiness for everyone. Freedom for everyone.”
Chamisa emphasizes that the struggles are not his alone but a collective battle for a just and democratic society.
Ending on a note of faith, he invokes the hashtag #Godisinit, asserting that the author and giver of life will determine the ultimate outcome.
Chamisa remains optimistic, proclaiming, “Our day is soon coming!!! God bless you!”
The statement underscores the ongoing challenges faced by political opposition in Zimbabwe and raises concerns about the state of democracy in the nation.
In a desperate move, Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-declared CCC interim Secretary, has announced new appointments within the party’s leadership.
Tshabangu declared Nqobizitha Mlilo as the new spokesperson for CCC, with Caston Matewu serving as the deputy spokesperson.
In a statement released by Tshabangu, he outlined the party’s commitment to rebuilding its structures as a foundational step towards achieving democratic goals.
“The decision to appoint Cde Mlilo as the head of communications reflects a deliberate effort to enhance the party’s public relations and messaging capabilities,” said Tshabangu.
He further claimed, “We’re unstoppable and with unity, we’ll succeed.”
Tshabangu also clarified certain leadership positions within CCC, notably addressing the role of Madam Lynette Karenyi-Kore.
According to Tshabangu, there was a unanimous agreement within the party that Madam Kore would serve as the leader of the opposition in Parliament.
Karenyi-Kore has not formally responded to the said appointment.
He highlighted her acceptance of the role, signaling a collective readiness to face the tasks ahead.
In a nail-biting Africa Cup of Nations last-16 encounter at San Pedro on Sunday, Congo DR emerged victorious in a thrilling 8-7 penalty shootout against Egypt.
The tension escalated after a 1-1 draw, with Egypt’s goalkeeper Mohamed Abou Gabal missing a crucial penalty, hitting the crossbar.
Lionel Mpasi, his counterpart, capitalized on the opportunity, leading to Egypt’s exit from the tournament.
Meschack Elia initially gave DR Congo the lead with a close-range header, but Mostafa Mohamed equalized with a penalty just before halftime.
Extra time saw Egypt reduced to ten men as Mohamed Hamdy received a red card.
Despite missing key player Mohamed Salah due to injury, Egypt defended resolutely, forcing the game into a shootout.
The jubilant Congolese will now face Guinea in the quarter-finals in Abidjan on Friday, marking a significant triumph and setting the stage for their upcoming challenge.
This victory holds historical weight, as it marks the first time in 50 years that DR Congo has defeated Egypt in the Africa Cup of Nations, reminiscent of their triumph in the semi-finals half a century ago when they lifted the trophy.

By Political Reporter- The country’s favourite and most popular politician, Nelson Chamisa, is receiving death threats on his life following his resignation from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).
The revelation, made in an X post on Sunday, left the details of the threats undisclosed.
Chamisa’s departure from the CCC, a party he formed just a year ago, was fueled by what he termed as the party’s hijacking, citing 84 reasons in a detailed 13-page letter.
The move came amidst relentless attacks on CCC by self-imposed secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu, who initiated recalls of CCC MPs and councillors.
Expressing gratitude for the support from Zimbabweans, Chamisa recounted a series of challenges faced by his political journey, from the MDC-T to MDC-Alliance and, most recently, CCC.
He highlighted the loss of headquarters, assets, finances, and political party funding, along with the recall of over 25 MPs from Parliament.
Despite the setbacks, Chamisa founded CCC from scratch.
In his X post, Chamisa lamented the continued efforts to degrade, demean, defocus, weaken, and destroy his political endeavors.
He went on to disclose receiving threats on his life in 2024, adding to the series of challenges he has faced.
The ongoing by-elections held last November and on February 3 aimed to fill vacant seats resulting from Tshabangu’s recalls.
Prior to Chamisa’s resignation, Tshabangu had already threatened more recalls of CCC MPs in the coming year.
Responding to the revelations, Police Spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi stated that the police were not aware of any death threats against Chamisa.
Despite the denial from the police, Chamisa’s resignation letter emphasized the challenges faced by the opposition, including infiltration from Zanu PF, allegations that the ruling party has consistently refuted.
In a separate development, ruling party spokesperson Christopher Mutsvangwa issued a threat of arrest against Chamisa over alleged misappropriation of CCC’s funds and assets on Saturday.
The political landscape in Zimbabwe remains tense as key figures engage in a war of words and legal threats.

Karenyi-Kore has not formally responded to the said appointment. He highlighted her acceptance of the role, signaling a collective readiness to face the tasks ahead.
Unprecedented Power Shift in CCC as Spokesman Declares Acting Presidency**
By Dorrothy Moyo | In an unexpected and dramatic development within the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), the party’s spokesman, Mr. Promise Mkwananzi, has declared himself the acting president. This bold move comes after the sudden resignation of Nelson Chamisa, the charismatic leader of the CCC, last week.
The announcement was made through a formal letter addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, marking a significant turn in the party’s internal dynamics. The letter, which has become a topic of intense discussion, states: “Following the resignation of our President Advocate Nelson Chamisa, this letter serves to notify you that the party has resolved that party spokesperson Mr. Promise Mkwananzi takes charge of the Party on an acting capacity until the conduction of congress in due course. This is a position agreed to by all key organs of the party. Accordingly, your esteemed offices are kindly requested to make all correspondence with and from the party through Mr. Promise Mkwananzi.”
This declaration by Mr. Mkwananzi is not just a claim of interim leadership but also an assertion of his control over the party’s communications and strategic direction. It signifies a surprising shift in power and is perceived as a preemptive move against a rival faction within the party, which is expected to announce Chamisa’s successor on Tuesday.
Nelson Chamisa’s departure had left a power vacuum in the CCC. The spokesman’s sudden claim to the presidency has added to the turbulence, raising questions about the future course of the party.
Political analysts are keenly observing the situation, noting the significant impact Chamisa had on the party and the political landscape at large. The spokesperson’s self-appointment as acting president, backed by key party organs, indicates a possible realignment of power structures within the CCC.
As the rival faction gears up to announce a new leader, the CCC stands at a pivotal point in its history. The response from other party members, supporters, and the general public to this unexpected development is yet to unfold.
The upcoming days are crucial for the CCC as it navigates this complex and rapidly evolving political scenario. The implications of these internal shifts are significant, not just for the party but also for the broader political dynamics in the region.
By- Caston Mateu, a senior member of the CCC has betrayed the former party leader Nelson Chamisa and joined Sengezo Tshabangu.
Mateu has since been appointed the deputy Tshabangu spokesperson, deputising Nqobizitha Mlilo. He further claimed, “We’re unstoppable and with unity, we’ll succeed.” Tshabangu also clarified certain leadership positions within CCC, notably addressing the role of Madam Lynette Karenyi-Kore. By Investigative Reporter | Analysis | CCC MPs who secretly connived with Emmerson Mnangagwa’s lawyer to betray their voters are ganging up with an award winning internet-Daddy-character to accuse the nation’s most popular leader Nelson Chamisa of causing their own confusion.
– Today, ZimEye resumes broadcast evidence of CCC MPs revealing that their decision to remain in parliament despite their leader @nelsonchamisa’s exit from the contaminated party, is all due to the treacherous CCC MPs’ own unilateral decisions as they work hand in hand with the terror organisation, FAZ, amid dictations/instructions from Emmerson Mnangagwa’s lawyer Lewis Uriri. The CCC MPs’ hurried decisions to work with Mnangagwa’s lawyer, have created confusion in a development that has Chamisa describing them as fraudsters and “beneficiaries of fraud.”
In the interviews being broadcast, an elected MP states unequivocally that FAZ is involved and that there is a USD5000 bribe that has been dangled.
“They then said to me, “be our foot soldier and we won’t oppose you in court. We will then announce that you are saved from the recall.” “They told me to bring US5,000 and we won’t oppose your papers,” one of the elected legislators speaks out saying.
Aside evidence uncovered by ZimEye, are LIVE recordings of Sengezo Tshabangu speaking directly to our undercover reporter, in a pile that shows that the remaining MPs chose to follow dictations by ZANU PF agents’ long drawn operation, nothing to do with Chamisa action or inaction.
All this comes as the self confessing “Daddy” thug has throughout the weekend been announcing govt newspaper Herald findings that say Nelson Chamisa has caused stagnation of action on CCC MPs who have decided to stay inside parliament because he did not consult them, are an accurate record and the work of journalism, in the face of clear revelations since Oct 2023 that show that it is in fact the CCC MPs who secretly connived with ZANU PF against Chamisa.
Meanwhile, the online-thug who makes citizens call him by a gangsterish salutation, “Daddy” proven in multiple prosecutions around the world to manipulate the will-power of rape victims, has a long 6 year history to date of instructing the military to regularly descend on Nelson Chamisa aligned civil society tortured victims at their doctors’ safe houses in order to reduce tension, and he rose to stardom after getting arrested by the same military regime over totally-dismissable charges of incitement to violence.
He also has a reputation of forcing his political views against Chamisa’s reputation onto crowds by shutting discussions through boasts about personal wealth and yet he has flopped the most basic proceeds of crime test done by his former employers when he failed to among other things, declare the name of the UK institution he claims funded his sportscar lifestyle at the age of 25, with which he regularly name-drops a Harare based Dr Maboreke’s name amid complaints by the medic’s family over his attempts to validate the multi million dollar wealth he acquired during the time he changed his own name, and when most of his best friends got convicted of cheque fraud.
Masvingo- Magistrate Elizabeth Hanzi has removed Masvingo ‘lesbians’ Flora Tofa (24) and heavily pregnant Nyasha Chabika (24) from remand this morning. Their case will proceed by means of summons when the State has finished building a case against them. She freed them after their lawyer Tatenda Nyoka argued that the State is yet to come up with a charge and the duo is pointlessly coming to court to be further remanded. He also produced a medical affidavit stating that Nyasha is heavily pregnant and will give birth soon. “We have attended all court sessions and the State is yet to serve my clients. They should be removed from remand and the State can summon them when it has a case. Nyasha is pregnant and about to give birth, there is no point in them continually coming to court just to be further remanded,” argued Nyoka. The duo’s mobile phones that were seized by Police and their ZWL$100 000 bail have been returned to them. Nyasha and Flora have been appeared before Magistrate Hanzi four times since December 2, 2023, when they were arrested. They have been further remanded on three occasions as the State is still preparing a case against them. The two were arrested by the Police and charged with violating Section 13 (1) of the Censorship and Entertainment Act, Chapter 10: 04 (publishing the video) Godknows Mugondo prosecuted.
By Political Editor-Former MDC-T spokesperson turned Zanu PF supporter Obert Gutu has been removed from his Chisipite home WhatsApp group after his outspoken comments against ex-Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa.
Chamisa recently departed from CCC, citing infiltration by Zanu PF through Sengezo Tshabangu.
Tshabangu, self-proclaimed interim secretary-general, has been utilising this fake position to recall elected party officials since the August 2023 general polls, with the approval of the courts.
Gutu, known for defecting from the opposition to Zanu PF three years ago, disclosed that he was removed from his local communication platform after cautioning against posting Chamisa-related content.
Here is Gutu’s full story he narrated on his X account:
I reside in Ward 7, City of Harare. I have been a resident since 2001. There’s a WhatsApp group of residents whose main thrust should be to update members/residents on issues to do with rates, water, security etc, relating to our Ward. The WhatsApp group isn’t supposed to be a political platform.
Yesterday, Saturday, January 27, 2024, the Ward 7 Councillor posted a politically charged message concerning the goings-on in her political party/political group. I then posted a message complaining that the WhatsApp group shouldn’t be used for politicking and/or dessiminatimg political party messages. And then all hell broke loose! The WhatsApp group Admin, an oldish white lady & some of her vociferous colleagues, then came out guns blazing supporting the Ward Councillor for posting political messages in the residents WhatsApp group. Naturally, I stood my ground & protested, vociferously, that there had to be tolerance in the group & that political messages shouldn’t be allowed. The white WhatsApp group Admin then removed me from the group. I’m not particularly bothered by that intolerant, rather racist move, because I had already strongly delivered my message home. So much for the racist Rhodesian mentality that is still pervading in certain sections of our localities ; more than 43 years after Zimbabwe attained independence!

Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators Job Sikhala and Godfrey Sithole appeared at the Rotten Row Magistrates court Monday morning, where evidence was led in mitigation after their conviction last week.
Court then adjourned till Tuesday 30th January at 2pm for sentencing.

By A Correspondent| The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has stopped the prosecution of two human rights lawyers, who were scheduled to stand trial for allegedly defeating or obstructing the course of justice, after withdrawing charges against the duo.
The two human rights lawyers, Tapiwa Muchineripi and Douglas Coltart, who are members of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, were arrested by Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers on Monday 4 September 2023 and were charged with defeating or obstructing the course of justice as defined in section 184 of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
Prosecutors alleged that Muchineripi and Coltart obstructed some ZRP officers from having access to interview Womberaiishe Nhende, the Councillor for Ward 26 in Glen Norah suburb in Harare and Sanele Mukhuhlani, who were victims of suspected kidnapping and malicious damage to property, and who at the time were admitted at a medical facility in the capital city.
The human rights lawyers, who were at the medical facility, with Nhende and Mukhuhlani, were accused of blocking ZRP officers from questioning their two clients, who were left hospitalised after they were abducted and tortured by some unidentified people, who injected an unknown substance into their bodies before dumping them in Mashonaland West province.
But on Friday 26 January 2024, the NPA withdrew charges against the duo citing lack of evidence to sustain prosecuting the human rights lawyers.
Muchineripi and Coltart were represented by Alec Muchadehama of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and appeared before Harare Magistrate Ethel Chichera.
Environment minister and Zanu PF Matabeleland South chairman Mangaliso Ndlovu was accused of “abandoning” his family on Sunday and moving in with his new flame – a young woman he met while she was on attachment at the tourism ministry.
Ndlovu and his family have a home in Montgomery in Bulawayo, where his wife Gugulethu Ndlovu, nee Mpofu, currently lives with their two daughters.
ZimLive can now reveal that police officers who were guarding the residence were withdrawn in December, it is believed on Ndlovu’s instructions.
Ministers are provided security for a maximum of two properties – their official houses in Harare and a second property of their choosing, typically a farm or primary residence when not in Harare.
A source briefed on the development said: “He now stays with his lover in Harare, at the new house he recently received from the government. He has abandoned his family in Bulawayo.”
The minister’s lover has been named as Precious Vimbai Matsinde, who now has a child with him.
“She was a student on attachment at the tourism ministry while he was still minister there and they immediately hit it off. She was there barely two months, because she arrived at the end of her industrial attachment period,” a source said.
Ndlovu, the son of Zanu PF Matabeleland South senator Richard Ndlovu, has been married to his wife for over 15 years.
The minister told our reporter: “You surely have better things to do with your life, get on with them.”
Gugulethu said: “I have no comment. Talk to your source and the people concerned. I want no part of it.”
Questions left for Matsinde had not been answered.
Convicted former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala will be back in court today for sentencing following his conviction on charges of inciting public violence last week.
Sikhala was convicted together with another former CCC legislator Godfrey Sithole.
Before sentencing, Sikhala’s lawyers will also have time for mitigation and among their arguments will be the fact that the combative politician has already stayed in custody for a year and seven months as well as the fact that this is his first conviction despite being arrested for over 60 times in his long political career.
Meanwhile, pro-democracy campaigners have slammed the state for politically persecuting President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s political rivals.
ZimEye will continue to give you updates as Sikhala’s case proceeds today.
By Political Reporter- The country’s most charismatic opposition leader Nelson Chamisa has disclosed receiving threats on his life following his resignation from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC).

Controversial Plan to Arrest Nelson Chamisa Risks Major Political Fallout.
By Dorrothy Moyo | Harare, Zimbabwe* – A potentially explosive political situation is unfolding in Zimbabwe as plans to arrest opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa are being met with severe criticism and warnings of significant repercussions. This controversial strategy, allegedly orchestrated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration, is garnering widespread attention and concern.
Recent developments have come to light through a leaked social media video in which ZanuPF spokesperson Mr. Mutsvangwa is heard discussing plans to report Chamisa to the police, accusing him of misusing funds from his party, the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC). Additionally, another video features Tshabangu asserting intentions to seize all CCC assets currently under Chamisa’s control.
This strategy, however, is being met with stark warnings from political analysts, including Ibbo Mandaza. Mandaza argues that arresting Chamisa could lead to disastrous consequences for President Mnangagwa’s government. Drawing parallels with former President Mugabe’s arrest of Morgan Tsvingirai before the 2008 elections, Mandaza suggests that such a move would be perceived as severe political persecution of Zimbabwe’s most popular opposition leader.
“By arresting Nelson just like what Mugabe did to Tsvangirai before 2008 elections is going to be regarded as a serious political persecution… and will draw internal and external pressure which will eventually remove Mnangagwa from power,” Mandaza explained.
He further emphasized the potential for this action to “set the country, which is already in the heat, into the fire.” Mandaza warned that such a move could not only destabilize Zimbabwe but also attract the attention and condemnation of regional bodies like the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union, especially against the backdrop of the disputed 2023 elections.
The situation poses a significant test for Zimbabwe’s political stability and governance, with the potential to escalate tensions and draw international scrutiny. The planned arrest of Chamisa, according to Mandaza and other political observers, is not just a risky move for Mnangagwa’s government but could also mark a critical turning point in Zimbabwe’s political landscape.
In the tumultuous landscape of Zimbabwean politics, one figure stands out as a beacon of citizens’ principles – Nelson Chamisa.
As the nation grapples with the intricacies of political manoeuvering, seasoned political analyst Dr Pedzisai Ruhanya sheds light on the ongoing dynamics within the CCC regime and the challenges faced by its leader, Tshabangu.
Dr Ruhanya points out a fundamental issue with Tshabangu and his CCC regime agents – a misguided perception that they are merely combating Nelson Chamisa.
“What they seem to overlook is that Chamisa is not an agent of any political faction; rather, he is a representative of the masses, the millions who cast their votes in his favor, the councilors, the Members of Parliament, and senators.
Chamisa’s political legitimacy derives from the unwavering support of the people, making him a true bearer of citizens’ principles.
His commitment to democratic ideals and the will of the electorate has established him as a leader with a genuine mandate from the public.”
As Tshabangu and his associates engage in political manoeuvers within the CCC, Dr Ruhanya calls for scrutiny of Chamisa’s successor within the party.
” The focus should extend beyond the individual and delve into the strategic national agenda that the successor intends to pursue. Particularly, there is a pressing need to address the significant damage inflicted by ZANU PF’s infiltration, orchestrated by Tshabangu, which has resulted in the regrettable recalls of elected officials, “said Dr Ruhanya on X.
The impact of these regime-inspired recalls on the democratic fabric of the CCC cannot be underestimated.
It raises questions about the party’s resilience against external influences and the safeguarding of its original principles.
The successor to Chamisa must navigate these challenges with a strategic vision that upholds the party’s integrity and remains true to the aspirations of the citizens who vested their trust in the CCC.
Nelson Chamisa’s role transcends mere party politics; he symbolizes the hopes and aspirations of the Zimbabwean people.
As the political landscape continues to evolve, it becomes imperative to uphold citizens’ principles and ensure that any leadership transition within the CCC aligns with the broader national agenda and effectively addresses the challenges posed by external interference.
Daughter of Late Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri Acquitted of Fraud Charges
Harare, Zimbabwe–Stephanie Rufaro Shiri, the daughter of the late national hero Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri (Rtd), has been acquitted of charges of fraud and forging a birth certificate. The ruling, delivered by Chief Magistrate Mrs. Faith Mushure last Friday, came after the State failed to substantiate its allegations against Stephanie’s “half-sister,” Stephan Tanaka Musvamhiri.
The Chief Magistrate concluded the State’s case, represented by Ms. Ruvimbo Matyatya, was insufficient in proving that Ms. Musvamhiri had fraudulently altered her birth certificate or DNA test results to claim a share of the late Air Chief Marshal’s estate. “The State failed to give evidence that the accused had entered her name through fraudulent means to the executor,” Mrs. Mushure stated, highlighting the absence of crucial testimony from the executor of the estate.
Regarding the alleged forgery of the birth certificate, the Chief Magistrate noted that Ms. Musvamhiri could not be held responsible for discrepancies in addresses, as these were added by her maternal grandmother during her childhood. Additionally, the State’s failure to bring forward a witness from Global DNA left the allegation of fake DNA results unsubstantiated, affirming Ms. Musvamhiri as the biological daughter of Air Chief Marshal Shiri.
The background of the case involves Stephanie Rufaro Shiri bringing charges against Ms. Musvamhiri, alleging fraudulent activities that could have prejudiced the beneficiaries of the estate to the tune of US$124,663. In a second charge, it was claimed that Ms. Musvamhiri provided a false address when replacing her lost birth certificate.
Ms. Musvamhiri, defended by lawyer Mr. Arshiel Mugiya, denied these allegations, asserting that Stephanie Rufaro Shiri was attempting to disinherit other biological children of the late Air Chief Marshal. The defense also mentioned the previous arrest of another sibling, Tawanda Zulu, as part of these efforts.
This acquittal marks a crucial development in the legal battles surrounding the estate of the late Air Chief Marshal Perrance Shiri, shining a light on the complexities and challenges within family inheritance disputes. The outcome has significant implications for the Shiri family and sets a precedent in cases of estate inheritance in Zimbabwe.- Agencies
Zimbabwe’s Education Ministry to Launch Blitz on Unregistered Private Schools.
Harare, Zimbabwe – The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education in Zimbabwe is set to launch a comprehensive operation targeting unregistered private schools across the country. This move aims to streamline and regulate the burgeoning education sector and address the growing concern over the quality of education being compromised by these institutions.
During a recent assessment tour of schools in Gokwe North district, Education Minister Torerayi Moyo expressed concern about the rapid increase in unlicensed private schools. “Our ministry has observed that there has been a proliferation of private schools which are mushrooming everywhere – in high-density suburbs, low-density suburbs, even in villages,” Minister Moyo stated.
The Ministry, which oversees both public and private educational institutions, has noted that the lack of registration of these schools leads to significant challenges in ensuring quality control and adherence to educational standards. “If schools are not registered with the Ministry, their operations cannot be regulated. We want to monitor activities in schools for quality control,” the Minister emphasized.
Minister Moyo also highlighted the issue of non-payment of school fees and the resultant withholding of examination results by some schools. He firmly warned against such practices, urging schools to release pupils’ results while negotiating fee settlements with parents and guardians. The Minister also called on parents to adhere to their payment obligations and plans.
In an example underscoring the gravity of the situation, reports from Gweru indicated that O Level learners at Fletcher High School were being denied access to their results due to unpaid fees. One parent, speaking on condition of anonymity, voiced frustration over the school’s demands for payment of items like work suits, toolboxes, and electric components.
The Ministry’s impending action against unregistered schools comes amid concerns of some public-sector schools defying government policy by denying learners access due to non-payment of fees. Midlands Provincial Education Director Mr. Jameson Machimbira confirmed that the department is actively addressing these issues.
The planned crackdown on unregistered private schools signifies a major step by the Zimbabwean government in its efforts to maintain high educational standards and ensure that all institutions operate within the legal framework. This development is being closely watched by educators, parents, and policymakers alike, as it promises significant implications for the country’s education sector.
Nkayi District Hospital Nursing School Closure Causes Major Disruption, Community Upheaval.
Nkayi, Zimbabwe – The recent closure of Nkayi District Hospital’s School of Nursing has led to significant upheaval, with 33 trainee primary care nurses being relocated to other nursing schools following the arrest of two tutors on corruption charges. The temporary closure of the institution has greatly disrupted the educational curriculum, necessitating the transfer of students to continue their training elsewhere.
The affected students are now being accommodated at the Silveria School of Nursing in Masvingo and Mutambara School of Nursing in Manicaland. This decision was made in response to the arrest of the tutors, which left the school without adequate teaching staff.
Local community members have expressed their concerns over the closure, fearing it will negatively impact healthcare services. The students, who were integral to the hospital’s operations, are now absent, creating a significant void in the local healthcare system.
A letter from Dr. Heron Dube, the Nkayi district medical officer, reveals details about the student transfers. It states, “Following communication received from the Ministry of Health and Child Care, student nurse [name withheld] is being released from the Nkayi School of Nursing… to continue her Primary Care Nursing training at Mutambara School of Nursing.”
Dr. Dube spoke about the challenges faced due to the tutors’ arrests, noting the school’s struggle to function with an insufficient number of tutors. “The training school must have four tutors to run efficiently… we had two tutors who have a pending case before the courts,” he said.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care, under the guidance of its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aspect Maunganidze, organized the transfer of the 33 students to other institutions due to the absence of teaching staff at the Nkayi school.
Ms. Miriam Rimbi Reza and Mrs. Tabeth Ncube, the tutors involved, are set to appear in a regional magistrate court in Bulawayo, with their case moved from the Nkayi magistrate’s courts on allegations of corruption.
Students affected by the closure have voiced their dissatisfaction, pointing to the inconvenience and financial burden of the sudden move. “We were given just five days to pack our bags and travel… at our own expense, which is not fair,” shared one of the students.
Residents, including Mrs. Rejoice Mathe from Nkuba Village, are concerned about the impact on healthcare services and the future of local nursing education. “We will spend several hours in queues before being attended to… We urge Government to look into the issue of re-opening the school,” she expressed.
The situation has highlighted the need for more robust anti-corruption measures within educational institutions and raised questions about the impact on healthcare services in the region.
The State Media continues to monitor this developing story, gathering responses from the affected students, local community, and relevant authorities. In a surprising turn of events, President Nelson Chamisa’s decision to resign from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has sparked a dilemma for Zanu PF Varakashi, who are now pushing for CCC Members of Parliament (MPs) to follow suit and resign from Zimbabwe’s Parliament.
President Chamisa’s bold decision, announced on Thursday, has sent shockwaves through the political landscape.
The move has not only raised eyebrows but also prompted Zanu PF Varakashi to intensify their efforts in pressuring CCC MPs to step down from their parliamentary positions.
In response to Chamisa’s resignation, Zanu PF’s Operation Restore Legacy released a statement emphasizing the legal procedure outlined in Section 129(1)(b) for MPs to resign from the Zimbabwean Parliament.
This section mandates that MPs must formally submit a written notice of resignation to the Speaker of Parliament, who in turn is required to acknowledge the receipt of the notice.
The political maneuvering by Zanu PF Varakashi raises questions about the potential implications for the CCC and the broader political landscape in Zimbabwe.
Chamisa’s departure from the CCC is a significant development, and the ensuing efforts to persuade CCC MPs to leave Parliament add a layer of complexity to an already dynamic political environment.
The strategic implications of these resignations could shape the future landscape of Zimbabwean politics.
In a courtroom filled with tension, Magistrate Tariro Linnet Mudzingo granted ZWL$100,000 bail to 11 illegal settlers from Mushandike Resettlement Village 18 B and Village 19 B, falling under the jurisdictions of Chief Charumbira and Chief Bere.
Families, who had established homes in these areas for up to three decades, anxiously awaited their fate.
The accused, apprehended by officials from the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development, along with the Police, include Mubaiwa Madzivire (42), Chipiwa Musara (64), Gift Mheni (39), Raymond Marondedze (49), Innocent Matewe (53), Edmore Gotosa (46), Neby Mazani (59), Rose Mukondodzi (51), Tamson Mazani, Josias Mazani (34), and Moline Mabvera. They face charges of occupying gazetted land.
In a recent development within the Zimbabwean political landscape, ZANU PF Chief Whip and Gutu South legislator, Hon. Togarepi Pupurai, has taken a swipe at members of the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC), suggesting that their withdrawal from Parliament would hardly make a significant impact.
Pupurai asserted that the opposition’s presence in the legislative body is already minimal, making their absence inconspicuous. The statement comes amidst heightened political tensions and power struggles in Zimbabwe, where the CCC, led by Nelson Chamisa, has emerged as a formidable opposition force challenging the long-standing dominance of the Zimbabwe African National Union-Patriotic Front (ZANU PF).
Pupurai’s dismissive stance towards the CCC’s parliamentary representation reflects the broader narrative of a ruling party confident in its numerical superiority within the legislative arena.
The assertion that the withdrawal of CCC MPs would go unnoticed implies a certain level of disdain for the opposition and underscores the challenges faced by non-ZANU PF members in influencing legislative decisions. The political climate in Zimbabwe has been marked by ongoing debates on electoral reforms, human rights issues, and economic challenges.
The CCC, having positioned itself as a vocal critic of the ruling party, has faced resistance from ZANU PF hardliners, and Pupurai’s comments echo the prevailing sentiment of disregard for the opposition’s influence. While the ZANU PF Chief Whip’s remarks may be perceived as a strategic move to downplay the significance of the CCC’s role in Parliament, they also shed light on the larger struggle for political space and representation in Zimbabwe.
The opposition has repeatedly raised concerns about the fairness of elections and the need for a more inclusive political environment.
Nigeria secured a spot in the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals with Ademola Lookman’s two goals leading them to a 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the last 16 clash at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium.
Lookman’s 36th-minute opener set the tone, and his second goal in injury time sealed the win as Nigeria dominated the match.
Their next challenge awaits against Angola in the quarter-finals in Abidjan next Friday, following Angola’s 3-0 victory over Namibia in Bouake earlier on Saturday.
Victor Osimhen, Nigeria’s African Footballer of the Year, showcased exceptional work rate, playing a pivotal role in propelling his team to success. The triumph was well-deserved for Nigeria, demonstrating a significant improvement in form compared to their uninspiring group phase performance where they finished as the runners-up in their section.
By Dorrothy Moyo | Late Sunday night, a devastating fire broke out in Joyner City, the heart of Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare, sending red fumes throughout the main CBD. The inferno, which began under the cover of darkness, has rapidly escalated, causing widespread alarm and chaos.
As dawn broke, large crowds had already gathered, watching in horror as the flames continued their relentless march across the area. The fire, which has now engulfed several buildings including key shopping malls, shows little sign of abating.
Eyewitnesses at the scene paint a picture of desperation and fear. “The fire is heading to the other side. There are two fire brigade trucks, will they manage to douse the fire? All shopping malls are affected,” a man was overheard saying amidst the clamor.
The Harare Fire Brigade, with only two fire trucks present, is fiercely battling the flames. Their efforts, however, are challenged by the intensity of the fire and the dense layout of Joyner City. Questions are being raised about the adequacy of the response and whether these resources are sufficient to tackle the enormity of the situation.
Authorities have issued a strong advisory for people to steer clear of the affected area to facilitate the operations of the emergency services. As of now, there are no reports of any casualties, but the situation remains precarious.
The cause of the fire, which started late on Sunday night, is currently unknown. Investigations are expected to begin in earnest once the fire is brought under control.
This catastrophic event has left the residents of Harare in a state of shock, witnessing what is likely one of the most significant fires in recent memory.
We will continue to monitor this situation closely and provide updates as more information becomes available. Stay tuned for the latest developments on the Joyner City inferno in Harare.- ZimEye

By Political Correspondent | ZimEye | Describing his opinions as professional, the political activist Hopewell Chino’no has accused the nation’s most popular politician Nelson Chamisa of dictatorship, saying CCC MPs who’ve chosen to side with ZANU PF imposter and agent Sengezo Tshabangu (to stay in parliament) are in this state because of Chamisa’s so called, “dictatorship.”
He stated this while repeatedly and variously stone-throwing the term “professional journalist” to paint his tweets.
While it is a fact that some CCC MPs are not resigning, it is false and totally misleading that that Mr Hopewell Chin’ono has been in any way professional over the last 13 months, being the only person who after spending the 2018 to 2020 period advising the military to descend on Nelson Chamisa tortured activists at their doctors’ safe houses (an achievement of accusing them of causing tension with govt that threatens presidential spokesman George Charamba’s job), has been behind creating the imposter Sengezo Tshabangu’s powers by daily piling layers of falsehoods since 1st Jan 2023 when he began falsely claiming that Nelson Chamisa is losing the 2023 elections because he did not tell people to go and register to vote (amid multiple register-to-vote-rallies witnessed across the country over 934 in number).
In the 2020 year alone, Mr. Hopewell Chin’ono had achieved strides of appointing himself the community “Daddy” character, saying since his 28th May 2020 tweets, that he alone can expose corruption better than Chamisa’s party, just a few weeks before the military regime slapped him with dismissable charges of incitement to violence, in dramatic police action that many fake activists have been served who include, Tinashe Jonasi, and Emmerson Mnangagwa so to promote them to political stardom.
Throughout the 2018 to 2023, journalism has been a facade in Mr Hopewell Chin’ono’s conduct, as he has operated a four pronged career:
Daddy’ism
Militarism
Obfuscationism.
Money-ism
Daddy’ism. – Daddy’sts are individuals proven in multiple prosecutions around the world to be cunning manipulators and groomers of the minds of predominantly women for sex. He announces himself to people by the title, Daddy. Multiple sources have spoken on video who include an NHS expert over unchallenged allegations against Mr Hopewell Chin’ono’s character over manipulating women for sensual pleasures.
Militarism. Mr Hopewell Chino’no who accuses Nelson Chamisa of dictatorship, has himself been the worst of any such kind, a cold militarist- a researcher who advises military deployment on citizens while accusing them of tension. He reveals that he has recently advised the Ministry Of Defence that the Nelson Chamisa aligned civil society is causing tension with the government, so the best way to deal with them is to descend on them regularly, ideas that have now gotten the entire Chamisa party crushed by the army, beginning with the take over of Harvest House building with the assistance of the military.
Obfuscationism. Mr Hopewell Chinono has practised the art of changing names, faces, roles and professions since his name change [from Hopewell Mukusha] in 2001, just after his closest friends were convicted of serious cheque fraud in UK, and he had amassed millions of pounds which he claims were built from a £50,000 sportscar credit facility (lender whose name he avoids dislcosing). After being asked to do the simple task of disclosure, Hopewell Chin’ono has for years avoided this standard request by fellow journalists.
Hopewell Chin’ono has failed multiple proceeds of crime tests, including the one done by one of his employers, Geoff Nyarota.
His name change happened at a time many implicated UK L migrants managed to fly back to Zimbabwe and successfully return to Britain on new passports, all due to England’s DNA database change after the 9,11 terror bombings.
Money’ism.
Piled on the first 3, Mr Hopewell Chin’ono regularly debates with people using his vast untraceable wealth as a symbolic tool to crush their confidence. He uses the “learn or perish,” term which is utilised by many false prophets to threaten their subjects so they do not raise questions to them. He uses this phrase by saying that everybody should listen to him because they do not have a fully paid-up home.
It is this Moneysm that Mr Hopewell Chin’ono uses to describe the plight of CCC MPs who have refused to resign because of their financial standing, which will be disadvantaged.
Hopewell Chin’ono’s full messaging in 6year period can be summarised as follows-
2017 to 2019: Give ED a chance.
2019- 2020: Military must meet Chamisa, civil society regularly in order to reduce tension.
2020- 2023: I’m the Daddy who exposes corruption better than the entire Chamisa led opposition party. The opposition will do nothing.
2023- 2024: Chamisa is losing elections and splitting the party cause he didn’t tell people to go register to vote.
I have a fully paid up home, learn or perish!

A City with Two Names: Though known as Harare today, the city wasn’t always called this. During British colonial rule from 1890 to 1980, it was named Fort Salisbury after then-Prime Minister Lord Salisbury. After independence, the name was changed to Harare, honoring the Shona chief Neharawa who once lived near the area.
Home to the Mighty Kopje: Harare boasts a prominent rocky outcrop called Harare Kopje, rising amidst the cityscape. This granite kopje holds historical significance, serving as a lookout point for the Shona people and later becoming the site where the British Pioneer Column established their fort in 1890. Today, it’s a popular spot for picnicking and enjoying panoramic views of the city.
Wild Encounters in the City: Believe it or not, Harare offers opportunities for wildlife viewing within its borders. The Mukuvisi Woodlands, a protected urban wildlife sanctuary, is home to zebras, giraffes, monkeys, and over 270 bird species. Visitors can take walking or game drives through the woodlands, experiencing a taste of the Zimbabwean bush without leaving the city.
Sporting Passions: Cricket is a beloved sport in Zimbabwe, and Harare’s Harare Sports Club is a national landmark. This historic venue has hosted international cricket matches since the early 1900s and was one of the grounds for the 2003 Cricket World Cup.
Artistic Hub: Harare’s vibrant arts scene shines through its numerous galleries, studios, and cultural centers. The National Gallery of Zimbabwe houses a rich collection of Shona sculptures, contemporary art, and historical artifacts, while places like the Chapungu Sculpture Park showcase the works of local and international artists in an open-air setting.
These are just a few of the many interesting facts about Harare. With its historical landmarks, diverse wildlife, and thriving arts scene, this Zimbabwean capital has something to offer everyone.
By A Correspondent| Transport Ministry deputy director Enerst Shenje who was arrested for allegedly facilitating a fraudulent claim of over US$ 1 million as compensation for a property demolished for the construction of the new Mbudzi roundabout using fake deeds, has denied the allegations.
He appeared in court Saturday afternoon and challenged the allegations saying there is no evidence to link him to the offence of fraud to warrant his placement on remand.
His lawyer Admire Rubaya, quoting the words of the investigating officer Elisha Chimusoro, said his client was only being victimised as he is regarded as the minister’s blue-eyed boy.
Rubaya added that Shenje’s arrest shielded the real perpetrators of the offence.
Chimusoro insisted they have evidence against Shenje to link him to the offence, claiming he benefitted from US$200 000 which was paid by treasury at the instruction of the transport ministry.
The magistrate, Don Ndirowei will rule on the matter on Monday.
It is the State’s case that sometime in 2021, the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry embarked on project to construct a multi-level interchange at Mbudzi roundabout and the project affected 135 residential, industrial and commercial properties around the are.
Reports are that the government set a fund to compensate the affected property owners after a valuation process and in 2022 the Ministry set out to value the affected properties.
It is said a property, subdivision A of Subdivision B of Delft of Hopely held under Title Deed of one Geoffrey Bannister was one of the properties affected.
When compensation was due, Shenje in connivance with Levy Idana forged an agreement of sale using an old Title deed in the name of John Maloney, predecessor in title to Bannister purporting that Idana had purchased the property and was now the one due to be compensated.
It is alleged that Idana went on to submit the fraudulent Agreement of sale and the old Title Deed to Shenje who in turn fast-tracked the paperwork for payment.
Claims are that on December 8 and December 28, Idana received US$ 100 000-00 respectively from treasury under the instruction of the Ministry of Transport to make a total of US$200 000.

As Zimbabwe grapples with political turmoil, Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa is desperate to score diplomatic points.
Recently, Mr Mnangagwa had a meeting with a British Delegation, hoping to spruce up his waning political image.
In a statement Zanu PF’s Operation Restore Legacy said : “President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa meets a delegation of British investors led by a Member of the UK Parliament for Tewkesbury, Mr. Laurence Robertson.
Mr Robertson is also the chairman of the Westminister Africa Business Group which aims at promoting trade between the UK and Africa.
Mr Robertson said that their mission is to find ways of increasing trade between Zimbabwe and Britain. He said since Brexit, there is greater pressure for the UK to increase trade across the globe.”
The statement suggests a deliberate effort by the Zimbabwean government to portray the meeting as a pivotal moment in Mnangagwa’s diplomatic outreach.
Mr Robertson’s dual role as both a Member of Parliament and the chairman of the Westminster Africa Business Group underscores the gravity of the delegation.
Their mission, as articulated by Mr Robertson, revolves around finding ways to amplify trade between Zimbabwe and Britain.
Notably, he emphasized that, post-Brexit, the UK is under increased pressure to diversify and expand its global trade partnerships.
However, beneath the diplomatic rhetoric lies skepticism about Mnangagwa’s true intentions.
Critics argue that the meeting serves as a mere façade, an attempt to hoodwink British investors and divert attention from the internal challenges faced by Zimbabwe.
The country grapples with economic instability, human rights concerns, and a political landscape marked by unrest.
The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has swiftly organized a meeting to appoint a new president following Nelson Chamisa’s resignation.
The party asserts that the leadership structure will revert to the officials elected in the MDC Alliance congress in May 2019, prior to the party’s shift to CCC in January last year.
Karenyi Kore, one of the three vice presidents, has been named the leader of the opposition in parliament, replacing Amos Chibaya.
Chibaya was recalled by CCC’s interim secretary general, Sengezo Tshabangu, and subsequently barred from participating in upcoming by-elections on February 3.
Chamisa’s decision to leave the party stemmed from a dispute with leaders elected at the MDC Alliance’s Gweru congress.
While Chamisa maintained CCC was a new entity, the opposing leaders felt sidelined and accused him of orchestrating a “coup.”
The CCC released a statement affirming the authority of leaders elected at the Gweru congress and expressing a commitment to engage with Chamisa to address concerns raised in his statement. The party plans to convene another leadership meeting urgently.
The CCC is also seeking talks with Tshabangu, who aims to restore constitutionalism and collective decision-making within the party. The party urges its members to maintain unity and defend the cohesion of the organization.
In response to Chamisa’s departure, CCC MPs have expressed loyalty on social media, but none have resigned. Pressure is likely to mount for them to distance themselves from the party.
The situation remains dynamic, with ongoing efforts to resolve internal issues within the CCC leadership.

By Dorrothy Moyo | In a startling development in Zimbabwean politics, ZANU PF spokesman Christopher Mutsvangwa has issued a stark warning to opposition figure Nelson Chamisa. In a press conference held on Saturday, Mutsvangwa declared that legal action would be taken against Chamisa if he attempts to form a new party following his departure from the CCC institution, which Mutsvangwa alleges has been compromised by ZANU PF.
Mutsvangwa accused Chamisa of fleeing his responsibilities and wresting power within the CCC to create a party called “Wapusa Wapusa.” He criticized Chamisa for purportedly listening only to foreign influences and ignoring domestic voices. Mutsvangwa highlighted that Chamisa’s exit from the party has opened doors for investigations into his leadership, especially regarding financial matters within the organization.
“The courts in this country stand for everyone without partiality. No one stops the court from ruling,” Mutsvangwa stated, implying that Chamisa might face legal scrutiny for his past actions. He also alluded to potential enemies and aggrieved parties within the courts who might have grievances against Chamisa.
This announcement has sent ripples through the political landscape of Zimbabwe, raising questions about the future of opposition politics and the extent of legal challenges that Chamisa might face. It also underscores the tense and often confrontational nature of Zimbabwe’s political arena, where party affiliations and leadership disputes frequently spill over into public and legal domains.
As the situation develops, observers are closely monitoring Chamisa’s next moves and the potential implications of Mutsvangwa’s threats on Zimbabwe’s political stability and the broader democratic process.
I was overwhelmingly voted by you and the Citizens. My loyalty to the Cause remains unquestionable. I believe and trust in the able leadership of President Nelson Chamisa.
The recent resignation of my President comes not as a shock. The Political playing field has not been even since the formation of the Citizen’s movement hence the decision to leave.
Our enemy remains Zanu PF and its surrogates. I’m for the people as I was voted by the people.
The body definitely follows the head Advocate Nelson Chamisa. As I await guidance from my mentor Advocate Nelson Chamisa let me take this opportunity to inform you that I will follow wherever he goes. An injury to one is an injury to all. My motivation remains in a better tomorrow.
By A Correspondent | A major investigation is currently unfolding around UK-based nurse Sazini Malaba and her company, Mthwakazi Queens CIC, amid allegations of fraudulent land sales. The focus is on a series of transactions where a group of diaspora investors, primarily women, were promised residential plots on Maxim Hill Farm in 2020. They were each required to pay an average USD 9,375, with the payments directed into the Mthwakazi Queens CIC’s bank account.
Three years since these transactions, the investors are yet to see any fruition of their investments. No land has been supplied, and the group has been voicing their frustrations and concerns over the lack of transparency and progress. The situation is further complicated by the fact that it is illegal to buy or sell agricultural land in Zimbabwe, and in the UK, Malaba’s business operations have raised questions about compliance with the Financial Conduct Authority.
Communication from Malaba and Mthwakazi Queens CIC has been inconsistent and often delayed. The last communication from December 2023 promised updates and a refund process, but there has been no follow-through. Malaba’s refusal to engage with external media inquiries, particularly from ZimEye, and her insistence on communicating only with her direct clients, has added to the investors’ distress.
The handling of this matter, especially Malaba’s abrupt termination of a conversation about her professional responsibilities as a Community Interest Company owner and a nurse, has been seen as indicative of the broader issues at play.
Sazini Malaba
This ongoing case highlights the complexities and potential risks involved in international land investment, particularly when legal and financial regulations span multiple countries. Investors affected by the Mthwakazi Queens CIC’s operations are eagerly awaiting a resolution, as the investigation into the alleged fraudulent practices continues.
Over USD 150,000 has vanished as the company goes under investigation for alleged fraudulent land sales, as described by the government of Zimbabwe. Three years later, with no land delivered and no refunds processed, investors fear their money may never be recovered. Malaba’s engagement in what is considered a fraudulent business by the Zimbabwean government has compounded the seriousness of the situation. In the video below is a collage of statements by President Emmerson Mnangagwa and former war veteraneader Joseph Chinotimba over fraudulent land sales. (Video).
MALABA’S LAST ANNOUNCEMEMT WAS IN DEC 2023 WHEN SHE STATED AS FOLLOWS:
Happy New Year to everyone. We do hope you a had a lovely and safe break and now back to the grind.
We would like to apologise for the delay in getting back to you on the progress from the previous letter, this has been due to the holidays.
Our lawyers will return to office on the 8th of January. We therefore anticipate an update from their office by the end of that week so as to give them time to get back to routine.
In the meantime, as per request in the last letter, may those who wish to be refunded please send an email as advised as this constitutes the formalities to trigger the refund process. With no formal written request, it may proof stiff for the lawyers to action anything on your behalf.

By Investigative Reporter | The remaining CCC legislators who have not quit the party Nelson Chamisa has deserted have technically joined joined ZANU PF.
The development confirms an announcement by the nation’s most popular leader, Nelson Chamisa who on Thursday labelled everyone remaining in Parliament and the councils following his exit from CCC party as a fraudster.
Legislators were secretly co opted into Emmerson Mnangagwa’s structural extension (the only structure ZANU PF was hoping Chamisa would create for their use) in a scheme spearheaded by his lawyer, Lewis Uriri, among other functionaries.
Uriri who is seen in and out of court representing the political imposter Sengezo Tshabangu, has for 6 years been Mnangagwa’s lawyer behind the overthrowing of elected governments that’s included the deploying of soldiers to change election results since 1 August 2018, plus payments of bribes to judges presiding on presidential challenge court cases.
For the last 44 years since 1980, the official state security policy under Emmerson Mnangagwa has been that every election winner must suffer deprivement of privileges and of life, such that he (Mnangagwa) even recalled his boss, Robert Mugabe back to the Mozambique battlefront for assassination soon after winning the March 1980 elections, as is announced by former First Lady Grace Mugabe in an unchallenged account.
Mnangagwa makes clear this policy in various speeches between 1980 and 2023, that “all election winners must be turned into corpses, and that democracy is only found in the world of the dead (video).”
The self-proclaimed Secretary General of the CCC, Sengezo Tshabangu, was caught on camera executing this operation on Mnangagwa’s behalf soon after the killing of Nelson Chamisa campaigner, Tapfumaneyi Masaya on 13 Nov 2023.
One recalled MP interviewed by ZimEye, Hon Stephen Chagwiza reveals that MPs were charged USD5,000 bribes and ordered to join Emmerson Mnangagwa as agents set to obey orders to destroy Nelson Chamisa.
Speaking with ZimEye on 11 January 2024, Hon Chagwiza says in a brief statement:
“I am Stephen Chagwiza of Goromonzi South. In Tshabangu’s letter (of recall), he said Stephen Chatiza of Goromonzi West had been expelled by his party.
“In the president’s proclamation in the gazette, there is now Chatiza of Goromonzi South.
“We tried to challenge this at court, and we met Chabangu with his lawyers. At that point, the lawyers said: young man, you will die for nothing. We have our own wars.
“When I met him and his lawyers, Kucaca Phulu and Lewis Uriri. They said to me, you will be hurt over things that have nothing to do with you. We are sorting our own issues with Chamisa in the party.
“They then said to me, “be our foot soldier and we won’t oppose you in court. We will then announce that you are saved from the recall.” They told me to bring US5,000 and we won’t oppose your papers.
“That’s when I told them, guys, I just can’t do such if president NC (Nelson Chamisa) isn’t involved. I can’t be involved. Some other people in party were now saying to me I should just give in, because your family is the one to suffer.
“I am attached to the people.”
Meanwhile, multiple ZANU PF sources told ZimEye, ZANU parliamentary candidates benefitting from the recalls are being charged amounts up to USD10,000 by Sengezo Tshabangu.
Mnangagwa cousin, Temba Mliswa confirmed the development when he in a side comment said, “Chamisa is now finished because his MPs are desperate for money, being allowances paid to representatives.”
Meanwhile, the USD10,000 payment scheme leaked to ZimEye by various ZANU PF parliamentary candidates, was followed up on with Tshabangu in person who on 4 December 2023 was caught unawares weeks after continuing Emmerson Mnangagwa-ZANU PF based conversations with an undercover journalist. The journo in November 2023 had joined into his parliamentary-recall-operations with which he (Tshabangu) says he is fronting the interests of the Nelson Chamisa led, Citizens Coalition For Change (CCC) party, an institution he says he represents as its Secretary General, an appointment rubbished by Chamisa and under which he has been told by the world’s oldest organisation,
the Inter Parliamentary Union to reverse his recalls of elected representatives.
The CCC party describes him as an imposter who presented a fraudulent letter to the Speaker Of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda in October.

Tshabangu’s recalls, part of ZANU PF’s 44 year old rain-making rituals turning election winners into corpses, began with the abrupt kicking out of 23 elected representatives in October 2023, and have led an aura of violence in which the CCC’s Mabvuku constituency winner’ campaign agent, Bishop Tapfumaneyi Masaya has been killed.
Tshabangu arranged for the Crowne Plaza Hotel meeting to thank the Mabvuku “MP-hopeful” Scott Sakupwanya for assisting him in writing a letter to the Inter Parliamentary Union so to execute murder cover ups. Unbeknown to him the letter had been assembled by an undercover journalist, Simba Chikanza disguised as “Cde Mabhunu” who only revealed himself via Facebook LIVE video after Tshabangu had spent tens of minutes waiting at the hotel with 5 other Sakupwanya Aides.
Scott Sakupwanya who is described in Al Jazeera’s GoldMafia documentary as one of the mafia members, is Zimbabwe’s largest gold buyer and Emmerson Mnangagwa’s business runner or front.

The tight rope around Tshabangu’s neck’s career isn’t just the live video footage, but the murder-cover-up letter he wrote to the IPU which was wholly constructed ‘by an aide of Scott Sakupwanya,’ under his full knowledge that he is being instructed by Emmerson Mnangagwa’s personal gold buyer and parliamentary wishful for Mabvuku.

By A Correspondent | When Chris Mutsvangwa held a presss conference to celebrate the resignation of the legitimate ZANU PF leader, Robert Mugabe in Nov 2017 no one ever thought there would be repeat attacks in future.
The ZANU PF Spokesman is this afternoon running a press conference to celebrate the removal of the CCC party founder, Nelson Chamisa from his own party that he (Chamisa) formed barely 2 years ago after being removed from the MDC Alliance he was president of and with which he has suffered numerous military deployments since 1 August 2018 for the purpose of changing election results so that they reflect a better outcome “than the one which we did in 1980,” in Chris Mutsvangwa’s own words verbatim (video).
In 2020, soldiers were deployed to dispossess Chamisa of his party property, Harvest House.
This time, Mutsvangwa says “we want to protect Biti and Welshman against Chamisa by denying his overtures to strike a deal with President Mnangagwa,” as he announced in Oct last year.

When the Prime Minister announced the Brexit deal in December 2020, he said: “We have taken back control of laws and our destiny. We have taken back control of every jot and tittle of our regulation in a way that is complete and unfettered destiny.” Before Brexit, many constituents would write to me to complain about regulations that burdened them daily. From farmers to electricians, on so many issues I had to tell them that even as their Member of Parliament (MP) I could not help to solve their problems as these rules were set by the European Union (EU), not the British Parliament. Thanks to Brexit, this has all changed. As the Prime Minister said, Britain has won the right to “set our own standards, to innovate in the way that we want” and to use regulatory competition to make the most of our newfound freedoms. Recently, I was appointed Minister for Brexit Opportunities and Government Efficiency to ensure that this is all achieved. Competition, innovation and deregulation sit at the heart of my mission. The immense talent and ambition across the whole United Kingdom (UK) is our greatest national asset and I firmly believe that the Government should never stand in the way of its flourishing. The vaccine procurement programme is one example of what Brexit opportunities can look like. Suffocating EU procurement laws and bureaucracy were overridden by the Vaccines Taskforce and Dame Kate Bingham, led by a Prime Minister who took such a great risk in the face of overwhelming opposition. There is hardly a better example of why Britain must forge ahead with a deregulatory agenda and diverge from EU rules, which prioritise process over results and protect incumbents instead of letting new businesses thrive. Brexit opportunities and government efficiency have the same ambition: making the lives of British people easier. Just as the Government is combing through our statute books and regulations to get rid of obsolete EU laws it is also squeezing efficiency out of the British state, making public services more responsive to modern needs and breaking the government out of its Whitehall ivory towers with a relocation programme. Equally, to guarantee that the British people have access to the world’s best medicines we can use our freedom to approve life-saving drugs faster and at better prices than ever before, making a great legacy of the vaccine programme. However, it is vital that the Conservative Party remains the party of prosperity and enterprise in government, which is why we are using this scope to make great changes. This includes a new procurement regime so that small businesses find it easier to gain access to public contracts. There will also be a new approach to data, removing the EU’s cumbersome policy that makes a sole trader comply with the same heavy regulations as a multinational company. Over decades of membership of the EU, our country has been encumbered by the shackles of Brussels bureaucracy. At last we are free but we must fight on – it will be a national effort to realise the potential that we have to make Britain great again. If readers have any suggestions about abolishing EU regulations please write to me: publiccorrespondence@cabinetoffice.gov.uk / Cabinet Office, 70 Whitehall, London, SW1A 2AS

By-President Mnangagwa has reappointed Justice Priscilla Chigumba as the Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) for another six-year term in terms of Section 238 (5) of the Constitution with effect from February 1.
Political analysts yesterday said the reappointment was in line with the country’s Constitution and a vote of confidence in Justice Chigumba.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Martin Rushwaya relayed the reappointment to Justice Chigumba in a letter yesterday.
“I am pleased to advise that His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde. E.D. Mnangagwa has, in terms of Section 238(5) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe (No. 20) Act 2013 reappointed you as the Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission for a period of six years with effect from 1 February 2024,” he said. Under the Constitution the chairperson of ZEC can serve two six-year terms. Because Justice Chigumba is a judge, she can return to the High Court at the end of her terms. In an interview, political analyst Dr Hamadziripi Dube said Justice Chigumba had improved ZEC systems during her first term. “The President has a constitutional mandate of appointing anyone to be the ZEC chairperson. By re-appointing Justice Priscilla Chigumba it is in conformity with the Constitution of Zimbabwe. “He does not do it without consultation as he is a listening President. Justice Chigumba led twice the processes of harmonised elections and did it differently improving the ZEC systems and dealing with anomalies promptly. “Her reappointment is in line with the constitution and gives more time to improve and analyse errors as well as more ways of electoral process or ZEC system reticulation,” he said. Catholic University of Zimbabwe lecturer Dr Tongai Dana said Justice Chigumba’s re-appointment would ensure continuity at ZEC. “From where I stand, Justice Chigumba’s re-appointment as the Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) by President Mnangagwa can be seen as a positive move for continuity and stability in the electoral process. “It suggests that her previous performance was deemed satisfactory and that she has demonstrated the necessary skills and expertise to lead the ZEC effectively,” he said. Justice Chigumba obtained her law degree in the United Kingdom and joined Gollop and Blank law firm in 1994. She practiced as a lawyer for six years before joining PG Industries as assistant company secretary and later formed her own law firm. Justice Chigumba joined the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs as a magistrate in 2004. -Herald

In a recent verdict, Magistrate Constance Mutandwa has handed down a one-month jail sentence, wholly suspended, to Beatrice Chikomba, a 46-year-old Grade 7 teacher at Chaka Primary School in Chivhu.
The teacher had instructed her students to physically assault a fellow pupil who had failed a Continuous Assessment Learning Activities (CALA) assignment.
The incident, which occurred on September 29, 2023, left the student with a swollen face.
However, Magistrate Mutandwa granted leniency, allowing Chikomba to avoid imprisonment by paying a fine of US$150.
The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has called a meeting of its standing committee on Sunday to appoint an acting leader after Nelson Chamisa quit suddenly on Thursday.
A statement by the party said the CCC’s leadership structure would revert to the officials elected at the MDC Alliance congress in Gweru in May 2019, before the party resolved in January last year to abandon the MDC Alliance name and form CCC.
Meanwhile, the party said one of its three vice presidents Karenyi Kore, the MP for Chikanga, has been appointed leader of the opposition in parliament, replacing Chamisa’s pick Amos Chibaya who was recalled by self-styled CCC interim secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu and subsequently barred by a court from running in by-elections set for February 3.
Chamisa’s two other former deputies, Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti will attend Sunday’s meeting, ZimLive understands.
A fight between Chamisa and leaders elected at the MDC Alliance’s Gweru congress ultimately led to his decision to quit the party. Chamisa maintained that CCC was a new party and no-one held a position, but those leaders felt sidelined and accused him of staging a “coup.”
“The CCC said in a statement: “Following President Chamisa’s statement, the party leadership elected at the Gweru congress convened an emergency meeting to consider both the contents of president Chamisa’s statement, and its immediate implications.
“It is important to remember that president Chamisa was elected unopposed at the Gweru national congress in May 2019. His leadership and presidency of the party has never been in dispute or contestation. Until his statement, he was the undisputed president of the party.
“The party leadership resolved that power and authority will collectively reside in the national leadership elected at the Gweru national congress. The leadership further reaffirmed the authority of national, provincial, district, ward and branch executive committees elected leading to the May 2019 Gweru congress.
“The leadership also resolved to lead a process to engage president Chamisa in a deliberate and determined manner in an effort to resolve some issues he raised in his statement.
“The leadership further resolved that another leadership meeting will be convened as a matter of urgency and further announcements will be made after that meeting.
“It is important that all party deployees in various positions of responsibility must continue executing their mandates whilst the leadership seeks ways to resolve the current issues. The general membership of the party is also called upon to jealously guard and defend the unity and cohesion of the party, and to do all that will enhance the standing of the party.”
CCC sources said the party was also seeking urgent talks with Tshabangu.
“One of his stated goals was that he wanted to return the party to constitutionalism and collective decision-making. The resolution to return to 2019 structures achieves that and given that he is the one that is now recognised by parliament and the courts as interim secretary general, we hope he will be happy to surrender the party back to its elected officials,” an official said, asking not to be named.
Following Chamisa’s announcement that he had quit the party, several CCC MPs have taken to social media to show their loyalty and say they “stand with him.” None of the MPs has resigned, but pressure will continue to build for them to dissociate themselves from the party.
Above all, I want to thank you. I do not take your confidence in me for granted. In fact, it has been the honour of my life to represent you. This is not the end for us but the beginning of a different journey.
One of my first promises to you was to always be honest, transparent and accountable in my decisions. It is in this spirit that I wish to lay out my reasons for leaving the Citizen’s Coalition for Change and resigning from Parliament with immediate effect.
When the CCC was launched in January of 2022, it was with the shared understanding that this new movement would be underpinned by the core value of being citizen-centred. It would put the welfare and aspirations of constituents like you at the heart of all decision-making. Our goal was to build a new Zimbabwe that offered dignity, prosperity and opportunity for everyone.
We agreed to run under the leadership of President Nelson Chamisa as we sought to introduce a new way of doing politics. Central to this objective was a belief that we would put the people first.
In the wake of the jarring electoral fraud we witnessed in August 2023, we made the tough decision to represent those hard-won constituencies in an effort to push the democratic process from multiple fronts.
Despite numerous odds, we fought hard to push back against unjust, anti-people pronouncements like the 2024 Budget, the fees crisis in higher education, the power crisis, the broken economy and the imposition of candidates following a series of fraudulent recalls.
Despite our focus on a battle of ideas and policy, the regime chose the low road of an unconstitutional onslaught on the will of the people. They used surrogates and dark actors such as a Mr Tshabangu, whom I do not know and have not met. Their goal is to force the two-thirds majority they failed to garner in August 2023 despite unprecedented electoral malpractices that left the region, and indeed the globe, in shock.
We have seen the widespread abuse of state institutions which have effectively handed over all levers of control of the CCC to this imposter.
The assault on the will of the people, the tainted state of Parliament, coupled with sundry breaches of Parliamentary privilege, illegal suspensions and the decision by President Nelson Chamisa to dissociate himself from the captured CCC have made it untenable for me to continue in my role as a member of parliament for Mt Pleasant Constituency under the CCC banner.
You chose me to represent you on a platform of values which are no longer at the heart of the CCC. I cannot remain a representative of a party whose leadership is unknown to me and whose motives and values remain opaque. I would be failing you if I held onto a position that will no longer serve the best interests of our community.
The CCC that I joined is not the CCC that we have left today. I cannot in good conscience be aligned to individuals who have caused unimaginable harm to the people by aligning themselves with a corrupt dictatorship.
I also cannot partner with persons who are willing to undo the will of the people and hand over seats that citizens stood in line for hours to vote for just to score cheap political points. This is not who I am or who I aspire to be.
The struggle for a democratic society should never be sacrificed at the altar of expediency. I remain committed to the cause of a better Zimbabwe. This is not an end but merely a line in the sand.
As always, I will remain a champion of the numerous causes important to our diverse community. I remain at your disposal, as we collectively navigate this uncertain phase ahead of us. Together, we will win Zimbabwe for change.
To give legal effect to this decision, I will tender my formal resignation notice to the Speaker of Parliament in line with section 129(1)(b) of the Constitution early next week when Parliament re-opens.
Harare, January 26, 2024 – Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) expressed grave concern over the recent harassment and intimidation of senior legal practitioner Harrison Nkomo by some members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) at the Harare Magistrates Court.
Nkomo, a member of ZLHR, was representing former Zengeza West legislator Hon. Job Sikhala, who faces charges of inciting public violence and communicating falsehoods.
On January 24, 2024, Nkomo was obstructed from entering a courtroom by ZRP officers, who even went as far as pointing a firearm at him, despite his identification.
Jeremiah Bamu, another lawyer from ZLHR representing Sikhala, protested against this mistreatment before Magistrate Tafadzwa Miti, who subsequently ordered an investigation into the incident.
ZLHR strongly condemned the unwarranted interference in the professional duties of a legal practitioner and the reckless threat to Nkomo’s life.
The organization emphasized that law enforcement agents must respect the rights of legal practitioners and cease attacks on lawyers while they perform their legitimate and professional duties.
In a storied history of seven encounters, Nigeria and Cameroon have battled fiercely at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The balance hangs in equilibrium, with each team securing victory three times, and one match ending in a draw.
Cameroon showcased their prowess in the final matches of the 1984, 1988, and 2000 AFCON tournaments.
However, the Eagles claimed their victories, including a memorable bronze-medal match in 1992, a 2-1 triumph over the reigning champions in the 2004 quarter-finals, and a thrilling 3-2 win in the Round of 16 in Egypt four years ago.
The intense rivalry saw both teams share the spoils in a 1-1 draw during the group phase in 1988.
Notable moments include Samuel Okwaraji’s early scorcher in Rabat, countered by Roger Milla’s header, leaving the Nigerian defense in suspense as they momentarily thought they had kept him offside
Analyzing Emmerson Mnangagwa’s Call Amidst Allegations of Historical Division
By Farai D Hove |ZANU PF President Emmerson Mnangagwa has advocated for national unity, contrasting starkly with his long-standing reputation as a divisive figure in Zimbabwean politics and history. This analysis delves into the dichotomy between Mnangagwa’s recent call for unity and his alleged role in perpetuating disunity and factionalism within the country, particularly within the ruling party, ZANU PF.
**Mnangagwa’s Call for Unity:**
President Mnangagwa, in his recent address, emphasized the paramount importance of national unity, stating, “There is nothing more important than national unity. Together we prosper ?? Today, I met with the Chiefs Council and re-emphasized our commitment to resolve the Gukurahundi issue. This journey is about building a stronger Zimbabwe.”
**The Gukurahundi Controversy:**
Mnangagwa’s reference to the Gukurahundi massacres, where an estimated 30,000 people were killed in Matabeleland and Midlands provinces in the 1980s, is particularly significant. The incident remains one of the darkest chapters in Zimbabwe’s history, and Mnangagwa’s role during that period has been a subject of intense scrutiny and controversy.
**Allegations of Creating Factionalism:**
Despite his recent advocacy for unity, Mnangagwa has been accused of being a central figure in creating and exacerbating factionalism within ZANU PF. Critics allege that he has systematically dismantled every faction within the party, consolidating power around himself.
**War Veterans’ Conference Revelations:**
A pivotal moment came during an unchallenged war veterans’ conference, where Senior fighter Karen Kazingizi, among others, made bold claims against Mnangagwa. The conference echoed allegations that Mnangagwa did not participate in the liberation struggle as previously claimed, but was instead “handpicked” by the late Robert Mugabe, thus displacing real war veterans.
**Kazingizi’s Claims:**
Kazingizi’s statement during the press conference is telling: “Emmerson Mnangagwa is one of them… After studying law, he was also recruited by Robert Mugabe, to replace those who were fighting the war… When Mugabe had ended the war, the people who had elected him… he had chopped them all off, all of them the Gamatox and other factions without number.”
This juxtaposition of Mnangagwa’s recent overtures for unity against his alleged historical role in fostering division within ZANU PF and the country at large raises questions about the sincerity and feasibility of his unity call. The stark difference between his public statements and the perceptions held by significant figures such as war veterans suggests a complex political landscape, where Mnangagwa’s past actions might undermine his current efforts at fostering national cohesion.
The call for unity by President Mnangagwa, a figure deeply entrenched in Zimbabwe’s turbulent political history, presents a paradox. While his recent statements and meetings indicate a shift towards reconciliation and unity, his alleged historical role in creating disunity and suppressing dissent within ZANU PF and the nation casts doubt on the authenticity of his intentions. As Zimbabwe grapples with its past and future, the true test of Mnangagwa’s commitment to unity will be in his actions and policies, and whether they can bridge the deep divisions that have long characterized Zimbabwean politics.
A 40-year-old man from Rushinga will spend 20 years behind bars after being convicted of raping and impregnating his 17-year-old stepdaughter.
The court heard that in September last year the juvenile was left in the custody of Richard Garwe in Chokuwamba village of Rushinga.
It further emerged that Garwe took advantage of his wife’s absence and raped the young girl once and threatened to kill her if she divulged the matter.
The matter, however, came to light in October last year when the victim confided in her sister who in turn told their biological father before a police report was made.
The 17-year-old girl was referred to Chimhanda hospital for medical examination which confirmed the rape and pregnancy.
Garwe has another pending case for allegedly raping his 16-year-old daughter from 2021 until she fell pregnant in 2023.
The accused will be back in court on the 8th of next month.
By Dorrothy Moyo | A petrol station was robbed yesterday, located just 13 minutes away from the State House, the official residence of the President. This robbery, occurring in close proximity to the epicenter of national governance, has sparked a wave of concern among the public and officials alike.
The incident gains additional significance in light of recent developments within the President’s inner circle. Paradzai Kutyauripo, a convicted armed robber, has been appointed as the Director of all State Residences. Notably, Kutyauripo is also the brother of Mnangagwa’s wife, adding a layer of familial ties to this controversial decision.
Critics argue that the proximity of the robbery to the President’s residence, coupled with the appointment of a known criminal to a key security position, exposes a severe lapse in judgement and a potential vulnerability in state security. The fact that such a crime could occur so close to the State House is being seen by some as a mockery of the administration’s ability to ensure safety, even within its most secure zones.
The President’s office has yet to issue a formal statement regarding the robbery or address the concerns raised by Kutyauripo’s appointment. However, this incident has undoubtedly intensified the scrutiny of the President’s decisions and the overall state of security under his administration.
As the situation unfolds, the public’s attention is focused on how the President will respond to this incident and the growing unease about the security of the nation’s most sensitive locations. This robbery, though seemingly isolated, has brought to the fore critical questions about the leadership’s choices and the implications for national security.
