ED exGirlfriend Son Arrested For Money Changing

Major Money Laundering Ring Busted in Harare, Three Arrested

Harare, Zimbabwe — In a significant crackdown on illegal financial activities, Zimbabwean authorities have arrested three individuals linked to a major money laundering operation. The suspects, identified as Neville Sungurai Mutsvangwa (44), Ellas Majachani (45), and Simbarashe Tichingana (38), were arraigned before the Harare Magistrates’ Court, facing multiple charges related to illegal currency dealings and money laundering.

The trio is accused of operating an unlicensed money transfer service named Mumba Money Transfer since January 1, 2019. They allegedly bypassed regulatory frameworks, contravening both the Exchange Control Act and the Bank Use Promotion and Suppression of Money Laundering Act. The State claims the accused advertised their illicit services online, directing potential clients to their makeshift offices in Harare, and conducted transactions using both electronic funds transfers and physical cash, leveraging foreign bank accounts to obscure their illicit activities.

During the arrest on May 8, 2024, police seized extensive evidence from the suspects, including four smartphones, 45 SIM cards, four computers, a point-of-sale (POS) machine, 28 debit cards with 15 being VISA cards issued by foreign banks, three money counters, a register of transactions, and cash amounting to USD 3890.

The court proceedings took a dramatic turn as the State strongly opposed granting bail to the accused, citing the gravity of the charges and the evidence presented. The investigating officer was called to provide viva voce evidence, highlighting the intricate details of the operation. However, the hearing was adjourned mid-testimony, with the continuation of the bail hearing scheduled for Monday, May 13, 2024, at 08:30.

This case marks one of the most significant operations against money laundering in Zimbabwe in recent years and underscores the government’s increased efforts to combat financial crimes that have long plagued the nation.

Biti’s Oxygen Put Out As ED Moves to Remove Mafume

Lucia Matibenga Takes Charge of Harare City Council, Signaling Shift in Local Politics

By Farai D Hove | In a dramatic turn of events, Lucia Matibenga, a long-standing rival of Tendai Biti, has been appointed to oversee the embattled Harare City Council. This change comes as President Emmerson Mnangagwa initiates a commission of inquiry into the City of Harare’s management and council, marking a significant departure from Biti’s influence under ZANU PF’s shadow.

Chaired by retired judge Maphios Cheda and including opposition figure Matibenga, the commission is tasked with enhancing transparency and accountability in Harare’s governance. This move reflects a clear end to Tendai Biti’s dominance, which began to wane following his contentious actions against Ted Nelson Chamisa and his legislators post the 2023 elections. Biti had declared after the 2024 elections that Chamisa had “finished himself,” a sentiment echoed through the political maneuvers of Biti’s agent, Semgezo Tshabangu.

Matibenga’s appointment comes less than seven months after Biti, through Mayor Jacob Mafume, controlled the capital. Her entry is viewed as an attempt to stabilize and depoliticize the council’s management, which has been marred by allegations of mismanagement and corruption.

This political reshuffling aligns with a broader strategy by Emmerson Mnangagwa aimed at undermining the influence of all factions of the MDC. Mnangagwa has revealed that his policy is clear: “Every program of the MDC, it doesn’t matter which MDC it is, must be short-circuited, everything must be killed at Harvest House.” This statement underscores the administration’s intent to suppress any political challenge rising from the ranks of the MDC, ensuring ZANU PF retains control over key urban centers, including Harare.

As Lucia Matibenga steps into her new role, the people of Harare anticipate a governance model focused on integrity and service delivery, moving away from the politically charged atmosphere that has hindered the city’s progress. The broader implications of this development reflect Mnangagwa’s continued strategy to consolidate power while marginalizing opposition influences across Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

Govt Says Zimbabwe Has Enough Sugar

Zimbabwe Has Sufficient Sugar Supply and Excess for Export, Official Claims Amid Shortages

By Dorrothy Moyo | Amid ongoing concerns about sugar shortages in Zimbabwe, a senior official from the Zimbabwe Sugar Association Experiment Station has reassured the public that the country has an adequate supply of sugar cane to not only meet domestic needs but also to support exports. Dr. Washington Mutatu, a prominent senior agriculture and industrial research chemist at the association, delivered these remarks in an interview on Thursday.

Dr. Mutatu’s comments come at a critical time as consumers across Zimbabwe have faced visible shortages on supermarket shelves, sparking widespread anxiety about potential supply disruptions. “I think currently we are producing enough sugar cane to produce sugar which should be able to supply our domestic market and export. So consumers should not be worried about the availability of sugar, it’s actually available,” Dr. Mutatu stated, aiming to quell fears about ongoing sugar scarcity.

Despite Zimbabwe’s ranking as the world’s number 40 producer of sugar, the export of this vital commodity has been stifled by high production costs. Dr. Mutatu highlighted several factors contributing to these costs, including electricity, water, fertilizer, and labor expenses. “Our cost of production is very high, so as scientists we have to investigate ways and methods of reducing the cost of production,” he explained.

In an effort to mitigate these high costs and enhance profitability, Dr. Mutatu advocated for diversification in the sugar industry. He urged producers to explore the manufacture of additional by-products derived from sugar. “By expanding into products such as ethanol, fuels, and molasses, we can improve our revenue streams and ensure a more sustainable sugar industry in Zimbabwe,” he suggested.

The government’s reassurance through Dr. Mutatu’s insights aims to stabilize the market and restore consumer confidence as the nation grapples with these economic challenges. However, it remains to be seen how these strategies will unfold and address the complexities of the sugar market in Zimbabwe.

Is Tshabangu Living In Cartoonland?

By A Correspondent | ZimEye

In a surprising twist amid widespread criticism, Sengezo Tshabangu, the interim Secretary General of the controversial Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), has lauded Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa’s administration, describing it as superb. Tshabangu, who also serves as a Senator, urged the nation to embrace what he perceives as the strengths of the failing regime.

Speaking out on Monday, Tshabangu made a bold declaration, stating, “It’s high time we shift our focus on Unity, Peace, Transparency and of course Development. Zimbabwe is endowed with vast natural resources that will take us to the next step ahead.

I commend the progress being made at the Mbudzi Traffic Interchange, keep the ball rolling @MhonaFelix.”

Tshabangu’s unexpected praise for Mnangagwa’s administration flies in the face of mounting discontent and disillusionment among many Zimbabweans. With economic challenges, political unrest, and social instability plaguing the nation, Tshabangu’s stance represents a divergence from the prevailing narrative of dissatisfaction.

The endorsement of Mnangagwa’s regime by a prominent figure within the opposition ranks raises questions about the complexities of Zimbabwe’s political landscape.

While Tshabangu’s remarks may be seen as an attempt to foster unity and constructive engagement, they also highlight the nuanced dynamics at play within Zimbabwean politics.

Critics argue that Tshabangu’s characterization of Mnangagwa’s administration as superb overlooks the realities faced by ordinary Zimbabweans, including rampant inflation, unemployment, and a deteriorating standard of living.

However, Tshabangu’s call for a focus on unity and development underscores the need for dialogue and collaboration in addressing the nation’s challenges.

As Zimbabwe navigates a turbulent political and economic landscape, voices like Tshabangu’s serve as a reminder of the diverse perspectives and divergent opinions that shape the country’s trajectory.

Whether his stance will resonate with the broader populace or further deepen divisions remains to be seen.

Horror Bus Accident Involving Passion Java Stadium Crowd, Victims Seek Compensation

Attendees of Passion Java’s ‘Night of Wonders’ Involved in Accident

By Farai D Hove | ZimEye | In a somber turn of events amidst a night meant for miraculous encounters, several attendees of the eagerly anticipated ‘Night of Wonders,’ hosted by the prominent religious figure Passion Java, were involved in an accident. Details regarding the nature and cause of the accident remain unclear at this time.

Audios and correspondence have brought to light reactions from the community. Messages exchanged among attendees reveal a mix of gratitude and concern following the incident. One attendee expressed heartfelt thanks to a certain, “Prim” for supportive words, while regretting the unfortunate events that befell their fellows, saying, “Thank you elder Prim for the kind words, and we are very sorry for those who met with the accidents they encountered.”

Another message read, “Thank you for the soft and comforting voices of a broken heart,” indicating the emotional support circulating within the group in the face of adversity. Community solidarity was evident as members conveyed their readiness to continue their journey together, with another participant noting, “We thank you for your word, prim and gentle, without pride, we are not tired of walking amen amen.”

Mai Titi’s Husband Made To Pop Out ‘A Demon’ At Passion Java’s Empty Stadium Gig

Shock at National Sports Stadium as Mai Titi’s Husband “Halifaxes” Before Prophet Passion Java

By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye | In an evening that mixed controversy with spectacle, the National Sports Stadium was the scene of an unusual event last night as socialite Mai Titi’s husband was seen exhibiting bizarre behavior during a sparsely attended religious gathering hosted by the contentious psychic, Prophet Passion Java.

The event, which drew a smaller crowd than expected, became the center of attention not for its spiritual messages but for a peculiar incident involving Mai Titi, real name Felistas Murata, and her UK-based husband. Witnesses described a scene where, during a moment of heightened religious fervor, Murata’s husband suddenly collapsed in a dramatic fashion reminiscent of an incident involving Mai Titi at Heathrow Airport where she was compelled to surrender a Halifax Bank card.

As Prophet Passion Java called people forward to the stage for what was anticipated to be a routine prayer session, the atmosphere charged with an intense spiritual energy, attendees were taken aback when Murata’s husband, dressed in a stark white shirt, fell to the ground before the prophet, his actions caught vividly on camera.

Eyewitnesses and social media users quickly dubbed the incident as him “halifaxing,” a new slang term that refers to embarrassing oneself under public scrutiny, mirroring the humiliation Mai Titi experienced during her own airport ordeal.

The couple, seen earlier in the event with their hands lifted in worship, became the unintended highlight of the night. This incident adds another layer to the already controversial figure of Prophet Passion Java, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and polarizing religious practices.

Critics of the event are citing this as another example of the exploitative nature of some modern religious gatherings, questioning the psychological impacts on those who attend. Supporters of Java, however, see the event as a powerful spiritual demonstration.

As the community reacts to these unusual happenings, the debate over the role of modern prophets in Zimbabwe continues to intensify, with this latest episode likely to spark further discussions on social and religious norms in contemporary society.- ZimEye

Nick Mangwana Chastises ZACC For Arresting Without Credible Evidence

By A Correspondent| Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Nick Mangwana has castigated the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) for arrest of former Gokwe Nembudziya legislator, Mayor Wadyajena without adequate justification.

This followed the acquittal of Wadyajena and release of his haulage trucks which were impounded when he was arrested.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter ) Mangwana questioned ZACC’s failure to present credible evidence against Wadyajena when they caused his arrest.

“What was the evidence against Wadyajena again?” he asked.

Mangwana further questioned ZACC’s actions and investigation procedures which he said were flawed.

“Maybe the problem was not with the release, but with the catch,” he added.

ZACC has often come under criticism over the manner it is tackling corruption cases amid complaints that it is catching and releasing suspects.

Meanwhile, social media users have since criticised Mangwana for allegedly trying to shield corrupt individuals from accountability.

The arrest and subsequent release of Wadyajena have raised questions about the commission’s handling of high-profile cases and its relationship with the police and the judiciary.

Mangwana’s critique has added fuel to the fire, calling for greater accountability and transparency in the fight against corruption.

This comes after the High Court recently ordered the release of Wadyajena’s seized property, declaring the continued seizure as unlawful.

Meikles Hotel Sold To The Arab

By Business Reporter- Meikles Hotels has rebranded Hyatt Regency, with the new Arabic management announcing that the first phase is now complete.

The name change comes five years after the hotel’s acquisition by Albwardy, a hospitality company based in the United Arab Emirates, for a reported US$20 million.

Albwardy, renowned for its management of hotels under prestigious brands such as Four Seasons and Hyatt, made the decision to rebrand the five-star establishment, which has been an integral part of Harare’s hospitality landscape since its inception in 1915 by the Meikle brothers – John, Thomas, and Stewart.

The announcement of the name change has sparked mixed reactions among Zimbabweans, with many expressing nostalgia for the original name.

On social media platform X, user Felix Kamangira remarked, “It will always be Meikles, the same way Trade Center is still Jaggers.”

Another X user, Mutape weChimanimani, condemned the renaming as “sacrilege,” reflecting the sentimental attachment Zimbabweans have to the iconic hotel.

Despite the sentimentality associated with the former name, some are optimistic about the change. One X user expressed hope that the introduction of the Hyatt brand could restore the hotel’s former glory.

The rebranding of the hotel coincides with significant renovations, including a fresh coat of paint and other refurbishments aimed at enhancing the guest experience.

The Hyatt Regency Harare is poised to welcome its first distinguished guests in August, coinciding with the Southern African Development Community (SADC) summit, which will attract regional leaders to the capital.

Additionally, the hotel is expected to play a pivotal role in hosting cricket teams from around the world during the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, as Zimbabwe joins South Africa and Namibia in jointly hosting the prestigious event.

Zivhu Mocks Hungry Citizens

By A Correspondent|ZimEye

In a recent social media post, controversial Zanu PF member Killer Zivhu has sparked outrage by publicly ridiculing hungry citizens. The insensitive remarks made by Zivhu have drawn sharp criticism from the public, highlighting the growing disconnect between political elites and the everyday struggles faced by ordinary Zimbabweans.

Zivhu’s actions have stunned many, as he took to social media to boast about enjoying a lavish meal while mocking those who cannot afford such luxuries.

In a now-deleted post, Zivhu shared a picture of himself indulging in delicious food, accompanied by derogatory comments aimed at those who are struggling to make ends meet.

“Watodya lunch here? , nhaiwe kana wamwa mvura chete,” Zivhu boldly proclaimed, demonstrating a shocking lack of empathy and understanding towards the plight of hungry citizens.

The callousness displayed by Zivhu in his remarks has sparked widespread condemnation, with many expressing outrage and disgust at his insensitivity towards the struggles faced by ordinary Zimbabweans.

Social media platforms have been flooded with criticism directed at Zivhu, with users calling for accountability and an apology for his disparaging comments.

In response to the backlash, Zivhu has attempted to downplay the severity of his remarks, claiming that they were taken out of context. However, his attempts to backtrack have done little to quell the anger of the public, who view his comments as indicative of a broader disconnect between political elites and the realities of everyday life for ordinary citizens.

Speaking out against Zivhu’s remarks, one social media user stated, “It is disgraceful that a public figure would openly mock the struggles of hungry citizens.

This behavior is not only insensitive but also demonstrates a complete lack of empathy and understanding towards the hardships faced by many Zimbabweans.”

Another commenter expressed their disappointment, saying, “As a member of Zanu PF, Zivhu should be using his platform to uplift and support the people, not belittle and mock them. His actions are a betrayal of the trust placed in him by the citizens he claims to represent.”

The controversy surrounding Zivhu’s remarks serves as a stark reminder of the pressing need for political leaders to be more attuned to the needs and concerns of the people they serve.

Instead of mocking the struggles of hungry citizens, there is a clear imperative for leaders to work towards addressing the root causes of poverty and food insecurity, and to implement policies that uplift and empower all Zimbabweans.

In the face of adversity, it is crucial for citizens to stand together in solidarity and demand accountability from those in positions of power.

By holding individuals like Zivhu to account for their words and actions, we can strive towards a more just and equitable society for all.

Zoomers at the Helm: Why Companies Are Benefiting From Gen Z Leadership

By Philemon Jambaya| Move over Millennials, there’s a new generation shaking things up in the corporate world. Gen Z, once known for their social media habits, are now entering executive positions and bringing a fresh perspective to companies. This shift in leadership is proving advantageous for businesses looking to tap into the massive Gen Z consumer market and stay ahead of the curve.

Companies that embrace Gen Z leadership gain a unique advantage: the ability to understand the ever-evolving needs of younger consumers. Unlike their seasoned counterparts, Gen Z executives are less likely to be wedded to traditional methods, as Mikaeel Moti, Executive Director of Moti Group, explains: “They are less likely to accept ‘the way things are done’ and aren’t limited by the decades of rigid corporate structures that others were subjected to.” This can lead to innovative ideas and a more agile approach to marketing and branding strategies.

However, experience is still valuable. The ideal scenario involves collaboration between young executives with fresh perspectives and seasoned leaders who bring years of knowledge to the table. Moti credits the company’s growth to his collaboration with the CEO, a seasoned professional with decades of experience. “He brought with him a wealth of business experience and with his mentorship, I’ve been able to implement new structures that better align with the contemporary needs of our customers,” Moti says.

Gen Z practically grew up online, making them digital natives who understand the importance of a strong online presence. Having a Gen Z leader at the helm can ensure companies are effectively utilizing social media and digital tools to reach their target audience. Their technical expertise can also be a major asset in driving digital transformation across the organization, as the article highlights: “Born into the modern digital age, Gen Z places a far greater emphasis on online activity, and understands that the key to reaching this influential market segment is by speaking directly to them on the apps and websites they frequent every day.”

Millennials and Gen Z prioritize work-life balance, often rejecting traditional nine-to-five jobs and seeking flexible work arrangements. A Gen Z executive can understand this shift and advocate for policies like hybrid work options that benefit both employees and the company. Their perspective can be instrumental in guiding businesses towards a more modern and adaptable work environment.

The takeaway for businesses is clear: a balanced leadership team with representation from different generations is key to success in today’s market. Gen Z leaders bring innovation and digital fluency, while experienced executives offer wisdom and stability.

Businessman Ronald Nyandoro Back In Court On 23 May

By A Correspondent| Businessman Ronald Nyandoro is due back in court on May 23 for the ongoing trial regarding the alleged theft of a motor vehicle. The next witness, Lance Malloch Brown, is set to take the stand.

In the previous court session, tensions ran high as the complainant, John Landon, abruptly left the courtroom during Kirk Woest’s testimony. This departure came after Woest allegedly exposed Landon’s residence to the police.

During his testimony, Woest claimed that Landon was using the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) to target him for speaking truthfully about their business dealings. He expressed his belief that Landon was retaliating against him for disclosing the details of their transaction.

Woest informed the court that he had already suffered losses, with two cars seized by ZACC due to alleged issues with their documentation. He recounted a conversation with both Nyandoro and Landon, where they had mutually agreed to sell the vehicle in question.

Zimbabwean Loses Irish Asylum Bid

By Diplomatic Correspondent- A Zimbabwean National has lost an asylum claim he was seeking with the Irish government because of inconsistencies in his application.

The High Court in Ireland found the Zimbabwean national short of substantial grounds upon which to seek the judicial review of a finding made against him by the International Protection Appeals Tribunal (IPAT).

The Zimbabwean national left Zimbabwe in 2008 and moved to South Africa. He resided there for 14 years until March 2022 and then came to Ireland.

He sought international protection on 28 March 2022. He was interviewed, completed the application for international protection questionnaire and attended an interview with the International Protection Office on 20 October 2022.

He received the IPO decision on 24 January 2023 refusing him a refugee status declaration, a subsidiary protection declaration and permission to remain. He then lodged a notice of appeal on 10 February 2023.

However, The High Court has now found that the International Protection Appeals Tribunal was correct in its initial decision.

As part of his appeal process the Zimbabwean national claimed that he was in fear of ‘being found’ by the Zimbabwean Government and the ruling Zanu PF party due to the fact that he had posted critical anti-government comments on Twitter, although as the High Court observed, legal submissions submitted to the IPAT make reference to the man posting anti-government material  online in one sentence only.

The International Protection Office in its assessment of his application rejected his claim to a fear of being found on the basis that the applicant had also voluntarily disclosed on his LinkedIn account his personal details, including where he lived and worked in Zimbabwe and South Africa, that he was laid off from his job in South Africa in 2021 and that he was now resident in Ireland.

The IPO found that this publicly disclosed information undermined his claim that he was in fear of being found by Zanu PF or the Zimbabwean authorities in South Africa or elsewhere. The High Court agreed.

With respect to the applicants online posts on Twitter the High Court decision pointed to the fact that the Appellant’s Twitter account was not in his name and “there was no evidence  offered that anyone would know or be able to detect who was the author of the  tweets he posted using a pseudonym or that his accounts were seen or monitored by any Government officials, Zanu PF members or otherwise.”

Madam Boss’ Hubby Flying Out

Ngoni Munetsiwa, Husband of Madam Boss, Announces Departure from Zimbabwe After Vandalism

Harare, Zimbabwe- By Showbiz Reporter | ZimEye | In an unexpected development, Ngoni Munetsiwa, husband to the renowned Zimbabwean entertainer Tyra-Tarisai Chikoko, known as Madam Boss, has revealed plans to leave Zimbabwe. The announcement was made during a car ride in the capital on Friday, following a recent incident where Madam Boss’s car was vandalized.

During the drive, Munetsiwa expressed his confidence in his wife’s ability to handle adversity on her own. “I’m no longer afraid of leaving you, my wife, alone. I’ve got confidence in you. Because I trained you well. Other things you acquired from experience,” he said, praising her resilience and independence. He added, “You are well trained, and you cannot be forced to do anything. That is why I stood by you, helping you from behind, in the background for you to be strong.”

Munetsiwa’s decision to leave Zimbabwe seems tied to the criticism he has faced just as Mai Titi offloaded several days of death threats right up to the vandalism incident, which had prompted a flurry of public and media speculation on the identity of the unnamed assailants.

“Guys, I am leaving Zimbabwe. I’m going somewhere soon,” he announced, indicating that his departure was imminent. His speech included philosophical reflections on public perception and criticism, likening their situation to the biblical story of Job, who withstood severe trials.

This reference was a veiled swipe at Mai Titi (Felistas Murata), a competitor of Madam Boss, who spent the last week claiming that Munetsiwa could no longer travel abroad. By invoking the story of Job, Munetsiwa seemed to counter these allegations, emphasizing resilience in the face of adversity.

Mai Titi was also hurling death threats on the family.

In response to her husband’s announcement, Madam Boss thanked her in-laws for their role in shaping a wise and supportive partner. This expression of gratitude came during a discussion where the couple addressed their current challenges and future directions.

The decision for Munetsiwa to leave the country also serves as a pointed rebuttal to Mai Titi’s claims about his so called travel restrictions. By moving abroad, Munetsiwa directly challenges these assertions, underlining his ability to travel freely and manage his own affairs independently of the controversies surrounding them. This move may well reset public and media narratives, shifting focus back to his autonomy and resilience amidst ongoing personal challenges. Fans and commentators within the Zimbabwean entertainment scene are closely watching the unfolding events, awaiting further updates as the couple maneuvers through this challenging time.- ZimEye

Another Woman Claims Impregnated By Tuku

By Showbiz Reporter – Rosie Makumbe, a local woman, has come forward with claims that the late music icon Oliver Mtukudzi is the father of her child.

In her revelation, Makumbe, aged 69, points to the lyrics of Tuku’s hit song “Hazvireve Rudo Handina,” where she believes the late megastar refers to “our son Aaron.”

Recalling their past, Makumbe asserts that Mtukudzi was the love of her life, and the memories of their time together remain vivid in her mind.

In an interview with H-Metro, Makumbe revealed that Tuku’s influence on her was so profound that she chose not to engage in any other romantic relationships after their affair ended, resulting in her having only one child.

Makumbe also disclosed her familial connection to Jack Sadza, Tuku’s late friend and manager, whose tragic death inspired one of Tuku’s greatest hits, “Jeri.”

Expressing her only remaining battle, Makumbe emphasized her determination to secure the necessary documentation proving her son’s lineage to the Samanyanga clan, urging Tuku’s relatives to assist in this endeavour.

Aaron, born in 1979, shares his alleged father’s passion for music, adding another layer to Makumbe’s claims.

Recounting her relationship with the legendary musician, Makumbe reminisced about their romantic escapades and the fond memories they shared, including Tuku’s gestures of affection and support.

Despite her efforts to involve Tuku in the process of obtaining a birth certificate for Aaron during his lifetime, Makumbe revealed challenges, with Tuku citing busyness as a barrier.

She recounted Tuku’s desire to impart musical skills to their son and his attempts to facilitate Aaron’s learning under the guidance of musician Alick Macheso.

However, Makumbe lamented that these plans were interrupted due to personal tragedies, including the illness and subsequent death of Aaron’s wife.

As Makumbe continues her quest to establish her son’s lineage, her claims add another chapter to the complex legacy of the late Oliver Mtukudzi.

Java Addresses Empty Stadium As His Zanu PF Gig Flops

By Political reporter – Controversial prophet and self-proclaimed Zanu PF supporter, Passion Java, found himself addressing a deserted stadium on Thursday evening during what was supposed to be a politically charged religious event termed Night of Wonders.

Held at the National Sports Stadium, the highly Zanu PF advertised affair failed to draw the anticipated crowd, leaving only Java and a handful of companions occupying the stage and podium.

Prior to the event, Zanu PF used its social media platforms and state broadcaster ZBC to rally its Harare district structures, urging party loyalists to attend the gathering.

Despite these efforts, the turnout fell drastically short of expectations.

Java had confidently proclaimed that the stadium, with its 60,000 seating capacity, would be packed to the brim.

However, his optimism was met with disappointment as the venue remained largely vacant.

A leaked message attributed to Zanu PF Harare Zone coordinator Joshua Gore revealed directives to district chairpersons to ensure full attendance at Java’s event.

“All district chairpersons in Zone 6 are required to mobilize all members (munhu wese hake) to attend the church program being hosted by Evangelist Passion Java,” stated the notice.

Confirming the party’s involvement, Nico Hamadziripi, Zanu PF’s secretary for transport in the area, affirmed that arrangements had been made to ferry supporters to the event. “Java is an active party cadre, and we should support him,” he added.

Despite attempts to reach him for comment, Java remained inaccessible, neither responding to calls nor text messages.

However, he took to his official Facebook page to urge attendance, proclaiming, “Whether you have HIV, you need money, or you have a broken leg, come to Night of Wonders.”

Investigations by reporters uncovered a widespread mobilization effort, with buses arranged across the country to transport Zanu PF supporters to the stadium.

“Yes, we were hired to ferry people from Mutare for the church service slated for National Sports Stadium,” confirmed a transport operator.

In a bid to drum up attendance, vehicles throughout the city now bear colourful advertisements promoting the event, featuring Java bathed in celestial light alongside the bold text, Night of Wonders.

Java’s history of provocative behaviour, including his vocal support for President Emmerson Mnangagwa during election campaigns, has often courted controversy.

However, his failure to draw a substantial crowd to the stadium raises questions about the extent of his influence and support within both religious and political circles.

Wicknell Chivayo’s Cellphone Number

By Showbiz Reporter |  ZimEye | The pursuit of obtaining someone’s phone number transcends the simple act of making a call—it opens doors to potential fortunes and privileged circles, especially when that number belongs to someone as prominent as Wicknell Chivayo. Known for his controversial business dealings and flamboyant lifestyle, Chivayo has captured the imagination of many young Zimbabweans who see him as a gateway to a life of luxury.

This surge in interest is evidenced by the myriad requests flooding our inbox, with individuals desperate to gain a direct line to Chivayo, who was the closest confidant of the late Genius Kadungure, famously known as Ginimbi. Despite his past business failings, such as the notorious Gwanda solar project debacle in 2015, Chivayo remains a figure of significant intrigue due to his extravagant displays of wealth and his promises of providing lavish lifestyles to others.

His best friend, Ginimbi himself was a master at crafting an image of opulence and success. Known for his lavish parties and fleet of luxury cars, he became a symbol of the high life in Zimbabwe. In one of his most famous video tours, Ginimbi would flaunt his possessions with a casual grandeur. “This is my house, but it is one of my houses. I live in 3 countries,” he would declare, as the camera panned across his expensive vehicles. “So I know you guys cars excite you? I’ve got a lot of the cars and some of the cars they are in South Africa. Because I’m a resident of South Africa. Some of the cars are in Botswana. I’ve got a house in Botswana and businesses in Botswana as well.”

Each vehicle had a story. The Mercedes ML 63, untouched by him and designated for security, the Range Rover SVR in gleaming white, the Rolls Royce Ghost he dubbed the finest in Zimbabwe, not to mention the Bentley Bentayga he affectionately called Bhuru, and the Rolls Royce Wraith reserved for special town functions. “This Range Rover, if you are at the back, you feel like you’re in First Class. What it does at the back, it’s amazing,” Ginimbi boasted, highlighting not just the car’s features but the lifestyle it represented.

Yet, the glittering world Ginimbi showcased came with its dark twists. His untimely death in a fiery car crash that also killed several others, including his girlfriend Moana Amuli and guests from Malawi and Mozambique, was a stark reminder of the potential perils that can accompany such a fast-paced, high-stakes life. This tragic incident highlighted the impermanence and vulnerability hidden beneath the veneer of wealth and excess.

Despite these risks, or perhaps because of the intrigue they add to his legend, the allure of Chivayo’s world remains undiminished. ZimEye has engaged with numerous youths who see Chivayo not just as a wealthy individual but as a mentor who could potentially usher them into a similarly glamorous existence. Just two days ago, a hopeful caller shared his belief that Chivayo could help empower him through his alleged fuel business in Lesotho, illustrating the ongoing hope that connection to Chivayo could be transformative.

The continuous inquiries into Chivayo’s contact details reveal a broader societal fascination with wealth and the lengths to which individuals will go to secure a piece of it. In a country facing economic challenges, the dream of a luxurious, secure life can be overwhelmingly seductive.

As this narrative unfolds, one must ponder: what is it about Chivayo and his late friend that captivates so many? Is it the sheer spectacle of their wealth, the promised escape from daily struggles, or the human desire to be part of something grand, even if it skirts the edges of danger?

Killer Zivhu Dumps Beer For The Bible

By Political Reporter-Former Zanu PF Chivi South legislator Killer Zivhu has announced his decision to become a pastor.

Zivhu told the state media that he wanted to be a pastor before he became a politician.

“I never wanted to be a politician. I wanted to be a preacher because I am gifted as a preacher.

“But I told myself and told my friends that I cannot be a preacher until I become rich.

“I don’t want to go and become desperate as a pastor out there, soliciting money from people and telling people that God has sent me to do this.

“But, honestly, if I start preaching today, I’m telling you that, after six months, my church will be bigger than most of these guys that you see.”

He said his friends were relentless until they convinced him to be a politician.

“My friends then came to me and said, look, you have a gift. So, if you don’t want to be a preacher now, why don’t you be a politician?

“You can address people, they can understand you. So, in 2000, I tested it when I was young, and automatically I became a councillor.

“That’s when I got into politics, as you know, it’s a dirty game, but it’s so interesting, you know, the scuffles, the factionalism, the fights and everything, it’s so sweet, you see.

“So, even when I was chased away from Parliament, it’s not something that touched me a lot.”

Zivhu said politics was a game he understood a lot as there were many ups and downs, wins and losses.

“You lose today, you win tomorrow, you go, you come back, you go, you come back.

“This was a second thought, it will never be my first thought.

“My first thought is to help people and to preach and I’m now ready to go into the field to preach.

“I’m now ready to enrol as a pastor, I’m ready to leave Castle Lite and become a dedicated pastor because I will go out there to preach as an evangelist because I don’t need anyone’s money.”

He, however, said he would not form a church.

“No, no, no I will just be an evangelist going around and preaching.

“I have seen a lot of dangers of having a particular church because when you have a particular church you want it to grow, you end up wanting to have more powers, so that more people come, and then these extra powers, you go to Ghana, you go to Nigeria because you want to extend powers.

“No, I don’t want to have a particular church. I want to move around preaching the word of God.

“If I preach and people give their life to God, then I will submit them to already existing churches to shepherd those people.”

Chamisa Speaks On Country’s Leadership Crisis

By A Correspondent|ZimEye

Opposition leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa has raised concerns over what he perceives as a significant deficiency in the country’s leadership.

In a poignant statement made on Wednesday, Advocate Chamisa addressed what he described as a concerning trend in leadership roles within Zimbabwe, likening it to a form of societal malnutrition, specifically referring to kwashiorkor, a severe form of malnutrition affecting children.

Advocate Chamisa declared :
“The Leader is a Servant, Not a Master…”

Advocate Chamisa’s statement encapsulates a powerful message about the fundamental nature of leadership. He emphasizes the principle that leadership is fundamentally about service and enabling others. “To lead is to serve. To serve is to enable. A leader is a servant. A servant is an enabler,” he expressed.

Leadership, in his view, should not be about wielding power for personal gain or control, but rather about empowering and facilitating progress within the community. He highlights the various positions of authority, including the presidency, ministerial roles, parliamentary positions, and civil service, as opportunities for individuals to make a positive impact by enabling those they serve.

“Great leaders enable those whom they serve,” Chamisa emphasized, underlining the importance of leaders fostering an environment conducive to growth and development for all.

Advocate Chamisa’s words echo a sentiment that transcends political boundaries and speaks to a universal ideal of leadership.

Regardless of political affiliation or ideology, the concept of servant leadership resonates as a timeless principle that guides effective governance and societal progress.

In calling for a paradigm shift towards servant leadership, Advocate Chamisa issues a challenge to those in positions of power to reassess their roles and responsibilities.

He emphasizes that true leadership lies not in the accumulation of authority, but in the ability to uplift and empower others.

As Zimbabwe continues to navigate its path forward, Advocate Chamisa’s message serves as a reminder of the transformative potential of leadership rooted in service and empathy.

It underscores the need for leaders to prioritize the well-being and advancement of their constituents above all else, fostering a culture of inclusivity and collective prosperity.

In the face of ongoing challenges, Advocate Chamisa’s call for servant leadership offers a beacon of hope and a blueprint for building a brighter future for Zimbabwe and its people.

“When one serves as President, Minister, Member of Parliament, councillor, civil servant or in any public office, one must enable not disable.”

“Great leaders enable those whom they serve. #LeadersServe #ForEveryone.”

Mthuli Ncube Grilled Over ZiG

By A Correspondent|ZimEye

In a heated exchange within the hallowed halls of Parliament, Norton MP Richard Tsvangirai took Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube to task over President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s apparent disdain for the newly introduced Zimbabwe Gold currency (ZiG).

The confrontation, which unfolded on Monday, May 6, 2024, during a session of the Parliament committee on budget, finance, and investment promotion, shed light on the challenges facing the implementation of ZiG in Zimbabwe.

Tsvangirai minced no words as he questioned the feasibility of ZiG in light of Mnangagwa’s very public endorsement of the US dollar, a move that, according to Tsvangirai, undermines confidence in the local currency.

He pointed to images circulating on social media showing Mnangagwa ostentatiously displaying USD notes, a sight that could deter citizens from embracing ZiG.

“The Minister of Finance appeared before the Parliament committee on budget, finance, and investment promotion on Monday, May 6, 2024, to deliberate on issues in connection with the recent monetary policy that birthed the structured currency ZiG,” Tsvangirai stated, setting the stage for his interrogation of Minister Ncube.

Central to Tsvangirai’s line of questioning was the accessibility of essential goods and services in the local currency, particularly fuel and passports.

He demanded clarity from Minister Ncube on how the government planned to instill confidence in ZiG when high-ranking officials flaunted foreign currency in public settings.

“I questioned the MOF on fuel and passports not being accessible in the local currency and how he was going to foster confidence in the local currency when the head of state was flashing and parading USD’s in public,” Tsvangirai reiterated, underscoring the urgency of addressing the disconnect between government policy and public perception.

Minister Ncube, for his part, attempted to assuage concerns by reaffirming the government’s commitment to ZiG and outlining measures to promote its adoption.

However, Tsvangirai’s pointed inquiries underscored broader skepticism regarding the efficacy of ZiG in an economic landscape plagued by instability and mistrust.

The clash between Tsvangirai and Minister Ncube epitomizes the multifaceted challenges confronting Zimbabwe’s monetary policy reforms.

While ZiG represents a bold attempt to restore confidence in the nation’s currency, its success hinges not only on governmental support but also on public perception and economic realities.

As Zimbabwe navigates this complex terrain, robust dialogue and accountability will be essential in charting a path toward sustainable financial stability.

“ANC Getting Coached By ZANU To Rig SA Elections?”

Johannesburg – Mmusi Maimane, the leader of Build One SA (Bosa), expressed grave concerns regarding the relationship between South Africa’s African National Congress (ANC) and Zimbabwe’s ruling party, Zanu-PF. His comments follow a revelation by ANC representative Nomvula Mokonyane during an SABC interview, where she confirmed that the ANC had invited Zanu-PF to campaign on their behalf, underscoring a deep-seated “fraternal relationship” between the two parties.

Mokonyane highlighted the mutual benefits of this partnership, stating, “They will learn from us as we have learnt from them, and they would also be part of the observer missions invited by the ANC.” She elaborated on the importance of liberation movements drawing lessons from each other, particularly in navigating the agenda of “regime change.”

However, Maimane criticized the ANC’s decision to engage with Zanu-PF, arguing that the only lessons to be learned from Zimbabwe’s ruling party involve electoral manipulation and suppression of democratic freedoms. “My worry is that they will teach [the ANC] how to censor media, rig elections, and threaten the opposition,” Maimane stated, indicating that such influences could jeopardize South Africa’s democratic integrity.

The Build One SA leader described the ANC-Zanu-PF relationship as “disturbing,” especially given the ANC’s history of quiet diplomacy towards Zimbabwe, which he believes has failed the Zimbabwean people. “If Zanu-PF continues to have influence on the ANC, we will no longer have free and fair elections,” Maimane added, suggesting that such influences could extend to corrupt campaign financing.

Reflecting on the broader implications of Zimbabwean politics on South Africa, Maimane blamed the enduring regional instability and migration issues on flawed electoral practices in Zimbabwe, which he traced back to the controversial aftermath of the 2007 elections.

As tensions mount with the upcoming elections, the scrutiny of the ANC’s affiliations with historically controversial parties like Zanu-PF suggests a critical juncture for both South African democracy and regional stability in Southern Africa.

Tshabangu Desperately Licks Mnangagwa Boots

Nurse Fatally Attacked at Her Doorstep

In a harrowing incident that has shaken the community of Buhera, a nurse was fatally stabbed right at her doorstep on the evening of April 28. Ivy Mangwanya, a 40-year-old nurse who was employed at Nerutanga Clinic, became the victim of a brutal attack that has left the local residents in shock and mourning.

Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, the acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, confirmed to the Manica Post the details of this tragic event. According to Assistant Inspector Chinyoka, Ms. Mangwanya had just returned from a trip to Masvingo when she was accosted by an unknown assailant who attacked her with a sharp object, targeting her throat.

The perpetrator then robbed her of a Vodacom cellphone along with a bag filled with various articles of clothing before fleeing the scene, leaving Ms. Mangwanya to tragically bleed to death. “The suspect snatched a Vodacom cellphone and a bag containing various clothes and vanished from the scene, leaving the victim to bleed to death,” Chinyoka described, highlighting the brutal nature of the attack.

In a minor yet poignant discovery, a bag suspected to be Ms. Mangwanya’s was later found with some clothes still inside it, suggesting a hurried discard by the assailant. This clue has sparked a manhunt as the local law enforcement, led by Assistant Inspector Chinyoka, intensifies efforts to capture the criminal responsible for this heinous crime.

The deceased’s body was promptly transported to Murambinda Mission Hospital where a post-mortem examination was conducted to further investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

The police have issued an appeal to the public, urging anyone with information related to the attack or the whereabouts of the suspect to come forward. “The suspect is still at large, and we are appealing to the public with information pertaining to the whereabouts of the unknown suspect to report to any nearest police station,” stated Assistant Inspector Chinyoka.

This incident has cast a shadow over the community, especially among healthcare professionals who often travel long distances to serve in rural clinics. The tragic loss of Ms. Mangwanya not only highlights the dangers they face but also the need for increased security measures in remote areas.

As the investigation continues, the community remains hopeful that justice will be served for Ivy Mangwanya, whose life was cut tragically short in such a brutal and senseless manner.

Joselu Rescues Los Blancos

By A Correspondent|ZimEye

Former Stoke City striker Joselu emerged as the hero for Real Madrid, securing a stunning late double to seal a 2-1 comeback victory over Bayern Munich. With this win, Real Madrid advances to the Champions League final with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.

Bayern Munich, under Thomas Tuchel’s guidance, seemed destined for the Wembley final as they held a lead until the 88th minute, courtesy of Alphonso Davies’ second-half goal.

However, Manuel Neuer, who had made four outstanding saves earlier in the match, surprisingly spilled Vinicius Junior’s shot into Joselu’s path, allowing him to equalize.

With the Santiago Bernabeu crowd urging them on, and despite Harry Kane being substituted off by Tuchel, Joselu seized the moment by converting Antonio Rudiger’s cross from close range in the 91st minute.

The goal stood after a VAR review overturned a tight offside call against the forward.

Bayern Munich Boss Fumes Over Loss

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel says the decision from officials to stop play before his side scored an injury-time equaliser against Real Madrid “feels like a betrayal”.

The Bavarians crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday night, after losing 2-1 in the second leg and conceded the tie 4-3 on aggregate.

The visitors could have secured a late equaliser through Matthijs de Ligt but the assistant referee’s flag was already raised for offside when the Dutchman struck home from the inside of the box.

Television replays showed the original decision may not have been offside and would have needed to be checked by video assistant referee [VAR].

However, VAR was unable to intervene and award the goal, as play had already stopped.

Tuchel told TNT Sports after the match: “There was a disastrous decision from the linesman and the referee [Poland’s Szymon Marciniak].

“It feels like a betrayal in the end. There was a huge fight, we left everything on the pitch and we were almost there. Now we say congratulations to Real Madrid.

“The linesman says sorry but that does not help. To raise the flag in a moment like this… The referee sees we get the second ball and we get the shot – it’s a very, very bad decision. It’s against the rules. It’s a disaster. It’s hard to swallow but that’s the way it is.”

Real Madrid will face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley Stadium in London, England on 1 June.

ZIFA Shuts Down Magaya’s Stadium For Not Having Toilets

By Sports Reporter- The Zimbabwe Football Association has temporarily suspended the controversial preacher Walter Magaya’s Heart Stadium from hosting Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) matches for lacking public toilets.

The FIB is responsible for inspecting football stadiums across the country and assesses the facilities’ safety, infrastructure, and compliance with relevant regulations.

Magaya’s Stadium has no ablution facilities since its homologation in March.

A stadium must also have water and other sanitary requirements for it to be fit for public use.

“Sanitary facilities should be provided for a range of needs, including at least one accessible cubicle within all large WC blocks along with low-level urinals, WCs and hand basins to cater for those of short stature,” a FIFA instructive document seen by ZimEye reads.

Magaya fooled President Emmerson Mnangagwa into officially opening the Stadium early this year.

Before this, ZIFA had advised Magaya first to solve the ablution facility, but he ignored this requirement and used his proximity to the President to bypass that requirement.

At the time of the official opening, Magaya said he had plans to host the Zimbabwe Warriors matches, but all that seems to have been lip service from the disgraced Man-of-God to fool Mnangagwa.

Heart Stadium has been without public toilets since its homologation in March.

The Stadium relied on hiring mobile toilets, which was overwhelming on matchdays.

Heart’s temporary suspension has forced the home team, Yadah, to use Rufaro Stadium as their new home ground.

The Miracle Boys are set to host CAPS United on Saturday at Rufaro stadium, making the ceremonial home of football the only venue to use as home ground for all four Harare-based topflight league teams.

Stadium crisis is one of the major problems in the country.

Currently, Zimbabwe does not have a CAF-approved facility which can be used for any international football game.

About Climate Change Adaptation

In a recent statement by Tshikovha Green and Climate Change Advocates Pty Ltd director, Moudy Mudzielwana, a glaring issue was brought to light: the disproportionate attention given to football compared to climate change adaptation.

Mudzielwana expressed disappointment in the prioritization of sports over essential global issues, emphasizing the urgent need for a shift in focus.

“Football, the world’s No. 1 sport, is not No. 1 when it comes to development,” Mudzielwana remarked.

This sentiment reflects the pervasive trend where resources and attention are disproportionately allocated to entertainment rather than critical matters like environmental preservation and climate change adaptation.

The statement underscores a critical reality: while football may captivate millions, it does little to address the existential threat posed by climate change.

Mudzielwana highlighted the alarming lack of investment and support for initiatives aimed at understanding the value of the natural environment and mitigating human actions that contribute to its degradation.

“It is worse in the field of environmental management and climate change adaptation, which are more important than anything else in the world,” Mudzielwana emphasized.

This assertion serves as a wake-up call, urging society to reevaluate its priorities and allocate resources where they are most urgently needed.

Tshikovha Green and Climate Change Advocates Pty Ltd is at the forefront of efforts to bridge this gap.

By investing in the education and training of graduates to recognize the value of environmental stewardship, they are paving the way for a more sustainable future.

Their commitment to nurturing a new generation of leaders who understand the critical importance of climate change adaptation is commendable.

As the global community grapples with the escalating impacts of climate change, it is imperative that we heed the call to action put forth by advocates like Mudzielwana.

The time for complacency is over; we must prioritize climate change adaptation with the same fervor and dedication that is often reserved for sports and entertainment.

In conclusion, the statement by Tshikovha Green and Climate Change Advocates Pty Ltd serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need to reevaluate societal priorities.

Climate change adaptation must take precedence over trivial pursuits, and it is incumbent upon all of us to support initiatives that safeguard the future of our planet.

Tsvangirai Grills Mthuli Ncube Over Mnangagwa’s Rejection of ZiG

We Don’t Pay Mediocre Work, Government Tells Fossil Contracting Over Lorraine Drive

By A Correspondent| Transport Minister Felix Mhona has issued a directive for Fossil Contracting to rectify mediocre work done on the recently surfaced Lorraine Drive in Harare’s Bluff Hill area.

The road’s rapid deterioration has sparked outrage among taxpayers, with complaints arising barely two months after its completion.

Speaking during a Question and Answer session in the National Assembly yesterday, Minister Mhona acknowledged the failure of the road and declared that the contractor would not receive payment until the situation is rectified.

‘The issue has garnered significant attention in recent weeks due to the road’s dismal performance. The ministry has summoned the contractor, who has also admitted to the road’s failure,’ stated Minister Mhona.

‘However, in line with the principles of accountability and quality assurance upheld by the Second Republic, payment will not be issued for substandard work. We have instructed the contractor to address the deficiencies in the road and to rectify any failures in the materials or construction process,’ he added.

Fossil has been tasked with rehabilitating the stretch of road from the main Post Office in the city centre to the Westgate roundabout as part of the National Harare/Chirundu Road Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project.

Mutsvangwa Explodes Over Son’s Arrest

By A Correspondent |ZimEye

Women Affairs Minister Monica Mutsvangwa has spoken out vehemently against what she perceives as a targeted attack on her family following the recent arrest of her son, Neville, for alleged involvement in illegal foreign currency trading.

The arrest, which occurred yesterday, has ignited controversy, with Mutsvangwa asserting that her son is innocent and suggesting that there may be ulterior motives behind the timing of the arrest while she was away.

In a leaked audio clip circulating on social media, Mutsvangwa can be heard expressing her belief that the arrest is politically motivated, insinuating that individuals within the system are deliberately targeting her family.

She maintains her son’s innocence, stating, “It’s definitely political victimisation because my son doesn’t trade in foreign currency, doesn’t trade in ZiG.”

However, despite Mutsvangwa’s defense of her son, reports suggest that Neville Mutsvangwa is known to engage in foreign currency trading, particularly in exchanging US dollars for South African Rands through Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) transactions.

The incident underscores the intersection of politics and personal affairs within Zimbabwe, with accusations of political targeting adding fuel to an already contentious situation.

As the controversy unfolds, questions remain regarding the motivations behind Neville Mutsvangwa’s arrest and the broader implications for the Mutsvangwa family within the political landscape of Zimbabwe.

Bayern Munich Boss Claims Team Robbed

Chamisa Bemoans Country’s Leadership Kwashiorkor

Wealth Built On Fraud: Simba Bhora Owner Slapped With A US$3 Million Lawsuit

By A Correspondent| Brighton Ushendibaba, director of Pan Jap motors, director and sponsor of Premier Soccer League outfit Simba Bhora is facing a US$3 Million lawsuit from a prominent Harare car dealer Walter Musengezi over an alleged motor vehicle fraud.

Musengezi accused Ushendibaba and his two companies which he owns; Pan Jap Motors and Forltune Investments (Pvt) Ltd of conning him his high-end vehicles.

The brief facts of the suit are that sometime around 2018, Ushendibaba approached Musengezi under the proposal that he was going to sell his high-end vehicles without storage fee.

Musengezi gave the Pan Jap boss 19 high-end vehicles to sell.

The vehicles included Range Rovers, Mercedes GLEs and Toyota Land Cruisers.

After selling the vehicles, Ushendibaba refused to pay Musengezi.

Musengezi indicated in his papers filed with the High Court: Commercial division, that Musengezi has not been paid a single cent from the deal.

Ushendibaba also had proposed that the two tycoons venture into the gold buying business.

Musengezi states that he gave Pan Jap US$ 221 000.00 (Two Hundred and Twenty-one Thousand United States Dollars) for the relevant licenses; permits and as well as the starting capital for the business.

Ushendibaba has strong ties with controversial businessman and Mabvuku legislator Scott Sakupwanya.

Musengezi further states the amount is still outstanding and no explanation has been offered by Ushendibaba on when he hopes to pay him.

Musengezi has not left a stone unturned in his quest to recover what is owed to him by dragging his erstwhile legal practitioner Tawanda Takaindisa of TK Takaindisa Law Chambers.

The lawyer has been called out for being unprofessional and unethical.

The lawyer, over the period stretching 4 years, has not been protecting his client’s best interests.

Allegations are that, Ushendibaba connived with the lawyer in a bid to thwart all hopes for the recovery of the monies owed.

It is alleged that Takaindisa has been on Ushendibaba’s pay roll and has altered a number of Musengezi’s documents to please and further the interests of the the paymaster.

Musengezi has already filed a complaint against his lawyer to the the Law Society of Zimbabwe.

Musengezi has also dragged business tycoon, Kudakwashe Tagwirei accusing him of purchasing the most vehicles.

According to papers filed by Musengezi, Ushendibaba has refused to pay him on the suspicious defence that Tagwirei has not paid for the vehicles.

The Defendants are yet to file their defence to the claim.

It has since emerged that Musengezi is out of the country after receiving threats of unspecified actions from Ushendibaba and Takaindisa.

Magaya Sells Dummy To Mnangagwa

By Sports Reporter- The Zimbabwe Football Association has exposed the controversial preacher Walter Magaya for fooling President Emmerson Mnangagwa into officially opening a football stadium without official ablution facilities.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa officially opened Magaya’s Heart Stadium early this year.

“Sanitary facilities should be provided for a range of needs, including at least one accessible cubicle within all large WC blocks along with low-level urinals, WCs and hand basins to cater for those of short stature,” a FIFA instructive document seen by ZimEye reads.

ZiG Trading Arrested Mutsvangwa Son Also Has Rape Cases

By Political Reporter- Zanu PF spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa’s son Neville, who was arrested yesterday for trading ZiG with US Dollars, is notorious for money-changing deals and rape cases, it has emerged.

Neville was arrested yesterday at his Mt Pleasant home in Harare by detectives from the CID commercial crimes unit on allegations of contravening the Exchange Control Act by illegally trading in foreign currency.

On his WhatsApp status on Monday, Neville posted a message stating “18.75”, which was interpreted by some as an advertisement for the street rate for the ZiG to the United States dollar.

Some reports suggest that the post triggered Mutsvangwa’s arrest.

His mother, Monica, the Women’s Affairs minister, has defended him, connecting the arrest to Zanu PF factionalism.

In audio circulating on social media platforms, Monica is heard saying the charges were cooked up.

This is not the first time Neville has made headlines for the wrong reasons.

He was twice arrested for sexual offences.

In the first instance, he allegedly raped a woman in Harare, and in the second instance, he allegedly tried to rape a second woman in Mutare. He was never convicted.

In 2019, police raided Neville’s office at 3 Sanfenand Flats on Fife Avenue in Harare, where he was allegedly conducting illegal foreign currency deals. He was away but police found US$200,000.

Four detectives allegedly conspired with Mutsvangwa’s workers to under-declare the money found on the premises by seizing US$40,000 instead of the full amount.

It was alleged that by the time they got to the police station, the money had gone down to US$20,000. The four detectives were subsequently arrested for the theft of US$20,000.

Neville was also recently accused of undermining government policy after selling Starlink units in Zimbabwe despite a POTRAZ ban.

Magaya Lied To Mnangagwa About His Heart Stadium

By A Correspondent| The ZIFA’s First Instance Board has exposed controversial preacher Walter Magaya for fooling President Emmerson Mnangagwa to officially open a football stadium without ablution facilities.

Magaya’s Heart Stadium was officially opened by President Emmerson Mnangagwa early this year.

At the time of the official opening, Magaya said he had plans to host the Zimbabwe Warriors matches but all that seems to have been lip service from the disgraced Man-of-God to fool Mnangagwa.

The Miracle Boys are set to host CAPS United on Saturday at Rufaro stadium, making the ceremonial home of football the only venue to use as home ground for all four Harare-based topflight league teams namely Dynamos, Caps United, Yadah FC and Innocent Benza owned Herentals FC.

Stadium crisis is one of the major problems in the country, currently, Zimbabwe does not have a CAF-approved facility which can be used for any international football game.

“Sanitary facilities should be provided for a range of needs, including at least one accessible cubicle within all large WC blocks along with low-level urinals, WCs and hand basins to cater for those of short stature,” a FIFA instructive document seen by ZimEye reads.

Other stadiums that have previously hosted Premier Soccer League matches include National Sports Stadium and Gwanzura Stadium in Highfield.

National Sports Stadium is expected to undergo major improvements to meet FIFA standards so that it can host International matches.

Currently Zimbabwe Warriors will be forced to host international matches on foreign soil while the Sports and Recreation Commission sorts out the stadium issue.

Their last matches were hosted in Rwanda.

Luck Runs Out For UK Based Zimbabwean Man With A Staggering 68 Convictions

A Zimbabwean man Ashley Simbarashe who is living in the United Kingdom as an asylum seeker has racked up a staggering 68 convictions across several countries.

A United Kingdom court heard the 34-year-old thug arrived in the UK in 2017 and quickly became involved in serious crimes including drugs, robbery and assault.

Despite his appalling criminal record he was granted leave to remain in the country two months ago.

This week he appeared at Northampton Crown Court where he was jailed for possession of a weapon.

CCTV operators spotted two men behind a row of shops in Gainsborough Road, Corby, Northants., at 1.50am on February 16 this year.

Maparura was carrying a hammer and his accomplice Reece Cruickshank was holding a wrench.

The operators followed the men on their screens as they “caused a commotion” before running away.

The pair were later arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery but the victim refused to co-operate so they were charged with possession of offensive weapons.

They admitted the charges and Maparura, of Northampton, was jailed for one year and four months. Cruickshank will be sentenced later this month.

Sentencing Maparura, Judge Rupert Mayo said: “The courts take very seriously any public display of weapons when they’re brandished or used to present a threat to people who are out and about.”

“You have a dreadful record for using weapons.”

“You have been an asylum seeker since your arrival from Zimbabwe and I am glad that you have now been allowed to remain in this country but during that time you have amassed a huge amount of antecedents and have been gripped by drugs.”

“This is a dreadful catalogue of serious convictions.”

The court heard Maparura’s staggering list of crimes include being caught with heroin and cocaine which were tied to his genitals.

Carrie-Ann Garness, prosecuting, said police stopped him last February for another matter and when officers searched him they discovered the drugs wrapped in a cigarette paper “between his penis and testicles.”

His criminal record includes robbery, supplying and smuggling drugs and drug dealing, committed across several different counties.

The court heard that he was found guilty of knife possession in 2017. He also has five convictions for failing to comply with court orders.

In 2018 he was jailed for 16 weeks for shoplifting and cannabis possession.

While on licence from prison he was jailed for attacking a motorist. He was accused of battering the victim with a hammer which he denied.

He was also convicted of possession of cocaine in 2019.

In July the same year Maparura was jailed for a year after he stole two vacuum cleaners from Curry’s PC World in Kettering armed with incapacitant spray.

In 2020 he was jailed again for smuggling drugs into a detention centre.

The same year he was jailed following a “night of madness” where he rammed into police cars that were chasing him.

In July 2022 he was jailed for three years for controlled drugs offences and breaching a suspended sentence order.

Last July he was jailed for 31 weeks for possession of a hammer and a meat cleaver.

After his release last October Maparura, was jailed for 16 weeks for possession of cannabis, pregabalin, diazepam and zopiclone.

He was hauled back to court on November 23 he was given a suspended sentence for possession of an offensive weapon.

Rajesh Pabary, defending, said that he had three children aged 10, 11, and 12 but admitted he had a “long and extensive history of offending.”

He said: “This is partially to do with drugs and partially to do with funding himself as he was not initially allowed to work when he arrived in this country.”

“He wants to apologise for his actions.”

Despite his string of convictions, Maparura was granted leave to remain in the UK, two months ago and was trying to find work as a forklift driver.

The Nationality and Borders Act 2022 states that anyone convicted of a serious crime resulting in a custodial sentence of 12 months or more, who is considered a danger to the UK, could be denied asylum.

Monica Mutsvangwa Alleges Sinister Agenda Against Her Family

By A Correspondent| Women Affairs minister Monica Mutsvangwa has accused people within the system of fighting her family by arresting her son while she was away.

This follows yesterday’s arrest of Mutsvangwa’s son Neville for illegal foreign currency trading.

In a leaked audio making rounds on social media Monica is heard saying her son was innocent while alleging a sinister agenda against her family.

“It’s definitely political victimisation because my son doesn’t trade in foreign currency, doesn’t trade in ZiG. So I don’t know what it is and why it had to wait while I am away. They timed it while I am away, so I don’t know…,” said Mutsvangwa.

Despite Monica exonerating her son, he is known to trade in foreign currency and is currently involved in exchanging US dollars for South African Rands in what is popularly called EFT.

He openly posts his forex trading rates in Whatsapp groups.

Mnangagwa Rejects Own ZiG Mari?

By A Correspondent

In a recent development, Norton Member of Parliament, Richard Tsvangirai, has come forward to criticize Zimbabwe’s President Emmerson Mnangagwa for publicly dismissing the country’s new currency, ZiG, in favor of the US dollar.

Richard, who is the son of the late founding president of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), Morgan Tsvangirai, voiced his concerns regarding Mnangagwa’s actions and their potential impact on public confidence in the local currency.

The controversy arose when Mnangagwa made headlines by donating 800 USD to a Zanu PF sympathizer during a public event, where the recipient danced before him.

This gesture not only drew attention to Mnangagwa’s apparent preference for the US dollar but also sparked criticism from Tsvangirai and others who see it as a clear demonstration of a lack of confidence in ZiG, Zimbabwe’s newly introduced currency.

Tsvangirai did not mince his words, expressing his dismay at Mnangagwa’s actions and the message they send to the public.

He questioned how ordinary citizens could be expected to have faith in the local currency when the country’s leader openly favors a foreign currency. In his statement, Tsvangirai emphasized the importance of leadership in instilling confidence in the economy and lamented Mnangagwa’s disregard for this responsibility.

“How can an ordinary person gain confidence in the local currency when the leader is brazenly showing his love for USD in public?” Tsvangirai questioned, highlighting the broader implications of Mnangagwa’s actions. “Clearly, he is demonstrating a lack of confidence in the local currency and urinating on everyone who thinks ZiG will work.”

The reference to ZiG, Zimbabwe’s new currency introduced in efforts to stabilize the economy and curb hyperinflation, underscores the significance of Mnangagwa’s rejection of it. By openly favoring the US dollar, Mnangagwa’s actions not only undermine the government’s efforts to promote ZiG but also raise doubts about its viability among the populace.

The public reaction to Mnangagwa’s gesture and Tsvangirai’s subsequent criticism reflects the ongoing challenges facing Zimbabwe’s economy and the delicate balance of confidence in its currency.

With inflation rates soaring and the specter of hyperinflation looming large, the success of ZiG hinges not only on economic policies but also on public trust and perception.

As Zimbabwe navigates its economic landscape, the role of leadership in fostering confidence and stability cannot be overstated.

Tsvangirai’s condemnation of Mnangagwa’s rejection of ZiG serves as a reminder of the importance of unity and commitment to national interests, particularly in times of economic uncertainty.

Tsvangirai’s criticism of Mnangagwa’s preference for the US dollar over ZiG highlights the broader implications for public confidence in Zimbabwe’s currency and economy.

The incident underscores the need for leadership to prioritize economic stability and instill trust in the local currency, essential elements for sustainable growth and prosperity.

Tsvangirai Grills Mthuli Ncube Over Mnangagwa’s Rejection of ZiG

High Court Orders Catch And Release Of Wadyajena’s Trucks

High Court Declares “Catch and Release” in Justice Mayor Wadyajena Case.

Justice Wadyajena

By Farai D Hove | In a dramatic turn of events reminiscent of a classic “catch and release” scenario, the High Court has made a significant ruling in favor of Emmerson Mnangagwa’s reputed protégé, the sports-car aficionado, Justice Mayor Wadyajena. Two years after his high-profile arrest, the court has ordered the release of his extensive collection of vehicles and other assets, previously held by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC).

Justice Mayor Wadyajena, formerly a legislator for Gokwe Nembudziya, found himself in legal hot water when he was accused of siphoning funds from the Cotton Company of Zimbabwe. These funds were intended for the purchase of bale cables but reportedly ended up financing Wadyajena’s personal cache of 25 haulage trucks and two luxury cars. The assets were seized amidst allegations of fraudulent acquisition, spearheading a broader investigation into corruption and money laundering.

However, the narrative took a “catch and release” turn this Wednesday when the High Court ruled that the continued seizure of Wadyajena’s assets was unlawful. According to Wadyajena’s attorney, Mr. Oliver Marwa, this ruling represents a pivotal victory. “The High Court has ruled that the continued seizure of our client is unlawful, and it has ordered that ZACC or anyone holding that property must forthwith release the property,” Marwa stated, emphasizing that while the ruling clears the way for the return of the assets, it does not prevent ongoing investigations or future prosecutions.

This ruling marks yet another episode in what could be seen as a “catch and release” saga, where assets are seized only to be returned following legal battles. Last year, Wadyajena and his co-accused managed to get themselves removed from remand, citing unnecessary delays in the investigation process, which further underscores the cyclic nature of high-profile legal encounters in Zimbabwe.

The state has indicated that it might still pursue criminal charges against Wadyajena, planning to proceed by way of summons. This approach keeps the door open for further legal proceedings, maintaining the tension between the pursuit of justice and the rights of the accused in what many see as a judicial “catch and release” process.

This case has not only highlighted the complexities of legal battles involving high-ranking officials and notable figures but also the challenges faced in the fight against corruption within state enterprises. As the wheels of justice continue to turn, all eyes will be on how this “catch and release” narrative unfolds, shaping perceptions of justice and law enforcement in Zimbabwe.

Simango will effectively serve eight months in prison, contingent upon his good behavior and completion of the restitution payment. The case has attracted attention due to the unusual circumstances and the leniency shown by the court in suspending part of the sentence.- ZimEye

War Breaks Out Between Mudenda And Justice Minister In Parliament

Parliamentary Showdown as Speaker Jacob Mudenda and Justice Minister Zitambi Ziyambi Engage in Heated Dispute

By Dorrothy Moyo | In a rare and startling public confrontation, Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda and Justice Minister Zitambi Ziyambi exchanged heated words today, bringing legislative proceedings to a standstill and highlighting deep-seated tensions within the government’s legislative branch.

The incident unfolded when confusion arose over who was to present a crucial Notice of Motion. Although it was initially understood that Deputy Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Hon. Mazungunye would handle the task, Minister Ziyambi appeared prepared to leave the chamber, prompting Speaker Mudenda to seek clarification.

“**Hon. Minister of Justice!**” called out Speaker Mudenda, as Ziyambi made motions to exit. Responding to the Speaker’s inquiry, Ziyambi indicated that despite his movements, the Deputy Minister was indeed present to proceed with the motion, asserting, “**It is allowed…**” This did not satisfy Mudenda, who pressed for a clearer explanation on the procedural norms being followed.

As the discussion continued, Speaker Mudenda expressed his frustration with what he perceived as Ziyambi’s lack of attention to parliamentary procedure. “That is not the issue, Hon. Minister,” Mudenda emphasized, questioning Ziyambi’s intent to depart for the Senate while leaving his duties unattended in the House.

Ziyambi’s responses seemed to further agitate the situation, as he attempted to justify his actions by stating, “**There is no rule that forbids the Deputy Minister from moving the motion.**” However, this did not address Mudenda’s concerns about the expected protocol and the importance of the Minister’s presence during such proceedings.

The confrontation peaked when Mudenda admonished Ziyambi for his lack of focus on the ongoing session, asserting, “**Your private conversation does not take precedence.**” Ziyambi, taken aback, asked, “**Where is the private conversation?**” Miscommunication continued to escalate the tension, leading Mudenda to sternly request Ziyambi to leave the House. Ziyambi refused, visibly upset, countering, “**No, Mr. Speaker. That is not correct. Why are you saying I should leave the House?**” His protest was met with a chorus of inaudible interjections from other members, signaling widespread concern and disbelief.

Ultimately, Deputy Minister Mazungunye was allowed to proceed, thanking the Speaker and attempting to steer the session back to its legislative purpose. However, the altercation left a palpable tension in the room, with members and observers alike left to ponder the implications of such a public disagreement between two high-ranking officials.

This clash not only disrupts the immediate legislative process but also casts doubt on the stability and unity of the government’s functioning, potentially influencing future parliamentary interactions and the overall effectiveness of governance during a critical period. The fallout from today’s events may resonate beyond the walls of Parliament, affecting public confidence and the administration’s legislative agenda.

Madzibaba Ishmael Falls Ill

Trial of Religious Cult Leader Madzibaba Ishmael Delayed Due to Hospitalization

In an unexpected turn of events, the trial of Ishmael Chokurongerwa, a notorious religious cult leader known as Madzibaba Ishmael, has been postponed. This delay comes after the accused and his six co-defendants were reportedly too ill to leave hospital care for the proceedings. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) conveyed this news on X, stating, “Due to unforeseen medical issues, the trial of Ishmael Chokurongerwa and his co-accused has been rescheduled to May 23 and 24.”

Madzibaba Ishmael, 54, was set to face the court over a series of grave charges stemming from his leadership of a religious sect. He was initially apprehended in March when police, equipped with riot gear and accompanied by dogs, stormed his shrine in Nyabira, roughly 34 km northwest of Harare. This raid resulted in the rescue of numerous women and children.

Chokurongerwa is accused of ill-treatment or neglect of children involving 41 minors, unauthorized funerals or burials, and failure to report births and deaths, among other offenses. His re-arrest on new charges involves allegations of engaging in relations with minors between 2018 and 2024, leading to the birth of six infants. Specific cases include four underage girls between thirteen and sixteen.

Reflecting on the situation, a spokesperson for the NPA remarked, “The charges are a serious concern, highlighting a pattern of alleged abuses within the sect led by Chokurongerwa.”

Previously, in 2015, Chokurongerwa was convicted and served time for leading an assault on police officers, journalists, and members of the Archbishop Johannes Ndanga Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe at his former shrine. This attack was initiated during an intervention aimed at shutting down the sect due to accusations of abuse by its members.

Upon his release, Chokurongerwa founded the new shrine in Nyabira, where police later uncovered over 1000 individuals, including numerous children lacking birth certificates and education.

As the rescheduled trial date approaches, the community and legal observers are keenly waiting to see how this complex case will unfold, with hopes for justice and clarity regarding the disturbing allegations.

Mnangagwa Grants National Hero Status to Own Loyalist

By A Correspondent|ZimEye

In a move steeped in political significance, Zanu PF leader Mr. Emmerson Mnangagwa has posthumously granted national hero status to the late Ezekiel Tobias Musiiwa Chaunoita, a former Director in the President’s Office and purported chief agent within the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO).

Announcing the decision in a statement released on Tuesday, Zanu PF declared, “ZANU PF First Secretary, President E D Mnangagwa has conferred a National Hero Status to the late former Director in the President’s Office, Ezekiel Tobias Musiiwa Chaunoita.”

Chaunoita, who passed away at the age of 66, served in a pivotal role within the corridors of power, wielding influence within the clandestine realm of the CIO.

His elevation to national hero status underscores the intricate interplay between political loyalty and official recognition within Zimbabwe’s power structures.

Tshabangu Glorifies Mnangagwa’s Failing Administration

Robbers Raid Harare School, Make Off With Cash

By A Correspondent| ZimEye

In a daring daylight robbery that sent shockwaves through the community, six armed suspects raided Warren Park Primary School this morning, targeting parents as they queued to pay their children’s school fees on opening day.

According to reports from the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), the armed assailants stormed the school premises, brandishing weapons and terrorizing both staff and parents.

In a matter of minutes, they made off with a substantial sum of US$1,481.00 in cash, leaving a trail of fear and uncertainty in their wake.

“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating a case of robbery which took place at Warren Park Primary School this morning when six armed suspects raided the school as parents were paying their school fees,” stated the ZRP in a press release issued shortly after the incident.

As authorities intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, the ZRP has issued a stern warning to school authorities to bolster security measures and remain vigilant during peak times of financial transactions.

In light of this brazen attack, parents are urged to exercise caution and explore alternative methods of fee payment to mitigate the risk of similar incidents occurring in the future.

“The ZRP urges school authorities to increase security and be alert as parents pay school fees. Where possible, parents are encouraged to deposit their fees through financial institutions to curb armed robbery cases,” emphasized the ZRP, underscoring the importance of proactive measures in safeguarding the well-being of students, staff, and parents alike.

As the investigation unfolds, the community remains on edge, grappling with the unsettling reality of violence infiltrating the sanctity of educational institutions.

In the face of adversity, resilience and solidarity emerge as indispensable tools in the collective effort to combat crime and ensure the safety of all members of society.

High Court Orders ZACC To Release Wadyajena’s Haulage Trucks

By A Correspondent| The High Court has ordered the release of former Gokwe Nembudziya legislator, Justice Mayor Wadyajena’s property which was seized by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) and forfeited after he was arrested on allegations of fraud and money laundering.

Wadyajena who was accused of embezzling funds from the Cotton Company of Zimbabwe meant for acquiring bale cables has been given the green light to get his 25 haulage trucks and two luxurious cars.

The two luxurious vehicles include a Lamborghini Urus and BMW customized X6M.

The trucks were seized by the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission after his arrest amid accusations that they were acquired fraudulently.
The ruling was delivered this Wednesday by the High Court of Zimbabwe with Wadyajena’s lawyer, Mr Oliver Marwa explaining the next course of action.
“The High Court has ruled that the continued seizure of our client’s trucks and top of the range vehicles was unlawful and it has ordered that ZACC or anyone holding that property must forthwith release the property. If they have any other issue that is outstanding they can proceed it is not a bar against the investigation or prosecution of my client. It is an important victory in the fight against my client and the State,” he said.

The ruling comes after Wadyadyena and his co-accused successfully applied to be removed from remand last year, with the presiding magistrate noting that there were unnecessary delays in completing investigations.

Seven (7) Chamisa Linked CCC Youths Arrested For Undermining Tshabangu

By State media- Seven opposition youths from the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) who are linked to Nelson Chamisa were arrested and are set to stand trial on May 22 after assaulting the Deputy Mayor of Beitbridge, Councillor John Manatsa.

The seven are said to have accused Councillor Manatsa of sympathising with the party’s self-imposed Secretary General, Senator Sengezo Tshabungu.

The assault took place on March 6 when the Deputy Mayor along with other party members were attending a political meeting at the home of recalled Beitbridge West legislator, Mr Morgan Ncube, in Dulivhadzimu.

The house is also used by the opposition party as its district office.

Anthony Shoko (28), Winston Mugudo (25), Aaron Makumbe (24), Miller Kuwe (31), Decent Dube (35), Forget Chirenda (35), and Cosmas Chimonyo (23) are facing charges of assault and theft of cash R2500 and US$1800, which they allegedly stole from the complainant during the fracas.

On Monday, Beitbridge resident magistrate, Mr Takudzwa Gwazemba remanded the gang to the trial date.

During their initial appearance, they were remanded out of custody on ZWL$300 000 bail.

Prosecuting, Mr Ronald Mugwagwa said on March 6, the complainant was attending a CCC meeting at the party offices when the seven accused persons approached him.

He said Shoko told Councillor Manatsa to leave the house citing that he supports Mr Tshabangu’s faction.

The accused persons then lifted Councillor Manatsa from where he was seated and dragged him outside the house. They went on to assault him and threw him at the veranda.

The court heard that the gang also dragged Councillor out of the yard. He sustained some back injuries and a swollen left arm.

During the assault, the accused person allegedly took the councillor’s shoes, a small bag containing R2500 and US$1800 and a cell phone.

They later threw the items over the parameter wall after allegedly ransacking the bag and taking the money.

A police report was made, leading to the accused persons’ arrest a few days later.

Lungu Louds Putin, As The Former Zambian President Prepares For A Come Back

By Political Correspondent- Former Zambian President Edgar Lungu has pledged his allegiance to the Russian head of State, Vladimir Putin and said that he would forever support his administration.

Lungu was defeated in the 2021 Presidential election by his party’s long-time opposition, Haikainde Hichilema of the  United Party for National Development (UPND).

The Patriotic Front leader has, however, launched a bid to come back as the leader of the party and challenge HH in the next year’s elections.

Below is Lungu’s congratulatory message to Putin on his fifth term inauguration Tuesday:

My fellow citizens, friends and colleagues both at home and abroad.

Allow me to join the rest of the world in saying ‘pozdravaleniya’ to the President of the Federation of Russia H.E  President Vladimir Putin for his re-election on 17th March, 2024 and consequently his inauguration last Tuesday, 7th May, 2024.

Congratulations, Mr President, on my behalf, my wife Esther, my political party PF and many diplomatically astute Zambians.

As you all maybe aware, President Putin swore the oath of allegiance to the Russian Constitution at his inauguration of his fifth term as leader of Russian Federation after convincingly winning the March 2024 poll with 82.7%.

When l was at the University of Zambia studying law, I recall how some of my friends and relatives chose to study at universities in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities in Russia instead of joining UNZA or Copperbelt University. As a former head of state, I am grateful that Russia continues to sponsor between 200-250 students to study chemical engineering, medicine, economics, nuclear science, and many other courses in Russia annually all paid for by the Russian government.

As northern Rhodesia just like many countries in Africa, Russia helped us fight colonialism, we in Africa won our struggle for independence using Russian guns and weapons. Russia never colonised us, Russia has been with Africa and for Africa. I also recall that Russia has been an all-weather friend of Zambia that assisted us in military corporation through our first President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and subsequent presidents.

As you start your new political mandate Mr. President, take note that we in Zambia cannot ignore or forget such an ally and friend as our diplomatic engagement clocks 60 this year. Being a former President of Zambia and a pan-Africanist, I pledge to continue engaging with you in the same way I engage with the United States, the European Union, Britain, France, China, Brazil, the African Union, the United Nations and other diplomatic entities at bilateral and multilateral levels.

Your Excellency President Putin, I wish you God’s blessings and protection as you commence your latest six-year term. Like you said at the Grand Kremlin Palace during your inauguration, we join you and the people of Russia to pray for national and international peace in a ‘conflict free globe’ where everyone can live free, in harmony and happiness.

Thank you and God Bless !

H.E Dr. Edgar Chagwa Lungu

Sixth President of the Republic of Zambia.

Zanu PF Minister Chucked-Out-Of Parliament

ZIYAMBI ZIYAMBI

By Parliament Correspondent- In a scene that looks like factionalism in the Ruling Zanu PF party, the Speaker of Parliament is a senior Zanu PF official, Jacob Mudenda, Tuesday injected Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi from the National Assembly.

Ziyambi, who is the leader of government business in the house, was expected to make a motion on a law to provide land tenure security.

Ziyambi, however, decided that his deputy Norbet Mazungunye would do so instead, but Mudenda rejected that. He demanded to know why Ziyambi would not table the motion himself.

The ZANU PF Chief Whip, Pupurai Togarepi, tried to offer an excuse for Ziyambi, saying the minister wanted to go to the Senate.

But Ziyambi corrected Togarepi and said he wanted to converse with his staff. He said:

No rule says the deputy minister cannot move the motion.

Mudenda then told Ziyambi that his private conversation “does not take precedence”. He then ordered Ziyambi to leave the house. Ziyambi and Togarepi then approached Mudenda’s chair to continue the protest.

Mudenda’s microphone was initially live as a livid Ziyambi demanded to know what rule says a deputy minister can’t move a motion when a minister is present.

Mudenda claimed this was in “section 107 of the constitution” and Ziyambi challenged him to open it. Mudenda moved his hand to pick up the constitution but did not open it. Said Ziyambi:

You were harsh. It’s not correct Mr Speaker to embarrass your own minister.

Mudenda’s microphone was then turned off as the conversation continued. Ziyambi subsequently left the National Assembly.

First calls

The following is a side transcript of the Chimurenga Music King Thomas Mapfumo‘s audio on the 3rd May, that infuriated the ruling ZANU PF causing party members Dr Masimba Mavaza and the businessman, Wicknell Chivayo to descend on him. Mapfumo addressed Zimbabweans as follows-

I want the cars that were seized—five cars that the government of Zimbabwe took. I had purchased these cars from South Africa, bought from merchants, and I paid my money. However, after the cars were seized, they were stored at Tomlinson depot. Consequently, my family and I faced harassment by the police over these cars, which we had paid for. Eventually, we relocated to the United States, where a US citizen helped us settle.

After settling in, a friend of mine, Simba Chiromo, was contacted by the police to collect my vehicles since the police cleared all and any fault. Chiromo found all five vehicles parked at the depot and planned to collect them the following week. Unfortunately, when he returned, the vehicles were gone. It was later revealed that a police officer had sold my cars who was was quickly transferred to Plumtree.

I am not interested in what Wicknell Chivayo is saying; I just want my five cars back. I do not want anyone else’s vehicles.

Some people claim that I lived in Phillip Chiyangwa’s garage. Have you ever seen me there? Has that man ever seen me?

I once owned a football club, Sporting Lions.

Oliver Mtukudzi, George Shaya, and I were each given a piece of land in the capital city. However, mine was confiscated because I was accused of wanting to set up a studio to produce jingles mocking the government, which is untrue. This is a false accusation against me.

The government holds grudges against these people. I supported them during the war, but I realized I had supported the wrong people and started criticizing them. Therefore, don’t be surprised by my decision to live in the United States.

They forget that I was the one who ordered all the songs during the liberation struggle and that I was captured and arrested by the Ian Smith government for their cause. I am a man of the people and will always remain so. I want the people to live in their own country. I would like to see this country become progressive and successful. Can’t you see where we are right now? When I recently visited Zambia, I noticed it is now 200 years ahead of Zimbabwe. They are fulfilling the wishes of the people. Hichilema is advancing the people’s will.

When they came into power, there was money from the Ian Smith government. Where did that money go? Now they say we are printing bond notes and creating ZiGs.

I had money in my Zimbabwe bank account from my record sales, but it was depleted by inflation. Where did all that money go?

But why do you remain in your houses when you see all this chaos? You are such cowards. What makes you endure this situation for 44 years? If you don’t come out, you will continue to suffer.

You say that I should return to that country. Why should I return to a country that lacks the rule of law? Why should I return to a country that kills people who complain? If you ask Mnangagwa why he removed Robert Mugabe, he won’t be able to tell you.

They conspired to remove the president, promising to share power later. They made a secret deal.

You are not seeing it. When these people shout “Up with Zanu PF,” what they mean is “Up with hunger,” while those in power live well. Then you hear Mnangagwa complaining about sanctions, but the sanctions don’t affect him; he is living well.

You need to wake up and stop living a cowardly life. Don’t say I should return to Zimbabwe. I will stay wherever I want; a person should not be forced to live somewhere. LISTEN TO THE FULL AUDIO BELOW –

Four (4) Reasons Why ZiG Is Collapsing

By Business Reporter- A local economist has explained why Zimbabwe’s new currency, Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), is falling.

The ZiG, on Monday, weakened to its lowest level against the US dollar since it was launched last month, further raising concerns about the long-term viability of the gold-backed currency.

Data by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) Monday shows the currency was trading at 13.67 to the US dollar, a decline of 0.8% from its first day of trading at 13.56 per dollar on April 8.

Crispus Nyaga, writing for invezz, outlines some of the reasons for the collapsing ZiG.

First, many Zimbabweans are afraid of getting involved in this experiment since they have been burned before. People and businesses that bought and held the previous currencies have seen their purchasing power fall over the years.

Second, this is an experiment that has not been tried in other countries before. The most recent dollar-backed currency was the US dollar. President Richard Nixon ended the dollar peg to curb inflation and the conversion became difficult.

In ZiG’s case, it is unclear what will happen if there is a strong demand for the currency. At the current price, the 2.5 tons of gold are worth over $186 million, bringing the total holdings to $286 million. These funds are barely enough to back the currency.

Third, the ZiG token is different from other backed assets, including stablecoins. In the case of a stablecoin like Tether, users redeem their USDT tokens with fiat currency instantly. It is not possible to redeem any amount of ZiG tokens for gold or US dollar equivalent.

It is also unclear whether Zimbabwe’s neighbouring countries like South Africa, Zambia, and Mozambique will accept the ZiG currency.

Finally, Zimbabwe is mostly a dollar-based economy. Data shows that the greenback is used in over 80% of all transactions in the country.

Last month, the Central Bank said ZiG was not yet recognised internationally and could not be used to make international payments as it has not yet achieved convertibility. It said:

ZiG is a local currency that has just been launched and has not yet achieved convertibility. The Bank will work to strengthen the currency to attain full convertibility, consistent with the regional agenda for macroeconomic convergence under the SADC Protocol on Finance and Investment.

ZiG replaced the Real Time Gross Settlement Dollar (RTGS) and subsequently the Zimbabwe dollar, which lost about 80% of its value this year alone and had been trading at 28,720 to US$1 before the change.

It is Zimbabwe’s sixth attempt to have a stable currency. The previous Zimbabwe dollar was launched in 2019 and collapsed this year.

Zanu PF Thug Appointed ZBC Chief Executive

By Showbiz Reporter- In a surprising move, the government has appointed an active Zanu PF Youth leader as the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) Chief executive.

Charles Munganasa, a ZBC board member, was announced as acting CEO Tuesday.

Munganasa is the secretary for administration in the Masvingo Zanu PF Youth League.

He replaces Assael Machakata, the ZBC finance director who has been acting CEO since February following the suspension of Adelaide Chikunguru, who later resigned.

ZBC also announced the appointment of Merit Munzwembiri as the acting head of news and current affairs.

Munzwembiri takes over from Jackie Gwemende, who replaced Robson Mhandu, whose contract was not renewed when it expired earlier this year.

According to ZimLive, the latest changes at ZBC were ordered by the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, which maintains a tight grip on the state broadcaster.

The appointment of a ZANU PF activist as acting ZBC CEO raises questions about the national broadcaster’s impartiality, especially after the government announced plans to raise US$100 million for the ZBC annually.

The Cabinet recently approved amendments to the Broadcasting Services Act which will compel motorists to buy radio licences from ZBC whenever they renew their vehicle licences.

If the amendments are passed by Parliament, it will become mandatory for motorists to first pay a US$92 annual licence fee for car radios before acquiring vehicle insurance cover or policy unless there is an exemption from the ZBC.

Police Boss Called Out For Harassing Foreign Sports Teams

By A Correspondent| Zimbabwe Republic Police Commissioner General Godwin Matanga has called out Officer Commanding Harare Province Wonder Tembo for forcing foreign sports teams currently in the country for handball games to pay for escort services.

According to a police press statement, Tembo had a dispute with the organisers of the Zone IV International Handball Federation Trophy Tournament who wanted escort services for team playing games in Chitungwiza-which is 40 kilometres from Harare Central Business District.

Matanga reiterated that the police do not charge for escort services to foreign teams participating in games in Zimbabwe.

He ordered that the teams be escorted to Chitungwiza for free.

“Reference is made to the ongoing Zone IV International Handball Federation Trophy Tournament and the engagement by organizers with Officer Commanding Harare Province, Commissioner Wonder Tembo on the 07th May 2024 for escort services for foreign participating teams to the venue in Chitungwiza. The Commissioner General of Police Tandabantu Godwin Matanga has directed that escort services be immediately provided to the teams for free.

“In this regard no money will be paid to the Zimbabwe Republic Police or any individual member for the escort services.

“The Commissioner General of Police has made it clear that the Zimbabwe Republic Police does not charge any money or costs to escort foreign teams coming to participate in sporting events in the country,” the police Public Relations department said.

It is not clear what action will be taken against Tembo but many a times people have complained over the conduct of the ZRP with officers now reportedly demanding bribes even to open a docket.

Duduza Ordered To Let Wife Arrive Home At Her Own Time

By A Correspondent| Former football star Edward Sadomba has been instructed to permit his estranged wife, Sherylnn, unrestricted access to their marital residence.

Harare Magistrate Johanna Mukwesha, in her ruling, permitted communication between the couple solely to facilitate Sherylnn’s entry into their Pokugara Estates property in Borrowdale, irrespective of her arrival time.

Sadomba had objected to the directive, proposing that Sherylnn seek assistance from other family members to gain entry, citing the need to preserve peace.

Despite living on separate floors within their home, the couple is subject to an existing peace order.

Sadomba contended that Sherylnn’s habit of returning home late and demanding entry placed him in a quandary, alleging he was the victim of abuse by Sherylnn and her relatives.

The court, in yesterday’s proceedings, modified the peace order, permitting communication between the couple while prohibiting verbal or emotional abuse, a significant source of contention.

Additionally, a protection order against Sadomba was granted, mandating him to refrain from physical or emotional harm towards Sherylnn for the next five years.

Magistrate Mukwesha emphasized Sadomba’s obstruction of Sherylnn’s access to their shared home as grounds for the directive, urging compliance.

The court further instructed the couple to uphold peace and refrain from eviction until their marital issues are resolved.

Zivhu Mocks Opposition

By A Correspondent

Zanu PF member, Killer Zivhu, has derided the opposition, suggesting that those who oppose the current regime will fade away like bond notes.

Zivhu made the remarks on X over the weekend:

“I would rather remain in Zanu PF than align with opposition parties. They tend to disband swiftly, resembling glucose, always initiating new ventures only to disband again.

Their fate is as fleeting as that of bond notes. #ZanuPF #OppositionParties”

Mahere Says Govt’s Directives Can Be Disobeyed

Legal Expert Fadzai Mahere Challenges Government Directives, Asserts Constitutional Missteps

Zimbabwean lawyer Fadzai Mahere criticized the use of government directives as substitutes for actual laws, labeling such practices unconstitutional and a violation of the rule of law. Mahere’s statement comes amid growing concerns over the adherence to constitutional protocols by government officials.

“I don’t know who needs to hear this, but a ‘Govt directive’ is not law. Rule by decree is unconstitutional,” Mahere stated, referencing Section 68 of the Zimbabwean Constitution, which mandates that all government actions be based on law, reasonableness, and fairness.

Mahere emphasized that policies only gain legal authority when enacted into law, directly challenging any notions that memos or verbal directives from ministers or governors could have legal force. “A Minister can’t write a memo to schools and believe it has the force of law. It doesn’t,” she asserted, adding that statements made by officials on media platforms do not automatically become enforceable laws.

This clarification from Mahere underscores a fundamental principle of constitutional democracies: the rule of law, which requires laws to be certain, positively stated, and uniformly applied without discrimination.

Highlighting inconsistencies in application, Mahere critiqued the selective enforcement of rules among government-operated services, such as fuel stations and passport offices, compared to other public sectors like schools. Such practices, she argued, contravene Section 56 of the Constitution, which ensures equal protection and benefit of the law for all citizens.

Concluding her powerful critique, Mahere called for a leadership overhaul, hinting at the necessity for leaders who uphold and respect the legal foundations of the nation. “This nation would become a jungle if any public official could wake up and say do this or do that and force us to comply. It doesn’t work like that,” Mahere warned, urging a return to principled governance where only enacted laws have binding power.

Her call to action resonates at a time when public trust in government efficacy and integrity is notably wavering, making her arguments not only a legal assessment but also a rallying cry for democratic renewal in Zimbabwe.

Road Users Slam Enforcement Of Radio Licences

By A Correspondent

In response to recent announcements from the government regarding proposed changes to vehicle licensing regulations, motorists across Zimbabwe are expressing their vehement opposition to the inclusion of radio licenses as a prerequisite for obtaining vehicle licenses.

The proposed bill, outlined during a Cabinet briefing, has ignited a wave of discontent among vehicle owners who perceive the move as exploitative and unjust.

“The idea of mandating radio licenses for all vehicle owners is absurd and indicative of a government constantly seeking ways to extract money from its citizens,” voiced one disgruntled vehicle owner who wished to remain anonymous.

“We will resist any attempts to enforce such unjust regulations.”

The government’s proposal has drawn criticism not only for its perceived financial burden on citizens but also for its departure from principles of decentralization outlined in the constitution.

Many argue that local authorities should be responsible for collecting road usage fees, which would then be allocated for maintaining local roads, while the national government should oversee toll fees for national highways and inter-district roads.

“It’s outrageous that the government is trying to impose additional financial burdens on vehicle owners without considering the implications,” remarked another frustrated motorist.

“We demand transparency and accountability in how our taxes and fees are utilized.”

Adding fuel to the fire, concerns have been raised regarding the legitimacy of the Cabinet’s press statement, which lacks the legal authority of a Statutory Instrument or an Act of Parliament. Motorists are being urged to refrain from complying with directives that are not backed by law and to report any attempts to pressure them into engaging in unlawful processes.

“The government must adhere to due process and consult the public before implementing any changes to regulations that affect citizens’ livelihoods,” emphasized a concerned vehicle owner. “We will not stand idly by while our rights are trampled upon.”

Furthermore, the decision to set fees in United States Dollars rather than Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG) has raised suspicions about the government’s confidence in its own currency.

This move further erodes trust and exacerbates the already strained relationship between citizens and the authorities.

As tensions escalate and discontent spreads among motorists, the government faces mounting pressure to reconsider its proposed changes to vehicle licensing regulations.

The voices of disgruntled vehicle owners, echoed by leaders such as Linda Tsungirirai Masarira, President of LEAD, underscore the need for accountability, transparency, and respect for citizens’ rights in the formulation of policies affecting the populace.

In the absence of proper consultation and adherence to legal procedures, motorists remain resolute in their determination to resist any attempts to enforce unjust mandates on vehicle licensing.

DA Leader Struggles To Defend Burning Of Flag

By A Correspondent |ZimEye

In a controversial move sparking widespread debate, South Africa’s Democratic Alliance (DA) is under fire for their latest election advert featuring the burning of the national flag.

The advert, unveiled at the DA’s headquarters in Johannesburg, swiftly circulated on social media, prompting criticism from various sectors of society.

Defending the advertisement during a press conference, DA leader John Steenhuisen stated, “What you will see in this advertisement is a symbolic representation of the future that awaits South Africa if people do not vote for the DA.”

Steenhuisen continued, “It is a warning of what this country’s future will look like under a Doomsday Coalition between the ANC, the EFF, and perhaps also MK and mercenary small parties like the Patriotic Alliance.”

Highlighting the risks he perceives, Steenhuisen elaborated, “The Doomsday Coalition will expropriate property without compensation and abolish private property rights.

It will nationalise and destroy foreign investment, businesses, banks, and mines, and plunge this country into ethnic and racial conflict the likes of which it has never witnessed before.”

However, the advert’s stark messaging, symbolized by the flag burning, has faced significant public backlash.

Former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela criticized the campaign, noting, “It seems to show disrespect and disloyalty to the flag, which to many of us is more than a flag but a symbol of triumph against apartheid.”

Madonsela added, “In some countries, it’s even a crime to burn the flag.”

The controversy surrounding the advert underscores the deep divisions and potent symbolism embedded in national icons like the flag, especially in a country with a history as complex and fraught as South Africa’s.

While the DA’s strategy may have aimed to provoke dialogue about the nation’s political trajectory, it also risks alienating voters who view the act as a desecration of a cherished symbol of unity and freedom.

As the country approaches another election cycle, the uproar over this advert serves as a stark reminder of the volatile nature of political discourse in South Africa.

Galloway Set To Renew Plymouth Deal

Brendan Galloway’s contract with Plymouth Argyle is set to expire at the end of the season and both parties have since entered talks for a new deal.

The Warriors international received a new offer but is yet to accept it.

However, the final decision was to depend on whether Argyle successfully retain their Championship status.

After Argyle’s survival was confirmed over the weekend, the club now hopes Galloway, along with Mikel Miller, will remain beyond this season.

He said: “Obviously, we didn’t know what league we were going to be in. I respect the fact they wanted to wait to see where they would be so hopefully today is a positive way forward in that respect.”

“I think both players have done well in the Championship, they want to stay in the Championship, so would I, so I don’t really foresee too many issues as long as we’re in this league.”

Brendan Galloway joined Plymouth Argyle in 2021 and helped the team win promotion into Championship last season.

He has made twent-six appearances across all competitions.

Zanu PF In ANC Last Minute Campaign Rallies

Political Correspondent-Zanu PF has announced that it has been invited by its sister party in South Africa, the African National Congress, ANC, to join them in their last campaign rallies ahead of the May 29 national elections.

Obert Mpofu, the Zanu PF secretary general, made the announcement Monday through the state media.

The ANC will battle it out with the Democratic Alliance (DA), Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), and the newly formed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) party backed by former South African president Jacob Zuma plus a group of fringe political parties.

South Africans will elect a new National Assembly as well as the provincial legislature in each of the country’s nine provinces before the National Assembly elects the President.

The ANC is expected to retain its parliamentary majority in the country’s seventh democratic election since the end of the apartheid system in 1994, with the 2024 elections coinciding with South Africa’s celebration of 30 years of freedom and democracy

Dr Mpofu yesterday said South Africa “is part of us in the region, we have an interest in what is going on”.

“We have been in touch with the South African ruling party. What is happening there is an internal issue which we are closely monitoring. I cannot rule out the fact that we can go and assist if they need assistance from us. There are pressing issues that need to be addressed by South Africans on the political developments taking place there,” said Mpofu.

He said Zanu PF hoped the elections would be conducted in accordance with SADC rules regarding elections.

“We wish them the best in their efforts to conduct their elections,” said Dr Mpofu.

Mugabe Eye Doctor Loses US$100 000 In Crypto-Currency Deal

By Crime and Courts Reporter- Renowned eye specialist Dr Solomon Guramatunhu has lost over US$100,000 in a cryptocurrency transaction.

According to court documents unveiled at the Harare Magistrate’s Court, Dr Guramatunhu fell victim to a fraudulent scheme orchestrated by one Lloyd Chiyangwa, resulting in a substantial loss totalling US$108,924.

Chiyangwa appeared in court this Monday and was remanded in custody.

The intricate web of deceit began when Dr. Guramatunhu enlisted Chiyangwa’s services, entrusting him, then based in the UK, with the task of setting up cryptocurrency wallets and devising secure passwords.

However, what transpired next was a calculated betrayal, as Chiyangwa purportedly executed a transfer of 122,467 Matic tokens valued at over US$108,000 from Guramatunhu’s Metamask wallet to the Waybit exchange.

It wasn’t until Guramatunhu sought to relocate these tokens to another wallet that the alarming discovery was made – they had vanished without a trace.

Suspicions arose regarding Chiyangwa’s involvement, with authorities noting his alleged utilisation of an iPhone 15 to orchestrate the transaction.

In the wake of this financial fiasco, Dr. Guramatunhu promptly alerted law enforcement, prompting an investigation into the matter.

Dr Guramatunhu was also the late President Robert Mugabe’s eye doctor and would provide expert advice on the leader’s ocular health.

Tips for Improving Your Gaming Experience

It seems that almost everyone today is a gamer. The boom in popularity has come thanks to a few different reasons. First, eSports events have gained popularity, which has helped turn gaming into a spectator sport. Just like with professional sports leagues, there are now legions of dedicated and supportive fans

Second, games have become easier to produce—which means, in turn, they’re also easier to access. This is true across the board, from competitive gaming titles to more casual games like online casinos. Let’s take a look at some examples, starting with the latter.

Casino games include centuries-old favorites like blackjack, roulette, and even baccarat. Today, there are also brand new releases capturing the attention of players who enjoy virtual casinos. These include live dealer games and game show-inspired titles. These new casino games highlight the fact that digital games are more straightforward to produce, which allows for more innovation.

The same goes for competitive video games. PUBG, for example, was a popular mod of a battle royale PC title. But it didn’t reach its peak of fame until it was re-released as a mobile game. The mobile variation is much more accessible from a mobile device versus a PC, meaning more players could try it out around the world.

Innovations in both game type and platform accessibility have allowed just about anyone to become a gamer. But that doesn’t mean it’s easy to start out as a casual or competitive gamer. We’ve collected a few tips to help you improve your gaming experience in a variety of ways.

 Go Multiplayer & Join Communities

One reason why many fail to continue their gaming journey is because the experience simply isn’t fulfilling—especially not without a social element. If you’re a social person, then consider joining gaming communities in Zimbabwe or South Africa. These might be online if you live in a remote area, or they could be in person.

Gaming communities usually center around a game or a specific element of a game, like a beloved character. If you find yourself gravitating to a game, level, character, or even side quest, then start there. You can easily start rubbing elbows with likeminded gamers, which adds a whole new element to the experience—especially if multiplayer options are available. You’ll never game alone again.

Optimize Settings

Let’s refocus on your hardware for a moment. Many gamers are mobile gamers, meaning they rely on their handy smartphone to access their favorite titles. Did you know that you can optimize your settings on any device to improve the functionality of your games

If you have a newer smartphone, there might be a ‘gaming’ mode or setting. Just look straight in your device’s settings area. If not, you can download an app like Game Booster to help streamline your device for gaming. Otherwise, manually boost your settings, including battery saving, FPS (frames per second – the more, the better), and high-quality graphics.

If you keep running into trouble, try to set up shop next to the Wi-Fi router you’re using. That should help boost your connection. On top of that, look to delete any unwanted apps from your phone, along with any hefty downloads, like videos.

Try New Games

It’s easy to get backed into a corner in terms of games. After all, if you’ve found a fantastic title and have developed a community around that game, it can be hard to test new waters. However, this is always a hugely rewarding experience for gamers. Exploring new releases can help you really get to the root of your preferences.

That doesn’t mean you need to jump ship for an entirely new genre. As we mentioned up top, casinos are innovating with live dealer titles, which doesn’t change the games themselves but rather the way they’re played. If you’re feeling a little bored, then try out a game that’s in the same genre but offers a different premise. Who knows what new interests you’ll unlock?

Climate Change Adaptation Needs More Attention Than Football…
