ZANU PF Chairperson Accidentally Leaks Sensitive Photos in WhatsApp Group

By Showbiz Reporter | In a surprising and embarrassing turn of events, a ZANU PF Chairperson has accidentally leaked personal photographs into a party-affiliated WhatsApp group, triggering a wave of internal strife and public backlash. The incident, which has sent shockwaves through Zimbabwe’s ruling party, underscores deep-seated divisions within Emmerson Mnangagwa’s political camp.

The chairperson, whose identity remains undisclosed for ethical considerations, has not been afforded the usual protective measures typically extended to high-ranking officials in similar predicaments. Unlike other institutions that might swiftly move to shield the individual’s identity and delete the images, ZANU PF has chosen to leave the matter exposed, suggesting significant internal discord.

Sources close to the situation report that the leaked images, while not explicitly detailed, have nonetheless provoked outrage among party members. The chairperson has yet to issue a public statement or respond to inquiries from ZimEye, leaving a cloud of speculation and uncertainty over the incident.

Party insiders, speaking on condition of anonymity, have expressed severe disapproval of the chairperson’s actions. “She is promoting bad character and must be removed from her position,” one disgruntled member told ZimEye, reflecting a growing sentiment among the party’s rank and file.

This incident highlights potential implosions within Mnangagwa’s party, with factions seemingly willing to capitalize on the chairperson’s misstep to further their own agendas. The reluctance to close ranks and defend one of their own suggests a level of pettiness and infighting that could have broader implications for ZANU PF’s unity and stability.

Political analysts suggest that the lack of immediate, cohesive response from the party’s top brass indicates deeper issues at play. “This isn’t just about a few leaked photos,” commented Harare-based political analyst, Lenny Makwaza. He continued saying- “It’s a symptom of larger fractures within ZANU PF, where personal vendettas and factionalism are starting to overshadow the party’s collective goals.”

The chairperson’s future within the party hangs in the balance as the incident continues to unfold. As ZANU PF grapples with the fallout, questions about leadership, accountability, and the ability to maintain internal cohesion will undoubtedly come to the forefront.

Stay tuned to ZimEye for further updates on this breaking story.

VAR Error Spoils Match

CONMEBOL have officially confirmed that VAR made a mistake last night not awarding penalty for Brazil against Colombia in the 42nd minute of the game for a foul on Vinícius Junior.

Var incorrectly confirmed the field decision after not being able to identify that the defender does not touch the ball before recklessly tackling Vinícius. The referee did not observe the action and VAR analyzed wrong angles of the action.

Has Fred M’membe Deleted Sata’s Speech On Repeating PF Implosions Since 2008?

… @FRED M’MEMBE SHOULD BE REMINDED THAT PF HAS BEEN HAVING INTRA-PARTY CONFLICTS FROM THE TIME IT WAS FORMED; FRED SHOULD SOBER UP AND NOT DRAG HIS YOUNG BROTHER HH INTO DIRTY POLITICS

By Mark Simuuwe | It is shameful for Fred M’membe to assume that President Hakainde Hichilema is responsible for the Patriotic Front( PF) members of parliament who lost their seats.

Saturday Post newspaper headline

Firstly , Fred as a PF member knows that PF has never had meaningful intra-party elections devoid of confusion from the time it was established.

The party was not founded on clean democratic rules . This is what gets them in trouble every-time they want to have a new leader .

PF has been suffering from a leadership crisis ; they literally have no potential and meaningful leaders to take over from Sata . PF died with Sata .

This is why President Sata once said , “there would be a vacuum in PF without me “. covered by Fred M’membe’s Postnewspaper dated around 19th July 2006.

This is the vacuum Sata was referring to . From 2015, there has been a vacuum . Though the vacuum in essence started right when PF was formed .

A blog article except back in 2008

In fact , PF leaders have been fighting from the time President Micheal Sata established the party, even at a time they had MPs in parliament.

At some point , Sata expelled all PF MPs for supporting MMD motion in parliament , and these were supposed to have lost their seats as far as PF was concerned , but the MPs sought legal intervention in court because they thought they were expelled for playing their parliamentary roles .

Hence , the idea of expelling MPs is not new under the PF .

The only MP who was left out was Hon Mumbi Phiri. So this is not a new development and we should not be surprised.

This behavior of not tolerating divergent views is partly what made Edgar Lungu to close the Postnewspaper , apart from Fred M’membe’s divisive behavior and lopsided way of looking at things. Fred is toxic and a bitter man who has no permanent friends .

The PF fights continued even after Micheal Sata died with Chishimba , Jean Kapata fighting for the Edgar Lungu candidature who soon turned against KAMBWILI after he( ECL) became president and also went for KBF and Harry Kalaba .

ECL went for Harry Kalaba , Miles Sampa , KAMBWILI , Chitalu Chilufya , and KBF because these had presidential ambitions. This is one known PF characteristic; they fight amongst themselves when they aspire for positions instead of allowing grassroots to vote for them democratically.

Citizens may also recall that when it was time for the PF to adopt a presidential candidate after Micheal Sata’s death , Edgar Lungu and Miles Sampa viciously fought forcing Miles to leave the PF and only came back when mayoral elections were called in Lusaka . This is Sampa’s biggest weakness . Once there is an opportunity, he leaves all his brains and political morality and fronts self at the expense of others . He is an opportunist. But we can’t blame him because it is his constitutional right .

Today , we are not surprised that Edgar Lungu and Miles Sampa , are fighting , forcing Sampa to call for a snap election of himself as President of PF , and later dissolving himself and all positions he created , to reconcile and dine with ECL again .

Back to the expelled MPs . Sampa , as per PF behavior, expelled the nine affected MPs by writing the speaker of the National Assembly to also declare their seats vacant .

Article (72) of the constitution of Zambia is instructive on vacation of MPs from parliament when the party that sponsored them expels them .

It is even difficult for any court to do anything if the expulsion letters are properly before the speaker and the procedure has been followed . What this means is that , the MPs are gone !

To this effect , citizens may recall that when the parliamentary recess was called off and parley resumed , the speaker acted on the letter from the PF in the same manner the notice of new Chief Whip appointment was acted upon .

It is not the speaker , or HH or UPND who wrote that letter . It is the PF themselves.

Then how can this unreasonable citizen called Fred M’membe think , with all this dirty history of PF leadership , that HH is responsible for the vacant seats ?

Fred M’membe must sober up . He is too old for such kind of dirty politics. We expect him to practice mature politics and even show more maturity than his young brother HH .

Linda Masarira Demands Retraction of ZNA Commander Statement

4 July 2024

Lieutenant General Anslem Nhamo Sanyatwe’s assertion that the army backs ZANU-PF and will engage in command voting is a blatant affront to democracy and a gross violation of our constitution.

Section 211(3) explicitly mandates the army to uphold the fundamental human rights and freedoms of all citizens and remain non-partisan in their actions.

It is essential for all army personnel to receive training on constitutionalism and human rights before making public statements that expose their ignorance.

Zimbabwe is a multiparty democracy, and we demand free, fair, and credible elections where no political party is disenfranchised.

We expect a prompt apology and retraction from the General.

George Charamba Defends Sanyatwe

By A Correspondent| Presidential Spokesperson George Charamba has defended Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander Anselem Sanyatwe over his remarks that they will sanction command voting if Zanu-PF’s power is threatened.

Posting on X, Charamba through his controversial dhonzamusoro account said military orders are not issued in villages to villagers but in barracks and military settings.

He said Sanyatwe was in his rural home and addressing a family gathering.

“Armies run on orders which are issued at parades and some such military settings. I am unaware of any order which is issued in a village and before villagers. Musatingwaudza nenyaya isipo. The General was in his home community and addressing his community-family. End of story. Kana wavhundutswa nezvakataurwa ipapo une purobulem. Igadzirise. Joy As New Home Affairs Minister Extends ZEPs Expiry Date

South Africa-The new Home Affairs, Dr Leon Schreiber, has extended the expiry of the Zimbabwe Exemption Permits to December 31, 2024.

Holders of the ZEPs are currently awaiting the outcome of visa, waiver and appeal applications.

There are an estimated 170,000 Zimbabweans living and working in South Africa under the Zimbabwe Exemption Permits (ZEP), and some of their applications for renewal are yet to be finalised.

In a statement Thursday, the SA Department of Home Affairs said this extension safeguarded applicants, including those who were contributing to the South African economy through their scarce skills.

Dr Schreiber, a member of the Democratic Alliance who was appointed to Cabinet under the Government of National Unity this week, said the workers were suffering from the adverse consequences of being erroneously deemed undesirable, while they awaited the outcome of applications submitted to the Department of Home Affairs.

The temporary concession applies only to foreign nationals who have been legally admitted into South Africa and those who have submitted their applications via VFS Global and who can produce a verifiable receipt for such application against the VFS Global tracking system.

“The processing of some of these applications has been delayed as the department works on reducing backlogs,” said the department in the statement.

“While the department has made progress in this regard since its previous communication on the matter, there is still a backlog in various visa and permit categories and Minister Schreiber has now moved to protect applicants while the backlog is reduced.
“The decision to avert adverse consequences for applicants who seek to obtain lawful visas in order to contribute to South Africa, either through their skills or as tourists, signals the minister’s commitment to improving the visa system to make South Africa a more attractive destination for international investment, tourism and job creation.”

The department said the decision to extend the temporary concession served as a signal of intent to reinvigorate the Department of Home Affairs and position it as a vital economic enabler.

In order to build confidence in this new approach, the Minister was committed to avoiding a repeat of the current situation, which had seen the previous concession expire prior to the extension being announced.

“The temporary measures will apply with immediate effect and applicants whose waiver application outcomes are still pending, visa holders who have applied for a waiver and the waiver application is still pending as at June 30, 2024, are granted a further temporary extension until December 31, 2024, to enable the Department to process the applications, for applicants to collect their outcomes, and to submit applications for appropriate visas,” said the Department.
“Those who wish to abandon their waiver applications and depart from South Africa, will be allowed to exit at a port of entry before or on December 31, 2024, without being declared undesirable in terms of section 30(1)(h) of the Immigration Act, 2002 read with regulation 27(3) of the Immigration Regulations, 2014.
“Visa holders who need to travel but are awaiting the outcome of a waiver application, will be allowed to exit and re-enter at a port of entry up to and including December 31, 2024, without being declared undesirable in terms of section 30(1)(h) of the Immigration Act, 2002 read with regulation 27(3) of the Immigration Regulations, 2014.”
Non-visa exempt applicants who travelled out of the country with a waiver application receipt were required to apply for a port of entry visa, which would allow them re-entry into South Africa.
Under the new order, visa holders who had applied for long-term visas, business visas, study visas, relatives’ visas and work visas and whose application was still pending as at June 30, 2024, were also granted a further temporary extension until December 31.
However, the applicants were not allowed to engage in any activity other than what the visa conditions provided for.
Visa holders who needed to travel, but were awaiting the outcome of a long-term visa application, would be allowed to exit and re-enter at a port of entry up to and including December 31, 2024, without being declared undesirable in terms of the Immigration Act.
“However, non-visa exempt applicants who travel out of the country with a long-term visa application receipt, are required to apply for a port of entry visa which would allow them re-entry into South Africa.
“All appeal applicants were required to produce a copy of the rejection letter with a receipt for the appeal application on departure and re-entry into South Africa.
“Short term visa holders issued in terms of section 11(1)(a) of the Immigration Act, 2002 for 90 days or less, who have applied for a renewal, but have not received their visa renewal outcome, must make the necessary arrangements to depart from South Africa within 90 calendar days from the date of expiry of the principal visa, to avoid being declared undesirable.
“The latter concession is in line with the provisions of section 11(1)(a) of the Immigration Act, 2002 which limits the duration of sojourn for visiting purposes to a total of 180 days,” added the Department.

Mike Chimombe In Deep Turmoil

By A Correspondent

In a stunning turn of events, Millytake Enterprises (Private) Limited, a company linked to businessman Mike Chimombe, has been forcibly evicted from its premises in Eastlea, Harare.

This development marks yet another chapter in Chimombe’s tumultuous legal saga, which has gripped headlines across Zimbabwe.

Chimombe, along with his associate Moses Mpofu, stands accused of orchestrating a massive fraud scheme involving the misappropriation of funds intended for the Presidential Goat Scheme.

This initiative, purportedly aimed at bolstering livestock farming in Zimbabwe, instead saw allegations of mismanagement and embezzlement amounting to over US$7 million.

The severity of these charges has resulted in both individuals being denied bail, underscoring the gravity of the accusations leveled against them by the National Prosecuting Authority.

The eviction from their Eastlea offices underscores the deepening troubles facing Chimombe and his company. Reports indicate that the eviction was executed swiftly, with bailiffs authorized to take possession of the property following legal procedures.

This development has not only disrupted the operations of Millytake Enterprises but also raised questions about the financial stability and future prospects of the company amidst ongoing legal battles.

The situation surrounding Mike Chimombe has drawn considerable public and media attention, highlighting broader concerns about corporate governance and accountability in Zimbabwe.

The allegations of fraud and financial impropriety have resonated deeply, especially in a country grappling with economic challenges and seeking to restore public trust in its institutions.

Observers have pointed to this case as emblematic of the need for enhanced transparency and oversight within Zimbabwe’s business and regulatory frameworks.

The fallout from Chimombe’s legal troubles serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of alleged financial misconduct, both for those directly implicated and for the wider business community.

As the legal proceedings against Chimombe and Mpofu continue to unfold, the eviction from their Eastlea offices stands as a poignant symbol of the challenges facing businesses entangled in allegations of financial wrongdoing.

The repercussions extend beyond mere property disputes, reflecting broader issues of corporate integrity and governance that resonate within Zimbabwe and beyond its borders.

In the coming weeks, the spotlight will remain firmly trained on the courtroom proceedings and the evolving fate of Millytake Enterprises.

The outcome of this case could have far-reaching implications for corporate accountability and regulatory enforcement in Zimbabwe, potentially influencing future business practices and governance standards.

For now, as Mike Chimombe and his company navigate the turbulent waters of legal uncertainty, the eviction from their Eastlea offices serves as a stark reminder of the perils of alleged financial misconduct and the profound impact it can have on individuals, businesses, and the wider community.

Mnangagwa In Move To Maintain Power

By A Correspondent

In a controversial move amidst Zimbabwe’s deepening economic crisis and declining healthcare standards, Mr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has allocated luxury vehicles to the ZANU PF Youth League, purportedly to support youth empowerment initiatives.

According to a ZANU PF insider who spoke on condition of anonymity on Wednesday, the party’s Youth League received a fleet of posh vehicles directly from the President.

This allocation, which includes high-end cars, comes at a time when the country grapples with severe economic challenges marked by hyperinflation, unemployment, and shortages of essential goods.

The decision has sparked widespread criticism from opposition parties, civil society groups, and ordinary citizens who argue that such lavish expenditures are tone-deaf and insensitive to the everyday struggles faced by the majority of Zimbabweans.

Many have pointed out that the funds could have been better utilized to address pressing issues such as healthcare infrastructure, education, and poverty alleviation.

“The timing of this allocation couldn’t be worse,” remarked one political analyst, highlighting the contrast between the government’s spending priorities and the urgent needs of the population.

“While the youth empowerment is important, there are more pressing priorities that demand immediate attention, especially given the current state of our economy and healthcare system.”

Critics have also raised concerns about transparency and accountability regarding the acquisition and allocation of these vehicles, urging authorities to disclose the full details of the transaction and justify the expenditure in light of the country’s economic realities.

Meanwhile, the ZANU PF Youth League has defended the move, asserting that the vehicles will enhance their capacity to mobilize and engage with young people across the country.

They emphasize that the initiative is part of broader efforts to empower youth and strengthen grassroots support for the ruling party.

As public debate intensifies, the controversy surrounding Mnangagwa’s decision underscores deeper frustrations over governance and economic management in Zimbabwe.

With social discontent on the rise amid deteriorating living standards, the allocation of luxury vehicles to the ZANU PF Youth League is likely to remain a contentious issue, reflecting broader concerns about priorities and equity in national resource allocation.

The Military and ZANU PF

Dr. Raymond Chamba | In the midst of the great and unending eruptions of grand corruption in the country, many of us have asked and wondered where the adults in the room are. It was with great relief that I saw the public statements of Lt. General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe. Far from introducing trepidation and confusion, it actually gladly clarified things for all and sundry. ZANU (PF), the ruling/governing party, is at its heart a military formation. I get comfort from a military, and not personal, formation. Finally, the elders in the room are standing up and speaking.

Lt. Gen. Sanyatwe’s statements were an affirmation that the military is in control. This administration was put into place by the military, and that’s a worthwhile reminder in an environment where decision-making seems to come from whisky bottles, weed, and is steered by ample bottoms, bleached skins, family ties, criminal cartels, and public dancing tom-foolery. The military has order, structure, and guidance, unlike the farmhouse madness coming from Kwekwe. Thank you, General, for reminding everyone that the military is firmly in charge and not any personal family, a warren of thieves, nor a harem of personal and political whores.

Lt-General-Anselem-Sanyatwe-Rtd

To me, it was the military asserting control and reminding everyone who is in charge—something that some of us prayed for. This General is the quintessence of the most rigorous military and general education training experience from the finest institutions in the world. He is nobody’s fool and not someone you can mess with. After endless public corruption reportage from the likes of Wicknell Chivayo, George Guvamatanga, Ed Branson, and others, it was time the elders stepped in.

Dr Raymond Chamba

The clown shows at government institutions and high offices have gone on for far too long, and it’s time the firm boot of the military gets reintroduced into the room. We cry out for those who introduced these thieves in democratic change clothes to reassert control and order. Thank you, Gen. Sanyatwe, for telling us who is in charge. It’s not some latter-day charlatans from Northern Rhodesia nor some stupid, plundering narrow tribal order seeking to reintroduce itself as Munhumutapa. A whole confused drunken skunk on the snowball waking up and “…nyengu” imagining themselves King. We need order, and it’s time our heroes in uniform step up and step in.

Soon after that, we saw quick clarifications on constitutional order and term limits from reminded parties. The reality is that for many citizens, 2028 is too long for the continuance of wild national resources and treasury pillaging binges. In the absence of anything done to arrest such a precipitous descent into political and financial disorder, the military must fasten their strong boots and direct them at someone’s catheter-filled wet behind.

It was a lack of political maturity and sophistication on the part of a few activists, political and legal, to cry foul over Gen. Sanyatwe’s public testament of military control. It is what it is. Military order is better than personal and family disorder on any given day. When things are not well, we look up to the benefactors and guarantors of this current order to right the teetering and tottering national ship of state.

It’s comforting to know that we still have adults in the room. Thank you, Gen. Anselm Nhamo Sanyatwe, for speaking order to this runaway corruption train. Chinhu ichi chadhakwa. Zimbabwean citizens cry out for decisive change, and now. Cattle herders, drug addicts, common thieves, and political con artists have taken over the great fortress and turned it into a circus.

ZANU Vanhu. Vanhu iZANU. Tochema kuZANU inunure nyika yeZimbabwe. We are talking about the true people’s party and not its sad and sorrowful bastardization by known thieves and big butt-shaking imposters and their tribal sponsors. We need order, and I have no problem with the creators of this now “runaway political apparition” restoring it to factory settings. Thank you, security yekuHondo. We desperately need recalibration. Most of us largely misunderstood the message of Gen. Sanyatwe.

Dzimbahwe,
Dr. Raymond Chamba

Mnangagwa Squashes Chiwenga’s Presidential Ambitions

Political Reporter Emmerson Mnangagwa, the President of Zanu PF, has opened his succession debate and thrown his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga, under the bus by subjecting the process to internal voting.

It was widely believed that Mnangagwa would be succeeded by his deputy, Constantino Chiwenga.

The two reportedly made a gentleman’s agreement in 2017, when Chiwenga helped Mnangagwa oust the late President Robert Mugabe in a military coup, that Chiwenga would take over in 2028.

Through his spokesperson, George Charamba, Mnangagwa conveyed that he is currently serving his second and final term.

Charamba posted this announcement on his X account (handle: @dhonzamusoro007) on Thursday, July 4, following Mnangagwa’s commissioning of a juice and water production plant at Mutare Teachers College.
Charamba’s post read:

“Speaking in Shona, the President, Dr. ED Mnangagwa, indicated that both the Party and National Constitutions provide for two-term limits. In his case, he is now working on his second and last term and is on his way to taking a deserved rest. When the time comes, added the President, ZANU PF will congregate to elect a new leader. This is what provides for national stability. He also stressed the need for adherence to Party line and Party discipline.”

This marks a notable shift from Mnangagwa’s previous stance.

A few years ago, he surprised the nation with the bold declaration, “2030 ndeendichipo,” which translates to “I will still be there in 2030.”

This sparked speculation about his intentions and the possibility of extending his stay in power beyond the two-term limit.

The Case for Crowdfunded Justice in Zimbabwe

By Dr. Raymond Chamba | When institutional and constitutional capture ensures immunity for select individuals, new methods of holding them accountable become necessary. In Zimbabwe, a continuous stream of clear public corruption cases, shielded by high-level political protection, calls for collective and innovative ways to combat this at both local and global scales.

writing and writ. Dr Raymond Chamba

An online database that accepts, researches, catalogs, and curates reported cases of corruption urgently needs to be established. This should be a natural extension of the efforts of numerous dedicated professionals, activists, and conscientious private citizens who witness bad governance and defend victims both domestically and internationally.

These legal resources should be compiled to facilitate private prosecutions, class action lawsuits, and extended calls for action against banks and other commercial entities implicated in the local, regional, and global web of criminality. The money trail of laundering, tax evasion, human trafficking, drug dealing, subversion of democratic processes like elections, and the sponsorship of acts of terror requires collective action.

This online resource would feature global money movement alerts, relationship web indicators, and active movement pointers for key persons of interest. Tools available for local and global action would include reporting to appropriate law enforcement agencies, citizen arrests, and potential special executive actions mandated by the severity of crimes.

Perpetrators of gross crimes against the people through the pillaging of national resources need to be broadly and clearly publicized, with substantial rewards posted for their apprehension. A “Public Deplorables” deck of cards should be created to extend the reach of anti-corruption information. We cannot allow those who plunder vast national resources without legal repercussions to flaunt their ill-gotten gains publicly. It’s time for a significant payback.

It’s evident that most perpetrators of high national crimes and misdemeanors seek to impress the very public they have wronged. This cannot continue without collective action against the severe damage to our national resources, treasury, and stunted human development. If people can employ bands of private justice executors for relatively petty individual disputes, the public’s collective anger must be harnessed to ensure swift justice. The time to act is now.

In the pursuit of restorative justice, sequestered funds and assets across different jurisdictions need to be consolidated into a compensation fund for the many victims of gross human rights abuses in Zimbabwe, including but not limited to the Gukurahundi massacres. The financial crimes created and protected at the highest levels constitute a clear and absolute form of terror against the common citizens of Zimbabwe.

This phenomenon can be seen as an extended form of Gukurahundi, aiming to cause widespread poverty and assured destitution for all citizens. It is a calculated effort to suffocate and force the surrender of the people’s will to demand protection of their basic human rights. As people become impoverished and selectively favored, their capacity to demand justice diminishes, reducing them to hunters and gatherers for basic survival.

The structured mass looting, planned and executed with financial genocidal intent, is evident. The significant migration out of the country, driven by this massive deprivation of public resources, speaks volumes. Only crowd-funded global justice will bring this corruption pandemic to a halt.

Every action matters. Every report contributes to remedial responses. There is an urgent need to support the framework for a Zimbabwe we demand by engaging in a smart, incisive information exchange on grand corruption activities and perpetrators. Corruption thrives in silence and inaction. It’s time to reclaim our country through a collective, meticulous response that suffocates the financial, asset, and human movement privileges of the egregiously corrupt.

Document clear cases of corruption, distribute the information, deliver perpetrators to justice, and, where necessary, enforce decisive action against known repeat offenders. We have a responsibility and opportunity through smart action and collective response to arrest the decline of our once-great nation into a haven for politically and government-supported criminal syndicates. The time for a crowd-funded, decisive response against criminal syndicates is now. Anything less, and we risk having no country left to save.

A global financial platform is prepared with USD $5 million in seed capital to support and help establish the infrastructure for collective justice against endemic corruption. It will match every public donation to an institutional framework created by human rights defenders, anti-corruption activists, concerned citizens, and corporations. It’s time to mobilize in defense of our great nation from the clutches of financial and political Gukurahundists among us.

Sanyatwe, Fulcrum, Mnangagwa: COUNTDOWN

2024 COUNTDOWN. STATE POWER NOW

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | ANALYSIS -|The world has ended on Zimbabwe’s opposition, the controversial “Daddy-vist“ Hopewell Chin’ono screams out while saying Nelson Chamisa is finished as he has failed to speak out against the ZNA commander Ancelem Sanyatwe’s threats. Both Chin’ono and Fulcrum (Thabani Mpofu) seem oblivious of what Ancelem Sanyatwe actually said. (Mpofu has written a letter demanding that the general must reverse his statement over what the ZNA commander calls Command Voting the army will use against the electorate.)

But Command Voting has been worse uttered and practiced for 45 years running since 1980(the Lord Soames/Thatcher election criminality), the only difference is by 2024,

  1. Zimbos have helped kick ZANU PF out of ED’s home country, Zambia, totally, forever.
  2. ANC (South Africa) has been weakened for first time.
  3. ED’s accomplice William Ruto is on the run for power in Kenya.
  4. ZANU is imploding by itself.
  5. ED has discredited himself at SADC through his Russia meeting nonsense. He has finished himself in many ways
  6. Mnangagwa is now only as strong as his collapsing ZiG currency and his ZANU PF party even officially announces that he is now called “Mr Strong ZiG”
  7. The recently exposed Scott-Wicknell money laundering case over the 2023 election rigging committed outside Zimbabwe (plus those of the GoldMafia) trigger law enforcement outside the borders to try Mnangagwa’s SADC condemned election, putting a seal on the man who evidently is being burnt up by the fire he alone started, as poetically as it sounds. The conclusion may be summmed up in Sanyatwe’s surname which poetically means a person who has soiled themselves on their own. Perfectly Possible For A Man To Reach 66 With Only One Woman: Researchers

An article in the HMetro tabloid

By Lifestyle Reporter | It is indeed possible for a man to reach the age of 66 with only one sexual partner, supported by various studies and expert opinions on lifelong monogamy. Although lifelong monogamy is less common today, it remains a viable lifestyle choice.

  1. Prevalence of Lifelong Monogamy:
Lifelong monogamy is relatively rare in the modern context. According to Carol Queen, a sexologist at Good Vibrations, lifelong monogamists are now a minority in the United States. The increased commonality of divorce and infidelity has contributed to this decline, with about half of marriages ending in divorce today, which is double the rate from 1960 [❞].
  2. Evolutionary and Biological Perspectives:
Research by Lukas and Clutton-Brock suggests that monogamy in mammals, including humans, likely evolved due to the need for males to ensure their offspring are genetically theirs and to better provide parental care. This evolutionary strategy is seen as beneficial in ensuring the survival and well-being of the offspring [❞] [❞]. While only about 3-5% of mammal species practice lifelong monogamy, it remains an essential part of human societal structures due to its evolutionary benefits.
  3. Benefits of Monogamy:
The benefits of monogamy include shared parenting responsibilities, which can lead to better outcomes for children. Studies indicate that monogamous relationships often result in better resource allocation for children, enhancing their chances of survival and well-being [❞]. This is particularly significant in human societies, where paternal care and investment in offspring are more pronounced compared to other mammals.
  4. Modern Social and Cultural Influences:
In modern societies, the concept and practice of monogamy have evolved. While many people still adhere to monogamous relationships, the definitions and boundaries of monogamy can vary. For example, serial monogamy, where individuals have one partner at a time but multiple partners over their lifetime, is more common than lifelong monogamy [❞].
  5. Psychological and Sociological Insights:
According to Bella DePaulo, Ph.D., and other researchers, the assumption that monogamous relationships are inherently more satisfying and safer is not always supported by evidence. Studies have shown that sexual frequency and desire tend to decrease over the course of long-term monogamous relationships. Moreover, the perceived safety of monogamous relationships can be undermined by infidelity, which is often associated with lower usage of protection against STIs compared to consensual non-monogamous relationships [❞].

In conclusion, while lifelong monogamy is less common in today’s society, it is certainly possible and practiced by some individuals. The decision to pursue lifelong monogamy is influenced by a combination of biological, evolutionary, social, and personal factors, highlighting the diversity of human mating strategies and relationship models.

Zimbabwe Doesn’t Agree With Sanyatwe’s Sentiments- Dr Mavaza

Unpacking the Mind of General Sanyatwe: The Role of the Army in Politics

By Dr. Masimba Mavaza | Zimbabwe is buzzing with shock after General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe, the commander of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA), vowed that Zanu-PF will remain in power until “donkeys grow horns.” He went on to say that if people refuse to vote, he will engage in command voting since he is the Army commander.

These words have cast Zimbabwe in a negative light globally. The Army commander’s reckless speech does not reflect the views of every military man, whether in uniform or civilian clothes. Zimbabwe does not agree with Sanyatwe’s sentiments. ZANU PF has won elections based on its popularity and the love from the people for over forty-four years, without the need for military intervention.

While the army plays a pivotal role in maintaining peace and tranquility, the Armed Forces typically stay out of politics. Individuals are entitled to their opinions and beliefs, but public political expressions or demonstrations, especially in uniform, can disrepute the services. Any service personnel doing so would face disciplinary action. General Sanyatwe, overtaken by excitement, erred in his speech. He reminded those present that as the army commander, he would execute “command voting” if people refused to vote for ZANU PF.

A professional military man must be a pessimist, assuming that peace and prosperity are transient and that armed force may be necessary for the country’s survival. Zimbabwe, like all peaceful nations, believes war, especially on a global scale, is disadvantageous unless its prosperity is unjustly impaired or its existence threatened. General Sanyatwe’s duty is to the country first and to the president, serving all Zimbabweans regardless of political affiliation.

Other nations may sometimes see war as advantageous, influenced by religions, ideologies, and states of mind. Each generation tends to forget the bitter lessons of the past. Zimbabwe is in a difficult state of transition, posing new challenges daily. It is crucial for leaders like Army Commander Sanyatwe to have a positive attitude and dedication to shaping future events. This is essential for normalizing Zimbabwe’s relations with the world and becoming a functioning member of the African Unity community.

President Mnangagwa is working to show the world that Zimbabwe is accepted among democratic states. The struggle for legitimacy has been tough, defending against labels of dictatorship. Despite daily insults, allegiance is not motivated by money, as Zimbabwe is not on anyone’s payroll.

The role of the military in a democracy is a concern dating back to Plato 2,500 years ago. The principle of political control of armed forces in a democracy involves the supremacy of civilian institutions over defense and security policy-making, including the military leadership. Democratic control should be a two-way process between armed forces and society. Firm constitutional guarantees should protect the state, including the armed forces, from politicians with military ambitions and military personnel with political ambitions.

There is no single model for establishing armed forces in a democratic society, but shared principles include organizing and guaranteeing civilian direction and control. General Sanyatwe’s statements are anti-establishment and shameful. He should appreciate the clear legal and constitutional framework defining the relationship between the state and armed forces. This relationship must not be spoiled by careless talk.

Zimbabwe has made significant strides in normalizing relations with other countries, promoting a policy of friendship with all and enmity with none. General Sanyatwe must recognize the significant role of parliament in legislating on defense and security matters, contributing transparency to decisions, approving budgets, and controlling spending. The military complements the government but should not publicly show bias.

Before getting involved in politics, the army commander must remember the military’s hierarchical responsibility to the government through a civilian organ. This is why the ministry or department of defense, often led by a civilian, directs and supervises military activities.

Zimbabwe’s military corps is well-trained, experienced, and respected, funded by a civilian authority that acknowledges civilian control, political neutrality, and non-partisanship. This provides a yardstick for measuring armed forces in a democracy and their political control, turning theoretical considerations into reality.

Military leaders must understand that “War is the continuation of politics by other means” and that being labeled “political” can be damaging. The terms “political,” “apolitical,” and “politicization” are often misapplied, and understanding the military’s relationship to politics requires serious reconsideration. Active military involvement in politics is unethical and hinders democratic progress.

The current time presents high hopes for Zimbabwe’s success in achieving its goals. Armed forces should be the last resort when police and border guards cannot handle situations. The Constitution prohibits actions disturbing national peace or supporting aggression, with international law prevailing over domestic laws. This imposes specific responsibilities on the government, citizens, and soldiers.

In summary, the roles and missions of the Armed Forces are clearly defined within a comprehensive legal framework. The military’s integration into state and society follows strict rules with checks and balances. According to the Constitution, the Armed Forces are part of the executive, bound by law and justice, and the protection of basic human rights.

Mnangagwa In Move To Consolidate Power

Already-3rd-Term-President ED Says I’m Quitting After My 2nd Term

“I am in my last five years then a new leader will be chosen at Congress whilst I go to rest,” says Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Mutare, Zimbabwe – By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | In a surprising turn of events, President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is already serving his third term, has announced his intention to retire after completing his second term. The announcement was made during a function to commission the Mutare Teachers College Fruit Juice and Water Processing Plant.

“I am in my last five years then a new leader will be chosen at Congress whilst I go to rest,” Mnangagwa told attendees, despite the fact that he is currently in his third term. This statement has led to widespread confusion and speculation regarding his political future and the internal dynamics of the ruling Zanu-PF party.

Mnangagwa’s declaration has ignited discussions about the succession plan within Zanu-PF and the broader political implications for Zimbabwe. The president’s mention of a new leader being selected at a Zanu-PF Congress implies an imminent power transition, which could significantly alter the political landscape.

However, skepticism surrounds Mnangagwa’s announcement. Historically, Zimbabwean leaders have shown a reluctance to relinquish power, often extending their rule despite initial commitments to step down. This historical context fuels doubts about the sincerity of Mnangagwa’s retirement pledge.

Political analysts question whether Mnangagwa’s statement is a genuine indication of his intention to step down or a strategic move to consolidate his position and manage internal party dissent. The incongruity of serving a third term while promising to retire after a second term adds to the complexity of the situation.

As Mnangagwa’s purported final term progresses, both political observers and the Zimbabwean public will be closely watching his actions and the developments within the Zanu-PF party. Whether Mnangagwa will follow through on his promise to step down remains uncertain, but his recent comments have undoubtedly stirred significant intrigue and speculation about the future of Zimbabwe’s leadership.

Mike Chimombe’s Company Evicted from Eastlea Offices Amidst Legal Troubles

ED Kills 2030 Slogan

By A Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa has finally spoken on his future saying he will not seek to extend his time in power beyond 2028 as has been widely rumored.

Addressing Zanu PF supporters in Mutare, Mnangagwa said he is in his last 5 year term and will rest to allow a new leader to take over.

Mnangagwa’s remarks puts to rest speculations that he would seeking to extend his term of office.

There were fears that Zanu PF paid self-styled CCC Interim Secretary General Sengezo Tshabangu to destroy the opposition and gift the ruling party two thirds majority in parliament so that Mnangagwa would be able to amend the Constitution and remove term limits.

Other excitable leaders like Owen Mudha and Masvingo provincial youth league were already running with the 2030 slogan.

High Roller Games

It’s no surprise that high-roller casinos boast an impressive selection of games tailored for the discerning player. While variety is important, the focus here is on high-limit options. Imagine slots with sky-high Return to Player (RTP) percentages, promising a greater chance of winning big. Live dealer games like blackjack take centre stage, often featuring the highest betting limits, perfect for those who enjoy the thrill of facing a real dealer in a luxurious virtual environment.

Bonuses & Promotions

Top high-limit casinos understand the importance of rewarding their loyal high rollers. Expect to find high-value bonuses designed to give your bankroll a significant boost. These bonuses can take various forms, from generous deposit match offers to exclusive cashback programs. However, remember that all bonuses come with terms and conditions. High Deposit and Withdrawal Limits

For high rollers, smooth and efficient financial transactions are paramount. Look for casinos that offer a variety of payment methods specifically designed to handle hefty deposits and withdrawals. High deposit limits are crucial, allowing you to fuel your gameplay without unnecessary hassle. Withdrawal limits should also be significantly higher than average casinos, ensuring you can access your winnings promptly and efficiently. Be sure to pay close attention to any fees associated with different payment methods. Percentage-based fees can significantly eat into your profits, so choose options with minimal or flat transaction fees.

High Stakes for High Rewards

High-roller casinos cater to players who enjoy the thrill of placing larger bets. Imagine games with betting limits exceeding the norm. While most casinos have maximum bets hovering around $100, high-roller havens offer games that allow you to wager anywhere from $1,000 to a staggering $50,000 per round. This allows you to tailor your gameplay to your risk tolerance and potentially win life-changing sums.

Conclusion

These are the factors you need to consider when picking out a high-roller casino from the list we’ve provided in the article. Remember, high roller means higher deposit, withdrawal and betting limits, but keep your bankroll in check. Gamble responsibly.

Mnangagwa Buys Brand New Cars For ZANU PF Youth League Amid Economic Crisis, Health Decline

Donkeys Now Have Horns: Citizens Respond to Army Commander’s Threats

By A Correspondent

Gift Ostallos Siziba, spokesperson for the citizens movement, has strongly reacted to threats made by army commander Lieutenant-General Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe.

In a video circulating on social media, Sanyatwe threatened to enforce command voting on behalf of Zanu PF.

He also asserted that Zanu PF would remain in power until donkeys grow horns.

Responding to these statements on Wednesday, Siziba stated:

“Donkeys have horns now, isukile!”

Mnangagwa Blew The Chance

“The voice of the people is the voice of God.” That was the biggest statement given by President Emmerson at his inauguration in November 2017 in Harare, soon after the coup.

By Leonard Koni | Everybody supported Mnangagwa, including myself. People were just tired of Robert Mugabe and wanted a change and to see the country moving forward despite their political affiliations.

All progressive people marched for a big change and wanted Mugabe to go.

All Emmerson Mnangagwa was supposed to do was call for talks with all political parties, including churches and all stakeholders, and have a dialogue on how to move the country.

People were very ready to share and marinate their ideas for the good of the country.

A lot of Zimbabweans across the country thought President Mnangagwa was going to do much better than his predecessor, the late Robert Mugabe.

The coup had everyone excited, good or bad; it was a miraculous transition. Transition is the key plan. Everybody was so excited that Mugabe was leaving the high office.

Mnangagwa was in a good transition at the time, and he could have done much better. Today we see the wheels of the economy starting to fall off under Mnangagwa.

Today, President Mnangagwa is failing to confront issues to do with corruption and constitutionalism. His government is harbouring criminals who are always circling around him.

He has dismally failed to restore faith and confidence in the judiciary, where we have witnessed the law being applied selectively. Zimbabwe, under Mnangagwa, has failed to seize its rightful place on the global stage.

Of late, we have also seen President Mnangagwa stifling and choking the democratic space. The opposition is seen as an enemy of the state and cannot breathe under his government.

The incessant erosion of trust in democratic institutions is a cause for concern across the country, and by so doing, we are creating a vacuum that will be hard to fill in the near future.

Mnangagwa, as the second president of the country, failed to reinvigorate faith in democracy. He failed to unite the masses and to uphold the principles of inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. This calls for electoral reforms that will ensure a free and fair election. His mission to keep holding Zimbabweans at ransom till 2030 must be rejected by all progressive Zimbabweans.

Report: Four-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling Into Collapsed Sewer Pipe

The City of Harare is investigating an incident in which a four (4) year old boy passed away after falling into a collapsed concrete sewer line in Parkview this morning.

He was swept away and his body was recovered at our Crowborough Sewerage Works, about 4 kilometres away.

The boy’s father apparently works for the City of Harare.

Engineers who visited the place where the boy fell into the sewer line said the concrete line appeared to have collapsed a long time ago due to gas pressures but went unreported.

Some residents were now using the sewer water to irrigate their crops around the area.

City of Harare spokesperson Stanley Gama confirmed the tragic incident.

“To the family we say, kindly accept our heartfelt sympathies for the loss. We are saddened to learn of the tragic loss. The City of Harare will do all it can to assist the family during the bereavement.

“We urge residents to report any cases of sewer bursts for prompt responses and action to repair,” said Gama.

Gorimbo vs Winky D, Open Fight On Facebook In Singer’s Absence

Harare, Zimbabwe – By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye | In an explosive social media showdown on Wednesday, boxer Themba Gorimbo found himself in a virtual boxing ring with beloved musician Winky D, only to be knocked out by a wave of enraged fans. Gorimbo’s attempt to diminish Winky D as merely a local artist, while boasting of his own global stature, ignited a furious backlash that left him reeling and ultimately forced him to deactivate his Facebook account.

The match began when Gorimbo, seemingly throwing the first punch, posted a provocative message on Facebook: “Vanhu moda kundi jairira, mungandifanandiz e na Winky? Winky is local and I am global. Pane musiyano. Kana mazogara moziva local and global difference. Compare Winky nana Pashi.”

Fans quickly jumped into the ring, defending Winky D with relentless fervor. Like a well-coordinated team of corner men, they swarmed Gorimbo’s post, delivering a barrage of blows in the form of comments and shares that highlighted Winky D’s legendary status in Zimbabwean music.

Gorimbo, clearly unprepared for the intensity of the backlash, attempted to counterpunch by claiming his account was hacked: “Nhasi ndazarura hombe… Easy guys my account is hacked.”

But the fans were relentless, refusing to believe his claims and continuing their relentless assault. Gorimbo, now on the ropes, tried to pivot with another post: “Guys have you noticed ndotaura nonsense only pano pa Facebook and in Shona kkkkkk Because handidi vatengi vehwahwa vaone kana kuziva. Facebook haina translate. Plus ma boss ari ku instagram ne twitter. Ndangoti ndikuudzei. Imi pano pa Facebook hamuna basa… Muri vangu imi.”

This attempt to dodge the punches as ZimEye reveals only served to further enrage Winky D’s supporters. They unleashed a flurry of emotive responses, showcasing their unwavering loyalty and the deep respect they have for Winky D. The virtual arena buzzed with the energy of fans who were determined to protect their hero’s honor.

As the fight reached its climax, Gorimbo was overwhelmed by the sheer force of the fans’ unity and passion. He was left with no choice but to retreat, shutting down his Facebook account and conceding defeat to an absent yet ever-present opponent—Winky D, whose silence only amplified the power of his supporters.

In the aftermath of this digital brawl, one thing became clear: the power of a dedicated fanbase can be as formidable as any physical opponent. Gorimbo’s attempt to elevate himself at Winky D’s expense backfired spectacularly, highlighting the musician’s enduring legacy and the fierce devotion of his fans. This was not just a social media dispute; it was a knockout victory for Winky D in the eyes of the public.- ZimEye

Tagwirei Cashes In On Kuvimba Mining House Now Mutapa Investment Fund

By A Correspondent| It has emerged that Zimbabwe’s liability may have shot through the roof following secretive payment of US$1,6 billion to unknown shareholders under the sovereign wealth fund, according to a latest Sentry report.

Zanu PF benefactor and tycoon Kudakwashe Tagwirei was allegedly paid US$1,6 billion for shares in Kuvimba Mining House, which owns around a dozen gold, lithium, nickel and platinum mines, under the sovereign wealth fund, whose name was changed to Mutapa Investment Fund.

Kudakwashe Tagwirei

Tagwirei has denied links to Kuvimba, but previous reports have linked him to the mining conglomerate.

“In 2021, The Sentry revealed how Tagwirei was a secret owner of up to 35% of Kuvimba. Tagwirei and Kuvimba deny he owns the shares, but authorities refuse to identify who received the US$1,6 billion payment for the 35% stake,” The Sentry report read.

The Sentry is an investigative and policy organisation that seeks to disable multinational predatory networks that benefit from violent conflict, repression and kleptocracy.

“If this figure is accurate, then about four-fifths of the US$1,9 billion debt incurred to allow Mutapa to revive failing State-owned enterprises has been used to pay a few private individuals.

“A US$1,6 billion price tag for a 35% stake would value Kuvimba at US$4,6 billion overall — triple the US$1,5 billion valuation given to Kuvimba by the government in 2022. This would raise serious questions about whether Mutapa has grossly overvalued the shares,” The Sentry said.

Last September, President Emmerson Mnangagwa changed the name of the Sovereign Wealth Fund to Mutapa Investment Fund through Statutory Instrument (SI) 156 of 2023.

Through the SI, Mnangagwa amended the Sovereign Wealth Fund of Zimbabwe Act, which included the transfer of government’s various shareholdings in 20 entities to the fund.

The fund is a State-owned investment fund established from balance of payment surpluses, official foreign currency operations, the proceeds of privatisation, government transfer payments, fiscal surpluses and resource earnings.

The SI removed the fund from the provisions of the country’s Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act to avoid scrutiny.

The Sentry report said transferring public wealth was concerning when the African Development Bank (AfDB) is trying to help Zimbabwe with a debt restructuring process.

“Lenders may not be comforted that debt has leapt to US$21 billion and that new debt amounting to 5% of GDP [gross domestic product] appears to have been issued for the purpose of paying shareholders in Kuvimba with possible links to a crony businessman,” the report read.

“The point of sovereign wealth funds is to preserve and grow wealth to benefit Zimbabwean citizens.

“If the report of US$1,6 billion paid to Kuvimba’s private investors is true, Zimbabwean taxpayers — who will have to repay this debt — should be angry that one of the first acts of their new sovereign wealth fund may have been to allocate wealth from the many to the few.”

Tagwirei did not respond to questions sent to him.

The Sentry recommended an audit of State-owned entities such as the Mutapa Investment Fund by the Auditor-General.

“Both the Auditor-General and the (Parliamentary) Public Accounts Committee (PAC) should urgently open inquiries into Mutapa’s acquisition of shares in Kuvimba.

The PAC hearings should be held in public,” The Sentry recommendations read in part.
“Banks and other financial institutions should conduct enhanced due diligence into any entity seeking to sell (‘discount’) the Treasury Bill described in this report.

“In the past, when Sakunda, a Tagwirei-controlled company, was given US$366 million Treasury Bills for its role in running an agricultural programme, it sold parts of the debt instrument to banks at a discount in order to get access to hard currency.”

“The banks would then hold that Treasury Bill until it matured, when they could go to the central bank and redeem it for its face value plus interest.”

The Sentry called on AfDB to nudge the government to publish a list of the entities and financial institutions holding the domestic debt.

“Issues raised by the new debt issuance should be discussed in the AfDB-led structured dialogues on debt clearance, including those working groups that include civil society representatives, so that the government of Zimbabwe can explain the thinking behind the purchase of the Kuvimba shares.”

Mutapa Investment Fund is headed by former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor John Mangudya.

Mangudya did not respond to questions sent to him about The Sentry report.

In March this year, Mnangagwa added seven parastatals to the Mutapa Investment Fund through SI 51 of 2024.

The entities that were added include Aurex (Private) Limited, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of Zimbabwe (Private) Limited, Fidelity Gold Refinery (Private) Limited, HomeLink Private Limited, HomeLink Finance (Private) Limited, Zesa Holdings Private Limited and Zesa Enterprises (Private) Limited.

Is Fulcrum Not Adulterating Between Chamisa And Mnangagwa?

Harare, Zimbabwe – July 4, 2024

By Farai D Hove | In a fiery exchange, former NPF spokesperson Jealousy Mawarire has accused Advocate Thabani Mpofu of hypocrisy regarding the military’s involvement in Zimbabwean politics. The accusations follow Mpofu’s recent letter to ZNA Commander Lt. Gen. Ancelem Sanyatwe, criticizing his partisan comments.

Mpofu, in his letter dated July 3, 2024, to Lt. Gen. Sanyatwe, condemned the ZNA’s involvement in political activities, citing violations of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Mpofu highlighted statements made by Sanyatwe at a gathering where he appeared to endorse ZANU PF, stating, “Do we understand each other? Forward with ZANU (PF), Forward with Chamisa, Down with ED Mnangagwa, Down with the enemy!”

Mawarire’s Response

In response, Mawarire accused Mpofu of double standards. He referenced Mpofu’s defense of the military’s role in the 2017 coup that led to President Mugabe’s removal, arguing that Mpofu supported the military’s actions when it benefited Mnangagwa. Mawarire’s statement read:

“So @adv_fulcrum, ED’s lawyer who argued in court that the military involvement in Zanu-PF internal politics in Nov 2017, which led to the removal of President Mugabe through a coup, was legal, has suddenly realized, today, the existence of provisions in the constitution which outlaw the involvement of the army in partisan politics? Such duplicitous, dishonest and unprincipled lawyers are as real a problem to our multiparty democracy as is the involvement of the army in partisan politics that they now purport to fight.”

Mawarire questioned Mpofu’s integrity, accusing him of only criticizing military involvement when it no longer served his client’s interests.

Implications

The exchange highlights the ongoing debate over the military’s role in Zimbabwean politics and raises questions about legal and political accountability. Mpofu, a prominent lawyer, is now under scrutiny for his shifting positions on the military’s engagement in political affairs.

Current Status

At the time of writing, Thabani Mpofu has yet to respond to Mawarire’s allegations. The public and political analysts await further developments as this controversy unfolds.

This incident suggests the complex and often contentious relationship between the military and politics in Zimbabwe, as well as the critical role of legal professionals in navigating these waters. The outcome of this public dispute could have significant implications for both legal precedents and political dynamics in the country.

“Crippled” ZANU PF Youth Leader Caught Dancing on Camera in SA, Back In Court

Masvingo, Zimbabwe – July 4, 2024 | The ZANU PF Masvingo youth chairperson Delight Mandebvu, who claimed to be too ill to attend his assault trial, and was caught on camera energetically participating in ANC election activities in South Africa is back on trial.

Mandebvu has been charged for allegedly assaulting former Masvingo Mayor Collen Maboke, his wife Tariro, and relative Simbarashe Matyei was postponed to next Monday. The incident occurred on March 2, 2024, following a vehicle sideswipe on the Masvingo-Bikita road. Mandebvu, accompanied by several men, allegedly pursued and assaulted the victims after the sideswipe.

The case, initially before Magistrate Elizabeth Hanzi, saw multiple postponements due to Mandebvu’s claims of illness and difficulty securing legal representation. Despite these claims, video footage shows Mandebvu actively dancing and campaigning in South Africa, raising questions about his reported health condition. This footage led to Magistrate Hanzi issuing, then later canceling, a warrant for Mandebvu’s arrest after his lawyers intervened, citing his involvement in ANC campaign activities.

Provincial Magistrate Franklin Mkwananzi now presides over the trial, which continues next Monday. The court’s patience appears to be wearing thin as Mandebvu’s credibility comes under scrutiny following these revelations.

### Background

The incident that led to the assault charges occurred on March 2, 2024, when vehicles driven by Maboke’s wife and Mandebvu sideswiped each other. Mandebvu, reportedly with several men, pursued Maboke’s vehicle, blocking it after a 10km chase. The confrontation turned violent, resulting in injuries to Maboke, his wife, and their relative.

### Court Proceedings

Faith And Fright, Why Christian Silence Enables Oppression

By Dr. Raymond Chamba | The local Christian religious community is known by its unique prayerful quietude in the face of gross injustice. The prayer warriors are married to “witnessing”…which is a zealous retelling of ancient stories/legends and not “with-nessing” which is immersing themselves into the recency/currency and relevancy of everyday issues.

We have committed partners to a dose of dancing, praising and electric summations of Jesus Christ shrouded in the mysticism of Middle Eastern mores/lore and forever emasculated from standing up to the poor, huddled, abused and marginalised masses of today even if there are praying for his coming back while the preacher men are taking all alms for the performance of fake gloriana.

When you see great silence know that you are in an area populated by Christians. They are forever quick to find biblical exactitudes and characteristically quiet when it comes to the true morality. These are people who worry about consenting adults expressing love in different ways but totally indifferent to a whole nation getting bend over everyday. Oh Christians, Jesus save me from these followers. Their duplicitous skulduggery is an examination of social and political legend.

If you want any justice in this world avoid the religious type of Christians. Go with Muslims perhaps and you are better off with drunkards and the drug addled as they more quickly answer to a call for action. When you hear of gross injustice understand that it’s usually perpetrated under some religious cover and perhaps some morsels of the loot theatrically committed to the church.

If you are looking for true justice avoid Christians like the plague. They are either part of the bad business or if not convincing you all to bow down your heads in prayer while the wicked and garrulous prey on everyone and everything. Quick to arrange all night soirées and quite slow to protest for good and moral justice.

Silent nights. Holy nights. Don’t bring any Christian friends to a good fight as they are full of fright and feigned morality. The level of endemic corruption in Zimbabwe requires a counter-vailing force of savagery that Christians cannot stomach. If you need true change leave the Christians at home. They pray too much and do too little. Moral Dolittles…..

Most are metaphorical Walking Eagles…too full of shit to fly. Radical change is needed and fast but don’t tell me that you are saying a little prayer in the hope that things will take a new direction. The country is at some serious cross roads but don’t call on anyone you meet under some trees or in guilded, ornate structures speaking divinity and goodness to mankind. They are part of the problem.

Chivayo Given 3 Hours to Vacate US

Dear Editor.

Ren-form confirms they printed very few ballot papers, something that Zimbabweans in Washington have vowed to take the matter up with the US govt and get Chivayo either arrested or deported or both. The Chivayo leaks reveal that he did money laundering with US currency money.

All this is happening just as Zimbabweans in SA are organising a mass demo at Renform offices till Renform produces all evidence since Renform confirm they paid back to Chivayo 27million USD of the ballot papers money.

Renform under pressure might fold as SA authorities demand to know how they printed ballot papers amid all this scandal. ???????.

At the same time Zimbabweans here in US have approached the authorities seeking to get Chivayo deported.

If he is truly in the states, we shall find him.

We shall give you the updates.

Another Mike ‘Mbudzi’ Chimombe’s Bogus Company Exposed

By Crime and Courts Reporter- Another bogus company belonging to the troubled tenderpreneur Mike Chimombe, has been evicted from Harare premises.

Millytake Enterprises (Private) Limited, was evicted from the Eastlea offices by the new owner after the previous owner had terminated the lease, though Chimombe reportedly refused to vacate the premises.

The company was registered in 2008 and is owned by Chimombe and Rusero Mitchell.

Chimombe and his associate Moses Mpofu are currently in remand prison following their arrest for allegedly defrauding the government of over US$7 million intended for the Presidential Goat Pass-on Scheme.

The bogus company specialises in supplying commercial and industrial equipment and their services include construction, property development, economic consulting and research and consulting engineering.

According to a court order dated June 29, obtained by NewsDay, Chimombe has been given 10 days to vacate the premises. It reads:

The first respondent and all those claiming occupation through him are hereby ordered to give vacant possession of Stand 7986 Salisbury Township Lot 1 of Beam Wireless Station Site of Salisbury Township Lands held under Deed of Transfer No 4811/2023 dated June 29, 2023, commonly known as No 5 Morton Jaffray Road, Eastlea, Harare, to the applicant within 10 days of service of this court order.

In the event of first respondent failing to comply with terms in para l above, the second respondent or his lawful deputy is hereby directed to evict first respondent and all those claiming occupation through him from the afore-mentioned property and give vacant possession of the property to the applicant.

The first respondent shall pay the applicant’s costs of suit on a legal practitioner client scale.

Chimombe’s troubles began when he had a falling out with convicted criminal Wicknell Chivayo, who has close ties to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

Allegedly, Chimombe, Mpofu, and Chivayo secured a corrupt US$40 million tender from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) to supply electoral materials for the disputed 2023 general elections.

Chimombe and Chivayo clashed over the distribution of proceeds from the ZEC tender.

In leaked audio recordings, Chivayo bragged about having influence over Mnangagwa and openly mocked Zimbabweans calling for his arrest.

Surprisingly, despite being central to the ZEC scandal, Chivayo has not faced questioning by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission regarding his alleged involvement.

Army Boss Declares Allegiance To Zanu PF

By A Correspondent

In a startling turn of events, a video circulating on social media has captured Zimbabwe National Army commander Lieutenant-General Anselem Sanyatwe openly declaring allegiance to the ruling party, ZANU PF.

The footage, which has sparked widespread debate and concern both locally and internationally, shows Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe passionately chanting ZANU PF slogans, indicating a significant departure from the traditionally expected neutrality of the military.

The video, which surfaced recently, features Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe proclaiming, “ZANU PF ichatonga kusvika madhongi amera nyanga. Muchida musingade,” loosely translated as “ZANU PF will rule until donkeys grow horns. Whether you like it or not.”

Such a public display of political allegiance from a high-ranking military official has raised serious questions about the role of the armed forces in Zimbabwean politics and governance.

The Zimbabwe National Army, like any military institution in a democratic society, is expected to remain apolitical, serving the nation impartially regardless of political affiliation.

This principle ensures stability, upholds civilian authority, and safeguards against military interference in democratic processes.

Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s actions, however, appear to undermine these fundamental principles, potentially eroding public trust in the military’s impartiality and integrity.

ZANU PF, the ruling party in Zimbabwe since independence in 1980, has maintained a close relationship with the military throughout its tenure.

This relationship has historically been a subject of scrutiny, with allegations of military involvement in political activities and electoral processes.

Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s public endorsement of ZANU PF raises concerns about the extent of political influence within the armed forces and the implications for Zimbabwe’s democratic institutions.

International observers and human rights organizations have expressed apprehension over the video, highlighting the importance of military neutrality in safeguarding democratic norms and principles.

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) and the African Union (AU), regional bodies committed to promoting good governance and democratic practices, are likely to closely monitor developments in Zimbabwe amid growing concerns over political stability and military interference.

In response to the video, there has been varied reaction within Zimbabwe.

Civil society groups, opposition parties, and some segments of the population have condemned Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s actions, viewing them as a threat to democracy and calling for accountability and transparency within the armed forces.

Conversely, supporters of ZANU PF have defended the commander, citing his right to freedom of expression and political affiliation.

The Zimbabwean government, led by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, has yet to issue an official statement addressing the controversy.

The response of the government and its handling of the situation will likely influence domestic and international perceptions of Zimbabwe’s commitment to democratic governance and the rule of law.

As the situation unfolds, the spotlight remains firmly on Zimbabwe’s military and its adherence to constitutional principles of neutrality and non-partisanship.

The implications of Lieutenant-General Sanyatwe’s public endorsement of ZANU PF underscore broader challenges facing democratic consolidation in Zimbabwe and the imperative of ensuring that state institutions operate independently and transparently.

The incident involving Lieutenant-General Anselem Sanyatwe serves as a stark reminder of the delicate balance between military professionalism and political neutrality in democratic societies.

It highlights the critical need for Zimbabwe to uphold the rule of law, protect democratic institutions, and strengthen mechanisms for accountability to ensure a free, fair, and inclusive political environment for all citizens.

Will Mnangagwa Run Beyond 2028?

By Seke Kunaka Kunaka

As political landscapes evolve and leaders age, the question of longevity and capability inevitably arises.

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe’s current president, is no exception to this scrutiny.

At 81 years old, the comparisons to other global leaders, such as Joe Biden of the United States, naturally come into play.

But should age alone determine a leader’s future effectiveness?

Joe Biden, now 81, has faced criticism and speculation about his health and cognitive abilities since taking office.

Some argue that his occasional lapses in speech or moments of forgetfulness are signs of decline, calling into question his ability to serve beyond his current term.

Similarly, concerns about Mnangagwa’s stamina and health are surfacing, particularly in the context of whether he can continue leading Zimbabwe effectively past 2028.

The reality of aging is universal. It brings with it physical and cognitive changes that can affect performance, stamina, and decision-making. However, attributing these changes solely to age can be overly simplistic.

Many leaders, despite their seniority, continue to lead effectively well into their later years, bringing experience and wisdom that can be invaluable to their nations.

In Mnangagwa’s case, the discussion around his ability to lead beyond 2028 hinges not just on age but on his health, policies, and the evolving political landscape in Zimbabwe.

Supporters argue that his experience in politics, dating back decades, positions him uniquely to navigate the country through its challenges. Critics, however, point to concerns over governance, economic stability, and human rights, questioning whether a leadership change might bring needed reforms and fresh perspectives.

The dynamics of leadership transcend age, encompassing qualities such as vision, adaptability, and resilience.

While age can be a factor in assessing these qualities, it is not determinative. Leaders like Mnangagwa must continually prove their ability to lead effectively, adapt to changing circumstances, and address the needs of their constituents.

Looking ahead to 2028 and beyond, Zimbabweans and the international community will undoubtedly scrutinize Mnangagwa’s health and leadership closely.

The question remains whether he possesses the energy and vision to continue steering Zimbabwe through its challenges or whether a new generation of leaders will emerge to chart a different course.

In conclusion, while age raises valid questions about longevity in leadership, the answer lies in a nuanced assessment of health, policies, and the leader’s capacity to meet the demands of their position.

Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s tenure beyond 2028 will ultimately be determined by how he navigates these complexities and addresses the aspirations of Zimbabweans for a prosperous and stable future.

As with all leaders, the judgment of history will reflect not just on their years in office but on the impact of their decisions and the legacy they leave behind.

Tapera Remains Positive

Warriors coach Jairos Tapera says he is proud of his charges despite failing to reach the knockout stage of the 2024 COSAFA Cup.

Zimbabwe was eliminated from the tournament after losing 2-0 to Kenya in the final Group B game played on Tuesday.

The national team had a strong start to the campaign which saw them topping the group with six points ahead of the tie.

They won 1-0 and 2-0 against Comoros and Zambia, respectively.

Speaking after Tuesday’s match, Tapera said:

“I can’t say I am proud of the six points that we got because there was a chance for us to qualify for the knockout stage.

“But I am proud of the performance of the boys. Most of these guys, it was their first time to play in an international competition and they showed a lot of skill and organisation, which I feel if given an opportunity, they can graduate to the next level.

“Apart from the result, I’m proud of the boys. They showed a lot of courage and going forward I am sure we will have a stable national team.”

After Saying He’s Better Than Chamisa, Hopewell Moves To Lure Youths With Car Selfie Saying Unlike Nelson, I’m Fighting To Get You Nice Things, But Here Are the Fraud V11s

By Business Reporter | Just after announcing he is better than Nelson Chamisa who is now useless, activist Hopewell Chin’ono has moved to appease Zimbabwean youths with the same claim that has been discredited by a respected doctor whose name he once posted, by publishing the picture of a car saying he wants youths to access nice of things of life, and that he wants them to achieve their Generation Z moment.

Chin’ono seems to have forgotten that he is the very person who has robbed Zimbabwe’s youths of their Generation Z chance by advising the army to descend on the civil society and dismantle Nelson Chamisa’s party (see tweets).

Hopewell Chin’ono advice to army to descend on Chamisa

Chin’ono is also on record saying Chamisa is too poor to lead any political party, and he (Chin’ono) has also said that people who do not have houses should not ask him questions because they have not achieved anything in life like him.

Chin’ono’s claim to owning a car in 1994, also contrasts his new allegation of obtaining £50,000 sports car credit facility from a non existent British dealership in 1996, when he has claimed that he was advised by Dr Tendai Maboreke to sell the vehicle and buy a house from the disposal. Dr Maboreke has expressed outrage at the way he has used his name to validate his sportscar acquisition and the family has told ZimEye they have tried to caution him from abusing their name. Army Boss Stages Coup

Political Reporter-The head of the Zimbabwe National Army Anselem Nhamo Sanyatwe has vowed to crush opposition forces in Zimbabwe and force citizens to support the ruling Zanu PF party.

Sanyatwe told a Zanu PF campaign rally in Nyanga North, where his wife Chido is the Member of Parliament, that soldiers would coerce citizens into supporting Zanu PF.

During the rally, Sanyatwe boldly announced the implementation of a “command voting” system.

Under this directive, voters will be instructed on who to vote for, and non-compliance will result in manipulated election results. Using a vivid analogy, he declared, “Zanu PF will continue ruling until donkeys grow horns,” emphasizing his authority as the army commander.

He concluded his remarks by leading pro-Zanu PF chants and condemning the opposition, whom he referred to as “enemies.”

This rhetoric harkens back to his controversial role as commander of the Presidential Guard during the August 2018 post-election demonstrations, where six protesters and bystanders were fatally shot.

Despite his claims during the Motlanthe Commission of Inquiry that his soldiers did not shoot the crowds, the incident remains a dark stain on his military career.

Following these events, Sanyatwe received multiple promotions from President Emmerson Mnangagwa and was appointed Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Tanzania.

Returning to the military on October 20, 2023, he was promoted to the position of Zimbabwe National Army commander.

While the Zimbabwean constitution prohibits serving soldiers from political affiliations, the military has a notorious history of political interference, especially during elections.

This was evident in 2002 when General Vitalis Zvinavashe declared the army’s allegiance only to political leaders who upheld Zimbabwean values, signaling a long-standing tradition of military involvement in politics.

Lieutenant General Sanyatwe’s recent statements and actions further solidify this trend, raising concerns about the integrity of the upcoming elections and the future of Zimbabwe’s democratic processes.

ARMY VIDEO: Hopewell Calls On All Zimbabweans To Stop Trusting Chamisa, Opposition

By Investigations Reporter | At a time when there has been a lot of Chamisa inspired state-level transformation, including total regime change in Emmerson Mnangagwa’s home country in the last three years, controversial activist Hopewell Chin’ono has called on people to drop their faith in the opposition he says has failed to speak out against military threats. Ironically, this is the same opposition group that Chin’ono has advised the military to descend on regularly since 2018, as he tells the Ministry of Defence this must be done in order to reduce or “avoid tension.”

Dozens Confirm Willing To Nail Mike ‘Mbudzi’ Chimombe

By Crime and Courts Reporter- The state has revealed that at least 13 witnesses have confirmed their availability to testify in the case of Mike Chimombe and Moses Mpofu’s US$7 million goat fraud.

These witnesses include officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and government officials.

Mpofu and Chimombe are accused of forging documents to win the tender for the supply of goats under the Presidential Goat Scheme.

They are being represented by Arshiel Mugiya and Tapson Dzvetero.

The investigating officer, Henry Chapwanya, recorded statements from six witnesses, with plans to obtain at least eight more.

Chapwanya argued that due to this ongoing process, bail should be denied to the accused individuals to prevent potential interference with witnesses. He said:

The accused persons know most of the witnesses because they interacted with them during negotiations for the tender at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Prosecutor Anesu Chirenje presented documentary evidence, a circulated memo on social media by the accused persons, indicating that the Government allocated approximately US$4 million for the project.

This contradicts the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s release, which stated the amount as US$7 million.

The proceedings were scheduled to resume today, July 3, with the defence lawyers expected to cross-examine Chapwanya.

It is important to note that Chimombe and Mpofu were only charged after they clashed with Wicknell Chivayo, regarding the distribution of funds from a controversial US$40 million deal to supply election materials to the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) ahead of the 2023 general elections.

On February 13, 2023, Mpofu and Chimombe allegedly entered into an agreement with South Africa-based Ren-Form CC to participate in ZEC tenders alongside Chivayo but were subsequently sidelined.

They are currently seeking US$10 million from Chivayo for lost earnings.

Furthermore, Chimombe and Mpofu are accused of leaking audio recordings in which Chivayo purportedly asserted that Mnangagwa and other high-ranking government officials were under his influence.

Zanu PF Will Rule Until Donkeys Grow Horns : Army Boss

Advocate Fulcrum Takes Army Commander Head-on

By A Correspondent| Former Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa’s lawyer Advocate Thabani Mpofu has written to Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander General Ancelem Sanyatwe warning him that his recent remarks that they will use command voting to protect Zanu PF’s power were in violation of the Constitution.

In a letter to Sanyatwe, Mpofu demanded that the ZDF Commander unreservedly withdraws his statements within 7 days failure of which he will take steps to ensure that “appropriate remedies under the law are put in motion.”

Sir, it has come to my attention that you have been recorded addressing a gathering of multitudes in the following manner (per my translation):

“…Zanu PF shall rule until donkeys grow horns, whatever your stated and expressed wishes. I am now speaking as the Commander of the Army. We shall use what is called Command Voting… do we understand each other? Forward with Zanu (PF) Forward with (PF)…Forward with ED Mnangagwa. Down with the enemy”

I consider the above statements to be a violation of:

  1. Section 208(2) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe in that you as a member of a security service (the Zimbabwe National Army):

a. In so uttering such statements in a public gathering, acted in a partisan manner.

b. Furthered the interests of a political party- Zanu (PF).

Mpofu demanded that Sanyatwe withdraws his statements or face the remedies under the law.

“Sir, I therefore write to demand, as I do now, that you unreservedly withdraw your above statements within seven days of your receipt of this letter, failing which I shall take steps to ensure that appropriate remedies under the law are put in motion,” said Mpofu.

Linda Masarira Take RBZ Governor John Mushayavanhu To Court

By A Correspondent| Opposition political party leader Linda Masarira has asked the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) to alleviate the current acute foreign currency shortages and help enhance the public’s access to it.

In application filed at the High Court on Wednesday 19 June 2024 by her lawyer Obey Shava of Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, Masarira protested against the pervasive practice of quoting and selling goods and services exclusively in foreign currency particularly the United States of American dollars.

Masarira asked the High Court to declare the practice of levying goods and services exclusively in foreign currency to be a violation of people’s right to the protection and benefit of the law.

Masarira, the leader of Labour, Economists and African Democrats (LEAD) political party, charged that despite the existence of the multi-currency regime, which has been operating since 2009 and which was reinstated by Statutory Instrument 218 of 2023 being the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) (Amendment of Exchange Control Act) Regulations, 2023 to last until December 2030, the majority of domestic transactions in the country is being conducted in United States of American dollars, which has contributed to its scarcity on the market.

Fuel retailers, she said, are selling fuel exclusively in United States of American dollars while some goods and services such as payment of passport fees, are being levied exclusively in foreign currency.

Masarira argued that the current legal framework in respect of the trading of foreign currency, infringes upon people’s right to access foreign currency.

She reasoned that the current legal framework places people, who do not have easy access to foreign currency, into a precarious position as goods and services exclusively priced in foreign currency are effectively out of reach owing to the shortage of currency circulation in the market.

She stated that it is worrying that only a handful of some elite and privileged people could purchase foreign currency at the auction system launched in 2020 as there was no provision for ordinary citizens to purchase foreign currency.

Masarira argued that currently the RBZ prioritises access to foreign currency by importers with verifiable foreign invoices with little consideration being given to people who require smaller amounts of foreign currency for everyday purchases.

The LEAD political party leader wants the High Court to order the RBZ to declare that the existing regulatory framework is overly restrictive and unlawfully hinders people from having access to foreign currency and to order the central bank to facilitate easy and formal access to foreign currency by the public.

Masarira also wants the High Court to order the central bank to expand willing buyer-willing seller trading arrangement to permit herself and the general public to access foreign currency through banks and bureaux de change within 30 days of the granting of the court order.

She also wants the RBZ to be ordered to expand the Operational Guidelines for Authorised Dealers with Limited Authority-Money Transfer Agency and Bureaux de Change to permit herself and the general public to access foreign currency through banks and bureaux de change within 30 days of the granting of the court order.

The RBZ, Masarira says, should be ordered to adopt measures such as collaboration with mobile money operators and mobile money agents to enhance the seamless accessibility of foreign currency by the public within 30 days of the granting of the court order while enterprises and service providers in Zimbabwe must be compelled to provide dual pricing for all their products and services and allow people to purchase commodities in the currency of their choice

You Are Lying to Yourself, Sikhala Tells Sanyatwe, Zanu PF

By A Correspondent| Former Zengeza West legislator Job Sikhala has dismissed remarks by Zimbabwe National Army Commander General Anselem Sanyatwe that Zanu PF will rule till donkeys develop horns, is just fallacy.

Sanyatwe has torched a political storm after a video of him telling some villagers that Zanu PF will rule forever and if need be, they will use command voting.

Sanyatwe vowed President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s party will enforce what he termed “command voting”.

“Zanu PF will continue ruling until donkeys grow horns. Whether you like it or not. Now, I am speaking as the army commander, we are going to use what is called command voting.”

But Sikhala has sworn that Sanyatwe was just lying to himself as it will never happen.

“Zvokuti ZANU PF ichatonga kusvika madhongi amera nyanga kuzvinyepera uko. Kuzvifadza nenhema!!!,” said Sikhala.

Former senior member of the MDC, Senator Morgan Komichi also weighed in on the issue urging Mnangagwa to reign in on Sanyatwe for his reckless remarks.

“The statement attributed to Gen A Sanyatwa that Zanupf will rule forever and he will use command voting using traditional leaders is highly irresponsible, treasonous, unconstitutional and criminal. The President should act. Zimbabwe deserves a better General than this,” said Komichi.

Police Hunting For Chamisa Ally

By A Correspondent| Hatcliffe legislator Agency Gumbo is wanted by the police in connection with an address he made outside the Harare Magistrates Court following the denial of bail to Jameson Timba and 78 other Citizens Coalition for Change members last week.

Gumbo made the announcement on his Twitter account saying he has instructed his lawyers to enquire why the police are seeking to arrest him.

“I am advised that the ZRP are allegedly seeking to arrest me for this address which I gave to the press on the day the bail ruling for my clients was postponed. I am not a criminal. I am a lawyer, an MP and an opposition leader working with and for the #Avondale78 and Hon Timba who are detained illegally in Harare.I have requested my lawyers to enquire into this allegation. My contact is known, my work address is public knowledge and I am available for any formal inquiry. Please respect my right to human dignity as a professional, a public official and as a citizen. Other CCC leaders including Amos Chibaya and Gift Ostallos Siziba are also in trouble for the remarks they made outside the court when the courts denied bail to their members.

In their address, Chibaya and Siziba reminder the Zanu PF regime that protests were constitutional and could be done if the courts continue to unfairly persecute opposition supporters.

Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Gonyet Driver, Wife, and Baby Near Chirundu

warning disturbing video picture image

Chirundu, Zimbabwe – Tragedy struck on the Chirundu highway today as an Alro Shipping truck driver, his wife, and their baby lost their lives in a devastating crash. The accident, which occurred in the early hours, involved the truck and another vehicle, resulting in a collision that left both vehicles beyond repair.

Witnesses reported that the truck was traveling northbound when it collided with an oncoming vehicle, leading to a catastrophic crash that claimed the lives of all occupants in the truck. The names of the victims have not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.

The aftermath- pic: Road Watch Zimbabwe page

As the police continue their investigation and prepare an official statement, the nation has turned to social media to express grief and frustration over the incident. The condition of the Chirundu highway, a vital route for long-haul truck drivers, has come under intense scrutiny following the accident.

Barbara Goddard, a Zimbabwean who recently traveled through the area, shared her harrowing experience on social media, highlighting the perilous state of the road. “We were in Kariba last weekend. That road is horrendous. Trucks were actually battling some places to drive properly. Many were very respectful and trying to move over to allow smaller vehicles to pass safely. I couldn’t imagine having to try to drive that with a full load. Some of the side areas are just huge pits of death traps. Even a truck will flip if it got its wheels in there. We won’t be going back in a long while, I reckon. I pray for our long-distance drivers who have to use these roads… eish.”

Her sentiments echo those of many Zimbabweans who are calling for immediate action to repair and maintain the highway, which is critical for the country’s transport and logistics sector. The road’s deteriorating condition has been a long-standing issue, exacerbating the risk for drivers who navigate it daily.

The loss of the truck driver, his wife, and their baby is a stark reminder of the urgent need for infrastructure improvements. The Chirundu highway is a major artery for commerce, connecting Zimbabwe to neighboring Zambia and facilitating trade across the region. However, its current state poses a significant threat to the safety of all road users.

Local authorities and the Ministry of Transport are expected to address the concerns raised by citizens and outline steps to ensure the highway is made safer. Meanwhile, the community mourns the tragic loss and extends heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

As the nation awaits further details from the police investigation, this incident underscores the critical importance of road safety and infrastructure maintenance. The Chirundu highway, once a symbol of connectivity and economic vitality, now stands as a somber reminder of the potential consequences of neglecting essential public works.

This decision marks a significant shift in the country’s sports culture, acknowledging a grassroots movement that has captivated enthusiasts and participants alike for decades.

Car spinning, characterized by skillful maneuvers and precise control of vehicles, has long been a vibrant subculture within South Africa’s automotive scene. Originating from the streets and evolving into organized events, it combines elements of athleticism, creativity, and technical prowess. For many communities, it serves not only as entertainment but also as a means of cultural expression and a source of pride.

Zim Fail To Break Kenya Jinx

By A Correspondent

In a thrilling showdown at Port Elizabeth’s Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, Kenya’s U23 team, the Emerging Stars, triumphed over Zimbabwe with a decisive 2-0 victory.

The match, held on Tuesday afternoon, showcased Kenya’s resilience and skill as they fought for a spot in the COSAFA Cup semi-finals.

The game remained tightly contested in the first half, with both teams creating few clear chances.

However, it was in the second half that Kenya’s dynamic duo from Gor Mahia, Austin Odhiambo and Benson Omalla, came into their own.

Odhiambo broke the deadlock early in the half, rifling in a precise shot after a pinpoint cross from team captain Rooney.

Omalla extended Kenya’s lead in the 69th minute with a clinical finish, capitalizing on a long ball to loft it over the advancing Zimbabwean goalkeeper.

The victory propelled Kenya to second place in Group B standings, narrowly behind group winners Comoros, who secured their spot with a 1-0 win over Zambia in a simultaneous match. Kenya’s hopes of advancing to the semi-finals now hinge on their position as the best second-placed team across all groups.

For the Emerging Stars, the path to the semi-finals remains contingent on the outcome of Group C’s final matches.

They are banking on either Angola or Namibia, both currently on four points, to falter in their respective fixtures. Angola faces Lesotho, while Namibia takes on Seychelles, with both opponents having secured only a single point each in their previous two outings.

The clash against Zimbabwe was a must-win encounter for Kenya after suffering a setback against Comoros in their previous match. The team’s determination and strategic prowess were evident throughout the game, especially in their cohesive defensive efforts to deny Zimbabwe any comeback opportunities.

With eyes set firmly on advancement, Kenya’s Emerging Stars have demonstrated their capability and resilience in navigating the challenges of the COSAFA Cup.

As they await the results from Group C, the Kenyan squad remains optimistic and prepared to seize any opportunity that presents itself in their quest for tournament glory.

Shock As Warriors Crash Out Of COSAFA Cup

Zimbabwe’s poor run against Kenya continued after losing the 2024 COSAFA Cup, Group B game played on Tuesday.

The result saw the Warriors knocked out of the tournament despite a strong start which saw them topping the group with six points ahead of the tie.

Jairos Tapera’s charges won 1-0 and 2-0 against Comoros and Zambia, respectively.

The national team needed at least a draw to win the group and progress to the semifinals.

However, second half goals from Austin Odhiambo and Benson Omalla ended Zimbabwe’s campaign.

Odhiambo netted in the 54th minute to open the scoring. The second goal from Omalla came in the 72nd minute to seal the victory for the East Africans.

The loss placed the Warriors on third position, while Kenya finished second with Comoros taking the first place after beating Zambia, who ended the group games with no points.
