Zemura Available For Warriors Qualifiers

Italian side Udinese has confirmed Jordan Zemura’s availability for the Warriors’ 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C games against Lesotho and South Africa in June.

Zemura’s availability was shrouded in uncertainty after media reports suggested a rift between him and ZIFA.

The reported rift came after the player allegedly expressed unhappiness with treatment from former interim coach Norman Mapeza.

Earlier suggestions had indicated that ZIFA wasn’t going to include the player in the squad.

But after he was named in the selection for the upcoming games, Zemura’s club has now confirmed his availability.

Soft Coup: Drug Fueled TakeOver, Sat Soliloquy

By Dr Raymond Chamba | I dream in technicolor and today I had a nightmare that was both grotesque but crystal clear.

Dr Raymond Chamba

In a land far and far away I dreamt that a whole country had been put on ransom. All done through a most elegant, bold and bodacious takeover of power through drug use/abuse introduced by the wife, children, friends and global allies of a leader to the leader.

Wicknell Chivayo signing a contract with a group of businessmen

The children of the leader introduced their drug dealing friend to the father and thereon he got hooked and cooked. To the people of the land they wondered and were surprised as to why someone from somewhere would come so close to the leadership but the reality was that in the dream the new-comer was the real leader with connivance from his friends and their mother. The father though a leader is nothing more than a pliant drug dependent scank.

In the dream, he was occasionally brought up before crowds and would exercise his leadership by pronouncing to the crowds the most outlandish of things all not a joke but a sad indictment of his drug fuelled sickness.

Everything in the country of my nightmare was already operationally controlled by the wife, children and a network of sub leaders all fuelled and driven by drugs.

Wicknell Chivayo with the former First Family in Dubai

The conspiracy was deep and goes beyond many countries as the control was perpetrated for maximum exploitation of everything in the Kingdom. In my nightmare the dreams ended with the elimination of the drug supplier of Kings, the cleansing of the Kingdom and sidelining of all compromised sub rulers.

In my dream or nightmare I saw the ugly operation of what could be a smooth bedroom coup by drug use, abuse, spiritual incantations and accelerated smuggling of the highest order. The fat scoundrel in my dreams did it before by introducing drugs to the children of the previous ruler and buying all kinds of trinkets to the wife. I saw people with very short and forgetful memories in my dream….

The sun started shining. Crops that were wilting started coming out alive, people who were lost in their minds started believing in themselves, a Kingdom of splendour and possibility was created and recreated.

Slay the dragon. Slay the drug supplying dragon. Sideline the users, pushers and heal the affected said a voice from the deep. Don’t worry about the many parties and spiritual incantations run amok across all sacred places the deep voice boomed. It will all come to nothing. It’s playing with fire and seeking to put it down with their collective urination. They will ? burn the voice declared….

I woke up confused, exasperated but filled with hope for change in that dream land and perhaps all lands similarly afflicted. I just could not get one thought from ringing out of my mind…..”VANOTONGWA NEBENZI”.

Mohadi Collapses During UZ Lecture

By Political Reporter- Vice President Kembo Mohadi collapsed on Thursday while delivering a lecture at the University of Zimbabwe (UZ).

Mohadi, 74, was reportedly in the middle of his address when he suddenly appeared disoriented and asked for water.

A local online portal reported that his knees buckled shortly after, prompting his aides to rush to his aid. According to a witness cited by the online newspaper, “He couldn’t stand, so they helped him to a chair. He spoke briefly afterward, but following animated backstage discussions, his presentation was cut short.”

Mohadi’s aides from the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) ordered journalists covering the event to stop filming and taking pictures.

Mohadi was delivering a lecture titled “Liberation Movements and African Unity: Why Resilience Matters for Sustained Transformative Possibilities.”

Later that day, he was notably absent when President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga attended the launch of 17 schools in Chikomba, constructed with assistance from the OPEC Fund for International Development.

Presidential spokesperson George Charamba stated that Mohadi was away throughout the day and requested more time to gather the facts.

A ZANU PF official present at the event clarified to ZimLive, “He was reading his speech and then he asked for water. He had to be helped to sit down. He then continued his speech while seated. He did not necessarily collapse. In essence, he broke the collapse.”

This incident mirrors a previous occurrence in October 2023, when state security agents ordered journalists to delete photos and videos of Mohadi collapsing at a campaign rally in Gutu, Masvingo.

During that event, the security detail rounded up journalists and demanded they erase their recordings.

Mohadi was reportedly airlifted to an undisclosed location for medical attention. Just before collapsing, Mohadi had reportedly said, “I need water, I need water.”

Chivayo Loots ZEC Cash

It is alleged that Wicknel Chivhayo fraudulently changed the contract between South African company Ren-Form and Better Brands – Pedzisayi Scott Sakupwanya’s entity – for the US$40 million ZEC tender.

Zimbabwe Electoral Commission deal invoices were inflated by up to 235%.

Chaos In CCC As Welshman ‘Fires’ Tshabangu

By Political Reporter- The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) is engulfed in unprecedented turmoil, characterized by internal strife and factionalism, which underscores the apparent disintegration of the party. This chaos is primarily fueled by the self-appointment of Sengezo Tshabangu to a top parliamentary position, a move that has sparked outrage and confusion within the party ranks. Tshabangu’s unilateral decision to appoint himself as the overall leader of the opposition in Parliament, overseeing both the Senate and the National Assembly, has been met with fierce resistance.

A faction led by Professor Welshman Ncube vehemently disputes these appointments, arguing that they were made without the party’s endorsement or proper consultation. The faction asserts that these actions were taken without the involvement of CCC’s official leadership or its deliberative organs, thus lacking legitimacy. On May 30th, Tshabangu’s controversial appointments were announced in Parliament, with Lynette Karenyi-Kore named as the leader of CCC legislators in the National Assembly.

However, this has only deepened the divide within the party. Jacob Mafume, spokesperson for the Ncube-led faction, has indicated that the party is engaging with the Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda, to have these appointments rescinded.

He emphasized that these positions were filled without following due process, highlighting the ongoing efforts to rectify what they consider an anomaly. Tshabangu’s appointments include key roles such as Chief Whips, members of various parliamentary committees, and international delegations, further consolidating his influence.

This power grab has not only exacerbated internal tensions but also cast a shadow over the CCC’s unity and future prospects. The appointments made by Tshabangu are as follows: – Hon. Lynette Karenyi-Kore, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly; – Hon. Sen. Sengezo Tshabangu, Leader of Opposition in the Senate and overall leader of the Opposition in Parliament; – Hon. Sen. Sipho Mlotshwa, Chief Whip in Senate; – Hon. Sen. Sesel Zvidzai, Deputy Chief Whip in the Senate; – Hon. Edwin Mushoriwa, Chief Whip in the National Assembly; – Hon. Brian Nyandoro, Deputy Chief Whip in the National Assembly; – Hon. Sichelesile Mahlangu and Hon. Sen. Kucaca Phulu to be Members on Standing Rules and Orders Committee; – Hon. Olivia Sinda, Deputy Chairperson of the Zimbabwe Women’s Parliamentary Caucus; – Hon. Cathrine Chinanzvavana, Organiser for the Zimbabwe Women’s Parliamentary Caucus; – Hon. Juliet Makuvire, Member of the Executive Committee in the Zimbabwe Women’s Parliamentary Caucus Executive; – Hon. Stellah Matsunga, Member of the Africa Parliamentary Union Delegation; – Hon. Sen. Sengezo Tshabangu and Hon. Maureen Kademaunga, Members of the Inter-Parliamentary Union Delegation; – Hon. Nomathemba Mlotshwa, Member of the OACPS EU Delegation; – Hon. Happymore Chidziva, Member of the Pan African Parliamentary Delegation; – Hon. Lynette Karenyi-Kore, Member of the SADC PF Delegation; and – Hon. Mthokozisi Ngwena, Member of the ASSECAA Delegation.

The CCC, once seen as a formidable opposition force, now appears to be unraveling under the weight of internal disputes and power struggles. The infiltration and influence of the ruling ZANU PF within the party are suspected by some, adding a layer of complexity and distrust to the already volatile situation. The fragmentation of CCC leadership, with multiple factions claiming legitimacy, raises questions about the party’s ability to present a cohesive front against the ruling party. This ongoing saga reflects a broader trend of political instability within opposition parties in Zimbabwe, where internal conflicts and external pressures often undermine their effectiveness.

The CCC’s current predicament underscores the challenges of maintaining unity and integrity in a highly polarized and competitive political landscape. The outcome of this internal power struggle will likely have significant implications for the party’s future and its role in Zimbabwe’s political arena.

Wicknell, Java Blue Motorcade Lights Banned

Why Are We Allowing a Clear Violation of Zimbabwean Laws?

I am writing to express my deep concern over the increasing misuse of emergency lights and sirens by government officials and private individuals in Zimbabwe. It has come to my attention that deputy presidents, senior and junior ministers, local authority officials, and even private citizens are routinely driving with blue lights and sirens activated, in clear violation of Zimbabwean laws and regulations.

The use of emergency vehicles and their associated equipment is strictly regulated in Zimbabwe and is intended solely for genuine, life-threatening situations that require rapid response. It is unacceptable for government officials and others to exploit these privileges for their own convenience or to bypass normal traffic rules and procedures.

This flagrant disregard for the law sets a dangerous precedent and undermines the credibility of the government and its institutions. It also puts the safety of the general public at risk, as other drivers may be caught off guard or feel compelled to yield the right-of-way to these unauthorized “emergency” vehicles.

I strongly urge your office to investigate this issue thoroughly and take swift, decisive action to address it. All individuals, regardless of their position or status, must be held accountable to the same laws and regulations. Appropriate disciplinary measures should be taken against any offenders, and clear guidelines and enforcement mechanisms should be put in place to prevent such abuses from occurring in the future.

The Zimbabwean people deserve a government that leads by example and upholds the rule of law. I implore you to take immediate steps to ensure that all officials and citizens are required to follow the same traffic laws and regulations, without exception.

Our law enforcement agencies should stop this illegality, arrest those individuals, and follow the stipulated law. No one is above the law.

Coltart Slams Tshabangu Though Won’t Resign for the Masses

By Dorrothy Moyo | Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – In a sharply worded statement, Bulawayo Mayor David Coltart has expressed strong disapproval over the recent appointment of the self imposed Sengezo Tshabangu as the leader of the Opposition in Parliament. Coltart’s remarks highlight significant concerns regarding the democratic processes and the principles of representative democracy.

Coltart made the comments while indicating he won’t resign to honour his supporters who want him away from Emmerson Mnangagwa’s poisoned establishment.

The Mayor’s statement reads:

“I am appalled by the statement made by the Speaker of Parliament yesterday that Mr. Tshabangu has been recognized as the leader of the Opposition in Parliament. In my view, this act is in fact contemptuous of Parliament itself.

At their core, all Parliaments throughout the world are meant to be representative institutions. They have been established to give the public a voice. The whole purpose of elections is to ensure that elected MPs can enunciate the concerns and issues of those who elected them. This is the very essence of representative democracy. It follows that the leader of the Opposition must be a person who clearly represents the interests of citizens who oppose the government of the day and who has been clearly chosen by them, either directly or indirectly, to lead them in Parliament.”

Coltart underscores the foundational role of Parliament as a representative institution, established to amplify the public’s voice. He argues that the recognition of Tshabangu undermines this principle, as it bypasses the electorate’s choice.

The essence of representative democracy, according to Coltart, is that the leader of the Opposition must be someone who genuinely represents the interests of those opposing the current government. This leader should be someone chosen directly or indirectly by the people, ensuring that their concerns and issues are accurately conveyed in Parliament.

Coltart’s criticism raises broader questions about the legitimacy and transparency of political appointments in Zimbabwe. His statement suggests that recognizing Tshabangu as the leader of the Opposition without clear electoral or representative backing is a move that could erode public trust in parliamentary processes.

### Public and Political Response

Coltart’s remarks have already sparked significant discussion among political analysts and the public. There are calls for a review of the Speaker’s decision, with many demanding greater transparency and adherence to democratic norms in parliamentary appointments.

### Conclusion

As the debate continues, the recognition of Sengezo Tshabangu as the leader of the Opposition remains a contentious issue. Mayor David Coltart’s outspoken criticism highlights the need for adherence to democratic principles and the proper representation of the electorate’s will in parliamentary decisions. The political landscape in Zimbabwe is closely watching how this situation will unfold, with potential implications for the country’s democratic integrity.

Kereke Runs Out Of Luck, Re-Imprisoned

Munyaradzi Kereke, a former legislator, has lost his appeal at the Supreme Court and is required to return to prison to complete his sentence. Initially, Kereke was sentenced to an effective 10-year term for the rape of a juvenile relative. He had been out on bail while awaiting the outcome of his appeal. With the Supreme Court’s recent decision, Kereke now faces the remaining 20 months of his sentence behind bars.

Kereke’s appeal was based on five grounds, all of which were dismissed by the Supreme Court. One of his primary arguments was that the trial court had erred in its assessment of his alibi defense. He contended that the court did not apply the correct legal test and failed to consider the lack of rebuttal evidence from the prosecution. Kereke maintained that this oversight should have cast doubt on the prosecution’s case against him.

However, the Supreme Court found these arguments unpersuasive. The court ruled that the complainant, who was the primary witness in the case, provided testimony that met the required threshold of credibility as established by case law. The court highlighted the strength and reliability of the complainant’s testimony, which played a crucial role in affirming the trial court’s judgment.

In its decision, the Supreme Court stated, “We are, therefore, satisfied that the defense of an alibi was properly disproved and shown to be false beyond a reasonable doubt. Similarly, the prosecution established beyond a reasonable doubt that all the defense witnesses were coached by the appellant. The defense of an alibi and the other exculpatory evidence of the defense witnesses were clearly shown not only to be reasonably untrue but also to be palpably false.”

This ruling signifies that the court found the evidence against Kereke to be robust and credible, effectively invalidating his claims and supporting the initial conviction. The court’s decision underscores its confidence in the prosecution’s case and the integrity of the trial process, leading to Kereke’s return to prison to serve out his remaining sentence.

Gwanda Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Murdering Wife

In a significant legal decision, a 30-year-old man from Sibhula Village, under Chief Mathema in Gwanda, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the murder of his wife. The High Court sitting in Bulawayo delivered the verdict today, concluding a case that has gripped the community since last August.

Incident Details.

On the night of August 20, 2023, around 11:00 PM, the accused returned home to find his wife, Happiness Ngwenya, asleep with their two young children. An argument ensued between the couple, escalating to physical violence. The accused assaulted Ngwenya with clenched fists and a knobkerrie, followed by strangling her to death.

The accused initially reported to the police that his wife had complained of chest pains earlier and that he discovered her dead upon his return. This narrative was quickly contradicted by the postmortem report, which revealed that the cause of death was strangulation and mechanical asphyxia.

Key Witness and Arrest.

A crucial turn in the investigation came from the testimony of the couple’s five-year-old child. The child informed the police that she had witnessed her father strangling her mother. This testimony was instrumental in the case. The accused was apprehended on August 31, 2023, in Bulawayo, where he had been hiding at his sister’s house.

Court Proceedings.

During the trial on May 30, 2024, the accused claimed that he acted in self-defense, alleging that Ngwenya had grabbed his testicles during the altercation. However, the court found the child’s testimony credible, indicating that the accused was the aggressor and responsible for his wife’s death.

Verdict and Sentence.

The court convicted the accused of murder and sentenced him to 20 years in prison. This sentence serves as a stern reminder of the legal consequences of domestic violence and the importance of justice for victims.

The community remains in shock, but the verdict has brought a sense of closure to those affected by this tragic event. Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of seeking help and reporting domestic violence to prevent such tragedies in the future.

Tshabangu Lands Top Post

By A Correspondent Senator Sengezo Tshabangu, representing Matabeleland North Province, has been appointed leader of the Opposition in Parliament.

This significant announcement was made by National Assembly Speaker Advocate Jacob Mudenda during Thursday’s session.

The appointment has stirred the political landscape, coming shortly after Mudenda reversed the assignment of opposition members to various parliamentary committees.

This reversal followed an instruction from Jameson Timba.

Previously, Chipinge South MP Clifford Hlatwayo had been named as the CCC’s leader of the house, and Nomathemba Ndlovu, the proportional representation MP for Matabeleland South, was appointed as chief whip.

The sudden rise of Tshabangu has not been without controversy.

Former Mount Pleasant MP Fadzayi Mahere, who resigned from parliament in protest against Tshabangu’s actions, criticized the move sharply.

In a fiery post on her Facebook page, Mahere lamented what she perceives as a shift towards a one-party state.

“The reality is that he is a Zanu PF puppet and his formation is a Zanu PF construct, created to do its bidding.

Zimbabwe has been reduced to an effective one-party state,” Mahere asserted.

“He was never the leader of CCC nor did he hold any office that would make him remotely capable of making decisions for members. No values. No honour. No mandate from the membership or the people.”

Mahere further expressed her discontent with the parliamentary dynamics under Tshabangu’s leadership: “Participating in this Zanu PF-engineered joke of a ‘Parliament’ could never be me. Zimbabwe runs a whipping system.

How could I possibly agree to be whipped by someone who is whipped by Zanu PF? What about the people who elected me to stand for change and hold Zanu PF to account?”

As the new leader of the Opposition, Senator Tshabangu is set to play a pivotal role in Parliament.

His responsibilities include serving as the primary spokesperson for the opposition in its interactions with the government and other stakeholders. He will also oversee the formation of parliamentary portfolio committees and the selection of opposition representatives for international organizations, such as the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), the SADC Parliamentary Forum, the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), and the African, Caribbean, and Pacific-European Union (ACP-EU).

Moreover, Tshabangu will be a member of the Parliament Standing Rules and Orders Committee, further solidifying his influence within the legislative framework.

This appointment underscores the volatile nature of Zimbabwean politics, where alignments and power dynamics can shift rapidly, often sparking intense debate and scrutiny from various quarters of the political spectrum.

Sikhala Breathes Fire…

By Hon Job Sikhala

Desperate propaganda by the regime on the circumstances of my 595 days under pre-trial incarceration and the suffering of many other Zimbabweans, as I outlined at the UN Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy, cannot be washed away through bombastic responses like the one by Minister Jenfan Muswere.

It is a lie that I violated any bail conditions. That is why there was no inquiry into such a breach as required by law. It is also a lie that I am a “regime change entrepreneur.” Disdaining oppression is not entrepreneurship but the expression of one’s consciousness against evil. It is also a lie that I ever called for sanctions. The ones who called for sanctions are the current regime in Zimbabwe.

They perpetuate evil in the eyes of the world, and the civilized world responds in equal measure.

  • Stop repression against the defenseless people of Zimbabwe.
  • Stop human rights abuses.
  • Stop using lawfare against opponents.
  • Stop recalling our elected representatives from Parliament.
  • Stop abductions and the murder of political opponents, like what happened to Pastor Tapfumaneyi Masaya.
  • Stop propaganda and false accusations against political opponents.
  • Stop sponsoring violence and disruptions against opposition legitimate political activities.
  • Stop disrupting legitimate processes, like what you did during the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs during their nationwide consultations on the Private Voluntary Organizations Bill.
  • Stop passing repressive legislation.
  • Stop the distribution of food relief based on political affiliation.
  • Stop issuing threats against envisaged political opponents.
  • Stop using our brothers and sisters in the police to brutalize the masses of our people for no reason.
  • Stop corruption.
  • Stop all the evil against our people.

I stand with the masses of our people to fulfill the wishes of the liberation agenda to bring freedom and happiness to our people.

Anything else is drama.

New Mineral Smuggling And Narco Republic

By Dr. Raymond Chamba | Drug dealing cartels have infiltrated the highest echelons of our nation. Indians, Arabs, the local political elite, and the usual suspects are all entangled in this nefarious network. Even the airport VIP lounges have become complicit.

The offspring of celebrated politicians, members of security agencies, airline ticket agencies, and small airlines are all part of extensive smuggling rings that reach the top levels of society. The syndicates have even managed to issue title deeds to state land without a single penny reaching the treasury.

Those who received “free wheels” are being coerced into using them as logistical platforms for the distribution of all manner of illicit substances. As President Mugabe once reminded Namibians at their independence, “There is no free lunch, there has never been any free lunch, and there should never be any free lunch.”

Dr Raymond Chamba

The outlets for consumer access are varied and pervasive, including bars, nightclubs, churches, political rallies, hotels, gochi gochi joints, and sex parties. The once-great nation of Dzimbahwe is slowly transforming into a massive hub for gold, diamonds, drugs, and human trafficking, creating a deep tapestry of blackmail, extortion, and illegal contracting.

The crude and misdirected jokes you hear publicly directed at innocent citizens make you wonder what has gone into the minds of the old and supposedly wise. One possible explanation is that they are high on their own supply, with dementia adding to the toxic cocktail.

…outlets for consumer access says Raymond Chamba

We can discuss ideology all we want, but the danger is that our nation is slowly descending into a kleptocratic, smuggling, narco-Republic where most decent, professional, and high-placed people are caught in the web of newfound “easy money” schemes.

Whole generations of young people and professionals are being drawn into the vicious cycle of drug and political abuse. Something must change, and quickly, before we lose any semblance of a unitary nation-state under general principles of law and order. Some may find my observations sensational or alarming, but the reality is far more dire and grim.

Pastor Kills Lover?

BREAKING NEWS: PASTOR SENTENCED FOR KILLING HIS WIFE

The Polokwane high court on Thursday sentenced a 31-year-old man from Bolobedu to life imprisonment for the murder of a woman in 2021.

Ngwako Elvis Selowa-Makhotoka, a businessman and pastor from Jesus Christ Grace Ministries in Kuranta village, shot dead Thabiso Lethube Masie on August 7 2021.

Masie and her friend were driving from Shikiming village when they came across the accused and his friend, who pretended their vehicle had broken down and they needed assistance. The accused and the deceased were known to each other.

“The deceased stopped her car and alighted to find out if the accused [had problems] with his car; that’s when the accused shot her five times,” National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi said.

Selowa-Makhotoka instructed his friend to mislead the police about the identity of the person who shot Masie and to clean up her vehicle to eliminate possible fingerprints and gun residue by using methylated spirits.

The friend of the accused later became a section 204 state witness.

Selowa-Makhotoka had been on the run for two months when he was arrested at a filling station near Polokwane.

Mnangagwa’s Spokesman Panics As ANC Loses Majority, Screams Out: Wounded ZANU PF “Will Emerge Unscathed!”

Mnangagwa’s Spokesman Expresses Panic Over ANC’s Weakened Position

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | In a riveting revelation, Emmerson Mnangagwa’s spokesman, George Charamba, displayed significant concern late Friday night regarding the precarious position of South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) party. The ANC, which has historically supported Mnangagwa’s ZANU PF party, appears to be struggling to secure a majority, based on the latest electoral figures.

George Charamba

Charamba, using his official X handle @dhonzamusoro007, posted a message underscoring the ANC’s previous pivotal support for ZANU PF amid South African politics. The post highlighted past instances where South African political dynamics involved significant figures interacting with the region and ZANU PF, referencing the political stability this relationship provided. However, Charamba’s tone suggested anxiety about current developments, particularly the possibility of an ANC-DA alliance that could challenge ZANU PF’s influence.

VIDEO

Charamba’s post reads:
“LEST WE DON’T REMEMBER: This is not the first time South African politics have delivered white figures to our region and to Zanu PF! We have had this before, to emerge unscathed. I thus get amused when people suggest some ANC-DA Alliance would leave Zanu PF in some invidious position. Of course not, never!!!!”

The electoral data shows the ANC at 41.10% support, failing to secure an outright majority, which could signal a shift in the political landscape. The Democratic Alliance (DA) has gained ground, securing 21.72% of the vote, positioning itself as a formidable opposition. Meanwhile, Jacob Zuma’s MK party holds third place with 13.65% support. The election results are based on the compilation of 89.06% of the voting districts, indicating a significant but not yet complete tally.

https://x.com/zimeye/status/1796649951302455777?s=46

This shift in the South African political arena could have profound implications for Zimbabwe’s ruling party, ZANU PF. For the past 24 years, ZANU PF has relied on the ANC’s backing to maintain its governance amidst widespread allegations of misrule and economic mismanagement. The ANC’s weakened position may force ZANU PF to reevaluate its political strategies and alliances within the region.

The evolving scenario presents a crucial moment for both South African and Zimbabwean politics, potentially reshaping alliances and power structures that have long been entrenched. The remaining votes and the final outcome of the elections will be critical in determining the future political landscape and its ripple effects on regional stability.- ZimEye

NPA, Judicial Services Commission On Collision Course

By A Correspondent| A Magistrate at Chivi Magistrate’s Court is at the centre of a storm, setting the National Prosecuting Authority and the Judicial Services Commission on a collision course.

This comes after the magistrate, Caroline Tafira Nyoni allegedly caused the arrest of two senior prosecutors at the court for asking for an adjournment and ammending a charge sheet which the Prosecutors Association of Zimbabwe (PAZ) described as intimidation and harrasment.

The two prosecutors Phinos Kwangwari and Kudzai Dhemba have since been freed after their prosecution was declined at Masvingo Magistrate’s Court.

They had been charged with contempt of court and criminal abuse of duty with the police alleging that they had misled the court by stating that a suspect had been arrested for dealing in 20 litres of diesel yet they had 60 litres.

In a statement, PAZ said it was “deeply concerned by the arrest and harassment of two public prosecutors stationed at Chivi Magistrates Court including the Public Prosecutor in Charge” for executing their duties.

“Allegations that occasioned their arrest arise from a matter which was procedurally vetted and properly placed before the court; be that as it may, the Prosecutors are being charged with abuse of public office emanating from properly amending and drafting a charge sheet and State Outline of the State Case and Asking for an adjournment during court proceedings Prosecutors Association of Zimbabwe notes with concern that these allegations arise from the conduct of prosecutors during the course of their work.

“Prosecutors are guaranteed protection by the law and constitution of the Republic of Zimbabwe to execute their duties without fear of harassment, intimidation or threats of being arrested in conducting their duties.

“The incident in Chivi Magistrates is therefore worrying and distressing.
“Prosecutors Association of Zimbabwe applauds the decision made not to place the two prosecutors on remand on the allegations emanating from the course and confinements of their duties,” the letter reads.

Sources close to the developments told this publication that this is not the first time that the same magistrate has found herself in similar controversy, one of which led to her being transferred from Mberengwa court.

In a tragic incident that has left the Southlea Park community in Harare reeling, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) have confirmed the arrest of Joseph Masamba, 34, in connection with the murder of Tatenda Nigel Bvukumbwe, 32.

The incident occurred on May 26, 2024, at a local garage following a heated dispute over a vehicle repair payment.

According to the ZRP, the fatal altercation ensued after Bvukumbwe and Masamba had a misunderstanding regarding the cost of repairs to Bvukumbwe’s vehicle.

The argument escalated, and Masamba allegedly assaulted Bvukumbwe with open hands.

Despite the seemingly less lethal nature of the assault, the impact proved fatal, leading to Bvukumbwe’s death.

The circumstances surrounding the incident have raised significant concerns and discussions within the community about conflict resolution and the unexpected lethality of physical altercations.

Eyewitnesses and those close to the victim expressed shock and disbelief that a dispute over payment could lead to such a tragic outcome.

The ZRP has stated that they are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure justice is served.

Mnangagwa Rewards Tshabangu With Top Post

Mnangagwa’s Empty Promises Continue

By A Correspondent

Despite President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent claims of progress in Zimbabwe’s educational sector, critics argue that his statements are nothing more than grandstanding.

On Friday, Mnangagwa boasted about commissioning 17 new schools.

“Today, I visited the Makumimavi Primary School in Chikomba District, Mashonaland East, to commission 17 new schools,” he declared.

“These schools, built across the nation, represent our unwavering commitment to providing modern facilities and resources for learners and teachers in rural and remote areas.”

Mnangagwa emphasized the significance of these developments, stating, “This significant milestone underscores our dedication to advancing education and ensuring that every child in Zimbabwe has access to quality learning environments. Together, we are building a brighter future for our nation.”

However, observers are skeptical of Mnangagwa’s claims. Critics argue that these pronouncements are a reflection of sheer grandstanding, pointing out the dissonance between the President’s statements and the actual state of the education sector.

Educational analysts have noted persistent issues such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of learning materials, and unfulfilled promises in previous years.

“While the President’s words are encouraging, the reality on the ground tells a different story,” said one analyst.

“Many schools in rural areas still lack basic amenities such as electricity, running water, and proper sanitation facilities. The gap between promises and delivery remains wide.”

Teachers’ unions have also expressed doubts about the impact of these new schools.

“We have heard similar promises before,” remarked a Progressive Teachers’ Union of Zimbabwe official.

“What we need is not just the commissioning of schools but sustained investment in educational resources and teacher welfare. Without these, any new infrastructure will be of limited use.”

In the face of these criticisms, Mnangagwa’s administration maintains that the commissioning of new schools is a crucial step towards improving the educational landscape.

Yet, for many Zimbabweans, the proof will be in the tangible improvements seen in their communities.

As the debate continues, the focus remains on whether these new schools will indeed bring the promised advancements or if they will become yet another example of unfulfilled governmental pledges.

Geographical Distribution
The election map reveals varied support across different regions. The ANC holds significant sway in rural areas and several provinces, depicted in yellow on the map. The DA’s influence is more pronounced in urban centers and the Western Cape, marked in blue. The M.K. party has secured notable regions, indicated in green, reflecting its growing influence.

Political Implications
The ANC’s reduced majority may indicate a shift in South Africa’s political dynamics, with voters increasingly turning to alternative parties. The rise of the DA, M.K., and other smaller parties suggests a more fragmented and competitive political landscape.

### Conclusion
As the final counts are awaited, South Africa stands at a critical juncture, with these elections potentially reshaping its political future. The official seat allocations will be crucial in determining the balance of power in the National Assembly. Stay tuned for further updates and detailed analysis as the complete results are finalized.- ZimEye

Businessman Exposed In Court For Flying Cops To Arrest Rival

By A Correspondent| In a strange revelation which came out in court, police officers were reportedly flown to Kanyemba by owners of a safari in the Zambezi Valley to arrest a rival, William Terrence Kelly who is the managing director of Chewore Lodges.

Kelly is standing trial on allegations of illegally entering Big Five safaris and stealing motion cameras and deleting data.

It is alleged that he illegally entered the estate and stole the camera which monitored movements where professional hunter Clifton Walker with the help of national parks officials had set bait for a hunt.

He has denied the allegations and believes there is malice around his arrest amid reports that the matter was initially declined prosecution at Guruve magistrates court.

He argued that he did not enter the estate illegally as it is his property given to him by Parks authorities in terms of a lease agreement signed in 2017 and the said hunting by Walker was illegal and poaching which he was preventing.

He argued that Big Five’s lease expired in 2021 and according to a clause in the lease it was not to be renewed and his granted him authority to get part of the estate.

His lawyer Mr Everson Chatambudza made the revelation that cops were flown to arrest his client by a plane from Big Five while cross examining a State witness Charles Kanda an official from parks.
“Are you aware that the matter was reported at Kanyemba police station and the Docket was compiled and taken to Guruve magistrate court were prosecution was denied?”

He added that Kelly was arrested at night and transported to the police station in a boat also owned by Big Five through the prohibited Zambezi River’s Mapata gorge which Kanda admitted prohibited sailing.

The defence also said the witnesses were being sponsored by Big Five to come to court and also their stay in Harare.

He said his conduct is not consistent with someone stealing the camera as he alerted officials of the camera and took it to parks officials who refused to take it before taking it to the police.

Luke-ing the Beast in the Eye: When The Leopard Plays Midwife To The Goat ……

By Luke Batsirai Tamborinyoka| Leopards have been known to feast on goats. In fact, goat meat is a delicacy to the leopard tribe. But when a leopard starts playing midwife to a pregnant goat or even running the goats’ maternity ward, then there must surely be a catch somewhere.

It may mean the goat was no goat at all in the first instance. The truth may have finally come out that the goat has always been a leopard in a goat’s skin.

In fact, we hear the goat and the leopard are having secret talks behind the scenes, breaking bread together and clasping high fives in cosy, animated conversations.

We are not sure yet what offspring will be bred from their confirmed consensual mating that is happening well outside the public glare.and taking place without the consent and blessings of the parents, in this case the citizens.

Zanu PF has always tried to destroy every genuine opposition political party in Zimbabwe since the heady days of ZAPU, which they later ingloriously assimilated in 1987.

With the MDC they tried and failed dismally.

We saw them assimilating and decimating the MDC Alliance and lately the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) where both the captured institutions of Parliament and the Courts conspired with Zanu PF, in the latter case to donate the party to a charlatan called Sengezo Tshabangu.

Judging by what has been happening in the past few months, it is now clear that many in the democratic movement have been bribed and have fallen for trinkets and trappings.

Only a few of us can stand proud that our political hearts are not buyable;; are not purchasable because we turned down these trappings.

In the fullness of time, and with an arrogant smugness, some of us will be able to boldly stare history in the face for standing firm in the unstinting conviction that values are more enduring then temporary material benefit and convenience.

But if anyone was still living under the illusion that the CCC is still a credible brand and not a poisoned chalice , they need look no further than Jacob Mudenda’s spirited vitriol early this week against the CCC parliamentary component led by Jameson Zvidzai Timba.

It was very clear that in the tussle for control over the carcass called the CCC, Mudenda, and by extension Zanu PF, have a dog in the fight.

And their dog is not Timba but Tshabangu, who will most certainly receive the political party funding that is due to the CCC under the Political Parties Finance Act.

And Mudenda was basically speaking in the corner of Sengezo Tshabangu who “the system” is now officially recognising, as the genuine personification of the CCC, despite him being an extension of themselves.

Jacob Mudenda’s utterance that as Speaker of Parliament he will brook no instruction from anyone in the CCC but Tshabangu with regards to committee chairpersons and any other parliamentary business was a confirmation of the obvious.

It was simply a sonorous endorsement, yet tagain, of Sengezo, this celebrated political harlot of our time.

Dear reader, kindly note that officially there is no longer any credible opposition party in Zimbabwe.

Zanu PF is strenuously fighting in Tshabangu’s corner.

It is also naive for Timba and company to continue to believe that they can still sustain a brand called CCC outside of Zanu PF’s firm clutches of control

The CCC brand has simply become a poisoned chalice.

It has become a rotten, stinking carcass of what once was.

Why would Zanu PF speak so glowingly in support of a genuine opposition, as Mudenda did early this week while lauding Tshabangu as the main man?

Dear reader, don’t be fooled. Mudenda was not speaking as Speaker of Parliament, that was just a convenient cover-up. He was speaking as ZANU PF’s treasurer general, his Politburo position to which he was appointed in the deployments announced two weeks ago.

So that was a political statement from Zanu PF through Mudemda telling us who their man was.

Just why would the leopard defend and so meticulously prepare the maternity ward for a pregnant goat, without seeking to devour it right from the outset tin line with what we have traditionally known of their predator-prey relationship?

In fact, as I stated earlier, we are even hearing that there is consensual dialogue taking place between the leopard and the goat. Since when did leopards and goats start attending the same Holy Communion in the cosy manner that is now so palpable.

If theirs is genuine and sincere dialogue, why is it outside a known roadmap as the last one this country had that was facilitated by SADC in 2007/8?

Who is facilitating this one? Just where is the framework, where and from who was the mandate for such dialogue derived?

In fact, I would posit that by dialoguing with surrogates, , ZANU PF is basically speaking to itself. Purporting to dialogue with Tshabangu and his ilk is a crude form of masturbation., of Zanu PF doing it to and by itself.,

Yet we have seen other similarly pampered goats that were later devoured by the leopard and left no trace in the political grasslands.

Thokozani Khupe and one Douglas Togarasei Mwonzora were two such goats that were initially pampered by the leopard before the capricious fate of irrelevance visited them.

Sengezo Tshabangu may in the meantime enjoy his hour in the leopard’s maternity ward but it is only a matter of time before similar fate visits him.

As Brian Tamuka Kagoro says, while quoting Ugandan proverb, if you enter into a mutual agreement with a lion to be vegetarians, rest assured that the first vegetable the lion will east is yourself.

Cop Violently Bashes Subordinate

By A Correspondent | Hwange, Zimbabwe — In a shocking turn of events, Stanley Siampongo (48), the Officer in Charge at the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Kamativi station, appeared before the Hwange Magistrates’ Court on charges of assaulting a female subordinate.

The incident, which has stirred significant outrage within the community, reportedly occurred on February 21, 2024. According to court documents, the 44-year-old complainant was instructed to begin her duties in the charge office at 6:00 AM on February 22, 2024. However, she reported for duty two hours later at 8:00 AM.

Following this delay, the complainant, along with another colleague, was summoned to Siampongo’s office. During the meeting, when questioned about her tardiness, the complainant’s explanation did not satisfy Siampongo. It is alleged that Siampongo then assaulted her, striking her with his fists. The assault continued even as she attempted to flee, with Siampongo pursuing her to the administration block and continuing the attack.

The brutal assault prompted immediate action, leading to the filing of a police report and the subsequent arrest of Siampongo. The case has drawn widespread condemnation from both the public and human rights organizations, who have called for swift justice and strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident, but sources indicate that an internal investigation is underway.

This case highlights ongoing concerns about workplace violence and the treatment of subordinates within law enforcement agencies. The court proceedings are expected to shed more light on the events leading up to the assault and the actions of the Officer in Charge.

Man In Trouble Over Lobola…

By A Correspondent

In a dramatic turn of events in Nyawisa village, Lucky Chingwengwe, 19, was brought before the Karoi Magistrate Court on charges of stock theft.

The incident, which has left the community both shocked and bemused, highlights the lengths to which some individuals might go to fulfill traditional customs.

On the evening of April 12, 2024, the court heard, the complainant had penned his cattle at Dabvu homestead and returned home for the night.

Under the cover of darkness, Chingwengwe allegedly sneaked into the complainant’s kraal and untied a black cow with curved horns. His motive was clear: to use the stolen cow as lobola, a traditional bride price.

The plan unraveled when Ian Wamiridza, who had come into possession of the cow, was questioned.

Upon further probing, Wamiridza revealed that Chingwengwe had brought the beast to him, thus linking Chingwengwe directly to the theft.

In court, Chingwengwe faced the consequences of his actions. Found guilty of the crime, he was sentenced to nine years in jail.

The sentence underscores the serious nature of stock theft in rural communities, where livestock is a valuable and vital asset.

This case has stirred conversations about the pressures of cultural obligations and the extremes to which individuals may go to meet these demands.

While the tradition of paying lobola is deeply respected, the illegal means by which Chingwengwe attempted to fulfill this obligation has led to significant repercussions for him and serves as a cautionary tale for others in the community.

Warriors Coach Snubs Billiat

Khama Billiat’s return to the Warriors fold hit a brick wall because of the former Kaizer Chiefs’ reluctance to publicly announce that he would come out of retirement.

The 33-year-old Mufakose-bred winger, who returned to local football and joined ambitious Yadah following more than a decade of stardom in South Africa, quit international football in November 2021.

When he was unveiled by Yadah, Billiat hinted a return to the Warriors fold.

A source at ZIFA told Soccer24 that Billiat was considered when the Warriors squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers was being selected but the fact that he didn’t publicly announced that he would come out of retirement, made things complicated.

“Of course Khama Billiat was wanted in the Warriors squad. Everybody has seen how good he still is.

He is a player of so much quality. However, the fact that he didn’t publicly say he has come out of retirement made things difficult,” said the source.

“Also, remember that the coach (Jairos Tapera) was close to signing Billiat (at Manica Diamonds) before the he eventually settled for Yadah, so it’s obvious he know how good the player is.

“Those close to him tried to persuade him to even just post on social media that he is coming out of retirement, but he refused.

Imposter Evidence Overlooked as Mudenda Appoints Sengezo Tshabangu Leader of the Opposition

By Court Correspondent | In a controversial move, Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda, who is implicated in war crimes, has appointed Sengezo Tshabangu, the Matabeleland North Province Senator, as the new Leader of the Opposition in Parliament. This decision comes despite clear evidence from the Interparliamentary Union (IPU) identifying Tshabangu as an imposter.

The appointment was announced this afternoon by Advocate Jacob Mudenda in the National Assembly. With this new role, Senator Tshabangu will now be the primary liaison between the Government and the opposition, handling all engagements and interactions on various issues.

As the official Leader of the Opposition, Tshabangu’s responsibilities include constituting portfolio committees and appointing chairpersons for slots reserved for the opposition in international organizations such as the Pan African Parliament (PAP), SADC Parliamentary Forum, International Parliamentary Union (IPU), and African, Caribbean and Pacific-European Union (ACP-EU), among others.

Furthermore, Tshabangu has been appointed as a member of the Parliament Standing Rules and Orders Committee, the supreme decision-making body of the legislative assembly. This appointment grants him significant influence over parliamentary procedures and decisions.

The move has sparked widespread controversy and debate, given the allegations against Tshabangu and Mudenda’s contentious history. Critics argue that this appointment undermines the integrity of the parliamentary process and raises serious questions about the legitimacy of the opposition’s leadership.

Tom Jones Created Fake WhatsApp-Leak To Falsely Accuse Patricia Jack

Dear ZimEye

A Zimbabwean socialite based in South Africa, who calls himself“Tom Jones,” was implicated by Felistas Murata in fabricating chats that accuse Mnangagwa village woman, Patricia Jack of extortion and publishing nude pictures of Murata’s 19-year-old daughter, Felicia. It has been revealed that Tom Jones forwarded the explicit images to another person, proving his involvement in the concocted story.

Murata has been targeting Patricia Jack due to their ongoing social media disputes. Since 2019, Murata has been bullying Jack and has accused her of having an affair with her father. Recently, Murata dragged a 19-year-old boy, who was once Felicia’s boyfriend, to court, accusing him of publishing the nude pictures on social media. The boy, who was accompanied by his parents, denied all allegations.

After the boy’s denial, Murata shifted the blame to Patricia Jack, using Tom Jones to fabricate further evidence. This ongoing saga highlights the deep-seated animosity between Murata and Jack.

Who is Tom Jones?

Tom Jones’s case presents a convoluted narrative. The sequence of events leading to his current situation began when he was brought to the village of Shurungwi by his grandmother, who is also his mother-in-law. Jones met and fell in love with his wife while they were involved in church activities, leading to their marriage.

However, while in Shurungwi, Jones engaged in an extramarital affair, which led to the breakdown of his marriage. His wife subsequently joined the army, leaving Jones distressed. Following this, Jones initiated another relationship and eventually moved to the south, where he lived with his grandmother.

Jones is employed in Kya Sands as a phone mechanic. During an incident at work, he attempted to support a door that had been struck by a pipe from outside. Amidst the commotion, shots were fired, resulting in Jones losing his hand.

Jones has two children named Baba and Nyasha. The pipeline involved in the work incident is known as the Kya Sands pipeline.

In court, various rumors about Jones were addressed. Accusations regarding his sexuality were dismissed as irrelevant to the case. Additionally, it was clarified that Jones’s claims of owning a house in Gweru were false; the property in question actually belongs to his ex-wife’s family in Shurungwi, specifically in the Tongogara area, where Jones spent part of his youth.

The court also noted that Jones left the army in 2015, after the issuance of permits in 2010, indicating he might not have completed the necessary processes to obtain these documents. Since leaving the army, Jones has not returned home, further complicating his personal and legal circumstances.

This report summarizes the intricate details and findings presented during the court proceedings, offering a comprehensive overview of Tom Jones’s case.

SA Elections Hit by Technical Challenges

South Africa- The Electoral Commission of South Africa, or Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), has confirmed having technical challenges during the Wednesday vote.

Thousands of voters in South Africa had to cast their votes midnight after being affected by technical glitches and delays.

Snaking queues were witnessed around the country, particularly in the metros of Durban, Joburg and Cape Town
The IEC, during a press conference on Wednesday night, insisted that all voting take place and conclude, saying having an extra day for voting will present logistical and security challenges for millions of ballots.

The delays were attributed to the voter management devices (VMDs) which persistently glitched at several municipalities around the country as voters queued to cast their vote.
Around 2 PM on Wednesday, the IEC sent a circular to presiding officers and area managers, instructing them to ditch the VMDs and to utilise the manual ballot roll if the devices were hindering the voting process.
IEC chief electoral officer Sy Mamabolo said the devices were not a requirement in terms of the electoral act, but the manual system of the ballot roll was legislated.
IEC volunteers manning the elections said the VMDs – when they worked – were more efficient than the manual system.
Some voting stations were still packed with potential voters who braved the cold winter weather to cast their vote, well after 9 PM.
Meanwhile, early results from traditional ANC strongholds show Jacob Zuma’s MK party edging the ANC by more than five per cent with the IFP in third and the DA in fourth.
In the Western Cape, Gayton Mckenzie’s Patriotic Alliance was showing strong numbers and was eating into the DA’s support.
With 11.3% of the national vote having been counted so far, ANC has garnered 42.8% of the votes, DA has 25.6%, EFF has 8.3%, MK has 7.8, and PA has 4.9%.
By law, South Africa’s Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has seven days in which to announce full results.

Who Is Tafadzwa Chidawa Who Violently Raided Auxillia Mnangagwa’s Activist Patricia Jack

Midnight Raid on ZANU PF Activist Patricia Jack: The Controversial Actions of Tafadzwa Chidawa.

In a dramatic turn of events on a Tuesday night, Tafadzwa Chidawa, accompanied by the popular figure Mai TT and several others claiming to be police officers and CIDs, stormed a private B&B lodge in Harare. The group scaled the durawall of the establishment with the intent to arrest Patricia Jack. This bold and unlawful raid has cast a spotlight on Chidawa, revealing a complex and controversial figure involved in a web of vigilantism and contentious activities.

Tafadzwa Chidawa

#### Who is Tafadzwa Chidawa?

Tafadzwa Chidawa, also known as Detective Kedha or Boss Kedha, has a multifaceted background that spans law enforcement, politics, and vigilantism. While his exact date of birth is not publicly documented, court records from 2019 suggest he was born in 1987 or 1988.

#### Early Life & Education

Little is known about Chidawa’s early life and educational background, as such details are not available in the public domain. His journey into law enforcement and subsequent public activities, however, paint a vivid picture of his controversial life.

#### Police Career

Chidawa served in the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) until his retirement in 2019. His tenure was marked by several controversial incidents:

– **Malicious Damage to Property (2014):** Chidawa and another officer were charged with malicious damage to property, accused of smashing a commuter omnibus’s windscreen. They were remanded out of custody after paying bail.

– **Robbery Allegation (2019):** In May 2019, Chidawa, along with four other officers, was accused of robbing a money changer of US$11,000. This complex case involved the confiscation and subsequent disappearance of a portion of the seized cash, leading to their arrest.

– **Vehicle Theft Accusation (2023):** In September 2023, Chidawa was implicated in the theft of a vehicle from the ZIMRA car yard at the Chirundu border post. A police alert was issued for his arrest, adding to his tarnished record.

#### ZANU PF Political Career and 2023 Elections

In August 2023, Chidawa entered the political arena as a parliamentary candidate for the ZANU PF party in Harare. His bid was unsuccessful, securing only 3,992 votes against his opponent Shakespear Hamauswa of the Citizens Coalition for Change, who received 19,609 votes.

#### Anti-Crime Content Creation Activities

After retiring from the police force, Chidawa transitioned into a self-styled detective role, gaining notoriety through his Facebook live streams. His videos showcased him tracking and apprehending criminals, especially thieves and con artists, and exposing their methods.

– **Chadonha Incident:** A notable example of his vigilantism was the chadonha incident in Harare, where he captured two thieves attempting to deceive victims. Chidawa’s live coverage of the apprehension brought him significant attention and praise from some quarters, although it also raised concerns about his methods.

#### The Midnight Raid Incident

The raid on Patricia Jack’s lodgings on Monday night is the latest in a series of controversial actions by Chidawa. Accompanied by Mai TT and individuals impersonating law enforcement officers, Chidawa’s group breached the privacy and security of the B&B lodge, sparking outrage and legal scrutiny. This incident underscores the problematic nature of his vigilantism and the potential legal ramifications of such extrajudicial actions.

#### Controversies

Chidawa’s life and career have been fraught with controversies:

– **Legal Issues:** His numerous legal troubles, including charges of property damage and robbery, paint a picture of a former police officer with a troubled past.

– **Vigilantism:** His anti-crime efforts, while popular with some, raise significant ethical and legal questions. The recent raid exemplifies the dangerous precedent set by his self-appointed detective role.

– **Political Defeat:** His failure in the 2023 elections indicates a lack of broad support and possibly a mistrust among the electorate.

#### Conclusion

Tafadzwa ‘Boss Kedha’ Chidawa remains a deeply polarizing figure. His midnight raid on Patricia Jack, alongside his controversial history in law enforcement and politics, highlights the complexities and contradictions of his public persona. While some view him as a crusader against crime, others see him as a lawbreaker operating outside the bounds of legal and ethical conduct. This latest incident only adds to the ongoing debate about his role and impact in Harare.

Pasuwa Appointment Triggers Storm

The Football Association of Malawi has come underfire for appointing Kalisto Pasuwa as the head coach of the national U23 side.

Pasuwa, who is also the coach of defending champions Nyasa Big Bullets, was roped in this week to lead the team at the upcoming 2024 COSAFA Cup tournament in South Africa next month.

But FAM’s decision to appoint the Zimbabwean gaffer has been opposed by other sections in the country.

Rodgers Yasin, who preceded Pasuwa as the head coach of Bullets, told Malawian outlet, The Times, that the football association should have advertised the post and appoint a coach who is currently unattached to avoid disrupting the league.

He said, as cited by the publication: “I am not happy with the way his [Pasuwa’s] appointment has been made. We also have coaches in the country who have a Caf A coaching licence.

I would have loved it if they had been given a chance to apply for the job.”

Yasin denied that he had a personal vendetta against Pasuwa.

“I do not have any problem personally with Pasuwa but [I have a problem with] the procedure taken to hire him.”

Local football analyst Mathews Kimu Kamau also expressed discontent on the matter, saying:

“Much as I appreciate that Pasuwa is good but I am of the view that other local coaches should have been given a chance.

“My understanding is that Pasuwa should, after coaching Zimbabwe National Football Team and now four-time champions with Bullets, concentrate on qualifying for Caf group stages with his team after being knocked out in the preliminary round for the past four years.”

Former FAM executive member Julius Mithi echoed the same sentiments to the publication, saying the FA should have gone for a local coach.

He said: “It is unprofessional and uncalled for. I do not believe that this is happening. If the manifesto of the current president stated that now we would be having national coaches for under-17, 20 and 23 teams with different panels, I see no reason for them to appoint Pasuwa, who has his own club [Bullets].

“Currently, Bullets is not doing well and I do not think the board can accept his appointment.

We have so many local coaches who have not tasted the responsibility of coaching any national team but they are very good coaches. Let them appoint a local coach who has no club.”

Zanu PF Stalwarts Trash Affiliates for ED

By A Correspondent

In a bold move, Zanu PF hardliners have openly declared that the affiliates supporting Emmerson Mnangagwa, popularly known as “For ED…” are not legitimate party structures.

This statement comes in the wake of increasing reliance on these affiliates to strengthen the party’s campaign efforts for the 2023 elections.

Mnangagwa introduced the concept of affiliates to broaden the party’s base and enhance its outreach during the 2023 campaign.

These affiliates, groups aligned with Mnangagwa’s leadership and policies, were intended to galvanize support across different segments of society.

However, this approach has not sat well with some of the party’s traditionalists.

A Zanu PF insider, speaking on Wednesday, expressed concerns about the legitimacy and function of these affiliates within the party framework.

“Sure musangano unoda kugadzirwa, we must have proper Zanu PF structures kwete kurega ma Affiliates achiita kunge ndiwo ava party structures,” the source said.

This translates to, “Indeed, the party needs to be structured properly; we must have proper Zanu PF structures and not allow affiliates to appear as if they are the actual party structures.”

The criticism highlights a growing tension within Zanu PF between those who support traditional party structures and those who favor the inclusion of newer, less conventional supporters.

Hardliners argue that the core of the party should not be diluted by these affiliates, which they see as undermining the established hierarchy and operational integrity of Zanu PF.

While affiliates have played a crucial role in boosting campaign efforts and bringing in fresh support, their existence has sparked a debate on whether their influence is beneficial or detrimental to the party’s core values and structure.

The insistence on maintaining “proper Zanu PF structures” underscores a desire among some members to preserve the party’s identity and coherence, which they feel may be threatened by the influx of these new groups.

As the 2023 elections approach, this internal conflict over the role and recognition of affiliates could shape the dynamics within Zanu PF.

Whether the party will manage to reconcile these differences or if the rift will widen remains to be seen.

However, the hardliners’ message is clear: the foundational structures of Zanu PF must remain intact and unchallenged by any external or non-traditional elements.

WestProp Boss Champions Collaboration For Zimbabwe’s Economic Revival

By Business Reporter- Zimbabweans have the potential to overcome economic challenges, including inflation, currency instability, and limited access to foreign currency, through concerted collaborative efforts, a top local business executive has said.

Speaking recently in Gweru at the Zimbabwe Chamber of Commerce, Midlands chapter, WestProp Holdings CEO Mr Ken Sharpe said the economy could swiftly rebound if all stakeholders collaborate.

“My call to action to you is: Let us all commit to working together to build a more prosperous Zimbabwe. Let us embrace collaboration as a key driver of our economic success. For once, let us put aside our differences because a thriving economy benefits us all,” he said, “It is no secret that we have faced economic challenges in recent years, including high inflation, currency instability, and limited access to foreign capital. These challenges have hampered business growth and job creation. However, I am firmly convinced that we can overcome these obstacles and build a brighter future. But I cannot do it alone, and you cannot do it alone. Collaboration is essential for our success.”

Mr Sharpe challenged Zimbabweans to align their mindsets towards working together, realising that their success lies in their hands and that no one else is coming to save them.

“We are our own saviors; however, to save ourselves, we need to start working together and collaborate,” he stated.

To successfully build a thriving economy, Mr. Sharpe advocated for creating a supportive and enabling environment for businesses through public-private partnerships (PPP).

He cited the PPP that WestProp Holdings has with the City of Harare as a prime example. “We have our own public-private partnership with the City of Harare for the development of The Hills Lifestyle Estate – a US$ 300 million project that will bring a world-class, USGA spec golf course to our country as well as luxurious branded residences – a first in Zimbabwe. We recently broke ground,” he said.

Mr. Sharpe further highlighted the potential of the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) as another successful collaborative venture.

“The VFEX is a regional stock exchange that allows companies from Zimbabwe and other African countries to raise capital and nurture mutually-beneficial business relationships. This collaboration between Zimbabwe and other countries has the potential to boost investment and economic growth across the region,” he noted.

He concluded by saying that collaboration can also be achieved through bilateral and multilateral relations between countries and international organisations.

By fostering partnerships and working together, Mr. Sharpe believes Zimbabwe can create a thriving economy and a brighter future for all its citizens.

Give Your Husband Condoms For Small House, So He Sticks To You, Anna Says | TRUTH or UTTER NONSENSE?

“…Sometimes you women complain saying I am tired, I am this; allow the girlfriend to do the job..”

Analysis: The Controversial Advice of Anna Chibaby Honde on Marriage and Infidelity

“I want to address people who want to leave their marriage, saying my man is cheating, my man is doing this. Where would you find a man who put aside to cheat? There is no man who doesn’t cheat.

“For a relationship to be successful, you need to be a communion of many. Sometimes you women complain saying I am tired, I am this, allow the girlfriend to do the job. If you can’t do the job, stop complaining. And stop this thing of giving up in your marriages, don’t give up.

“Next time, give the man condoms and then he goes and does whatever he does and he comes back to you. The fact that he took you and put you into the house and made you the official wife, be grateful, you are official! If there is a funeral, you are there; if there is a wedding, he is with you. I am tired!”

Anna Chibaby Honde, a social media personality, recently made waves with these contentious remarks about marriage and infidelity. Her statements have sparked a heated debate, revealing deep-seated issues about relationship dynamics, gender roles, and societal expectations. This analysis delves into the pros and cons of her advice.

Pros of Honde’s Advice

  1. Realistic Acknowledgement of Infidelity:
Honde’s advice confronts the often-taboo topic of infidelity head-on. By acknowledging that cheating can happen in marriages, she opens up a dialogue that many couples may need to have but often avoid. This could potentially lead to more honest and transparent relationships where partners are more aware of each other’s behaviors and expectations.
  2. Encouragement of Marital Perseverance:
Honde emphasizes the importance of not giving up on marriage easily. In a time when divorce rates are high, her message could be seen as a call to work through difficulties rather than opting for separation at the first sign of trouble. This perspective might encourage couples to seek counseling and find solutions to their issues.
  3. Pragmatic Solutions:
Suggesting that wives should sometimes allow the “girlfriend” to take over if they are unable to fulfill certain roles might seem controversial, but it also underscores the need for practical solutions to marital problems. By suggesting the use of condoms, Honde implicitly promotes safer sexual practices, which is crucial in preventing sexually transmitted infections.

Cons of Honde’s Advice

  1. Normalization of Infidelity:
Honde’s advice risks normalizing infidelity by suggesting that cheating is an inevitable part of marriage. This can undermine trust and fidelity, which are foundational to any healthy relationship. It also perpetuates the stereotype that men are inherently unfaithful, which is not only unfair but also untrue for many men.
  2. Gender Inequality:
Her advice heavily leans on traditional gender roles where the wife is expected to tolerate her husband’s infidelities. This perpetuates a power imbalance and could contribute to the emotional and psychological distress of women. It suggests that women’s feelings and desires are secondary to men’s, reinforcing patriarchal norms.
  3. Undermining the Value of Official Status:
While Honde highlights the importance of being the “official wife,” this status might come at the cost of self-respect and personal boundaries. Encouraging women to be grateful simply for being chosen as the official partner can be demeaning and may prevent them from seeking more equitable and respectful relationships.

Anna Chibaby Honde’s advice has sparked a necessary debate on the realities of modern marriages and infidelity. While her perspectives might encourage some to persevere through marital challenges, they also risk perpetuating harmful stereotypes and gender inequalities. The key takeaway is that every relationship is unique, and couples should strive for mutual respect, communication, and fidelity according to their own values and agreements. Balancing realism with respect for both partners’ needs is essential for healthy and fulfilling marriages.

Man Steals Cow to Pay Lobola

FULL LETTER: ZEC Money Has Driven Wicknell Chivhayo Crazy

RE: Demand for Payment and Resolution of Contractual Dispute

We are writing in regard to an agreement entered into between Better Brands Security (Pvt) Ltd and yourselves on the 13th of February 2023. Our agreement was to partner with you to participate in tenders in Zimbabwe for election materials.

We have attached the contract for your reference. This was done after a meeting between Moses Mpofu, Wicknell Chivayo, and the ZEC chairperson, Honorable Chigumba held at your premises in Johannesburg on the 2nd of February 2023; we will attach the photos taken on the particular meeting day.

After we signed the contract under Better Brands, you conspired with one of our partners in the project, Mr. Wicknell Chivayo, and unilaterally changed the contract to his company, Intratek. Our agreement stated that you would pay our agreed commission into the FNB account for Better Brands.
However, for reasons known to you, you decided to cancel our agreement without the consent of both parties. The cancellation of that agreement was fraudulently done. We have attempted to engage with you on several times, but you have chosen to continue making payments to Mr. Wicknell Chivayo.

In this letter, we are writing to you in confidence to find a settlement. We will attach some of the proof of payments from the Zimbabwe Government Treasury department. We have the invoice you have charged ZEC and are aware of the profits being made. For example, we are in possession of the initial quotation dated the 20th of February 2023, valued at US$2,673,360.00 with quotation no. Q20022023_211.

Additionally, we have the subsequent quotation that you sent to ZEC, with the value inflated to US$8,964,603.80, which is approximately a 235% increment. We are aware that as soon as funds are received into your Standard Bank account number 002742659 held at Southdale Branch, you immediately transfer more than 66% of the money received to Wicknell Chivayo’s Intratek bank accounts.

This is clear evidence of your participation in money laundering, where you are overcharging the Government of Zimbabwe and sending the overcharged money to individual accounts. This is in violation of South African laws and international laws.

Please be advised that most of the individuals involved in this money laundering are on the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions list. Therefore, you are assisting sanctioned individuals to hide money, which is a very serious offense. If this comes to light with the Department of the US Treasury, you will be in serious trouble. The Reserve Bank of South Africa will sanction you if they become aware of your illicit activities.

Of interest, please note that Mr. Wicknell Chivayo is misleading you by claiming that he is giving top government officials of Zimbabwe part of the payment he is receiving. That is a total lie; even the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe is unaware that he is getting huge commissions using his name. This money has driven him crazy and that’s why, if you check his social media, he is on a buying spree of cars, donating to different individuals across the country, yet he is failing to pay us what we agreed. We expect 25% of all the monies paid out to Wicknell Chivayo. Our suggestion is for you to hold all incoming payments and not pay Wicknell Chivayo until you put us all on a round table to resolve this matter. There is no need to cover up for one greedy individual and risk getting your company in trouble with the authorities because you are trying to protect one person. Please reflect if this is worth the risk to your business, which we all know you operate legitimately. We urge you to consider the repercussions of your actions carefully.

Your continued involvement in these fraudulent activities will not only damage your reputation but also put your company at significant risk of legal repercussions. We are giving you 7 days to provide us with a workable solution so that we can recover the money owed to us.

Failure to comply will force us to take necessary steps to bring this matter to the attention of all relevant authorities, including all news outlets. We could have gone through our lawyers and sought relief from the court, but we prefer not to air our dirty laundry in public.

We hope to resolve this amicably.

Yours Faithfully,

Moses Mpofu. Mike Chimombe

Parly Closes Doors On Chamisa

By Political Reporter- Parliament speaker Jacob Mudenda has revoked the appointment of a faction of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Jameson Timba to the House of Assembly portfolio point persons positions.

Timba, the pro-Nelson Chamisa CCC faction’s Chief Administrator, wrote to Mudenda this week naming Chipinge South MP Clifford Hlatwayo as CCC’s leader of the house with Nomathemba Ndlovu, the proportional representation MP for Matabeleland South, as the Chief Whip.

On Tuesday, Mudenda told MPs he made a mistake by acting on Timba’s letter. He then invited a rival faction led by Welshman Ncube and Sengezo Tshabangu to submit its list of leaders in parliament. He said:

On Thursday, February 15, 2024, I made an announcement in the House on the appointment of several members of the CCC party to various portfolios in parliament.

The announcement was based on a letter authored by one Mr Jameson Timba, purporting to be the interim leader of the CCC party.

On reflection, I should not have acted upon that letter as facts now thereof before me show that Jameson Timba had no locus standi to represent a party in such a manner as I will outline below.

Jameson Timba was recalled from the Senate by the CCC party on November 7, 2023, the party which he purported to represent as the acting leader and administrator.

Jameson Timba challenged the recall in the High Court under case number HCH 6684/23 with other former members of the CCC party and lost the court case.

He was also among the former members of the CCC party whom the High Court barred on December 9, 2023, from contesting the February 3, 2024, by-elections under the CCC party following Sengezo Tshabangu’s application to block them from participating in the polls under the CCC banner.

Considering that Jameson Timba had been recalled by the same CCC party he was purporting to represent and that he was also banned by the courts from contesting under the banner of the same CCC party, his communication to parliament and the appointments made thereafter, are therefore null and void.

Accordingly, I am rescinding the announcement on February 15, 2024, and referring the matter back to the CCC party to make the appropriate appointments.

The other CCC MPs who were assigned to various committees were Hamauswa Shakespear (Deputy Chief Whip);Chalton Hwende (Public Accounts); Joanah Mamombe (Environment & Climate); Lesley Mhangwa (Energy & Power Development); Daniel Molokele (Health and Child Care); Caston Matewu (Information); Minenhle Gumede (Higher Education) and Surrender Kapoikulu (ICT).

Timba reportedly leads a CCC faction loyal to the party’s former leader, Nelson Chamisa who quit the party in January claiming infiltration.

The other faction, which is recognised by the State, was formerly led by Tshabangu, who has recognised Welshman Ncube as the new CCC leader.

Ncube will likely secure government recognition as the Leader of the Opposition, an official title that would come with perks, and also receive CCC’s share of funds from the State under the Political Parties (Finance) Act.

Social Media Goes Gaga As Company Offices Are Converted To A Lodge

By A Correspondent| Social media has gone into an overdrive amid reports that Gold Star offices in Workington, Harare have been converted into a lodge.

Zimbabweans are saying this confirms that the once vibrant economy has been reduced to the ground with most corporates cutting on costs including workers.

“The head office for Zimbabwe Sugar Refinery in Workington heavy industrial area is now a lodge, which shows that lodges are now more profitable than manufacturing in Zimbabwe. It’s now called Orange Star lodge,” reads a post on social media.

Already there is an ongoing debate and banter on social media where people claim that the only viable industries in the country at the moment is opening a church or running a bottle store.

Some even argue that the most profitable businesses in the country at the moment are Delta and Econet meaning that people only spend time on social media and bottle stores.

Now lodges have also emerged at a good business due to the noise around ‘mjolo’.

Warrant of Arrest for “Crippled” ZANU PF Youth Leader Caught On Camera Dancing In SA Without Crutches After Duping Masvingo Magistrate

ZANU PF Youth Leader Delight Mandebvu Allegedly Dupes Court with Fake Injury, Faces Arrest Warrant

Masvingo, Zimbabwe | By A Correspondent | ZimEye |   In a shocking turn of events, ZANU PF Masvingo youth chairperson Delight Mandebvu, known for his dramatic flair, is now facing an arrest warrant after allegedly duping the court with false injury claims. Mandebvu, who is charged with three counts of assault, failed to appear in court today, prompting Magistrate Elizabeth Hanzi to issue the warrant.

Mandebvu’s charges arise from an incident on March 3, 2024, where he allegedly assaulted prominent Masvingo lawyer and former mayor Collen Maboke, his wife Tariro, and a relative Simbarashe Matyei after their vehicles sideswiped along the Masvingo-Bikita road. The accused appeared in court two weeks ago, dramatically limping with crutches and sporting a plaster on his left leg, claiming Maboke had run him over.

Despite his theatrical court appearance, video footage has emerged showing Mandebvu dancing energetically and participating in election activities in South Africa. The footage, which surfaced online last week, depicts Mandebvu clad in ANC regalia, dancing and toyi-toying with vigor, casting doubt on his alleged injuries.

Prosecutor Godknows Mugondo, citing Mandebvu’s failure to show up or communicate with the court, applied for the arrest warrant. The court’s patience ran out as Mandebvu’s antics became increasingly questionable.

In a letter dated May 27, 2024, Mandebvu’s lawyers, Machaya and Associates, informed the prosecutor that their client was in South Africa on national duty, as part of a ZANU PF youth contingent supporting the African National Congress (ANC) in their national elections. The letter requested a postponement of the trial to June, asserting Mandebvu would return on May 30, 2024.

“Please note that our client indeed advised us of the date, however we are requesting a postponement of the matter to any date in June. This has been caused by the fact that our client is out on national duty in South Africa where he is part of the ZANU PF youth league observer team. He will be back on 30 May 2024…We are proposing the 10th of June 2024 as the trial date,” reads part of the letter.

Mandebvu’s initial court appearance two weeks ago was marked by his claims of being unable to walk and needing time to find a lawyer outside the province, alleging local lawyers were shunning him. Last Tuesday, he returned to court, pleading for another week to secure legal representation.

However, the recent footage of him energetically participating in election rallies in South Africa starkly contrasts his court demeanor, leading to questions about the authenticity of his injury claims. The court, now skeptical of Mandebvu’s dramatics, has issued the warrant to ensure he stands trial.

This latest development adds a dramatic twist to the legal proceedings, with Mandebvu’s theatrics under the spotlight as the case continues to unfold amidst South Africa’s high-stakes election season.

Chief Hwenje Launches New Album

By A Correspondent

Chief Shumba Hwenje, a musician closely associated with Zimbabwe’s ruling Zanu PF party and reportedly a relative of President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is set to release a new album this Friday. Known for his songs that often echo the sentiments and ideologies of Zanu PF, Hwenje’s latest work is anticipated to continue in this vein.

Zanu PF announced the upcoming album launch through an official statement on Tuesday, highlighting the event scheduled for May 31.

“31 May Chief Shumba Hwenje Album Launch I Don’t Care,” the statement read, reflecting the title of the new album and signaling the party’s endorsement of Hwenje’s musical endeavors.

Chief Shumba Hwenje has built a reputation for his music, which frequently features lyrics laden with propaganda supporting Zanu PF and, at times, delivering intimidating messages.

His previous works have been a staple at party rallies and events, solidifying his role as a vocal supporter of the current political establishment.

The upcoming album is expected to attract considerable attention, both from supporters of Zanu PF and critics who question the implications of his politically charged lyrics.

As the launch date approaches, discussions about the intersection of music and politics in Zimbabwe are likely to intensify, with Chief Shumba Hwenje’s latest project at the center of the debate.

Zanu PF Says Chamisa Is A Clown

By A Correspondent

In a decisive statement on Tuesday, Zanu PF Information Director Farai Marapira declared that the 2023 polls “have come and gone.”

“Elections have come and gone. Issue of elections is a foregone conclusion,” Marapira stated, emphasizing that the ruling party views the election process as complete and closed.

Marapira’s comments come amid ongoing debates and tensions surrounding the electoral process and its outcomes.

His assertion that the focus should now shift away from electoral issues to more pressing national concerns was clear.

“We are seized with nation-building matters,” he added, underscoring the party’s intention to prioritize developmental agendas over lingering electoral disputes.

In his address, Marapira did not shy away from criticizing the opposition.

He took a sharp jab at Advocate Nelson Chamisa, the leader of the main opposition party, describing him as a “political clown.”

This comment reflects the deep-seated animosity and rivalry between Zanu PF and the opposition, particularly in the aftermath of the elections.

As Zanu PF seeks to move forward, Marapira’s remarks highlight the party’s resolve to concentrate on governance and development, dismissing any further contention over the electoral process.

However, the opposition’s reaction to these statements and the potential implications for Zimbabwe’s political landscape remain to be seen.

Chinese Miner Guns Down Workers

By Crime and Courts Reporter- A Chinese miner has shot and killed a man from Chief Njelele in Gokwe and injured his colleague after they encroached into his mine in Zhombe, also in Midlands Province.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) says Cai Yulong (58) from Stone Still Mine 10, Marandure Farm, Zhombe, appeared before the Kwekwe Magistrates’ court facing one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and one count of assault. Said the NPA:

On the 26th of May 2024 Goni Goni (23), Komborerai Shariwa (24), John Muchawaya (34) and Lovemore Mapfanya (20) all of Village Tirivanhu, Chief Njelele, Gokwe were working underground at Blackhand 10 Mine, Zhombe, Kwekwe.

The four encroached into another shaft at Blue Belle Mine, Zhombe which is owned by the accused person.

Allegations are that the accused person who was armed with a pistol approached them and shot Goni Goni once in the left thigh. He died on the spot.

He is also alleged to have shot John Muchawaya thrice: once on the left knee, once on the right ankle and once on the left thigh.

Muchawaya sustained three gunshot wounds and he is currently admitted at Kwekwe General Hospital.

Further allegations are that the accused person hit Lovemore Mapfanya once on the head with a fist.

Mapfanya fled from the scene and filed a Police report leading to the arrest of the accused person.

Cai was remanded in custody and will appear in court again on 11 June 2024.

Mnangagwa Tricks Epworth Residents

By Political Reporter- Zanu PF President Emerson Mnangagwa has yet to deliver on his promise of title deeds to the residents of Epworth, a pledge he made during the run-up to the 2023 national elections.

A month before the elections, Mnangagwa assured Epworth residents that 11,000 title deeds would be issued.

The Cabinet endorsed the Kwangu/Ngakwami Presidential Title Deeds Programme to provide the necessary financial and technical support.

Mnangagwa even distributed 265 securitized title deeds at the program’s launch at Epworth High School, promising more to come.

However, only a few ZANU PF activists were selected to receive these title deeds, leading to allegations that the government has “forgotten” about the project. According to a source: “Only a few were issued, those with close ties to ZANU PF. Land barons led by John Mabwe (coordinator and spokesperson for Kushinga Epworth Residents Trust) and Moyo are holding Epworth Local Board at ransom contesting the authenticity of the layout plans and general plans of Epworth… the surveyor general up to now is sleeping on duty.”

Mabwe highlighted discrepancies with the layout plan, noting it did not match a map from 2001 when squatters received occupiers’ cards. He stated: “The layout plan that was used does not match the map. We have simply challenged this. A lot of elderly widows and orphans were left out of the 2022 layout plan which was not even approved by the Surveyor-General. We want title deeds as early as yesterday but we want the right procedure to be followed and the right people to benefit.”

Further complicating the issue, Mabwe pointed out irregularities in Ward 6 (Overspill Extension): “The council pegged stands using a fake layout plan of Plan number H.O.F 8 and increased them from 3,856 to 3,904 to benefit some council officials. So the regularisation process is very scandalous. Council is doing what the High Court interdicted. That’s contempt of court.”

Epworth Town Secretary Wilton Mhanda declined to comment on the matter when approached by NewsDay.

Epworth North legislator Zivai Mhetu clarified that residents had received deeds of grant, not title deeds. He explained: “There is a difference between a deed of grant and a title deed. Development has to take place first, for instance, the installation of roads, among others. When this happens, Epworth residents will be able to receive title deeds in both paper and digital form. Hence, I will be lobbying Parliament for the construction of roads in Epworth.”

A title deed is a legal document that provides proof of ownership over property, real estate, and sometimes vehicles, establishing ownership rights and serving as evidence of ownership. In contrast, a grant deed indicates the transfer of property or real estate from one party to another but does not necessarily provide proof of ownership.

Zanu PF Angrily Responds To Advocate Chamisa Statement : Full Text

Source :Operation Restore Legacy

I strongly feel that statement by Nelson Chamisa is in response to the media reports that President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa and the Welshman-led CCC are having dialogue in the background.

Chamisa has always wanted to be part of the dialogue from day one.

But now he cant be part to it since he resigned from the CCC, the party that sponsored his candidature in the August 2023 elections and that can only be done by those actually or purporting to be leading the CCC.

He knows that he lost the plot and cant stomach it that whatever is going to agreed on will be done without him being involved.

He realised it very late that he misfired by prematurely resigning from the CCC being the reason why his people like Timba are still claiming to the leaders of CCC
Infact some insiders say that there were proposals to reinstate Chamisa as the CCC leader so that he has locus standi to demand involvement in the said engagements going on in the background.

Therefore this statement seems to be an attempt to take himself in through the backdoor given that he was the CCC Presidential candidate.

ED Pfee Musician Launches Another Album

Govt Raises Minimum Age for Kombis, Buses to 30

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye |In a significant move to combat the rising number of traffic accidents and fatalities, the Government has announced plans to raise the minimum age for bus and kombi drivers to 30. This new regulation is aimed at ensuring that only mature and experienced drivers are operating public service vehicles.

The decision comes in response to alarming statistics showing over 2,000 road traffic accident-related deaths annually, with reckless driving being the primary culprit. By increasing the age limit, the Government hopes to enhance road safety by placing more experienced drivers behind the wheel.

During a Question and Answer session in the Senate last Thursday, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development, Felix Mhona, revealed that the Ministry is actively working on synchronizing the age limit for public service vehicle drivers.

“I am sure the legal department in my Ministry is working with the Attorney General in that regard and we are saying for public vehicles, we were sticking to 25 years and we are now advocating to increase,” said Mhona.

The proposed change marks a shift from the current minimum age of 25, reflecting a strategic approach to addressing the root causes of traffic incidents. The Government’s initiative underscores its commitment to improving road safety and reducing the human and economic toll of traffic accidents.

Further details on the implementation timeline and any transitional provisions for current drivers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Elections Have Come and Gone, Zanu PF Spokesperson Declares

Five (5) Chinese Arrested, Jailed

By Crime and Courts Reporter – Police have arrested five Chinese nationals for the unlawful cremation of a body without consent from the deceased’s relatives.

The five individuals have been convicted and fined US$200 each by a Harare magistrate, Ruth Moyo.

Chen Ying, 44, Xia Wexing, 40, Guo Weilin, 32, Yan Qi, 36, and Wang Huasheng, 35, were convicted based on their own guilty pleas after admitting to cremating the body of Huang Tian Song.

Huang died on May 22 this year at the Trauma Centre in Harare.

In passing the sentence, Magistrate Moyo noted that the five “did not waste the court’s time and were quick to plead.”
Prosecutor Nomsa Kangara detailed the events, stating that on May 22, Huang Tian Song, a Chinese national, died at the Trauma Centre in Borrowdale, Harare.

The five accused, acting in common purpose, took the body to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for a post-mortem.

They then visited the Registrar General’s Office to acquire a burial order on May 22, 2024. Kangara explained:
“After obtaining the burial order, the accused connived and produced a false document in the form of an affidavit in Ying’s name, purporting to have been granted permission by the deceased’s relatives, and caused the body of the deceased to be cremated by Monson Funeral Parlour.”

The court ordered the five to pay the fine by June 7 or face three months of imprisonment.

Fadzayi Mahere Breaks Down Mudenda’s Removal Of CCC Parly Leaders

Fadzayi Mahere Questions Speaker Jacob Mudenda’s Authority Over Portfolio Committee Appointments

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | In a bold statement, prominent Zimbabwean lawyer and politician Fadzayi Mahere has publicly questioned the legal authority of Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda regarding his recent actions to reverse appointments of chairs of parliamentary portfolio committees. Mahere’s pointed critique comes in response to Mudenda’s controversial decision, which she argues is both legally and constitutionally unsound.

Mahere began by challenging the legal foundation of Mudenda’s actions, stating, “In terms of what law does the Speaker of Parliament have the power to reverse appointments made by a political party regarding chairs of portfolio committees, especially when he has announced the appointments and the chairs have begun their work?”

Her statement reflects growing concerns about the Speaker’s unilateral decisions affecting the structure and function of parliamentary committees, which are vital for legislative oversight and governance.

Furthermore, Mahere highlighted what she perceives as inconsistency in Mudenda’s application of his powers. “When a charlatan purported to recall MPs, the Honourable Speaker acted on the letter claiming to have no power to inquire into the authenticity or legality of the fraudulent letter. Where does he suddenly get this power now? Does the ‘power’ depend on whether or not he likes the person making the appointments? What law is that?”

This reference to past events underscores the controversy surrounding the recall of MPs, where Mudenda’s actions were criticized for lacking due diligence. Mahere suggests a troubling double standard in the Speaker’s application of authority, raising questions about impartiality and legality.

In her critique, Mahere also addressed the constitutional implications of Mudenda’s actions. “Which provision of the Constitution, Standing Orders or any statute empowers the Speaker to declare a political party’s internal officers ‘null and void’? Given that only a court of law can declare invalidity, is it not this very announcement that is null and void?”

By questioning the constitutional and statutory basis for Mudenda’s decision, Mahere underscores the potential overreach of parliamentary authority into matters traditionally reserved for judicial review.

Mahere concluded with a poignant reflection on the state of Zimbabwe’s legislative integrity: “When the House that is meant to make law, breaks law, what hope is there for the rule of law, constitutionalism, and sound legal order? Why reduce the august House to a farcical den of contradiction and illegality?”

Her statement is a call to uphold the principles of legality and constitutionalism, warning against the erosion of the rule of law within the highest legislative body of the country.

As this controversy unfolds, it remains to be seen how Mudenda and other parliamentary leaders will respond to these serious allegations. The situation continues to spark debate over the limits of parliamentary authority and the need for adherence to legal and constitutional norms in Zimbabwe’s governance.

Mudenda, Tshabangu Deliver Body Blow To CCC Legislators

By A Correspondent| Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda has dismissed Citizens Coalition for Change parliamentary leadership as communicated by Jameson Timba in February this year.

Mudenda yesterday shocked the country when he dissolved all parliamentary committee chairpersons, Chief Whips and leader of the opposition positions as announced by Timba leaving the ball in self proclaimed Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu to appoint his people to those key positions.

“On Thursday 15th February, 2024, I made an announcement in the House on the appointment of several Members of the CCC Party to various portfolios in Parliament. The announcement was based on a letter authored by one Mr. Jameson Timba, purporting to be the interim leader of the CCC Party.

“On reflection, I should not have acted upon that letter as facts now thereof before me show that Jameson Timba had no locus standi to represent a party in such a manner,” said Mudenda.

Commenting on the issue, former Mt Pleasant legislator Fadzayi Mahere questioned Mudenda’s power to reverse appointments made by a political party in parliament.

“In terms of what law does the Speaker of Parliament have the power to reverse appointments made by a political party regarding chairs of portfolio committees, especially when he has announced the appointments and the chairs have begun their work?,” said Mahere.

“Which provision of the Constitution, Standing Orders or any statute empowers the Speaker to declare a political party’s internal officers “null and void”? Given that only a court of law can declare invalidity, is it not this very announcement that is null and void?,” added Mahere.

On 15 February 2024, Timba announced the appointment of Hon Clifford Hlatywayo as Leader of the opposition in parliament, Hon Sessel Zvidzai Senate Chief Whip, Lower House Chief Whip & Overall Whip – Hon Nomathemba Ndlovu and Deputy Chief Whip – Hon Doc Shakespeare Hamauswa among other appointments.

Now Tshabangu has to announce a new leadership made up of his loyalists.

Judicial Interference Delays Neville Mutsvangwa Case

Harare, Zimbabwe— By Court Correspondent | ZimEye | The legal proceedings against Neville Mutsvangwa have encountered a significant delay following the recusal of Justice Esther Muremba. Mutsvangwa, who faces charges of illegal foreign currency dealings and possession of an unlicensed Starlink router, remains in jail as the court registrar works to re-assign his case to a new judge.

Going to prison…Neville Mutsvangwa

#### Background and Charges

Neville Mutsvangwa, a prominent figure, is charged with three counts of illegal foreign currency dealings and one count of possessing an unlicensed Starlink router. These charges carry serious legal implications, reflecting the government’s intensified scrutiny on financial crimes and unlicensed telecommunications equipment.

#### Judicial Recusal

Justice Esther Muremba’s recusal from the case has raised concerns about potential judicial interference. According to sources, Justice Muremba cited personal reasons for her decision to step down after reportedly feeling pressured following a summons to the State House. This development has sparked a debate over the independence of the judiciary and the potential influence of external factors on judicial decisions.

#### Legal Representative’s Statement

Speaking to the press, Mutsvangwa’s lawyer, Ms. Josephine Sande, provided an update on the situation. “The matter is now with the registrar of the court for re-allocation to another judge,” Ms. Sande explained. “We are now waiting for notice of hearing. However, we are not sure whether the new judge to the case will hear fresh submissions or proceed with the ruling. It is not clear yet.”

Ms. Sande’s comments highlight the uncertainty surrounding the next steps in the case. The legal community is watching closely to see how the judiciary will handle the reassignment and ensure a fair and transparent process.

#### Concerns Over Judicial Independence

The recusal of Justice Muremba under such circumstances has brought to the forefront the issue of judicial independence. Legal experts emphasize that the autonomy of the judiciary is critical for maintaining public trust in the legal system. External pressures, especially those from political entities, can undermine the impartiality of judicial decisions.

One legal analyst noted, “Judicial independence is the bedrock of a fair legal system. When judges are pressured or perceived to be influenced by external factors, it erodes the integrity of the judiciary and diminishes public confidence.”

#### Implications of Delays

The delay in reassigning a new judge to Mutsvangwa’s case prolongs the legal process, impacting not only the defendant but also the broader justice system. Prolonged detention without a clear path forward exacerbates the stress and uncertainty faced by the defendant and his legal team. Additionally, such delays can lead to questions about the efficiency and effectiveness of the judicial process.

#### Public Reaction

The public reaction to the developments in Mutsvangwa’s case has been mixed. Some express concerns about the potential for political interference in the judiciary, while others emphasize the need for a thorough and impartial legal process.

A local resident commented, “It’s important that the judiciary remains independent. Any sign of interference can have serious implications for justice in our country.”

#### Looking Ahead

As the registrar works to assign a new judge to the case, all eyes are on the judicial system’s ability to navigate these challenges and uphold the principles of impartiality and fairness. The resolution of this case will serve as a crucial test of the judiciary’s resilience against external pressures.

In the coming days, the court’s actions will be scrutinized for transparency and adherence to legal standards. The outcome will not only impact Neville Mutsvangwa but also set a precedent for the handling of high-profile cases in Zimbabwe’s legal system.

This report seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the current status of Neville Mutsvangwa’s case, emphasizing the broader implications of judicial interference and the critical importance of maintaining judicial independence.

Prison Official Charged with Theft of Trust Property

Masvingo, Zimbabwe | By A Correspondent | — Shadreck Jongwe Mujati, a 43-year-old employee of the Zimbabwe Prison Correctional Service (ZPCS) Headquarters in Masvingo, has been remanded in custody following his appearance before the Masvingo Magistrates’ Court on charges of theft of trust property.

The court heard that on May 3, 2024, Proud Gengezha, also affiliated with the ZPCS, received diesel coupons from Petro Trade valued at 13,390 litres. These coupons were handed over to Mujati for safekeeping three days later, on May 6, along with additional petrol coupons worth 1,000 litres. Mujati allegedly secured the coupons in a locker, keeping the keys on his person.

However, the following day, Mujati reported to Gengezha that the petrol coupons worth 1,000 litres were missing. Investigations revealed no signs of forced entry, and Mujati was still in possession of the locker keys, raising suspicions about his involvement. The total value of the stolen coupons is estimated at USD 1,500, and none of the coupons have been recovered.

As the case unfolds, Mujati remains in custody, with the next court date set for June 24. This incident has sparked concerns about security and trust within the ZPCS, highlighting the need for stricter oversight and accountability measures.

Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
