There are concerns about the safety of CCC officials following the death of another elected councillor in Zvishavane.
CCC councillor for ward 4, Zvishavane, Cherita Mundoka, died on Tuesday. The cause of her death is yet to be disclosed.
Another CCC councillor for ward 2, Chinhoyi, Patricia Chibaya died mysteriously last week raising fears the Zanu PF regime could be behind suspected elimination of opposition officials.
In a statement on Tuesday CCC said:
“We are saddened to learn of the passing of our change champion and recently elected ward 4 councilor for Zvishavane Town Council, Cherita Mundoka. Despite the unfree, rigged, unfair, and sham electoral conditions, she won the 23 August elections with a wide margin. May her soul rest in peace.”
The party also condemned the incessant persecution of citizens by the Harare regime.
” The regime in Harare persists in persecuting our members. Councilor Chipere from Rusape Ward 1, along with two Polling Agents, has been unjustly arrested on fabricated charges. This ongoing abuse of state institutions must cease. We demand the immediate release of these individuals. “
By A Correspondent | ZimEye | An official representing Douglas Mwonzora’s faction, purportedly aligned with the CCC (Citizens Coalition for Change), has sent a formal letter to the parliament, demanding the recall of several legislators associated with the nation’s popular leader, Nelson Chamisa. This development coincides with an announcement by Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi, who declared his intentions to take punitive actions against Chamisa’s MPs for their absence during President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent parliamentary speech, which was condemned by the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Speaking about the matter, Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi stated yesterday that he had received instructions to penalize MPs affiliated with the CCC. This move raises concerns about the potential political repercussions in Zimbabwe.
Remarkably, this development seems to echo historical patterns, as it appears to be part of a broader strategy by the ruling ZANU PF party. The recall of opposition legislators has been employed as a political tool since November 1980, when Joshua Nkomo’s legislators faced similar challenges, continuing through to 2022 with Nelson Chamisa’s MPs.
Notably, commentator and media lecturer Pedzisai Ruhanya expressed skepticism about the legitimacy of Sengezo Tshabangu, who claims to be the CCC Secretary-General (SG). Ruhanya alleged that Tshabangu had written to the ZANU PF Speaker of Parliament and the Local Government Minister, purporting to recall CCC MPs and councillors. Ruhanya asserted that the CCC does not have such a post of SG, insinuating that ZANU PF might be resorting to familiar tactics for political maneuvering. He even displayed the letter in question, raising doubts about its authenticity.
This recent controversy evokes memories of 2019 when Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda faced intense scrutiny. During that time, Simba Chikanza conducted a live, on-camera interview with Mudenda in Belgrade, Serbia, where it was revealed that Mudenda had withdrawn allowances from Nelson Chamisa’s legislators as a punitive measure for walking out during Emmerson Mnangagwa’s speech. This action subsequently led to an indictment for war crimes against Mudenda in Serbia, rendering him unable to return to that country.
As this story unfolds, Zimbabweans are left to ponder the implications of these political maneuvers and their potential impact on the nation’s political landscape. The recall of MPs, the authenticity of documents, and international repercussions loom large as Zimbabwe grapples with this latest chapter in its complex political history.

A cholera outbreak has hit Harare with five confirmed cases reported so far, health authorities have revealed.
The waterborne disease, which spreads through drinking water or eating food contaminated with the cholera bacterium which causes severe diarrhoea and vomiting, is now endemic in the country.
In a notice, the Harare City Council said three of the cases were linked to Buhera where there was a cholera outbreak last week, while two other cases were contracted from local sources.
“The city would like to inform residents that it has now five confirmed cholera cases in Hopely Zone 5, Stoneridge, Southlands, Granary and Adbernie Mbare. We urge all residents in these affected areas and greater Harare to take necessary precautions to avoid contracting cholera,” council said.
Deputy mayor Kudzai Kadzombe told NewsDay that the council was taking steps to contain the outbreak.
“As a council we are working on increasing water production and our Beatrice Infectious Hospital is actually ready for any case that can arise. We have our employees on standby waiting for any case,” Kadzombe said.
Community Working Group on Health executive director Itai Rusike said recurrent cholera outbreaks were concerning
“Zimbabwe needs to strengthen the primary health care principles and the laws regarding public health which explicitly state that communities have a big role to play in public health, but they need an enabling environment for them to do so effectively,” Rusike said.
Zimbabwe Nurses Association president Enock Dongo urged locals to exercise caution in order to stop the disease from spreading.
“This is a very preventable disease and it can be fatal if not treated. People should practise hygiene. It’s all about washing hands and drinking clean water,” Dongo said.
Meanwhile, the Health and Child Care ministry has banned church camp meetings, open markets, communal beer gatherings among other measures to curb the spread of cholera in Zaka, Masvingo.
The 2008 cholera outbreak, which started in Harare and later spread into neighbouring countries, was the deadliest — killing more than 4 000 people and affecting over 100 000 others.
You guys clearly state that if you park your car and there is no parking Marshall readily available to hand your money , do not leave your car unattended to go and look for the Marshall.
If you want to look for a Marshall leave someone inside the car who is also going to be available to pay given the Marshall comes from a different direction.
How is it that my car was clamped and I had to pay a parking ticket for $57. Because the guys in the blue uniform got to my car while my daughter was waiting for the attendant (and when I say daughter I mean a 27 year old ) with full reasoning capacity.
The guys who clamp arrives and she said “oh here is my money for parking” and he said “ handitambire mari ini ndinongosunga mota” then he says to his counterpart Sunga mota tiende.
I walk up and down looking for them trying to understand what we did wrong. Because we were waiting to pay and we had not been there for 5 minutes.
I find his female counterparts and they call him and ask what happened and he says “ vanga vakarara mumota”
I go to the customer service and they say – well the guys in blue don’t accept money
Where is the justice in this system ?
I have questions.
If the person who was in the car was truly sleeping – how was she able to identify the two people that clamped the car and even explain the direction they were coming from , narrate the whole conversation that happened and still be able to say and when they were done they went in that direction ?
How do you identify more than 5 people in customer service saying your Marshall’s refused to take our money and clamped us ?
Are we wrong for doing what you asked us to do ? Don’t leave the car until you’ve paid for parking ?
If it is possible for the Marshalls that take payment to call the ones that clamp why does it become a problem to call the officer who takes a payment instead of clamping me as if I have refused to pay ?
If you say the only other payment method I can use if the Marshall is not there as stated by your customer service personnel (I have the names I will find where I wrote them down and come back here ) what if my network is not working or I don’t have ecocash to pay ?
To wait for the Marshall means I respect the law that comes with the service you provide.
But it becomes unfair when you believe your Marshall’s are never wrong and if they clamp they are right.
Why would thousands of people come here and complain about the same thing.
Being clamped yet you haven’t refused to pay parking yet they knew they were not guilty.
This is beyond unfair, not only to me but the thousands of other people that are working to try and make ends meet.
Your system literally has no respect or mercy for your clients.
That is why your Marshall’s just lie e.g. they were sleeping.
It’s unfair.
Be clear about your service.
Highlight all the terms and conditions of everything that takes place under what circumstances so that we know exactly what is happening.
Because your rules or laws whatever you want to call them start to contradict each other in a quest to take money from innocent citizens.
Sorry for your experience. Totally unfair. If you check, those who clamp vehicles outnumber the cashiers by roughly 5:1 ratio. The other day I overheard them discussing how meeting their clamping revenue targets is very hard if they only stick to far clamping. That one is a rotten system. I now only enter cbd with vehicle when it’s extremely necessary.

By A Correspondent- Nyasha Chibvuri (39) dropped to tears as she narrated the devastating effects of the Cyclone Idai disaster which ravaged Zimbabwe’s Eastern Highlands four years ago, leaving her and other villagers devastated.
Their only source of income, a fishpond at the heart of the village was not spared by the floods that also claimed the lives of hundreds of villagers and livestock, with thousands also displaced.
“It was a tough time for us, we thought that was the end of us, we were left with nothing,” she recalled.
Despite the traumatic experience, Chibvuri who is now the chairperson of Mhandarume Irrigation Scheme in Chimanimani district, is relieved that the rehabilitation of village fishponds and nutritional gardens have come at the right time for her community.
Today, she leads a group of 71 horticultural farmers who are rehabilitating the irrigation scheme with financial support from United States Agency for International Development through Practical Action.
“We can’t fully explain the excitement among the members because fish is a popular delicacy here and a good source of protein for our families. We had suffered a huge setback because of the destruction to our garden and fishponds but now we have revived our source of food,” she said.
Practical Action supported the group by rehabilitating nine fishponds and irrigation canals that were destroyed by Cyclone Idai-induced floods.
The fishpond rehabilitation initiative is accompanied by stocking them with 10 000 Mozambique Tipalia fingerlings, while the villagers are also supplied with the feed. Each of the eight fishponds has 1 000 fingerlings, while the breeding ponds are stocked with 2 000 fingerlings.
To ensure sustainability of the project, farmers under the scheme have received training on fisheries and aquaculture.
“By December this year, at least a tonne of fish would have been delivered to the market. The thought of being able to feed my four children with improved nutrients, seeing them in decent clothing and being able to pay their school fees is a huge relief,” Chibvuri told NewsDay.
The fishponds had been idle for about four years and had turned into hibernation nests for pests which were now causing havoc in the villagers’ gardens.
The fishpond and nutrition garden rehabilitation programme involved laying new dam liners and re-establishment of irrigation pipes which were swept away during the cyclone.
“After the cyclone, the government reinstalled the irrigation pipeline, but there was no reinforcement along the riverbed. The uneven nature of the terrain reduced the water flow from the river until Practical Action assisted us with blasting of rocks to create a sloping gradient for the pipeline. The flow of water into the irrigation scheme and fishponds has significantly improved. The pipeline has been reinforced and secured with deformed bars drilled into granite rock. Now we are set for production,” added Chibvuri.
She and other villagers are optimistic that the future of the project is now safe.
They are all eager to revive their fish selling business in a few months’ time.
Practical Action field officer John Muusha said fish has provided a good source of protein-rich food for family consumption, while villagers earned extra income from fish sales.
“Unemployed people get working opportunities and eke a living out of fish farming,” said Muusha.
“Fish farming has also helped the proper utilisation of available water resources in the community. Fish is also easier to keep compared to other animals as it reduces environmental disturbance in the community. It also puts less stress on the ecosystem and equally reduces human interference. Fish farming is going to increase the community income and their savings.”
The Resilience Building for Chimanimani Communities project aims to bring back the resilience of communities affected by flooding and drought.
The project is benefitting more than 30 000 people in selected wards of Chimanimani district.
Although she is still nursing emotional wounds caused by the Cyclone Idai-induced floods, the rehabilitation of Mhandarume Irrigation Scheme has brought smiles on the faces of Chibvuri and other villagers in Chimanimani.
By A Correspondent| In a scathing rebuke, Member of Parliament Temba Mliswa condemned the decision of CCC MPs to boycott today’s State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by President Mnangagwa.
Mliswa characterized the move as “another shortsighted and theatrical tantrum,” asserting that it achieves nothing and only serves as an “unwholesome genuflection to the spirit of activism.”
He underscored that such actions betray the CCC’s obligation to their constituents, who anticipate meaningful work and representation.
“It’s staggering how the irony of the whole move is escaping them. The MPs are a product of the same process that produced President Mnangagwa as a winner. If they were sincere in their claims against the elections, they should have refused to be sworn in first as MPs!
“This nihilistic activism that wants to drag everyone& everything into the mud unless and until they get what they want is anti-development and unprogressive. Either you accept the wins& losses or you dump both the wins and the losses. You can’t be nitpicking at your convenience,” said Mliswa.
CCC legislators yesterday boycotted the State of the Nation Address (SONA) citing the 23 August elections which they said was a sham process.
By A Correspondent- Three daring Harare car dealers, who allegedly smuggled posh vehicles and fixed them with stolen registration plates from the Office of the President and Cabinet’s (OPC) counter intelligence unit before selling them to unsuspecting clients, yesterday appeared before magistrate Donald Ndirowei facing fraud charges.
Edmore Manyonda, a director at Geoscape Properties, Shepherd Hove and Simbarashe Blessing Matinyarare were remanded in custody to today for bail hearing.
According to court papers, sometime in May, Manyonda smuggled three motor vehicles, a Ford Ranger Supertrak, Ford Ranger Stormtrek and KIA truck.
It is said in an effort to conceal the illicit deal, Hove and Matinyarare supplied Manyonda with four vehicle registration number plates belonging to the OPC’s counter intelligence unit.
It is alleged that when Hove and Matinyarare supplied the registration plates, they knew that the vehicles were not entitled to such registration plates.
Manyonda then fixed the stolen registration number plates on the smuggled vehicles.
The three vehicles were recovered together with the said registration plates.
The State alleges that as a result of the fraud, the government was prejudiced of approximately US$133 500 in potential revenue from import duty.-Newsday

By A Correspondent- Tension is rising among former Zipra liberation war collaborators who were vetted in 2021 for their role in the country’s liberation war, but are yet to receive their promised monthly payouts.
The unarmed combatants who provided logistical information and other assistance to armed liberation war fighters battling former Rhodesian Prime Minister Ian Smith’s regime have, since the vetting process, not received any monthly pay-outs unlike their counterparts.
In separate interviews, non-combatant cadres said they were now frustrated over government’s unfulfilled promises.
“The situation is really worrying because now we don’t know what to do. The government made false promises because they wanted our votes and now that we are in the post-election period, they have gone quiet, they are not communicating with us and that is not good,” said a disgruntled non-combatants who refused to be named.
Zipra Veterans Association secretary-general Petros Sibanda confirmed that a number of non-combatant cadres were yet to receive their payments.
“The government has not honoured the promises that it made. We were hoping now that we are done with the elections something would happen, but we have not seen anything, people still haven’t received their dues,” Sibanda said.
“It is not only non-combatants that haven’t received their dues, we also have a lot of war collaborators and also detainees who still haven’t received their dues.”-newsday
By Farai D Hove | The controversial 35-year-old ZANU PF propagandist, Passion Java, has seemingly prophesied his own demise. Java, who has recently been embroiled in a series of controversies, including threats against national figures, is now at the center of another storm.
Just four days ago, Passion Java was urged to seek prayers for his life after he made threatening remarks against CCC President Nelson Chamisa, journalist Simba Chikanza, and, most notably, the Bulawayo-based preacher, Ian Ndlovu, who had called for prayers on his behalf.
Within 24 hours of his latest public outburst, Passion Java took to social media to announce yet another provocative statement, this time targeting Nelson Chamisa. He stated that if he were to die, it would be Nelson Chamisa who would be buried. However, the threat has sparked controversy due to its ambiguous translation, as some have interpreted it to mean that Passion Java will be buried upon his death.
“Why is no one looking at the translation?” questioned one Facebook user, as the printed text read, “if I die, I will be buried. Be blessed.”
This development unfolds amid a public feud between Passion Java and singer Baba Harare, whom he mocked for allegedly using AI software to create artwork for his latest album. During a live program last week, Java taunted, “But Baba Harare told you to download the Medorange App, what’s taking you time to get your medication?”
Passion Java gained notoriety through his association with religion and quickly ascended to the upper echelons of ZANU PF, much to the dismay of senior war veterans who argue that he is undeserving. Java is known for his frequent posts of ZANU PF and pro-Mnangagwa propaganda, often engaging in satirical and mocking content against perceived enemies on social media.
The cryptic statement by Passion Java has left many puzzled, and it remains to be seen whether this is a genuine prophecy or another provocative stunt in his ongoing controversies.

More must be done in areas of under performance to achieve equitable development. Our cadres should be disciplined. The Central Committee should lead by government. Lets not listen to negative narratives from the opposition, instead lets listen to our people.
We continue to enjoy regional and international support. We used UNGA to reiterate our calls for the removal of sanctions and we appreciate countries who stood by us on this position. We will continue to commemorate our anti sanctions day on 25 October this year. I thank you for your commitment to build our country stone by stone brick by brick. THE Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has revoked licences and permits for 10 pharmaceutical firms that have been illegally trading in counterfeit and unregistered substances which are fueling rampant drug abuse in the country.
Although government through the MCAZ banned the sale and use of unregistered medicines like Bronclear cough syrup while controlling the sale of syrups which contain codeine, the medicines have flooded the streets, prompting the regulatory body to launch an investigation.
“MCAZ‘s primary responsibility is to regulate medicines and medical devices in Zimbabwe. Through our robust regulatory framework, we ensure that only safe, effective and quality medicines are available on the market.
“By doing so, we aim to prevent the circulation of counterfeit drugs and unregistered substances that can contribute to drug abuse. In this regard the authority has revoked six permits for wholesale dealers and cancelled four persons’ licences who were promoting abuse of Histalix, a locally produced cough mixture containing codeine by illegally selling it at Mbare and places like Chitungwiza and others were exporting to Zambia and Mozambique,” said MCAZ Head Licencing and Enforcement Division, Mrs Caroline Dandira-Samatanga.
The authority has also put in place mechanisms to control availability of codeine-containing medicines through ensuring they are only dispensed to patients with valid prescriptions.
This year alone a total of 17 pharmacies have had their licences revoked as government intensifies the fight to curb drug abuse.
The pharmacies include Bestpharm Pharmaceuticals, Adept Pharmaceuticals, Maturity Pharmaceuticals, Action 24 Medical Suppliers and Medserve Pharmacy, among others.
Statement released by the Citizens Coalition for Change
NO TO ANOTHER 5 YEARS OF LOOTING:
The recent establishment of the Mutapa Investment Fund by the Harare regime warrants condemnation from all citizens.
This fund was not created to benefit the country’s economy or its citizens; instead, it serves as another scheme for looting that provides personal benefits to Mr. Mnangagwa, his relatives, and their close associates.
It is alarming to note that over 20 state-owned enterprises (SOEs) are now under the control of this illegal and fraudulent Investment Fund.
And these SOEs will not be subjected to the regulations outlined in the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act. It is critical that we voice our disapproval and advocate for fresh elections to prevent further misuse of power. #NotAnother5Years #FreshElectionsZW

A commonly asked question is: What is a 2 storey house? A two story home is a residential building that has two floors. The second floor is usually used for the bedrooms and the ground floor serves as an entrance hall, living room and dining area. A one story house on the other hand is a residential building with only one floor with all rooms on the same level.

What does upside down living mean in a 2 storey house ?
Upside down living is a concept that is gaining popularity in architecture and design.
The concept of upside down living is to live on the second floor and sleep on the first. If your property has a view, placing the living area on the second storey will maximise that view and unleash its full potential.
This type of living is perfect for those who are downsizing or have a small family. The second floor can include a home office, guest suite, or even a kids’ playroom.
Take a look at some of our upside down living home designs.
What are the benefits of a double story home ?
A double story home has many benefits. It gives you more space and more privacy, as you can live on one level and sleep on another. You also have the luxury of having a view from the second floor.
Guests might be able to stay in a separate area and have their own living area, which may be more comfortable for them.
Additionally, the homeowner can enjoy views from the second floor, which may be an appealing aspect of this type of home.
What are the disadvantages of a 2 storey house ?
A 2 storey house is a great option for those who are looking to maximise the use of their land. But there are some disadvantages that you should be aware of before making a decision.
The first disadvantage is that it can be difficult to access the upper floor. This means that one needs to climb stairs, which can be a problem for those who have mobility issues, children or pets.
The second disadvantage is structural limitations. Building a 2 storey house takes longer and it’s more expensive than building a single-storey house because of the additional materials needed for support and the extra labour involved in construction.
How much does a two storey home cost ?
The cost of a two story house depends on the size and location.
The average two story home varies , it really depends on the size and intricacy of the design and the amount of money you will spend on the fixtures and finishes.
It also depends on the block of land. If it is a flat block, with easy access for trades and materials, it will be cheaper to build than a sloping block with difficult access.
We can draw plans and BOQ for your two storey homes and we build your Double storey with an affordable prices.

CHINHOYI – In a shocking turn of events, suspected government agents descended upon the Old Citua Farm in Chinhoyi, where they commenced the demolition of houses belonging to elderly men and women. Their claim: these individuals were illegal occupants on the property once owned by losing candidate Phillip Chiyangwa.
While no comment was immediately forthcoming from Chiyangwa, the prominent businessman is widely remembered in the area for his generous gestures, such as distributing bikes during ZANU PF’s primary polls. Unfortunately, these efforts failed to secure a victory for him in past elections.
This development comes just one month after ZANU PF suffered a significant defeat to Nelson Chamisa’s CCC party in the region.
Local publication Chinhoyi TV reported the incident in Shona, stating: “Mapurisa aparadza dzimba dzemhuri mazana maviri paOld Citrua Farm muno mu Chinhoyi achiti vakazvigadza zvisiri pamutemo papurazi ramuzvinabhizimisi VaPhilip Chiyangwa. Vanongokudai nguva yema votes chete.”
The demolition of homes on the Old Citua Farm raises questions about property rights and the treatment of elderly occupants, prompting concerns within the local community. Authorities are expected to provide further details on the incident in the coming days.

Sylvester Mabuda, affectionately known as Sly, met an untimely demise after a horrifying incident on the N4 Highway in Diepsloot, north of Johannesburg. Sly had just celebrated his 30th birthday over the weekend, marking the occasion with friends at the VVIP section of the Jah Prayzah show at Jacaranda Lounge.
During the event, Sly, full of life and humor, jokingly asked a reporter to capture a picture to commemorate his birthday for publication in H-Metro. He was in the company of renowned promoter Felistas Chizororo of CC Promotions. Little did anyone suspect that this would be the last photo of the beloved socialite.
After the Jah Prayzah show, around 1 am, Sly and his best friend, Larry Mushope, embarked on their journey back home to Pretoria. However, tragedy struck when they encountered a problem with their rear tire, leaving them stranded on the highway.
Larry Mushope recalled the harrowing moment: “When we left, there was nothing amiss, we had traveled for about 20 kilometers when we felt that there was a problem with the rear tire. We had to stop as the car was now actually moving on the rim. We called for help from some of our friends, and in a flash, three men appeared from the dark.”
These assailants were armed with broken bottles, guns, and knives. Two of them violently targeted Sly, while another approached Larry. The attackers assaulted them severely, robbed them of their belongings, and disappeared into the darkness of the bushes.
Larry, dazed and injured, sought help from a nearby complex and returned with a security guard. Tragically, when they reached the car, Sly had succumbed to his injuries.
The area where this horrific incident occurred has gained notoriety for its high crime rate, with reports of thugs using metal spikes to deflate car tires before launching attacks on motorists. It’s the same location where Zimbabwean Elvis Nyathi met a gruesome end in a xenophobic attack last year.
Police and forensic experts are currently investigating the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that Sly may have died from a stab wound or gunshot wound, but a post-mortem examination is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
Sly’s passing has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, as he was known for his unwavering support for artists from Zimbabwe and beyond. He leaves behind two children, and his family is already in Pretoria, making funeral arrangements to bid their final farewell to the beloved socialite.H Metro
By- Harare Criminal Investigations Department Homicide boss Alexander Jachi was attacked by four criminals at the weekend, leaving him battling for his life.
Jachi is hospitalised after the brutal attack. Despite Jachi shooting one of the suspects, in the leg in self defence, they still attacked him and left him for dead. The four suspects – Munyaradzi Chatonzwa, Sydney Rande, Mark Tatenda Chingombe and Simbarashe Steven Ota – appeared before Harare regional magistrate Donald Ndirowei. The court heard that on September 30, Jachi was driving a gold Toyota Fortuner on his way home to Chitungwiza from Highfield. He was driving along Masotsha Ndlovu Way. As he got closer to Mbuya Dorcas Hospital, he slowed down as he prepared to turn into Seke Road, That’s when he spotted a silver VW polo and a red Honda Fit trailing behind him. The red car blocked his way and he failed to turn prompting him to continue driving along Masotsha Ndlovu Way. He then turned left into Seke Road towards the City Centre intending to make a U-turn back to Chitungwiza and the two vehicles continued following him. It is the State’s case that Jachi sensed danger and drove to Jongwe Corner for safety. And, as soon as he parked his car, Chatonzwa and Rande got out of their car and charged towards the top cop. Chatonzwa threatened him with unspecified action while charging towards him. Jachi then fired one warning shot into the air, from a 9mm Police service Taurus pistol, to scare Chatonzwa away, but he continued advancing towards him. This prompted Jachi to shoot Chatonzwa once on his left leg but, instead of withdrawing, he advanced further and struck Jachi with an unknown object. The cop fell down. Chatonzwa’s accomplices joined in and started assaulting the top cop until he lost consciousness while bleeding profusely. Witnesses attempted to save Jachi but they were also attacked by the assailants. They went on to search Jachi and took his wallet, containing US$140, and his identity cards. They also stole his pistol and deflated his tyres. Jachi’s particulars were recovered from Chatonzwa. The service pistol is yet to be recovered. The four are facing attempted murder, theft of a firearm and malicious damage to property charges. H Metro
By James Gwati- As the opposition CCC presses for a re-run of the stolen 23 August elections, more Zanu Pf Bosses have joined the talk.
This time, it’s the party’s Secretary for Finance, Patrick Chinamasa, who said Nelson Chamisa should forget about that eventuality.
Chinamasa also said there will not be a Government of National Unity (GNU) or Transitional Authority. He posted on X:
I ask the Triple C Class and its Prefect, Nelson Chamisa, to repeat after me the following:
a) that 23 August 2023 was free, fair, transparent, and credible;
b) that there will be no re-run of the elections;
c) that there will be no GNU (Government of National Unity);
d) that there will be no so-called Transitional Authority (whatever that may mean);
e) that Zimbabwe, under ZANU-PF’s watch, will never be a banana republic;
f) that ZANU-PF will forever say “NO” to neocolonialism and hegemonism and an emphatic “NO” to subjugation by sanctions-imposing Western countries…
Chamisa and CCC “rejected” the 23 August 2023 election results citing alleged rigging and have reportedly been engaging some SADC heads of state to push for fresh polls.
The opposition party has been pushing for a SADC-facilitated national dialogue that will result in the formation of a Transitional Authority to implement electoral reforms that will culminate in the holding of credible elections.
By Dorrothy Moyo | Emmerson Mnangagwa, delivered a speech to a symbolically “empty’ parliament on October 3rd, 2023. The majority of MPs from the nation’s most popular leader, Nelson Chamisa’s opposition party had deserted the chamber, leaving Mnangagwa to speak to himself and a handful of his allies, widely held as “zombie legislators.”
The development is not the first time that ZANU PF’s one-man-ruler, Mnangagwa has found himself isolated. In September, he was inaugurated as President in a ceremony that was attended by only a handful of African heads of states.
The SADC Electoral Observers found Mnangagwa’s re-election to be from a poll that fell short of SADC principles and guidelines.
Mnangagwa’s speech focused on the state of the economy and the government’s plans for the future. He claimed that the economy was on an upward trajectory and that the country was now food self-sufficient. He also spoke of the government’s plans to industrialize the economy and modernize the infrastructure.
However, Mnangagwa’s speech was met with skepticism by many Zimbabweans. The country has been in a state of economic crisis for many years, and there is little evidence to suggest that things are improving. Additionally, Mnangagwa’s government has been accused of corruption and human rights abuses.
The fact that Mnangagwa delivered his speech to an empty parliament is a sign of the growing unpopularity of his government. It is also a sign that the country is deeply divided along political lines.
The following was Mnangagwa’s lengthy speech:
STATE OF THE NATION ADDRESS
BY
THE PRESIDENT, HIS EXCELLENCY,
DR. E. D. MNANGAGWA
AT
THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE FIRST SESSION
OF THE TENTH
PARLIAMENT OF ZIMBABWE
NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDING
3 OCTOBER 2023
THE PRESIDENT AND
COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ZIMBABWE
DEFENCE FORCES, HIS EXCELLENCY
COMRADE DR. EMMERSON DAMBUDZO MNANGAGWA
Vice President, Hon. Gen. (Rtd.) Dr. C. G. D. N.
Chiwenga;
Vice President, Hon. Col. (Rtd.) K. C. D. Mohadi;
Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Advocate J. F. N. Mudenda;
President of the Senate, Hon. M. M. Chinomona;
Chief Justice, Hon. L. Malaba;
Honourable Ministers of Government;
President of the Chief’s Council, Chief M. Khumalo, and other Traditional Leaders here present;
Honourable Members of Parliament and the Senate;
Senior Government Officials;
Service Chiefs;
Fellow Zimbabweans here at home and in the Diaspora;
Ladies and Gentlemen;
Comrades and Friends.
It is my singular honour to address this August House as we open the First Session of the Tenth Parliament of Zimbabwe. The Session comes shortly after we successfully conducted our credible, free, fair and peaceful Harmonised General Elections, in accordance with our democratic traditions and practices.
Honourable Members of Parliament, may I take this opportunity to congratulate you all for having secured the mandate to serve the people of our great motherland, Zimbabwe, in your respective constituencies for the next five years.
I challenge you to accelerate the completion of the matters outstanding from the legislative agenda of the Ninth Parliament. Much work lies ahead.
As you are aware, our economy has been on an upward trajectory, recording positive growth rates across sectors, notwithstanding the illegal sanctions imposed on us by our detractors.
The robust measures put in place by Government to enhance and guarantee agricultural productivity, including irrigation development and climate-proofing, saw us realise national food security. Zimbabwe is now wheat self sufficient. The Second Republic has begun the drilling of 35 000 boreholes and establishing Village Agro-Business Units. This is set to consolidate national agriculture productivity and food self sufficiency.
Our mining sector, grew from US$2.8 billion in 2017 to the present US$12 billion, and is propelling socioeconomic development and growth. To enhance the participation of small-scale and artisanal miners, Government established the US$10 million Mining Industry Loan Fund, while the rolling out of more gold centres will be prioritised.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
The Second Republic will increase resources disbursed towards the Devolution and Decentralisation
Programme. Priority is being given to projects which improve access and quality of education, health, roads, water and sanitation.
My Administration is committed to industrialising and modernising the economy as well as transforming our infrastructure in order to improve incomes and the livelihoods of our citizens.
Power supply has significantly improved following the commissioning of Hwange Power Station Units 7 and 8, while arrangements have been made to guarantee stable supply from existing power stations. Deliberate investments are ongoing for increased power generation capacity, including removing entry barriers for Independent Power Producers.
To enhance connectivity, we continue to upgrade the road network across the country through domestic resources.
Similar initiatives are being implemented with regards to rail infrastructure, with focus on recapitalisation, rehabilitation and refurbishment.
The tourism sector is on a growth trajectory, registering an increase of 62% in international tourist arrivals during the first half of 2023.
My Government continues to accelerate implementation of the Heritage Based Education 5.0 Model, aimed at producing goods and services for our country’s socio-economic needs. This Science, Technology and Innovation thrust has scaled up science-based education from the primary level up to institutions of higher education. More of our young talented boys and girls are registering patents and running viable start-ups.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
The fiscal consolidation measures and reforms have ensured positive fiscal outcomes that are critical for budget sustainability and lasting macro-economic stability. Complementary fiscal and monetary policies have positively impacted the attainment of the prevailing stable macro-economic environment.
Going forward, the Second Republic remains resolute in implementing measures that ensure confidence in our domestic currency.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
May I now turn to the legislative agenda which must occupy the Parliamentary schedule during this first Session of the Tenth Parliament.
The Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill; Public Finance Management Amendment Bill; Medical
Services Amendment Bill; Insurance Bill and the Private Voluntary Organisation Bill, which were outstanding from the Ninth Parliament, must be concluded during the First Session of this Parliament.
Obsolete laws such as the Fredrick Clayton Trust Act; the Service of Documents Act; Settled Estates Leasing Act and the War Marriages Validation Act should be repealed under the Repeal of Laws (General Amendment) Bill.
New Bills which will constitute the business of the First Session include the Persons with Disabilities Bill and the Administration of Estates Amendment Bill.
The Legal Practitioners (Amendment) Bill, 2023 seeks to streamline the registration process for foreign legal practitioners. Also on the agenda will be the Inheritance and Succession Laws (General Amendment) Bill, 2023, which aligns inheritance and succession laws to the Constitution and international best practice.
To give impetus to matters related to climate change adaptation and resilience, the Tenth Parliament is called upon to review the Water Act; the Zimbabwe National Water Authority Act and the Plant Breeders Act.
The much-anticipated Climate Change Bill seeking to regulate greenhouse gas emissions and facilitate low carbon development technologies should be thoroughly debated towards strengthening appropriate institutions and funding mechanisms.
The Parks and Wildlife Act is being amended whilst a Human Wildlife Conflict Relief Fund is being set up to offer monetary benefits to victims of human wildlife conflict in communities.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
The Second Republic aims to fully exploit, value add and beneficiate the country’s abundant natural resources.
In this regard, as industrialisation gathers momentum, Parliament must expedite the consideration of the
Competition Amendment Bill; Economic Empowerment Bill; Standards Bill; Sugar Production Amendment Bill and the Technical Regulations Bill. Ratification will also be required in respect of the SADC Protocol on Industry and the Inter-African Coffee Agreement.
Through the Electronic Transactions and Electronic Commerce Bill, Parliament will assist in the establishment of a framework promoting fair, accessible, responsible and sustainable online transactions. The long outstanding Postal and Telecommunications Amendment Bill must be concluded.
Government is committed to providing modern and affordable human settlements for all Zimbabweans. In this regard, the Zimbabwe Construction Contractors Council Bill seeks to establish an authority that will bring sanity in the built environment. Parliament is expected to consider the alignment of the Housing Standards Control Act and the Housing and Buildings Act.
Government has made strides towards decentralisation of service delivery, including deployment of medical specialists to provincial and district hospitals. The Medical Aid Societies Regulatory Authority, Health Professions Act; Family Planning Council Act and the Medicines and Allied Substances Control Act will be brought before this August House.
The enactment of the National Health Insurance Bill must be expedited to accelerate the establishment of the National Health Insurance Scheme towards Universal Health Coverage.
The Ministry of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare is expected to bring the National Productivity Institute Bill; Pensions Amendment Bill; Occupational Safety and Health Amendment Bill as well as the Human Resources Practitioners Bill for consideration.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
Government is deeply concerned about the increase in drug and substance abuse, especially among the youth. Measures to tame the scourge by strengthening relevant institutions for effective coordination and programming of activities, will be instituted.
Over and above this, Government is developing the National Youth Bill, which will be considered during this Session. The Bill will provide for mechanisms to facilitate mainstreaming of the youth in social, economic and political spaces, as well as the sustenance of Vocational Training Centres as hubs for local community development. I challenge the private sector to play a part in support of our ongoing initiatives for youth development and empowerment.
Meanwhile, women play a critical role in nation building and their contribution to economic growth should never be overlooked.
Equally, viable and profitable Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises have a far reaching impact on our economy as a whole.
The Small and Medium Enterprises Act will be reviewed. Additionally, Parliament is expected to approve the Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies Bill to provide for the administration and management of Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies.
The mainstreaming of Community Radio Stations attests to the Second Republic’s commitment towards accelerating media reforms. In an endeavour to further open up the airwaves, the Broadcasting Services Amendment Bill should be finalised and amendments to the Zimbabwe Media Commission Act passed.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
Sport is integral to job creation as well as the promotion of healthy lifestyles. In this regard, the Second Republic is currently developing the Sport, Leisure and Recreation Bill to create an enabling environment for sport and recreation delivery. Through the Sports Integrity Bill, Parliament is expected to assist in the creation of a regulated and fair sporting environment.
Parliament should also consider amending the Lotteries and Gaming Act for the purpose of its alignment to the Constitution and the incorporation of corporate governance measures, as provided for in the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
Our political independence came about through the support and solidarity of progressive nations in the region and beyond. Hence, the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Act will be amended to include Botswana as one of the countries that had transit camps during our Liberation Struggle. “Non-Combatant Cadre” will be redefined to acknowledge those who played a part in the Struggle, under this category.
Similarly, the National Heroes Act will be amended to redefine categories of heroes, namely: National Hero; Liberation War Hero; and Liberation Hero. Amendments to the War Victims Compensation Act will now include recommendations from the Chidyausiku Commission of Inquiry Report.
As Zimbabwe strengthens its cooperation with the international community, the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which seeks to complement the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, is expected to be tabled for ratification. Furthermore, radiation safety will be strengthened through the Radiation Protection Amendment Bill.
Biological weapons, which were used by the minority racist white settler regime during our Liberation Struggle, harmed both combatants and civilians alike. The Biological Warfare Bill will criminalise the use of such weapons by giving effect to the Convention on Biological Warfare.
To date, Government has launched a National Plan of Action against Trafficking in Persons. To operationalise the Plan, this August House must amend the Trafficking in Persons Act.
Other pending amendments include those that relate to the Immigration Act; Citizenship of Zimbabwe Act; National Archives of Zimbabwe Act; Private Investigators and Security Guards (Control) Act; Official Secrets Act; Unlawful Organisations Act; Censorship and Entertainments Control Act and the Births and Deaths Registration Act.
Mr. Speaker Sir, Madame President;
In concluding my address, I wish to commend both the National Assembly and Senate for championing the diligent discharge of business in the last Parliament.
Let me once again take this opportunity to urge all Parliamentarians to wholeheartedly participate in the enactment of laws that will improve the quality of life of our people. ‘Nyika inovakwa inotongwa inonamatigwa nevene vayo, Ilizwe lakhiwa, libuswe, likhulekelwe ngabanikazi balo’.
This August House should ensure that law is an instrument for development. Further, Parliament is encouraged to be an institution of peace building, hope, national development and the entrenchment of constitutionalism and deepening democratic practices in our country. In all our activities, let us safeguard our values and traditions as the unique people of Zimbabwe.
With continued unity of purpose, we can accelerate our ongoing quest to build, modernise and industrialise our great motherland, Zimbabwe. This weighty obligation is on our shoulders. We must deliver and lift more of our people out of poverty and into prosperity.
With these remarks it in my distinct honour and privilege to wish the First Session of the Tenth Parliament of Zimbabwe success and hereby declare the First Session of the Tenth Parliament of Zimbabwe officially open.
God bless you.
God bless Zimbabwe.
I thank you.

Zimbabwe’s Sovereign Wealth Fund: What Mr Mnangagwa has done & why you must be worried
October 2nd, 2023
Introduction Historical accounts of the decline and collapse of the Mutapa State offer a cautionary tale for Zimbabwe’s sovereign wealth fund, ironically “renamed” the Mutapa Investment Fund by Mr Mnangagwa in an unconstitutional statutory instrument on the 19th of September 2023.
The origins of Zimbabwe’s sovereign wealth fund can be traced back to a mining sector policy study conducted in 2012 that recommended the establishment of the fund to drive long-term investment leveraging on mining, natural and other resources that would anchor inclusive economic growth and development. Zimbabwe is reported to hold the largest lithium deposits in Africa and the fifth-largest in the world. The country is also home to the world’s third-largest platinum deposits, along with large deposits of other high-value mineral resources like gold, chrome, coal and diamonds.
Pursuant to the recommendation, in 2014, Zimbabwe’s Parliament created a Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe whose operations fell under the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe Act. The stated purpose of the Fund was to make secure investments for the benefit and enjoyment of future generations of Zimbabweans, to support the development objectives of the Government including its long-term economic and social development, to support fiscal or macro-economic stabilization and to supplement government revenue. Despite its creation in 2014, the Sovereign Wealth of Zimbabwe Fund was dormant and seems only to have become somewhat operational under the tenure of Mr Mnangagwa.
The establishment of the fund aligns with global trends where sovereign wealth funds are expanding rapidly in many parts of the world and becoming a major force in global capital markets. Run properly, sovereign wealth funds can leverage a nation’s natural and other resources to facilitate long term and large-scale investment. Run opaquely and corruptly, they can facilitate the large scale looting of a state’s natural resources and economic wealth.
What is a sovereign wealth fund? A sovereign wealth fund is a state-owned investment fund comprised of money generated by the government through, for example, surplus reserves from state-owned natural resource revenues, trade surpluses, bank reserves that accumulate from budgeting excesses, foreign currency operations or money that accrues from privatization projects.
Because sovereign wealth funds are created ostensibly to secure investments and safeguard natural resources for the benefit of future generations citizens, their conduct and operation call for greater scrutiny and the creation of strong checks and balances to ensure sound corporate governance and avoid fund mismanagement, looting and abuse. Sound corporate governance is arguably the most crucial aspect to the development of robust investment strategies for sovereign wealth funds. Establishing clear independence is a prerequisite in order to avoid political interference. There can be no doubt that a lack of sound corporate governance and political interference will erode a fund’s ability to effectively achieve its key economic objectives, particularly the long-term protection of investments for the benefit of citizens of future generations.
Recent Legal Developments
Renaming of Fund On the 19th of September 2023, Mr Mnangagwa controversially promulgated Statutory Instrument 156 of 2023 (SI 156/2003) which changed the name of the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe to the Mutapa Investment Fund. No official reasons have been given for the renaming of the Fund. However, the effect of the name change is to make it not readily discernible to a foreign entity that they are dealing with a sovereign wealth fund as opposed to a private investment fund.
Mnangagwa’s unfettered power to appoint Mutapa Fund Board SI 156/2003 gives Mr Mnangagwa the unfettered power to appoint the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Investment Officer and all eight members of the Mutapa Investment Fund Board. Although he has to consult the Minister, he is not bound by any of the Minister’s recommendations. Prior to the amendment, the Minister of Finance appointed the sovereign wealth fund board members. This provision is concerning in light of recent appointments by Mr Mnangagwa to Cabinet and other public posts which have been criticized for breaching sound corporate governance principles and being underpinned in some instances by nepotism. The lack of independence of the Fund and the limited (if non-existent) checks and balances on an already powerful executive head increase the potential for looting and abuse of state resources.
No more reporting to Parliament Before the amendment, the Sovereign Wealth Fund Board had an obligation to make quarterly reports to the Minister of Finance who was equally obliged to table the Fund’s reports before Parliament. However, SI 156/2003 has taken away the obligation to table the Board’s reports before Parliament. The Board only tables reports to the President and the Minister of Finance. This removes all pretense of public scrutiny over the Fund’s operations and investments. The scope for Parliamentary oversight of the Fund’s investments and operations, which is an essential element of sound public financial management, has also been severely curtailed. The risk is that looting and abuse of the Fund’s assets and resources will be hidden from public scrutiny.
Government shares in key companies now vest in Mutapa Fund The shares held by the Government in a number of gazetted companies now vest in the Mutapa Fund. There is no need for any formal share transfer. The transfer is “by operation of law.” The company secretaries of the affected companies have 21 days to do the necessary company secretarial work to give expression to the new ownership structure.
Companies whose government shares will now fall under the Mutapa Investment Fund include Defold Mine, ZUPCO, Kuvimba, Silo Investments (GMB commercial arm), the National Oil Company of Zimbabwe, the Cold Storage Commission, Petrotrade, POSB, Netone Cellular, the National Railways of Zimbabwe Holdings and NRZ Ltd, TelOne, ARDA Seeds, Zimbabwe Power Company, Powertel, Allied Timbers, Telecel Zimbabwe, Air Zimbabwe, Industrial Development Corporation, Cottco, AFC Limited and Hwange Colliery. Mr Mnangagwa has the unfettered power to add and remove companies to the list as and when he pleases.
The effect of putting all the companies under one roof is to create a super-parastatal whose conduct and operations are not subject to public procurement laws, Parliamentary scrutiny or disclosure to the public. This offends the stated objective of the Fund which is to preserve national assets for the benefit of future generations.
Members and employees of the Fund “sworn to secrecy“
SI 156/2003 prohibits members, employees or agents of the Fund from disclosing any information relating to the affairs of the Fund. This further impedes access to information and undermines transparency and accountability over the Fund’s investments and operations.
Free and unrestricted transfer & externalization of foreign currency
SI 156/2003 allows the Fund to transfer forex pertaining to investments made by the Fund into and out of Zimbabwe without restriction or delay. This exemption is arbitrary and capricious in light of Zimbabwe’s stringent exchange control laws and currency regulation that apply to all other sectors, especially the private sector. The potential for abuse and externalization of forex through this vehicle looms large.
Why must you be worried? Recent amendments to the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe Act by Mr Mnangagwa ought to concern all progressive Zimbabweans because they are unconstitutional, violate mandatory principles of public financial management – particularly transparency and accountability and leave the door wide open for mass looting of state assets and natural resources. This is the opposite of the stated objective of Zimbabwe’s Sovereign Wealth Fund.
Unconstitutionality The most concerning feature of the recent purported amendment to the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe Act by Mr Mnangagwa is that it is unconstitutional in a number of respects. As a starting point, the amendment was introduced by way of a statutory instrument, which violates section 134 of the Constitution. The said section prohibits the enactment, amendment or repeal of legislation by way of a statutory instrument. Only Parliament can make, change or remove laws. It is no answer to this charge that the statutory instrument was gazetted purportedly under the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act – this statute itself offends section 134 of the Constitution. In the event of a conflict, the Constitution is supreme. It follows that Mr Mnangagwa’s statutory instrument that changed the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe was invalid, ultra vires the Constitution and thus illegal as a matter of a law. It additionally breaches the section 68 obligation of all administrative authorities to act lawfully, reasonably and fairly.
Lack of transparency Mr Mnangagwa’s illegal amendment to the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe Act through SI 156 of 2023 further violates the constitutional principles of public financial management enshrined in section 298 of the Constitution. Section 298 states that in all aspects of public finance, of which the management and conduct of a state-owned and controlled fund is one, there must be transparency and accountability.
This provision was violated when Mr Mnangagwa proceeded to exempt the Sovereign Wealth of Zimbabwe Fund from the purview of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act through the promulgation of General Notice 1546 of 2003. No explanation has been given, nor can a valid one exist, as to why the Sovereign Wealth Fund would be exempt from public procurement laws that exist to ensure that public procurement and disposal of public assets are effected in a manner that is transparent, fair, honest, cost-effective and competitive.
Another looting gimmick? The unconstitutional exemption of the Fund from the mandatory provisions of public procurement legislation and the speed with which the illegal amendments were enacted have given rise to the criticism that the illegal amendments are designed to facilitate looting and to evade public scrutiny of the Fund’s operations, investments and the sale and disposal of its assets. There is a real risk and possibility that the assets and entities held by the Fund will be sold without the benefit of public or parliamentary scrutiny or the necessary checks and balances necessary to ensure sound corporate governance and prevent abuse.
Conclusion In conclusion, Mr Mnangagwa’s unconstitutional changes to the legal framework of Zimbabwe’s Sovereign Wealth Fund signal a new era of predatory looting of state assets and natural resources by Mr Mnangagwa and the illegal “Mutapa Mafia” he will personally appoint.
Zimbabwe, a country reeling under 49% extreme poverty, triple digit hyperinflation and an annual loss of $2,2 billion to illicit financial flows cannot afford for its resources to bleed further. It behoves all institutions of the State with a mandate to oversee corruption and poor public management including the Auditor-General, Parliament, the Judiciary, the Media and the general citizenry to speak out against this illegal conduct and ensure that this latest unconstitutional enactment is reversed.
If this is not done, billions in state resources will be lost once again without any accountability or disclosure.
In response to a misprint where we said EIAs or Environmental impact assessment is done by Ministry of Mines instead of the Environmental Management Agency consultant, we will briefly outline the process and requirements.
For the record, EIA is done by EMA through registered agents.
Inorder to get an EIA certificate that outlines how you will manage the environment where you conduct your project to satisfaction of EMA requirements you must follow the following requirements.
You must have a registered mine with work approved by the Ministry of Mines . From there you choose a consultant qualified to do so approved by the ministry of mines who understands the laws of the country especially to do with Environmental management.
When he/she starts the process, she calculates the total project cost and send to EMA for billing then they will charge you a small percentage for you to proceed with your consultations .
Then there is consultation phase where you consult in writing key stakeholders depending on location but the following are there everywhere in the country 1 District administration 2 Rural district council and 3 ZINWA 4 Forestry commission 5 Agritex 6 ZRP 7 local communities x 15 These above stakeholders have their own requirements inorder to fill the form given to them and comment .
After these consultations have been a book is compiled and submitted to EMA for proper assessment before it is approved if meets the standard of Environmental management then a certificate will be issued giving permission to proceed with the intended project.
However as you continue more licensing is required depending on activities you are carrying out .
For your EIAs we have a consultant who does at affordable prices compared to the rest of consultants across the country as low as 1000usd depending on project specifications.
By A Correspondent| Zanu PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa has repeated his false claim that the 23 August 2023 harmonized elections were credible, free and fair despite the Southern Africa Development Committee (SADC) report which clearly discredited the polls.
In his speech at the State of the Nation Address (SONA) at new parliament building today, Mnangagwa said the elections were held in accordance with democratic traditions and practices.
“The Session comes shortly after we successfully conducted our credible, free, fair and peaceful Harmonised General Elections, in accordance with our democratic traditions and practices,” said Mnangagwa.
Mnangagwa’s false claims are in sharp contrast to all observer mission reports including SADC, Commonwealth, African Union, Carter Centre and European Union (EUEOM) who openly condemned the August elections for not being free and fair.
The false claims also comes on the backdrop of concerted efforts by SADC to hold an extra ordinary summit to discuss the report submitted by Nevers Mumba, the SADC-EOM Chairperson.
Meanwhile, opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators have boycotted Mnangagwa’s SONA on the basis that he was declared winner in a sham election.
The opposition is demanding a re-run supervised by international bodies but Mnangagwa is adamant that he won the disputed polls.
By Dorrothy Moyo | The US resident, Panganai Java has found himself entangled in a legal controversy over a social media post that could soon lead to criminal charges. Mr. Java took to Facebook to offer a substantial reward to anyone who recorded a video while assaulting Prophet Ian Ndlovu, stating, “anyone who supplies me with a video beating up Prophet Peter Ndlovu, I will give him USD2,000.” This incident occurred in the context of a prophecy by Prophet Ian Ndlovu calling for Christians to pray for his life. While it is important to note that this article is hypothetical in nature, we will explore potential legal implications based on US law.
1. Incitement to Violence (Prior to Assault):
Even if Prophet Ian Ndlovu does not get assaulted, Passion Java may be liable for incitement to violence under US law. Incitement to violence involves encouraging, promoting, or instigating violence against another individual. Passion Java’s Facebook post, in which he offered a monetary reward for assaulting Prophet Ian Ndlovu, could be interpreted as incitement to violence. This may lead to charges being filed against him.
2. Incitement to Violence (After Assault):
If, hypothetically, an assault on Prophet Ian Ndlovu were to occur as a result of Passion Java’s Facebook post, the legal consequences could be even more severe. In this scenario, Passion Java may not only face charges related to incitement but also potentially charges of conspiracy or aiding and abetting the assault. These charges could result in more significant legal penalties, including imprisonment.
Incitement to violence is a serious offense in the United States, and those found guilty of such acts may face severe legal consequences.
By A Correspondent| The opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has boycotted the official opening of the first session of the tenth parliament, a historic event that is taking place today.
The ceremony, presided over by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, will set the stage for the legislative agenda in the House of Assembly.
CCC spokesperson, Promise Mkhwananzi, explained the boycott by stating, “We are boycotting the processes that Mnangagwa wants us to undertake tomorrow on the basis of the fact that we as CCC do not recognize an election that put him there.”
Mkhwananzi expressed their discontent with the election process, stating, “The election was a shame, it did not go well. It fell abysmally short of the expected standards of a free and fair election in terms of the laws of Zimbabwe as well as in terms of SADC and AU protocols on free and fair elections.”
The CCC’s decision to abstain from the event is a symbolic gesture, aimed at emphasizing their demand for a legitimate and transparent electoral process in Zimbabwe under the auspices of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
Zanu PF Central Committee member, Joseph Tshuma, criticized the CCC, accusing them of taking Zimbabweans for granted.
Tshuma questioned the rationale behind the CCC’s decision to boycott the official opening ceremony while still maintaining representation in the House of Assembly.
The opposition CCC has consistently claimed that the August 23 harmonized elections were rigged in favor of Zanu PF.
These claims were echoed by regional and international bodies such as the Southern African Development Community (SADC), African Union (AU), and European Union (EU), which concurred that the polls had not met the expected regional and international standards for free and fair elections.
By A Correspondent| The Zimbabwe Election Support Network (ZESN) observed the run-off by-elections being held in Ward 33 of Makoni Rural District Council yesterday.
According to Section 129 of the Electoral Act (Chapter 2:13), run-off by-elections are mandated in the event where 2 or more candidates receive an equal number of valid votes cast.
In response to this requirement, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) organized the current run-off by-election, which has been unfolding peacefully thus far.
As of midday, the political environment in Ward 33 has been described as peaceful, with no reported incidents during the polling process. An essential step in the process, the display of voters’ rolls outside polling stations, has been duly implemented to enable voters to verify their registration details prior to casting their votes.
The opening of the 6 polling stations was prompt and smooth, with all necessary polling materials readily available, including ballot boxes, ballot papers, indelible finger markers, voters’ rolls, and official ZEC stamps.
In terms of staffing, an average of 7 polling officers, all male presiding officers, manned each polling station, ensuring an efficient voting process. ZESN observers reported that the voting process was proceeding seamlessly in all stations, with all procedures being followed in accordance with electoral laws.
Representatives from both major contesting parties, ZANU-PF and CCC, were actively present, comprehensively tracking the polling process across all polling stations.
A few voters, primarily due to illiteracy or visual impairment, required assistance in casting their votes. Notably, voters were free to choose their preferred assisting person. The highest number of assisted voters were recorded at St Johns Mupanguri Primary School, while no requests for assistance were reported at Mavhudzi Secondary School.
Some individuals were turned away due to discrepancies in voter rolls or a lack of valid identification documents. By midday, 18 people had been redirected to appropriate polling stations where they were registered.
ZESN observers reported varying voter turnouts ranging from approximately 57% to 16% as of midday. The voting process is scheduled to continue until 1900 hours, with ZESN committed to monitoring and providing further updates throughout the day. A comprehensive end-of-day statement and a report featuring recommendations for electoral stakeholders will be issued post-election.
By A Correspondent| In a shocking revelation, former National Social Security Authority (Nssa) boss Arthur Manase is embroiled in a luxury vehicles scandal, accused of illicitly acquiring six cars using pension fund money for personal use within a mere two-year span.
Ruvimbo Muchenje from a local online reports that Manase is further alleged to have implemented a policy allowing condition-of-service vehicles, in violation of a cabinet-approved circular dated 20 March 2018.
This controversy comes as he pushes Nssa to relinquish a third high-end vehicle, a Land Rover Defender, in addition to the already acquired Mercedes-Benz E55 AMG and Mitsubishi Triton double cab before his recent resignation.
The total value of these three vehicles amounts to an astonishing US$416,000, with the Mercedes-Benz valued at US$178,000, the Land Rover Defender at US$175,000, and the Triton at US$63,000.
Manase, who assumed the role in January 2021, resigned on 1 August, over a year after being placed on a leave of absence since July the prior year for investigations into numerous irregularities, mismanagement, and corruption allegations.
The former Nssa executive was suspended without pay and benefits on 28 July, just three days before he tendered his resignation, facing a litany of over 30 charges related to misconduct, malpractices, and maladministration.
Nssa had intended to convene a disciplinary committee to address corruption allegations, some of which involved vehicles.
Documents uncovered by the online outlet outline accusations of unauthorized implementation of a motor vehicle framework for conditions of service and the unlawful acquisition of six cars.
One of the charges reads, “You unlawfully implemented a policy of availing condition of service vehicles, in addition to motor vehicle loans, in violation of the 20 March 2018 cabinet-approved circular on conditions of service vehicles for independent commissions, state enterprises and parastatals. You therefore wilfully defied and/or refused to implement lawful directives and caused financial loss to the authority as a result of payment of unapproved vehicle loans.”
The allegations further detail the acquisition of six vehicles using Nssa resources for personal use within a two-year timeframe, breaching established regulations.
Despite these damning allegations, Manase has reportedly expressed his desire to acquire a Land Rover Defender, the third luxury car from Nssa within two years. It is important to note that the Land Rover Defender in question is an Nssa pool vehicle.
The scandal has also ensnared Nssa assistant accountant Erasmus Mavondo, who was arrested last year on charges of corruptly facilitating a personal loan for Manase to buy a car at a significantly undervalued exchange rate, prejudicing Nssa of a substantial amount.
By A Correspondent| In a recent tweet, prominent Zimbabwean academic Brighton Mutebuka expressed deep concern over the prolonged incarceration of former opposition lawmaker Job Sikhala.
Sikhala, a well-known figure in Zimbabwean politics and a prominent critic of the ruling government, has been held in detention for an extended period.
Mutebuka, who has a personal connection with Sikhala, emphasized the emotional, physical, and psychological resilience Sikhala has displayed under extremely challenging conditions.
He highlighted the complex challenges Sikhala faces, including legal proceedings and the impact on his family.
The academic and activist underscored the vulnerability Sikhala faces in his current situation, suggesting that the government aims to break his will and create paranoia by isolating him from his comrades.
Mutebuka described the situation as a personal duel between Sikhala and President Emmerson Mnangagwa (ED), noting Sikhala’s history of fearless defiance and unfiltered criticism of the regime.
He criticized the continued detention, stating that there appear to be no legal grounds for Sikhala’s prolonged incarceration, especially considering his lack of previous convictions.
Mutebuka stressed that in established democracies, such a situation would prompt intervention from the judiciary.
The academic suggested that Sikhala might be held as a political bargaining chip to exert leverage over the opposition or extract concessions.
He called for solidarity and understanding towards Sikhala, emphasizing the regime’s desire to showcase his persecution for their own political gain. Mutebuka acknowledged the limited options for securing Sikhala’s release, indicating that sustained protests and diplomatic efforts might be the best course of action.
In addition, Mutebuka raised concerns about potential manipulation and censorship of information Sikhala receives while in detention, cautioning Sikhala to verify information to the best of his ability given the circumstances.
The continued incarceration of Job Sikhala has ignited worries of political persecution and manipulation, raising questions about the state of democracy and human rights in Zimbabwe.
By- The opposition Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) said that SADC will pressure Harare to hold fresh polls following the disputed August 2023 Harmonised Elections despite President Emmerson Mnangagwa declaring there won’t be a rerun.
Posting on X, CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi stated that SADC will preside over fresh elections that will be managed by a new elections management that will replace the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).
This comes after regional and international electoral observer missions, including SADC, AU (African Union), EU (European Union), Commonwealth, and the Carter Center, condemned the elections.
Mkwananzi asserted that CCC is currently seized with organizing and mobilizing towards a fresh election. He said:
The decision to conduct a fresh election in Zimbabwe is not Mr. Mnangagwa’s decision. It is a decision of all Stakeholders in Zimbabwe and the region.
We are aware that Mr. Mnangagwa barred Mugabe from leaving office in 2008 when he had lost to Tsvangirai and had chosen to do the right thing and pave the way for the newly elected President.
This was revealed by Mnangagwa himself, boasting that he and his lot had wantonly disregarded the will of the people and forced Mugabe to stay.
As CCC, we have already refused to accept the result. President Nelson Chamisa and his Chief Election Agent did not sign off on those sham results.
President Chamisa has already stated that what is currently governing is an illegal, illegitimate interim de facto arrangement.
Our focus is on organizing and mobilizing towards a fresh election which will have to come through a Transitional authority shepherded by SADC and a new, independent and professional body in place of ZEC.
We continue to urge the Citizens of Zimbabwe not to despair or be discouraged.
Mr. Mnangagwa will be dragged to a fresh, free and fair election kicking and screaming. A fresh election is inevitable.
Let us use every peaceful and democratic means available and permissible to bring forth the elections.
By-The Marondera CCC-dominated council has distanced itself from a statement issued by the Municipality of Marondera congratulating Vice President Constantino Chiwenga for his re-appointment by President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The congratulatory message, which has been interpreted as an endorsement of Mnangagwa’s victory in the 23 August 2023 elections, reads:
His Worship, the Mayor, Cllr A Nyakarombo, Councillors, the Town Clerk, Management and Staff of the Municipality of Marondera extend their warmest congratulations to the Vice President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Rtd General Cde Constantino Guvheya Dominic Nyikadzino Chiwenga, on his re-appointment as the Vice President of Zimbabwe.
We wish him all the best as he continues to provide visionary leadership towards the realization of Vision 2030.
The Vice President’s astute leadership Inspires us, and we are committed to becoming a vibrant smart city that delivers excellent municipal services in accordance with NDS1 and Vision 2030.
However, in a statement, Marondera mayor, Ward 8 Councillor Abel Nyakarombo, distanced CCC from the congratulatory message, saying that it emanated from people who want to cause confusion in the opposition party. He said:
We, as CCC Councillors, have nothing to do with this wish. This is purely the hand of those who intend to cause confusion and divisions among us.
We, as deployees, remain guided by our leadership. We do not act independently from the Party to which we subscribe.
I want to make it categorically clear, that whoever manufactured this article will answer questions. As a municipality, we do not have any one of us who can act unilaterally.
We are bound by the spirit of working together without any trace of discord among us. Our best tools for us to be together are engagement, consultation and unity.
Anybody who makes decisions without consulting will be fighting our resolve to be a united front.
This is one unilateral decision. Which was taken without consultations and engagements. We have no input whatsoever on this piece.
Our harmonised elections have come and gone, in the process extending ZANU PF’s governing mandate. I want to thank and express my profound gratitude to all the Zimbabweans who voted for our party, ZANU PF, and for me as your President.
Cultivating peace
In the same spirit and most of all, I heartily thank all of you, fellow Zimbabweans and compatriots, for cultivating, keeping and defending the peace before, during and after our harmonised elections. That peace which you painstakingly built and defended, today durably abides, and holds out hope for peaceful elections in future. I am convinced that we have turned the corner, resolutely abhorring and putting behind us the baneful cycle of political violence which used to convulse past elections, thus stereotyping and besmirching our nation. Indeed, that sad and regrettable past has been a rough teacher; it has delivered hard lessons which now stand heeded by all actors in our political society. Well done, Zimbabwe!
Keeping the peace
As our late Vice President John Landa Nkomo always used to remind us, peace is begot by you, by me and by all of us, acting in concert, and in the national interest. Going forward, all of us must now commit ourselves to transforming this milestone in our electoral affairs into an abiding gain firmly built into our collective personality, until we begin to take for granted our peace in all our future elections.
Listening President
As I indicated in my inaugural speech, I am President for all Zimbabweans. I embark on my second term anchored and straitjacketed by the philosophy of an approachable, listening, servant leadership, committed to serving all Zimbabweans in equal measure, and to developing our nation so no one and no place is left behind.
Crucial term
Vision 2030 straddles three political terms, the first of which began in 2018 and ended this year, just before our Harmonised Elections. We have just begun the second term, which ends two years shy of 2030, the year our Vision is scheduled to run its full, programmed course.
This makes the current term decisive in actualising the broad goals of our Vision. My commitment is to ensure that our Vision is realised two years ahead of its due date. It is a pledge and hope arising from a hard-headed look at what, together, we have been able to accomplish in the last five years which have gone by. The progress has been both foundational and phenomenal, thus justifying my optimism, and making the realisation of our Vision quite feasible. I know that with greater will and focus, we are able to quicken our development pace, thus hastening the realisation of all our goals.
A key test to genuine realisation of Vision 2030 will be our rural areas, where over 60 percent of our people live. Our rural communities measure the depth and breadth of lack of even development, and the cost of rural exclusion in development. Shunned by successive colonial governments, our rural areas are a sample of denied development which gave rise to rural underdevelopment we inherited from colonialism.
Lifting millions out of rural poverty
Except all this need not remain so. We cannot continue to blame our colonial past for rural ills. It is as if we doubt our own agency as makers of an alternative history which lift our people and communities. Our nation must change course by taking responsibility over these rural backwaters which we now must challenge through a new model of development.
Time has now come to go beyond community development for a comprehensive programme of rural capacitation and empowerment. Towards the tail-end of the just-ended term, I broached the idea of rural transformation and empowerment through rural industrialisation. This is our panacea to rural underdevelopment. That idea’s time has now come and, going forward, rural Industrialisation must now become the centrepiece of our development plans. We must lift millions living in our rural areas out of poverty, as envisaged by our Vision. The People’s Republic of China, PRC, provides an inspiring example and salutary lessons.
Mobilising factors for rural development
All the factors for rural development through vibrant rural agriculture and rural industrialisation must now be put in place. These include water, electricity, irrigation systems, input support schemes, extension services, road network, access to markets, and, of course, adequate social services infrastructure.
These vital enablers should be in place in all our rural communities so that we begin our broad and encompassing programme of sustainable rural industrialisation, informed by factor endowments and activities possible in each community. Government will be a lead actor in this process, including in chaperoning community value chains which we now envisage under this policy.
Building a competitive manufacturing base
Tomorrow I shall be addressing captains of industry and leaders of business in our resort city, Victoria Falls.
Together, we should be able to agree on a common programme of economic action designed to take our nation forward, building on the gains recorded in the past five years. A lot was achieved, creating a firm pedestal for sustained economic growth. I will emphasise production and productivity in industry and across sectors, including vigorous pursuit of clear and efficient value chains which make our economy a competitive manufacturer and exporter.
Macro-economic stability
Our mining sector continues to do well. We need to nudge it further forward, towards greater local value addition to enhance our earnings. Our tourism, too, continues to record buoyant growth, and to witness new projects. There will be greater investments on all our gateways and major roads, for ease of business and travel. Our railway system will be rehabilitated and equipped. Prudent fiscal and monetary policies will continue to be pursued for macroeconomic stability. All these issues and many others will come under spotlight at this retreat, so a comprehensive agenda is agreed upon and adopted.
New desire to engage, partner
My trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, informed by contacts I made with representatives of key partners, gave me great hope that our engagement and re-engagement policies are beginning to yield positive results. There is now an appetite to engage and partner Zimbabwe, including in hitherto coy Western capitals. Indeed, a growing realisation that the more than two decades of illegal sanctions have cost both sides enormously, and that such hostile policies must now give way to gainful bilateral cooperation. Zimbabwe remains a friend to all and an enemy to none. Equally, Zimbabwe will never forget its friends who stood by it through thick and thin. These will always enjoy a pride of place in our decisions and policies.
Believing in Zimbabwean talent
Particularly exhilarating were my contacts with leading Zimbabwean experts now working for key industries abroad. As groups and as individuals, they expressed their readiness to come back home and to share experiences and expertise which they have garnered over the years they have been abroad. One project deserves particular mention. A group of Zimbabwean scientists are very keen to establish a Biotechnological Hub back home. This is to be applauded. I promised them full support, including free land for the project. We must show faith, confidence and belief in our own people, many of whom drive key research and development projects in several multinational organisations. We must make them feel welcome back home so they contribute to Zimbabwe’s development.
Tackling urban food insecurity
Let me conclude by announcing a new programme we are set to launch for our citizens in urban and peri-urban areas.
Government has noted growing instances of food insecurity affecting urban and peri-urban households. To address this worrisome problem affecting these wage-dependent households, Government has now decided to extend its free agricultural input scheme to all households living in urban and peri-urban areas. Already, many such families have been working the land by utilising free spaces in and around our towns and cities for agricultural purposes, even then without Government support. Starting this season, that support is now forthcoming from Government so such households are not left behind and are made food secure.
Thank you, our farmers To our farmers, big and small, the summer season is already upon us. We must begin preparations for yet another successful agricultural season.
I am very happy that our wheat farmers have done exceedingly well, guaranteeing us yet another record wheat crop. Many countries in SADC and on our African continent are already making enquiries in respect of different cereals.
Looking in the crystal ball, I see our agricultural exports growing in leaps and bounds; indeed, becoming a veritable foreign exchange earner for our economy. We must keep raising our targets, now that we have achieved the foundational target of becoming a food-secure nation.
By Farai D Hove | In the wake of the controversy surrounding the recent election and the lack of attendance from other African nations at his inauguration, Zimbabwe’s ZANU PF leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa, faces a critical moment as he prepares to address Parliament. It appears that one of the primary focuses of his announcement will be the introduction of new Bills. The Parliament is expected to tackle six Bills that originated from the previous Parliament, which dissolved just before the harmonized elections.
Five of these Bills had lapsed due to the dissolution of Parliament, as per Section 147 of the Constitution, which stipulates that all legislative business lapses under such circumstances. These Bills include the Insurance Bill, the Insurance and Pensions Commission Amendment Bill, the Medical Services Amendment Bill, the Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, and the Financial Adjustments Bill.
One additional Bill, the Private Voluntary Organisation Amendment Bill, was sent back to Parliament by President Mnangagwa with reservations for reconsideration. This move suggests that the President wants the legislature to address certain concerns he has raised about the Bill.
The Mines and Minerals Amendment Bill, in particular, faced delays due to an adverse report issued by Parliament’s Legal Committee, chaired by ZANU PF member Cde Jonathan Samkange. The committee expressed concerns about sections of the Bill related to mining title registration and dispute resolution between miners and farmers, suggesting that they might conflict with the Constitution.
It’s noteworthy that these legislative matters are taking place in the context of ZANU PF securing a majority in the National Assembly during the recent elections, with the ruling party winning 136 out of 209 contested seats. However, this majority might not entirely alleviate the challenges and scrutiny faced by the government, especially with the controversy surrounding the election and international attention on Zimbabwe’s political landscape.
In his address to Parliament, President Mnangagwa is likely to emphasize the importance of these Bills and their potential impact on various sectors of Zimbabwe’s economy and governance. Additionally, he may use this opportunity to address concerns and criticisms raised both domestically and internationally regarding the recent election process, as well as to outline his administration’s plans for addressing political and economic challenges facing the country.
WARRIORS star Midfielder, Marshall Munetsi was on target for Stade de Reims in their match against Tinotenda Kadewere’s Lyon this Sunday.
Playing against his Warriors compatriot, Munetsi had the bragging rights at the end of the match as he sealed an impressive victory for Reims.
Munetsi scored Reims’ first goal, before Yunis Abdelhamid scored in the 71st minute to hand Reims a two-nil win at Stade de la Auguste Delaune II stadium this afternoon.
While, Munetsi was basking in glory, it was heartbreak for his Warriors teammate, Kadewere who came on as a second half substitute in his team’s loss.
Kadewere was brought on in the 68th minute to replace Mama Balde with his team trailing by a single goal, but his introduction could not effect a change of fortunes for Lyon.
Instead, Abdelhamid scored three minutes after Kadewere’s introduction to seal the game for Reims.
Munetsi is having the time of his life i Ligue 1 recording five league goal contributions in seven games so far this season.
That spell includes two goals as well three assists for the midfielder.
-ZIMSTAT Director General Taguma Mahonde Granted $200 Bail on Fraud and Obstruction Charges.
ZIMSTAT Director General Taguma Mahonde has been granted bail of US$200 on charges of fraud and obstructing the course of justice. These charges stem from his alleged corrupt claims for school fee allowances over five terms and his purported attempts to cover up and block investigations into these claims.
The fraud charge centers on Mahonde’s claims for the maximum school fees allowance for three children for the third term of 2021, all three terms in the previous year, and the first term of this year, despite having only two children needing school fees.
Furthermore, the obstruction of justice charge arises from Mahonde’s alleged efforts to obstruct investigations by suspending and subsequently dismissing the ZimStat internal auditor, Claudius Matiza, who had been assisting the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) with their inquiries.
The State and its witness, Investigating Officer Eric Chacha of ZACC, had initially opposed Mahonde’s bail application.
According to the State’s case, Mahonde entered into a contract of employment with ZimStat on June 24, 2019, which included an educational allowance for himself and his children. On September 3, 2021, the ZimStat board of directors increased the education allowance for the director-general to US$800 per child per term for a maximum of three children, totaling a maximum of US$2,400 if there were three or more children.
On various occasions, Mahonde is alleged to have claimed this maximum allowance, resulting in substantial payments into his personal bank account. However, investigations revealed that he had only two school-going children during this period.
The fraudulent claims came to light during an internal audit conducted by Claudius Matiza, who had been assisting ZACC with investigations. On April 20 this year, Mahonde allegedly attempted to obstruct the investigations by suspending Matiza and subsequently dismissing him, allegedly to prevent him from providing evidence to investigators.
This case has sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe, raising concerns about corruption at high levels of government institutions. Mahonde is expected to appear in court for further proceedings as the case unfolds.
Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe Takes Action Against Histalix Abuse Promoters.
The Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ) has taken a firm stance against the promotion of abuse of Histalix, a locally produced cough mixture containing codeine. MCAZ has revoked the licenses of three individuals and four wholesalers involved in promoting the misuse of this medication.
The three individuals whose licenses have been revoked are Mr. Tatenda Chigumbura, a supervisor at Murity Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Spiwe Chipara, a supervisor at Adept Pharmaceuticals, and Mr. Didymus Kanyera, who works as a supervisor at Bestpharm Pharmaceuticals. These individuals, along with the organizations that employed them, have had their operators’ licenses suspended. Additionally, Action 24 medical supplies also faced license suspension as part of this crackdown.
This suspension will remain in effect until March 2025, underlining the seriousness of the authorities’ commitment to tackling the misuse of codeine-containing medicines.
Mr. Richard Rukwata, the Director-General of MCAZ, emphasized the organization’s primary responsibility to regulate medicines and medical devices in Zimbabwe. He stated, “Through our robust regulatory framework, we ensure that only safe, effective, and quality medicines are available on the market. By doing so, we aim to prevent the circulation of counterfeit drugs and unregistered substances that can contribute to drug abuse.”
Furthermore, Mr. Rukwata highlighted that the MCAZ has implemented mechanisms to control the availability of codeine-containing medicines by requiring valid prescriptions for their dispensation. However, he expressed concern over the continuous illegal importation of over-the-counter medicines from other countries, indicating the need for continued vigilance in combating this issue.
This decisive action by the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe serves as a clear message that the authorities are dedicated to safeguarding public health and combating the misuse of medications containing codeine.-state media
By Weston Duram | In recent days, the Zimbabwean government, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has been attempting to reassure the public that there is no wrongdoing involved in the renaming and restructuring of the Mutapa Investment Fund. However, a closer examination reveals a disturbing reality – the legal basis for the scheme may not even exist, raising serious questions about transparency and accountability.
George Guvamatanga
The controversy revolves around Section 3 (9) of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act of 2017, which the government claims allows for exemptions in procurement for certain institutions, including the Mutapa Investment Fund. But here’s the startling revelation: Section 3 (9) of the mentioned Act does not exist. It appears that the government used a non-existent legal provision to create the Mutapa Investment Fund and grant it exemptions from procurement laws.
Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion permanent secretary, Mr. George Guvamatanga, has been at the forefront of attempts to justify the government’s actions. He argued that the recent amendments to the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe (SWFZ) Act also amended the Public Procurement Act and Disposal of Public Assets Act. However, his assertion that Section 3 of the SWFZ Act already dealt with exemptions is misleading, as this specific section does not address exemptions, further fueling suspicions of irregularities.
The government’s claim that exemptions apply only to the Mutapa Investment Fund and not to other entities listed in the Statutory Instrument (SI) is another contentious point. This assertion hinges on the idea that the fund merely owns shares in these entities, without altering their legal character. However, the lack of a clear legal foundation for these actions casts doubt on the validity of these claims.
Mr. Guvamatanga’s argument that the fund must operate in competitive markets and therefore requires special treatment also raises eyebrows. It implies that market-sensitive transactions might be conducted differently, but the absence of a legal basis for such actions leaves room for skepticism.
Furthermore, while the government emphasizes the need for efficiency and transparency in the Mutapa Investment Fund, the fundamental question remains: can such assurances be trusted when the legal foundation for the entire operation appears to be shaky at best?
President Mnangagwa’s use of Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) (Investment Laws Amendment) Regulations, 2023, to change the name of the fund adds another layer of complexity to the issue. The fund, originally established in 2014, was created from various government sources, including the proceeds of privatization and fiscal surpluses. However, the government’s determination to generate returns on its investments and contribute to the economy must be balanced with concerns about the legal legitimacy of its actions.
As the controversy surrounding the Mutapa Investment Fund continues to unfold, it raises critical questions about transparency, accountability, and the rule of law in Zimbabwe. The lack of a clear legal basis for the scheme undermines public trust and calls into question the government’s commitment to good governance. In a nation grappling with economic challenges, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal processes becomes even more crucial for the well-being of its citizens.
Former Zanu PF MP for Chivi South Constituency, Killer Zivhu has bragged about his esteemed class.
Zivhu pictured himself in a yet to be disclosed place, surrounded by white people.
The controversial politician also conceded Cecil John Rhodes was a civilised leader although he stole “our minerals.”
Zivhu’s remarks are likely to irk Zanu PF hardliners who view western countries as bitter foes.
“At Rhodes’s grave, the guy who brought civilization, he was cruel but principled, he stole our minerals, but he was developing the country, iam glad something great happened at the grave, others ran away, but ndangoshinga and received the message. They(white people) are not bad to be among them… Whites are not bad people.

BULAWAYO, Mzilikazi suburb – In a shocking incident at a local high school in the Mzilikazi suburb of Bulawayo, a Form Two pupil, aged 15, has been accused of attempting to murder another student, aged 16, during a heated argument over a broom.
According to an official statement posted on the Police’s X (formerly Twitter) page, the altercation took a violent turn when the 15-year-old student allegedly struck the 16-year-old on the head with a brick before resorting to a pair of scissors to stab him in the chest. The altercation escalated rapidly, leaving both students in a state of shock.
The motive behind this harrowing incident, which occurred within the school premises, appears to be a dispute over the unauthorized use of a broom. It is reported that the accused student accused the victim of taking the broom without permission, leading to the confrontation that ultimately turned violent.
Local authorities have since launched a thorough investigation into the matter. The 15-year-old student is now facing charges of attempted murder, and the case is currently under police scrutiny.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, sparking concerns over school safety and the need for conflict resolution mechanisms within educational institutions. School administrators and authorities are expected to address these concerns in the wake of this disturbing event.
The condition of the injured student remains critical, and he is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital.

THREE women suspected to be drug suppliers have been dragged to court after they were found with over 30 kilogrammes of marijuana worth ZWL27 million.
The three were dragged to court on charges of unlawfully dealing in dangerous drugs.
The three are 32-year-old Brenda Chivhayo, Unique Kasenza also aged 32 and Stella Kusokeri (49).
The trio is believed to be part of a drug syndicate that gets its supplies of illegal drugs from South Africa.
It is alleged that the trio’s contraband was sent by bus from the neighbouring country.
The court heard that the driver of the bus alerted the police after he got suspicious of the package which was packed in black plastic bags.
Allegations are that when the three went to collect their package they were asked to open it and police recovered 33 kilogrammes of marijuana stashed under groceries.
The three were immediately arrested.
Chivhayo and Kasenza were remanded in custody.
If convicted, the accused face a custodial sentence
By- The opposition Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) says it was preparing for fresh elections to be caused by SADC following the disputed August 2023 Harmonised Elections despite President Emmerson Mnangagwa declaring that there won’t be a rerun.
Mkwananzi asserted that CCC is currently seized with organising and mobilising towards a fresh election.
Our focus is on organising and mobilizing towards a fresh election which will have to come through a Transitional authority shepherded by SADC and a new, independent and professional body in place of ZEC.
By- Former Zanu PF national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere is failing to get back his farm, which was grabbed by a war veteran identified as Ephanos Madzimunyi, despite winning the case in the courts of law. Kasukuwere claims President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration is out to grab his ConCorpia Farm in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central province, following a foiled bid to contest for presidency in the just-ended harmonised elections. Kasukuwere, who has sought refuge in neighbouring South Africa since the November 2017 coup which toppled long-time ruler Robert Mugabe, claims his properties are being targeted for takeover by government. He claims a recent “suspicious” veld fire which razed a citrus plantation at the farm was part of efforts to force him out of the property. Kasukuwere is currently locked in a bitter legal wrangle over ownership of the farm with a war veteran identified as Ephanos Madzimunyi who has “invaded” the property. The former Cabinet minister also accuses police of refusing to enforce an eviction order granted by the High Court. But national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi last week said they were not aware of the alleged arson. “I am not aware of what you are asking and what has been happening,” he said. However, Kasukuwere’s spokesperson Jaqueline Sande said the inferno was a result of lawlessness and failure by government to uphold the rule of law. “The burning of that property is a result of the lawlessness and failure of Mnangagwa’s government to uphold the rule of law,” she said. Sande also confirmed the invasion of the farm by an unlawful occupant who is currently occupying a portion of the citrus plantation. “He has made it very difficult for operations to continue and there is failure to maintain the place he has occupied which has resulted in the burning of the entire citrus plantation. Sande also said Zesa cables, electric polls and the irrigation equipment were destroyed while the entire citrus crop was lost to the fire. “This is a direct result of the failure by Mnangagwa’s government to uphold the rule of law and enforce the court order which ordered the unlawful occupant to vacate the premises. “When president Kasukuwere tried to enforce the court order through the Messenger of Court, the office did not get the support from the police that is required in order to evict this man, who is violent, and who has got weapons on him at all times. “As a result he has continued to occupy that portion of the land to destroy and in the end that is how the fire erupted and caused the damage to all the property on the premises. “The Bindura police refused to enforce this order, in spite of this order having been issued by the High Court. So if orders are to be ignored, it shows that there is impunity and there is lawlessness in the country,” she said. Kasukuwere was barred from contesting as an independent presidential candidate in the August 23 harmonised elections. His appeal at the Supreme Court was also unsuccessful. -NewsDay

By James Gwati- Murowa Diamonds (Rio Zim) owner and his son were among the six people who died when the company plane crashed in Zvamahande area of Mashava, Masvingo, last Friday.
The latest Rio Zim plane crash is the second plane crash for the company this year.
The first one happened in Beatrice early this year. The plane was carrying diamonds.
The plane crash scene was gruesome, with body parts scattered and stuck to debris. Due to the severe damage, it was challenging to determine the exact number of passengers on board.
But the discovery of seven pairs of shoes made some conclude that seven people had died in the crash.
According to locals, they heard an extremely loud sound, and the plane was seen circling in the air before it tragically fell from the sky. The aftermath was gruesome, with body parts hanging from branches, large chunks of flesh on the ground, and some even stuck to the debris.
Determining the exact number of passengers on the plane was challenging. Sadly, there was nothing left intact of them. Based on the recovered pair of shoes, the estimate stood at seven individuals. A Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officer present at the scene said the network in the area was expected to remain down until Civil Aviation authorities arrived and informed the president.
we observed that body parts, if we can call them that, were being collected in bin liners.
It was misty and foggy in the Masvingo area this morning, although we unsure if the same weather conditions prevailed at the crash site at the time of the crash.
Furthermore, we learned from the locals that the plane took off much earlier than its usual departure time of around 9 a.m. On this fateful day, it departed at approximately 7 a.m.
The Rio Zim plane was en route from Harare to Murowa Diamonds when the tragic incident occurred. The investigation is ongoing, but initial reports indicate that the plane experienced a mechanical fault.
Rio Zim is a mining company based in Zimbabwe. It is one of the largest mining companies in the country and is involved in the extraction and production of various minerals, including gold, diamonds, and chrome. The company operates several mines and has interests in different mining projects across the Midlands, Masvingo, and Mashonaland Central provinces.

Former Tourism Minister, Engineer Walter Mzembi has described the Zanu PF leader Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa as a selfish man.

By Bussiness Reporter- WestProp Holdings Limited is in the final talks to begin the construction of a regional mall as the property developer seeks to grow its projects’ sales values past its current US$147 million pipeline.
The regional mall comes as the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange-listed concern is constructing two multi-billion-dollar developments — Pomona City and the Hills Golf Estate — as it seeks to deliver gross annual profit of more than US$20 million over the next three years. Pomona City is a development situated on a 273-hectare piece of land that will offer a secure gated premium lifestyle that will be premised on the ‘city within a city’ concept and be a smart city. The Hills Golf Estate seeks to revamp an 18-hole golf club into a US championship standard course and develop a lifestyle community that includes a tennis and swimming academy, residential units and a luxury hotel. In a statement accompanying its results for the half year ended June 30, 2023, WestProp board chairman Michael Louis said the firm was committed to growing the valuations of its projects. “The group has already committed to its rollout of two multi-billion-dollar developments which Includes Pomona City a ‘City within a city’ development as well as one of Africa’s most premier Golf Estate ‘The Hills’ to which case both developments are already actively engaged and being developed to launch in 2024,” he said. “We are also pleased to confirm that we are in the final stages of negotiations for Zimbabwe’s long awaited first ever regional mall ‘The Mall of Zimbabwe’ which we expect to go to ground by mld-2024.” During the period under review, WestProp posted a 23% increase in profit after tax to US$2,72 million during the period under review from the same period last year. “The revenue for the group increased marginally to US$11,770,480 during the period under review when compared to US$11,656,632 for the same period last year,” Louis said.
“Despite a marginal growth, the board has approved current projects to a value of US$147 million of sales and an anticipated gross profit of US$68 million. This is a confirmation that we are on track to deliver a gross profit in excess of US$20 million per year for the next three years.” He said operating expenses for the period under review amounted to US$2 374 208 compared to US41 249 458 for the same period last year, representing a US$1 124 750 increase. “The cost increase is due to Victoria Falls Stock Exchange initial public offer (IPO) and listing requirements which resulted in the group incurring ad hoc public relations, IPO, audit and professional fees, these were expensed in the half year ended June 30, 2023,” Louis said. However, a near 248% increase in its cash and cash equivalents during the half year left WestProp liquid with a current ratio of 4,7 at the end of June, leaving the firm able to cover any short-term debt. WestProp reported that a market-based valuation of its land banks inclusive of its 70% interest in Sunshine Developments (Private) Limited during the period half year period gave an aggregated fair value of US$207 750 000. Sunshine Developments (Private) Limited is a joint special purpose vehicle, between Harare City Council and Augur Investments, which belongs to WestProp chief executive officer Ken Sharpe. The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange-listed firm also declared a dividend of 46% of US$2,72 million, translating to US$0,04 per share payable to ordinary shareholders. -NewsDay

Contradicting previous accounts, Mumba stated on his Facebook blog that Guti had the ability to raise people from the dead during his meetings, a claim that contradicts Guti’s own wife, Eunor Guti.
In addition to these controversial statements, it has been revealed that Apostle Ezekiel Guti was a staunch supporter of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and allegedly benefited from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s mechanization scheme money, which was intended for the poor. Guti reportedly received over USD116,000 from the scheme and did not repay it.
The news of Apostle Ezekiel Guti’s passing at the age of 100 has sent shockwaves throughout the Pentecostal community. Dr. Nevers Mumba paid tribute to Guti, acknowledging his significant impact on the Pentecostal movement worldwide. Mumba noted that Guti was known for his remarkable ability to allegedly raise the dead in his meetings.
Mumba also shared a personal connection with Apostle Guti, recounting a meeting in 1996 when Guti encouraged him to enter the political arena, foreseeing that Mumba would be a trailblazer in the political world.
Apostle Ezekiel Guti’s legacy extends far beyond Zimbabwe, with his “church empire” reaching across the globe and Forward in Faith Churches established in numerous countries.
Dr. Nevers Mumba, along with his wife Florence and countless Zambians, expressed their heartfelt condolences to Mama Eunor Guti, the Guti family, and the members of Forward in Faith Ministries during this challenging time.
The passing of Apostle Ezekiel Guti marks the end of an era in the Pentecostal movement, leaving behind a legacy of controversy and devotion that will be remembered by many.

By A Correspondent| The Amalgamated Rural Teachers Union (ARTUZ) has claimed that the ruling Zanu PF heeded their earlier cry for the party to convert its hundreds of campaign vehicles to ambulances.
Zanu PF Secretary for Administration Obert Mpofu last week send out a directive to all losing Zanu PF candidates to surrender the party vehicles they were using with only winning candidates allowed to keep their 4 by 4 vehicles as appreciation for working hard for the party.
Posting on Twitter, ARTUZ said the Zanu PF vehicles are more useful for service delivery rather than being used by the 2023 candidates for their personal businesses.
“Seems like @ZANUPF_Official took heed of our call to recall campaign vehicles. These cars are more useful for service delivery,” ARTUZ said.
On 22 September, ARTUZ, tweeted;
“Elections are now behind us & @ZANUPF_Official is now ruling party. We kindly ask the ruling party to “donate” these cars to critical social service delivery departments. These campaign vehicles can make good ambulances for @MoHCCZim & mobility for schools inspectors for @MoPSEZim.”

Posting on Twitter this morning, Coltart said residents who miss a collection or those who clean their own areas should be exempted from refuse collection charges.

The trial of opposition politician Tendai Biti, who faced charges of verbally assaulting businesswoman and investor Mrs. Tatiana Aleshina at the Harare Magistrates Court in 2020, continued last Friday. However, Biti raised concerns about prosecutor Mr. Tafara Chirambira substituting for Deputy Prosecutor General Mr. Michael Reza.
Through his lawyer, Mr. Alec Muchadehama, Biti argued that it was improper for Mr. Chirambira to step in for Mr. Reza, as he had not been involved in the case previously and was unfamiliar with the trial’s proceedings and issues raised. Biti expressed his apprehension that continuing the trial under these circumstances would be coerced, particularly in Mr. Reza’s absence.
In response, Mr. Chirambira defended his role, asserting that it was not unprecedented for one prosecutor to take over from another. He stated that he had been assisting Mr. Reza from the outset and argued that Biti would not suffer any prejudice if there were gaps in his knowledge of the case. Mr. Chirambira emphasized the importance of bringing criminal trials to a conclusion rather than dragging them out indefinitely in the interest of justice.
Harare magistrate Mrs. Vongai Guwuriro rejected Biti’s objection, deeming it without merit, and instructed him to proceed with his defense. Biti then maintained that he had not entered a plea, contending that the charge against him was flawed. As a result, the trial was adjourned until October 10.
By Own Correspondent– Alen Ketani Mushana is an adept poet and gospel artist whose music educates, encourages and motivates listeners.
Inspired by Pastor Aaron Rusukira, Mushana’s songs are emotionally expressive and energizing with his latest offering relating to real life situations. He decided to follow the respected and influential preacher’s example and write songs in a sermon-like style using thrilling language full of significance, nostalgia and astonishment. He constantly and endlessly draws from Rusukira’s wisdom and has produced many powerful albums so far.
Mushana is an unsung hero, for he uses his music to preach to the world through his touching songs. He addresses the challenges and joys of life, comforting the sorrowful and inspiring the hopeful. He speaks the truth with courage and grace, following the footsteps of his mentor Rusukira. His songs are not only melodious and catchy, but also meaningful and relevant.
In this article, I will take a closer look at some of his songs, such as Tongai Mambo Guramatunhu, Ndaiva Ndafa, Memo, and Kwaisava Kuda Kwavo and explore their themes, messages and lessons.
The horror and the tragedy of incest.
The song Tongai Tione Mambo Guramatunhu is about a woman who found out that her husband and her daughter were having a sexual relationship. She was devastated and heartbroken by this discovery. She decided to seek justice from the Chief of the village, hoping to expose and punish this evil act.
The woman could not bear to see this abomination. She caught them in the act one day, and her world crumbled. She fell to her knees, crying and screaming. She could not believe the depths of this sin, and how it corrupted her family and the society.
However, her daughter and her husband did not feel any shame or remorse for their incestuous affair. They openly displayed their twisted love, and even taunted the mother to accept their fate. They claimed that they were happy and in love, and that nothing could separate them.
Incest has a negative impact on society, as it spreads moral decadence and tears families apart. Incest leaves a stain on the fabric of humanity, and it causes pain and despair to those who suffer from it.
Mushana’s tale invites us to reflect on the issue of incest, and how it affects the lives of those involved and those around them. It urges us to strive for purity and integrity in our relationships, and to pray for healing and restoration for those who live in fear and trauma.
Promiscuity in the Church
The song Ndaiva Ndafa, meaning I almost died, is a tale of peril, of a pastor’s wicked ways. The Pastor would seduce the married, with his honeyed words, and broke their vows, and left them hurt.
When confronted by a brave congregant for his evil deeds, the Pastor planned to kill him with a poisoned food. He sent a female usher with poisoned food to the man who rebuked him as a gift from him, and the man ate it unaware of the venom within.
He felt a surge of pain, in his stomach and skin. As he was suffering from poison, he heard the rumors of the sins pinned. Some said it was AIDS, some said it was a curse, but only his wife stood by him and nursed.
The man thought it was the end, as death came to descend, but a miracle happened, in the form of milk which he was given by a friend’s wife. It saved his life from the poison’s ilk. But the pain lingered, and the scars remained.
This song is a warning, to all who listen, to be careful of some pastors, for their motives are hidden. Stand firm in your faith, seek the truth from God. And remember, not all shepherds, have love in their hearts. Pastors abuse, with their power unrestrained. They neglect their duty, as the flock’s guides. They prey on the needy, with their selfish drives.
Child Neglect
This is a touching story that was inspired by a song called Uripiko Memo. Where are you Memo?
The song is a story about a woman who was left to take care of her daughter’s children, after her daughter Memo abandoned them and went to South Africa. The woman is old and poor, and she has a hard time providing for the children, who are naughty but innocent. She loves them dearly, and she tries to give them a good life.
The mother often calls out to her daughter, in a low and sad voice, asking her where she is and why she has abandoned her children. She pleads with her to remember her children, who are suffering and missing her. She wants her to come back and take responsibility for them, and to show them some love and care.
But Memo does not care about her mother or her children. She enjoys her life in a foreign land, where she has fun and freedom. She does not bother to communicate with her family, or to send them any money or support. She forgot about her duties and obligations, and leaves her mother to fight a lonely and hopeless battle.
The children are like street kids, who wandered around without any guidance or protection. They have no one to provide for them, or to give them a sense of belonging. They go to a school without uniform. They live in a world of shame and misery.
One day, a terrible thing happened to Memo’s daughter, who was only nine years old. She was raped by the son of the Chief of the village, who is a cruel and powerful man. He violated her innocence, and left her traumatized and hurt.
But her grandmother could not report the crime, because she feared the consequences. If she speaks out, she will be chased away from the village, and lose the little she has. She is trapped between a rock and a hard place, and she does not know what to do.
This song is a reflection of the reality of many mothers and children in Zimbabwe, who face the challenges of poverty, neglect, and abuse. It is a reminder of the importance of being responsible and loving to those we bring into this world, and to protect them from the evils of this world. It is a call for justice and healing, for those who suffer and endure.
‘It was not her will’
Another touching story that was inspired by a song called Kwaisava kuda kwavo. This song is a story about a family that was broken by poverty, disease, and neglect. The children lost their mother to HIV/AIDS, after she resorted to sex work to provide for them. Their father had abandoned them long ago, and their relatives did not care about them. They had to fend for themselves, and face many hardships and dangers.
The children remembered their mother, who loved them dearly, and tried to give them a good life. She was a hardworking and caring woman, who did not want to engage in sex work, but had no other choice. She was forced by the circumstances, and she sacrificed her well-being for her children. She hoped that they would have a better future, and that they would not suffer like her.
But her hope was shattered, when she contracted HIV/AIDS, a deadly disease that has no cure. She became weak and sick, and she knew that she was going to die. She did not tell her children, because she did not want to scare them. She tried to hide her pain, and to smile for them. But one day, she passed away, leaving them alone and orphaned.
The children were devastated by their mother’s death, and they felt lost and hopeless. They had no one to look after them, or to love them. Their relatives, who were supposed to help them, turned a blind eye, and ignored them. They only wanted to take their mother’s belongings, and to inherit her wealth. They did not care about the children, or their needs.
The children had to survive on their own, and they faced many challenges and struggles. They had no food, no clothes, no shelter, no education, no protection. They sometimes had to steal, to get something to eat. They did some piece jobs, to earn some money. They used every ounce of strength, to keep hope alive.
The story is a plea, from the children, to the fathers of the world. Fathers are being asked to be responsible, and to take care of their families. They should prevent the tragedy, and ensure, that no child suffers, with a broken heart.
Mushana is not only a singer, but also a preacher who uses his songs to convey the gospel and the moral values of Christianity. He has sung many songs that touch on various topics, such as repentance, faith, hope, love, forgiveness, and social justice.
Some of his songs are Ndichaiwana Mhinduro, Handina Kuziva, and Zvandakaona. His songs are aimed at teaching people about the importance of having a personal relationship with God and living according to His will.
Alen Ketani Mushana is more than just a singer. He is a voice of inspiration and an unsung hero in Zimbabwe. Through his songs, he comforts and calls people to repent and to come to God. He also addresses the social issues and challenges that many Zimbabweans face, such as incest, child neglect, poverty, and corruption.
His songs are not only entertaining, but also educational and motivational. He uses his talent and passion to serve God and his nation. He deserves to be recognized and appreciated for his contribution to the arts industry and the society at large
GOVERNMENT has appealed to mining companies in Mashonaland West province to assist in rescue efforts for over 10 illegal miners believed to be still trapped underground at Bay Horse Mine in Chegutu.
Ten miners were confirmed dead yesterday, while rescue efforts were still underway for the remainder, with the rescue teams using rudimentary equipment in the exercise.
Twenty-one artisanal miners were rescued with four receiving treatment at Chegutu District Hospital following the disaster which struck on Friday.
Addressing journalists and rescue teams after visiting the accident scene yesterday, Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs and Devolution minister Marian Chombo said 10 people have been confirmed dead, while four bodies have since been retrieved.
“We are not sure of the number but we are told that 42 artisanal miners went underground, but the number could be more since some get inside the mine using undesignated entry points,” Chombo said.
She appealed to big mining companies in Mashonaland West including ZimPlats, Pickstone and Golden Valley to dispatch rescue machinery to the site.
“We appeal to big mining companies like ZimPlats, Golden Valley and others to come and help retrieve the bodies trapped underground” Chombo said.
A provincial civil protection committee has set up base at the mine as rescue operations continue.
Husain Phiri, who is leading the rescue mission, told journalists on Saturday that the rock was also holding the shaft wall from collapsing and they cannot do any blasting,
Phiri also indicated that the shaft pillars had collapsed, making it difficult to reach out to the trapped miners.
The mine is a few kilometres from Cricket Mine in Battlefields, Mashonaland West, which collapsed and killed 23 illegal gold miners in 2019.-newsday
By A Correspondent- Beitbridge children looking for firewood this weekend stumbled on the body of a man suspected to have been killed by armed robbers close to the Limpopo River near the railway line.
The deceased man is believed to be a porter commonly called Zalawi in Beitbridge where the name refers to people who emerged out a living by carrying heavy goods for shoppers returning from South Africa.
The deceased had been reported missing having been attacked by robbers. His body was decomposing.
Beitbridge Police District commander Chief Superintendent Tichaona Nyongo confirmed the discovery and said remains had been taken to Beitbridge District Hospital.
“We have received a sudden death report. Children who were looking for firewood at the railway line behind St Marry’s Secondary School came across a body of a male adult. They went to advise their parent who then made a report to the police,” he said.
“The body has a stab wound at the left rib cage. The body matches that of a person (Zalawi) who was reported missing on September 29 this year after an attack by robbers two days earlier on September 27.The body is now in a decomposing state,” he said.
Nyongo said police were arranging for identification of the deceased and that a case of murder had been opened and accused people are yet unknown.
Meanwhile some suspected criminals flushed out from underneath the New Limpopo Bridge by South African Police Service (SAPS) were deported to Zimbabwe where they have already been charged for leaving the country by evasion.
They are expected in the Magistrate’s Court at Beitbridge tomorrow for sentence after they pleaded guilty.
The men created a hideout under the bridge and are also suspected of being nuisances to unsuspecting travellers and border jumpers.
A Zambian telecommunications company, Rock Telecom Limited, had 80,000 mobile phones valued at US$352,930 confiscated by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) due to a failed smuggling attempt.
Rock Telecom Limited had its 81,540 mobile phones seized by Zimra, which led to the matter being taken to the High Court after the company’s attempts to recover the devices were unsuccessful.
The High Court rejected the company’s application after considering arguments from both sides.
Rock Telecom had sought a court order declaring that Zimra’s confiscation of its Tecno mobile phones was highly irregular. They argued that Zimra had failed to establish a clear violation of the Customs and Excise Act.
Additionally, the Zambian company contended that Zimra’s confiscation of its mobile phones was overly severe, excessive, and unjust, as the authority could have imposed a penalty as provided for by the law.
However, High Court Judge David Mangota dismissed the application, stating that the arguments put forward by Rock Telecom lacked merit.
“It follows from a reading of the above-analysed matters that the applicant’s last ground of review is devoid of merit. It is dismissed as well. The applicant, it is evident, failed to prove its case on a balance of probabilities. The application is, in the result, dismissed with costs,” he ruled.
Rock Telcom had stated that in October 2022, it imported 96,820 Tecno mobile phones from China intended for delivery to Zambia, its country of origin. The company had engaged a transporter, Allied Customs Freight, who submitted a manifest and registered a bill of entry.
Zimra officials conducted a physical examination of the goods and discovered that the clearing agent had under-declared the number of phones in the shipment.
Upon finding that 81,540 mobile phones valued at US$352,930 were not declared, Zimra seized the phones. Rock Telcom subsequently wrote to Zimra, informing them that their agent had under-declared the goods despite being provided with all the necessary documentation.
Zandile Sibanda clung desperately to her 14-year-old daughter, Sikhulile Sibanda, who had fallen victim to an early child marriage, as she took her final breath after suffering from a severe illness for eight months as a result of giving birth at a young age.
Ms. Sibanda, who wept uncontrollably while recounting her daughter’s ordeal, tried in vain to revive Sikhulile. Her daughter’s last words were “mama, mama umntwanami” (mother, mother my child), seemingly referring to her eight-month-old baby.
Sikhulile, from the Lumene area in Gwanda District, became pregnant in April last year at the age of 13 by a 27-year-old man named Munashe Ncube. She was supposed to start Form One at the time.
Ncube eloped with Sikhulile early last year when she was expected to begin Form One. Her family reported her disappearance, only to later discover that Sikhulile and Ncube had been found in the Inyathi area after she had given birth.
Sikhulile’s maternal grandfather, Mr. Stanley Ngwenya, who was residing with the teenager, explained that she had disappeared from home in January of the previous year.
After giving birth, Sikhulile developed a heart problem and suffered internal organ damage due to prolonged labor. She was hospitalized multiple times until her death in the early hours of September 9 in South Africa, where she was living under her mother’s care. She was laid to rest last weekend at her mother’s homestead in Lumene Village.
“We discovered that Sikhulile was involved with this man when she was 12 years old, and we reprimanded her. We even took her to Stanmore Clinic for a medical examination to check if she was pregnant, and the results came back negative,” Mr. Ngwenya recalled.
“A few weeks later, we realized she was missing, and she had taken some of her clothes with her. We went to the homestead where this man used to work as a herdsman near our home, and we learned that he had also disappeared.”
Mr. Ngwenya reported the matter to the police. However, they faced difficulties in locating Ncube since the neighbors who had employed him did not have his personal information.
Mr. Ngwenya received a call from community members in Inyathi and the local police in April, informing him that his granddaughter was critically ill. He and his wife rushed to Inyathi, only to discover that Sikhulile had given birth without her family’s knowledge while staying with Ncube’s aunt in Inyathi.
Sikhulile’s maternal grandmother, Ms. Patricia Tshuma, described her granddaughter’s deteriorating condition. She explained that Sikhulile could hardly stand or walk when she arrived in Inyathi, with her stomach and feet swollen.
Ms. Tshuma discovered that Ncube had coached Sikhulile to lie about her age to health officials in Inyathi, claiming she was 18. Sikhulile’s medical condition worsened after childbirth, which led to neighbors alerting the police.
“Sikhulile was transported to Mpilo Central Hospital, where she received treatment. She was in a critical condition, unable to breastfeed her baby. The doctors informed us that she had a heart problem and internal injuries due to prolonged labor,” Ms. Tshuma explained.
“She was hospitalized for several weeks before being discharged. Her condition deteriorated once again, and she was admitted to Gwanda Provincial Hospital before being referred to Mpilo Central Hospital.”
Sikhulile was eventually discharged and returned home. Her mother, who resided in South Africa, took her to the neighboring country for further treatment and monitoring.
Ms. Sibanda explained that Sikhulile arrived in South Africa on August 3, and two days later, she was admitted to Thembisa Hospital in Johannesburg for about three weeks.
“I was convinced that the worst was over, as she kept telling me that she was feeling better. On September 8, she appeared fine and even prepared dinner before we went to bed. The next morning around 4 AM, her condition suddenly deteriorated,” Ms. Sibanda said.
“She began coughing and vomiting blood, struggling to breathe. Sikhulile asked me to take her outside, and I did. While we were outside, I cradled her head in my lap as she gasped for breath. Her final words were ‘mama, mama umntwanami’ before she fell silent.”
According to the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC), nearly 34 percent of girls under the age of 18 are married nationwide. The commission expressed concern about the increase in child marriages and the exploitation of young women. Zimbabwe is committed to eliminating child marriage, as demonstrated by the launch of the National Action Plan on Ending Child Marriage and rulings by the Constitutional Court to outlaw the practice.
The recently passed Marriage Bill in Parliament brings the country closer to enacting legislation that will fundamentally address child marriages. The bill explicitly prohibits child marriages and declares them illegal under all circumstances.
By A Correspondent- Self exiled former Zanu-PF national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere claims President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration is out to grab his ConCorpia Farm in Mazowe, Mashonaland Central province, following a foiled bid to contest for presidency in the just-ended harmonised elections.
CCC Namibia donates to Maramba Pfungwe Councillor, Taonana Peter!a
28 September 2023.
Following the arson perpetrated by ZANU-PF thugs on a CCC council candidate, Taonana Peter’s house, social democrats in Namibia offered solidarity to the victim. The Vibrant District donated some cash to assist the diligent councilor in rebuilding his burnt house. CCC Namibia believes in shelter as a basic human right enshrined in the supreme law of the land. Going around setting alight opponents’ houses epitomizes illegitimacy and subversion of the will of the people.
Namibia district urges all social transformers to embrace participatory democracy by aiding and supporting those who are victims of politically motivated violence on account of politics. Councillor Taonana Peter has the right to join a political party of his choice. It is now imperative to unite against the abuse of the basic fundamental human rights in Zimbabwe. It is constitutional to represent wards, constituencies, and the country through the ballot. Why is ZANU PF victimizing change champions for believing in the astute leadership of the President, Advocate Nelson Chamisa?
All progressive citizens across the globe must rise in support of change-seekers who are being abused by the unconstitutional government. It is our moral obligation to toe the principle of “injury to one is an injury to all”. CCC Namibia pledges to continue standing not only with Clr Peter Taonana of Maramba Pfungwe but with all and sundry. Right now, CCC polling agents and candidates who participated in the recently held shambolic elections are being arbitrarily arrested, tortured, and abducted by the securocrats across the breadth and lengths of the motherland.
As a district that subscribes to the national democratic revolution, we call upon the citizens to embrace dangerous freedom demanding the rule of law and constitutionalism. Burning someone’s house is criminal and must be resisted with equal measure. The people of Zimbabwe should come and reason together, and speak with one amplified voice advocating for fresh free, fair, and credible elections. SADC and AU need to be complemented through peaceful demonstrations in the country. We can’t be glued on social media complaining with our hands folded.
Whilst our leadership is still mobilizing provinces towards a clarion call to reverse illegitimacy, the diaspora assemblies should lead at various Zimbabwe Houses across the globe putting diplomatic and political pressure on the satanic regime. Citizens in Namibia laud change advocates in the US and the United Kingdom for speaking audibly against rigging by Zec and ZANU PF. CCC Namibia is also planning to hold their protest in Windhoek on a date to be announced.
We are pleading with the host President, Hage Geingob to allow disgruntled citizens resident in Namibia to demonstrate their fury on the day in question. Zimbabweans are sick and tired of selling cockroach poison in the streets of Windhoek. Being a headache across the globe must come to an abrupt end! We deserve better livelihoods as a citizenry. Solidarity! Solidarity! Solidarity! Let’s offer solidarity to all victims of thugocracy and gross abuse of human rights in Zimbabwe.
CCC Namibia encourages more citizens to donate to our victim of arson in Maramba Pfungwe. Please stand to be counted as we confront the diabolical regime. Thank you, interim chairperson Elisha Chambara for leading us! Salutations to the interim chairperson for Rundu Branch Simbarashe Ndoda for pushing us through this revolutionary gesture! We shall remain grateful to our organic and pragmatic Windhoek, Rundu, Northern branches, etc. for contributing towards Clr Peter Taonana.
Namibia district is ready to prosecute the national democratic struggle to its logical conclusion. We shall remain committed and dedicated to the fight for freedom, equality, and justice. We demand justice for Peter Taonana!

Man Accused of Brutal Double Homicide Apprehended in Botswana.
By Farai D Hove | Zimbabwean suspected figitive Clever Ngwenya (35), who is from Lupane in Matabeleland North, has been arrested in Botswana after allegedly brutally murdering his elderly parents, Mildress Ngwenya (71) and Simon Shoemaker Ngwenya (73), two weeks ago. The gruesome incident occurred at Gwalubha village under Chief Mabhikwa area, sending shockwaves through the community.
It remains unclear what motivated Clever Ngwenya to commit this heinous crime, but he reportedly told one of his brothers that he needed to discuss something with his parents before savagely attacking them. Armed with a kitchen knife, he fatally stabbed his mother before turning on his father.
The horrific murders left the community in fear, forcing the suspect’s siblings to seek refuge at a police station for three nights to escape potential harm.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed Clever Ngwenya’s arrest, stating, “Yes, he was arrested on September 25 in Botswana after skipping the border. Our police officers, working with their Botswana counterparts, arrested him, and he was repatriated back to the country on September 28. He will face the full wrath of the law.”
The successful arrest was attributed to the close cooperation between the Zimbabwe Republic Police and the Botswana Police Service under the Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Coordination (SARPCCO) and Interpol.
Assistant Commissioner Nyathi expressed concerns over the rising trend of violent crimes, especially within families, saying, “This is not the first time we have recorded such an incident. As police, we want to call for calm and that family members should find peaceful ways of resolving conflicts.”
In a previous incident in Mangwe, Lisani Marcellus Nleya (46) had allegedly killed his parents, Nicholas Kini Nleya (83) and Margret Nleya (78), both retired teachers and prominent villagers, in a gruesome manner on September 1, 2020.
Acting Chief Mabhikwa, in response to Clever Ngwenya’s arrest, commended the police for their efforts but noted that the community was still living in fear. He urged the family to investigate the root causes of the incident and stressed the need for peaceful conflict resolution within communities.
The community remains deeply shocked by the brutal double homicide, and the police are calling for calm while seeking to address the underlying issues contributing to such violent crimes within the region.- ZIANA
In a tale of tragedy, Ms. Zandile Sibanda held her 14-year-old daughter, Sikhulile Sibanda, in her arms as the young girl took her last breath, victimized by an early child marriage that led to months of severe illness. The story unfolds in Lumene, Gwanda District, where the consequences of a disturbing early marriage have shaken a community.
Sikhulile, just 13 years old at the time, was impregnated in April of the previous year by Munashe Ncube, a 27-year-old man. She had her whole life ahead of her, yet it was forever altered by this illicit relationship.
Ncube eloped with Sikhulile when she was about to start Form One, effectively robbing her of her education and childhood. Her family reported her disappearance, unaware of her whereabouts until they received the shocking news that she had given birth.
Sikhulile’s maternal grandfather, Mr. Stanley Ngwenya, recounted the family’s efforts to locate the missing teenager. They reported her disappearance to the police, but Ncube’s absence made the search more challenging.
However, a phone call from concerned community members in Inyathi revealed a dire situation. Sikhulile had fallen critically ill, and her family rushed to her side, only to discover the full extent of her ordeal. She had secretly given birth without her family’s knowledge, and her health had deteriorated significantly.
After giving birth, Sikhulile suffered from a heart problem and internal organ damage due to prolonged labor. She was hospitalized several times until she tragically passed away in the early hours of September 9 while living in South Africa under her mother’s care. Her young life was cut short, and she was laid to rest at her mother’s homestead in Lumene Village.
Sikhulile’s maternal grandmother, Ms. Patricia Tshuma, described her granddaughter’s dire medical condition upon arrival in Inyathi. Ncube had deceived health officials about her age, presenting her as 18 years old. However, it became evident that her health was deteriorating rapidly, prompting neighbors to alert the authorities.
Despite efforts to save her life, Sikhulile’s condition worsened, leading to her untimely death. Her last words, uttered to her grieving mother, were “mama, mama umntwanami” (mother, mother my child), a heartbreaking plea.
This tragic incident sheds light on the devastating consequences of child marriages in Zimbabwe. According to the Zimbabwe Gender Commission (ZGC), nearly 34 percent of girls under 18 are married countrywide, highlighting the urgent need to address this issue. The passing of the Marriage Bill in Parliament, which prohibits child marriages and provides legal protection for young girls, represents a significant step toward combating this harmful practice.
Sikhulile’s story serves as a painful reminder of the importance of protecting the rights and futures of young girls and ending child marriages in Zimbabwe.- state media
Exiled former Zanu PF commissar Saviour Kasukuwere’s movement has announced its intention to challenge President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s recent decision to exempt over 20 state-owned companies from the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act. This move, made on Friday, has raised concerns about transparency and accountability in Zimbabwe’s government entities.
The affected companies, including Zesa, TelOne, POSB, Zupco, NetOne, Powertel, Air Zimbabwe, Hwange Colliery Company, Cottco, and Air Zimbabwe, have been transferred under the newly named Mutapa Sovereign Wealth.
Kasukuwere, who was barred from participating in last month’s presidential elections due to his extended stay abroad, voiced his concerns about the implications of these regulatory changes. He argued that the exemption of state entities from the Act would make them susceptible to abuse and corruption.
The movement stated, “The negative implications of such a move are numerous and mean that those assets clandestinely transferred into the Mutapa Fund are now subject to gross abuse and looting without public disclosure.”
One of the main concerns raised is that this exemption allows the government to bypass due processes when procuring goods and services through the fund. This could potentially lead to assets being disposed of at values that don’t reflect their true worth, benefitting individuals with close ties to Mnangagwa’s administration.
Kasukuwere’s movement concluded, “In short, Zimbabweans have been disposed of effective and judicious control of assets, and Mnangagwa has, in effect, taken full control of them under the Mutapa Fund without being answerable to anyone on how these assets operate or are disposed of in the future.”
Former Finance minister Tendai Biti questioned the legality of Mnangagwa’s actions, arguing that he did not have the authority to change the name of the Sovereign Wealth Fund and transfer the shareholding of state enterprises without involving Parliament.
Veteran economist Tony Hawkins emphasized that Zimbabwe should look to countries like Norway, Botswana, and others in the Middle East that use sovereign wealth funds to diversify their economies and utilize domestic savings.
This controversy highlights a growing concern over Mnangagwa’s use of statutory instruments to enact significant measures without parliamentary oversight, raising questions about the rule of law and transparency in Zimbabwe’s government.- Agencies
By Dorothy Moyo | In a concerning turn of events, Zimbabwe is teetering on the brink of a major power crisis, casting a shadow over government promises of reliable electricity supply. The dire situation has come to light with revelations that the Zimbabwe Electricity Transmission and Distribution Company (ZETDC) is burdened by a staggering debt exceeding US$60 million, stemming from the newly commissioned Hwange Unit 7 & 8 power plants.
Hwange Units 7 & 8, crucial sources have disclosed, were constructed under contracts based in US dollars, with significant private foreign investments fuelling the expansion endeavor. Disturbingly, it has been disclosed that ZETDC is currently purchasing electricity at a rate of US$0.12 per kilowatt-hour, yet selling it to consumers at an average cost of US$0.10 per kilowatt-hour—below the cost of production.
The combined power output of these units stands at 600MW, with the entire project incurring a colossal cost of US$1.5 billion, carried out by Sinohydro Corporation. Importantly, Zesa, the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority, is obligated to pay Sinohydro in foreign currency for Hwange Units 7 & 8, while consumers pay in local currency. This tariff disparity has resulted in unsustainable financial strains, with many consumers, particularly local authorities, unable to meet their obligations.
The situation has the potential to strain relations with Chinese contractors, as payment defaults loom large. Currently, Zimbabwe’s power utility is importing a mere fraction of its previous supply from Mozambique, a decline from 200MW to approximately 10MW, due to outstanding debts. Furthermore, Zambia’s Zesco has ceased the supply of 100MW to Zimbabwe, citing poor contract performance.
The national power utility is grappling with debts exceeding $150 billion from consumers, including local authorities. Analysts argue that a tariff review is imperative to enable ZETDC to secure electricity imports and bridge the alarming supply and demand gap. The current tariff structure is deemed inadequate to support the nation’s economy.
This precarious situation poses a severe threat to Zimbabwe’s social and economic development, as energy is a driving force behind progress. The chronic shortage of a reliable power supply could lead to substantial economic losses.
Energy and Power Development minister Edgar Moyo has acknowledged the gravity of the situation, emphasizing the need to eliminate load shedding. He called for prioritizing productive sectors and transparent communication in the implementation of load shedding schedules, underscoring the urgency of addressing this looming crisis.

Emmerson Mnangagwa has celebrated while hinting that he has everything under control at SADC. Speaking at a party meeting at the weekend, Mnangagwa said his opponent Nelson Chamisa’s call for a re-run is a pipe dream. Zimbabwe and the region( SADC) are moving into the future, he said.
His comments come at a time when SADC election observer mission head, Nevers Mumba refused to reverse his election-rigging/genocide triggering video statement supporting Mnangagwa and Uebert Angel over the continentwide goldmafia funded election-rigging that has destroyed the economies of several African countries since 1992 (Kenya).
His comments also come at a time when it was revealed that Mumba has been his ally since 1996, and as late as Sept 2023, has been collaborating with the disgraced ambassador and ‘prophet’ Uebert Angel.
Analyzing the Excitement and Dangers of Nevers Mumba’s Involvement in Politics.
This following is a history of Nevers Mumba, with a focus on his interactions with Emmerson Mnangagwa. The timeline provided highlights key events in their careers, leading up to the present day in 2023, where Mumba’s actions have raised concerns regarding their impact on regional politics, especially in Zimbabwe and Zambia.
Historical Context: 1996 – Joburg Church Conference: In 1996, a Joburg church conference saw Nevers Mumba and Emmerson Mnangagwa conspiring to gain power in Zambia and Zimbabwe through self-proclaimed personal prophecies. Mnangagwa was represented by his chief prophet, Andrew Wutaunashe. Much if this is seen on function videos plus interviews.
2004 – Demotion and Regret: Both Mumba and Mnangagwa faced demotion in their respective countries for perceived ambition and rebellion. Zambia’s Levy Mwanawasa, who initially appointed Mumba, reportedly regretted his decision, believing there were more deserving party comrades.
2009 – Mwanawasa’s Assassination: Mumba’s return to government was a result of the suspected assassination of his rival, Mwanawasa (Mnangagwa accused of orchestarating it). This event marked a significant turning point in their political careers.
2014 – Bouncing Back: In 2014, Mumba reentered presidential politics and formed alliances with more capable individuals, while Mnangagwa was promoted to Vice Presidency.
2017 – Mnangagwa’s Dismissal: Mnangagwa was dismissed by Mugabe in 2017 due to perceived ambition and rebellion, continuing the pattern seen throughout his career.
2023 – Controversial SADC Report: In August 2023, Nevers Mumba’s refusal to retract a video statement claiming sanctions on Zimbabwe raised concerns. This statement potentially endangered his appointer and the entire SADC mission to Zimbabwe’s elections. The video potentially neutralises the soncalled damning SADC report on Zimbabwe’s 2023 elections.
Analysis: The recurring pattern of ambition and rebellion in both Nevers Mumba and Emmerson Mnangagwa’s political careers is evident from childhood to 2023. This behaviour has led to demotions, dismissals, and controversies.
The 2023 incident involving Mumba’s SADC report on Zimbabwe has sparked controversy. While Zambians believe the report is damning, some argue that it is defective and primarily serves Mumba’s interests. Dr. Brilliant Pongo suggests that the findings are not as damning as portrayed and that Mnangagwa’s dramatic reaction has amplified the perception of the report’s severity.
Mumba has been reached for comment since 27th August and has admitted to the Joburg 1996 meeting but said he is not supporting Mnangagwa. SADC was still to comment at the time of writing.
The political trajectories of Nevers Mumba and Emmerson Mnangagwa have been marked by ambition, rebellion, and controversy. The 2023 incident involving Mumba’s SADC report adds another layer of complexity to their history, potentially impacting regional politics. Further analysis and diplomatic efforts may be required to address the ongoing tensions and perceptions surrounding their actions.
