Mnangagwa Deports Chinese, Malawians

By Political Reporter- The government is deporting foreign nationals whom it says are coming into the country illegally.

Part of those deported so far include hundreds of Chinese and Malawi nationals whom the authorities say are entering the country for employment.

This week, Respect Gono, the chief director at the Department of Immigration, revealed that investigations have unveiled a pattern:

Chinese migrants using mega projects to circumvent authorities and settle in Zimbabwe illegally.

Chinese nationals were reportedly disappearing almost immediately after receiving clearance from immigration.

In an interview with The Independent, Gono emphasized that the Department of Immigration has significantly intensified scrutiny at major entry points since the operation’s inception, resulting in the rejection of numerous foreign arrivals.

Speaking to The Independent, Gono said the Department of Immigration had tightened the screws at major ports of entry since the operation began, and many foreigners were being turned away on arrival. She said:

Our main mandate is to protect the security of Zimbabwe. We turn some of the illegal immigrants away right at the airport. Major projects like Hwange 7 and 8 and other big projects saw a huge influx of Chinese and other people to Zimbabwe purporting to be part of the projects.

Zimbabwe is “Open for Business”, as you know our mantra. But it does not mean we allow illegal migration. We promote safe and regular migration.

What we then do is check on our system if you are really here on a work basis. If you are not, we ask you to leave.

Gono said that Malawian immigrants were not being deported but repatriated. She also revealed that the illegal migrants were arriving in Zimbabwe claiming they were going to work on farms. Said Gono:

We let their embassy identify them. After that, we hire buses to take them back. This is just sending them back through proper channels so that we do not ruin relations. We do not deport Malawians.

We repatriate them because they are part of the Southern African Development Community.

What happens is that sometimes they hide their passports after getting into Zimbabwe. We conduct a search and find to establish if they do have passports.

Mwayiwawo Polepole, Malawian ambassador to Zimbabwe, said:

Considering that cases of that nature were increasing and filling up space in prisons, the Government of Zimbabwe through the immigration department honoured the United Nations convention that the host country of those arrested should be sent back to their countries.

As neighbours and countries enjoying a long history of bilateral and diplomatic relations, two busses were dispatched to Malawi in January.

Shadaya Reports Receiving Threats On His Life

Controversial social commentator, Shadaya Knight has reported receiving threats on his life.

Posting on X, Shadaya said his family members are now worried over his safety as some unidentified men have been asking details about his routine and location among other things.

Below is Shadaya’s appeal to the police;

“Police, I greatly require your assistance. Normally I wouldn’t bring such issues out on public platforms as they can be misinterpreted, but I have no other option.

I have been getting constant threats on my life and family as well for the past weekI ignored it initially as pranks but when I start getting messages from family and friends about unidentified people asking about my routine, location and other information, I have to take it seriously.

My family and friends are very worried about my safety, constantly getting messages and even in person threats that “I’m wanted”.

To my knowledge I have not committed any crime, neither have I even said anything that can be regarded as a crime. Unless talking about societal issues is a crimeAnd if I’m wanted for anything shouldn’t I be called to report to any police station?

I would gladly do so, because I have nothing to hide. Just like everyone else regardless if one agrees or not with my opinions on societal issues, I shouldn’t have to live in fear, always looking at my back, sleeping with one eye open, because of unidentified men looking for me.

Your assistance in this matter will be greatly appreciated

According to the Zimbabwe constitution enacted in 2013, no person shall hold the post of RBZ Governor when he is a shareholder in any banking institution.

It reads; A person shall not be appointed as Governor or Deputy Governor and no person be qualified to hold office as Governor or Deputy Governor if

a) he is a director, shareholder, officer or employee, or a member of any board or committee of any institution

Mushayavanhu has 7 percent shares in FBC Bank which he owned as recent as this year.

Mushayavanhu’s shares were revealed in a news article where FBC concluded the purchasing of Standard Chartered Bank and a breakdown of FBC shareholders shows that the new Governor is a part owner of the financial institution.

Ngarivhume Shares Details On His Call For Protests On 31 July 2020 And Arrest

By Jacob Ngarivhume| Part 1: The call for 31 July 2020 anti corruption demonstrations.

We sat down as a team in April of 2020 to discuss issues bedeviling our country. It was a small non-partisan team that met at my offices then in Hatfield. We agreed at the meeting that we needed to put a new perspective into our struggle for democracy and justice in Zimbabwe, which was to push for an issue based fighting.

There was consensus that we needed to identify issues that cut across citizens and unite us as a nation irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or age group. One such issue that immediately popped up in the small meeting was the corruption scourge. Corruption is endemic in our country, especially in the public sector.

Despite the mineral resources endowment of our country, corruption has stalled growth and robbed all citizens of their future. That’s when we decided to launch a campaign against corruption. I was to take leadership and control of this campaign.

I soon called for nationwide anti corruption demonstrations set for 31 July 2020. I moved around meeting various stakeholders seeking buy-in. The response was overwhelming.

We had meetings with opposition political party leaders, war veterans, and even Zanu Pf affiliated organisations who welcomed the idea. War veteran teams organized for me to meet with traditional leaders, and I did. Civil society responded, and soon prominent civil society leaders mobilised the business community, and I was meeting them.

The buy-in became massive. Our idea was to make this initiative non-partisan and ensure the buy-in of everyone.

One of the key engagements was the media. I had a meeting with Hopewell Chin’ono for the first time, and he welcomed the initiative and promised to publicise the demonstration as a journalist. Soon, he was driving the campaign on his social media platforms.

I had a meeting with prominent opposition leaders, and my brother and compatriot Job Sikhala responded and came on board. Hopewell and Job were to become my partners in a long legal battle to follow.

Momentum grew, and the call for the demonstrations became national, and the regime had no choice but to crack down. I will narrate the crackdown in the next part.

Part 2: The state crackdown of the anti corruption demonstrations…

Following the national buy-in of the 31 July demonstrations, the government got into panic mode.

I began receiving solidarity calls from senior police officers and very senior army officials. Their message to me was simple, thank you for pushing this agenda, and corruption is our common enermy as a nation. We stand with you on this call. I managed to meet a couple of senior army captains dispatched by their generals. They expressed their solidarity and wish that we were successful on the 31st of July.

The state crackdown intensified. They accused us of being sponsored by the West to call for anti corruption demonstrations in the country. They targeted the US embassy in particular. At that stage, I had not even met a single embassy official.

Only later did I have meetings with the Kenyan, Malawian, Rwandese, and South African ambassadors. They all expressed a view that a fight against corruption is noble in any African country and wished us good luck and success.

Senior police officers called me and expressed their solidarity with the demonstration. They however encouraged me to notify Harare Central police about the demonstration as required by the then section of POSA. We notified the police but no response came.

I was called to a JOC meeting at Harare Central Police and I dispatched my team to meet them. They informed us that with the momentum the demonstration was attracting, they feared that violence would break out. So they wanted us to suspend the demonstration.

I called for a press conference and vowed that the demonstration will go ahead with or without police clearance. In any case, my argument was that the law did not require police to ‘clear’ the demonstration but rather they are only ‘notified’.

After the press conference, I stated receiving death threats from CIOs and other state actors I did not know. They started following me. I could not sleep home anymore. For the next three weeks, I was sleeping in different places with my wife in most cases.

One day, I got a call from someone who identified themselves as a senior army official from SAS. He alleged that if we continued with the planning of the demonstration, I may be killed. I told him that I was so determined that at this stage, death does not matter to me.

The police called me several times asking me to cancel the demonstration and I told them that we were going to court to seek an order to allow the demonstration to go ahead.

The Zanu Pf hired thuggery machinery got into action. They threatened to burn down my house. Soon several vehicles were parked outside my house 24/7. We moved the children away, out of town, to live with relatives. Our neighbours were also scared to be out of their homes from 7PM.

My house was under siege and the environment was tense. I maintained my ground.

I then got a call from the US embassy for the first time asking about the details of the demonstration. They were just hearing about the false and malicious accusations that they were sponsoring a demonstration which they were not even aware of. I spoke to the political division official from the embassy for thirty minutes on the phone. That was the only contact I ever had with the US embassy prior to my arrest and subsequent detention.

My phone was now jammed with unknown people threatening to kill me. I dug in. I was so determined to lead the demonstration on the 31st of July.

The most threatening call came on the 18th of July 2020 via an SA registered number. The caller calmly told me that he is coming out of a JOC meeting which was discussing the anti corruption demonstrations. And from the deliberations of the meeting, I am most likely to be killed in the next 48 hrs, and if I am lucky I was going to be arrested instead. The guy was so calm and cool that he got to my mind. I was scared big time for the first time since April when I announced the demonstrations.

I told myself, these guys may kill me after all. Exactly 48 hrs later, I was violently arrested at my local church. Armed police officers arrested me, brandishing AK47s.

I will narrate the arrest in the next episode….

Part 3 My violent arrest on 20 July 2020

I kept in touch with my colleagues Job Sikhala and Hopewell Chin’ono. We were checking on each other regularly. We sensed that the state was up to no good and anything could happen. Job was very useful on giving us the latest intelligence.

On the night of 19 July I slept at my brother’s place just out of town. I could not sleep that night, I had nightmares. The words of the caller that I will definitely be killed in the next 48 hrs but if I am luck I will be arrested were haunting me. I was now living on high adrenaline all these days.

When I got home on the 20th of July morning I took a bath then decided to go to my local AFM church for my morning devotion. It’s a walking distance so I walked with my security detail who was also my bothers son.

As we approached the church I got a call from Job, he had a high voice and he was panicky. He asked me where I was and I told him I was going to church and he told me that I will be arrested by the police soon for they are on their way to my house. I simply proceeded to the church for prayer.

Before long two vehicles pulled in front of me. Nearly twelve men carrying AK47s jumped out of a Toyota Quantum. Only two of them had torn police uniforms, the rest were plain clothes.

One of them asked for my name and I identified myself as Jacob Ngarivhume, he flushed am ID I could not read and he identified himself as a detective inspector from Harare Central Police law and order. He informed me that I was under arrest for inciting public violence. He immediately took my phone and then handcuffed me.

People around the church saw the violence and force used to arrest me and they ran inside their homes. I was not sure at this stage if these people were police for sure. I was convinced that this was an abduction and they they were going to kill me. I asked if I could call my wife and tell her that I was arrested and my lawyer too. They flatly refused. Instead they said they were taking meet to Harare Central Police. They then said they can let my security detail go and he could tell my wife. He refused, instead opting to go with me and see if they w were really taking me to a police station. They then also took his phone and he got into the car I was bundled into.

The drive was long and winding. I did not know if they were taking me to Harare Central Police for sure. I was telling myself this is my end, they will take me to Goromonzi and kill me. I imagined the worst..

I thought of the last moments of my friend Tonderai Ndira, how he shouted these people will kill me Kani please help. I made my last imaginations. I thought of the price paid by the likes of Cde Chitepo, Tongogara, Ziaphapha Moyo, Takawira and others and I told myself I may as well die today. I imagined getting into paradise meeting Christ and comforted myself with the thought of having to meet and talk to Moses and ask him questions I have always wanted to ask the great man.

I told myself maybe I will ask Chitepo if this is the country that he really fought for, and Joshua Nkomo ukuti why did he leave our country and heritage in this state.

After ages of driving around town we turned into Harare Central prison. That was my first relief for the day. I at least knew that at Harare Central I will be trackable. They soon released my security detail and I knew soon he would tell my family and lawyers.

I was placed in a dirty room with no floor. They iron legged me too. I was there for a few moments before getting my second major relief for the day.

I heard leg irons going keche keche coming to our room. A tall figure emerged in both hand and leg irons. It was Hopewell Chin’ono. We greeted and I felt safe at last that I am now with a colleague and chances of disappearing were narrowing.

Soon I was able to call my lawyer Moses Nkomo and inform him that I was arrested.

I will next introduce the legal battle that ensued, exposing serious judicial capture.

Telecel Ditched By 22,000 Subscribers

Telecel’s Substantial Subscriber Loss Amidst Corporate Strife

Harare, Zimbabwe – Telecel Zimbabwe, a major player in the Zimbabwean telecommunications scene, has encountered a significant setback, losing over 22,000 subscribers in the last quarter of 2023. The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (Potraz) disclosed this alarming drop, marking a challenging period for Telecel amidst ongoing corporate disputes.

Potraz’s report indicated a decline of 7.3% in Telecel’s active subscribers, now numbering 281,332, down from 303,364. This contrasted sharply with the growth seen by competitors, particularly Econet, which continued to dominate the market with a 70% share. The overall sector saw a slight increase in subscribers, underscoring the unique pressures faced by Telecel.

“This decline is a direct reflection of the tumultuous period Telecel has been going through,” said a Potraz spokesperson. “While the sector grows, Telecel’s challenges, including corporate governance issues, have undeniably impacted its market presence.”

Telecel has been under the spotlight since May, following a push by a trade union to have it placed under administration. The company’s chairperson, James Makamba, responded robustly to these challenges, especially to reports suggesting the commencement of corporate rescue proceedings.

Makamba stated, “The reports of our supposed entry into corporate rescue proceedings are not just misleading but outright incorrect. Telecel continues to operate, serving our subscribers and stakeholders with the commitment they expect from us.”

Despite these assurances, the subscriber data from Potraz paints a picture of a company struggling to maintain its foothold in a competitive market. Beyond the subscriber losses, the report highlighted sector-wide issues, including operational costs outpacing revenue growth, with Telecel likely feeling this pressure acutely.

“Telecel’s predicament is reflective of broader economic and operational challenges within the sector,” a telecom analyst commented. “Recovery and growth will require not just stabilizing the corporate structure but also regaining subscriber trust and investing in network improvements.”

As the Zimbabwean telecom sector continues to evolve, with shifts towards dollarization and technological upgrades, Telecel’s path to recovery remains uncertain. Stakeholders are watching closely, hoping for a turnaround that will stabilize the company’s operations and restore its position in the market.

Diplomatic Clash As Mnangagwa Deports Hundreds Of Chinese

By Political Reporter- The Zanu PF has deported hundreds of Chinese nationals in response to their claims of employment with Chinese multinationals involved in multi-billion dollar projects within the country.

Apostle Chiwenga Deletes His Sermons And Starts Campaigning For Cheating In Marriage To Be Allowed And Impregnate More Than One Woman

By A Correspondent | ‘Apostle’ Talent Chiwenga, has had his integrity questioned after altering his stance on several sermons regarding infidelity in marriage.

Chiwenga who has deleted some of his videos now preaches that wives must allow another woman to coexist with them inside the same home.

In 2019, Chiwenga advocated against the pursuit of having male offspring, stating, “If you have daughters, be content, and thank God for the children you have. No child is less of a child.” (VIDEO BELOW STORY CONTINUES)

However, by February 2024, his position shifted dramatically, now advocating for men to take a second wife specifically to father sons. He argued, “A woman who hasn’t borne a son owes her husband. Hence, if she fails to produce a son after three or four attempts, she shouldn’t complain if her husband seeks another wife for this purpose.”

He further explained, “The new wife isn’t your enemy but a helper, as you’ve failed in your duty, and your husband is merely seeking assistance. Being a wife in God’s eyes isn’t about physical appearance.”

This recent message starkly contrasts his earlier teachings. At one point, he critiqued the obsession with fathering a son to carry on the family name, asking, “Why the fixation on a male heir? Was Jesus, who left no children, mistaken in focusing on his heavenly father’s legacy? Pursuing a son could result in numerous daughters, all while missing the point of legacy and value in all children.”

This is Talent Chiwenga’s secret girlfriend, Tariro Mafuka (left) he secretly married in 2015, over 4yrs before the 120km per hr speed rush accident in the Masvingo-Mvuma strip rd that killed his wife, Rejoice (right). He says uniformed CIO’s have crossed the Limpopo into SA to kill him

ARTICLE PUBLISHED ON 15 SEPT 2021 “If we thought it’s not possible for a person to sacrifice his wife for powers so their church grows, that’s what Chiwenga did. If he wants to deny that, I’ll download everything that’s happened in his face,” Talent Chiwenga’s mother in law alleged as the accused defended self saying,” God will vindicate me.”

The damning allegations were made early 2021 and have seen the preacher respond saying God will vindicate him, and then threatening her to retract the statement failure which he will institute legal action within 4 weeks. What happened after the mother in law defied the threats and continued boldly speaking?

When ‘Apostle’ Talent Chiwenga was challenged concerning alleged adultery by his own mother in law, he unleashed lawyers using fake threats after his late wife’s mother, and a ZimEye columnist, Howard Nyoni, the legal summons which are below…

as also revealed by Howard Nyoni, shortly before CHIWENGA deployed a British ‘Law firm’, through summons which claimed Nyoni is a former church adherent who is now disgruntled. (Nyoni is a veteran analyst who for years has participated in successful prosecution of church sex predators in UK and Zimbabwe),

Talent Chiwenga also began claiming Howard Nyoni is a disgruntled former member of his cult, JRM- Jesus Revelation Ministries, when such a thing has never happened. Nyoni was a panelist in a news discussion with Chiwenga in Nov 2017, during the times Talent Chiwenga was seeking publicity through the news network.

One of the young girls Talent Chiwenga raped is his own wife’s younger sister, Tariro Mafuka (+27 62 583 1***, we release the number as there is a criminal investigation for murder), he later secretly married more than 3 years before the accident that killed his wife, Rejoice. He would after that date, secretly drive her back to Zimbabwe from South Africa where she has been since the secret marriage, years before.

Sought for a comment over the last 3 years, Talent Chiwenga has declined responding only to resort to video streams on his church portal where he has constantly avoided the issue of his sex attacks against women and his overspeeding in Masvingo road which killed his wife, Rejoice.

In his first accident, in which he has accused Emmerson Mnangagwa, he was rescued by a top notorious ZANU PF he calls a good Samaritan, Mr Seviyas Piki, and in the 2nd one, he was rescued by an unnamed driver in a white vehicle that quickly whisked him away from the accident scene.

Meanwhile, Chiwenga says he has suffered assassination attempts in the last two accidents which have happened between 2019 and 2020.

In his own words, Talent Chiwenga says he was overspeeding for no valid reason when his wife was killedin the Masvingo-Mvuma road VIDEO, FULL TEXT

The below is a full compilation of Talent Chiwenga’s own words between June and November 2019 speaking on LIVE camera giving details on his allegations.

In his own video, recorded inside hospital less than a day after the accident, the preacher loudly says that he was speeding (in a 60km speed limit zone) at 120 kmeters per hour and he even wanted to accelerate beyond 120km for no other reason other than to rush to Harare and purchase a new fan belt for his car. No one was chasing after him. He then collided with an oncoming haulage truck and three people died as a result of the collision (accident video below).

Speaking during a church service, Talent Chiwenga said, ” I had a friend in Eugene Kanyuchi. I am sure many of you you know him. He served me in the work of Christ in the protocol department. And I had Mai Vhurumuko, and I think you all know her, you all knew her. VIDEO ( The story continues below)…

VIDEO LOADING BELOW…

“I faced death with those 2 people for as long as they were in the ministry. A week before we drove to South Africa I sat down with both of them and I said to them- you are following me everywhere I am going, I am in danger because in those three weeks before the accident we had a lot of incidents where death threats continued to come.

“I am sure you still remember at First Street when there was a message that came: run away they are going to come to kill you. And I said I am not going to run. Because I cannot run away from death death is something that nobody can run away from. So I sat with her husband and Mai Vhurumuku, and Baba Vhurumuku is not here, he works outside the country, and I told them there is death that is imminent; we knew about it it, we wrote a letter to president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

“And I told them that I was going to deliver that letter. The two of them, they volunteered to go with me, and I said if I don’t come back what happens to you?

“They said we will then not come back all of us. Vari vaviri, Baba Kanyuchi naMai Vhurumuku, ndaiti ndakavaudza kuti Vhangeri iyi ine vavengi vakawanda, ichasvika panguva yekuti tichafanirwa kuifira, vaiti, ” we are ready to die for the gospel.”

“Hapana anga aine rwendo rwekuenda kuSouth Africa pahu two hwavo. They volunteered to go with me. Three times in South Africa Thursday, Friday and Saturday, I saw a vision somebody was pointing a gun at me and I was being shot. And I was dying in that vision and then I was seeing myself dying when I was standing on the other side, and I told Baba Kanyuchi, I told Mai Chiwenga, this is what is going to happen, I am not comfortable something is about to happen. And they said let the will of the lord prevail.

“Our greatest challenge is when that time comes in our lives are we going to be holding our faith like they did? That is why we cannot count their departure, as a loss, it is not them that lost, it is us who lost. We lost an opportunity to go in good time, murikundinzwa here vadikani? Takashaiwa mukana wekuenda, zvichakanaka. So I just want to remind you that the people that do not believe do not understand their level, their carnal level, their corruptible level, their crooked level, we know what you are aiming for, we know the Lord, we know the Lord is coming. We know we shall be vindicated. We know we shall be justified. We know the gospel is going to go on. We know nobody is going to stop the gospel. We know nothing is going to stop the gospel.

“Not even the murderers, not even the politicians. Not even the CIO, not even the army, they will not stop this gospel. They can kill me today but they can’t kill the gospel.

“Tell your neighbour: they can kill me today but they can’t kill the gospel. The gospel cannot be killed because not even a bullet can reach close to the gospel. It is spiritual it is not physical.

“The AK47 kana CZ Pistol, inogona kuuraya nyama, asi mweya haigone kuuraya. So we just want to observe a moment of silence, but I want us us to first of all read this whole passage, in Phillipians chapter 1, let me read it up to verse 30. And then we observed a moment of silence to remind ourselves that there is a burden that lies squarely on our shoulders, to uphold the faith and to the very end, like our comrades did. They are our comrades, they are our heroes. They are heroes of faith, they stood firm for the gospel, and we have got to do the same. If we walk away from the faith, we are disappointing them. Hallelujah, Jesus is counting on us to stand firm unto the very end. For to me to live is Christ and to die is gain.”

What happened after the mother in law defied the threats and continued boldly speaking? Nothing happened to her, and the legal papers were never actioned.

DeMbare, Ngezi To Play International Matches Outside Country?

The Zimbabwe national team will be forced to find a neutral venue again when the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Group C games resume in June.

The Warriors hosted their first home game in Rwanda last November after CAF condemned all the local stadiums due to their sub-standard conditions.

With little progress made on renovating the grounds thus far, ZIFA Nomalisation Committee president Lincoln Mutasa has revealed that they have already started looking for a stadium outside the country to host the upcoming international games.

The stadium crisis is also expected to affect Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos who will represent Zimbabwe in Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions.

“We are in a serious crisis given the time frames. We have since started finding an alternative venue and we will inform the nation on the outcome,” Mutasa said, as cited by ZBC.

The chairman added: “Most of the facilities are council owned and given council problems, it will be difficulty to see local authorities give priority to stadium facilities, hence we have advised local teams to reach out to councils and acquire land for stadium construction.”

The Warriors will face Lesotho and South African in their next World Cup Qualifiers.

A Call To Action for Advocate Nelson Chamisa: Transforming the Opposition from Within

By A Correspondent

In the ever-evolving landscape of Zimbabwean politics, the role of the opposition is crucial in ensuring a healthy democracy and holding the ruling party accountable.

However, recent sentiments expressed by many, including political analyst David Khumalo, shed light on the urgent need for introspection within the opposition ranks, particularly under the leadership of Advocate Nelson Chamisa.

Charity, as the saying goes, begins at home. It is within the very organization of the opposition that true transformation must first take place.

Position squabbles and internal strife only serve to weaken the opposition’s effectiveness and credibility.

Before championing larger national issues, it is imperative to address the fundamental challenges within the party itself.

Khumalo’s assertion that the opposition seems to have lost its identity and purpose resonates with many disillusioned citizens.

With promises made but unfulfilled, there is a growing skepticism among the populace regarding the opposition’s ability to deliver on its mandate.

This skepticism is further fueled by the perception that the opposition has become entangled in the same web of political maneuvering as the ruling party, leaving ordinary Zimbabweans questioning whether there truly exists a viable alternative.

Advocate Nelson Chamisa, as the leader of the opposition, bears a significant responsibility in charting a new course for his party.

Rather than engaging in political gamesmanship, he must prioritize unity and collaboration within the opposition ranks.

Building a cohesive and inclusive party structure, one that transcends personal ambitions and egos, is essential in revitalizing the opposition’s relevance and appeal.

Moreover, Chamisa must demonstrate a clear and compelling vision for Zimbabwe’s future, one that resonates with the aspirations of the people.

Empty rhetoric and grandiose promises will no longer suffice; tangible solutions and actionable plans are needed to address the pressing issues facing the nation, from economic recovery to social justice.

The road ahead will undoubtedly be challenging, but it is not insurmountable. By fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and genuine grassroots engagement, Advocate Nelson Chamisa can reignite the flame of hope among Zimbabweans.

It is time to move beyond mere opposition for opposition’s sake and instead become the architects of meaningful change.

David Khumalo’s call for introspection within the opposition serves as a wake-up call for Advocate Nelson Chamisa and his colleagues.

Transforming the organization from within is the first step towards reclaiming the trust and confidence of the Zimbabwean people.

The time for action is now, and the path to a brighter future for Zimbabwe begins with a united and visionary opposition.

Mnangagwa Announces Seizure Of Community Project

By A Correspondent

Zimbabwe’s Zanu PF leader, Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa, has revealed plans for his government to take control of the Mapfura community project in Mwenezi.

This declaration was made during the commissioning of the Champions Food Maize and Wheat Milling plant in Tynwald, Harare, on Wednesday.

President Mnangagwa highlighted the importance of indigenous participation in the economy, citing the Champions Food Maize, Wheat, and Stockfeeds Milling Plant as a prime example.

This plant, capable of milling 500 metric tonnes of maize and 200 metric tonnes of wheat per day, represents a significant milestone in local entrepreneurship.

Acknowledging the recent unjustifiable price hikes in mealie meal, Mnangagwa attributed them to foreign-owned milling plants.

He praised the indigenously owned Champions Food plant for its role in stabilizing mealie meal prices, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting rural industrialization and modernization.

Referring to previous initiatives in Mwenezi, Mnangagwa highlighted research conducted by Midlands State University (MSU) on utilizing mapfura for community benefit.

He also mentioned innovations emerging from Bindura University, demonstrating the government’s investment in science, technology, and research to empower future generations.

“My Government will continue to foster a conducive environment for rural industrialization and modernisation.

Some years ago myself and Vice President Chiwenga went to Mwenezi and witnessed donkeys eating mapfura.

We engaged MSU to research on how these mapfuras could be utilized for community benefit.

MSU has since produced Amarula from mapfura.

At Bindura university, out of masawu emerged 3 drinks plus lotions, “said Mnangagwa.

Addressing the issue of land reform, Mnangagwa criticized Western countries for imposing sanctions, reaffirming the government’s stance on redistributing land among indigenous Zimbabweans.

” We reclaimed our land and this embittered Western countries who imposed sanctions against us. Its absurd for them to be angry over ourselves parcelling land to each other yet we don’t get angry when they do the same in their countries, ” said Mnangagwa.

He assured the nation of drought relief efforts and urged accountability in the distribution of food aid.

Mnangagwa emphasized the importance of local ownership in key sectors such as milling, inviting more indigenous players to invest in value addition plants nationwide.

He concluded by urging Zimbabweans to focus on developing their own infrastructure, rather than admiring foreign accomplishments.

Mnangagwa’s speech at the Champions Food Maize and Wheat Milling plant commissioning reflects the government’s commitment to indigenous economic empowerment and self-reliance, as Zimbabwe navigates its path towards prosperity under the Second Republic.

Carbon Dioxide Emissions : What Are The Effects?

By A Correspondent

In the ever-evolving lexicon of climate change, terms like “net zero” have taken center stage in discussions around mitigating environmental impact. Defined by the World Meteorological Organization, this week’s focus on #ClimateDictionary sheds light on the concept of ‘Net Zero’ and its pivotal role in the battle against climate change.

Understanding Net Zero

At its core, achieving net zero involves striking a delicate balance between the amount of carbon dioxide emissions released into the atmosphere and the efforts to remove or offset those emissions. This equilibrium is crucial in halting the relentless rise in greenhouse gas concentrations, a primary driver of climate change.

The Path to Net Zero

Transitioning to a net zero state requires a multifaceted approach that spans various sectors of society. Energy generation, transportation, industrial processes, and agricultural practices all play significant roles in the emission of greenhouse gases. To achieve net zero, these sectors must undergo a profound transformation towards sustainability and emission reduction.

Carbon Removal Efforts

Central to the concept of net zero are carbon removal efforts aimed at mitigating the impact of existing emissions. Creating carbon sinks, such as reforestation projects and carbon capture and storage technologies, are key strategies in this endeavor. By enhancing nature-based solutions and investing in innovative technologies, the global community can enhance its capacity to remove carbon from the atmosphere effectively.

The Call for Action

The urgency of achieving net zero emissions cannot be overstated. With each passing year, the window of opportunity to prevent catastrophic climate change narrows. Bold and decisive actions are required at all levels of society, from individual lifestyle changes to sweeping policy reforms on a global scale.

Collaborative Solutions

International cooperation and collaboration are paramount in the quest for net zero emissions. Governments, businesses, civil society organizations, and individuals must work together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and resilient future. Initiatives like the UNDP’s Climate Promise provide valuable resources and guidance to support countries in their efforts towards net zero.

Conclusion

In the fight against climate change, achieving net zero emissions stands as a critical milestone.

By embracing this concept and taking decisive actions to reduce and offset greenhouse gas emissions, humanity can forge a path towards a more sustainable and equitable future for generations to come.

Let us seize the opportunity to turn the tide on climate change and build a world where net zero is not just a goal but a reality.

World Meteorological Organization

This week’s #ClimateDictionary term is ‘Net Zero’.

Achieving net zero means balancing carbon dioxide emissions with removal efforts, like creating carbon sinks, to halt increases in greenhouse gas concentrations. Transitioning to net zero necessitates transforming energy, transportation, and production systems.

Zanu PF Goons Walk Scot-free After Killing Opposition Activist

By A Correspondent

In a chilling display of unequal justice, Zanu PF supporters implicated in the brutal killing of opposition activist Tinashe Chitsunge have reportedly been set free, sparking outrage and condemnation across Zimbabwe.

The stark disparity in treatment between political factions highlights deep-seated issues within the country’s judicial system and raises serious concerns about the rule of law.

The tragic incident, which occurred last year, saw Chitsunge, a dedicated member of the opposition, fall victim to violence allegedly perpetrated by Zanu PF loyalists.

Despite the heinous nature of the crime, those responsible have seemingly evaded accountability, prompting widespread disbelief and anger among Zimbabweans who demand justice and equality before the law.

Prominent opposition activist Stephen Sarkozy Chuma expressed his dismay over the apparent double standard, emphasizing the stark contrast in how individuals affiliated with Zanu PF and those associated with opposition movements are treated by the authorities.

Chuma’s statement encapsulates the frustration felt by many who perceive a systemic bias favoring the ruling party:

“Surely there is justice for ZANU PF and justice for opposition.”

The glaring inconsistency in the dispensation of justice is further underscored by past cases, such as that of Tungamirai Madzokere and Last Maengahama, who languished in Chikurubi Prison for over eight years on what they claimed were trumped-up charges related to the death of a police officer.

Their prolonged incarceration stands in stark contrast to the swift release of the alleged perpetrators in the Chitsunge case, casting a shadow of doubt on the impartiality and integrity of Zimbabwe’s legal system.

Chuma highlighted the glaring disparity, drawing attention to the stark contrast in treatment between opposition members and those affiliated with the ruling party:

“Tungamirai Madzokere and Last Maengahama spent more than 8 years at Chikurubi on false allegations that they killed a police officer. Now we hear 13 ZANU PF thugs who murdered Tinashe Chitsunge have already been freed.”

The implications of such unequal treatment extend far beyond the confines of individual cases, striking at the heart of Zimbabwe’s democracy and the principles of justice and accountability.

A judiciary perceived as biased or compromised erodes public trust and undermines the very foundations of a functioning society, fostering resentment, instability, and a culture of impunity.

Calls for reform and transparency within Zimbabwe’s legal apparatus are growing louder, with civil society organizations, human rights advocates, and concerned citizens demanding concrete action to address systemic flaws and ensure that the rule of law applies equally to all.

Without meaningful steps to rectify these injustices and uphold the principles of fairness and equality, Zimbabwe risks further erosion of its democratic institutions and the perpetuation of a cycle of impunity and injustice.

As Zimbabweans grapple with the sobering reality of unequal justice, the fate of Tinashe Chitsunge serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for reform and accountability.

Until justice is truly blind to political affiliation and status, the promise of a democratic and equitable Zimbabwe will remain elusive.

Mnangagwa Totally Forgets Mohadi’s Name

By A Correspondent

A recent video clip circulating on social media has sparked widespread reactions as Zimbabwe’s President, Emmerson Mnangagwa, appears to have committed a serious faux pas by forgetting the name of his own deputy, Kembo Mohadi, during a public event. The incident, which occurred in front of dignitaries, has not only raised eyebrows but also ignited discussions about leadership etiquette and unity efforts within the nation.

In the video, Mnangagwa can be seen struggling to recall Mohadi’s name, leading to an awkward moment as he attempts to address his deputy. Such a blunder on a public platform not only undermines Mohadi’s position but also reflects poorly on Mnangagwa’s leadership capabilities.

Furthermore, Mnangagwa’s attempt to speak Ndebele, a language spoken by the Ndebele people of Zimbabwe, as a means to portray himself as a unifying figure, also fell short of expectations.

His evident struggle with the language only added to the discomfort of the situation, highlighting the importance of authenticity and genuine efforts in fostering unity among diverse communities.

Adding insult to injury, Mnangagwa’s addressing of his Minister Kazembe Kazembe as a ‘boy’ has drawn sharp criticism from many quarters, with some interpreting it as a disrespectful gesture.

Such language not only diminishes the dignity of the individual addressed but also reflects poorly on Mnangagwa’s respect for his own government officials.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of leadership decorum and respect within the political sphere. Leaders must not only possess the ability to remember the names of their colleagues but also demonstrate humility, inclusivity, and respect for diversity.

In a country striving for unity and progress, such blunders only serve to erode public confidence and undermine efforts towards nation-building. Mnangagwa, as the head of state, must take heed of the reactions to this incident and work towards fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding among all citizens, regardless of their background or position.

Ultimately, Mnangagwa’s memory mishap and linguistic struggles underscore the need for leaders to lead by example, showing empathy, humility, and inclusivity in their words and actions.

Only through genuine efforts to bridge divides and promote unity can Zimbabwe move forward towards a brighter and more prosperous future.

Zimbabwe Affected By New Australian Visa Regime

By Diplomatic Correspondent – Zimbabwe will likely be affected by the news visa and immigration laws the Australian government is set to implement.

As reported by Australia’s Herald Sun, among the countries under scrutiny for the visa ban are Iraq, Iran, South Sudan, and Russia.

This initiative coincides with a provision for a possible five-year incarceration term for asylum seekers who resist deportation following the exhaustion of all legal avenues.

The bill was tabled mere weeks before the High Court was scheduled to deliberate on a case involving an Iranian individual, identified as ASF17, who adamantly refuses repatriation to his homeland due to fears of persecution based on his sexual orientation.

The proposed legislation takes direct aim at nations deemed uncooperative in facilitating the return of their citizens who have been denied asylum in Australia.

These laws would empower Australia’s Home Affairs Minister, Clare O’Neil, with the authority to obstruct visa applications originating from countries that fail to comply with deportation mandates.

Meanwhile, Australia is cracking down on student visas in an effort to curb record-breaking immigration levels.

According to O’Neil, the stricter rules aim to ensure students come to Australia for genuine educational purposes and to reduce pressure on housing.
Additionally, the government will have the authority to suspend educational institutions that repeatedly violate visa regulations when enrolling international students.
“The actions this weekend will continue to drive migration levels down while delivering on our commitments in the migration strategy to fix the broken system we inherited,” the Home Affairs minister said in a statement.
A new “genuine student test” will be introduced to further crack down on international students who look to come to Australia primarily to work, while the imposition of “no further stay” conditions will be used on more visitor visas.
Recent data released by the Australian Bureau of Statistics showed that its net immigration rose 60% to a record 548 800 in the year to September 30, 2023, higher than the 518 000 for the year ended June 2023. Newsday

Mnangagwa Smuggles Ghost Voters Into The Voters Roll

By Political Correspondent- The Zanu PF wants the old voter registration system abandoned ten years ago to return.

The old system, which saw ghost voters, was administered by Tobaiwa Mudede.

Zanu PF wants to transfer voter registration responsibility from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to the Civil Registry Department under the office of the Registrar General.
This move marks a return to the pre-2013 setup when the office led by Tobaiwa Mudede oversaw voter registration.

During this period, concerns arose over the presence of “ghost voters” on the electoral roll, with Mudede acknowledging difficulties in purging deceased individuals from the list.
Under the proposed revisions, an independent commission would assume delimitation duties currently handled by ZEC.
Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi disclosed that these amendments were prompted by recommendations from Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators in the Ninth Parliament, in anticipation of the 2023 general elections.
Minister Ziyambi explained that discussions during the Ninth Parliament highlighted the need for a revamped electoral process. He emphasized the efficiency of the proposed system, which would seamlessly integrate voter registration with the issuance of national identification cards, ensuring automatic updates to the voter roll upon individuals turning 18 or upon their demise.
Moreover, Minister Ziyambi dismissed claims that these changes were motivated by animosity towards Tobaiwa Mudede, referring to previous suggestions as the “Tobaiwa Mudede Amendment” which he deemed misdirected.
Concurrently, consultations are underway to amend the Constitution, enabling an independent commission to assume responsibility for electoral boundary demarcation.
This strategic restructuring aims to relieve ZEC of contentious tasks related to the voters’ roll and delimitation, allowing the commission to focus solely on administering elections.

Kenya Faces FIFA Sanctions Again

FIFA has threatened to ban Kenya from international football again over third party interference after the High Court in Mombasa stopped March 16 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Annual General Meeting (AGM).

The postponement of the polls was passed after journalist Milton Nyakundi filed a petition challenging the legality of the federation to conduct the meeting.

The world football governing body has now ordered FKF to come up with a date for its elections, cautioning that any further delay could result in sanctions, including potential suspension.

“Please note that the order of the Mombasa High Court dated 15 March 2024 appears to clearly amount to undue influence by third parties which could be considered as a violation of Article 19, paragraph 1 of the Fifa Statutes and Article 7 paragraph1.g.of the CAF Statutes,” reads part of the letter sent by FIFA, as cited by the Nation website.

“Fifa takes view that any further attempt by a third party to prevent the FKF Annual General Meeting from taking place might be considered a violation of to the above-mentioned principle which would oblige our institution to bring the matter to the attention of relevant Fifa bodies for consideration of possible sanctions in line with Fifa Statutes.”

In a similar case, Fifa suspended Kenya from all its activities in February 2022 after the Ministry of Sports dissolved the FA’s board.

Uebert Angel’s Miracle Gwanzura Stadium USD1200 Per Person

USD1200 per person charge

The self proclaimed “prophet” Eubert Angel who is charging USD1200 per person for lessons to perform miracles, paraded shiny yellow earthmovers (in pictures) at Gwanzura Stadium 2 yrs ago, promising to rehabilitate the facility.

In Feb 2022, Angel started renovating Gwanzura Stadium. “I shall hand over the stadium to the City Council when it is in the right shape to host CAF and FIFA matches,” he said.

He continued saying
“This shall be a mini Fnb Stadium. Just watch this space. We shall also work on the Machipisa Shopping Centre Footbridge.

“We are working on the playing surface right now and next is the stands. Bucket seats were purchased. We are thinking to demolish the whole structure. We shall see how it goes” added ‘Prophet’ Uebert Angel.

He then announced he has donated USD50,000.

Since then, the only change are two small toilets. 2 years later, we carry a review.

Zuma Barred From Contesting Due To Criminal Record

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of South Africa has made a significant decision by disallowing the former president, Jacob Zuma, from being listed as a candidate for the MK Party in the forthcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for May 29. This ruling is grounded in Zuma’s criminal record, which effectively renders him ineligible to contest for a seat in the South African parliament. The IEC’s decision came after an objection was raised regarding Zuma’s candidacy, which the commission then upheld.

VIDEO

Jacob Zuma, who served as the President of South Africa from 2009 to 2018, has had a contentious political career, marked by various legal and ethical challenges. Despite being a central figure in South African politics for decades and leading the country through significant periods, his tenure was marred by accusations and controversies that have significantly impacted his post-presidential life. The barring from parliamentary candidacy is a continuation of the legal and political ramifications stemming from his tenure.

The prohibition is not only a setback for Zuma personally but also has implications for his political ambitions and his party. It underscores the legal and institutional barriers to political participation for individuals with criminal records in South Africa, reflecting on the country’s efforts to uphold the integrity of its elected officials.

Furthermore, Zuma’s ineligibility to run for a parliamentary seat is compounded by the constitutional limit on presidential terms in South Africa. Having already served two terms as president, with his second term ending prematurely in 2018 due to his resignation amidst pressure from his political rival, Cyril Ramaphosa, and his party, Zuma is constitutionally barred from seeking the presidency again. His ousting before completing his second term underlines the deep political divisions and the significant challenges he faced within his own party and the country at large.

The IEC’s decision highlights the enduring impact of Zuma’s presidency and the ongoing legal and political challenges he faces. It also reflects the broader themes of accountability and political eligibility in South Africa’s democratic process, emphasizing the country’s commitment to maintaining a standard of integrity and legality for those who serve in its government.

Former Zvimba East MP Oliver Mutasa Initiates Inspiring Projects Despite Parliament Recall

By Justin Munyaradzi In a notable demonstration of resilience and commitment, Hon. Oliver Mutasa, the erstwhile Member of Parliament for Zvimba East Constituency, continues to advance uplifting initiatives despite his recall from parliament by Sengezo Tshabangu and his group. Mutasa has actively engaged with the youth across Zvimba East’s 10 wards, offering entrepreneurial training with a focus on agricultural projects.

Oliver Mutasa

A cohort of 40 youths, four from each ward, has already completed training in a range of agricultural pursuits. Mutasa’s ambition goes further as he aims to establish one garden per adjacent ward, totaling five gardens throughout the constituency. He plans to provide the essential potato seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides needed for land preparation to support these projects.

Under the “Zvimba East Platform,” the youth, especially women, young people, and some elderly individuals in Zvimba East, stand to gain significantly from these endeavors. Mutasa aims for every ward in the constituency to benefit from these transformative projects. In a recent interview, Mutasa shared his steadfast resolve, asserting, “As elected officials, we cannot afford to linger on setbacks or become idle due to the adverse nature of politics. Our duty is to keep engaging with our constituents and to fulfill our electoral pledges.”

Mutasa’s projects tackle vital issues like household food security, the combat against drug abuse due to the lack of employment among the youth, and the empowerment of the next generation. He is currently scouting for appropriate locations to launch these projects, with a preference for areas with accessible land and water. To sustain and broaden these initiatives, Mutasa plans to set up a revolving fund and seek collaboration with allies in other Zvimba constituencies and across Mashonaland West Province, capitalizing on the region’s agricultural economy.

Moreover, Mutasa intends to organize educational tours to empower the youth by offering training and facilitating access to funding, markets, and agribusiness professionals. The first group of young individuals has already been trained in Hwedza South District. Mutasa emphasizes the importance of cooperation and partnerships with other MPs in Mashonaland West province, covering both rural and urban areas, to collectively uplift communities.

With a professional background in environmental engineering, Mutasa is proficient in climate change mitigation and aims to promote sustainable agriculture as a solution to food security challenges. He also plans to engage in sports initiatives, not just to honor the 15,435 individuals who supported him in the August 23, 2023, harmonized elections, but because he believes he still has a mandate to fulfill his electoral promises.

Hon. Oliver Mutasa’s relentless dedication to improving the Zvimba East community stands as a beacon of inspiration. Through his agricultural projects and future plans, he aspires to instigate lasting change, empower the youth, ensure food security, and confront societal issues head-on. Despite his parliamentary recall, Mutasa’s devotion to his constituents is unshaken.

Bad News For Zimbabweans As Australia Tightens Immigration Laws

By Diplomatic Correspondent – The Australian government has set forth stringent proposals to bolster its immigration laws, potentially spelling dire consequences for Zimbabwe and several other nations facing the spectre of a complete visa embargo.

UZ Professor Stoned To Death For Challenging Madzibaba Ishmael

By Showbiz Reporter- The late University of Zimbabwe Professor Itai Muwati was murdered byMadzibaba Ishmael Chokurongerwa’s thugs due to disagreements over certain directives, the late professor’s brother has said.

Madzibaba Ishmael allegedly instructed all men to forsake their non-virgin wives upon marriage, pledging to provide them with virgins as replacements — an edict that Professor Muwati apparently opposed.

Admire was speaking on Tilder’s show on StarFM on Tuesday, where he alleged that his brother was killed. He said (via H-Metro):

Madzibaba Ishmael akaudza vadzidzi vake kuti kana wakaroora mukadzi wako asiri mhandara murambe tinokupa mumwe mukadzi achiri wechidiki ari mhandara.

Varume pavakatanga kunzwa zvemadzimai manyowani vakatanga kusimudza musoro vachiti uku kwanaka kunopihwa madzimai emahara.

Ishmael akazoita munamato wembiya achiita varume kuti misana yavo isimbe nekuti vakange vave kuda kunoita zvevakadzi vakawanda.

Vanhu vese vakanwa from mbiya iyoyo vakabva vaita sokunge vaputirwa zvokuti hapana anonzwisisa ukada kutaura naye kunze kwekunge ndi Ishmael ariye ataura.

(If you try to have a conversation with them, and try to tell them anything bad about Ishmael, they will tell you that “Mambo Ishmael” said we should do this and that.)

According to Admire, his brother suffered a brutal assault at the hands of Madzibaba Ishmael, following a village court session at the farm. He said:

There came a time when my brother said what was happening at the church was not right because of the way that people were dying and also if you tried to go against “Mwari” Ishmael, you would die a mysterious death.

My brother was just addressing them as a learned person that the way they were now worshipping was not right.

There was a misunderstanding, among his right hand-men, and there was a village court at the farm, so Ishmael said God had instructed that my brother should die, they took their sticks and started beating my brother.

Admire said they were now seeking help to go and retrieve the late professor’s property. He said:

Our brother had wealth and properties and we are now looking for help to go get the things that he left there.

He left behind six children and it is difficult for us to take care of them so we need to go and get the cattle and other domestic animals that he left behind.

In 2022, he told us that he had 27 cattle, meaning that right now if we collect them we can start from somewhere so that his family and children are taken care of and go to school.

Admire said that his brother’s relationship with Madzibaba Ishmael soured when the latter instructed congregants to liquidate their possessions and sever ties with their families. He said:

I went against what Madzibaba Ishmael was saying and I left the church.

During that time, many men left their jobs because that is what they were told by Ishmael, my brother continued with his work at the University of Zimbabwe.

When Ishmael was arrested and jailed for four years, and upon his return he went to stay in Murehwa, one of his congregants found plots in Nyabira.

They invited everyone that they used to worship with to go and stay in Nyabira and they referred to it as their land of milk and honey (Canaan).

They were told to sell their phones, beds and televisions, his followers were doing anything and everything he said to the extent that he was referred to as god.

Chokurongerwa and seven of his followers were arrested recently and appeared before Norton magistrate Christine Nyandoro. The court denied them bail, and they were remanded in custody until April 4 for routine proceedings.

The charges against them stem from alleged violations of the Burial and Cremation Act and the Children’s Act.

The co-accused are members of the Johane Masowe-aligned Gore Jena Penyera Nyika. Their names include Shingirai Ngawafune (42), Takavengwa Gwenzi (55), Zebedia Sigudu (49), Devlodge Katsande (47), Wonder Kabaya (41), and Siribinio Chikurunhe (53). All were represented by lawyer Purity Chikanganise during the court proceedings.

The State alleges that Chokurongerwa and his associates conducted funeral services for Hazel Chikunhire and Winlet Kabaya without obtaining proper burial orders for the deceased. This violation raises serious legal concerns, as proper documentation is essential for respectful and lawful burials.

Furthermore, the sect leaders, who acted as guardians for the children residing at the church’s compound in Nyabira, are accused of neglecting, abandoning, and exposing the children to conditions likely to cause unnecessary suffering. The welfare of these vulnerable children is at the heart of the charges brought against the accused.

In a related incident, police raided the farm where the sect operated and rescued 251 children. Shockingly, 246 of these children were found to have no birth certificates, highlighting potential issues related to their legal identity and rights.

Additionally, during the investigation, authorities discovered 16 graves near Madzibaba Ishmael’s shrine. These graves were determined to belong to nine adults and seven children. The circumstances surrounding these burials remain a subject of scrutiny.

Mnangagwa Returns Mudede Ghost Voters

By Political Correspondent- The Zanu PF government has proposed to return ghost voters on the voter’s roll by transferring voter registration responsibility from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to the Civil Registry Department under the office of the Registrar General.

Kenya Faces FIFA Ban

Decoding ‘Net Zero’: A Crucial Step In Climate Action

Memory Mishap: Mnangagwa Totally Forgets Mohadi’s Name In Public Address

Wicknell Chivayo Rewards Woman with Brand New Aqua For Making Obscene Dancing Gestures

By A Correspondent

Controversial Zanu PF businessman Wicknell Chivayo has once again made headlines, this time for rewarding a Zanu PF activist with a brand new Aqua after showcasing her dancing skills by vigorously shaking her backside.

This incident has sparked a wave of reactions, shedding light on Chivayo’s recurrent pattern of gifting vehicles to Zanu PF sympathizers, musicians, and celebrities.

The incident unfolded at a Zanu PF event where the woman captivated the audience with her energetic dance moves, particularly her hip-swiveling performance. The footage quickly circulated on social media, drawing both admiration and criticism.

In response to the viral video, Chivayo took to social media to announce his decision to reward the enthusiastic dancer. In his statement, he expressed his admiration for her skills and pledged to gift her a brand new Aqua, along with $2000 for the down payment and driving lessons.

“DJ MASOMERE please enda na Amai ava pana Madzibaba Chipaga vapihwe AQUA yavo ne 2000 USD today…Drivers license kana vasina she can start lessons today and collect her car in two weeks. Zvinhu zve ZANU PF mufaro wega wega, pakangonzi Mr Aquaman vari pano pakatambwa zvinoshamisa,” Chivayo remarked.

This gesture by Chivayo has reignited the debate surrounding the intersection of politics, entertainment, and business in Zimbabwe. While some applaud his generosity and support for Zanu PF activists, others criticize it as a blatant display of patronage and political favoritism.

Chivayo’s history of lavish gifts to individuals affiliated with Zanu PF has raised eyebrows in the past, with critics accusing him of using his wealth to curry favor with the ruling party. However, his supporters argue that his philanthropic endeavors should be commended, regardless of the recipients’ political affiliations.

The controversial businessman, often referred to as “Mr. Aquaman” due to his penchant for gifting Aqua vehicles, remains unfazed by the criticism. He continues to wield his influence and wealth in ways that spark both admiration and controversy.

In a country grappling with economic challenges and political tensions, Chivayo’s actions serve as a reminder of the complex dynamics at play. While some view his gestures as acts of benevolence, others see them as symptomatic of a deeper issue of political patronage and inequality.

As discussions surrounding Chivayo’s latest gift unfold, one thing remains clear: his actions will continue to provoke debate and scrutiny in Zimbabwean society, highlighting the intricate relationship between wealth, power, and politics.

Chizuzu Mapeza Must Step Down From ZIFA

Dear Editor

The entire nation is aware of why Chizuzu supports Mapeza; Google has a long memory. When discussing the fabricated national team incident in Asia, it’s crucial to reference Mapeza and Chizuzu. They reportedly bought houses in Msasa Park with the money from match-fixing.

One wonders which Council has the funds to purchase houses in Msasa Park. Their support for Mapeza is clear—they consistently dismiss any foreign coach in favor of him. Tom Saintfiet and now Brito Dijong were reportedly removed from FC Platinum to make way for Mapeza, as part of their ongoing battle to protect their match-fixing cartel. They long for the illicit profits they once enjoyed.

Furthermore, they fiercely oppose the British brigade. Professional players with legitimate football careers would never jeopardize their reputations for a mere 5k in a single international match when they already earn £5-15k per week. These individuals are attempting to bring back the days of the Asiagate scandal, having grown fond of the easy money. However, changing their ways is as impossible as turning a donkey into a cow or a zebra into a donkey—if you know, you know. Zimbabweans are fed up with those involved in the Asiagate scandal; their actions have caused immense harm to our football.

Consider FC Platinum: despite their wealth, their performance in the CAF competitions has been lackluster, with matches being manipulated. Reflecting on the national team’s record under Mapeza, one has to question his significance. Pasuwa refused to be part of the Asiagate scandal, and now those who stood against match-fixing, like Tatenda Mkuruva, see their once-promising careers ruined. They spoke out against the reemergence of these practices.

If Zimbabwe truly desires to improve its football, Chizuzu and Norman must step down from their roles in the national team. Their actions, like selling return tickets before knowing the tournament’s outcome, are clear indicators of match-fixing. Such behaviors are unacceptable; we need integrity in our football, not individuals who prioritize money over the sport’s wellbeing.

Mnangagwa Struggles To Hold Country Together, Cancels Bocha Rally

In a series of unsettling events that have further deepened the political crisis in Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa stands accused of a range of thefts—from electoral to monetary—casting a long shadow over his administration’s legitimacy since the controversial August 2023 elections. Mnangagwa’s victory, which he asserts was fair, has been met with widespread condemnation, including from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), signaling a regional unease with the electoral process and its aftermath.

The escalating tension took a dramatic turn when Mnangagwa canceled his much-anticipated “thank you” rally at St Noah College in Bocha, Manicaland province, slated for Saturday. This event, coinciding with the Passover feast, was meant to be both a political gathering and a spiritual visit. However, allegations surfaced against Nyasha Marange, a church member and the Zanu PF Member of Parliament for Mutare West, accusing him of exploiting his relationship with church leader St Nimrod. Marange reportedly coerced wealthy church members into funding the President’s visit, an action that has reportedly “tarnished the image of the church,” with claims that the high priest was unaware of Marange’s actions.

In defense, Marange vehemently denied the allegations, stating, “We are a rich church… We have no need of going to anybody to beg for money, let alone force them to make contributions.” He underscored the church’s self-sufficiency and numerous projects, challenging anyone to substantiate the claims of forced contributions.

Marange is no stranger to controversy, having recently been in the spotlight for demanding control over a substantial US$1.2 million meant for the Chiadzwa Community Share Ownership Trust. This move, coupled with accusations of sidelining fellow MPs and imposing himself as the fund’s manager, has sparked serious internal conflicts.

Adding to Mnangagwa’s woes are explosive allegations from Simbarashe Marumahoko, a senior ZANU PF figure, who has publicly accused the President of demanding a $20 million bribe to release food aid. An audio clip circulating on social media captures Marumahoko’s furious condemnation of Mnangagwa’s leadership, stating, “Mnangagwa sold the country. What kind of president is that?” His remarks paint a picture of a party and a nation in turmoil under Mnangagwa’s rule.

As Zimbabwe grapples with these multifaceted challenges, Mnangagwa’s ability to maintain cohesion within his party and the country at large is under severe test. By A Correspondent| In a tragic turn of events, a teenage boy, on the brink of his O’ Level examinations, met an untimely demise after being mistaken for an intruder and shot five times in the head. The incident occurred at a residence where the young victim had previously worked.

The shooter, identified as Humphrey Gara, has been found guilty of culpable homicide despite claiming self-defense. Gara’s actions led to the death of the unarmed teenager, resulting in a legal battle that concluded with a sentence of 12 months imprisonment, as ruled by High Court Judge Justice Cathrine Bhachi-Muzawazi.

Initially facing a three-year sentence, Gara’s term was reduced with one year suspended on the condition of good behavior. Another year was suspended contingent upon his agreement to compensate the victim’s family, the amount of which will be determined through mutual agreement.

During the trial, Justice Bhachi-Muzawazi remarked on the disproportionate use of force by Gara, stating, “By discharging five bullets onto the deceased’s human torso, the accused exceeded any possible limit of self-defense, if any, and was both reckless and negligent in causing the death of the accused.”

The judge further highlighted Gara’s lack of remorse, noting his failure to assist during the teenager’s funeral and the absence of meaningful efforts to engage or compensate the deceased’s family even years after the incident.

“The manner in which the deceased was killed,” the judge continued, “with several lacerations synonymous to bullet wounds found on his thorax area and one on the forehead, only exacerbates the severity of the offense.”

Businessman Arrested Over 50,000 Fraud

In a dramatic turn of events, Elliot Mharadze, a 42-year-old businessman from Bulawayo’s Malindela suburb, faced the legal consequences of his long-standing evasion from justice. The director of Exceed Construction made a court appearance before Bulawayo Magistrate Mr. Joseph Mabeza on charges of defrauding 19 individuals out of more than $50,000 through deceptive housing deals. The court session held yesterday has reignited discussions on the prevalence of fraud in the real estate sector.

Mharadze, who had been eluding capture for five years, is now facing 10 counts of fraud, and has been remanded in custody awaiting a bail hearing today. “This case is a stark reminder of the vigilance needed when entering into property deals,” stated Prosecutor Ms. Siphiwe Mhlanga, outlining the deceptive practices Mharadze employed to swindle his victims.

The court was captivated as Ms. Mhlanga recounted the ordeal of Mr. Butholezwe Dube, who in 2018, paid a $13,000 deposit for a home that never materialized. Dube’s subsequent discovery that the stand had been sold under another name highlighted the systematic approach Mharadze used to defraud his clients.

From selling non-existent stands to promising homes in suburbs across Bulawayo, Mharadze’s fraud spanned a wide net, ultimately embezzling $47,925 and R953,000 from his victims. “Each account of fraud not only represents financial loss but also shattered dreams of homeownership,” Ms. Mhlanga added, emphasizing the impact of Mharadze’s actions.

Mharadze’s legal representation, Mr. Goodluck Katanaire from Mutuso, Taruvinga, and Mhiribidi Attorneys, faces the challenging task of defending against the weighty allegations of deceit and betrayal of trust.

In a related development, Patricia Mutanowa, a 33-year-old woman based in Harare, appeared before the same magistrate facing charges of theft of trust funds. Accused of masquerading as an administrator for the non-government organization Esteemed Business Women Zimbabwe, Mutanowa allegedly defrauded numerous individuals of $1,862 through deceptive event organizing schemes.

As these cases unfold, they serve as a cautionary tale about the pitfalls within Zimbabwe’s property and charity sectors, underscoring the need for due diligence and transparency in all transactions.-state media

Farm Invaders Arrested

Two men have been arrested and charged with public violence following their alleged orchestration of a large-scale disruption at a farm operated by Schweppes in the Beitbridge West area. Vigilance Rich Baloyi, 35, and King Welly Nguluvhe, 25, are accused of mobilizing a mob exceeding 100 individuals in a forceful eviction of workers and extensive property damage at the Shobi Block subdivision 1 farm. This farm, under the stewardship of Beitbridge Juicing Schweppes Sunrise, has been at the center of a contentious dispute regarding land use and rights.

On a fateful Wednesday afternoon, prosecutors assert that Baloyi and Nguluvhe, in coordination with several other accomplices who remain at large, initiated their plan by gathering a group of about 20 people. This assembly occurred at the Toporo Business Centre, where they, along with others, were transported in vehicles including a Toyota Hiace truck to the farm in question. This action set the stage for what would unfold as a significant assault on the premises allocated to the juicing company by the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development in 2019.

Upon arrival at the farm, the mob, allegedly led by the two men now in custody, launched an attack that saw the eviction of four farm workers and the theft of 122 cattle. The group went as far as to dismantle and set ablaze portions of the infrastructure, including tents and cattle pens, fundamentally accusing the farm employees of encroaching on their grazing lands.

The severity of this incident is underscored by the forcible removal of farm employees and livestock, alongside the physical destruction inflicted upon the property. The confrontation has prompted a response from local authorities, leading to the immediate arrest of Baloyi and Nguluvhe. Their initial court appearance did not include a plea, as the legal proceedings are only beginning to unfold.

As the local police continue their search for the remaining individuals involved in this egregious act of public violence, the community and stakeholders await further developments. This incident not only highlights the acute tensions surrounding land and resource allocation in the region but also raises serious questions about the measures necessary to prevent such confrontations in the future. The implications of this event extend beyond the immediate legal repercussions for those involved, touching on broader issues of land rights, agricultural development, and the sustainability of business operations in face of community grievances.

Mwonzora’s NERA Condemns Constitutional Amendments

By A Correspondent| The National Elections Reform Agenda (NERA) has issued a staunch rebuke against proposed amendments to the Constitution and the Electoral Act by Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu PF.

Speaking on behalf of NERA, spokesperson Douglas Mwonzora vehemently opposed the amendments, asserting that they pose a significant threat to the independence and integrity of Zimbabwe’s electoral processes.

At the heart of NERA’s objections are amendments that aim to transfer crucial functions such as voter registration and delimitation from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), an independent commission outlined in Chapter 12 of the constitution, back to the Registrar General and the Delimitation Commission.

These bodies, appointed by the executive branch, were part of the previous system rejected by the Zimbabwean people in both the 2013 Constitution and the 2000 referendum.

NERA has articulated two primary reasons for its opposition to these amendments.

“NERA unequivocally denounces these amendments for two primary reasons. Firstly, they represent a direct assault on the independence of chapter 12 institutions, particularly ZEC, secondly, the proposed changes undermine the principle enshrined in the 2013 constitution, thus jeopardizing the progress made towards fair and transparent electoral processes,” said Mwonzora.

According to NERA, upholding the sanctity of the new constitution is imperative, as it was crafted to ensure the independence and efficiency of electoral institutions.

However, the proposed amendments, which seek to remove functions from the ZEC and return them to executive-appointed bodies, represent a regressive step that compromises the democratic aspirations of Zimbabwe.

Moreover, NERA warns that these amendments could dismantle the achievements of the new constitution and undermine ZEC’s ability to function independently and efficiently.

Such actions, the organization contends, would further erode public trust in the electoral process, raising concerns about the fairness and legitimacy of future elections in Zimbabwe

Land Baron Suspect Arrested Over Fraud

In a disheartening turn of events, a suspected land baron, Webster Ngwaru, stands accused of orchestrating a fraudulent scheme that left two property buyers out of pocket to the tune of US$21,000. The alleged fraudster was remanded to April 23 on a US$250 bail by Harare Magistrate Mrs. Apollonia Marutya, facing two counts of fraud, as the legal proceedings begin to unfold against him.

The accusations detail a deceptive plot where Ngwaru, leveraging the promise of land ownership, allegedly entangled his victims in fraudulent transactions that ultimately led to substantial financial losses. In 2019, Ngwaru reportedly advertised residential stands for sale situated between Mabvuku in eastern Harare and Zimre Park in Ruwa, catching the attention of Ms. Tendai Chinhema, who was residing in Australia at the time.

Enticed by the advertisement, Ms. Chinhema purchased an 800-square-meter stand valued at US$6,500, completing her payments in installments by November 2019. She further acquired a second stand for US$7,000, with both pieces of land registered in her name, and receipts provided as proof of transaction.

However, the dream of land ownership quickly crumbled when Harare City Council officials informed Ms. Chinhema that the land never belonged to Ngwaru and was, in fact, not up for sale. In a distressing revelation, it was found that structures on other stands developed in the area had been demolished, signaling a broader issue with the land’s legitimacy.

In an attempt to rectify the situation, Ms. Chinhema sought a refund from Ngwaru, leading to an agreement where she would receive US$10,000 and the balance in installments. Unfortunately, Ngwaru failed to uphold his end of the deal, resulting in a total loss of US$15,750 for Ms. Chinhema.

In a separate count of alleged fraud, Ngwaru is accused of deceiving Ms. Ollyn Rudo Kanyenze, 58, through the sale of stands in Crowhill Estate, Borrowdale, Harare, in January of the current year. After paying an administration fee and part of the purchase price totaling US$5,350, Ms. Kanyenze discovered no developments on the land and was eventually informed by Ngwaru that she would be refunded after 90 days. However, the promised refund never materialized, and Ngwaru became evasive, prompting Ms. Kanyenze to report the matter to the police.

These allegations have cast a shadow over the real estate sector in Harare, exposing the vulnerabilities and risks faced by prospective property buyers. As the legal proceedings against Webster Ngwaru proceed, the victims are left to grapple with the financial and emotional toll of their dealings with the suspected land baron, highlighting the need for vigilance and thorough vetting in property transactions.

Prostate Cancer Leading Cause Of Death Among Men

PROSTATE cancer has become the leading cause of cancer related deaths among men, amid growing concern that an increasing number of younger men after being affected.

According to the National Cancer Registry population-based results for 2022, nearly 8 000 new cancer cases were recorded with 11 percent of the cases being prostate cancer.

“Yes, it is true the Zimbabwe National Cancer Registry recorded 11 percent of all the cases that were recorded as prostate cancer.

This shows that prostate cancer is contributing significantly to the national cancer burden. Remember, prostate cancer is a cancer that develops in men, but you can see that it is contributing significantly to the national cancer burden,” said Information Research and Evaluation Officer – Cancer Association of Zimbabwe, Mr Lovemore Makurofira.

Of the 2 743 cancer related deaths, 274 of them were prostate related.

“80% of all these statistic, most of them are actually diagnosed very late and according to the Zimbabwe National Cancer Registry, 80% of the cases are diagnosed at stage 3 and 4 and that late detection means that the prospect of curing the cancer will be very low and the cost of treatment will be very high to the patient, the family, the communities and also to the nation,” he added.

Concern has since been raised over the age range with some of the prostate cancer cases being detected among men who are below the age of 40.

“Another new trend that has been noted, is that the younger males in Zimbabwe among the black population are developing prostate cancer.

We used to know that prostate cancer would likely be a problem among men 50 years and above, but that trend that we are seeing where males around 38 years are developing prostate cancer is a very worrying trend. So older and younger males need to take prostate cancer seriously,” explained Makurofira.

With the prevalence of prostate cancer, there are growing calls for regular screening to ensure early detection and treatment.

Chivayo Breaks Silence On Embarrassing Divorce

By Showbiz Reporter- Controversial businessman Wicknell Chivayo has broken his silence regarding his highly publicized divorce from Sonja Madzikanda.

Last year, on his birthday anniversary, Chivayo shared a cryptic message that left many puzzled, including the media outlet H-Metro, prompting the headline: “WICKNELL, WHAT DID YOU REALLY MEAN?”

In the now-deleted post, Chivayo expressed gratitude towards his two children, emphasizing their unconditional love without any financial expectations.

“The only two living people that love me unconditionally,” he wrote alongside a picture of his children, adding, “The rest makateya mari ndiri kukuzivayi hangu.” This statement stirred speculation that individuals outside his immediate family were only interested in financial gain from their association with him.

When questioned about the post, Chivayo dismissed any hidden meanings, asserting it was merely a caption with no underlying messages.

However, with the recent dissolution of his seven-year marriage, questions arise as to whether his estranged wife, Sonja, was included among those he believed had ulterior motives.

Speculation intensified when Chivayo’s post coincided with Sonja’s apparent omission of a birthday message to him. Now, in hindsight, many are revisiting these messages, pondering if they overlooked warning signs of marital discord.

Social media erupted with mixed reactions, indicating that Chivayo’s post may have carried weightier implications than initially perceived.

Despite the turmoil in his personal life, Chivayo has portrayed an image of contentment in recent months, lavishing gifts and monetary donations upon acquaintances, including artists and church leaders.
Notably, amidst the divorce news, Chivayo continued his generous streak, gifting musician Sniper Storm a new car.

This gesture, coupled with his seemingly unaffected demeanor, has left many puzzled about the true state of affairs behind the scenes.

As the public awaits further developments, Chivayo’s cryptic messages serve as a reminder of the complexities that often lie beneath the surface of a seemingly charmed existence.

Sikhala Shipped-Out For Urgent Medical Treatment

Political Reporter -National Democratic Working Group (NDWG) leader Job Sikhala has been airlifted to a foreign hospital for critical medical examinations.

During his incarceration at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, Sikhala endured persistent health issues, including alarming symptoms such as bloody stool and severe abdominal pain concentrated on his left side. Suspicions of poisoning arose due to the nature of his symptoms, prompting the decision for immediate medical attention beyond the nation’s borders.

Darlington Chingwena, the head of information and communication at NDWG, confirmed Sikhala’s deteriorating health condition, stating, “Sikhala embarked on these medical check-ups fully aware of the risks, given the oppressive tactics often employed against dissenters in our country.” Chingwena further elaborated that Sikhala’s overseas treatment was imperative for accurate diagnosis and proper medical care.

Expressing hope for a swift recovery, Chingwena emphasized the urgency of Sikhala’s return, citing the multitude of challenges facing Zimbabweans. “The completion of these medical examinations is paramount, as Zimbabweans eagerly await Sikhala’s return.

Our nation is at a standstill, grappling with soaring inflation, land evictions, inadequate transportation, educational disruptions, and a myriad of other pressing issues. Sikhala’s leadership is indispensable in navigating through these crises,” Chingwena remarked.

Sikhala’s recent health ordeal follows a prolonged period of pre-trial detention spanning 595 days, underscoring the challenges faced by political figures in Zimbabwe’s contentious landscape.

SA Main Opposition Promises ZEP Holders Citizenship

South Africa of the Zimbabwe Community in South Africa, Ngqabutho Nicholas Mabhena, advises beneficiaries of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) not to readily believe Helen Zille’s statements regarding granting them citizenship in the neighbouring country.

Helen Zille, former leader and current Federal Council Chair of the Democratic Alliance (DA), expressed in a recent interview that ZEP holders should be regularized due to their long stay in South Africa and their significant contributions to the economy.

While Zille opposes revoking their permits, she emphasizes the need for proper laws and border control by the South African government.

However, Mabhena warned that political parties in South Africa may exploit the issue of migrants as one of their rallying points in their campaigns. Said Mabhena.

South Africa is in the middle of an election campaign, whose elections will be held on May 29, 2024, and Zille has said holders of the exemption permits should be given citizenship.

Already, there is a court case which wants ZEP holders to be granted Permanent Residence Permits. Now she has taken it up to say give them citizenship.

We discussed an opinion poll by the eNCA and based on that opinion poll, it seems opposition parties are not attracting enough support to the extent that they will dislodge the ANC from power. This poll put support for the DA at 20 per cent.

While the DA is concerned about the borders it has not taken a tougher stance on migrants in SA. This is election season and migration is discussed.

Mabhena suggested that Zille could be using the burning ZEP issue to attract more funding from employers for her party.

 He said:

I am a member of the African Diaspora Forum (ADF) and know a lot of migrants will welcome what Zille is saying but we need to think deeply about the intentions in this election.

This is an election campaign right, is she trying to attract more funding from employers to her party in this election campaign?

She does make a point that migrants have made a contribution to the South African economy but what is her intention in raising this during the election campaign?

I’ve not seen the response from ActionSA which uses migration as its key message and we know ideologically ActionSA is liberal like the DA.

Is Zille trying to draw more funding from employers or is she genuine?

The ZEP, along with the Lesotho Exemption Permits, was extended until November 2025. This decision affects approximately 178,000 Zimbabweans currently living and working in South Africa.

Wicknell Chivhayo Divorce Drama, Details Emerge

By Showbiz Reporter-Controversial tycoon Wicknell Chivhayo finds himself in the throes of a tumultuous divorce saga, with potentially millions of dollars and properties hanging in the balance as his estranged wife, Sonja, unveils the unravelling of their once high-profile union.

The union, sealed in 2017 with a reported bride price of US$50,000, now faces the scrutiny of legal battles and financial negotiations as the couple parts ways after seven years.

Taking to Instagram, Sonja disclosed the dissolution of their marriage, indicating that the separation would soon be formalized, possibly on the first of May.

She expressed gratitude for the support received and affirmed her commitment to co-parenting their children.

With the impending divorce looming, questions arise about the division of assets.

Legal experts suggest that despite Zimbabwean law typically enforcing marriages out of community of property, Sonja may be entitled to a substantial claim based on assets acquired during their marriage.

The intricacies of asset ownership and partnership roles come into play, potentially leading to a significant settlement for Sonja.

Drawing parallels to high-profile divorces globally, such as Melinda Gates’ $76 billion settlement from Bill Gates and MacKenzie Bezos’ $38 billion settlement from Jeff Bezos, the financial stakes of Chivhayo’s divorce saga are palpable.

In past divorce cases like that in South Africa, where a wife claimed R95,000 monthly maintenance and millions towards legal costs, or in Australia, where a wife sought substantial support and property settlements, the gravity of marital dissolution’s financial aftermath is evident.

As the Chivhayo divorce drama unfolds, all eyes are on the impending legal battles and the potential division of assets, marking a significant chapter in the tumultuous personal life of the controversial businessman.

According to eyewitness accounts, the situation quickly escalated, leaving passengers and onlookers in a state of panic.

One witness, known only as Mike, recounted the moments leading up to the inferno, highlighting a sense of disbelief and despair. Wearing a red t-shirt, which he lamented had “fallen like a sack,” Mike expressed a profound sadness over the event. He implored others to be more vigilant, suggesting that a simple act like looking out the window upon waking could make a significant difference in such emergencies.

Sengezo Tshabangu Calls Self Genuine Opposition Voice: Fact or Fiction?

By A Correspondent

In a bold assertion of his political stance, Sengezo Tshabangu, the self-proclaimed interim Secretary General of the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), has declared himself as the authentic voice of opposition in Zimbabwe.

However, his assertion is met with skepticism from many quarters, labeling him as a puppet of the ruling Zanu PF party, allegedly tasked with undermining political adversaries of President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Tshabangu’s claim to be the genuine opposition voice is not without controversy.

Many view him as a figure manipulated by the ruling party to sow discord among opposition ranks, rather than serving as a true advocate for democratic change. Despite these doubts, Tshabangu remains resolute in his conviction, dismissing detractors and affirming his role as the sole legitimate opposition force in the country.

In a recent statement, Tshabangu defiantly asserted, “Let them do whatever they want to do, say whatever they want to say, but the authorities know the truth well, there’s no two ways about that, the real opposition lies in our hands and we’re the only party that’s entitled to get the funding, all these are just pretenders, time will tell.”

These words underscore Tshabangu’s unwavering belief in his cause and his confidence in the righteousness of his claim.

However, they also reveal a hint of arrogance, dismissing other opposition factions as mere imposters. The implication that only his party deserves funding and recognition raises questions about his commitment to inclusivity and democratic principles.

Critics argue that Tshabangu’s allegiance to the ruling party undermines his credibility as an opposition figure.

They point to his close ties with Zanu PF and accuse him of serving as a pawn in their political game. By positioning himself as the sole legitimate opposition voice, Tshabangu risks further fracturing an already fragmented political landscape, potentially weakening the opposition’s collective strength against the ruling party.

In response to these allegations, Tshabangu has remained defiant, brushing off accusations of collusion and asserting his independence. However, his actions and affiliations continue to fuel skepticism among observers, who question his motives and sincerity.

The controversy surrounding Tshabangu highlights the complexities of Zimbabwe’s political landscape, where allegiances shift, and loyalties are often muddled.

As the country navigates its path forward, the role of genuine opposition voices remains crucial in ensuring accountability, transparency, and democratic governance.

In the midst of these debates, one thing remains clear: the struggle for political reform in Zimbabwe is far from over.

Whether Tshabangu emerges as a genuine champion of change or a pawn in a larger political game, only time will tell. Until then, Zimbabweans must remain vigilant, scrutinizing all voices claiming to represent their interests and holding their leaders accountable to the principles of democracy and justice.

In a surprising turn of events, Senegal’s political landscape witnessed a significant shift as 44-year-old opposition leader Bassirou Diomaye Faye secured victory and was named the country’s next president.

Faye’s ascension to power comes less than two weeks after being released from prison to participate in the presidential election.

His triumph marks a milestone in Senegal’s democratic journey and serves as a beacon of hope for the continent as a whole.

Amidst the jubilation following Faye’s victory, Advocate Chamisa, a prominent figure known for his advocacy in Africa, expressed his elation and optimism.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Chamisa hailed the development as “GOOD NEWS FROM SENEGAL…

The face of Africa is young! #AgainstAllOdds.” His words capture the essence of Faye’s win and its broader implications for Africa’s political landscape.

Faye’s rise to power underscores the growing influence of youth in African politics.

At 44, he represents a new generation of leaders who are challenging the status quo and pushing for change.

His victory sends a powerful message that age is not a barrier to leadership and that fresh perspectives and innovative ideas have the potential to drive progress and development.

Moreover, Faye’s journey from incarceration to presidency highlights the resilience and determination of political activists in Africa.

Despite facing obstacles and adversity, he remained steadfast in his commitment to democratic principles and the pursuit of a better future for his country.

As an opposition leader, he symbolizes the aspirations of ordinary citizens who yearn for leadership that is responsive to their needs and committed to upholding democratic values.

His election sends a clear signal to incumbents and aspiring leaders alike that the era of autocracy and impunity is coming to an end.

As Africa continues on its path towards democratic governance and inclusive development, Faye’s triumph serves as a source of inspiration and optimism for the entire continent.

Leave Chivayo Alone : Zivhu

By A Correspondent

In recent times, Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo has found himself under intense scrutiny, particularly regarding his alleged involvement in financial irregularities.

Amidst the fervent discussions surrounding his actions, a surprising defender has emerged in the form of Zanu PF official Killer Zivhu. Zivhu’s vocal support for Chivayo has sparked controversy and raised eyebrows, but his reasoning sheds light on a perspective often overlooked in the discourse.

Zivhu’s impassioned defense of Chivayo is rooted in a narrative of struggle and triumph. He portrays Chivayo as a self-made individual who rose from adversity to success, overcoming challenges with resilience and determination.

Zivhu claims Chivayo is a man of humble beginnings, emphasizing the support he received from his mother during difficult times.

In Zivhu’s eyes, Chivayo’s critics are branded as “fools and jealous,” failing to acknowledge the journey he undertook to achieve his current position.

See Zivhu’s statement :

“Those criticizing Sir-Wicknell are fools and jealous.

He struggled in life, facing humiliation and adversity. His loving mother supported him through it all. May her soul rest in peace. How many of you helped him when he had nothing? Now you want to lecture him on how to use it. “

The crux of Zivhu’s argument lies in the notion of personal responsibility and the right to enjoy the fruits of one’s labor.

He questions the legitimacy of others’ claims to dictate how Chivayo should utilize his wealth, particularly when they were absent during his moments of need. Zivhu challenges the hypocrisy of those who now seek to lecture Chivayo on financial management, suggesting that their sudden interest in his affairs stems from envy rather than genuine concern.

While Zivhu’s defense may appear controversial to some, it underscores a broader debate surrounding wealth, privilege, and accountability. In Zimbabwe, where economic disparities are stark and opportunities often limited, the narrative of the self-made individual resonates deeply. Chivayo’s rise from obscurity to prominence symbolizes the aspirations of many striving for success against all odds.

However, the controversy surrounding Chivayo cannot be ignored. Allegations of corruption and misuse of public funds cast a shadow over his accomplishments, raising valid questions about accountability and transparency.

While Zivhu’s defense focuses on Chivayo’s personal journey, it skirts the broader ethical implications of his actions and their impact on society as a whole.

Ultimately, the debate surrounding Wicknell Chivayo transcends individual personalities, touching on fundamental issues of governance, integrity, and justice.

While Zivhu’s defense offers a perspective rooted in empathy and personal empowerment, it should not overshadow the need for thorough investigation and accountability.

In a society striving for progress and prosperity, it is imperative to hold individuals and institutions accountable for their actions, irrespective of their status or background.

As the discourse continues to unfold, it is essential to engage in constructive dialogue that addresses the complexities of the situation while upholding principles of justice and transparency. Only through open and honest conversation can Zimbabwe move forward towards a future built on trust, accountability, and shared prosperity.

South African Socialite Denies Dating Wicknell Chivhayo

Digital content creator and beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase expressed gratitude to Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo for dispelling rumors suggesting they are dating.

Ndamase is currently in Miami in the United States, living her best life but that hasn’t stopped the gossip mongers from spilling tea.

“Meet Mihlali Ndamase’s new boyfriend Wicknell Chivayo,” tweeted Musa Khawula.
“High calorie; Wicknell Chivayo who hails from Zimbabwe and his new beau are currently on vacation in Miami.”

Chivayo took to his official Instagram account to clarify that he was not dating the famous South African media personality.

“This utterly absurd rumour is therefore nothing more than a BASELESS FALSEHOOD originated by some attention seeking blogger known as @The Instigator on X whose feelings and ego were tormented when I posted my latest purchase of a 2024 Rolls Royce Spectre on social media.

“He found an opportunity to find relevance by fabricating a pathetic story out of desperation for online attention,” wrote Chivayo.

The “young black filthy rich millionaire” explained that he understands that his opulent lifestyle does make him trend online for no reason, but with a reputation to protect he had to put a stop to the “spurious and defamatory controversies”.

Ndamase was previously romantically linked to businessman Leeroy Sidambe, who is separated from his estranged wife and undergoing divorce proceedings. Their relationship was the talk of social media.

Teacher Arraigned for Writing ZIMSEC Exams on Behalf of Students

By A Correspondent| A 32-year-old teacher, Bruce Mugadhuwi, employed at Commercial College in Mutare, found himself before the Mutare Magistrates Court, facing charges of unlawfully writing Zimbabwe School Examination Council (ZIMSEC) exams on behalf of students.

It is the state’s case that on October 16, 2023, Shellington Brown and Mirriam Maposa sat for a ZIMSEC Mathematics examination at Commercial College in Mutare. Allegedly, both students had arranged with Mugadhuwi to write the examination on their behalf.

Following their plan, the students sat for the examination. Subsequently, upon the submission of the answer sheets, Mugadhuwi purportedly swapped the original answer sheets with those he had written for Shellington Brown and Mirriam Maposa.

The illicit activity came to light in January, coinciding with the release of the exam results, when ZIMSEC withheld results for both Shellington Brown and Mirriam Maposa. Following investigations, Mugadhuwi was arrested on March 22, 2024.

Reportedly, he received USD 380 from Shellington Brown and USD 300 from Mirriam Maposa in exchange for his services.

Mugadhuwi was sentenced to pay a fine of USD 150 for his actions.

Mambo Dhuterere ‘Rejects’ Wicknell Chivhayo Car

By Showbiz Reporter- Gospel musician Mambo Dhuterere, real name Darlington Mutseta, has denied requesting a car from Zanu PF supporter Wicknell Chivayo.

Chivayo is on a spree of ‘gifting’ lavish cars to musicians without restraint.

On Monday, March 25, Chivayo presented musician Nicholas “Madzibaba” Zakaria with a brand-new Toyota Fortuner.

In response, Mambo Dhuterere praised Zakaria for maintaining composure even after Chivayo publicly criticized him. Chivayo had accused Zakaria of interfering in his spending decisions by requesting a car. Mambo Dhuterere posted on Facebook:

If we could be humble sa Nicholas Zakaria and Khiama Boys and acknowledge even ndichiti handina kuresva the other person anogona asina kundinzwisisa.

Sir Wicknell netoshi yaitaurwa still choose happy ending ? l need that ability to ignore all negativity and focus…. This one got me,l did celebrate all gifts to the fullest but iyi ine big lesson kwandiri.l wasn’t humble and focus till now.

Nevertheless, certain social media users perceived Mambo Dhuterere’s Monday post as an indirect plea for a car from Chivayo.

In a Facebook post this Tuesday evening, Mambo Dhuterere asserted that it would be inappropriate for him to seek a car from Chivayo.

He cited the kindness he has received from President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his family.

Within the same post, Mambo Dhuterere disclosed that he battled illness for several months.

Additionally, he had substantial interactions with the First Lady and her twin sons, Sean and Collins.

Furthermore, Mambo Dhuterere said he received generous compensation for creating ZANU PF jingles leading up to the August 2023 harmonized elections. He wrote:

Chamisa Shares Vision For Radical Transformation of Zimbabwe

By A Correspondent| Former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has expressed his vision and mandate to radically transform Zimbabwe into a fully developed and advanced modern nation.

In an X posted on Wednesday morning, Chamisa outlined his ambitious goals aimed at fostering a democratic, diverse, and prosperous republic.

“My vision and mandate is to RADICALLY TRANSFORM Zimbabwe into a fully developed and advanced modern nation,” Chamisa tweeted. “This, so that the citizens can live in a democratic and great republic that is more diverse, united, safe, free, just, tolerant, peaceful and sustainably prosperous.”

Chamisa’s declaration comes at a critical juncture in Zimbabwe’s political landscape, as the nation grapples with economic challenges, political polarization, and social unrest. The former opposition leader, known for his vocal criticism of the ruling ZANU-PF party, appears determined to pursue an alternative vision for the country’s future.

In his tweet, Chamisa emphasized the importance of democracy, unity, safety, freedom, justice, tolerance, peace, and sustainable prosperity for all citizens. These principles, he believes, are essential for the advancement and well-being of Zimbabweans.

The tweet has sparked discussions among political analysts and Zimbabwean citizens, with many expressing both support and skepticism regarding Chamisa’s vision. Some view his aspirations as a beacon of hope for a brighter future, while others question the feasibility and practicality of such ambitious goals.

Chamisa’s message also underscores the ongoing debate surrounding Zimbabwe’s governance and development trajectory. As the nation seeks to navigate its way forward, Chamisa’s vision serves as a reminder of the diverse aspirations and expectations of its people.

While Chamisa is no longer the leader of the CCC, his influence within Zimbabwean politics remains significant. His vision for radical transformation could potentially shape the discourse leading up to the next elections and beyond, influencing the agendas of political parties and policymakers alike.

Police To Monitor Easter Prayers

The Zimbabwean government has taken significant steps to mitigate the spread of cholera during the Easter holiday, a period marked by extensive public gatherings, especially in the form of church congregations and religious pilgrimages. Amidst a concerning cholera outbreak with cumulative suspected cases numbering 29,144, these measures are both timely and critical.

Recognizing the heightened risk of disease transmission during large gatherings, the Ministry of Health and Child Care has been proactive in its response. Integrated training programs have been initiated across several provinces, including Midlands, Masvingo, Mashonaland Central, and Mashonaland West. These programs aim to bolster existing healthcare personnel’s capabilities in crucial areas such as case management, surveillance, infection prevention, control, and social mobilisation. Such comprehensive training is indispensable in equipping healthcare workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage and contain the outbreak.

The directive from the Cabinet, as communicated by Dr. Jenfan Muswere, the Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services, underscores the government’s resolve to control the situation. All public gatherings during the Easter holidays are required to obtain prior clearance and will be subjected to supervision by health authorities. This step is not only about ensuring compliance with health guidelines but also about actively monitoring and managing the risk of cholera spread in these congregations.

A particularly notable directive involves the mandatory installation of solar-powered or bush pump boreholes by church leaders, aimed at guaranteeing access to safe water sources. This requirement reflects a strategic approach to tackle one of the primary vectors of cholera transmission: contaminated water.

The targeting of known hotspots with community awareness campaigns, oral rehydration points, and the establishment of cholera treatment camps further exemplifies a targeted response to the outbreak. These actions are crucial in not only treating those affected but also in preventing further cases by ensuring communities are well-informed and have access to essential healthcare services.

Collaboration with religious organizations, such as the partnership with the Apostolic Women Empowerment Trust to train interfaith leaders in Manicaland and Masvingo provinces, highlights the government’s recognition of the influential role of religious leaders in community health initiatives. By engaging these leaders, the government aims to foster a collaborative and collective response to the outbreaks of cholera and polio, leveraging the trust and reach of these community figures to amplify public health messages.

The decision to install solarised water facilities and boreholes, as directed by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, at various sites including the Karuyana Shrine, is a testament to the government’s commitment to ensuring safe water and sanitation facilities. This is particularly crucial in areas where such infrastructure is lacking, thereby reducing the risk of cholera transmission among congregations and the wider community.

The expansion of the outbreak beyond the 17 traditional cholera hotspot districts highlights the urgency and necessity of these measures. By taking a multifaceted approach that combines strict supervision of public gatherings, infrastructure development, community engagement, and capacity building among healthcare workers, the Zimbabwean government aims to curtail the spread of cholera and protect public health during the Easter holidays and beyond.

Zim In Stadia Turmoil

THE Zimbabwe Warriors are set to play their next World Cup qualifiers in June on foreign soil amid revelations that the National Sports Stadium and Rufaro Stadium will not be ready to host international matches.

The stadia crisis is also expected to affect Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos who will represent Zimbabwe in Confederation of African Football (CAF) club competitions.

For the second time, the Zimbabwe Warriors will fulfil their World Cup assignment on foreign soil after the local football mother body (ZIFA) failed to invite CAF inspectors to assess the National Sports and Rufaro stadium on time.

Speaking on the sidelines of a stakeholder engagement in Bulawayo this Sunday, ZIFA Normalisation Committee chairperson, Lincoln Mutasa said they are already working on plan B to host the matches in neighbouring countries.

“We are in a serious crisis given the time frames. We have since started finding an alternative venue and we will inform the nation on the outcome,” said ZIFA Normalisation Committee chairperson, Lincoln Mutasa.

Mutasa said the stadia crisis can only be solved through a multi-stakeholder approach, “Most of the facilities are council owned and given council problems, it will be difficulty to see local authorities give priority to stadium facilities, hence we have advised local teams to reach out to councils and acquire land for stadium construction.”

The crisis is likely to affect Ngezi Platinum Stars, who are scheduled to play in the CAF Champions League and Dynamos, who have CAF Confederation Cup assignments on the horizon.

Zimbabwe played two of their opening World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria at Huye stadium in Rwanda.

Zuma Wins Court Case Against Ramaphosa’s ANC

In a landmark ruling in South Africa’s political landscape, the Electoral Court has dismissed a high-profile application by the African National Congress (ANC) to deregister the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party, associated with former President Jacob Zuma. This decision effectively cements the MK party’s place in South African politics, rejecting claims by the ANC that its registration was unlawful and accusing the ruling party of attempting to manipulate the electoral field.

Judge Lebogang Modiba presided over the case, unequivocally stating that the ANC’s application lacked a legal foundation. “We find there is nothing unlawful about the registration of the MK party by the deputy chief electoral officer,” declared Judge Modiba, further emphasizing that the ANC had missed not one, but two critical opportunities last year to challenge the MK party’s registration.

The ruling not only allows the MK party to continue its political activities unimpeded but also highlights a significant misstep by the ANC, which Judge Modiba criticized for its delay in bringing the case to court. The application was filed in January 2024, despite the deputy chief electoral officer’s decision to register the MK party being made clear back in September 2023. The judge dismissed the ANC’s rationale for the delay as “irrational,” pointing out that the party’s acknowledgment of missing the prescribed period for challenge does not excuse its inaction.

This case has broader implications for South Africa’s electoral integrity and democratic processes, challenging the dominance of the ANC, which has governed the country since the end of apartheid in 1994. The unsuccessful attempt to deregister the MK party — closely tied to Jacob Zuma, a polarizing figure in South African politics — underscores the complex dynamics within the nation’s political arena and the evolving nature of political competition.

The ANC’s failure to deregister the MK party is not just a legal defeat but a public relations blunder, exposing internal divisions and a perceived attempt to sideline political rivals. As South Africa moves toward future elections, the presence of the MK party as a registered political entity promises to introduce new dimensions to the political debate, offering voters a broader spectrum of choices.

The ruling by Judge Modiba is a clear message that attempts to manipulate the electoral process through legal challenges must be grounded in substantial legal arguments and pursued in a timely manner. This decision is a victory for the MK party and a cautionary tale for established political powers, emphasizing the importance of adhering to legal and democratic principles in the pursuit of political objectives.

Uebert Angel Secret Gimmicks Exposed

By A Correspondent

Recent events have sent shockwaves through the religious community as allegations of abuse of power and manipulation tactics have surfaced against Ambassador Uebert Angel.

The controversy, involving individuals like Jay Israel and Mudiwa Hood, paints a troubling picture of intimidation and coercion aimed at fellow church leaders.

The saga took a dramatic turn when Jay Israel allegedly attempted to extort a hefty sum of USD50,000 from Batsirai Java, the brother of renowned preacher Passion Java.

This extortion attempt has strained relations between Passion Java and Uebert Angel, leading to aggressive actions against Batsirai Java, who has refused to endorse Uebert Angel as a spiritual leader.

Batsirai Java, known for his unwavering commitment to preaching the true word of God, has found himself at the center of a web of intimidation and manipulation allegedly orchestrated by Uebert Angel’s camp.

Reports suggest a calculated effort to coerce Batsirai Java into pledging allegiance to Uebert Angel, using threats and extortion as leverage.

The situation escalated further when Jay Israel reportedly visited Batsirai Java’s office in pursuit of the demanded funds, following an alleged break-in at Java’s residence. Subsequently, cyber attacks targeted Java’s social media platforms and website, adding fuel to the already raging controversy.

These revelations have sparked widespread speculation regarding Uebert Angel’s motives and actions, particularly his frantic attempts to secure endorsements from other church leaders like Makandiwa in the aftermath of these scandals.

An anonymous insider has hinted at Uebert Angel’s potential orchestration of these events behind the scenes, utilizing individuals like Jay Israel to execute his agenda while maintaining plausible deniability.

Concerns about Uebert Angel’s abuse of political office have also been raised, with accusations of power flexing and intimidation tactics reminiscent of organized crime operations.

The insider alleges that Uebert Angel’s recent interactions with Vice President Mohadi and his trip to Malawi are aimed at showcasing his control over political figures, positioning himself as a formidable influencer within the government.

These revelations underscore the critical importance of transparency and accountability within religious organizations.

Leaders must uphold ethical standards and integrity in their actions, lest they succumb to the allure of power and manipulation. As the situation continues to unfold, it is imperative for the truth to emerge and for appropriate measures to be taken to address any wrongdoing that may have occurred.

Only through transparency and accountability can the trust and faith of the community be restored.

Macauley Bonne says he is happy to return to the national fold after starting and scoring for the Warriors in their penalty shootout victory over Zambia in the Four-nation tournament on Saturday.

Bonne had last represented Zimbabwe in 2017 during the November international break.

Following his return to the national team, the Cambridge United striker scored his first senior team goal as the Warriors went on to win the match 6-5 on penalties after it had ended 2-2 at the end of ninety minutes.

Speaking to ZIFA Media after the match, Bonne said:

“I am happy to be back and to score goals. We haven’t had much time to gel together, but we are going to do our best to bring the trophy to Zim.”

On the team’s performance, the 28-year-old added: “Tough game today in the conditions here, we fought hard and had to dig deeper to come back with a draw and eventually win the match.”

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will face Kenya on Tuesday in the Four-nation tournament’s final.

Young Warriors In Disappointing Campaign

Zimbabwe U20 side has ended the tri-nation tournament in Malawi without a win after losing 3-1 against Kenya on Friday.

The Young Warriors lost their first game to host Malawi 3-2 on Wednesday.

The performance in Friday’s game, however, was far from satisfactory, with the team failing to find their rhythm for the majority of the game.

Kenya’s Elly Owande caused all sorts of the problems for Zimbabwe in the opening period after hitting a brace inside the half hour mark.

His first goal came as early as in the 7th minute after slotting home from the edge of the box.

The second strike followed in the 27th minute after a quick counter attack.

Zimbabwe’s recovery plans in the second half were thwarted as Kenya extended their lead through Hassan Beja Kitsao in the 68th minute.

Denzel Mapuwa’s late strike gave the Young Warriors a consolation in the game.

Uebert Angel’s USD1200 Charge For ‘Miracle’ Course And Urgent Calls For His Arrest

By Dorrothy Moyo | In this report, we examine the discourse surrounding the announcement by British-Zimbabwean pastor Uebert Angel Mudzanire of an online course on performing miracles, priced at approximately $1200. The announcement has incited a range of reactions from the public, with discussions particularly active on social media platforms such as the DW Africa Facebook page. This analysis will focus on the comments of Facebook users Queen Sandy and Nii Road to dissect public sentiment and the broader implications of such religious offerings in contemporary society.

Uebert Angel charge …

Context of the Announcement

Pastor Uebert Angel Mudzanire, listed among the 20 most influential pastors in 2024, announced an online course designed to teach participants how to perform miracles. The course’s announcement quickly attracted attention due to its cost and the nature of its content, prompting widespread debate about the legitimacy and ethical considerations of selling religious teachings and practices.

Public Reaction

The reaction to the announcement on social media platforms, particularly Facebook, has been a mixture of skepticism, ridicule, and concern. Queen Sandy’s comment, “Our governments need to do something about (Uebert Angel type groups) these churches cause it’s now getting out of hand!! ? ? ? ? ?,” suggests a perception that such practices are becoming increasingly audacious and unchecked. The use of laughter emojis could indicate a disbelief or minimization of the seriousness these types of offerings represent, or perhaps a coping mechanism for the absurdity perceived in selling spiritual miracles.

Nii Road’s response to Queen Sandy, “it’s not funny Sandy, things needs to change, these charlatans should be regulated, pay taxes & prosecuted for offenses,” underscores a more sober and critical perspective on the issue. Nii Road highlights a demand for regulatory oversight, taxation, and legal accountability for religious figures who exploit their influence for financial gain, suggesting a perceived breach of ethical and possibly legal boundaries.

Analysis

The responses from Queen Sandy and Nii Road, though different in tone, both point to a growing public concern over the commercialization of religious practices and the ethical implications of leaders who offer spiritual services for substantial fees. This discussion raises several critical questions:

  1. Regulatory Oversight: The call for government intervention suggests a belief that religious organizations, particularly those engaging in questionable financial practices, should not be exempt from oversight. This perspective advocates for a balance between respecting religious freedom and protecting the public from potential exploitation.
  2. Taxation and Financial Transparency: The demand for taxation reflects a broader discourse on the financial operations of religious organizations. There’s a growing expectation for transparency and accountability, particularly when substantial sums of money are involved.
  3. Ethical Considerations and Social Responsibility: The skepticism and critique of Pastor Uebert Angel’s miracle course underscore a societal expectation for religious leaders to adhere to high ethical standards. This includes the responsibility to not exploit followers’ faith for personal gain.
  4. Cultural and Religious Implications: The debate also touches on deeper issues regarding the role of miracles in contemporary religious practice. It questions the commodification of religious experiences and the authenticity of spiritual leadership that demands financial compensation for divine intervention.

The announcement of Pastor Uebert Angel’s miracle course serves as a focal point for broader concerns regarding the commercialization of religion, the ethical responsibilities of spiritual leaders, and the role of government in regulating such practices. The reactions of individuals such as Queen Sandy and Nii Road highlight a complex web of disbelief, concern, and demand for change that reflects wider societal tensions around faith, commerce, and authenticity in the religious sphere. As these discussions continue to unfold, they will likely spur further debate on the balance between religious freedom, financial ethics, and the social responsibilities of religious leadership.
