🔴 12 EFF Supporters Killed in Tragic Bus-Truck Crash After Youth Day Rally

KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa – 17 June 2025

By A Correspondent | Twelve supporters of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have tragically died in a devastating road accident on the R34 near Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal. The group was returning from the EFF’s Youth Day rally held on June 16 in Umlazi, Durban, when their bus collided with a truck late Monday night.

The EFF confirmed the heartbreaking news in an official statement issued Tuesday morning, expressing profound grief over the loss of its members. “These Fighters lost their lives following a show of support for the revolution they belonged to and must be remembered as heroes to whom we owe a great debt,” the statement read.

The party hailed the deceased as “committed Fighters” who had gathered in remembrance of the 1976 Soweto youth uprisings and to reaffirm the ongoing struggle for economic liberation. “They died in the line of duty, and their lives will never be forgotten,” the EFF emphasized.

Several others sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical care. Authorities are in the process of identifying the deceased, and efforts are underway to inform and support the affected families.

EFF leadership has called for a full investigation into the cause of the crash and urged all supporters to keep the families of the victims in their thoughts during this time of mourning.

Further updates on the injured and arrangements for memorial services are expected in the coming days.

Man Burns Wife’s Clothes Over Church Attendance

In a shocking incident in Gwayi, a 45-year-old man has been fined by the Hwange Magistrates’ Court after he burned his wife’s clothes and other belongings in anger over her attending church and leaving their children unattended.

Vic Falls Man Survives Fierce Lion Attack

Metrod Tshuma

By A Correspondent-A Woodlands Resettlement Area near Victoria Falls has survived a savage lion attack over the weekend.

Metrod Tshuma (29) said heard people shouting, dogs barking, and the unmistakable roar of a lion near the village cattle grazing area.

“I heard people shouting and dogs barking. I ran out and heard a lion roaring where our cattle graze, so I ran to meet my colleagues to try and scare it away,” Tshuma recounted.

But before he could act, disaster struck.

“The lion had gone into a thicket close to where I was, with my colleagues behind me. It came from behind and attacked me,” he said.

The lion bit off his thumb and clawed his head and hand, leaving him seriously injured.

Tshuma managed to push the animal away and crawl to safety, screaming for help until others rushed to his aid.

He was rushed to Victoria Falls Hospital, where he remains admitted and is receiving treatment for deep wounds.

“I thank the Almighty God for protecting me because I could have been killed by that lion,” said Tshuma from his hospital bed.

The same lion is believed to have killed a neighbour’s cow the previous day, and shortly after attacking Tshuma, it went on to maul two donkeys.

Residents in the Woodlands area say they are living in fear, with wild animals frequently invading their communities.

Over 50 cattle have reportedly been lost to wildlife this year alone.

“I am appealing to the authorities to help us. Some of these lions are even collared. School children walk long distances to school and they are in danger,” said a concerned resident.

The attack on Tshuma underscores a broader problem facing communities on the edge of wildlife conservation areas.

As animal habitats shrink and climate conditions worsen, encounters between humans and wildlife are becoming more frequent—and often deadly.

Local leaders and residents continue to call for urgent intervention by wildlife authorities to ensure community safety while balancing conservation efforts.

Active Social Media Participation Sinks Mzembi

By Crime and Courts Reporter– Former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi has been denied bail and remanded in custody until July 1, when his long-delayed trial is expected to commence.

Harare magistrate Don Ndirowei made the ruling on Monday, citing Mzembi’s continued presence on social media while in self-imposed exile as a key reason for rejecting his bail application.

Mzembi was arrested last Friday by officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), shortly after quietly returning to Zimbabwe and meeting President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House.

He is accused of defaulting on court appearances dating back to 2019 and failing to comply with three outstanding warrants of arrest.

His lawyer, Mr. Killian Mandiki, submitted that Mzembi had not willfully absconded, arguing that his client had received court permission to temporarily retain his passport in late 2018 to seek emergency medical treatment in South Africa.

Diagnosed with advanced rectal cancer, Mzembi reportedly underwent surgery there before relocating to Zambia in early 2024 due to travel document complications.

Mandiki told the court that upon arriving in Zambia, Mzembi’s condition deteriorated sharply, requiring urgent hospitalization, oxygen support, and close medical monitoring for over 10 days. Medical records were tendered to support his claim.

However, the State—represented by Acting Deputy Prosecutor-General Ms. Tendai Shonhayi—argued that Mzembi failed to make any effort to return and cancel his arrest warrants after his alleged recovery in Zambia in 2024.

The prosecution further noted that despite his medical claims, Mzembi actively campaigned on social media for Saviour Kasukuwere during the 2023 presidential elections.

In his ruling, Magistrate Ndirowei said, “There is a gap as to what transpired with his medical condition. The attached reports could have been useful had he presented himself in 2019, not in 2025.” He further noted that after his reported discharge in 2024, Mzembi made no effort to regularize his legal status or surrender to the courts.

“He was not sick to the extent he wants the court to believe. He was active on social media and politically involved,” Ndirowei stated. He concluded that the State had proven, on a balance of probabilities, that Mzembi had defaulted willfully.

Consequently, Ndirowei confirmed the warrants of arrest, revoked bail, and committed Mzembi to remand prison pending trial.

Apart from the issue of absconding, Mzembi also faces charges of criminal abuse of office.

Prosecutors allege that as Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, he misappropriated television sets worth US$2 million that were procured for fan parks during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

He is also accused of failing to return his passport by November 19, 2018, and missing a scheduled court appearance on January 18, 2019.

Zimbabweans Could Be Banned From Travelling To US

By A Correspondent| Zimbabwe is one of 36 countries that could soon face travel restrictions to the United States due to concerns over identity document fraud and visa violations, according to a Washington Post report on Sunday.

The move follows a memo signed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and circulated to American diplomats over the weekend. The document gives the affected countries 60 days to comply with new rules set by the State Department.

The memo outlines that some countries have failed to meet U.S. standards for issuing reliable identity documents, with several lacking a functional or cooperative government authority to do so. Others reportedly have high numbers of citizens who overstayed visas or violated visa terms.

In some cases, cooperation—such as agreeing to take back third-country nationals deported from the U.S.—could help mitigate U.S. concerns, the memo notes.

The list of countries potentially facing visa restrictions or travel bans includes 25 African nations, among them: Angola, Ghana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Also on the list are four Caribbean nations: Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Lucia; four Asian countries: Bhutan, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan, and Syria; and three in Oceania: Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.

These countries have until 8:00 AM Wednesday to submit an initial plan for how they intend to meet the new requirements.

While the State Department has not publicly confirmed details of the memo, a spokesperson said the agency “continually reevaluates policies to ensure the safety of Americans and lawful compliance by foreign nationals.”

It remains unclear whether any travel bans or visa restrictions will immediately take effect following the deadline.

The memo was issued shortly after former President Donald Trump reinstated his controversial first-term travel ban. That directive blocks entry from 12 nations and imposes restrictions on seven others. In January, Trump also signed an order directing the State Department to identify countries with inadequate vetting systems that could justify a full or partial suspension of travel.

These actions are part of a broader immigration enforcement agenda that includes large-scale deportation plans, visa cancellations, and the rollback of protections for tens of thousands of immigrants.

Walter Mzembi’s Bail Revoked After Court Finds Willful Default

Harare – June 17, 2025

Former Cabinet Minister Walter Mzembi has had his bail revoked after the Harare Magistrates Court ruled that he willfully defaulted court proceedings without a valid explanation.

Presiding over the matter, Magistrate Donald Ndirowei said Mzembi failed to justify his prolonged absence from court, despite submitting medical records. The court found that the attached documents could have only been relevant had he availed himself in 2019 — not six years later in 2025.

“There is a gap regarding what transpired with his medical report. The attached medical records would have sufficed if he had presented himself in 2019, not now,” Magistrate Ndirowei noted.

He further observed that Mzembi made no attempt to return to Zimbabwe and cancel the outstanding warrants of arrest after being discharged from medical care in Zambia in 2024.

“The court is not convinced he was as sick as he wants us to believe. He was, in fact, actively campaigning for Saviour Kasukuwere during the 2023 elections and was visibly present on social media,” the magistrate said.

Magistrate Ndirowei concluded that the State had successfully demonstrated, on a balance of probabilities, that Mzembi’s default was deliberate. “The accused’s submissions fall far short. The warrants of arrest are hereby confirmed, bail is revoked, and he is committed to prison pending trial,” he ruled.

Mzembi will now remain in custody as legal proceedings continue.

R Kelly Hospitalised After Overdosing Medication

American R&B singer R. Kelly was rushed to hospital last week after reportedly overdosing on medication while in solitary confinement at a North Carolina prison, according to court documents filed by his legal team.

The 58-year-old musician, whose real name is Robert Sylvester Kelly, is currently serving a 30-year sentence at the Federal Correctional Institute following his 2021 conviction in New York on charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

According to a court filing by his attorney, Beau B. Brindley, Kelly was placed in solitary confinement on June 10 and was administered anxiety medication by prison staff. Over the following days, he was reportedly given additional prescriptions and instructed to take them.

Three days later, Kelly began experiencing severe side effects, including dizziness, faintness, and seeing black spots in his vision. He subsequently lost consciousness and was transported to Duke University Hospital for emergency treatment.

The filing further alleges that during the ambulance ride, one prison officer remarked, “This is going to open a whole new can of worms.”

Medical personnel at the hospital are said to have discovered blood clots in Kelly’s legs and lungs, prompting plans for surgical intervention.

Brindley claims the overdose was the result of Kelly being given dangerously high quantities of medication and has raised concerns about the quality of medical oversight within the prison system.

Agriculture: Why You Need Records On Your Farm…

By Dr Trywell Muzerengi

Farming goes beyond planting crops and raising animals — it is a business that needs to be managed effectively. One of the key tools for good farm management is record keeping. Accurate and up-to-date records help farmers track activities, evaluate performance, and make informed decisions.

Below are the main types of farm records and why they matter:

  1. Production Records

These track what the farm produces, whether from crops or livestock.

Examples:

Planting dates

Crop types or seed varieties used

Harvest quantities

Number of animals born or sold

Quantity of milk, eggs, or meat produced

Why They Matter:
Production records help farmers identify which crops or animals perform best. This information supports better planning, improved yields, and increased profits in future seasons.

  1. Input Records

Input records show what has been used to support production on the farm.

Examples:

Fertilizers or compost applied

Pesticides or organic sprays used

Animal feed purchases

Labor used for various tasks

Why They Matter:
These records help manage costs and ensure resources are used efficiently. Farmers can compare inputs with outputs to assess whether farming methods are cost-effective.

  1. Financial Records

These detail the farm’s income and expenses, offering a full picture of its financial health.

Examples:

Sales of farm produce

Expenses on seeds, chemicals, or tools

Loan and repayment details

Profit and loss statements

Why They Matter:
Financial records allow farmers to monitor cash flow, assess profitability, and make smart decisions about budgeting and investment.

  1. Inventory Records

Inventory records list all the physical assets owned or used by the farm.

Examples:

Tools and machinery

Livestock and poultry numbers

Stored feed, seeds, and fertilizers

Buildings and storage facilities

Why They Matter:
These records help keep track of valuable assets, avoid unnecessary purchases, and support farm planning and insurance claims.

Conclusion

Record keeping is essential for every farmer who wants to grow a successful and sustainable farming business. Whether small or large-scale, a well-documented farm gives the farmer control, clarity, and the ability to plan for a better future.

Will Minister Tatenda Mavetera Donate Computers To Learners Who Sit On Makeshift Benches Under Trees?

By A Correspondent

Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services Minister Tatenda Mavetera has reaffirmed her commitment to digitalising education across Zimbabwe—but questions remain over whether that promise includes learners in remote and under-resourced areas, many of whom are still learning on makeshift benches and under trees.

On Tuesday, Minister Mavetera delivered a passionate statement following her appearance as guest of honour at the Sandton Group of Schools Awards Ceremony.

She praised the school’s use of cutting-edge educational technology and vowed to bring similar innovations to every school across the country.

“I was truly inspired by their advanced tech interactive boards, digital tools and seamless integration,” she said in a statement.

“As Minister of ICTPCS, I’m committed to accelerating efforts so EVERY school in Zimbabwe accesses this transformative technology.”

She added, “The future of education is digital, and we are making it a reality. As your Minister of ICTPCS, I reaffirm our government’s commitment: We WILL cascade this level of technology to ALL schools. No child will be left behind in the digital transformation of our schools.

This is the standard we are bringing to EVERY school. As Minister of ICTPCS, I will not rest until all students have these opportunities.”

While the minister’s vision has been widely welcomed, observers have raised concerns about the practicality of rolling out digital tools to areas where learners lack even basic infrastructure.

“How will computers and digital boards be used in schools that have no electricity, no roofs, and no desks?” one education rights activist asked on social media.

As the digitalisation agenda gains momentum, many are watching to see whether it will also address deep-rooted infrastructure gaps that continue to disadvantage rural learners.

Mzembi Denied Bail, Remanded In Custody to 1 July

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi has been denied bail and will remain in custody until July 1, when his trial is set to begin.

Mzembi was arrested last Friday by officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), just days after quietly returning to Zimbabwe and holding a private meeting with President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House. He is accused of defaulting on court appearances and failing to comply with three outstanding warrants of arrest. Mzembi’s lawyer, Mr. Killian Mandiki, had earlier filed written submissions arguing that his client’s absence from court was not deliberate. He explained that Mzembi had been granted the temporary release of his passport to seek emergency medical treatment in South Africa after being diagnosed with advanced rectal cancer, for which he underwent surgery.According to Mandiki, Mzembi later relocated to Zambia in early 2024 after he was unable to continue his treatment in South Africa due to travel documentation issues. Upon arrival in Zambia, his condition had reportedly deteriorated significantly. He was immediately admitted to hospital, placed on oxygen support, and closely monitored for over 10 days. Medical records substantiating his condition were submitted to the court as part of his defence.Acting Deputy Prosecutor-General Ms. Tendai Shonhayi, representing the State, submitted written arguments in response. In addition to the charge of failing to comply with arrest warrants, Mzembi faces allegations of theft of trust property. Prosecutors claim he failed to return his passport by November 19, 2018, and missed a scheduled court appearance on January 18, 2019, to answer charges of criminal abuse of office. The criminal abuse charges relate to allegations that Mzembi converted for personal use television sets worth US$2 million.he equipment had originally been purchased for fan parks during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa when he was Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Presidential spokesman Mr. George Charamba confirmed the incident in a statement released to the press. “The truck driver was unaware of who he had blocked, as the Presidential Security Team kept a low but watchful profile,” he said.

The disruption was brief, and no harm or escalation occurred. Mr. Charamba emphasized that the President’s convoy maintained strict adherence to all traffic regulations throughout the journey. “The President’s motorcade obeyed all traffic rules. There were no Police outriders, and the security team stayed discreet during the entire unplanned visit,” he explained.

Sources indicate that the President was making an unannounced stop at the hospital, possibly for a routine inspection or private engagement.

The Office of the President did not comment further on the nature of the hospital visit, maintaining that it was a private matter. The truck driver, who was reportedly shocked to learn whom he had inadvertently delayed, faced no charges or reprimand, according to early reports.

The incident has sparked conversation on social media about the growing efforts by the Presidency to adopt a more modest and low-profile approach during some public and private movements.

Watch: Wicknell Munodaani Chivayo To Purchase 75 Million G700 Aircraft Using State Cash

Controversial Zanu PF businessman and self-styled tycoon Wicknell Munodaani Chivayo has sparked outrage after a video surfaced showing him boasting about plans to acquire a luxurious Gulfstream G700 private jet—allegedly using looted state funds.

Chivayo, known for flaunting his wealth and close ties to President Emmerson Mnangagwa, is widely accused of benefiting from inflated government contracts and diverting public money for personal gain.

In the viral footage, Chivayo can be heard bragging about his intended purchase, claiming the new aircraft will be branded with his initials: “WMC 777.” The Gulfstream G700 is one of the most advanced and expensive business jets in the world, with a price tag reportedly ranging between US$75 million and US$83.5 million depending on customization and model year, according to Guardian Jet.

The businessman, who already owns a US$12 million private jet, shows no signs of slowing down his lavish lifestyle—despite mounting public criticism and growing questions about the origins of his fortune.

Chivayo’s flamboyant display has reignited debate around corruption, abuse of public funds, and the widening gap between Zimbabwe’s elite and its struggling citizens. As calls for accountability grow louder, many are demanding a full investigation into how government-linked contracts have enriched individuals like Chivayo at the expense of the nation.

Watch: Former School Head Publicly Says Zanu PF Is Demonic

By A Correspondent

Masvingo – Former Helen McGhie Primary School headmaster, Hebert Horuno Zengeya, caused a stir after openly criticising the ruling Zanu PF party, calling it “demonic” during a traditional leadership installation ceremony.

Speaking at the recent installation of his cousin, Togara Masunda, as Chief Nyamandi, Zengeya directly addressed Zanu PF Senator Lovemore Matuke, accusing the ruling party of sowing division and destabilising traditional leadership structures for political gain.

“Your Zanu PF government is like an evil spirit,” Zengeya declared. “It is wrecking our chieftainships by spreading hate, dividing families, and setting heirs on each other’s throats for its own political convenience.”

Zengeya also blasted the delay in appointing the new chief, saying, “Mnangagwa took seven years to approve this installation when the law clearly states the process must be completed within two years. The Nyamandi chieftainship has never been resolved through courts or family wrangles—but because of Zanu PF, that’s exactly what’s happening now.”

Government officials reportedly attempted to block Zengeya from speaking as a family representative during the event, but he proceeded to deliver his address to the gathered community and dignitaries.

The bold remarks have sparked conversation on social media, with many Zimbabweans praising Zengeya for voicing frustrations that they say reflect the lived reality of many citizens affected by partisan interference in traditional structures.

Zimbabweans Grill Mnangagwa Over Awarding of Refurbishment Tender at Parirenyatwa Hospital

By A Correspondent

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is facing a wave of public criticism following his surprise visit to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and Sally Mugabe Central Hospital on Monday—a visit that coincided with the immediate commencement of refurbishment work the same evening.

In official photographs released on Monday, Mnangagwa is seen engaging with patients, medical staff, and inspecting facilities.

He also toured NATPHARM, the country’s state-run medical supplies distributor.

Soon after his departure, renovations began under what has been described as the Presidential Hospital Refurbishment Programme.

However, the rapid timing of the developments has triggered widespread concern and suspicion about transparency in the awarding of the project.

Citizens took to social media to demand answers.

“Mnangagwa comes in the afternoon, in the evening work begins. Who got the tenders and how were they issued?” asked one user, Taurai (@Uncle_Tau).

Another, Tapera ES, queried: “When was the tender issued???”

Health activist and X user @DrNom added, “The company is Prevail Group at a cost of 300 million.” This figure, however, has not been officially confirmed by government sources.

To date, authorities have not disclosed which company was awarded the refurbishment contract, how much the project will cost, or what criteria were used for tender selection.

Critics argue the sudden launch of renovations just hours after the president’s visit appears coordinated, raising further questions about due process.

While the improvements to the country’s largest public hospital have been broadly welcomed, many Zimbabweans insist the government must operate with greater accountability and transparency—especially when large sums of taxpayer money and public services are involved.

As one citizen posted: “We need hospitals refurbished, yes—but we also need to know who is being paid to do it, how they got the job, and if they are qualified.”

Fire Your Health Minister, Mnangagwa Told

By A Correspondent| Former Zanu PF youth leader Godfrey Tsenengamu has called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to immediately fire Health Minister Dr. Douglas Mombeshora and his senior officials following the president’s recent surprise visits to major public hospitals in Harare.

In a strongly worded post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Tsenengamu said while Mnangagwa’s unannounced visits to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and Sally Mugabe Central Hospital were commendable, they also exposed deep-rooted negligence by health authorities.

“While Mnangagwa’s visit to the hospitals must be appreciated, the Minister of Health and all his senior staff must be fired with immediate effect,” Tsenengamu wrote.

“It clearly means they didn’t, at any given time, take it upon themselves to conduct a fact-finding mission to ascertain and get first-hand information like Mnangagwa did. The man looks so sad after discovering the state of health in such big public and state-owned hospitals. It’s sad.”

Mnangagwa’s visit, which was not broadcast ahead of time, has triggered widespread commentary on the collapsing state of public healthcare in Zimbabwe. Photos and videos circulated afterward showed the president walking through visibly dilapidated hospital wards, speaking to patients and staff, and appearing visibly concerned about the conditions.

While government officials have remained tight-lipped about the president’s impressions, observers believe the visit may have been prompted by ongoing public criticism over the deteriorating state of health infrastructure, lack of essential drugs, and staff shortages.

Tsenengamu, a vocal government critic since his departure from the ruling party in 2020, said Mnangagwa’s body language alone told a story of disappointment and betrayal by his lieutenants.

“How is it possible that the entire ministry leadership has allowed things to get this bad? This was not an overnight decay. It’s pure neglect.”

Police Officers Critically Injured in Crash Involving Mercedes-Benz…

By A Correspondent

Two police officers and two passengers were critically injured on Saturday night when a Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Ford 4×4 patrol vehicle was struck by a Mercedes-Benz at the Lewisam Business Centre along the Harare-Mutoko Highway.

The ZRP confirmed the incident, stating that the officers were on routine patrol at the time of the collision. All injured parties were rushed to a local hospital, where they are receiving medical attention.

Outcry As City Of Harare Hikes Public Toilet Fees

By A Correspondent| The Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA) has raised alarm over the recent decision by the Harare City Council to hike public toilet fees from US$0.50 to US$1.00, warning that the move is not only inconsiderate but disproportionately affects women and girls in the capital city.

In a strongly worded statement issued Tuesday, CHRA described the fee increase as a “unilateral and gender-blind” decision that is aggravating the plight of already struggling urban residents, especially women who rely on these facilities daily.

“Alert! The unilateral gender-blind decisions made by Harare City Council torment women. The increase of pay toilet user fees from US$0.50 to US$1.00 has seen the emergence of long queues at ‘free’ women’s public toilets in the CBD,” the organization said.

Women, who generally require more frequent access to sanitation facilities—particularly during menstruation or pregnancy—are reportedly being forced to queue for extended periods at the limited number of free toilets, as many cannot afford the new charges. This has resulted in not only a health hazard but also a dignity crisis, CHRA emphasized.

The situation is further compounded by allegations of corruption among some toilet attendants, with reports emerging that some cleaners are deliberately locking toilets to extort bribes from desperate users.

“Public toilet cleaners are reportedly closing facilities as a strategy to solicit for bribes. This is deeply disturbing and unethical, especially given that sanitation is a basic human right,” CHRA stated.

Residents and civil society groups are now demanding that the City of Harare reverses the fee hike and engages in meaningful consultations with stakeholders, including women’s rights groups and informal traders who are among the hardest hit.

“This move is anti-poor and out of touch with the realities of daily life for many Harareans. Access to clean, safe, and affordable public toilets is not a luxury—it is a necessity,” said CHRA director Reuben Akili in a follow-up interview.

Health experts have also warned of potential hygiene crises as more residents are pushed to relieve themselves in unsafe areas due to unaffordable or inaccessible public toilets.

Harare City Council is yet to respond to the growing backlash

Mnangagwa’s Business Aly Sucked In Another Land Grab Saga

By A Correspondent| President Emmerson Mnangagwa is once again at the centre of a storm after revelations that his long-time business ally, Muller Conrad “Billy” Rautenbach, has been controversially awarded over 1,000 hectares of productive farmland—sparking public outrage over corruption, elite enrichment, and betrayal of liberation war ideals.

The land, totalling 1,083 hectares across Springs and Stuhm farms in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East, is being handed over to Rautenbach’s company, Marimba Residential Properties, as compensation for his failed bid to seize land in Aspindale Park, Harare—a property the High Court ruled in 2019 he never legally owned.

The compensation has triggered evictions of indigenous farmers, including war veterans and the reigning Zimbabwe Young Farmer of the Year, who have been lawfully settled on the land for over two decades. Their removal to benefit a well-connected tycoon has been described by civil society and legal experts as “unjust enrichment” and “state-facilitated looting.”

A letter dated 14 March 2025 from Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe confirms the land transfer to Rautenbach—despite a prior court ruling that his claim to the Aspindale land, allocated in 2004 to housing cooperatives such as Joshua Nkomo and Wadzanai, was invalid.

Court records show Rautenbach’s companies were not even registered when they laid claim to the 180 hectares in Aspindale. Yet, in blatant disregard of the judiciary, Mnangagwa reportedly directed Lands Minister Anxious Masuka to offer him farmland in compensation—raising serious concerns of abuse of office and unconstitutional conduct.

“This is not a mere land issue—it’s high-level betrayal,” said a war veteran now facing eviction. “We fought for this land. Now it’s being seized to reward someone who never owned the land he lost.”

The farmers, in a joint letter to War Veterans Minister Monica Mavhunga, painted a devastating picture of livelihoods destroyed: homes, schools, irrigation schemes, livestock, and state-supported farming projects—all wiped out to enrich a politically connected businessman.

In a further twist, some of the land at Stuhm Farm had already been formally leased to Members of Parliament under the Eighth Parliament in 2019. Those agreements, processed through the Ministry of Local Government, are now being ignored, with sitting MPs left dispossessed and uninformed.

The scandal strikes a direct blow to Mnangagwa’s recently launched Title Deeds programme, which claims to secure land ownership and restore trust in property rights. Critics say the current debacle proves the initiative is mere window dressing in the face of executive impunity.

Rautenbach, a multimillionaire with deep interests in mining, transport, energy, and real estate, has long been accused of exploiting his proximity to power for personal gain. He was previously sanctioned by the European Union and the United States for allegedly financing Zimbabwe’s ruling elite during times of political repression.

“This saga highlights everything that’s wrong with land reform today—selective justice, elite capture, and political corruption,” said a legal analyst. “When a man loses a land claim in court and is still compensated with someone else’s property, we have to ask: What rule of law?”

Civil society groups, including the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, are now demanding an independent investigation into the land deal, calling it a clear case of abuse of power and unjust enrichment.

For the evicted farmers, the pain is personal and irreversible.

“We developed this land with our own hands over 23 years,” said one farmer. “Now it’s being handed over to a man who already has too much. This isn’t the Zimbabwe we were promised. This is betrayal at the highest level.”

‘Imitating Traore,’ Mnangagwa Hands Out Another Fleet Of Tipper Trucks Instead Of Ambulances

HE President ED Mnangagwa has officially handed over a second tranche of tipper trucks and front-end loaders under the auspices of the Presidential Youth Fund.

The initiative reaffirms the Government’s commitment to empowering young people through the provision of productive assets, thereby fostering sustainable livelihoods and inclusive economic participation, ZANU PF party reports saying.

Government Celebrates ZiG “Success” While Realities on the Ground Tell a Different Story…

By A Correspondent

Despite bold proclamations from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ), the government’s latest attempt to dress up the ZiG currency as a success appears to be more rhetoric than reality. In a statement released Monday, the RBZ claimed that local currency transactions on the National Payments System had jumped from 26 percent in April 2023 to 43 percent in 2024—a 17 percent rise since ZiG was launched.

The central bank lauded this as a sign of growing confidence in the local currency. “The ZiG continues to experience widespread usage in the economy,” the RBZ said, painting a rosy picture of acceptance that sharply contrasts with the real experiences of Zimbabwean citizens still battling volatile prices and limited access to basic goods.

Further amplifying its upbeat tone, the RBZ reported that the country’s foreign currency reserves now exceed US$700 million, presenting it as a buffer that will supposedly stabilize the ZiG. The Bank also projected a six percent economic growth rate for 2025, attributing it largely to a strong agricultural season.

But behind the statistics lies a different truth: ordinary Zimbabweans remain unconvinced. Trust in government-backed currencies has been eroded by decades of hyperinflation, policy failures, and abrupt monetary shifts. While the RBZ hails numeric gains, many citizens see a familiar pattern of inflated optimism used to mask deeper structural economic problems.

In reality, the so-called resurgence of the ZiG may be little more than a forced adaptation, driven more by limited alternatives than genuine confidence. As the government doubles down on its narrative, the public continues to ask: can rhetoric feed families—or is this just another currency experiment doomed to fail?

Fresh Details In Monday’s Cameroon Street Money Heist

Former Warriors team manager and prominent businessman, Rafik Adam, has been revealed as the victim in a shocking armed robbery in Harare on Monday, in which US$500,000 was stolen.

The incident occurred at Adam’s business offices located at the intersection of Cameroon Street and Albion Street in the heart of Harare’s downtown area. According to preliminary reports, a gang of armed robbers stormed the premises and made off with the large sum of money under dramatic circumstances.

Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing but did not disclose further details regarding the suspects or how the robbery unfolded.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:
“We can confirm that a robbery took place involving a substantial amount of money. The matter is under investigation and we will provide more information as it becomes available.”

Sources close to the investigation say the robbers appeared well-organized and targeted the office with precision, suggesting possible inside knowledge or surveillance prior to the attack.

Rafik Adam is widely known in Zimbabwe’s football circles for his tenure as team manager of the national football team, the Warriors. He has since ventured into business, operating several enterprises in Harare.

Mawarire Exposes Mnangagwa Over ‘Cover up’ Hospital Visits

By Jane Mlambo| Political activist Jealousy Mawarire has accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa of using his unannounced visits to public hospitals as a smokescreen to justify an allegedly corrupt multi-million-dollar medical equipment deal involving a South African company.

President Mnangagwa on Monday made surprise inspections at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals and Sally Mugabe Central Hospital, with state media reporting that the visits were meant to help the President “gain a clearer understanding of the challenges facing the country’s public health institutions.”

But Mawarire, a longtime critic of the Zanu PF-led administration, dismissed the visits as a public relations stunt designed to legitimize what he claims is a murky US$439 million contract with TTM Global Medical Exports, which was allegedly signed without going to tender.

“You didn’t visit the hospitals to gain a clearer understanding of anything,” Mawarire said in a scathing statement posted on X (formerly Twitter). “You visited in order to justify, as usual, the monetization of our problems.”

The outspoken activist further alleged that Mnangagwa’s office has already approved a dubious scheme spearheaded by what he described as the President’s “obese proxy,” whom he claims is pushing a controversial “presidential scheme for the provision of cancer treatment equipment.”

Mawarire also questioned the use of public funds collected through the recently introduced sugar tax, suggesting that the levy is now being abused to finance the opaque deal.

“Zvichapera hazvo manje manje,” he wrote, a Shona phrase meaning “This will come to an end soon.”

While the government has yet to respond to the allegations, the claims have sparked renewed scrutiny over transparency in government procurement and the management of public health resources in a country battling economic collapse and a crumbling healthcare system.

If confirmed, the alleged no-tender deal with TTM Global could further tarnish Mnangagwa’s administration, which has previously faced accusations of mismanaging COVID-19 funds and other healthcare-related tenders.

Kandege Craze Hits Zimbabwe, Concern Over Mental Health on Youths

By A Correspondent| A popular online betting game Aviator commonly referred to as ‘Kandege’ or ‘Chindege’ is wreaking havoc amid concerns that it is causing a lot of mental health problems among youths.

Unlike conventional sports betting, Aviator doesn’t require any sports knowledge or analysis with players simply waging on how long a virtual airplane will fly before crashing. Its fast pace, minimal rules, and instant payout system have made it one of the most addictive betting games in Zimbabwe today.

A recent news article reported that a police officer committed suicide after losing money he had borrowed.

In another incident, a Chipinge mechanic reportedly committed suicide and was only saved after he had lost thousands of dollars to Kandege. According to a reliable source, the mechanic sold a vehicle engine of a client who had brought his vehicle for repairs and could not stomach facing the client, deciding to commit suicide.

There are many other unreported cases of people who went crazy after losing money to these online games including kandege.

A former manager at Bakers Inn who is serving a one-year jail sentence recently narrated how he lost over US$2000 while betting on Kandege.

The former manager said he was trying to raise money to take his recently eloped wife to see his parents and used company money which he lost throughout the night.

Fresh Details Emerge in Mzembi’s Arrest

By Crime and Courts Reporter — Fresh details have emerged surrounding the arrest of former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi, who had reportedly been living in Zambia before his recent detention.

On Monday, Mzembi appeared in court for the second time and was remanded in custody until today, when Magistrate Donald Ndirowei is expected to deliver a ruling on the matter.

Mzembi’s lawyer, Mr. Killian Mandiki, filed written submissions arguing that his client’s absence from court was not deliberate. He explained that Mzembi had been granted the temporary release of his passport to seek emergency medical treatment in South Africa after being diagnosed with advanced rectal cancer, for which he underwent surgery.

According to Mandiki, Mzembi later relocated to Zambia in early 2024 after he was unable to continue his treatment in South Africa due to travel documentation issues. Upon arrival in Zambia, his condition had reportedly deteriorated significantly. He was immediately admitted to hospital, placed on oxygen support, and closely monitored for over 10 days. Medical records substantiating his condition were submitted to the court as part of his defence.

Acting Deputy Prosecutor-General Ms. Tendai Shonhayi, representing the State, is also expected to submit written arguments in response.

The criminal abuse charges relate to allegations that Mzembi converted for personal use television sets worth US$2 million. The equipment had originally been purchased for fan parks during the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa when he was Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Mines Minister’s Reply Over Sudden Backdated Certificates Govt’s Always Printing Every Time There’s A Gold Gush | FULL TEXT

Mines Minister answers Senate questions over why it is that every time gold is discovered, the ministry brings in different people to take over the mine.

Minister responds as follows- Minister: Our ministry gives licenses to explore which are called EPO’s to women and youth the number, I will give you later but I might as well tell you that in Hwange there are four women who are shareholders, who have got 15 mines but I am hearing what you’re saying Senate President that there are other people who are being given backdated certificates. I was asking Senate President that can the honourable Senator tell me who exactly has been given that so that I know them-why did I ask for these? The reason is that each province has got a mining director in each province who inspect everything. The mining director is the one who investigates disputes.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/18LL7uBCpJ/?mibextid=wwXIfr

What I was asking for is if the honourable member knows people who have received such treatment he must disclose them right now so that I may attend to them. We do not want people to get backdated permits. We want to stop that; we want to fix it. I thank you.

Whenever claims arise on the validation of certificates the commissioner where the parties choose; should try to resolve the dispute and in many cases there is inadequate recording of the proceedings so that at the end of the day what transpires before the commissioners is not properly recorded what steps are being taken or what steps may be taken to ensure that those disputes are a bit more formal than they are at the present moment?

Four Family Members Die in Honda Fit, Ford Ranger Horror Crash

By Crime and Courts Reporter — Police have confirmed the tragic deaths of four members of the same family, including a three-year-old girl, following a horrific head-on collision between a Ford Ranger and a Honda Fit along the Karoi-Binga Road on Sunday evening.

The accident, which occurred around 6:30pm at the 25km peg, involved a total of 19 passengers — seven in the Ford Ranger and 12 in the Honda Fit.

The victims, all from the Matonde family of Dixie Farm in Magunje, were identified as:

  • Juliet Matonde (32)
  • Eunice Matonde (13)
  • Debra Matonde (8)
  • Letwin Matonde (3)

All four died on the spot.

The overloaded Honda Fit — a vehicle increasingly associated with unsafe mushikashika operations — has once again brought road safety enforcement into question. Concerns continue to mount over the lax regulation of these vehicles, which are often used for public transport despite not being fit for purpose.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the details in a statement.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a fatal road accident which occurred on 15 June 2025 at 18:30hrs at the 25km peg along the Karoi-Binga Road where a Ford Ranger vehicle with seven passengers on board collided with a Honda Fit vehicle carrying 12 passengers,” he said.

“As a result, four people died on the spot while 15 others were seriously injured.”

The bodies were taken to Karoi District Hospital mortuary for post-mortem, and the injured were also admitted there for treatment.

Police say investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.

Mnangagwa Ambushes Pari, Witnesses Own Rot

By Health Reporter – President Emmerson Mnangagwa Monday witnessed the grim reality of Zimbabwe’s collapsing public health system when he made a surprise visit to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare.

ED Pari Visit

The visit, announced by government spokesperson Nick Mangwana on X (formerly Twitter), included a tour of two central hospitals in the capital and a stop at the National Pharmaceutical Company (NatPharm) warehouse.

Mangwana posted photos showing Mnangagwa moving through visibly decaying hospital corridors, peeling walls, broken ceilings, and outdated equipment — stark images that reflect years of neglect in the country’s largest referral health institution.

“Today ( Monday), President @edmnangagwa made an unannounced visit to two central hospitals in Harare and the Natpharm warehouse. This hands-on approach underscores a profound commitment to understanding the realities on the ground and signals a renewed focus on improving health outcomes for all citizens,” Mangwana wrote.

But while authorities tried to frame the visit as a sign of renewed commitment, the images tell a different story — one of systemic failure.

The crumbling infrastructure, lack of basic supplies, and demoralised staff at Parirenyatwa are symptomatic of a broader crisis engulfing Zimbabwe’s public health sector.

Years of underfunding, corruption, and poor governance have left public hospitals in dire straits.

Most facilities regularly run out of essential drugs, and patients are often told to bring their own bandages, painkillers, or even fuel for ambulances.

Doctors and nurses have gone on repeated strikes over poor salaries and unsafe working conditions, while many senior professionals have left the country for better opportunities abroad.

At Parirenyatwa, once a flagship of Zimbabwe’s health system, many wards are dysfunctional, equipment is outdated or broken, and patients often share beds.

It is not uncommon for surgeries to be postponed due to lack of electricity or running water.

Mnangagwa’s visit comes amid growing public frustration over the deteriorating state of health services, particularly in the wake of Zimbabwe’s economic decline and ballooning public debt.

Observers say the President’s unannounced visit may have been designed to counter criticism, but it has also drawn attention to years of inaction.

Health activists were quick to point out that what Mnangagwa saw was not an anomaly but the everyday condition faced by ordinary Zimbabweans. “This is the daily reality in our hospitals — the system is broken,” one Harare-based doctor posted online in response to the pictures.

Critics also argue that addressing the health crisis requires more than surprise visits and social media statements. What’s needed, they say, is genuine political will, sustained investment, and accountability in the allocation of public health resources.

Details in Midlands Hotel Blaze

By A Correspondent – A water-heating kettle that may have been left on in one of the rooms is suspected to have caused the fire that gutted part of the historic Midlands Hotel in Gweru on Friday evening, leaving a trail of destruction but no injuries or fatalities.

According to preliminary investigations by the Gweru City Council Fire Department, the blaze was likely sparked by a water-heating kettle that may have been left on in one of the rooms.

“When we received the SOS around 7pm, we rushed to the scene.

The stairway doors were locked, so we had to use ladders to access the first floor,” said Mr Felix Muguti, Chief Fire Officer for Gweru City Council. “We broke through the ceiling to contain the fire, which was already spreading.

Unfortunately, all property in the affected room — including beds and tenants’ clothing — was destroyed. But we managed to stop the fire from spreading further.”

The swift response of the fire brigade earned praise from residents and tenants at the hotel, many of whom feared the worst.

“I am a tenant here. The whole incident really got me worried. I was afraid for my possessions, but I’m happy the fire was dealt with quickly,” said one tenant who spoke to ZBC News. “Had it not been for the swift reaction of the team, we could be telling a different story now.”

Another tenant added: “For a moment I was really frightened, but I’m relieved now that it’s over and the damage was contained.”

While the fire was successfully brought under control before it could engulf more sections of the hotel, the incident has reignited concerns about electrical safety, especially during the winter months when use of heating appliances increases.

\

In response, the Civil Protection Department has issued a warning urging citizens to be vigilant when using electrical gadgets and heating devices.

“We urge members of the public to exercise extreme caution when operating electrical appliances, particularly during the cold season,” said a spokesperson.

The Midlands Hotel, one of the oldest hospitality establishments in Gweru, is expected to undergo repairs following assessments of the damage.

Macheso Holds Back Tears at Nyamhondera’s Honorary Gig

By Showbiz Reporter – Sungura maestro Alick Macheso struggled to hold back tears over the weekend as he paid an emotional tribute to legendary music producer Bothwell Nyamhondera, whose profound contribution to Zimbabwean music was celebrated at a star-studded appreciation gala held at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare.

The event, hailed as long overdue, brought together some of the biggest names in Zimbabwean music to honour a man credited with shaping the sonic identity of generations.

For Macheso, however, the occasion was deeply personal, a moment that stirred raw memories of his own journey from obscurity to stardom, much of it shaped under Nyamhondera’s gentle guidance.

Fighting back tears, the Orchestra Mberikwazvo frontman spoke of Nyamhondera as “a national treasure who must be honoured in his lifetime,” recounting how the veteran producer believed in him long before the world knew his name.

“Words are not enough to honour Nyamhondera for the great love he showed me when I formed Orchestra Mberikwazvo in 1998,” Macheso said. “I used to walk from Chitungwiza to Msasa to record, but he never turned me away. Sometimes he’d even bail me out because he believed in my talent.”

This was not the first time the revered bassist and composer has shown vulnerability in public.

Known for his humility despite being one of Zimbabwe’s most decorated musicians, Macheso has previously broken down in tears during performances.

In those moments, the crowd often witnesses the depth of Macheso’s gratitude and emotional connection to the people who helped shape his journey.

At Saturday’s gala, the emotion in Macheso’s voice and the tears in his eyes reminded the audience of the quiet strength behind his public persona — a man who, despite fame, has never forgotten his roots or the people who lifted him along the way.

He called for the Nyamhondera tribute to become an annual event, lamenting Zimbabwe’s tendency to honour its greats only after they are gone.

“Let us not wait for people to die to appreciate them. This should be done every year for our living legends,” he urged.

Fellow artists echoed Macheso’s sentiments.

Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele, who worked with Nyamhondera in the late 1980s, said the veteran producer remained a mentor even today.

“The history of Zimbabwean music is incomplete without mentioning Nyamhondera,” Ndebele said. “He shaped many of us and helped build our sound.”

Pastor Charles Charamba, whose gospel career was also nurtured by Nyamhondera, described him as a rare talent with a giving heart.

“I owe him a lot. He showed me genuine love and gave me the confidence to grow,” Charamba said.

The night was marked by electrifying and emotional performances from Macheso, Ndebele, and the Charambas — Pastor Charles and his wife Amai Olivia — whose powerful joint set left the crowd in awe.

Event organiser Pastor Hermain Chimusoro praised the turnout and commitment of the performers, saying the overwhelming response confirmed the love and respect Nyamhondera commands across generations.

“I was humbled by these artistes who showed up despite the venue change from HICC to 7 Arts. The concept lived up to expectations. We want this to be an annual tradition,” Chimusoro said.

The gala was more than a night of music — it was a moment of collective gratitude, reminding the nation of the importance of preserving Zimbabwe’s musical heritage while those who built it are still alive to feel the applause.

Opposition MP Slams Zanu PF-Controlled Council Over Misplaced Priorities

By A Correspondent

Chiredzi Central MP Ropafadzo Makumire has raised alarm over Chiredzi Town Council’s decision to fund a US$50,000 trip to the 2025 International Youth World Camp in Busan, South Korea, despite mounting financial woes and unpaid staff salaries.

The trip, set for July 4–16, will include two junior councillors, one focal person, and Mayor Jameson Charumbira. Makumire condemned the expenditure, calling it irresponsible under the current circumstances.

“Our council workers haven’t been paid for months, yet resources are being channelled into foreign trips,” said Makumire in a letter addressed to council officials. “I strongly urge the cancellation of this trip until the council has met its obligations to employees.”

Makumire warned that public trust was eroding as service delivery continues to deteriorate. “There are service vehicles that are grounded, garbage collection is irregular, and yet we have US$50,000 to spend on travel?”

Council insiders confirmed that funds for the trip have already been allocated, with airfares reportedly paid in advance. One employee, who spoke anonymously, revealed that “contract staff haven’t been paid for almost two months, and permanent staff haven’t seen salaries since February.”

Despite growing public backlash and Makumire’s appeal, a source within the council stated, “The programme is going ahead as planned.”

Unpacking Kudakwashe Tagwirei’s Political Agenda

By A Correspondent

Kudakwashe Tagwirei, the controversial businessman and founder of the Bridging Gaps Foundation, has once again made headlines — this time for an expansive donation campaign in Nyanga North constituency.

Tagwirei is also the man behind Sakunda Energy…

On Sunday, his foundation distributed grocery hampers to over 3,000 households, commissioned several boreholes, and handed over medical equipment to local clinics.

Tagwirei has maintained that the initiative is purely philanthropic. “This is a goodwill gesture, nothing more,” he said during the handover ceremony. “Our role as citizens is to step in where we can, to bridge the gap and help uplift communities.”

But not everyone is convinced. Political analysts argue the scale and visibility of the donations suggest a calculated political strategy rather than simple generosity.

“You don’t donate at this scale — boreholes, food, medical supplies — in a politically strategic rural constituency without a bigger plan,” said a Harare-based analyst. “This is nation-building optics. He’s not just giving — he’s positioning.”

Tagwirei’s close ties to the ruling elite and his dominance in the energy and mining sectors have long raised questions about his political ambitions. While he has never held public office, his influence behind the scenes is widely acknowledged — and now, his public visibility is escalating.

Critics warn that such philanthropic acts often function as informal campaign tools, especially in rural constituencies where material needs are high and state support is limited. The line between charity and political mobilization, they argue, is increasingly blurred.

“Let’s not pretend this is apolitical,” said another analyst. “Philanthropy in Zimbabwe has historically served as a launchpad for political projects. Tagwirei is following a well-worn path.”

While Tagwirei has dismissed speculation that he is eyeing public office, his moves are fueling broader debates about wealth, influence, and the future of leadership in Zimbabwe.

For now, the question lingers: is Dr Tagwirei bridging gaps — or building a political base?

Govt Pledges Gukurahundi Compensation While Failing To Pay 2018, 2019 Victims

17 June 2025 — Bulawayo

The Zimbabwean government has pledged to begin compensating victims of the Gukurahundi massacres, a significant but controversial announcement made Tuesday by Deputy President of the National Council of Chiefs, Chief Fortune Charumbira — even as families of victims of more recent atrocities, including the August 2018 and January 2019 army shootings, remain uncompensated.

Speaking at a press conference in Bulawayo, Chief Charumbira said community hearings into the 1980s genocide will commence on June 26, 2025, across Matabeleland North and South. The hearings will be presided over by traditional leaders, supported by local panels and counsellors. He said the state is “ready to compensate” victims on a case-by-case basis, with reparations tailored to each individual’s loss.

“Cases which come out well and legitimately so, that require compensation — the government is ready to compensate,” Charumbira told reporters.
“The quantum can’t be predetermined… We can’t give the same amount. It depends on each case.”

Yet, the announcement has immediately triggered fresh outrage and accusations of selective justice. Victims’ families from the 2018 post-election shootings — including the family of slain activist Tinashe Choto, who was shot in the head by security forces in Harare — have still not received any compensation, nearly seven years on.

The government has also failed to deliver reparations to families of those killed during the January 2019 fuel protests, when the military and police unleashed a brutal crackdown on unarmed civilians, leaving at least 17 people dead and dozens injured.

Critics say the timing and political choreography of the Gukurahundi reparations announcement — less than two weeks before the hearings — is a tactical maneuver by President Emmerson Mnangagwa to sanitise his image while ignoring contemporary human rights abuses perpetrated under his leadership.

“This is a hollow promise wrapped in cultural theater,” said one human rights lawyer, who asked not to be named. “The same state that is refusing to acknowledge liability or pay reparations to the families of 2018 and 2019 victims now wants to play redeemer on Gukurahundi. It’s not justice — it’s political opportunism.”

While Chief Charumbira insisted that the programme was endorsed “at the highest level of government” and backed by President Mnangagwa himself, the mechanisms for compensation remain vague. He declined to provide any financial benchmarks, saying it was up to the chiefs and victims to negotiate terms based on “merit.”

The traditional leaders will be assisted by 14-member community panels and two rapporteurs each, with all records captured digitally and stored under the custody of the chiefs. Diaspora victims were told to travel to Zimbabwe if they wish to participate, as no hearings will be held outside the country.

“This is a quasi-judicial process,” said Charumbira. “If you have a good case, come and talk to the chief. They will give you a date in September.”

The outreach is expected to last no more than six months, with hearings held confidentially to protect victim identities. Despite its intentions, the programme risks being overshadowed by the state’s refusal to engage with other unresolved atrocities — especially those committed under Mnangagwa’s own administration.

For the family of Tinashe Choto and others still seeking closure, the government’s silence has been deafening.

“Justice delayed is justice denied,” said a family friend of Choto. “You can’t build peace on a foundation of hypocrisy.”

Horror Crash Kills Four From One Family on Karoi-Binga Road

Karoi | 16 June 2025 — A devastating road accident has claimed the lives of four members of the Matonde family — including three young girls — after a head-on collision between a Ford Ranger and a Honda Fit along the Karoi-Binga Road on Sunday evening.

The tragedy struck at the 25-kilometre peg around 6:30pm, when the two vehicles — carrying a shocking total of 19 people — collided with fatal force. The impact killed four family members from Dixie Farm in Magunje instantly: Juliet Matonde (32), Letwin Matonde (3), Debra Matonde (8), and Eunice Matonde (13).

Police say the Ford Ranger was carrying 7 people, while the Honda Fit — notorious across Zimbabwe for being dangerously overloaded as part of the illegal mushikashika transport system — was packed with 12 passengers.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident:

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a fatal road accident which occurred on 15 June 2025 at 18:30hrs at the 25km peg along the Karoi-Binga Road where a Ford Ranger vehicle with seven passengers on board collided with a Honda Fit vehicle carrying 12 passengers. As a result, four people died on the spot while 15 were seriously injured.”

The injured have been admitted to Karoi District Hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment. The deceased were also transported to the same hospital for post-mortem examinations.

This latest carnage is certain to reignite debate over the enforcement of traffic regulations, especially the reckless use of small private vehicles like Honda Fits as pirate taxis. Despite numerous warnings and public awareness campaigns, overloaded mushikashikas continue to dominate Zimbabwe’s roads, putting lives at risk daily.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision.

Trump Orders Tehran Evacuation Amid Escalating Tensions with Iran

BREAKING: U.S. President Orders Tehran Evacuation Amid Escalating Tensions with Iran

Washington D.C. – 16 June 2025, 23:30

By Dorrothy Moyo | U.S. President Donald J. Trump has issued a dramatic public call for the immediate evacuation of Tehran, declaring that Iran should have signed the nuclear deal he previously proposed. In a late-night post on social media, Trump warned that “IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON” and lamented the “waste of human life,” adding that he had long warned of this outcome.

The statement comes amid intensifying missile exchanges between Iran and Israel, now entering their fourth day. Tensions are mounting in Washington as lawmakers scramble to prevent unchecked military escalation.

Democratic Senator Tim Kaine of Virginia responded by introducing a war powers resolution aimed at restricting the President’s authority to launch attacks on Iran without congressional approval. “The American people have no interest in sending service members to fight another forever war in the Middle East,” Kaine said, calling for a formal debate and vote in Congress before any U.S. military action is taken.

With both military and political tensions flaring, global attention has turned to the possibility of a broader regional conflict — and how much power the U.S. president should have in steering it.

🔴 Nyasha Gwazemba Implicated in Another Certificate of Sponsorship Scam

By A Correspondent | Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – Two years after his initial arrest for impersonating a medical doctor and running a fake visa facilitation scheme, Nyasha William Gwazemba is once again at the centre of a fresh Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) scam involving thousands of dollars.

A new victim has emerged, sharing a message (attached) that details how Gwazemba (pictured) allegedly received £700 in the UK and an additional US$1,700 in Zimbabwe from a family seeking a UK work visa. The money, the complainant claims, was sent to Gwazemba’s mother at his instruction. The payments were made under the promise that he would facilitate a CoS for the victim’s daughter — a legal requirement for employment in the UK.

This fresh allegation mirrors a pattern from 2022, when Gwazemba was arrested after duping dozens across Bulawayo, Harare, and other towns. At the time, he posed as a UK-based doctor, charging victims up to US$600 each while claiming he could process UK work visas. One woman was conned out of US$500, prompting her family to contact this publication. In a sting operation, private investigators apprehended Gwazemba at a fuel station in Gwabalanda, after he tried to collect a passport and deposit from an undercover agent.

At that time, Gwazemba boasted that he had police connections and would never see the inside of a jail cell. He was detained at Luveve Police Station, but there is no public record of a successful conviction.

Now, evidence has emerged showing bank transfers linked to Gwazemba’s account, implicating him once more in what appears to be a repeated and deliberate pattern of fraud.

When contacted for comment regarding the latest allegations, Gwazemba initially denied any knowledge, saying:

“I don’t know that person.”

However, once presented with evidence of the bank transfer bearing his account details, he abruptly dropped the call and failed to respond to subsequent messages or calls aimed at completing the interview.

This silence has only intensified public outrage, with renewed calls for police to reopen the case and investigate whether he is part of a larger syndicate targeting Zimbabweans desperate to escape economic hardship.

Authorities have repeatedly urged citizens not to trust individuals claiming to offer UK visas or job placements, and to verify all recruitment offers through licensed and accredited agencies only.

“No individual can help you get a UK visa or Certificate of Sponsorship. Always use official government channels,” stressed a source close to the investigators.

Anyone who may have fallen victim to Gwazemba is encouraged to report their case at Luveve Police Station or contact immigration fraud hotlines.

This incident highlights a disturbing trend in Zimbabwe’s job placement sector, where fraudulent agents continue to exploit the hopes and savings of struggling families seeking a better life abroad.- ZimEye

USD500,000 Looted By Armed Robbers

🔴 BREAKING NEWS: ZRP Probes Shocking US$500K Armed Heist in Harare CBD as Public Questions Source and Storage of Cash

Harare, Zimbabwe – 16 June 2025

A brazen broad daylight robbery has rocked Harare’s central business district after four armed suspects stormed a mall at the corner of Cameron and Albion Street and vanished with a staggering USD 500,000 in cash.

In a public alert posted by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the incident occurred around 10:00 AM on Sunday, the 16th of June. The suspects, described only as “four unknown individuals armed with an unknown pistol,” reportedly pounced on a business premise before fleeing with the massive sum of money.

While authorities have not yet disclosed the name of the business involved or provided further investigative updates, the announcement has ignited a wave of confusion, skepticism, and outrage among the public online.

💬 Public Shock and Suspicion

The news has triggered a flood of questions across social media platforms, with citizens demanding to know why such a vast amount of cash was being held on-site instead of in a bank.

“Why keep such a large amount of money and not bank it?” asked @tonderayi_m, echoing the sentiments of many who speculated the stash may be linked to illicit dealings or internal collusion.

Others like @wkays2 suggested insider involvement, noting, “Also believe there are some insiders. Anyway let’s leave homicide to dream.”

Fanwell Zvigumbu expressed disbelief in Shona, “Whr was the money? This is nonsense. Keeping all that money in a cashbox… regai matsotsi atore zvavo – mari inopinda mu circulation.” (“Let the robbers take it – at least the money enters circulation.”)

🏦 A Reflection of a Broken Banking System?

The incident has once again spotlighted Zimbabwe’s complex and cash-heavy economy, where many businesses avoid the formal banking system due to high transaction costs, fear of account seizures, or lack of trust in financial institutions.

“In a country where individuals have millions in cash, banks seem to have nothing,” said @gideonvic300.

Multiple users questioned why such an amount was even present in the CBD, while others mocked the situation with humour and disbelief. “Half a million USD???” exclaimed @farai_mccloud with shock emojis, while another simply said, “Damn I wish I was part of them.”

🚨 Police Investigation Underway

ZRP says investigations are in full swing and promised that “more details will be released in due course.” However, the lack of surveillance footage, suspect identities, or traceable leads as of now has cast doubt on how quickly justice will be served.

Speculation about the real motive and backstory behind the incident is growing rapidly online, with some questioning whether this is a genuine robbery or a cover-up for a deeper financial crime.

As the nation reels from this incident, pressure mounts on law enforcement and financial regulators to explain how such risky cash handling practices remain unchecked — and whether Zimbabwe’s criminal underworld is now more organized than ever.

This story is developing.

Mnangagwa Faces Parirenyatwa Rot In Surprise Hospital Visit

ED Pari Visit

By Health Reporter – President Emmerson Mnangagwa was Monday confronted with the grim reality of Zimbabwe’s collapsing public health system when he made a surprise visit to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare.

“Today, President @edmnangagwa made an unannounced visit to two central hospitals in Harare and the Natpharm warehouse.

ED Pari wards visit

Police Sound Alarm as 11 Vehicles Stolen Across Zimbabwe in One Day

Police have raised the alarm following a dramatic rise in vehicle thefts, with at least 11 cars stolen across the country on June 11, 2025. Authorities are urging motorists to exercise extreme caution, particularly when leaving vehicles unattended or offering lifts to strangers.

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said the spike in car thefts is becoming a serious national concern. The incidents — many involving negligence such as unlocked doors or keys left in the ignition — were reported mostly in Harare and Mashonaland West.

Among the cases was a break-in at business premises in Avonlea, Harare, where thieves made off with two vehicles — a Toyota Hilux and a Mazda BT50 — along with other property including generators, solar batteries, money-counting machines, and electronics. The Toyota Hilux was later found abandoned in Majuru Village, Kutama.

In Mutorashanga, a man left his Honda Fit parked behind a shop with the keys still inside. By midnight, it had vanished.

In Karoi, a 29-year-old man allowed an acquaintance, identified only as Moses Kachasu, to sleep in his Toyota Fun Cargo overnight. Despite the keys being kept inside the house, the suspect allegedly started the car using unknown means and drove off.

Another incident in Fairview Park, Ruwa, saw burglars break into a home, steal valuables and car keys, and escape with a locked Nissan Caravan NV350.

In central Harare, a second Honda Fit was stolen after being left unlocked at the corner of Leopold Takawira and Samora Machel Avenue.

Commissioner Nyathi stressed the importance of basic precautions, advising motorists to lock vehicles, never leave keys inside, and remain alert, whether at home or in public.

“Drivers and vehicle owners must play a key role in safeguarding their property,” he said. “Vigilance is crucial — especially in residential areas, CBD parking zones, and other vulnerable locations.”

PSG Punish Atletico De Madrid

Sports Correspondent

Paris Saint-Germain’s relentless pursuit of a historic quadruple stayed firmly on course as they dismantled Atlético de Madrid 4-0 in their opening match of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™. On a scorching day at the Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, the Ligue 1 champions delivered a masterclass in dominance, punishing a 10-man Atleti side with a ruthless display of attacking football.

Despite missing their top scorer Ousmane Dembélé, sidelined through injury after scoring 33 goals in 49 appearances this season, PSG showed no signs of weakness. Luis Enrique’s side simply adjusted their gears and leaned on their deep bench, with the likes of Desire Doue and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia stepping up in a fluid and fearless attack.

The tone was set early when Fabian Ruiz opened the scoring in the 19th minute, finishing a sweeping PSG move that left the Spanish defence flat-footed. Atlético’s problems were compounded just before the break as Vitinha doubled the lead with a composed strike in first-half stoppage time (45+1), following a precise team buildup.

Atletico’s hopes of mounting a comeback were dashed midway through the second half when a red card reduced them to ten men. PSG seized full control from there, with 17-year-old Senny Mayulu putting the result beyond doubt in the 87th minute, scoring his first senior goal in dazzling fashion.

As the match drifted into injury time, Lee Kangin added further gloss to the scoreline, converting a stoppage-time penalty (90+7) to cap a performance that left little doubt about PSG’s intent in this tournament.

Having already lifted the Ligue 1 title, Coupe de France, and UEFA Champions League this season, PSG are now two matches away from making history with a fourth major trophy. If this display is anything to go by, few would bet against them going all the way.

Understanding Farm Records: Types and Their Importance

By Dr Trywell Muzerengi

Farming goes beyond planting crops and raising animals — it is a business that needs to be managed effectively. One of the key tools for good farm management is record keeping. Accurate and up-to-date records help farmers track activities, evaluate performance, and make informed decisions.

Below are the main types of farm records and why they matter:

  1. Production Records

These track what the farm produces, whether from crops or livestock.

Examples:

Planting dates

Crop types or seed varieties used

Harvest quantities

Number of animals born or sold

Quantity of milk, eggs, or meat produced

Why They Matter:
Production records help farmers identify which crops or animals perform best. This information supports better planning, improved yields, and increased profits in future seasons.

  1. Input Records

Input records show what has been used to support production on the farm.

Examples:

Fertilizers or compost applied

Pesticides or organic sprays used

Animal feed purchases

Labor used for various tasks

Why They Matter:
These records help manage costs and ensure resources are used efficiently. Farmers can compare inputs with outputs to assess whether farming methods are cost-effective.

  1. Financial Records

These detail the farm’s income and expenses, offering a full picture of its financial health.

Examples:

Sales of farm produce

Expenses on seeds, chemicals, or tools

Loan and repayment details

Profit and loss statements

Why They Matter:
Financial records allow farmers to monitor cash flow, assess profitability, and make smart decisions about budgeting and investment.

  1. Inventory Records

Inventory records list all the physical assets owned or used by the farm.

Examples:

Tools and machinery

Livestock and poultry numbers

Stored feed, seeds, and fertilizers

Buildings and storage facilities

Why They Matter:
These records help keep track of valuable assets, avoid unnecessary purchases, and support farm planning and insurance claims.

Conclusion

Record keeping is essential for every farmer who wants to grow a successful and sustainable farming business. Whether small or large-scale, a well-documented farm gives the farmer control, clarity, and the ability to plan for a better future.

ED Listens, Zanu PF Activist Lists Mnangagwa “Achievements”, Pushes for 2030 Presidency

By Tinashe Sambiri

Zanu PF activist Levison Chambati, who leads the Varakashi4ED movement in Mashonaland West, has sparked fresh debate after claiming President Emmerson Mnangagwa has “delivered everything the people asked for” — and should now extend his rule beyond 2028.

In a statement at the weekend,Chambati heaped praise on what he described as “undeniable milestones” achieved under the Second Republic, framing the President as a responsive and action-driven leader.

“President @edmnangagwa is the true embodiment of a listening leader,” Chambati said. “Whatever the people ask for — he delivers.”

He pointed to a list of so-called achievements under Mnangagwa’s leadership, including infrastructure development, food security, and emergency health services.

“You asked for spaghetti roads — he delivered the iconic Trabablas Interchange,” Chambati said.
“You wanted the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Road fixed — he responded with a sophisticated rehabilitation project.
“We faced a fuel crisis — today, there are service stations in every corner.
“People were hungry — now Pfumvudza has made Zimbabwe food secure.
“You needed air ambulances — he went to Russia and brought them back.”

However, it was Chambati’s closing remarks that raised eyebrows.

The public endorsement of a third term — a constitutional impossibility under current laws — echoes growing murmurs within Zanu PF structures where some party loyalists have floated the idea of amending term limits.

Critics argue such talk is dangerous and undermines constitutional democracy.

“This is how dictatorship is normalised — with loyalists romanticising authoritarianism in the name of development,” one political analyst said.

While the official party position remains that Mnangagwa will step down at the end of his second term, the Varakashi4ED call for “Vision 2030 with ED” appears to be laying groundwork for a broader narrative shift.

Video Of Military Talks Between Tagwirei And General Sanyatwe?

By Farai D Hove |

”We shall rule you till the donkeys have horns,” was the loudest statement during a public meeting between the Zimbabwe Military General Anselem Sanyatwe last week.

Sanyatwe who was recently shafted from the army back to government, was speaking during a meeting that the Geza-condemned- tenderpreneur Kudakwashe Tagwirei donated groceries to households in his (Sanyatwe) wife’s constituency.

The statement was made as part of a speech celebrating the donations to Sanyatwe constituents. The handouts come at a time Tagwirei has been singled out by the war veteran Blessed Geza and accused of being the cancer causing institutional corruption in government. Geza and many members of the military accuse Tagwirei of ill treating servicemen by raiding companies which provide food and other needs to the Defence Forces.

While Sanyatwe’s statement could sound arrogant, it might be a veiled message to Tagwirei.

”Brains hapana that’s why he was demoted by mnangagwa from being an army commander to being a useless Minister,” wrote Simbarashe Mandiona.

But “Arikumira semusoja Sanyatwe,” – he is simply standing up to Tagwirei as a soldier, tweeted @ChazingwaThree.

Watch: Armed Robbers Pounce On Prominent Indian Business Mogul In Harare

By A Correspondent

A dramatic armed robbery unfolded in the heart of Harare, sending shockwaves through the local business community. A prominent Indian businessman fell victim to the heist, which saw an estimated US$500,000 in cash and high-end electronic items stolen in broad daylight.

The incident occurred at Steve’s Mall on Cameroon Street, a normally bustling hub of commercial activity. Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos and confusion as gun-wielding robbers swiftly executed their operation before vanishing without a trace.

According to initial reports, the businessman was ambushed unexpectedly by the armed group, who appeared to have planned the attack meticulously. The robbers quickly made away with the large sum of money and valuable electronic devices, leaving behind a shaken crowd of onlookers and distraught shop owners.

Local businesses were forced to temporarily shut down as police cordoned off the area to begin investigations. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and collecting statements in an effort to track down the suspects.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the robbery and urged members of the public with any relevant information to come forward. “This is a serious incident, and we are treating it as a top priority,” a police spokesperson said.

No arrests had been made at the time of writing, and investigations are ongoing.

The brazen nature of the robbery has raised concerns about rising insecurity in commercial zones, with calls growing louder for increased police patrols and enhanced surveillance in key business districts.

Woman Burns Cash in Attempt to Erase Evidence of $30K Theft

By Tinashe Sambiri

A Kadoma woman has been convicted and sentenced after stealing nearly US$30,000 from her employer, Delta Beverages, and attempting to destroy the evidence by setting some of the stolen money on fire.

Evelyn Mkwananzi (38), employed as a cashier at the beverage company, was handed a 38-month prison sentence by the Kadoma Magistrates’ Court after she absconded with US$29,896 in sales revenue on May 4, 2023, instead of depositing the funds as required.

In a desperate bid to cover her tracks, Mkwananzi tried to burn a portion of the cash before fleeing. Her attempt was captured on CCTV, showing her setting the blaze and escaping the scene.

Thanks to the swift response of the company’s security team, US$12,500 of the stolen money was recovered, though US$470 and ZWL$900 were partially destroyed in the fire.

Magistrates sentenced Mkwananzi to 38 months in prison, structured with suspensions: 10 months were suspended for five years, 12 months upon full restitution of the stolen amount, and the remaining 16 months replaced by 560 hours of community service at Rutendo Primary School in Kwekwe.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) condemned the act, emphasizing the importance of professional integrity. “This case serves as a reminder that integrity is paramount. Attempts to hide wrongdoing only worsen the consequences. The justice system remains firm on accountability,” the NPA said in a statement.

Rumbidzai Rusere Says Viral Audio of Mnangagwa WhatsApp Whisper Was AI Generated

Today is the 3rd day since these damning viral allegations were made, that have resulted in a reconciliation meeting between the CIO DG and Rumbidzai Kanhukamwe Rusere today.

Why are you @nickmangwana @Jamwanda2 silent?

If this audio was AI generated, as said by Rumbidzai Kanhukamwe Rusere, what was the reconciliation with the DG about, an AI clip or the truth leaked by a CIO DG sympathiser? | This matter is a follow up to the handing in of a retirement request to the Zimbabwe Defence Forces on 21 May 2025, which triggered the abduction of one of the petitioners Gifford Gomwe’s mother.

Within days, the Commander of the Presidential Guard Fidelis Mhonda’s office was invaded and wiped clean of every document found in there. Mhonda had received a warning from the war veteran Blessed Geza who had announced earlier (9 May) that he feel pity for Mhonda because the day mentions his name, he’s going to be hit by the soldiers. And that is exactly what transpired less than 14 days later. 3 weeks after the 21 May military petition, an audio has gone viral containing details linked to the abduction plus the alleged hunt down for the war veteran Blessed Geza.

The entire development might be a confirmation of state capture and presidential incapacity that the 21 May petitioners raise accusations against President Emmerson Mnangagwa over. They have requested the military to invoke Section 212 of the Zimbabwe Constitution which mandates the defence forces powers of intervention.

The other petitioners of the 21 May military stamped document are: Rose Chirenje, Tawanda Jena, and Sarudzai Rushwaya. – READ THE FULL STORY HERE

Masvingo Education Boss In Hot Soup Over Fake Allowance Claims…

By A Correspondent

Masvingo Provincial Education Director (PED) Shylatte Mhike, who was recently arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) on corruption-related charges, has had her case postponed to July 1, 2025.

Mhike appeared before Magistrate Elizabeth Hanzi at the Masvingo Magistrates Court last week.

The matter was deferred to allow further investigations, which are still ongoing.

Mhike is being jointly charged with the Provincial Finance Director, Liniah Chinoda. The pair faces allegations of criminal abuse of office in their capacities as public officials.

According to ZACC, the charges arise from accusations that the two submitted fraudulent claims for travel and subsistence allowances.

Both Mhike and Chinoda are being represented by legal practitioner Yolander Chandata of H. Tafa and Associates.

Zanu PF’s Rigging Tactics Exposed In Gutu…

By A Correspondent

Allegations of voter intimidation and electoral malpractice have once again surfaced in Zimbabwe, this time in Gutu East, where a Zanu PF district chairperson was reportedly caught orchestrating illegal campaign activities near a polling station during the June 14 by-election.

According to an independent election watchdog that was monitoring the Gutu East by-election, the Zanu PF official was seen instructing and threatening voters gathered at a dip tank just outside Dambara Primary School Polling Station in Nyazvidzi.

The incident occurred within the no-campaigning zone legally enforced on election day.

“We witnessed the Zanu PF district chairperson gathering villagers and coaching them on how to vote,” the monitoring team said in a report.

“When we attempted to intervene, he became aggressive and threatened to assault us.”

The situation escalated when the official allegedly contacted state security personnel.

“He made a phone call and shortly after, a vehicle with no number plates—believed to belong to the CIO—arrived at the scene. They assessed the situation and left without taking action,” the monitors added.

The organization confirmed that a formal complaint was submitted to both the police and the presiding officer at the polling station. “We filed a report with the Polling Officer and the police regarding intimidation and campaigning within the restricted radius. No arrests were made.”

Despite the reported irregularities, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission proceeded with the count. Zanu PF’s candidate, Masvingise, was later declared the winner of the contested seat.

Critics argue that such incidents highlight the persistent culture of fear and manipulation that undermines the credibility of elections in Zimbabwe. “This is exactly the kind of coercion that keeps free and fair elections out of reach,” said a member of the election watchdog, who requested anonymity for safety reasons.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has not issued a public statement regarding the reported incident.

Susan Mutami Slams Police Boss Over Mliswa’s Arrest

By A Correspondent| Prominent socialite and Susan Mutami has taken to social media to condemn the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) for the recent arrest of former Norton legislator and father of her child, Temba Mliswa. In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Mutami accused the police of weaponizing their authority to silence Mliswa after he allegedly exposed corruption within the police force.

Mutami specifically called out Officer-in-Charge Nyazema of the Support Unit, questioning the motives behind the arrest and urging Police Commissioner-General Steven Mutamba to intervene.

“Steven Mutamba, what is happening @PoliceZimbabwe? Why did OIC Nyazema in charge of the Support Unit arrest BaTino [Mliswa] for exposing police corruption?” she posted. “Temba Mliswa fought so hard to have you instated as the police commissioner not coz you are his relative but because of your stance on fairness, corruption and professionalism.”

She urged the ZRP to involve its internal investigations department based at Police General Headquarters (PGHQ), insisting that such allegations of corruption deserved a professional and impartial probe. She also recommended that the matter be handed over to a specialized police intelligence unit she claims to have previously worked with, praising their efficiency and integrity.

“Since this matter is now an international public matter, we would also like to be kept in the loop regarding the internal police investigation,” Mutami added.

Mliswa was Sunday arrested by a team of armed Chinhoyi police officers from the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Law and Order section, after confronting local Police boss.

The outspoken politician announced his arrest on Sunday afternoon via his X (formerly Twitter) account, claiming the operation was linked to his recent allegations of corruption involving high-ranking officials in Mashonaland West.

Nyamhondera Honoured As A Living Legend Of Zimbabwean Music

By Showbiz Reporter-Legendary music producer Bothwell Nyamhondera was honoured over the weekend at a star-studded appreciation gala held at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare — a celebration hailed by leading artists as long overdue recognition for a man who helped shape Zimbabwean music.

The emotional tribute was led by sungura king Alick Macheso, who described Nyamhondera as “a national treasure who must be honoured in his lifetime.” Fighting back tears, Macheso recounted how the veteran producer supported his career from humble beginnings.

Macheso called for the gala to become an annual event, lamenting how Zimbabwe often waits until its legends are gone before giving them their flowers.

Somandla “Mafia” Ndebele, another long-time collaborator, echoed the sentiment. He credited Nyamhondera for shaping his early music career in the late 1980s and said he still seeks his guidance today.

“The history of Zimbabwean music is incomplete without mentioning Nyamhondera. He shaped many of us and helped build our sound,” Ndebele said.

Gospel icon Pastor Charles Charamba also paid tribute to the producer, whom he credited with helping him craft some of his biggest gospel hits.

“I owe him a lot,” Charamba said. “He showed me genuine love and gave me the confidence to grow in my career.”

The gala turned into a heartfelt celebration, featuring spirited performances by Macheso, Ndebele, and the Charambas — Pastor Charles and his wife Amai Olivia — who moved the crowd with a powerful joint performance. Despite their busy schedules, all three acts made time to perform, underlining the deep respect they have for Nyamhondera.

Event organiser Pastor Hermain Chimusoro said the turnout and performances proved the event’s significance and confirmed plans to make it an annual tribute to living legends.

“I was humbled by these artistes who showed up despite the venue change from HICC to 7 Arts. The concept lived up to expectations, and the response shows how much Nyamhondera is loved. We want to do this every year.”

The evening’s heartfelt tributes and powerful performances served as a resounding reminder of Nyamhondera’s indelible legacy — one written not just in records and radio hits, but in the hearts of the artists he nurtured and the music-loving public who continue to enjoy his work.

As calls grow for sustained recognition of such trailblazers, the honouring of Nyamhondera marks a significant step in preserving Zimbabwe’s rich musical heritage — while those who shaped it are still here to hear the applause.

Can Mnangagwa Implement Digital Reforms While Citizens Can’t Access Birth Records?

By A Correspondent

Critics blast government’s “archives showcase” as disconnected from Zimbabwe’s everyday realities

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is set to officially open the 2025 Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Council on Archives (ESARBICA) Conference in Victoria Falls this Wednesday — a high-level event that critics say reflects government misaligned priorities at a time of deepening domestic crises.

The 28th edition of the regional gathering, which began on Sunday and runs through next week, brings together archival professionals from across Eastern and Southern Africa. While officials tout the event as a platform to “strengthen international relations” and promote Zimbabwe as a “leading tourism destination,” observers argue that it amounts to little more than a ceremonial distraction from pressing socio-economic challenges.

“The irony is hard to miss,” said a Harare-based historian. “We’re hosting a lavish archives conference while our own institutions are crumbling under years of underfunding, neglect, and politicisation. This is not a triumph — it’s a façade.”

Although the conference agenda includes discussions on digitisation, sustainability, and artificial intelligence in archives management, critics point out the stark disconnect between the event’s ambitious themes and the state of public information systems in Zimbabwe, many of which remain paper-based, under-resourced, and inaccessible to the public.

“There’s a lot of talk about modernising archives, but the average Zimbabwean can’t even access basic public records,” said an NGO official who monitors information transparency. “This is yet another elite event staged for optics while the public service continues to deteriorate.”

President Mnangagwa is expected to deliver a keynote speech focused on digital transformation and governance — themes that stand in contrast to his administration’s poor record on transparency, freedom of information, and digital rights. Under his rule, journalists and researchers continue to face barriers in accessing official documents, while whistleblowers are routinely harassed.

“Talking about AI and digitisation is laughable when journalists still have to fight for birth records or court files,” said a media rights advocate. “It’s not about archives — it’s about control.”

Analysts also question the real economic impact of the conference, which government sources claim could boost tourism and attract investment. However, such claims remain unverified, and critics argue that the cost of hosting high-profile delegates — likely funded through strained public resources — offers little benefit to ordinary citizens.

“Victoria Falls will shine for a week, but what happens after the cameras leave?” asked one economist. “This is state-sponsored theatre, not sustainable development.”

While the conference may offer professional value to archivists, for many Zimbabweans, it’s yet another example of a government more invested in international image-making than real reforms. As the ruling elite gathers in luxury, ordinary citizens continue to face power cuts, unpaid wages, and eroded public services — archived, perhaps, for future study in how not to govern.

JUST IN: Mzembi To Spend Another Night In Remand

By A Correspondent| Former Tourism and Hospitality Minister Walter Mzembi has been remanded in custody until Tuesday, pending a court ruling on written submissions he filed explaining his failure to attend previous court hearings.

Mzembi, who returned to Zimbabwe on Saturday after spending several years in self-imposed exile, was immediately arrested by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) upon arrival. He is facing three counts of defaulting court appearances in connection with pending corruption-related charges stemming from his time in government.

Harare Magistrate Donald Ndirowei confirmed that the court will deliver a ruling on Mzembi’s submissions tomorrow, which are expected to provide justification for his prolonged absence from Zimbabwe and continued evasion of court processes.

The charges against Mzembi relate to allegations that he misappropriated public funds during his tenure as Tourism Minister, particularly in connection with the 2013 United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) General Assembly co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Mzembi fled the country in 2018, citing political persecution in the aftermath of the November 2017 military coup that ousted the late former President Robert Mugabe. He is believed to have been residing in South Africa, where he continued to make occasional political commentary while remaining out of reach of Zimbabwean authorities.

His surprise return has reignited debate around the treatment of former officials who fled Zimbabwe post-coup, with some suggesting Mzembi could be seeking a political comeback or attempting to negotiate immunity.

The court is expected to decide whether Mzembi’s reasons for defaulting justify his continued freedom or warrant his continued detention.

Talent Chiwenga Warns Zanu PF Terror Groups

By A Correspondent| Controversial and outspoken government critic, Talent Chiwenga, has issued a scathing public statement condemning what he calls “terror squads” aligned to the ruling ZANU PF party.

In a letter bearing the official letterhead of Jesus Revelation Ministries, Chiwenga accused state agents including Ferret team, SAS, and the newly controversial FAZ unit of committing crimes against humanity.

Chiwenga warned that the bloodshed of innocent civilians protesting government policies would not go unpunished, declaring that “he who lives by the sword shall die by the sword.”

“Murdering innocent citizens for expressing their disapproval of your policies is not just a heinous crime against humanity, but it is an act of war on the citizens,” Chiwenga wrote. “You shall pay, sooner rather than later, God is not asleep, and neither are his people.”

The bold pronouncement comes amid growing reports of intimidation, abductions, and torture allegedly perpetrated by state security and affiliated groups against opposition supporters and civil society activists.

Known for his fearless and often controversial sermons, Chiwenga has survived multiple assassination attempts and car accidents, which he claims were orchestrated to silence his dissent.

Zanu PF Celebrates Controversial Chipinge RDC Ward 5 Win Amid Surge in Assisted Voting

By A Correspondent| Zanu PF is celebrating a disputed victory in the Chipinge Rural District Council (RDC) Ward 5 by-election, where an unusually high number of voters — over 1,200 out of 2,236 — were assisted to cast their ballots, raising fresh concerns about electoral integrity.

Zimbabwe, often lauded as one of Africa’s most literate nations, has once again found itself under scrutiny as political observers question how so many citizens required assistance to vote — a process typically reserved for the illiterate, disabled, or elderly.

Critics argue that Zanu PF has turned assisted voting into a political tool, allegedly coercing voters into declaring false illiteracy to enable party agents to influence their choices behind the curtain. The ruling party has been accused of exploiting this tactic in previous elections, with little accountability from the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC).

According to a report circulating from election observers, out of the 2,236 votes cast in Ward 5, an alarming 1,279 were assisted. The breakdown of assisted voters per polling station is as follows:

  • Kondo Primary School – 193
  • Musapingura – 196
  • Chipangayi High School – 180
  • Nemadzadza Village – 270
  • Tongogara – 100
  • Stage 3B – 180
  • Sabi Valley Primary School – 190

Opposition parties and civil society organisations have condemned the practice, describing it as a form of “institutionalised rigging” that mocks Zimbabwe’s democratic processes.

“This is not a genuine victory,” said one opposition activist who requested anonymity. “When you win through manipulation, it is a celebration of deceit, not democracy.”

Despite these concerns, Zanu PF has been quick to trumpet the win, with senior party officials in Chipinge holding rallies and processions in what they described as a “landslide victory.”

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has not yet commented on the unusually high number of assisted voters in this by-election.

Mliswa Exposes Corruption, Arrested

By Crime and Courts Reporter-Former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa was Sunday arrested by a team of armed Chinhoyi police officers from the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Law and Order section, after confronting local Police boss.

The outspoken politician announced his arrest on Sunday afternoon via his X (formerly Twitter) account, claiming the operation was linked to his recent allegations of corruption involving high-ranking officials in Mashonaland West.

Breaking News! Today, I was arrested by a formidable contingent of 12 armed Law and Order Officers from the ZRP in Chinhoyi, all orchestrated by the Officer Commanding Mash West, Commissioner Tawonei Nyazema, who is clearly scurrying around to clean his criminal trail,” Mliswa posted.

Mliswa alleges his arrest stems from a series of tweets in which he accused both Commissioner Nyazema and the Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs, Marian Chombo, of being part of a “clandestine criminal cartel” involving illegal Chinese mining operations in the Sanyati area.

Police Spokesperson Paul Nyathi could not be reached for comment.

Trump Slaps Mnangagwa With Fresh Sanctions

Washington D.C. – The administration of former US President Donald Trump has placed Zimbabwe under a renewed travel restriction order, citing concerns over governance and human rights abuses.

Zimbabwe is among 36 countries flagged in a new State Department memo for failing to meet strict U.S. immigration, security, and diplomatic benchmarks, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government under specific scrutiny.

This development marks yet another escalation in the strained relations between Harare and Washington that began in 2002, when the United States first imposed targeted sanctions on Zimbabwean officials under the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act (ZDERA)

ZDERA has since been lifted.

Those initial sanctions—prompted by allegations of election rigging, media repression, and land seizures—have evolved over the years into a complex regime of restrictions, targeting individuals and entities associated with rights violations and corruption.

In the latest iteration of the U.S. crackdown, Zimbabwe joins 25 African nations and other countries in the Caribbean, Central Asia, and the Pacific Islands facing possible visa bans or entry suspensions.

The list, which includes long-time U.S. allies like Egypt and Ghana, was part of a memo signed by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. According to The Washington Post, the memo outlines a 60-day compliance window during which countries must provide an actionable plan to address U.S. concerns.

Key concerns listed in the memo include Zimbabwe’s failure to issue reliable identity documents, widespread corruption, and a lack of cooperation on deportation cases.

The Trump administration also cited “government fraud” and “unreliable vetting and screening mechanisms” as justification for considering expanded sanctions.

This is not the first time Zimbabwe has been hit with travel bans.

During Trump’s first term in office, several African and Muslim-majority countries were affected by controversial travel restrictions, which critics labeled xenophobic.

Although President Joe Biden rescinded those measures in 2021, Trump—now seeking another term—has vowed to reinstate and expand the bans “bigger than before.”

Under the new order issued June 4, full travel restrictions were already applied to 13 countries including Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, and Yemen.

Zimbabwe’s addition to the expanded list signals renewed pressure on Mnangagwa’s regime, especially after recent reports by international watchdogs pointing to continued repression, electoral fraud, and abuse of opposition members in the post-2023 election period.

The United States has long maintained that its sanctions on Zimbabwe are not aimed at the general population but are targeted at those undermining democratic institutions.

However, Mnangagwa and his ZANU-PF administration continue to blame sanctions for the country’s prolonged economic crisis, claiming they are unjust and politically motivated.

The Trump memo states that if countries on the list agree to accept deported nationals from the U.S. or sign “safe third country” agreements, they may be spared full implementation of the travel restrictions. It remains unclear whether Harare will comply.

If implemented, the restrictions could further isolate Zimbabwe on the global stage and deepen the rift between Harare and Washington—a relationship already burdened by two decades of mutual distrust and accusations.

Econet Network Crashes

By Business Reporter-Econet Wireless has once again disappointed its network users and issued another apology as its mobile network continues crumbling, leaving millions of Zimbabweans frustrated and disconnected.

The country’s largest mobile operator is struggling to maintain reliable services, with outages, dropped calls, and painfully slow internet speeds now a daily nightmare for users.

This latest collapse comes amid growing pressure from Elon Musk’s Starlink, whose underground rollout is fast gaining traction in Zimbabwe’s urban and rural areas.

“Dear Customer, this notice confirms the restoration of our data connectivity services… We apologise for any inconvenience or service disruption caused by recent challenges,” Econet said in a statement Sunday.

The company advised users still experiencing problems to restart their devices and contact customer support.

But for many, the apology is too little, too late.

Last week, Econet issued a similar message. For months, the telecoms giant has failed to keep up with soaring demand and rising competition, especially in high-density urban zones where poor service has sparked a storm of complaints on social media.

Tech experts say Econet’s persistent failures could mark the start of a major market shift. “Starlink’s model bypasses traditional telecom infrastructure entirely. It’s fast, reliable, and attractive—especially in areas where Econet is weakest,” said a Harare-based telecom analyst.

Starlink, owned by SpaceX, offers high-speed broadband via low-earth orbit satellites and has already secured licenses in multiple Southern African countries.

Though unofficial, its Zimbabwe rollout has caught fire—particularly among urban elites, rural businesses, and tech-savvy users seeking a stable internet lifeline.

Econet’s customers, meanwhile, are furious about rising data prices despite poor service. “You buy expensive bundles, but you can’t even send a WhatsApp message,” complained a user in Bulawayo.

While the company blames Zimbabwe’s broader economic crisis for its challenges—citing foreign currency shortages and high import costs—critics argue poor management and lack of investment are just as much to blame.

Econet insists its engineers are working “to restore normal service.” But with trust rapidly eroding and digital competition heating up, the once-dominant operator now faces its most dangerous threat yet: irrelevance.

DeMbare Sink Into Abyss

By Sports Correspondent | 15 June 2025

Dynamos Football Club’s struggles continued over the weekend as the Harare giants failed to secure a much-needed victory, drawing 1-1 with Bikita Minerals in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League matchday 15 fixture on Saturday.

The result leaves DeMbare entrenched in the relegation zone, sitting 16th on the log with 11 points, and still searching for a win after 11 consecutive matches without a victory.

Dynamos took the lead early in the match through Shadreck Nyahwa, who struck in the 20th minute, offering a glimmer of hope for the troubled side. However, Bikita Minerals responded swiftly, with Tinashe Ruzive levelling the score just 10 minutes later.

The draw has done little to ease the mounting pressure on the Dynamos technical bench, as fans grow increasingly concerned about the team’s alarming dip in form.

Meanwhile, at Rufaro Stadium, CAPS United continued their mini-revival with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Chicken Inn. Kundai Benyu netted the winner in the 65th minute, sealing the Green Machine’s second consecutive victory.

The win lifts CAPS United to 13th place on the table with 16 points, giving them a five-point cushion above the relegation zone as they aim to stabilize their campaign.

As the league nears the halfway mark, Dynamos’ poor form has become one of the season’s most worrying stories, with calls growing louder for urgent intervention to rescue the club from an unthinkable drop.

Time to End HPV-Related Cancers for All Genders: Science, Action, and Urgency Needed

Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is a common sexually transmitted infection. Since an effective HPV vaccine exists and HPV screening and treatment of pre-cancer lesions can save lives, no one should be suffering from any of the HPV related cancer or had to die of it.   According to the World Health Organization (WHO), HPV do not cause health concerns in most infected people (of all genders), but persistent HPV infection with some high-risk genotypes is common and can cause genital warts or cancer. For example, almost all cervical cancer, which is the 4th top cancers among women worldwide, is caused by HPV. HPV also causes cancers of vulva, vagina, mouth/throat (oropharyngeal), penis and anus.   Despite cervical cancer being preventable and curable (if detected early and managed effectively), more than 660,000 women developed cervical cancer in 2022. Over 350,000 women died of cervical cancer in 2022.   In 2019, HPV caused over 70,000 cancer cases in men too.   HPV screening must be done with DNA test, not pap smear or VIA   “We have a large burden of cervical cancer in India – one woman dies every 8 minutes due to this preventable cancer. All women above the age of 30 years, must undergo cervical cancer screening with an HPV DNA molecular test (and not by pap smear or visual inspection with acetic acid – VIA),” said Dr Smita Joshi, a noted scientist who has made a significant contribution to advancing HPV vaccine and screening research and science-backed interventions in the past two decades.   National Family Health Survey (NFHS) of India 2019-2021 shows that among women age 15-49, only 1.2% ever got a screening for cervical cancer in India. WHO Cervical Cancer Elimination Initiative (adopted in 2021) sets the goal of at least 70% of the eligible women to get screened. “There is a large gap in HPV screening of eligible women in India,” points out Dr Joshi. Dr Joshi leads the Department of Preventive Oncology, Prayas (a non-profit). Dr Joshi has been a principal investigator for HPV vaccine and cervical cancer related research studies of WHO’s IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) since 2009. She also serves as Programme Director at Jahangir Clinical Development Centre (JCDC) in Pune, India.   Connect the dots: HPV, HIV and all genders   Women living with HIV are at 6 times higher risk of HPV-related cervical cancer compared to those without HIV. HPV also infects men. For example, studies show that rates of HPV have shown to be alarmingly high among men who have sex with men.   Mumbai-based microbiologist and researcher Dr Prapti Gilada-Toshinwal presented an important study at 10th Asia Pacific AIDS and Co-Infections Conference (APACC 2025) in Japan. This study was done to determine the prevalence of HPV anal infection among 105 men who have sex with men who were seeking care at Unison Medicare and Research Centre (a comprehensive infectious diseases centre) between August 2022 and December 2024. It is important to note that Unison Medicare and Research Centre has been serving around 10,000 people living with HIV since last 35 years.   Around 80% study participants came from Mumbai and rest of them were from other cities of India except 3 who came from other countries.   “70% of study participants were living with HIV,” said Dr Prapti Gilada. “Overall, anal HPV infection rate was 62%.” She serves as CEO and consultant microbiologist at UniLabs Diagnostics. “Some of them also had other sexually transmitted infections such as syphilis, chlamydia, or gonorrhoea.”   “In the study we offered DNA test for HPV to all eligible study participants (105 men who have sex with men) who were receiving medical care at our centre. Most common HPV high risk genotype was 16. Other common high-risk HPV genotypes found among study participants were 18 and 45,” said Dr Prapti Gilada.   “HPV positivity rates were higher in those study participants who were also living with HIV (68.5%) compared to those without HIV (48%),” said Dr Prapti Gilada, who is also an independent Director of Thyrocare. Global data shows that among men who have sex with men, HPV is higher among those who are living with HIV than those without it.   She was speaking with CNS before 2nd Asia Pacific Conference on Point-of-Care Diagnostics for Infectious Diseases (POC 2025) and 13th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2025) open.   Dr Prapti Gilada calls for raising awareness, health and treatment literacy among the masses so that eligible boys and men and girls and women can access HPV vaccination, HPV screening and management of pre-cancerous lesions and other health issues. She also hopes governments will make HPV vaccination available to all those eligible of all genders, as well as screening and appropriate management.   Dr Prapti Gilada cites a study published in The Lancet in 2023 which showed that almost 1 in 3 men over the age of 15 were infected with at least one genital HPV genotype, and 1 in 5 men were infected with one or more of high risk (or oncogenic) HPV genotypes.   It is high time all eligible boys and men too are included in HPV responses globally   Agrees Vijay Nair who is the Chairperson of Udaan Trust and a prominent community rights activist from India: “With no HPV vaccination and screening facilities for males, there are people who have even probably died with undiagnosed HPV-related anal cancers or other health issues. Some may be getting services for piles or anal fissures or fistula as there is hardly any HPV screening facilities for anal HPV. We need to screen high-risk men for HPV and HPV related health conditions including pre-cancerous lesions or anal cancers. Also, we need to include males too for vaccination against HPV.”   Vijay was speaking at the India’s National Dialogue and Stakeholder Consultation held last month in preventing cancers and addressing ageing among people living with HIV. It was organised by National Coalition of People Living with HIV in India (NCPI Plus).   Colposcopy and anoscopy: Do we have enough facilities?   Those with persistent HPV infection may need a specialised follow up medical examination with colposcopy (medical experts examine with an equipment for any HPV-related changes or abnormalities in vulva, vagina or cervix of women) or anoscopy (medical experts examine with an equipment for any HPV-related changes or abnormalities in anus or rectum). If any changes or abnormalities, further appropriate medical treatment is required.   “We need more medical centres for anoscopy,” said Dr Prapti Gilada whose study participants may require further follow up. Her centre is continuing to follow up with all the study participants, one of whom has become HPV negative during the study.   Dr Smita Joshi is a widely recognised colposcopy trainer too. “We have screened over 40,000 women for HPV and cervical cancer and managed them appropriately as per the WHO latest guidelines.” Her centre at Prayas is a recognised colposcopy centre too which has trained several medical professionals including gynaecologists from within India and other countries too.   She appeals for financial resources to scale up trainings of medical professionals in India and other countries which would go a long way in strengthening capacities and competencies towards addressing HPV and related cancers.   Addressing HPV lacks ambition   Governments have promised to eliminate cervical cancer by end of this century. In order to be on track towards cervical cancer elimination, all countries must reach and maintain an incidence rate of below 4 per 100,000 women. Achieving that goal rests on 3 key pillars and their corresponding targets to be achieved by 2030 so that countries are on track towards eliminating cervical cancer by end of the century.

  • vaccination: 90% of all eligible young people must be fully vaccinated with the HPV vaccine by the age of 15
  • screening: 70% of women should be screened using a high-performance test by the age of 35, and again by the age of 45
  • treatment: 90% of women with pre-cancer treated and 90% of women with invasive cancer managed.   Cervical cancer is preventable as vaccines exist since almost two decades now. HPV screening and DNA tests exist. Medical management of pre-cancerous lesions can save lives and avert cancers. Is not a goal to eliminate cervical cancer by turn of this century, lacking ambition?   India’s first indigenously validated Truenat HPV-HR Plus test in April 2025   Indian government announced in April 2025, India’s first indigenously developed and point-of-care HPV DNA molecular test is Truenat HPV-HR Plus test that screens people for 8 high-risk genotypes (16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 45, 52 and 58). These 8 high-risk HPV genotypes cause over 96% of cervical cancers globally. Truenat HPV-HR Plus is developed by Indian company (Molbio Diagnostics). Its independent multi-centric validation was done by Government of India’s Department of Biotechnology, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) and Grand Challenges India.   This independent validation of Truenat HPV-HR Plus was conducted under the study “Validating Indigenous Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) Tests for Cervical Cancer Screening in India.” The study involved leading Indian government’s research institutes, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, ICMR National Institute for Cancer Prevention and Research (NICPR) Noida, and ICMR National Institute for Research in Reproductive and Child Health (NIRRCH) Mumbai, in collaboration with WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).   However, Truenat HPV-HR DNA molecular test has been around for over 2 years now to screen people for 4 high-risk genotypes.   Follow the science: Vaccinate and screen all eligible people for HPV and related cancers   Dr Smita Joshi led several researchers in her distinguished career over two decades. She was part of a multi-centric study of WHO’s IARC on HPV vaccine which was initiated in 2009 onwards. This study was to evaluate efficacy of HPV vaccine (2 doses vs 3 doses at 0, 2 and 6 months).   However, due to government’s order to stop HPV vaccination in studies (owing to adverse outcomes in a PATH study), Dr Joshi’s study also had to stop vaccination abruptly in April 2009.   “Because of that suspension of HPV vaccinatio, instead of two versus three doses, this study resulted in a cohort of girls that had received only a single dose, two doses (at 0 and 2 months), two doses (at 0 and 6 months) and three doses (at 0, 2 and 6 months). So, the long-term follow-up of these vaccinated girls is still being carried out since then,” said Dr Joshi. “We have now completed 15 years of the study and of immunogenicity data.”   Dr Joshi’s study majorly impacted and contributed to informing vaccine dosage in many countries as well as to WHO’s recommendation of single dose HP vaccination in the young girls.   She was also part of the HPV vaccine study (for India’s indigenously developed HPV vaccine Ceravac). She wonders when HPV vaccine would become a part of Indian government’s public vaccination programme. Some Indian states (like Sikkim, Delhi, Punjab) had introduced HPV vaccination using a foreign-made vaccine) but latest information on status of these programmes is not with us.   Dr Prapti Gilada and Udaan’s Vijay Nair too call for including HPV vaccination for those eligible from all genders in the government’s programme at the earliest – as well as HPV screening and management of all related health conditions especially pre-cancerous lesions and cancers.   Dr Smita Joshi adds that when government of India includes indigenously developed HPV vaccine in its programme, then “one good thing about Ceravac of Serum Institute of India is that it is also approved for boys.   Appeal to world leaders who will meet at UNHLM on NCDs   Next High Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases (UNHLM on NCDs) will happen in September 2025 at the United Nations General Assembly. Although HPV is an infection, yet it causes one of the top cancers worldwide. We appeal to world leaders to commit to scale up HPV vaccination for all those eligible (regardless of genders), and screen all eligible people (regardless of gender) for HPV and related pre-cancerous and cancerous conditions. Developing vaccine or point-of-care diagnostics is not enough but deploying them at point-of-need in the Global South is critical pathway towards increasing access to lifesaving services and improving HPV-related responses on the ground.   Shobha Shukla – CNS (Citizen News Service) (Shobha Shukla is the award-winning founding Managing Editor and Executive Director of CNS (Citizen News Service) and is a feminist, health and development justice advocate. ZiG In Theory, Not In Hand: Cash Elusive Despite RBZ Claims

By A Correspondent | 15 June 2025

As public frustration grows over the scarcity of Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) cash, the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has assured the nation that measures are being implemented to ensure the widespread availability of the local currency across the country.

In a press statement issued on 13 June 2025, RBZ Governor Dr. John Mushayavanhu acknowledged the concerns raised by citizens—especially those outside Harare—regarding limited access to ZiG in physical form.

“The Reserve Bank has noted concerns coming from the transacting public relating to the availability of ZiG cash and its usage, particularly from areas outside Harare,” said Dr. Mushayavanhu.

According to the RBZ, the usage of ZiG in the economy has improved significantly over the past year. Local currency settlements on the National Payment System jumped from ZiG7.86 billion (26%) in April 2024 to ZiG56.8 billion (43%) by 30 May 2025.

Dr. Mushayavanhu emphasized that there is sufficient ZiG liquidity in the system to meet public demand.

“As at 12 June 2025, the total ZiG deposits in the economy amounted to about ZiG16 billion, of which over ZiG207 million was cash held by banks,” he noted. “This meets optimal requirements and is sufficient to support daily deposits and withdrawals by the public.”

In response to continued pressure over the absence of physical cash in many provinces, the RBZ revealed that it is working with financial institutions to increase the distribution of ZiG through banking halls and ATMs. Some banks have already started dispensing ZiG through ATMs, while others are said to be in the process of configuring their machines.

“The Reserve Bank, in collaboration with banking institutions, has put in place measures to ensure the wider availability and distribution of ZiG cash,” the Governor stated.

Despite public skepticism, the RBZ insists that the currency and exchange rate stability currently being experienced will support the broader use of ZiG both electronically and physically.

“The Reserve Bank also remains strongly committed to maintaining the prevailing price and currency stability to safeguard the current and future ZiG purchasing power at all costs,” Dr. Mushayavanhu declared.

However, the statement comes amid growing economic anxiety, with citizens and businesses alike expressing concern over the usability and reliability of the new currency. Long queues, limited ATM functionality, and continued dollarisation in informal markets have left many questioning the practicality of ZiG in everyday transactions.

As the government pushes for wider adoption of the currency, all eyes remain on the RBZ’s ability to translate these assurances into tangible improvements on the ground.

🔴 BREAKING: British Airways Chennai-Bound Flight Diverted Back to London Mid-Air After Technical Glitch

By Dorrothy Moyo | London, 15 June 2025 —

Mid-Air Alarm, Grounded Relief: Chennai-Bound British Airways Flight Forced to Turn Back Over Dover

What began as a routine long-haul journey from London to Chennai suddenly turned into a tense mid-air diversion, as British Airways Flight BA35 veered off course above the English Channel, circling anxiously over the Strait of Dover. Inside the cabin, the mood shifted — a quiet murmur of uncertainty, eyes darting to overhead screens and cabin crew — as passengers realized something was wrong.

British Airways Dreamliner -file copy

But the moment the wheels of the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner touched down safely back at Heathrow, a wave of silent relief swept through the fuselage. Smiles returned. Tense shoulders dropped. What could have been a harrowing ordeal became a textbook demonstration of aviation safety protocols in action.

British Airways later confirmed the return was a precautionary measure following a reported technical issue — not an emergency, but a reminder that in the skies, every decision counts.

A British Airways flight bound for Chennai was forced to turn back to London’s Heathrow Airport on Sunday afternoon following reports of a technical issue, the airline confirmed in a statement.

Flight BA35, operated by an 11-year-old Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner (registration G-ZBJG), took off from Heathrow at 1:16 PM local time after a 36-minute delay. However, shortly after departure, the aircraft was seen circling repeatedly over the Strait of Dover before returning to Heathrow, according to data from flight tracking service Flightradar24.

British Airways described the decision to return as a “standard precaution” in response to a suspected technical anomaly.

“The flight landed safely with crew and customers disembarking as they normally would, and our teams are working hard to get their journeys back on track as soon as possible,” the airline said.

There were no reports of injuries or in-flight emergencies, and the aircraft landed safely without requiring emergency services on standby.

Passengers were met by airline staff on arrival and are being assisted with rebooking and accommodation where necessary.

Technical teams are now inspecting the Dreamliner to determine the exact nature of the fault. British Airways reiterated that passenger safety remains their top priority, and that early return protocols help prevent escalation of onboard technical concerns.

In a separate incident the same day, a Hyderabad-bound Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt also returned to its point of origin mid-air. Indian Air Traffic Control confirmed that Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad received notification that the flight had turned back. The specific reason for the return was not immediately known.

Both incidents highlight the aviation industry’s cautious approach toward onboard technical reports, especially involving long-haul international operations.

Econet Meltdown Sparks Exodus To Starlink

By Business Reporter-Econet Wireless has issued yet another apology as its mobile network continues to crumble, leaving millions of Zimbabweans frustrated and disconnected.

Alarm Bells Ring As DeMbare Remain In Relegation Zone

BREAKING NEWS: Temba Mliswa Arrested

By Crime and Courts Reporter-Former Norton legislator Temba Mliswa has been arrested by a team of armed Chinhoyi police officers from the Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Law and Order section.

Key Facts About Mushroom Farming…

By Dr Trywell Muzerengi

Oyster mushroom farming is fast emerging as one of the most accessible and profitable agribusiness opportunities in Zimbabwe, offering a low-cost, high-value avenue for income generation, food security, and environmental restoration.

Unlike many traditional crops that require expensive inputs, oyster mushrooms are incredibly cheap to grow. “You can use locally available crop residues as a growing medium, such as maize stalks, wheat straw, or cotton waste,” explains Dr Trywell Muzerengi. “This makes the enterprise ideal for rural and urban farmers alike, especially those with limited resources.”

Zimbabwe currently imports over 80% of its mushroom fruit from South Africa, highlighting a massive gap in the local supply chain and a ripe opportunity for domestic producers.

Another key advantage is that mushroom farming does not require costly infrastructure. “You don’t need expensive mushroom houses,” Dr Muzerengi adds. “You can construct low-cost structures using poles and thatch grass, or even convert existing tobacco barns into mushroom houses—especially in winter.”

Oyster mushrooms can be grown year-round, giving farmers a continuous production cycle and consistent income potential. Beyond food, mushrooms are in high demand for pharmaceutical applications, including the production of pills and natural health products. Additionally, oyster mushrooms play an important role in land reclamation, particularly on land degraded by mining and cyanidation.

“The Chinese are already taking advantage of Zimbabwe’s favourable climate to grow mushroom fruits for export,” notes Dr Muzerengi. “We need to harness this potential ourselves, especially with ready export and local markets.”

The benefits of oyster mushroom farming go beyond economics. It offers a path to self-employment, food nutrition, and value addition opportunities. Entrepreneurs can venture into producing mushroom-based products such as biltong, soaps, and even cosmetics for both local and international markets.

In a time when traditional farming faces numerous challenges—from climate change to market instability—oyster mushroom farming stands out as a resilient, affordable, and scalable solution for individuals and communities looking to grow wealth and sustainability from the soil up.

High School Learners Caught Smoking Mbanje

By A Correspondent | 15 June 2025

Police detectives in Murewa have arrested two individuals accused of supplying dangerous drugs to high school learners, following an incident where students were caught smoking dagga (mbanje) on school grounds.

The suspects, Hazvinei Time (51) and Blessing Tembo (26), were apprehended after five learners — three in Form 6 and two in Form 4 — were discovered using the illicit substance at a Murewa school on 11 June 2025.

During a follow-up search at Tembo’s residence, officers recovered 23 sachets of dagga hidden in a bedroom, pointing to an organised distribution operation targeting school children.

Authorities believe the increasing exposure of students to drug use on social media may be contributing to the trend. This concern follows the circulation of a viral video under police investigation, which shows a schoolgirl smoking what is believed to be dagga while her peers sing “Happy Birthday” in the background.

Commenting on the incident, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the investigation:

“The ZRP has taken note of a viral video in which a schoolgirl, dressed in school uniform, is seen smoking what appears to be dagga during a purported birthday celebration, with other students in the background singing a happy birthday song. Investigations are in progress.”

The case has raised alarm over the growing availability of narcotics among school-aged children and the role of adults in facilitating access.

Police say investigations are ongoing, and further arrests may follow as they work to dismantle drug distribution networks targeting schools.

From Bedroom to Briefing Room: Mnangagwa’s Secret Lover Hijacks National Security?

Leaked Audio of Mnangagwa’s Married Lover Exposes ‘Sex-urity’ Takeover of State Intelligence Operations

By ZimEye Investigations Desk | 15 June 2025

A sensational audio recording has surfaced online, revealing a disturbing blend of sexual intimacy and high-level intelligence directives involving President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his long-time lover, Rumbidzai Rusere — a married Deputy Director in Zimbabwe’s Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO). The leak has triggered widespread outrage and renewed calls for a formal investigation into the breakdown of executive authority and the politicisation of national security.

In the audio, Rusere can be heard giving explicit operational instructions while urging the President to act against CIO Director General Fulton Mangwanya. She accuses Mangwanya of obstructing a covert operation targeting whistleblower and former CIO officer Blessed Geza, along with citizen activist Gifford Gomwe — both linked to a military-endorsed petition to retire Mnangagwa, submitted on 21 May 2025.

“Hi, um, so I know you’re probably busy right now, but, uh, just wanted to let you know that Fulton is really being a problem. And, uh, can you please deal with him? Because no, the thing is he’s trying to block issue yaGeza, uh, uh, that assignment that you gave me and it’s frustrating me. But otherwise, about our stuff, please let me know when you’re free. And let it be soon, because I kind of miss you, and I miss it. Bye.”

The voice note, reportedly authenticated by multiple CIO insiders, exposes a compromising overlap between the President’s private relationships and the conduct of state intelligence operations. It reinforces long-standing concerns that critical institutions have been captured not by official command, but by proximity to Mnangagwa’s personal life.

‘State Sex-urity’: Is the Presidency Functioning?

This leak may represent the clearest proof yet of the erosion of presidential legitimacy — echoing warnings from senior war veterans in March that Zimbabwe has descended into a mafia-style regime where decision-making power lies outside official channels, often in the hands of romantic partners.

Sources within the CIO say Rusere has been running a parallel intelligence structure, reportedly funded by politically connected businessmen Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Wicknell Chivayo. Her influence allegedly extends beyond intelligence briefings into command-level decisions traditionally reserved for the CIO Director General.

According to a viral exposé by whistleblower @bambaninga:

Rusere leads unsanctioned operations funded by state-linked oligarchs.

She allegedly ordered the abduction of Gifford Gomwe’s elderly mother without DG Mangwanya’s knowledge.

She owns multiple luxury properties abroad — in Dubai, Sandton, Randburg, and Singapore — financed through state looting and gifts from Mnangagwa.

Senior CIO officers reportedly answer to her directly, bypassing the formal chain of command.

State resources are being deployed to protect controversial businessmen like Delish Nguwaya and Chivayo.

“Rusere has @edmnangagwa by the balls,” one whistleblower wrote. “She can recommend that Mangwanya be fired.”

Petition to Retire Mnangagwa in Jeopardy

The leaked audio appears to confirm that Rusere is spearheading efforts to derail the military-backed petition to retire Mnangagwa. Her top target is Blessed Geza, the former CIO operative who publicly accused military elites of betrayal. The voice note strongly implies that Rusere was directly tasked by the President to “find and destroy” Geza, with full access to the CIO’s resources.

Military insiders involved in the petition say they are “horrified” by the degree to which presidential affairs are now dictating national security strategy.

“This is no longer a presidency,” a senior military source told ZimEye. “It’s a brothel with guns.”

The Rise of Bedroom Command: A Pattern Emerges

This is not the first time President Mnangagwa’s private liaisons have come under public scrutiny. However, the Rusere saga marks a sharp escalation — involving allegations of abductions, offshore asset laundering, and the subversion of official intelligence channels.

Rusere, who is married to Engineer Kanhukamwe, Vice Chancellor of the Harare Institute of Technology, has emerged as a de facto power broker not only within the CIO but also within the presidency itself.

“Our country has become Sodom and Gomorrah,” wrote @bambaninga. “It is now run on sex and debauchery.”

Public Calls for Action

In response to the revelations, numerous civil society groups have demanded an urgent judicial inquiry into Rusere’s influence, with several activists insisting the scandal meets the constitutional criteria for impeaching the President on grounds of gross misconduct and incapacity.

ZimEye has contacted the Office of the President, the CIO, and Director General Mangwanya for comment. None had responded at the time of publication.

This is a developing story.

Zanu PF Wins Gutu East By-election Amid Intimidation Of Voters, Vote Buying

By A Correspondent

ZANU PF has secured a contested victory in the Gutu East Constituency by-election held on June 14, with its candidate Zvarevashe Masvingise declared the new Member of Parliament — despite widespread reports of voter intimidation and alleged vote buying.

Masvingise emerged with a commanding lead, polling 9,321 votes, while independent candidate Gift Gonese trailed behind with 2,269 votes. Zivanai Nzvenga of the National Constitutional Assembly (NCA) managed only 173 votes, placing a distant third.

The official announcement was made on Saturday evening by Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) constituency officer Ernest Mukwidzwa, who read the formal declaration at the district collation centre.

“Declaration of Result of Poll – Constituency,” Mukwidzwa stated.
“Being the constituency elections officer for Gutu East, I do hereby declare that I have, in accordance with the Electoral Act [Chapter 2:13], and the regulations made thereunder, ascertained the result of the poll for the said constituency… and that there have been given to: Masvingise Zvarevashe of ZANU PF – 9,321 votes; Gift Gonese, Independent – 2,269 votes; and Nzvenga Zivanai of the NCA – 173 votes.”

He added that 194 ballot papers were rejected, with a voter turnout of 48.3%.

“I therefore declare the said Masvingise duly elected this day as Member of the National Assembly for Gutu East Constituency,” Mukwidzwa concluded.

However, the result has been overshadowed by mounting allegations from civil society organisations and local observers who claim the electoral process was marred by irregularities. Voters in several wards reportedly faced intimidation, while reports also surfaced of groceries and cash handouts being distributed by ZANU PF activists in the days leading up to the poll.

An observer affiliated with a local watchdog group, speaking on condition of anonymity, said:

“What we witnessed was not a free and fair election. People were threatened with food aid withdrawal if they didn’t vote for ZANU PF, and some villagers said they received maize and cooking oil in exchange for their vote.”

Gift Gonese, the independent candidate, has not yet issued a formal statement, but his campaign team described the atmosphere as “hostile” and “heavily compromised.”

The by-election was triggered by the recall of the previous ZANU PF MP, Benjamin Ganyiwa, and was seen as a crucial test of the ruling party’s grip on rural constituencies following growing public discontent.

The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has not responded to allegations of misconduct.

ZiG Will Be Available Soon, RBZ Tells Nation Amid Deepening Economic Turmoil

Dozen Secret Police Swarm Mzembi In Court Drama

By Crime and Courts Reporter– Former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi was swarmed by more than ten plain-clothed state security agents as he appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court on Saturday, creating a dramatic scene that looked more like the escort of a dangerous fugitive than a former cabinet minister.

Dressed in civilian clothes but moving in coordinated formation, the secret police surrounded Mzembi from all sides, shielding him from the public and media as if he were a high-risk criminal.

The heavy security presence shocked onlookers and highlighted the high stakes surrounding Mzembi’s sensational return from self-imposed exile.

Mzembi appeared before magistrate Don Ndirowei, facing charges related to three outstanding warrants of arrest.

Ndirowei remanded him in custody and postponed the case to Monday, while the tight-lipped security detail hustled Mzembi back into holding cells under watchful eyes.

Mzembi, a former G40 stalwart who fled Zimbabwe in the aftermath of the 2017 military coup that toppled Robert Mugabe, had returned to the country earlier this week under mysterious circumstances.

His quiet arrival and reports of private meetings with President Emmerson Mnangagwa at the Bronte Hotel triggered speculation of a potential political comeback—or a negotiated immunity deal.

But his dramatic arrest by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) over the weekend has poured cold water on that narrative.

Sources say Mzembi was picked up early Saturday morning and handed over to ZACC investigators, who are now vetting his role in unresolved corruption cases dating back to his tenure in government.

Mzembi’s surprise return had already drawn sharp criticism from war veterans and opposition figures, who accused him of “cutting secret deals in the shadows” and betraying the victims of past political purges. His arrest has now raised fresh questions: Was he lured back under false pretenses? Or did a backroom deal go sour?

Observers say the overwhelming security detail escorting Mzembi to court was not just for protection—but a message.

It signals a high-level power play, possibly orchestrated from within the ruling elite itself, and underscores the volatility of Zimbabwe’s post-coup political landscape.

More developments are expected as Mzembi’s court case unfolds on Monday.

RBZ Panics As ZiG Shortage Worsens

By Business Reporter – The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has said they were putting measures to curb the shortage of Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG).

The current scarcity, particularly pronounced in areas outside Harare, has reignited concerns over Zimbabwe’s long-standing monetary instability, which dates back to the early 2000s.

The ongoing crisis is rooted in decades of poor economic governance, failed monetary reforms, and public distrust in the financial system.

These systemic issues have left the country trapped in a cycle of currency collapse, cash shortages, and inflationary pressures.

Since 2000, Zimbabwe has undergone numerous currency changes, each accompanied by promises of stability that failed to materialize.

From the infamous Zimbabwean dollar—once rendered worthless by hyperinflation—to the US dollar era and the later RTGS dollar experiment, each phase has been plagued by inconsistent policy decisions, political interference in monetary affairs, and lack of confidence in the central bank.

The introduction of ZiG in April 2024 was the latest attempt to restore stability through a gold-backed currency.

In a statement issued yesterday, RBZ Governor John Mushayavanhu sought to calm public anxiety, insisting that there is no shortage of ZiG in the market.

He said the usage of the local currency has “improved significantly in the economy,” citing figures that show the value of local currency settlements through the National Payment System jumped from ZiG7.86 billion (26%) in April to ZiG56.8 billion (43%) by May 30, 2025.

Mushayavanhu explained that as of June 12, total ZiG deposits in the banking sector amounted to ZiG16 billion, with over ZiG207 million held as physical cash by commercial banks. “This is sufficient to support daily deposits and withdrawals by the public,” he claimed.

However, on the ground, the story is different.

Long queues at banks, limited cash at ATMs, and rising complaints from businesses and consumers alike paint a picture of a currency system once again failing to meet everyday needs.

While the RBZ says some banks have begun disbursing ZiG through ATMs and others are in the process of reconfiguring their machines, distribution remains patchy and slow.

To address the crisis, the central bank says it is working closely with financial institutions to scale up the availability of ZiG in both physical and electronic forms.

The government also believes that current macroeconomic stability and a firm exchange rate will eventually improve public confidence in the currency.

But critics argue that until deeper structural issues are addressed—such as rampant corruption, poor fiscal discipline, and opaque policy-making—new currencies will continue to suffer the same fate.

Many Zimbabweans remain sceptical of the ZiG’s long-term viability, viewing it as just another rebranding exercise masking deeper economic rot.

Despite official reassurances, the current cash shortages serve as a sobering reminder that without genuine economic reforms, Zimbabwe’s monetary challenges are far from over.

ZANU PF Wins ‘Self Contested’ By-Elections

By A Correspondent-ZANU PF has retained its grip on two parliamentary constituencies—Gutu East and Insiza North—following controversial by-elections held on June 14, with political observers noting that in Insiza North, the ruling party effectively contested against itself.

In Insiza NorthDelani Moyo of ZANU PF was declared the duly elected Member of Parliament after garnering 1,131 votes, ahead of Thabani Mlotshwa of the ZAPU Party with 714 votes. However, what raised eyebrows was the presence of two other candidates: Mbongeni Moyo of the ZNR Party and Leslie Dube, an Independent, who polled 131 and 1,187 votes respectively.

Leslie Dube, a known ZANU PF affiliate, ran as an independent after being controversially barred from contesting under the party banner during internal selection processes. This effectively turned the race into an intra-party showdown, with ZANU PF splitting its vote between its official candidate and a disgruntled member, while opposition parties struggled to make an impact.

The official declaration form, signed by Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) constituency elections officer Dube Ivaini Zelemeyi, confirmed Delani Moyo as the winner. The document showed 84 rejected ballots and a voter turnout of 35.8%.

Meanwhile, in Gutu East, ZANU PF’s Zvarevashe Masvingise clinched a sweeping victory with 9,321 votes, far ahead of Independent candidate Gift Gonese, who received 2,269 votes. The NCA’s Zivanai Nzvenga came a distant third with 173 votes. The results were announced by ZEC constituency officer Ernest Mukwidzwa, who also reported 194 rejected ballots and a 48.3% turnout.

Both by-elections were triggered by recalls of sitting MPs—Benjamin Ganyiwa in Gutu East and an internal leadership dispute in Insiza North.

The developments point to growing internal rifts within ZANU PF, especially in rural constituencies where party loyalists are increasingly defying official endorsements by contesting as independents. In Insiza North, this split vote between two ZANU PF-aligned candidates nearly cost the ruling party the seat, with Leslie Dube actually polling more votes than the official opposition candidate.

Observers say the by-elections, far from demonstrating national democratic competition, expose a dangerous pattern of authoritarian consolidation, intra-party purges, and political exclusion even within ZANU PF’s own ranks.

Mnangagwa Placed Under Fresh US Sanctions

Washington D.C. – The administration of former US President Donald Trump has placed Zimbabwe under a renewed travel restriction order, citing concerns over governance and human rights abuses.

Zimbabwe is among 36 countries flagged in a new State Department memo for failing to meet strict U.S. immigration, security, and diplomatic benchmarks, with President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government under specific scrutiny.

This development marks yet another escalation in the strained relations between Harare and Washington that began in 2002, when the United States first imposed targeted sanctions on Zimbabwean officials under the Zimbabwe Democracy and Economic Recovery Act (ZDERA).

Zanu PF Wins Gutu East By-election

By A Correspondent

ZANU PF has retained its stronghold in the Gutu East Constituency following a controversial victory in the June 14 by-election, with party candidate Zvarevashe Masvingise declared the new Member of Parliament.

Masvingise secured a commanding lead, garnering 9,321 votes, ahead of independent candidate Gift Gonese, who received 2,269 votes.

The National Constitutional Assembly’s (NCA) Zivanai Nzvenga came a distant third, managing only 173 votes.

The results were officially announced on Saturday evening by Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) constituency officer Ernest Mukwidzwa.

“Declaration of Result of Poll – Constituency,” Mukwidzwa read from the official notice.

Mukwidzwa further confirmed that 194 ballots were rejected, and voter turnout was 48.3%.

“I therefore declare the said Masvingise duly elected this day as Member of the National Assembly for Gutu East Constituency,” he concluded.

The by-election followed the vacancy created after the recalling of the former ZANU PF MP Benjamin Ganyiwa.

This Is Not Economic Reform—It’s Self-Sabotage, Experts Warn Mnangagwa Against Ditching US Dollar

By A Correspondent

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s government is reportedly weighing a risky shift in Zimbabwe’s monetary policy—phasing out the US dollar in favor of the recently reintroduced Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) as the country’s sole legal tender. But analysts, political activists, and economists warn the move could trigger economic collapse, fuel black market activity, and spark public outrage.

The proposal, reportedly driven by recommendations from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), suggests Zimbabwe is ready to embrace a monocurrency system. IMF mission chief Wojciech Maliszewski praised Zimbabwe’s monetary progress during a recent Article IV consultation, noting “encouraging progress” in stabilising the local currency and narrowing the gap between official and parallel market rates.

“We would like to see a deeper forex market… and ideally, an elimination of the gap between parallel and official rates,” Maliszewski said. He added the ZiG had shown “sufficient stability” for wider adoption.

However, critics on the ground are not convinced. The US dollar currently dominates over 70% of transactions in Zimbabwe, with citizens relying on its relative stability amid lingering distrust of local currency.

“This is a recipe for disaster,” warned Stephen Sarkozy Chuma, former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) youth assembly spokesperson. “The government is trying to force economic patriotism on a public that has no confidence in its own institutions. People trust the US dollar because it’s stable and reliable. Removing it will not restore trust in the ZiG—it will fuel black market chaos, inflation, and public resentment.”

The ZiG, introduced by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe earlier this year, has struggled to gain widespread public acceptance. Many workers are still paid in US dollars, and most businesses quote prices in the greenback—signs that confidence in the local currency remains fragile.

Gibson Murinye, a political activist based in Masvingo, warned that the fundamentals for a monocurrency regime are simply not in place.

“Wages are still being paid in USD because no one trusts the ZiG. Shops are quoting prices in US dollars. The moment they remove the dollar, inflation will explode overnight. People will suffer,” he said. “This is not economic reform—it’s self-sabotage.”

Despite public concerns, some economists close to the ruling party support the idea. Gladys Shumbambiri-Mutsopotsi argued that adopting a single currency could strengthen the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s control over economic levers such as interest rates and inflation.

“A monocurrency will give the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe more control over interest rates, inflation, and broader economic policy,” she said.

But for many Zimbabweans, monetary control means little without credibility. The trauma of the 2008 hyperinflation crisis—when the Zimbabwean dollar became worthless and life savings were wiped out—still casts a long shadow.

While the Mnangagwa administration has yet to officially announce the phasing out of the US dollar, signals from government insiders and financial institutions suggest momentum is building. Opposition voices, however, are calling on the president to hit pause.

“You cannot build a currency on slogans and hope,” said Chuma. “You build it on trust, and right now, the people trust the dollar—not the ZiG.”

As the debate intensifies, Zimbabwe’s economic future hangs in the balance.

Mzembi Languishes In Remand

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi emerges from the shadows flanked by a formidable entourage—suited men, dark shades, coffee cups in hand, and all eyes locked forward. At the center, Mzembi strides with face masked and guarded posture, a fallen statesman returning to court not as a diplomat but as a detainee. This image, captured just moments before his appearance at the Harare Magistrates Court, paints a powerful portrait of a man once in power now encircled by legal jeopardy and political uncertainty.

Former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi was led by a stern entourage into court where he faced charges for defaulting on his court appearances. Mzembi, seen in the image flanked by a mix of suited and casual security aides, wore a face mask and dark glasses, visibly subdued as he was marched under heavy escort.

The once-exiled G40 stalwart will spend the weekend behind bars after Magistrate Donald Ndirowei remanded him in custody until Monday. The charges stem from Mzembi’s failure to attend court on three separate occasions, prompting the issuance of warrants for his arrest.

During the brief court sitting, the State, represented by prosecutor Tendai Shonhayi, said the hearing could not proceed as they needed time to assess medical documents provided by Mzembi’s legal team, which reportedly explain his previous absences. His lawyer, Killian Mandike of Chiturumani Law Chambers, told the court they intend to furnish additional supporting documentation to justify the no-shows.

Mzembi had recently made headlines following his return to Zimbabwe after years in self-imposed exile. His reappearance sparked intense speculation about political deals behind the scenes, especially after he was seen in meetings with senior state officials. But the dramatic turn of events this weekend has cast a shadow over any hopes of a smooth reintegration.

Mzembi will now remain in custody at Harare Remand Prison as the court prepares to hear arguments on the validity of his excuses this coming Monday.

Motorbike Thief Convicted

CHIWESHE MOTORBIKE THIEF JAILED 4 YEARS, 6 MONTHS

Bindura, Zimbabwe – June 15, 2025

By A Correspondent | ZimEye | A 40-year-old man from Muchirikuenda Village under Chief Negomo in Chiweshe will spend the next four years and six months behind bars after being convicted of motorcycle theft by the Bindura Magistrates’ Court.

Terrence Phiri was sentenced this week following a cunning theft that took place nearly a year ago. On June 7, 2024, Phiri and an unidentified accomplice, who is still at large, posed as stranded passengers and approached local farmer Tapiwa Chigora. Chigora was riding his red Senke motorbike along the Musweswenedi-Nzvimbo Road when the pair flagged him down, requesting a lift to Nzvimbo Business Centre.

According to court proceedings, the suspects claimed they needed to buy petrol from a homestead in Forester J, Mvurwi, and offered the farmer US$4 for the ride. Upon arrival, they persuaded Chigora to walk a short distance to fetch more fuel. While he was out of sight, the duo vanished with the motorcycle, which was valued at US$1,500.

The stolen motorbike resurfaced months later in Nyatsime, Chitungwiza. On April 10, 2025, detectives tracked it down to Chibhanguza Shopping Centre, where it was recovered and positively identified by the victim.

Phiri was arrested on April 19, 2025, and charged with theft. Magistrate’s Court handed him a 5-year prison sentence, with 6 months suspended for 5 years, effectively jailing him for 4 years and 6 months.

Police are still searching for Phiri’s accomplice, and investigations remain ongoing. Authorities have urged members of the public to be cautious when offering transport to strangers, especially in isolated rural areas.-ZimEye

Harare Cracks Down on Illegal Businesses: “We Are Clamping Down on Lawlessness” — Town Clerk

By A Correspondent

The City of Harare has launched a city-wide enforcement blitz targeting unlicensed and non-compliant businesses, warning of water disconnections, closures, and penalties for those in violation of municipal regulations.

In a strongly worded notice issued by Acting Town Clerk Engineer Phakamile Moyo, the city announced a crackdown on what it termed “lawlessness and illegal business operations” in and around the capital.

“The City of Harare is clamping down on lawlessness and illegal business operations in and around the city,” Moyo declared.

As part of the enforcement effort, the city will disconnect water supplies to all commercial and industrial properties that are in arrears and lack valid business licenses. The move is aimed at compelling businesses to regularize their operations and comply with city by-laws.

Moyo further stated that the City Health Department will conduct inspections and shut down premises operating without running water, citing violations of the Public Health Act Chapter 15.17 and the Harare Licensed Premises By-Law.

“The City Health Department shall inspect premises and close down those operating without running water in contravention of the Public Health Act,” he said.

Businesses currently operating without proper documentation have been urged to urgently visit the Rowan Martin Building to settle outstanding arrears and secure the necessary licenses.

“Those without valid business licenses are urged to urgently visit our Rowan Martin Building to regularise their operations and settle their arrears,” Moyo emphasized.

CWGH Marks World Blood Donor Day

Community Working Group on Health on
World Blood Donor Day: Give Blood, Give Hope -Together We Save Lives
As Zimbabwe joins the rest of the world in commemorating World Blood Donor Day today, the
Community Working Group on Health (CWGH) wishes to pay heartfelt tribute to the thousands
of Zimbabweans who voluntarily and selflessly donate blood. These individuals, who give
without expectation of payment, are true heroes offering hope and a second chance at life to
many.
This year’s World Blood Donor Day theme, “Give Blood. Give Hope – Together We Save
Lives,” highlights the transformative power of blood donation, honours the unity within
communities, and inspires both new and regular donors to continue their life-saving
contributions. CWGH encourages both first-time and regular donors to give blood regularly.
However, CWGH is deeply concerned that the high cost of blood remains one of the major
barriers that prevent ordinary Zimbabweans from accessing and enjoying their health
entertainments and rights as enshrined in the country’s constitution which stipulates that health
is a right.
The country faces a high demand for blood transfusion due to bleeding related to pregnancy
and child birth, high road traffic accidents and other types of injuries. However, the most
affected are pregnant women who require the life-saving commodity. About half a million
pregnancies are expected in Zimbabwe and some of these there is excessive blood loss,
requiring transfusion of at least three pints of blood. Timely blood transfusion prevents maternal
deaths which in Zimbabwe stands at 212 women dying per every 100,000 live births. Maternal
mortality in Zimbabwe remains unacceptably high.
The ongoing economic challenges and high unemployment rates mean that many families are
unable to afford life-saving blood transfusions. The latest Zimbabwe Demographic and Health
Survey (ZDHS 2023-2024) reveals that only 4% of the population has medical aid coverage.
This leaves the vast majority of Zimbabweans to shoulder the full financial burden of blood
procurement and other healthcare costs. It is also distressing that families are forced to sell their
prized possessions at a loss to save their loved ones. The current cost of a single unit of blood
(250ml) is approximately US$250 an amount well beyond the reach of most Zimbabweans,
including those in formal employment.
We urge the government to take decisive action by significantly subsidizing blood services.
Every Zimbabwean, regardless of economic status, must be able to access this essential
component of healthcare. We also call for increased investment in sustainable national blood
programmes to ensure both the affordability and accessibility of blood and blood products.
The Health Levy Fund of 5% tax on airtime and mobile data was set up to specifically subsidise
the cost of blood and assist public health institutions to replace obsolete equipment and address
the perennial drug shortages in our public institutions and that money should be ring-fenced and
used for its intended purpose. Unfortunately there is lack of transparency and accountability on
the use of the Levy. We call upon the government to utilize the Levy for its intended purpose in
a more accountable and transparent manner.
The shortage of blood and blood products compromises the quality of outcome, especially
where theater outcomes are concerned. We therefore urge the National Blood Services
Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Health and Child Care to urgently devise innovative and
sustainable ways of ensuring that they increase the number of eligible blood donors.
As a nation, we must prioritize the provision of affordable and accessible blood and blood
services. CWGH calls on the government, civil society, and the community to work together to
ensure that no life is lost due to the unavailability or unaffordability of blood. In so doing so, we
not only save lives but also uphold the dignity and rights of every Zimbabwean.
Globally, an estimated 14 million women experience hemorrhage during childbirth each year.
Timely access to safe blood transfusions is vital for saving lives, especially in developing
countries where severe bleeding is a leading cause of maternal death.
The Community Working Group on Health (CWGH) is a network of national membership based
civil society and community-based organizations that aim to collectively enhance community
participation in health in Zimbabwe.

Leaked Audio Of Mnangagwa Married Girlfriend Asking For Intimacy And Support To Deal With Geza, Gomwe, And CIO Director General

🔴 BREAKING NEWS: Mnangagwa Lover Leak Exposes “State Sex-urity” Coup Inside Zimbabwe’s Intelligence Services

By ZimEye Investigations Desk | 15 June 2025

A devastating audio leak (which the accused says was AI generated) has sugggested the extent to which President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s private bedroom affairs have overtaken Zimbabwe’s state intelligence operations, triggering alarm across the nation’s security establishment and prompting urgent calls for a national inquiry.

The voice note, now circulating widely on social media, features Rumbidzai Rusere — a Deputy Director in the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) and a long-time married lover of Mnangagwa — issuing direct instructions to the President to neutralise CIO Director-General Fulton Mangwanya, accusing him of blocking an intelligence mission targeting whistleblower Blessed Geza and citizen activist Gifford Gomwe. It is alleged Rusere is behind the abduction of Gomwe’s mother.

“Hi, um, so I know you’re probably busy right now, but… just wanted to let you know that Fulton is really being a problem. Can you please deal with him? He’s trying to block issue yaGeza… that assignment you gave me. It’s frustrating me. But otherwise, about our stuff — let me know when you’re free. I miss you. I miss it.”

This mix of romantic intimacy and executive command, allegedly authenticated by whistleblowers inside the CIO, blurs the line between statecraft and seduction — and signals what many insiders are calling the collapse of Mnangagwa’s presidency into a private bedroom cabal.

🕵🏾‍♂️ CIO in Disarray as Rusere Bypasses Official Chain of Command

Insiders confirm Rusere has established a parallel command structure, reportedly funded by state-linked businessmen Kudakwashe Tagwirei and Wicknell Chivayo. Key allegations surfaced in a thread by prominent whistleblower @bambaninga include:
• Unapproved intelligence missions targeting activists without DG Mangwanya’s knowledge.
• Abduction of Gifford Gomwe’s elderly mother, reportedly ordered by Rusere.
• Massive offshore wealth in Dubai, Singapore, and South Africa — funded via looted public funds and gifts from Mnangagwa.
• Direct oversight of CIO field agents, effectively sidelining the DG’s office.
• Protection of controversial businessmen like Delish Nguwaya and Chivayo using state resources.

One CIO officer told ZimEye anonymously:

“Rusere has Mnangagwa by the balls. She decides who gets fired. The real DG is no longer Mangwanya — it’s her.”

🧨 Attempt to Derail 21 May Petition to Retire Mnangagwa

The leak also exposes Rusere’s involvement in sabotaging the citizens’ petition submitted on 21 May 2025, demanding Mnangagwa’s immediate retirement — a document reportedly endorsed by military officers. Blessed Geza, a central figure in that campaign, has now been marked for “elimination”, according to the recording.

Military insiders, already concerned about Mnangagwa’s weakening grip, say the audio confirms their worst fears:

“This is no longer a presidency. It’s a brothel with guns,” one colonel remarked.

🛑 War Veterans’ March Warning Comes True

In March 2025, senior war veterans publicly declared that Zimbabwe “no longer has a president”, warning that executive power had been outsourced to personal mistresses. This new leak appears to confirm that assessment — with national security policies now shaped in the heat of private affairs.

🛑 Public Calls for Action

Civic organisations and human rights groups are now demanding:
• An urgent judicial inquiry into CIO operations.
• Immediate suspension of Rusere pending investigation.
• Parliamentary action under Section 97 of the Constitution for potential removal of Mnangagwa on grounds of serious misconduct and incapacity.

⚖️ Will There Be Consequences?

As State House remains tight-lipped, and CIO Director-General Mangwanya reportedly “shocked and sidelined,” Zimbabwe is facing one of its most serious governance crises since the 2017 coup. This time, however, no tanks are visible on the streets — the coup is unfolding between silk sheets and classified files.

This is a developing story.
ZimEye has reached out to all parties for comment. None had responded at the time of publication.

Original ZAPU Launched

The Original ZAPU was officially launched in Bulawayo at the Small City Hall in a peaceful atmosphere.
Officially launching the Original ZAPU party, the interim President, Mathew Sibanda said they are reviving the Original ZAPU following a fall out with Sibangilizwe Nkomo who was imposed on people without following proper party channels.
“We agreed to revive the Original ZAPU after realizing that those who hijacked the party have no plans to build but are determined to destroy it intentionally with the help of the ruling party using clandestine tricks,” said Sibanda.
He added that a congress will be held soon in order to save the nation that is faced with a number of challenges.
The Original ZAPU interim deputy Organizing Secretary, Stylish Magida said that they are reviving the party to deal with lawlessness and corruption that is going on in the country with no one challenging the powers that be to refrain from destroying the nation.
“Zimbabweans are currently going through the most difficult situation and unless we stand up to challenge those who are destroying the country they will continue doing so because they never fought for this country.” said Magida.
Original ZAPU Elder. Gideon Dlamini expressed his greatest concern about the starving masses.
“Only a few individuals are enjoying and eating yet the masses are starving. People have no jobs, the hospitals are not equipped with the necessary resources but there is a government in power that has no remorse,” said Dlamini.
Mthwakazi Republic Party officials who attended the official launch of Original ZAPU promised to support and work with the O ZAPU because they are fighting a common enemy that thrives on under developing and marginalizing Matabeleland.
Nkosilathi Khanye. MRP official welcomed the revival of O ZAPU
“We are highly delighted that ZAPU has strong man and women who are ready to fight the oppressive system that is corrupt”
A Bulawayo based youth, Nkosilathi Tshuma thanked the O ZAPU leadership and urged other youths to stand up and fight for their rights.
“We all know that as youth the current government has neglected us. We have no jobs but we are educated. There are no initiatives for the youths and those that are created they are only reserved for those close to the top ruling officers,” said Tshuma
ZimEye failed to get a comment from the ruling party, Zanu-PF Secretary, Obert Mpofu, was not answering his phone.

Magaya, Makandiwa Could Join Mzembi In Prison

By Crime and Courts Reporter-Controversial church leaders Walter Magaya of the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries and Emmanuel Makandiwa of the United Family International Church (UFIC) could soon face arrest following the dramatic return and subsequent detention of former Foreign Affairs Minister Walter Mzembi.

Mzembi appeared before Harare Magistrate Don Ndirowei on Saturday, facing charges related to defaulting on three outstanding arrest warrants.

The magistrate remanded him in custody until Monday.

The former minister was arrested Friday night by officers from the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), just days after his surprise return from self-imposed exile.

Mzembi, who originally faced corruption charges in January 2018 and was released on bail, became a fugitive in 2019 when a warrant was issued for his arrest after he skipped trial.

He had been accused of converting to personal use television sets worth nearly US$1 million, which were meant for fan parks during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Notably, Mzembi allegedly donated 16 of the TVs, valued at around US$800,000, to prominent churches—including Magaya’s PHD Ministries and Makandiwa’s UFIC—raising questions about the churches’ possible involvement in the alleged misuse of public resources.

Legal analysts suggest that the two high-profile preachers could be called in for questioning, and potentially face arrest, as investigations widen.

Beyond the fan park scandal, Mzembi is also accused of misappropriating US$1.6 million allocated for the 2013 United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly, which Zimbabwe co-hosted with Zambia in Victoria Falls.

His return to Zimbabwe this week shocked many.

Mzembi, a prominent figure in the G40 faction of ZANU PF, had fled the country in the aftermath of the 2017 military coup that ousted longtime ruler Robert Mugabe.

He claimed persecution and threats to his life at the time.

Just days ago, ZimEye Exclusively reported that Mzembi was seen being whisked away from the Bronte Hotel under tight security for meetings with high-level government officials. His presence had triggered backlash from opposition figures and war veterans who accused him of “selling out” and “cutting deals in the shadows.”

His reappearance triggered widespread speculation of a political comeback, with critics accusing him of cutting secret deals.

War veterans and opposition figures were particularly vocal, accusing Mzembi of betrayal.

Whether his return was part of a failed political arrangement or a misjudgment that reopened legal trouble, Mzembi’s case could now have wider implications—particularly for the religious institutions that benefited from his alleged misuse of state assets.

This is a developing story.

About Mushroom Farming…

The Fastest Way to Start Playing JetX and Climbing the Multiplier

If you haven’t heard of JetX by now, you are missing out. It is a crash game developed by SmartSoft Gaming that has Kenya bettors glued to their phones. The gameplay is quite simple as the main goal is to cash out before the plane “crashes” to secure your winnings. The setup is the high-risk, high-reward format which gives an adrenaline rush like no other.

In this article, we will be going through this crash-style game which has gained popularity because of its fast-paced gameplay, mobile accessibility, and support for local payment methods like M-Pesa, and Airtel Money. Come along as we go through the fastest ways to start playing the game and get to win big JetX.

How to Start Playing JetX in Kenya

Getting started with this game in Kenya is very straightforward if you follow the steps we outline below:

  1. Choose a Licensed Platform: This is a very important step in getting started. You absolutely need to play only on reputable online casino sites licensed by the Betting Control and Licensing Board in Kenya, or you can check to see if they have a reputable license from international gaming regulatory bodies like Curacao.
  2. Sign Up and Verify: After verifying the casino’s license, you can now create your account by providing the details required at the point of registration, which usually includes your email, phone number, and occasionally social media channels. You should avoid being sneaky for any reason and make sure you register with a valid ID so as to comply with local regulations.

  3. Deposit Funds: You will only have access to the demo version of the game unless you deposit and play with real money. To do this you can deposit with local payment methods like M-Pesa or Airtel Money for quick and secure deposits.
  4. Access the game: As soon as you have the funds you deposited credited to your account, it’s time to navigate to the casino games section. Search for JetX, which is often located under “Crash Games”, and you can start playing.

JetX Betting Strategy That Works

Just as sports bettors have a lot of strategy to choose from, including the Martingale system, Kelly Criterion, among many others, so also do crash bettors have strategies that can be applied to each round. A solid JetX betting strategy can change the gameplay entirely, one effective method you can try is double-betting, which goes thus:

  • Place two bets every round: One of these bets would have to have an early auto-cashout, for example 1.5x for small wins and another targeting a higher multiplier around the range of 5X so that you can get bigger payouts. What this does is balance the risk to reward ratio, so that you can maintain your bankroll while you go for bigger rewards at the same time.
  • Time-based pattern recognition: This strategy basically depends on how well you can translate the game stats and make decisions off of that. What you will need to do is check the previous data on previous rounds which is usually available on most platforms, then identify trends like frequent low multiplier crashes after a big multiplier reward. However, since JetX relies on random number generators, the patterns are not predictive but this strategy can help guide you to play with caution.
  • Set Betting Limits: You can bet around 5% of your bankroll per round to avoid making emotional decisions, you are free to decide on whatever percentage of your bankroll is comfortable for you to be with. This strategy requires a lot of discipline if you want to get it right. However, you should track your bets using a spreadsheet or journal to analyze previous performance and make changes to your betting strategy if needed.

Smart Betting Tip for Players

If you will be playing this game, we think you might need the information hereunder to avoid rookie mistakes:

  • Decide in advance how much you are willing to lose per session. You can decide to stop after doubling your bankroll or after losing 20% of it.
  • You should also avoid increasing your bets to recover losses, which is a rookie mistake of chasing losses.
  • You should also try reducing your stake during unstable periods when crashes occur at low multipliers.
  • If you are starting out for the first time, it’s advisable to use the free demo mode to test your gambling strategies without financial risk. When you’re convinced of your skill, you can then take advantage of the bonus JetX.

Conclusion

We have reviewed everything you need to play smart on JetX, start by choosing a licensed platform, apply discipline to your stakes with a betting strategy and then use the smart betting tips we mentioned to reduce the financial risks that you might encounter. With patience and the outlined strategies, you can enjoy the excitement of raising the multiplier.

The Secret to Stress-Free Cloud Life: What a CCSP Expert Really Does

Ever feel like your business is living partly in the clouds? Not literally, of course, but your important files, customer details, and even your daily work tools are probably stored “in the cloud.” It’s amazing, right? You can work from anywhere, share things easily, and scale up without buying tons of expensive equipment.

But let’s be honest, sometimes the “cloud” can feel a bit… mysterious. You hear about data breaches, privacy scares, and complicated tech rules. It can make you wonder: Is my digital stuff really safe up there? Is it all going to be okay?

If those worries ever cross your mind, you’re not alone. And here’s the secret to making that cloud life truly stress-free: having a CCSP expert on your side.

What is “Cloud Life” Anyway, and Why Can It Be Stressful?

Think of “the cloud” as a giant, super-secure data center that isn’t in your office. It’s like renting space in a high-tech, always-on digital storage facility and using super-fast computers that aren’t physically sitting on your desk. It’s incredibly convenient for everything from small businesses to huge companies.

But with all that convenience comes responsibility. Who’s making sure your digital “stuff” is locked up tight? Are you following all the rules about protecting customer information? What if someone tries to sneak in? These are the real-world worries that can turn the promise of the cloud into a source of anxiety.

The Problem: When Cloud Worries Keep You Up at Night

Without the right expertise, your cloud journey might hit some bumps:

  • Unexpected Visitors: Someone unauthorized gaining access to your sensitive information.
  • Data Disappearing Act: Important files getting lost or stolen.
  • Rulebook Headaches: Struggling to keep up with all the ever-changing data privacy laws (like GDPR or other regional regulations).
  • Costly Surprises: Finding out too late that a security gap has led to a huge fine or a damaged reputation.

These aren’t just technical glitches; they’re business-stopping, trust-breaking problems.

The Solution: Meet Your Cloud Guardian – The CCSP Expert

This is where the CCSP (Certified Cloud Security Professional) steps in as your ultimate cloud guardian. This isn’t just another tech title; it’s a globally recognized badge that shows someone is a true master at keeping cloud environments safe and sound.

Someone with CCSP certification has gone through deep, specialized ccsp training to understand every nook and cranny of cloud security. They know how to build those digital walls, set up the right alarms, and make sure everything is running smoothly and securely. They’re the go-to person who can look at your cloud setup and say, “Here’s how we make this ironclad.”

A certified cloud security professional certification means they’ve proven their ability to manage and protect data, applications, and infrastructure in the cloud, no matter how complex.

How a CCSP Expert Delivers That Stress-Free Cloud Life:

  1. Building Unbreakable Digital Walls: Think of them as master builders for your digital fort. They know exactly how to set up super strong locks, scramble your data so no one can read it (that’s “encryption”), and put up invisible shields against cyber threats. This means your information is truly safe and sound, giving you genuine peace of mind.
  2. Navigating the Legal Maze: All those rules about keeping data private? They’re a big deal, and they change all the time. A certified cloud security expert understands these tricky rules inside out. They help your company play by the book, avoid huge fines, and earn your customers’ trust by showing you truly respect their personal information.
  3. Picking the Smartest Cloud Tools: The world of cloud services is like a massive digital supermarket, and it can feel totally overwhelming. A CCSP is like your personal shopping guide, helping you pick out the cloud tools and strategies that are not just shiny and effective, but also locked down tight. This means every dollar you spend on cloud tech actually delivers, safely and effectively.
  4. Sniffing Out Trouble Before It Brews: They’re like having a super-smart security guard who can see into the future! They’re constantly looking for hidden little gaps or loose ends in your systems before they turn into big, costly nightmares. This “fix it before it breaks” mindset saves you so much stress, keeps your cash in your pocket, and truly protects your company’s good reputation.
  5. Future-Proofing Your Digital World: The digital world moves at warp speed. New gadgets, new ways to connect, and unfortunately, new digital dangers pop up all the time. A CCSP is always learning, always one step ahead, ensuring your cloud stays rock-solid and ready for whatever tomorrow throws at it. Whether it’s through a focused ccsp bootcamp or a full ccsp course, they are always learning and adapting to keep you safe.

You might be thinking about the ccsp certification cost. But let’s put it this way: imagine the cost of a major data breach, a huge fine for breaking privacy rules, or losing your customers’ trust. Those numbers can be astronomically higher! So, investing in a CCSP professional (or becoming one yourself!) isn’t just an expense; it’s like buying the ultimate insurance policy for your business’s future and reputation.

Ready to Embrace a Stress-Free Cloud Future?

In today’s super-connected world, almost every business relies on the cloud in some way. Having someone who truly knows how to keep it safe isn’t just a bonus; it’s absolutely crucial. Whether you’re aiming to boost your own career or want your organization to have total digital peace of mind, becoming a CCSP is a powerful, game-changing step.

If you’re ready to ditch those cloud worries for real cloud confidence, it’s definitely time to check out world-class training that gets you ready for this super important, in-demand role.
